Welcome back to Walk About The World and hello travelers from the Hollywood that never was
and always shall be, will be one of those.
Let's take a walk and get some of the sounds of the studios up in our ear holes.
Hopefully that's not weird.
But if it is, that's okay.
Let's go. I'm going to go ahead and get my coffee. One of my favorite all-time water features in any of the parks is this green stone circular fountain at the confluence of Sunset and Hollywood Boulevards.
Sky is blue, the air is a little crisp for Florida, and it is beautiful out.
Tailors to the stars across the way, and right beside me the sign that says, Visit Beautiful
Hollywood, home of the silver screen stars, and it has the red trolley car with Hollywood
Boulevard on it.
Love it.
Let's take a stroll down through Sunset Boulevard. I'm so excited!
I'm so excited! Second floor of the Sunset Couture building has a window that says,
Dog's Best Friend Incorporated Stunt Dogs.
Or Director's Best Friend, I'm sorry.
Director's Best Friend Stunt Dogs.
I've actually never seen that. Oh yeah, I did I was gonna go Guys, take care of that Now we're going
Oh yeah, oh yeah
Oh yeah
It's a real dream that we had
To be alive
And to be real again
And to be real again
And we could ride
To fly away
And we could walk To move You and the Beast on your right
and Hollywood Tower Hotel directly in front of you with a 105 minute wait. Ouch! Screams of some fellow travelers means they're just having a great time. Hey!
You have to stop.
You have to stop.
Carthay Circle.
Passing on your left. Let's take a stroll around Echo Lake.
Hey, Mr. and Mrs. Incredible are greeting guests by the lake today.
I didn't know that was a thing.
And they've got quite a line. Passing Hollywood and Vine
tune in lounge straight ahead
man that sounds good about now
entrance to Echo Lake Apartments
here
man I want to live there
have you guys seen this detail?
If you're facing the entrance to Tune In Lounge, to your left, an iron gate with Echo Lake Apartments. ss down the hatch directly across echo lake and one of the cool things about this time of year
is the echo lake ducks have little ducklings and um i see three out here on the water right now
and they are little i'm talking about less than the size of this microphone.
Little guys, fuzzy little guys.
But they're cute.
Do you ever just think I would like the life of an Echo Lake duck?
Just me?
Cruise around, eat whatever ducks eat, plus french fries?
All right, let's go.
Our food is ready. You ready?
Yes.
Where are you?
Come on. Gertie the dinosaur is
In front of you and above you
She's puffing smoke out of her
Nose Woo! Thank you. Another bonus of this time of year in Central Florida
is the star jasmine is blooming,
and it smells like honey outside.
Ah.
All around Echo Lake, well, okay,
on the side here where the Hyperion Theater is,
a large part of the perimeter of the lake is lined with jasmine, and it is in bloom, and it's wonderful.
Speaking of the Hyperion, we have recorded that show for you guys, and it's coming up soon.
The Frozen Show.
Mickey Short's Theater on your right
and the Oasis Canteen to your left.
Backlot straight ahead.
Let's wander down towards
Baseline. Let's wander down towards baseline. There are very few food items that I crave at the parks, believe it or not. And one of them, and it's not original, is the chicken nuggets and fries at Backlot.
Sometimes Heather and I will come here just for that.
I can't help it. It's good.
Okay, we, here. Oh, okay. That one.
There's another one.
There's another one.
There's another one.
There's another one.
There's another one.
There's another one.
All over you.
Oh, Alex.
Alex.
Alex. Alex! Alex! I had to pause for a minute by Star Tours.
Ten minute wait, but I'm not going to do it.
But the AT-AT was firing.
You get to hear some of the Star Wars music, which is cool.
Do you guys remember, have you been coming here long enough to remember the Jedi Training Academy? Where the younglings would all be given their little Jedi robes and they would go and be trained and they would face Vader?
Because that was so great.
And I miss it. It was fun to watch.
Okay, here we are.
Sci-fi dining ahead, and here's Baseline. Oh, look at this.
So that's... I'm going to go to the next one. No, that's okay. I can get like, drugs. No, yeah. Definitely.
I don't need either.
I love you.
I love you enough to keep me safe.
I think this world is going to be the same.
I don't need this. I don't know.
Baseline will surprise you, so I always check these days to see if there's seats inside,
and it seemed really crowded.
But when you go inside, there were seats.
Be hard pressed to find a better place to have a drink and pass the day away for a little while than Baseline.
Grand Avenue now. I'm going to go back to the other side of the crowd because it sounds a lot longer.
Yeah.
The other side was more open. yeah
over there We got a little bit of water Here's the piggy fountain
Which is beautiful but guys they got rid of the wretched refuse.
We've pointed that out to you before.
The rats in the boat.
The boat was named the wretched refuse, and it's gone.
I don't understand why things are being taken from the piggy fountain.
That said, man, it smells delicious right here.
It's not pizza, so it must be Mama Melrose's.
The city's top rated pizza ahead. FY, it's a happy room. I don't think we take a stroll around here very much,
and there's unfortunately not a lot back here anymore other than Mama's
because the Christmas store is still closed, apparently forever.
But let's take a walk.
You guys can smell Mama Melrose's kitchen.
Oh, dang, you can't.
But I do love the Muppets, and I love this area.
I love the theming.
Engine Company No number one ahead.
Right next to the tomato loading zone.
With a crate above
that says Heckler brand crushed tomatoes.
These must be the good throwing kind.
The good throwing tomatoes.
Parkside Antiques.
It's a wonderful Christmas shop.
Sorry we are closed.
Guys, it's a great little shop.
Why can't we open that?
Mama Melrose straight ahead

We love mamas, by the way.
Pretty sure I've said that about a dozen times.
The food is consistent, if not wonderful,
but the atmosphere is great,
and we always get great service.
I just love it in there.
Fits my Hobbit routine pretty well.
This lovely dark
eating establishment. I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it. so
