Welcome back everybody to another edition of Walk About the World.
I am your host today, Neverland Local.
And I am going to be walking around one of the most famous lakes on Walt Disney World property.
That of course is Crescent Lake.
So where I am standing currently
is I'm standing out in front of Jelly Rolls
I have the Atlantic Dance Hall
to my left
and I'm looking across Crescent Lake
to the Wedding Pavilion
to beyond that Spaceship Earth
over to the left of me would be the yacht and beach club so
i'm going to walk around crescent lake and see what we can hear so
let's go I'm sorry. So currently, some wayfinding.
Currently on the right-hand side is the DVC.
They're like the open house show house at Crest O' the Wave.
And right next to that is where Big River Grill used to be,
currently sitting vacant.
Hoping for a local brewery.
We'll see. Can't have the boardwalk without some carnival games, right? So we got hoop toss.
We have lob a Lobster.
I can honestly say I've never played any of these games, but I'm very intrigued every time I pass them.
On the right-hand side is the Screen Door General Store,
probably one of the best resort gift shops on all of property. Thank you. We're coming up on the Promenade Pier.
This is the boat dock where you can take a boat from here
across Crescent Lake to the Yacht and Beach Club.
You could take it to the Swan and Dolphin, Hollywood Studios, and also Epcot. Thank you. Up here on the boardwalk you'll see Flying Fish,
Abracadabra, Trattoria Al Forno,
all delicious restaurants. No, you're fine.
Boardwalk Deli.
Huge croissant as the proprietor
oh disney and we also have the boardwalk ice cream shop
coming up here on our right hand side is the Cake Bake Shop that was supposed to open in 2023, then 2024, and now it's just coming soon.
So I imagine when it does open, it will be a big hit here on the boardwalk is a very unique place.
It's kind of like a melting pot of people.
You have people sitting and looking across the lagoon.
You have people eating at all the restaurants.
You have people just enjoying a leisurely walk like we are.
There's a lot happening here.
And I don't think you can hear it, but I can hear the Epcot, the Garden Rock stage.
Not sure who's playing today, but you can hear them.
It's kind of like, it's really weird.
You can hear them like they're really close. Currently walking right behind the wedding pavilion that overlooks Crescent Lake.
Very popular spot, especially in the spring and fall for weddings and receptions and things like that.
A lot of photo ops. As we make our way up and over this bridge to the beach club,
one of the many things that people like to do on the boardwalk is ride these surrey bikes.
Usually two, three, four, five people on the suri bike.
And from personal experience,
this is one of the most difficult parts of the bike ride,
is going up this long, steep-graded hill.
But I will say, once you get to the top,
it's a nice smooth sail down the other
side. People are rather helpful here on the boardwalk, pushing you up this hill, because
I feel like they know what it's like. They've been there. I myself have been there. Not the easiest climb.
You can also hear the band playing in the back of the UK.
You can hear them in the distance.
We have a pontoon boat going under the bridge here. Skyliners to my right. We are hanging a left
to the beach club.
And for those who can or can't hear that,
that's Smoke on the Water by Deep Purple
playing in the background.
Most likely from the UK Pavilion. All right, so we're on the path now heading towards Beach Club, Yacht Club.
That way we got the Beach Club in blue on the right-hand side.
And the other side of Crescent Lake on our left.
Got a couple boats coming and going.
And let's just take it all in. I want to do that. Bye.
Bye.
So currently
we have the entrance
to the beach club to the right.
We have the beach to our left.
And right by the fire pit here is where they show the nightly movie on the beach.
Free to anyone. Anyone can watch the movie.
Anyone can participate in the s'mores roasting, marshmallow roasting. Just about to go underneath the pirate ship
waterslide. Seems like a very popular thing. One of
guests' favorite watering holes
at the beach club,
Hurricane Hannahes. Where are you guys visiting from? Oh, Boracay.
I'm getting lots of energy in my legs.
Yeah, it's pretty high.
That's going to take a long time.
Alright, we are continuing on our walk about Crescent Lake.
We have the Yacht Club to our right and the lighthouse on the bridge to our left.
Perfect photo op.
Especially at sunset. Off to our right here is another gazebo,
a wedding pavilion gazebo here at the Yacht Club.
Such a relaxing resort.
Trying not to ruin it with my talking.
But it is a wonderful, wonderfully relaxing walk.
Boardwalk.
Yacht and beach.
The whole area. We do! All right, as we head west at this point,
with the Dolphin Resort straight ahead from us. We're on the last little
bit of the boardwalk before we take the ramp up and over the waterway and end up back near where
we started. Atlantic Dance Hall, Jelly Rolls, all of that. So, here we go.
We're in the homestretch. The This is the other big bridge when you are riding a surrey bike.
This one, you don't really get a whole lot of lead time to get momentum to come up here. We usually end up jumping out and pushing our surrey bike up this hill
because there's no other way to do it. Thank you. All right, we've made it back to close to where we started, like I'd mentioned before.
Jelly Rolls is on our right-hand side.
Atlantic Dance Hall is on our left.
And there is currently a food truck exiting the boardwalk. Thank you. Well, I want to thank you for joining me on this walkabout around Crescent Lake.
Somewhat active boardwalk today.
But I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.
As always, we want to give a shout out to the patrons
who support us at the Beautiful Tomorrow level.
That's Beck Castle, Bill and Aaron Zeese,
Byron E. Grant, Debbie Gambala,
Derek at Satisfactual Sign Company,
Eric Steinhauer, John Hamilton,

and we look forward
