Also it's 80 and I don't know what to do with myself because it's been just like
blazingly hot. Can you hear where we are? I have Pete with me. Pete how you doing?
I'm doing great. How are you doing Jeremy? I'm enjoying not roasting. Oh by the way
welcome back to Walk About the World and hello travelers from the Hollywood that never was and always will be.
We are at Prospect Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard.
Quite people-y this morning.
Did you know if they used all the tap styles today?
I don't think I've seen that.
I haven't seen that in ages.
Forever.
That doesn't bode well for, like, trying to do stuff, though.
Pete, is it 5 and 10 or 5 and dime?
It's 5 and dime, for sure.
Yeah, 5 and dime for me as well.
5 and dime on the right.
Mickey and Minnie's way down the way.
Keystone Clothier's to the left.
And Trolley Car, a.k.a. Starbucks, to your right.
We're here to meet up with some listeners who may or may not want to be on mic.
We will see.
Let's take a left.'re on echo lake indiana jones full effect
the booming stuff what is not in full effect is the indiana jones store
that had a really good drink that I wanted.
As a matter of fact, Heather asked me about that yesterday.
She says, we're going to have to go back over there and get that drink at the Indiana Jones store.
And I'm like, baby, I'm sorry, it's gone.
Oh, it is?
Yeah. I haven't been back since.
Yeah.
It's closed now.
It's shut down.
R.I.P.
Okay, Pete, left or right? Left.
There's your Indiana Jones for you. Max doing it.
Oh, Max is meeting and greeting by Echo Lake today.
The SS down the hatch is there, and the fountain is fountaining,
and the Disney ducks are out there doing whatever the heck they do.
One of them is almost under the fountain, which I find hilarious.
He's, like, almost under the water, but no.
And there's Gertie.
When's the last time you've been to Tune-In, Pete?
Tune-In Lounge?
A couple months.
A couple months. A couple months.
I think I ducked in there when it was pouring one day.
And, you know, when in Rome, you had to have a drink while I was there.
It's been a minute for me, but I love it in there.
Also, I wanted to ask somebody else other than my wife this, because we both have the same memory.
So, like, inside TuneIn, I thought they used to have bar stools or seats at
the at the bar did they used to or am i making that up i think i think you're right i think
you're right about the bar the bar stools but i feel like even pre-covid i think they got rid of
them because i think you can serve more people if people are standing to go to the bar and you're
promoting people leaving yeah you know Instead of sitting and hanging out.
I still like to sit and hang out, though.
I agree.
I agree.
It's a great place, but we're about making money at Disney.
Full disclosure, I was doing some editing yesterday,
and I was laughing at my own recording saying it would be fun
if I could put a cash register sound in
because I was in the Emporium and I did.
I actually took the time to go look up a cash register sound so
it's super dumb.
You guys will hear it.
Is Gertie's ice cream open?
Why?
Yes, it is.
Are you interested?
I'm interested.
Go ahead.
What?
Go ahead.
Oh, no.
Feel free, though.
Are you sure?
Yeah, I just had breakfast.
Put an ice cream on top of a sausage biscuit, and it's called first aid tent.
Ice cream?
Yeah.
I have chocolate twist. Twist is great. Yeah. Is that free, boss? That's free. It's called First Aid Tent.
Oh, is that it?
Yeah, this is the cup.
Oh my gosh, what the heck?
I know, man.
Uh, no, man.
I'll have a waffle cone.
That's a bad deal.
What the heck?
That was it?
I was like, is this a prank?
Yeah, that was it.
Don't get the cup here.
Don't get the cup, get the waffle cone.
Twist, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, the cup is like the size of a pup cup at Starbucks.
Pete was like, what? No. All right, to your left indiana jones i can see the cool
i would like to call it a jeep but i'm not sure if it's a jeep
it's an old beat-up tan vehicle that looks super awesome and from the original movie Welcome to the Walkabout Meditation channel.
Breathe in through your nose.
Deep breath out through your mouth.
What do you think, Pete?
So small.
Good.
Good or bad, though?
Soft serve is always good.
Always good.
Passing the Gertie the Dinosaur footprints.
You do know about those, right?
Heading to the lake.
You only see a couple, and I wonder where she walked from
like where was she originally
when she
decided to plow into Echo Lake
and stay there
and did she jump from her one foot
some repairs were needed
after Gertie arrived
do we know where our listeners are?
Galaxy's Edge.
Let's head towards the edge of the galaxy.
Breathe deeply, because right here is Epic Eats, which is the funnel cakes.
Ah. eats which is the funnel cakes smell the calories
you ever had a beverage I have not haveanteen? I have not had a beverage from Oasis Canteen.
I've often looked at it, but we just never have.
That's the Indiana Jones kind of like, I'm not going to say pop-up,
but it's a little outdoor walk-up bar by Indiana Jones around the corner.
Backlot Express, straight ahead. Celebrity Spotlight, meet Olaf.
20 minutes.
I don't know if I just haven't paid attention,
but I actually had no idea about that.
What did the guy at the ice cream place say
about the microphone?
He asked me what that was.
Oh, okay.
I just was walking away,
and I heard Pete say, it's a microphone.
I said, what's that say?
And I said, it's a microphone.
We do a podcast.
He said, what's a podcast?
And then I told him.
He said, cool.
What's a podcast?
No, what podcast?
Oh, I was about to like super judge that guy.
Okay, what podcast?
Got it, got it, got it.
It's called Waffle Cone in my mouth.
The Ewoks are to your left.
In the Star Wars store that I always love, but it's so super crowded.
I avoid it most of the time now
Pete's got ice cream all over himself
get a napkin at baseline
go to the Royal Flush and wash my hands. That's a good call.
There's a construction wall around the corner of Muppets Courtyard
where you would be able to look to the left and see the Royal Flush.
Maybe Pete knows. I have no idea what's going on over there.
Well, I think our friend Greg at the Fanatics
outed it the other day.
Oh, really? What is it?
He said it was Joffrey's.
Oh, okay.
Joffrey's kiosk. That makes sense.
It's about that size.
I mean, I
don't know if that's confirmed, but
I do remember saying that.
I'll give him the credit.
Credit to the Disney Fanatics blog for that one.
Wait a minute.
They have hedge barriers around the Muppets fountain.
Standing, looking at Pizza Rizzo,
looking down towards
Engine Company No. 1.
Around the corner is Mama Melrose's.
I think we have a reservation for her sometime soon.
It's been a while since we've been in there.
Guys, I just have to tell you,
it's been a long summer,
and your humble host is over the heat, if I haven't mentioned that like five times already.
But it feels, it feels kind of great, especially in the shade.
I don't see that very often these days.
All right, working our way back to Grand Avenue, taking a left.
Off in the distance, I see the goof no not max the actual goof himself Passing Harmony Music, which is part of the Grand Lofts building. Ambience change in 3, 2, 1. We're now off planet
Welcome to Galaxy's Edge
Batuu
Black Spire
It's like three things, right?
Just keep going
A.K.A.
A.K.A.
So I was watching Rebels
the other night A.K.A. A.K.A. So I was watching Rebels the other night,
A.K.A. Ahsoka,
because it's like the next season of Rebels,
but I'm probably the last person to recognize this,
but the Phantom is the small ship
that's attached to the Ghost,
and it looks to me exactly like the ship
that sits on top of Docking Bay 7.
Am I...
I didn't even notice. I didn't even recognize that.
I decided I'm going to look at it carefully today, but if it is, that's really cool. Yeah, a little bit of a bottleneck here by the old X-Wing.
The population has increased.
It has.
It has. I still want to see more weird aliens walking around and stuff and droids and things. easy animal
some of these trees back here are just leafing out like it's spring.
I think they're confused.
But it is Florida, so...
Whoa, whoa, whoa.
It's not Florida.
We're not in Florida.
Oh, what am I talking about?
This is some faraway galaxy place.
No wonder they're confused.
Yes.
Alright, passing under the archway that leads across over to where the Ront's are being roasted you probably hear the hissing sound
it's not.
All right, the land speeder repair bay to your right.
Some of the best radio.
Taking a left?
Yeah.
Yeah, so check it out.
That's the ship up there that I'm talking about.
I don't know.
Yeah, I was going to say. I don't know. I don't know.
I don't think it's it. I think it's close.
It's pretty darn close though, for real.
Anyway, off we go.
We don't collect a lot, but recently here at
Doc Ondar's Den of Iniquities, they've had
a 30% discount on lightsaber hilts.
And I purchased a classic Obi-Wan that I've wanted for years.
I feel pretty good about that.
It's antiquities, I know, I know, I know.
Iniquities.
Iniquities.
We went to the police academy together.
That dude went to the police academy with somebody.
Okay.
So I'm going to go wander down and see the falcon.
I think our listeners are finishing up their meal and interrupting a meal is rude. The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The

I'm not a big Star Wars fan.
What?
I just heard that.
Alright, coming up on the
beautiful hunk of junk.
The aluminum Falcon.
75 minutes
standby. Ouch!
There it goes.
We're going to take off soon.
One of our goals here soon,
Heather and I are going to bring our lightsabers over here at night
because it's getting dark now around 7,
which is awesome.
And my daughter has a lightsaber too.
We might all three come.
We used to do that quite often in the evenings,
and it's just cool because lots of people
have their lightsabers out,
and it's just a fun vibe. Oga's around the corner
line is absolutely stacked out
it's been a while
since we've been there, we need to do that too gorgeous blue sky out this morning
you can almost believe it's fall
except for the fact
it's going to be
95 degrees today
alright I'll shut up about the heat.
Alright, we'll catch up with you guys in a minute.
Here's the milk stand. Fresh squeezed Bantam milk, baby.
Actually, I think the blue is supposed to be Bantam milk,
and the green is from that
horrifically obnoxious creature on...
Oh, I'm forgetting the planet where Luke Skywalker was.
Just saw some Disney bounding Leia and Han walk by which is really cool. If you ask me what my favorite of the two milks is it's neither I think they're both
nasty please forgive me. Try them both. Gross.
Ah, I see Pete, and I see our listeners.
Sweet.
All right, we'll check in here in a second.
So, we are here next to beautiful hunk of junk.
The middle of the plaza next to the Falcon,
and we have met up with some listeners.
Sir and ma'am, who are you, and where do you come from,
if that's not a guarded secret?
It's not.
It's Bill, Bill Z's, Aaron.
Bill's wife.
And we come from Connecticut.
That's where the weather is way better than what we have.
Except for all the rain this day.
Maybe not today.
I don't know.
But, yeah, generally it's cooler.
I don't know if I would consider it better.
Well, I'm considering it better because it's not 95.
There's seasons up there.
They do.
We have hot and then not quite so hot.
But you guys are down vacationing how often, or not how often, but how long this time?
Five nights.
Five nights.
And how far in are you?
Three nights.
We leave Tuesday.
Yeah, we have two nights left.
All right, sweet.
Mid-trip.
Just watching their stories makes me exhausted.
Me too. Like, I don't know if you guys just have, drink like 12 coffees a day or what, but they're doing everything.
I saw them at the Springs last night, and they're doing like two and three places.
I'd be good to do one place at the Springs on a Saturday night.
Little 30-second update about the trip, like what you've been doing, what's fun, what's not.
It's been great.
I know we always go into the trip not wanting to do everything and take our time,
but I think that's the problem when you live in Connecticut. You never know next time you're
coming back. So we do. We rush through it, and that's kind of one of the things we want to change,
hopefully, if we can ever get down here. Extended period of time, then we can do what you guys do,
right? Do like a little walkabout. Is a move down here possible in the future? Oh yeah,
she's totally on board now. We just got to make it work.
Dude, we could always use more Orlando friends.
Come and bake with us.
I would love to.
I know.
We got to.
This place is great, and I want to be able to enjoy it slowly and mosey.
It's hard not to.
That's what we do.
Name change?
Mosey about the world. Mosey about the world.
Walk sounds too aggressive.
So what's on the docket for the rest of the day?
Then I'll shut up and leave you alone.
Well, I'm very excited. We're going to Flying Fish
tonight. We haven't been there yet.
So, very excited for that.
What do we got coming up in a few?
We're going to Oga's in a few minutes.
And we have a GD Plus today.
So, we're just trying to, like, you know.
What's the drink of choice at Oga's?
What do you guys want to drink?
Well, I want to try that, I don't know what it's called,
the blue wine.
Oh, you want that.
I've never tried that, so I'm going to give that a try.
What's the thing that makes your mouth numb?
I like that one.
The fuzzy tauntaun.
Yeah, that.
I still haven't had it.
I haven't had it either, I'm afraid.
The first time we were next to somebody at the bar
and she had a really bad reaction to it,
and the bartender had to talk her through that.
She was hyperventilating, and he was like,
you're fine, you can breathe, and it was like,
she was by herself, too.
Well, it's a good thing I don't have panic attacks ever,
because that would just be...
We were talking, and he's like, oh, I gave her this,
and he gave us the stuff that makes you feel that way.
And I just tried a tiny bit of it, and I literally couldn't understand why she couldn't breathe.
They put the fuzzy tauntaun on the counter, and they slide the EpiPen next to it.
Jeez.
Oh, wait.
Stormtroopers.
Stormtroopers.
Stormtroopers.
They're accosting somebody else Alright we're going to shut up now
And leave Bill and Aaron alone
Thanks guys nice to meet you
You too
Pete's still here just looking at me. That's true.
Oh. Every time I think it's to make it and it doesn't.

They're like, do you think they'll allow us to add too?
And I'm like, no.
And then boom.
So, enjoy. Namahe, my favorite. Come on, guys. Oh I'm going to go to the next venue. I can see Whoa Whoa.
Just got out of
Ogas thanks to Bill and Aaron Z's
for somehow finagling
us two extra spots.
We stood at the bar and
got, well Pete
mostly got persecuted
by the
bartender.
It was awesome.
But I thought before we head into Droid Depot,
I would stop by the refresher outflow pipes over here.
Just because I'm immature.
Uh-huh.
Oh, boy.
Yep.
Okay, time to move on.
There was no punchline.
That was it.
All right, we're headed back into planet Earth.
Hey, we're back.
Grand Avenue.
We said something about Disney at the bar in Ogas, and they said, we don't know about this.
Soak a poster up, looks awesome.
The bartender pointed to the knee and said, this knee?
Or that knee.
Or that knee.
Uh-huh.
Ogas was a good experience.
Pete got persecuted.
Thanks, Bill.
Appreciate it.
And Eric.
Yep. Back to Grand Avenue avenue it's peoply i can smell the various tones of sunscreen
smells like disney
you know what though you can tell out here even though's warm, you can tell that it's not, you know, June 1st, July 1st.
Oh, you sure can.
Like, the humidity is there, but it's not bad.
But it just doesn't have that, like...
Pain?
Whoa, it's so hot.
Temperature feeling.
All right, well, we're here next to the other Star Wars.
Ewok Village.
Ewok Village.
Oh, no.
I mean, well, yes, when I was like...
And I want to wrap up right here.
Thanks for hanging out with us today.
That's it from me.
That's it from Hollywood Studios.
I think that's it from Pete.
That's it from me as well.
