Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Terima kasih telah menonton! Hello, travelers, and welcome back to Walk About the World,
your weekly podcast adventure.
It's an adventure every time, right, Pete?
It sure is.
Through the parks and resorts of Walt Disney World.
And, of course, occasionally we dive over onto the West Coast
and hang out at Disneyland.
I'm here with Pete.
Yes, you are. You're here with me.
Here we are. We're walking around the World Showcase.
We just listened to
the Mariachi Cobra.
The girl from Ipanema.
So we're just going to wander around the World Showcase today.
See what happens.
It's supposed to be very very rainy as the tropical storm just passed through.
Agatha.
Agatha.
But she's quickly dissipated.
Now it's actually quite sunny.
And hot.
Feels good though.
Cool breeze. Now it's actually quite sunny. It's hot.
Feels good though.
Cool breeze.
It's not crazy crowded, but there's enough people here.
No more. No more.
Currently walking into the China Pavilion.
Seems very popular today.
The tipsy ducks and love line is very long. I don't know where you should put it. I'm trying to find it.
S!
I! I don't know if you ever been to one so small. There's a nice breeze. Still got 60.
About to cross over the drawbridge.
Do they still use the drawbridge?
They do when they bring out the boat for harmonious.
So the harmonious floats are not permanent?
Not all of them.
Well, the floats are.
The boats.
Have you ever waited for this drawbridge? It takes forever. A very long time.
Transitioning.
We are not in China anymore.
This old truck here? It used to be in front of the Jungle Cruise.
It did?
Mhmm.
And when they rethemed the Jungle Cruise here, they brought it over here to the refreshment
outpost. Refreshment Outpost is currently serving pineapple skewer with tahini seasoning.
Yeah, I don't know.
That's not my jam.
See, I'm a fan of the chocolate-covered pineapple.
I don't know about the tahini.
I've also got a tangerine cream ale, but from Lexington.
This sounds good.
Blake's Hard Cider Company Blueberry Lemonade Hard Cider.
An organic blonde ale with passion fruit from Orlando Brewing.
Is it too nice to say nice? Yeah. It's a good order. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. Pete, if you could add one pavilion to Epcot, what would it be?
Let's see, that's a good question.
I guess since Ireland is very close to what they already have, I would say Poland.
I think Poland would be good.
There'd be some really good food.
Always good Polish food.
Drinks would be good.
Perogies?
Perogies and sausages?
Oh my gosh, sounds so good.
Good food, good drink.
I think you could get...
The pavilion itself would be really cool, I think.
That's a, you know, not popular opinion.
I feel like most people say Brazil or...
What are some of the other...
New Zealand or Australia.
That would probably be pretty cool, too.
How about you?
I mean
I always loved
like during food and wine
like you just mentioned New Zealand
I always get that
the lamb chop
Oh my gosh.
So I mean
New Zealand
looks gorgeous and I love the accents so
Let's go New Zealand
Entering Germany. It's like a cook. Thank you. I want to see I want to see I want to see
I want to see
I want to see
I want to see
I want to see
I want to see
I want to see
I want to see
I want to see
I want to see
I want to see I want to see Fancy a ride? Here we go. Kermit and Piggy
topiaries have made their way over to Germany.
Right next to the train.
It looks like there's a...
Would you call him a conductor?
Sure is dressed like one.
He looks like a train conductor. Thank you. I would very much like to record the American Adventure Show, but Pete apparently has other plans
because that's where he goes to nap.
Sure is.
I blame my parents, man.
We used to come here and they used to take us in there to take a nap in the middle of
the day.
But you're supposed to learn about history, Pete.
So now five minutes in, everyone knows about history so now five minutes in everyone knows that keeps sleeping
so maybe we'll save that for another time when you don't want to hear snores
of Pete Of course in front of the Liberty Theater, American Adventure, you can hear it.
It's fountain time. So we might not be taking in the American Adventure, but we're going to come in and
listen to the voices of liberty. Here in the rotunda.
We are the voices of liberty.
America, America, the land of the free, the red, white, and blue still waits.
So who reigned for the red, white, and blue. Thy banners make dear and each and all.
So hooray for the red, white, and blue.
So hooray for the red, white, and blue.
May it flame as our standard forever.
The gem of the land and the sea.
The banner of the land and the sea The banner of the right
Let our hearts remember the day
When our fathers were flying ever
To claim as they marched to the grave
And fly their flag by their right
In which time to tell you I'm still a rookie And by their might I can race forever
By their might
I can race forever
Oh you're a grand old flag
You're a high-five flag
And it'll never peace any way
The emblem of the land I love
The home of the free and the brave
Every heart beats true
For the bread I knew
And there's never a post or brand
Should old acquaintance be forgot
Keep your eye on that grand old flag
America, America, the red and white and blue, still the way of the red, white, and blue.
Thanks, Nia, for spending a little time with us.
In every Disney animated film,
content artists, film screeners, and animators fill the screen.
Together, songwriters and animators
create worlds, define characters,
and take money into business.
I'm up to get through this.
Two, two, two, two, two, two, two.
You've got a friend in me.
You've got a friend in me.
You've got a friend in me.
You've got troubles I've got to.
There isn't anything I wouldn't do for you.
We're sick together, we can see it through.
Cause you've got a friend in me.
Yeah, you've got a friend in me.
Do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do.
Mr. Alastor, what will your pleasure be?
Take your order, jot it down
You may never have a friend like me, no, no, no
Life is your restaurant and we all be on a made-in-me
Whisper what it is you want
You may never have a friend like me And I'll say so
I still will answer
And I'll wish you two or three
When you're on the job
You'll make me laugh
You ain't never had a friend
You ain't never had a friend
You ain't never
Had a
Never, never, never had a
Friend
You've got a friend in me You've got a friend in me Never have I, never, never, never have I
You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me
You ain't never had one like me
Something we like to do here at Voices for Liberty is Thank you. Just a song at twilight And the lights are low
And the flickering shadows
Stop, become, and go
For the hearty we'll be
Saturday and long
Still to us at twilight comes love's own song. Comes the dawn
Sweet
Sun To dream in the past and to live
To fly in the unbeatable foe.
To bear with unbearable scorn.
For to run with a brave dare not go.
To ride in the unrivaled brawl.
To love your will chase from afar
To shine, your arms are to reach
To reach the unreachable sky
That sky
This is my place, my place, my place, my place.
No matter what, no matter what.
To fight for the right, and the right to be a part of the cause.
To be willing to fight to have a heavenly, heavenly God
And I know it will only be true let go when I lay to rest. And the world will be better for this.
That was man's sword and covered with stars.
Still strong with his last ounce of courage.
To dream the impossible dream.
To fight the unbeatable flow
To reach
Oh, to reach
The unreachable star
The unreachable star. The unreachable star.
The unreachable star. America Gardens Theatre, we've got Simple Plan tonight.
Thank you.
We love you Disney World!
We're gonna send a light straight to your face. We're gonna send a dot to your head. We are the best! What is life? What is life? To be her, to be her, to be her, what is life?
To be a kid, to be a little girl, to be a little girl, to be a little girl, to be a little girl
I'm feeling all the after-priced tonight
And I want to dedicate you
So you don't know what it's like
What is life? What is life?
To be her, to be hurt, to be hurt
To be a man, to be a man
To be a kid, to be a child
To be a boy, to be a boy
To be a man, to be a man
To be a man, to be a man
I don't know what it's like
I don't know what it's like Welcome to my life
Welcome to my life
Everybody all together
You're beautiful. Thank you so much. We'll see you guys at 645. Peace!
Alright, so now the crowds are
coming out of the theater
from Simple Plan.
Flooding back into the World Showcase.
Heading toward Morocco. It's quite busy up here.
Quite busy.
But still very comfortable. I don't know.
You guys have to see.
You're going to be laughing.
It's coming off.
You guys have to see.
You're going to be laughing.
It seems to have been a musical adventure today.
Let's see if we can hit up one more of the World Showcase bands.
Either...
Albertabound?
Yeah, either Albertabound Canada or see if there's anybody over in Great Britain.
As long as they didn't start recording.
It is a bit misty now.
I'm a little disappointed they didn't play perfect.
That's at the next set.
I'm not going to lie.
I'm sorry.
It's okay.
I don't know if you know Simple Plan
Simple Pan
Simple Plan
Simple Plan listeners
travelers
but
they introduced them
as the legendary
band
Pete and I were debating
whether
whether they could
they could live up to that title
but
legendary is a stretch.
Let's just put it that way.
They're good.
I think people would know them.
Maybe a song or two,
but they don't have like 10 songs
that anyone knows.
Legendary maybe for Epcot.
That's even maybe a stretch, but sure.
They did play Welcome to My Life. You know Simple Plan. They played it.
Sounded good. They sounded really good. These guys have been around for 20 years.
And they have a new album. Good for them.
Passing through France and the rain has picked up.
Everybody's scurrying to get ponchos. Pass over the bridge from France into the UK. International Gateway to our left where you can jump on the Skyliner, something Pete does
quite often. A few times, here and there. Don't see anyone in the band shell gazebo in the UK 7 will be the next one.
Get to Canada and the rain stops. Let's see if we can catch a song or two here in Canada. Just a few minutes. And welcome to the Mill Stage.
Epcot is proud to present Alberta Bound,
a musical group that showcases traditional music from all across Canada.
Put your hands together for Alberta Bound! I was stranded in some tiny town on Feb and said goodbye
Waiting for a shoot to come, I find it
What was place, a friendly face, a coffee and a china trace
I'm in the distance, but I'm not here Thank you. I heard that I can't remember when
I think I heard it from someone
I've never heard it sound so sweet
Since then Let's play it. We'll be right back. There's magic in the way they suss me and the way they put em down
Sometimes on December nights with the arrow held in the moon is rough
There's a melody that passes through the stars
Just like this Thank you so very much, everyone. We do appreciate that.
Welcome to Canada. I am April, and we are Alberta Bound.
And we're going to do a wonderful variety of music for you folks.
And we just started with a Canadian folk favorite called the Ballad of St.
Anne's Reel. Now before we get started how are you guys so dry? You managed to stay dry this whole
time or are you just dried off already? Is that that's what's going on? Well you know I saw some
of you over here shaking just a little bit just so you know the dance floor is open so if you feel
like it just help yourself We don't mind at all
We're going to do a little medley of songs
By a man often referred to as
Canada's greatest songwriter
And his name is Gordon Lightfoot
And we're going to feature the fellas on this one
Starting with Greg, here we go Thank you. I said, now the fields of the dead, with the gales of no-back-up comedy.
Oh, we've got an arm of 26,000 tons of water, and the air of each jam is weighted three.
