This is a longer episode because we walk from the entrance plaza all around World Showcase and back again. Hear bits from each pavilion, pause at every water feature we can find for a brief Walkabout meditation session, listen to Jeremy forget that the statue in Italy is indeed the god Neptune, not (sigh) King Triton - hey - it was late. On our way out of Showcase we stop by the Wine and Wedge festival food booth to try to the Boursin Fig Souffle and ... ya, well, just listen. Lastly, we end up back at the fountain and entrace plaza only to be played out by Maui himself.    As always, use good listening devices as we always record in 4 channel surround sound. Welcome back to Walk About the World and hello travelers from Epcot Center, you already knew that. Standing right directly across from the fountain and the prisms and it's evening. There's a slight breeze. The Epcot flags with all of the pavilion symbols are waving. It's just kind of peaceful. Also, for whatever reason, the old girl is packed tonight.

But if you are ready, and I think you are, let's go on a walk. And where we're going to go, I know not. But we'll go together. Ready? Let's get some fountain ambiance first I'm gonna say that every time apparently All right. Which way to go? Right underneath Bishop Earth now.

Gateway Gifts to your left. Camera Center to your right. And pin traders. Storbritannia Okay, let's take a right and go over towards the Land Pavilion. Passing the Seas to your right. The living seas where you can ride the hydrolator down to Sea Base Alpha. And hear about the deluge. Come on, you know what I'm talking about, right?

It wasn't always Nemo. Just passed a service doggy, and he is doing a great job all right i'll rejoin you here in a few as i hope you can hear, we are across from Imageworks and Figment. You're hearing the upside-down waterfall. Let's head out to Showcase. It is peoply here this evening, guys. I don't know what's going on.

A little behind the scenes. It's a weekday. Welcome to World Showcase. I found the people. Apparently all of them. By the way, here's Worldirled Showcase to the right where Starbucks used to be right at the entrance of Showcase. Ice cream shop.

First time I've seen it. Australia food booth here to the left. Let's do some showcase walking. Which means slow and dodging people. Now since I came to showcase via the land area, we're gonna turn right. That's not my natural direction here. I think you should go left towards Mexico. But we're already here, so let's head to Canada, which is one of Pete's favorite pavilions, and it's one meal over. guys I think I get it

it is food and wine and also a little Florida behind the scenes here it is currently 67 degrees. I can't wipe the smile off of my face. Anyway, so my point is that everybody their uncle and their aunt

is here because the weather is cool and they can chomp on some food and wine goodness passing Canada Pavilion now if you haven't had a moose head beer in Canada you're missing out

And if you ever happen to be in the Canada Pavilion and you have a moose head, take a picture and tag Neverland Local. I'm sure he would appreciate it. All right, UK ahead. I kid you not that in front of me is just a literal sea, just a wall of people.

I've rarely seen it this crowded, especially in an evening. The weather got in. I was like, I don't really know. All right, tell me whenever you want to call me back. Passing under the lighted little, what is this? It's like a little lighted topiary bridge where Alice often meets and greets.

And heading up towards the bridge, an international gateway. We're going to turn left and go to France. Ladies and gentlemen, that's probably not even a proper greeting these days, is it? How about people of Epcot? Welcome to France. Parlez-vous français?

Yeah, me either. I was just about to walk past it, but I can't. Let's take a little hit of the fountains here next to the Chef de France Here's your walkabout meditation time. Deep breath in through your nose. Ready? Breathe out through your mouth. You're welcome. Yeah, you know where we are now.

I'm sure you can't tell by the music, but you know what's next in line. We're at Morocco. Morocco. Which, strangely, is also home to the Belgium food booth. Who knew they were that close? If you've been coming here for any number of years, we are passing the Tangerine Cafe. And may I say R.I.P. Because it does, on occasion occasion offer some fabulous festival food.

I missed the old one. What can I say? And this central fountain in the courtyard here in Morocco is off. I was going to head over there for you. Never mind. Fun fact, there are orange trees here in the Epcot courtyard, Epcot, in the Morocco courtyard.

Three of them. And certain times of the year, they drop fruit. And I have grown two trees on my property from those seeds, from seeds of those oranges. And one I'm currently growing from seed now. It's a little guy, but I don't know. That's a fun thing for a plant guy like me passing them the grease booth it's not greasy but it is grease My fault.

Maybe. And just because I'm walking slowly, I'm following a gentleman here from Vandrees Potato Dairy Farm. Cornell, Michigan. Remember that pet peeve about stopping suddenly in a large crowd? You guys are holding it together. You know. We have made it to probably my favorite pavilion in all of Apricot. Japan. Japan. And because I have a blood oath to never pass Mitsukoshi without going in. Let's go in. Paper lanterns are lit. Buildings are illuminated here at Golden Hour. It is a gorgeous pavilion this time of evening. Welcome to Mitsukoshi.

One of the best places on the planet. Where we see, as soon as we walk in? Pocky. And Gudetama. And a vlogger that almost ran over me. Here we have Kawaii Zilla. Which as you can imagine is very cute. Some Animal Crossing merch which our family loves the crossing I don't know about you guys

here's Miyazaki merch over here. Always some of my favorites. Some bags and lunch boxes with Totoro and Kiki's Delivery Service. Here's a No Face bag. Creepy. Kiki's Delivery Service and Totoro Backpacks? Okay, we got our hit. Let's head out. I do have to tell you, one thing I don't get, I don't understand

Gudetama. I want to. But I don't. That's hilarious. I think we're alone. Alright. The red gate is in front of us, framing the now illuminated Spaceship Earth. Let's head on up the hill here to America.

Welcome to America. Oh, man. That young person's still having a rough time. Standing in front of the American Adventure. When you're here, is it like America squared? Hey, you know what fountain is working? America. America. That, as Pete would say, is a magical meltdown. I'm going to leave you here by the fountain.

Don't go anywhere while I take a drink. It's water. Abreu All right, tonight's featured band is Air Supply at the Eat to the Beat concert. I am a gentleman of a certain age. But I could not tell you one single song that Air Supply did. I feel bad. I'm sure Heather can, like, rattle them off. She's good at that. Okay, we're here by the fountain here.

On three. One, two... Yep, you're right. It's Italy. Man, that Joffrey's kiosk smells so good I'm at the point now I don't do evening coffee but I wanna There's one more show of air supply tonight, so a cast member tells me. And there is an incredibly long line of people waiting to get in.

Should we just do a tour of fountains? Here we go. Tour de Fontaine. Tour de Fontaine. I'm going to expose my ignorance here. That's all I'm exposing is just my ignorance. But. ignorance here that's all I'm exposing is just my ignorance but the fountain here oh hello little burrow here's the little donkey with the colorful cart behind him but the fountain here at Italy it's got a very powerful looking gentleman

with a spear is that King Trident he's got a trident and he's flanked by two fishes hey I'm not afraid to say I don't know and he's flanked by two fishes. Hey, I'm not afraid to say I don't know. Ah. Via Napoli in the distance.

It's been quite a while since we've been in there, but I dearly love it. The pizza window is open. you know what that means? It's busy. Sorry, little one. Very serious ambience over here. passing by Il Bel Cristallo did I say that right? I don't know alright heading out of Italy.

Past one of my favorite features in the park. Though I doubt that I'll be able to see it. Matter of fact, is it on at night? We're going to find out. I'm talking about the choo-choo train. Greetings, Epcot World Travelers. Oh, hello. At 9 p.m., Epcot invites you to join us for Epcot Forever, a spectacular celebration of everything Epcot.

World shows come alive with amazing color and life as we journey through Epcot's past and leap into its exciting future. The show can be experienced from all around the World Showcase Lagoon. Remember, tonight's performance of Epcot Forever begins at 9 o'clock this evening. You heard it folks. And to answer my question, yes, the Epcot Garden Railway is indeed running and here comes the train as we speak We're now walking alongside of it. Where are you now? Three count.

One, two. That's right Germany Germany One of our listeners And forgive me for not remembering who you are. By the way, the planters here in Germany have gorgeous burgundy flowers. That just, with the lighting and everything, it just screams fall. Or autumn, as it were. Caramel kus, to your left.

Beer Garden ahead. Do we have something here? We're surrounded by screams this evening anyway one of our listeners and forgive me for not remembering who it is um suggested that we do a deep dive into epcot pavilions and that is a fantastic idea by the way and Germany is a great target

because how can we do a deep dive without test driving a bunch of caramel treats so Pete, Josh, when we do the Germany pavilion one, it's going to involve some taste testing. Passing Amani Village Traders in the Africa section.

I legit don't know whether to call it a pavilion or not, because there's not much here, and I really wish they would do more with it. The dumplings are delicious. And it's gorgeous. Here's the India food booth. What do we have? Alcohol loosens lips, folks. That's all I'm saying. We have curry spice crispy cheese, which sounds amazing. Potato and pea samosas.

I love those. Chicken tikka masala. How can you not like it? Various drinks to be had. Let's march on. Oh, sorry. You're getting the full experience tonight, folks. I have found the one spot where people ain't. You come into the Zen Garden, you turn right,

and I happen to know from long experience there is a water feature up here, completely in the dark. And here we are. There is literally not a person in sight. We have this all to ourselves. At the very back of the Zen Garden, we are unfortunately close to the young people beating on things. Ahhh. You have this little stream in through your nose, count of three, out through your mouth.

Ahhh. And here we are. Stave Church to your left. Gods and Vikings. Kringla Bakery Ogg Cafe There's a water feature up here too Akershus To your right Norway, by the way Frozen ever after 65 minute wait. You know the routine by now. Deep breath in three seconds.

And out through the mouth. Ah. Meditating through the World Showcase Let's walk about the world Let's go inside the fjording Beautiful and expensive Norwegian things. Here's the troll. And I still don't know if he has a name.

Oh, sorry little one. It's that kind of night. Here you can get your Helly Hansen gear and your gear and nest scents. Don't breathe in too deeply here. It will choke you. But I'm a fan. The little one is not a fan I'm like should I edit that out? heck no And I'm like, should I edit that out? Heck no!

Standing lakeside between Norway and Mexico, looking across the lake towards Morocco and France, just the slightest hint of a light on the horizon and the moon is very low to the horizon. Almost looks like it's touching the swan of the Swan and Dauphin and it's a sliver. Cat's eye

moon. Slight breeze across the lake. All the lights of the pavilions are on. It's hard to beat. Let's go. Let's go to Mexico. Welcome.

Standing at the top in the entrance to the Plaza de los Amigos. Let's go right towards La Cava. I'm not drinking now, but if I were, this line is surprisingly short and man I would like to have a margarita there are two water features here in this pavilion well three if you count the ride well three if you count the ride you have this one at the center and then there's a smaller one right by La Cava where they set you to wait Fine jewelry and accessories.

La Tienda Encantada. I don't remember, but does that mean the Enchanted Store? I think so, but likely wrong. Here we have La Princesa de Cristal. The Crystal Princess? Don't really get that, but okay. I just love it in here I love the vibe I love the merch

let's see the Grand Fiesta Tour is... I have no idea how long, but it's a short line. I would love to ride it. We have more walking to do. Did you know, dear traveler, that we have an entire episode that's like an hour of the Grand Fiesta tour. Well, we do.

Crossing the bridge from Mexico over towards Port of Entry. Odyssey building to your right, all lit up. You guys hear this? This ambient track? Many years ago, 2007-ish, when I may or may not have written a piece of software to rip thousands of songs from a well-known online Disney radio station. I can neither confirm nor deny that. But I came into possession of this song, and I used to listen as I worked at my desk in West Virginia,

dreaming of perhaps one day living in Florida. True story. I listened to this and I could just see my desk and my monitor and my dreams. I don't know what this area is called. And tell me what this area is between Port of Entry and Disney Traders, the two stores. Large, open area here near the lake.

And it's one of the best viewing spots for any nighttime show. Already a bunch of people waiting. Because they're smart. to the right is wine and wedge this is a new one to me assorted artisanal cheeses borson fig and balsamic souffle oh i've seen that with fig tapenade. I love fig stuff. You know what? The line is short. I'm getting it. I'll meet you on the other side of this fig thing. My friends.

I just had an experience. It was legal and appropriate. But I'm telling you, holy sheep dip. That Borson Fig Souffle, I'm going to say it right now, that is the single best food item I've ever had at a festival here. Utterly perfect. Crispy on the outside, flaky on the inside. It has a kind of like a fig jam underneath of it.

Some sweet but yet slightly savory Borson cheese spread on top. And just take it from me. If you are here for food and wine this year, stop by the Wine and Wedge and do not miss that. I literally scraped the little plate with my fork. Monorail green going by right now. I'm a happy boy. Alright, I have to interject to say I just passed by the popcorn stand food booth on the right.

Unlike my disparaging comments about the Magic Kingdom popcorn cart, that one smelled delicious. Creation shop to your right. Alright, I'm going to be quiet. Alright, we are almost back

at Spaceship Earth. Passing the path over to the right that leads to Xandar. You know who lives there, right? Xandarians! If I don't entertain you, at least I entertain myself. What can I say?

Spaceship Earth brilliantly lit. And different images coming and going now across the face of it. Well, I hope you enjoyed this, turns out to be an entire park stroll, started down by the entrance pylon fountain thing, and walked the entire showcase together. And ending up where we started, right underneath Spaceship Earth. And that is it from me.
