Starting point is 00:00:00 Hello travelers and welcome back to Walk About The World. I'm your host Michelle and today we're kind of just hanging out in the lobby of the Grand Californian Hotel here at the Disneyland Resort. It is all decked out for the holidays. It's a giant Christmas tree in the middle of the lobby with garland and wreaths surrounding the room. And of course you can't forget about the giant gingerbread house. It's one of my favorite things to visit. It's different every year, and just watching
Starting point is 00:00:49 it go up is pretty neat. So the gingerbread house here is made with actual gingerbread. There's even a sign that gives you kind of the breakdown of the whole structure of it. Let's see here. Structure measures 7 feet tall and 12 feet wide. Wooden infrastructure weighs 700 pounds. There are 25 hidden Mickeys. It even gives you an ingredient breakdown.
Starting point is 00:01:30 600 pounds of gingerbread. 600 pounds of powdered sugar. 250 pounds of fondant. 1,152 eggs. And a pound of glitter. That's a lot of glitter. That's a lot of glitter. And then conveniently next to the gingerbread house, they have a little stand where you can buy gingerbread. And I don't know what it is about the gingerbread here at the Disneyland Resort, but it's gotta be some of the best gingerbread I've ever
Starting point is 00:02:23 had. I don't know what they do. Maybe it's because it's shaped like Mickey. I don't know. Things that are shaped like Mickey tend to taste better. They also have your coffee, hot chocolate, warm mixed drinks. That sounds nice. My favorite part of the lobby here at the Grand Californian is the fireplace. They have a bunch of comfy rocking chairs and you kind of forget you're even at like a theme park or you know at Disney property. It just kind of feels like you're sitting in the mountains just hanging out. And it does say there's going to be some live entertainment, so I'm going to hang out and see what that's about, and then catch up with you later.
Starting point is 00:04:16 Thank you for watching. Hello! We are the Good Time Carolers. We're so happy to join you this evening at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel and Spa. We're going to sing some of our favorite Christmas carols and then towards the end we'll take some requests to take us on a walk.
Starting point is 00:04:35 We're going to start with one of my favorite carols. It's called Still, Still, Still. Thank you. Thank you. One can hear the falling snow O'er the land of the free The world is sleeping Holy star It's vigil keeping Still, still, still
Starting point is 00:05:24 One can hear the falling snow. Ooh, sleep, sleep Tis the eve of our Savior's birth Love thy angels without number Watch your eyes and sleep around you sleep sleep

Starting point is 00:06:52 you sweetly slumber dream dream of the joyous day to come. Amen. To save a soul from Satan's power when we were gone astray. Oh, tidings of comfort and joy, comfort and joy.
Starting point is 00:07:52 Oh, tidings of comfort and joy. From God our heavenly Father, the sin angel came, and unto certain shepherds brought tidings of the same. How that in Bethlehem was born the Son of God by name, O tidings of comfort and joy, comfort and joy, for the tidings of comfort and joy. Let's go on the ride, because there's a big, big man coming into town With treats just for you You're already here Oh my gosh, yeah I didn't know you celebrated Christmas

Thank you. And our chicks are nice and frowning and comfy Close the army First I'll go up to the other side Two birds of a feather would be
Starting point is 00:09:48 Let's take a crowd before I start singing a chorus or two Come on, it's the play where the chorus plays Together with you There's a Christmas party in the home of Florida Gray It'll be the perfect ending of a perfect day. We'll be singing the songs we love to sing without a single sound. At the fireplace where we want to just have fun. It's a happy feeling, nothing in the world can lie.
Starting point is 00:10:22 When we pass around the coffee and the pumpkin pie. Thank you. Oh, sorry. This one is the Christmas spirit that gets requested every sense of it. I love the Veronica Peskin. Take us to the whole thing. Oh, holy night. The stars are brightly shining It is the night Of our dear Savior's birth Long live the world
Starting point is 00:11:43 In sin and error pining, Till ye are healed, and the soul of God is found. A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices, for yonder breaks a new glorious morn. O hear the angel voices, O night divine, O night when Christ was born, O night divine. We've got a beautiful tree in front of us, don't we? Oh, Christmas tree. Look at you. Oh, Christmas tree.
Starting point is 00:13:31 It reminds me of a song. It's what we call the segway in the business tree. I'll be doing my part. Oh, you're singing in German. Okay. It's fancy. © BF-WATCH TV 2021 Oh, Tanaka, oh, Tanaka, with what delight I see you. When winter days are dark and drear, you bring us hope for all the years Oh, Tadepa, oh, Tadepa
Starting point is 00:14:49 We want to see you Oh, Tadepa, oh, Tadepa You bear a joyful message That faith and hope shall ever move To bring us by in winter's blue Oh, Johnny Bob, oh, Johnny Bob You bear a joyful message A joyful Christmas Now I know we are in Southern California, but a boy can dream for some snow, you know? That'll drive to the mountains.
Starting point is 00:15:48 Let's hope for snow and anaheim this year, yeah? Let's just let it snow. Let's let it snow. Let it snow. Ooh, the weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful. Bye. Let it snow, let it snow When we finally kiss goodnight Now I ain't going out in the storm But if you really hold me tight
Starting point is 00:16:37 All the way home, I'll be warm The fire is slowly dying And my dear, we're still defying. But as long as you love me so, let us know. Let us know. Let us know. Let us know. Let us know.

We're going to do it with a little bit of noise. But this is silent. Silent night. Silent night, holy night. Holy night All is calm All is bright
Starting point is 00:18:17 Round yon virgin Mother and Child, Holy infant so tender and mild, Sleep in heavenly peace. Sleep in heavenly peace. Silent night That's a big ask. I see you, Scarlett. All right. This is our lovely tenor. It's a big tenor number. I'll do my best just for you, darling, okay?
Starting point is 00:19:31 I know how you hate me. You know I hate a solo. Mary, did you know? Did you know? Mary, did you know? Did you know? Mary, did you know? Did you know? Mary, did you know? Did you know?
Starting point is 00:19:53 Mary, did you know? Mary, did you know? That your baby boy would one day walk on water Mary did you know your baby boy would save our sons and daughters did you know
Starting point is 00:20:16 that your baby boy has come to make you new for this child of you Who delivered And soon will never give you Mary, did you know
Starting point is 00:20:36 That your baby boy Gives sight to a blind man Mary, did you know that your baby boy would come a storm with his hand? Did you know that your baby boy could start an angel's cry? And when you kiss your baby boy, you kiss the face of God. Mary, did you know? Mary, did you know? The plan was seen, the death was here, the death will live again. the dead will live again.
Starting point is 00:21:27 The land will leave, the dead will see, the rises of the land. Mary, did you know that your baby boy is Lord of all creation? Mary, did you know that your baby boy will make all the nations? Did you know that your baby boy is coming to heaven? And his child you will take is the great I Am. Mary, did you know? Oh, Mary, did you know? Did you know? Mary, did you know? Mary, did you know?
Starting point is 00:22:41 Mary, did you know? Oh, Mary Did you know Oh, Mary Thank you. Thank you for all you're singing along. Do you sing that song? Is that a song that you sing because you knew it? Do you know that? I know all the words.
Starting point is 00:22:59 Yeah, good for you. You know better than I did. I'm just wooing and awing. Good for you. If anyone else has holiday favorite you'd like to hear for you showing up, I'm going to make sure to show it. I'm just wooing it on. Good for you. If anybody else has holiday favorite you'd like to hear, please go on up. I'm going to make sure. Of Deck the Halls. Alright, but if you call Deck the Halls, we do a rule. You have to sing it.
Starting point is 00:23:13 With us. By yourself. By yourself. So, Vicki, come on up. Ten or so. Alright. If you have another one, I'm sorry, there's another name. Hi, what's your name? What would you like? It's beginning to look a lot I do have another one. I'm sorry, there was another man behind me. Hi, what's your name? My name's Michael. It's beginning to look a lot...
Starting point is 00:23:29 So let's do it's beginning, because it's a few of them. So we're going to do it's beginning, and then we'll do that to all. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas Everywhere you go Take a look at the fire and tell it's listening once again We can be kings and serve our names of love It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas Toys and every sort.
Starting point is 00:24:07 But the prettiest thing to see is the holiday that will be on your own front door. A pair of humble boots and a pistol that shoots as the bishop on the event. Don't double talk it, we'll go for a walk. It's the home of Janice and Jen. And mom and dad can hardly wait for school to start again It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas Soon the bells will start And the thing that will make them ring
Starting point is 00:24:36 Is the carol that they sing Right within your heart All right, so we have to get that done But we're going to do it In your heart. All right, so we'll do Dech the Halls, but we're going to do it, so we're going to have this side of the room versus this side of the room. And we know the words are ba-ha, so there's no excuses, no spreck of people, nature, anything like that. So this is Dech the Halls, and we're going to start with this side of the room. Here we go. Deck the halls, big house of Bully. Well, thank you, sir.
Starting point is 00:25:13 Not the strongest entry. Now try this side. Open that to your ear. Choose the season to be jolly. They said microphone dropped. We got this. Here we go. Come on, too. They said, microphone dropped. We got this. Here we go. Come on, guys. I believe you. Don, we are gay and narrow. Thank you. Lovely.
Starting point is 00:25:33 We'll start building a dress. Strutting a huge high carol. That was almost too good. Competitive, honestly. Christmas brings that out in all forms, right? I do. See the blazing new before us. La, la, la, la, la, la, la.
Starting point is 00:25:52 Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. Woo. Strike the harp and join the chorus. La, la, la, la, la, la, la. Guys, come on. You can do better than that. Come on. I believe in you.
Starting point is 00:26:05 Follow me in merry magic. La, la, la, la, can do better than that. Come on, I believe in you. Follow me in merry magic. There we go. Now we're going to see how I don't care about you. You shouldn't either. What a talent yields I treasure. Yes, you can owe me a new pair of glasses. All right, so they won the volume contest, but let's see if we can win the speed round, okay?
Starting point is 00:26:28 Lightning round, here we go. That's the way the odier passes. Here are the new yeats, lads, and lasses. We'll enjoy us all together. Heed us of the wind and weather. It's a big finish. Big family. La la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la You did very well.
