This week, a special episode where we focus on a single attraction. But before we get there, I want to mention that over on our Instagram account at walkaboutwdw, we recently had a contest, a giveaway, in partnership with the Adventurers Project that you can also find on Instagram by that name. And Adventurers Project is owned by producer Josh. And Josh created a run of stickers of our podcast logo that look great

and included a couple of those as well as an assortment of his own adventure themed stickers in the contest. And I just want to thank everyone who participated and congratulate the winner, Holly K. The stickers are on their way. We will be doing more giveaways like that in the future. And hopefully when the world gets back to normal, whatever normal will mean, we can have some meetups in the parks and give away some great stickers.

So thanks to the Adventures Project and congrats to Holly. Now, today we are going to release an attraction experience that's not a bonus episode. It'll be a full-length episode because we are headed over to the Enchanted Tiki Room. And the Tiki Room is a longer attraction, as you know, and we were also lucky enough to be literally the first people in the queue. So we spent some extended time in the queue, hearing the waterfall, hearing the tropical music behind it, which was great. And we recorded the entire pre-show and a little something to look for. As you guys probably already know, this attraction debuted in 1963 in Disneyland and was personally overseen by Walt. It was the first attraction to feature

audio animatronics. Everyone, media and visitors alike, were completely blown away by what they experienced. And so this attraction was ported later to Walt Disney World, and it was called the Tropical Serenade. And you can hear a callback to that original name in the pre-show if you listen closely. And whenever I attend this attraction, and we almost never skip it, frankly, because I know it can seem old, it can seem dated, but it is old like a classic car is old. It's a classic attraction. It's timeless. And I try to view it as much as I can through the eyes of someone who would have seen it in 1963 or the early 70s when it no doubt was a technological marvel. It was something that had never been done in entertainment. And as we know, audio animatronics were just literally a mainstay of entertainment in the parks for decades after. But this was the

first like it. And I try to view it like that, as something that's a piece of history. And so I'm going to drop you guys right into the action, not going to do an outro. We're going to allow the attraction to play us out, as it were. And so enjoy the tropical serenade, or the Enchanted Tiki Room.
