Starting point is 00:00:06 Hello, travelers. Welcome back to Walk About the World for our weekly in-park family reunion and welcome back to Epcot. Heather is here. Hi, Heather. Hi, guys. We have just entered the park. We are near the base of spaceship Earth. It is evening, which is unusual for us, but it is near sunset, not quite, but cool and nice and breezy. the palms beneath the spaceship Earth building are waving in a way that just makes you want to
Starting point is 00:00:48 be in Florida. We're going to take a stroll, see what we can see with their ears, listen and look and walk and talk. So let's do it. Well, that was cool. We are over in World Celebration Gardens now right next to Connections Cafe.
Starting point is 00:02:13 And this place has really grown into its own. Currently, chilling on a pack. beneath these trees that are way larger than they were when we first came here, have blue accent lights up into the leaves. It's gorgeous. Loads of seating over here, and it is, in the evening, it is nice and tranquil and empty. I feel like you're setting in, like, little patches of woods, and I'm looking far down the way over towards...
Starting point is 00:03:19 Now my brain just died on me. You guys are going to have to help me. Down past the wallet statue. Communicor. Come on, Jeremy. I know, you guys are yelling at me. When I look to my right, Spaceship Earth is in blues and purples.
Starting point is 00:03:42 There's just a little bit of sun left in the sky. Paths to my right and left. But right now I'm in a little shady, secluded area under a tree. and even though I know World Showcase is jamming, this area is Tranquility, man. You can hear the drums of the Communicor stage in the far distance. We'll work our way down there.
Starting point is 00:04:53 I just kind of like this. Down in front of us, surrounding the flower bed are the... I don't even know what to call them. Like, pylons? But they're stone and also made of glass, and they have...
Starting point is 00:05:17 blue and pink light and over towards the right of them where you often see the gymnasts it has what looks like the base of trees in rusty metal with orange accent lighting shining up on them right now
Starting point is 00:05:34 makes just a great sight some of the trees here are actually losing their leaves which gives us a little bit of floor to fall in an area where you normally don't have one I think that's kind of great we are right at dusk now Horizon is pink and orange, just the slightest blue above. Let's work our way over to Communicor.
Starting point is 00:07:47 Looking back towards Spaceship Earth now, you have a fantastic view of the new bar that used to be in one of the spaces for corporate sponsors. You guys are going to yell at me again. What's the name of it? Something 82. Getting closer to Communicor. Here you go. Your dinner to me.
Starting point is 00:08:32 And now we invite you to relax and us put up a chair at the dining room. Your dinner. The mix of sounds is getting to me. Okay, right now we are under the rusty metal tree stump, not stump. The tree-like structures over here. I absolutely love how this area has grown. It's called the World's. Celebration Gardens and it's really grown into like something you would see at Animal Kingdom.
Starting point is 00:09:36 There's a very botanical garden look to it. It's really lush now and I love it. Communicor Hall to the left. Lid up at night beautifully. Somebody said it's not a race. I mean, I think there is a race this weekend, but it's not now. I love the exterior of communicer hall. It has the same geometric patterns as the outside of Spaceship Earth and they are all lit up teals and pinks and blues and oranges it looks amazing out here and it just keeps getting cooler and for a Florida boy
Starting point is 00:11:08 that's a good thing Lumiere is still singing his ass off can I say that does it make us explicit now so many of these new areas over here I haven't been to Epcot in a while so full disclosure that so many of these new areas over here
Starting point is 00:11:53 that they have built as part of the renovation have just filled out plants overflowing. Currently, I'm in an area right at the end, almost past Communicor Hall, and it's just filled with tall red plants
Starting point is 00:12:11 and low blue, and it just gorgeous palm trees. Disney does it right. To chill here for a minute. Why not? Nobody can tell us what to do. Breathe in. Breathe out.
Starting point is 00:13:57 Now, we could be in showcase, but I'm going for Zen this evening. going for full full immersion of relaxation and I'm in between Communicor Hall and the land and there's no one I mean a few people dotted here or there
Starting point is 00:14:18 but we're on our own. It's kind of dark. All the trees have accent lights. You can just kind of get lost over here. I love it. Slowly circling back around towards our right headed over to the seas area just because I can. And further around the corner, directly around the corner in a loop to our right,
Starting point is 00:15:12 is the journey of Moana and water and whatever that's called. The fantastical ocean journey of the water of the world of Moana, I think is the official name. Let's go visit the entrance to the seas. Montereil passing behind us in view of spaceship earth and the sign that says the seas with Nemo and friends directly in front of you. Love this thing. Planter bed full of sea grape.
Starting point is 00:16:34 Yes, it's a real thing. Sea grape plants. You can find them by the sea when we lived by the beach. There were tons of them there. And then an awesome water feature. Haven't heard the birds yet. Everybody is doing the bird noises, but the birds aren't making noise. Are the birds broken?
Starting point is 00:17:27 Okay, come on. Be right with you here in a minute. All right, we've wandered out to World Showcase. We're in the Japan Pavilion now, and it is completely dark. We're right by the Coy Pond. Hopefully you can hear the water feature over the concert that's going on at the American Gardens Theater right down the way. Let's make our way up through this path here.
Starting point is 00:18:44 The accent lights on the pagoda to the left are beautiful. illuminating all the warm woods. And this area has long been a garden. Botanical Garden area back here. Surrounded by bamboo, very carefully trimmed trees. Now you can hear the concert. It's the thing about World Showcase.
Starting point is 00:19:30 You're never in one place. We're almost to the top up here. And to wait for our fellow travelers to pass because we're polite. And now we're... passing over a wooden bridge painted red stream coming down from the mountains glowing lanterns lanterns overhead amongst the trees up here is where you will find the noodle shop i believe hear the sound of the little noisemakers now we are all the way at the top and it is just us
Starting point is 00:21:23 Travelers, we are, we have the entire seating area to ourselves. What an incredible spot. You can see the waterfall coming down from the hills here into tranquil little pool surrounded by plants. Trees overhead with the lanterns I mentioned. I think it's time for another, I think it's time for another breathe in and out. Disney Meditation. here on Walkabout the World. All right, let's go down.
Starting point is 00:22:24 We're going to pop into Mitsukoshi because one does not simply go to World Showcase without going to Mitsukoshi. And then I think we're probably going to wrap up, but let's go. Work our way back down. What an incredible place. Even if you're not eating up here,
Starting point is 00:22:56 like you could bring a drink, a snack up here and just spend about the best 30 minutes your life. It is so nice up here. Okay, here we go. Back across the bridge. Heather's meeting me down here. We're going to do Mitsukoshi together. And here's Heather. Hi, Heather. Hello. We had Yorkshire County fish shop a little while ago. Now we're going to do Mitsikoshi. Are we looking for anything or just because we have to do Mitsukoshi because we have to? We just have to just to see if there's anything new. Just love looking at all the stuff to Miyazaki stuff.
Starting point is 00:24:12 All kinds of goodies in there. There's an egg with a butt. My daughter knows the name of it. Some of you are laughing at me right now, I know. However, I think we're going to wrap up here in view of the Japan Pavilion and with the concert blasting behind us.
Starting point is 00:24:31 Thanks for traveling along with us today. For a lovely evening in Epcot. It's been a minute. I needed it. Man, the breeze is still blowing. It's cool outside. It is the time of year and time of day, in my opinion, to be at Epcot. Have you had a good time? Yes, I tell you have.
Starting point is 00:24:52 It's so pretty being here at night with everything lit up. It's been a while since we've been here in the evening. Nice to not be drenched in sweat for once. Yep. Sorry, I'm distracted. But we made an announcement this week on Instagram and in our... Patreon account, but I'll share it here too. We have decided, as a crew, to sunset our Patreon account.
Starting point is 00:25:23 There's no problems. Well, other than us. We're the problem. It is us. The fact is that every one of the hosts is incredibly busy, full-time plus people, and we feel that we're not giving the value that we want. want to give to people who are taking their hard-earned money and sending a little of it our way. We're deeply grateful for all of you patrons, for all this time you supported us. But we've decided to just go back to what we do best.
Starting point is 00:25:59 And that's walking about the world and being podcasters and having fun and taking you along the way. And that's what we're going to do. So just want to make that announcement. If you happen to see it, I didn't want you to freak out. We're not going anywhere. As a matter of fact, we've had a huge crew discussion this past few days about how excited we are and rejuvenated we are and we all want to record and we're just busy and we just can't wait to get out here and get in the parks. But I'm going to shut up.
Starting point is 00:26:26 Thank you for joining us. Thanks for listening every week. Thanks for leaving us messages. You can do so on Instagram at Walkabout WDW or you can send us an email at contact at walkabouttheworld.com. We always read them. We share them of each of the hosts, and getting to know you guys is the best part of doing this. So hit us up, let us know how you found us, where you listen. If some noise I made and annoyed you today while I was walking around.
Starting point is 00:26:57 But we're going to leave you with that, and even here from Epcot, there is a great big, beautiful tomorrow. We'll see you in one of those tomorrows on a future episode of Walk About the World. Bye, everybody. See you, everybody. I just shoved the microphone over there. She had no idea what to do. That's my fault. But anyway, have a great one, guys.
Starting point is 00:27:17 Be well.
