Hi, welcome back to Walk About the World for this week's episode.
I am Chaney Hunt, your new Walt Disney World correspondent.
You may recognize my voice, but I am Chaney Hunt, Jeremy Hunt's daughter, obviously the host.
But today I'm just going to be
doing a short trip here at Hollywood Studios. I don't have a ton of goals in
mind other than I want to look at some of those shops to see if they have any
WandaVision or Scarlet Witch merch. I'm going to Disney's California Adventure
for the first time later this month so I want to see if there's anything cool
Marvel related that maybe I could wear when I go.
And also I want to try the new cold brew at Star Wars Galaxy's Edge.
It's called the Cold Brew Black Calf, I think.
So yeah, just join me along in this little adventure and I guess we'll see what we get
into.
The first shop over here to the left side of the park if you're entering is I think it says Mickey's of Hollywood. This shop has mostly just like regular Disney merch, so like Mickey and Friends, Pixar, etc.
So I'm actually not going to continue looking at this one because it's super crowded and I don't think it has what I need.
It's such a pretty day here in Orlando, Florida, but it is brutally hot. The car said 91. I think my weather app said it feels like 96 with humidity, so it's a little testy, but
I'm a Floridian. I could do this, right?
Here, let's walk through the shop.
Okay, so finally I'm going to Keystone Clothiers.
Half of this store is Marvel merch and the otheriverse of Madness merch.
They have a lot of new Spider-Man stuff.
Whoa.
That is the last thing you need. Um, they have a cool water bottle that has Scarlet Witch on it.
It's $19.99.
I already have a lot of water bottles, so I don't think I need that right now.
They do have a cute, I think it's a, it's a little, yeah, it's a backpack backpack. It's like denim and it's based off of America Travis' jacket.
So cute, but not what I'm looking for.
They do have this crossbody bag that looks like Captain America's shield.
They have a lot of new stuff actually, just not really the characters I'm looking for
they have a new um plush like a little almost like a pillow. It says Miss Minutes from Loki. It's so cute!
And she is $26.99.
It looks like they also just got in the new Marvel Pride collection. It's really cute. Yes, ma'am. Ooh, they have a new section for the Ms. Marvel series. They have a jacket.
Oh my gosh, so cute. And they have a baseball hat that has her logo on it.
That's actually so cute.
It's $30.
I'm not really seeing anything particular I want, so let's move on to new Star Wars Mickey ears. One side is the Imperial side and the other one is the Rebel Legion side.
I guess it's Rebel lines.
But they glow up and they have little lightsabers that
cross in the middle where normally like a bow would be on the mini ears and they
light up it looks like
this store has a tiny little Indiana Jones section but it's been the same
merch for like five years, so
Looks like they have one no two, two shirts for the Obi-Wan series.
They have a cute water bottle that is, it's a Star Wars water bottle and it has
pictures of I think it's the Kenner action figures from A New Hope and the
water bottle water bottle color is yellow and the top is blue the bottom is
pink it's really cute very vintagey looking but I think I'm gonna leave once again I'm not really
seeing anything I like today at the store a lot of the Star Wars stuff is
mostly just baby Yoda which I do love my man Grogu but I wish they had like
prequels merch that's my jam so I'm just gonna continue looking around around Right now I'm on Sunset Boulevard.
To the right is the Starbucks and also the Legends of Hollywood store.
That's where I'm heading.
To the left, there's a store, I'm not sure what's it called.
I think it's called the Beverly Sunset,
but that used to be a candy shop back in the day.
And they also had, I think, Pixar merch for a while, but I don't know why it's closed now.
I wish they would have something in there.
That's such a good location.
So now I'm going on to the store on the right.
So the first half of the store is Pandora, which is a jewelry company. So many pretty pieces, but I'm not looking for a bracelet today. They have some cute bags from the brand.
I think it's called Stony Clover Lane.
So cute.
I like their crossbody satchel type thing. I have a bit from their
Target collection but they don't have the pattern I really like so I don't think I I wanted in that store so now I just took a little u-turn onto Sunset
Boulevard.
Then I'm gonna head towards Galaxy Station now but I'm gonna go the way that you pass
by Star Tours because I want to look into that Star Tours shop because I'm wondering if they have any
pieces from the brand Her Universe I love that brand
or any stuff from the Obi-Wan series that'd be really cool
but for now let's listen to the sounds of Hollywood Bullet Lord.
Kind of sad they didn't have much Scarlet Witch merch at all at the store because she's
such a main character in that film, Monty Burst Madness.
So I'm hoping maybe Disneyland and California Adventure will come through, maybe have some
stuff at a vendor's campus possibly.
She's my favorite, as you can probably tell. Charlie's out.
I think he's being like, no more. That's a curb.
It looks like Dockside Diner is open, which is one of the quick services.
And sometimes it's not open, but definitely is today.
There's tons of people lined up for it and almost every single table over here is full
of people eating
by the way dockside diner it looks like you're ordering from a little boat on
echo lake
see I love frozen I've never done the frozen sing-along maybe someday I will do
it I don't really think I'm in the mood to do that today I definitely want to do
it soon maybe with my mom she also loves frozen fun fact frozen 2 is my favorite
Disney animated film This part of the park in particular doesn't have a ton of shade so I kind of just look And that is really hot.
Right now I'm passing the Indiana Jones show spectacular. It's on my left. When I was entering the park I heard it going on, but I don't think they have a show going on right now there's quite a
bit of a gap of time between each show I could be wrong I think it's like around
30 minutes or something Ooh, by Star Tours, there is quite a little crowd. I'm surprised.
I love Star Tours. My favorite scene is when we go to Otagunga, which is where Jar Jar's from.
I just think it's so cool when you go underwater.
I miss the days when kids would come and battle Darth Vader on the stage to
the left of it
really for the crowd over here 25 minutes from Star Tours is not bad at
all however I'm gonna try to go on the store over here the store i'm thinking about i think
it's called tatooine traders yes and the store is like when you exit the ride you enter the store
does that make sense Oh, they do have new stuff in here.
Most of it, though, is from the vintage Kenner collection.
The lounge fly with all the action figures in the front.
They also have the Star Wars pride collection here.
And a lot of plushies.
It looks like they emptied out the store though.
There's not a not a long other side
one of the main parts of the store is the section where you can build your own lightsaber, like little plastic lightsabers.
I don't think they're too expensive, but with the sign they have different Jedi and Sith
from Star Wars and they finally put Ahsoka on there, so that makes me happy.
Ahsoka is my childhood.
The bathrooms are all Star Wars in it too. Okay, now I'm heading into Galaxy's Edge.
Always when you enter the street that goes into Galaxy's Edge from the Star Wars area,
it looks so crazy crowded.
But you get into it and it's really not that bad.
I think that it is Grand Avenue.
And over here, this is where they used to have the
writer's stop I'm sure Jeremy's dad has talked about it before but man I love
that place someone is a place where you could read books that they have there
they had a coffee tea yes I had cookies I think we used to always get like the
oatmeal cookie I miss those. I love this new Hollywood
Studios too.
The music in Grand Avenue is so good! Awesome. Now we're in Galaxy's Edge, entering where Rise of the Resistance is. It needs more foliage and more shade.
I wonder how long this line is.
It's not like... Oh, wait.
It is actually really full.
Never mind.
Oh, boy.
110 minutes.
Almost two hours long.
This ride is really good, and it's such a long ride that I feel like the long waiting time
kind of justified for it.
Because part of the queue line is the ride itself.
When the parks first reopened in 2020, I managed to do it twice.
There was barely a line at all.
But I don't think you could do that again
right now I'm just looking at of Rey merch over here, Millennium Falcon merch.
Ooh, they have a cool poncho slash cloak that looks like, I'm just going to say poncho,
the poncho that Leia wears at Return of the Jedi on Endor.
It looks just like that.
So cute. I feel like I said cute so many times today.
You can start counting if you want.
I think the Black Calf
cold brew is in the marketplace, so that's where I'm heading right now.
This is a busy park day, but I've definitely seen way busier.
I was expecting a lot more, so I'm very happy about that. Okay, now we are entering the marketplace.
I love this area.
This is definitely my favorite section of Galaxy's Edge. edge
she is a little bit packed today I will say Okay cool, the line for the drinkiked black cap, which is the alcoholic version, which I'm obviously not getting today.
And then the regular one, the regular one is $5.49, and the spiked one is $14 even.
So I'll read it to you.
So the black cap cold brew is the drop-free coffee cold brew topped with sweet cream cheese
and chocolate
puffs i'm honestly kind of scared with sweet cream cheese i don't love cream cheese
but i'm hoping it's kind of similar to um who's starbucks is like uh the nelson cold foam Have you all tried the outpost popcorn mix before?
They sell it here and I see people walking around with it all the time but I don't...
It says a colorful blend of sweet and savory flavors, like what... what flavors?
Like is it salty and sweet just like salt and sugar or...
I mean probably not but it looks kind really like kettle corn if I'm being honest
I am back with the culver in hand so I'm gonna taste it live.
I don't know, it looks good.
It doesn't look as like, foamy as expected if I'm being honest.
I thought I was gonna have like way more of it.
I'm mixing it together after taking a picture because I want to taste it balanced.
Okay, here it goes.
Hmm.
It's good.
Hmm. The cold brew itself is not very sweet to my surprise.
Like I'm mixing it together a lot with the cream cheese foam.
It really doesn't taste like anything.
I'm really just tasting the cold brew.
I'm exposing myself here, but I may or may not work at one of the coffee establishments
that is served here in the Vaultation World Parks.
That sells cold brew.
Like, you know, it's a cool cold brew.
And this cold brew right here tastes just like the plain cold brew from Starbucks, if I'm being honest.
It's still nice and refreshing. It's not as sweet as expected.
I kind of just wish I had a cup full of the Cocoa Puffs.
Oh, wait. Well, I had to rate it from a 1 out of 5, I would say.
She's getting a 2.
She's getting a 2.
I'm still drinking it all, because I'm not wasting that $5, but, yeah, it's okay.
I will try the one in Disneyland, because everyone says the Disneyland one tastes way better than the Disneyland one.
But it's okay.
It's nice and refreshing. I need that little hit of caffeine.
Ooh, looks like there's stormtroopers up above where they have the speeders.
Walking right past them right now.
Maybe he's jealous of my cold brew.
Keeps staring at me
i love seeing the characters roam
i'm jealous that we don't have the boa fett and fennec shan i could do at disneyland but that's
okay because it also i think they said that that the Mandalorian and Grogu were coming,
but I don't know if that's here or Disneyland.
Not sure.
I feel like if this cold brew had maybe some like vanilla syrup in it it would
be top tier. I feel like it would be so good but that's okay.
Maybe Disney just needs me on the culinary team right? Just kidding. There's a huge line for the Legacy lightsabers.
My goodness.
I don't think there's one for like the...
Look at the merch.
I saw S.
Excuse me, is there a line to look at not the Legacy lightsabers, but like just the regular stuff?
No, you can just go around.
Okay, thank you.
This box, you open the box.
Look at the Legacy lightsabers!
Awesome, now I'm in the Duck On Door shop.
Oh, they do have some new stuff.
They look like, almost looks like athletic.
The shirt that has the Jedi symbol on it.
It's a dark turquoise color.
I heard they had a Soka merch, so that's what I'm looking for.
I'm seeing someone buy the dark saber.
I'm jealous.
We have to be at this line right here to move up. Amanda, it looks like they don't have the Sofa merch.
That's okay. I assume probably this is Disneyland.
Okay, I know I was giving this cold brew like kind of a bit of crap, but after walking around
with it, drinking it, it's actually pretty good if I'm being honest.
If you don't like super sweet stuff, I think you'd like it. Oh my. The line for Smuggler's Run is
105 minutes. It's normally when Rise of the Resistance is like 100 something minutes.
This ride is always quite shorter, so I'm honestly shocked. And of course over here to the left is
Oga's Cantina and there's a huge line. It's really hard to find dining
reservations here unless it's like 60 days in advance and you're like on it.
I don't think they have walk-ups. I got you with this!
There's also a lot of stormtro looked by the blue milk and green milk stall there's a section where you can refill
your water bottle it's not water fountain it's a you like put your water bottle on
it and it like spits this.
It's there.
I think it's filtered water too.
It tastes better than the regular water fountain in my opinion.
Free water.
It's the best water.
Okay.
So, I'm going to go into the droid store.
I don't remember the name.
Not building a droid, but I just want to stare at the chopper I'm so tempted to buy him, but I don't know.
If you're not a Star Wars person like me, Chopper is the main droid of the Ghost Club.
And they're from the animated show Star Wars Rebels.
That was my show growing up. I love Star Wars Rebels.
So Chopper has a special place in my heart. He's got a spunky and kind of
I don't know, annoying
personality per se, but
he's really funny.
Okay.
So I've basically done a full
week of Galaxy's Edge.
So, I don't
think
I am going to do really anything else here today.
Except for maybe wander around Galaxy's Edge a little bit more.
Maybe look at more sites, see if I can find more characters. So I think I honestly am going to leave it off here.
Thank you for joining us this week and joining me along on this little mini-adventure,
