Starting point is 00:00:00 It's time to make the music. It's time to paint the paints. No, that well. It's time to get things started is what we're trying to say. I'm ad-libbing. I'm not very good at it. Yeah, well, we probably wouldn't have been good singing anyway. Hello.
Starting point is 00:00:19 Sorry, I was just checking. Checking the levels. I messed with the levels earlier. He's doing a producer thing. Hello Travelers, take two. Welcome back to Walk About the World here from Disney's Hollywood Studios and Muppet Courtyard until June the 7th in which... Well, I'll be here all day.
Starting point is 00:00:37 I'm not even going to mention what's happening, but I'll be here all day. Yes, bad things. Well, okay. It'll be a good day on June 7th. June 8th might be a little worse. June 7th is a celebration. June 8th is a morning. Yes. Yes, that's when the morning period begins.
Starting point is 00:00:58 But for now, Muppet Courtyard it is. And I'm here with producer Josh obviously we're in view of the piggy fountain which is going to feature front and center well maybe not in the recording we'll do some of the piggy fountain recording too but Josh is doing a project or a series maybe what is that sir? I just started to decide I was gonna break in my my sketch wallet earlier this week. And what is that exactly? We're not sponsored so I probably can't talk about it.
Starting point is 00:01:35 I got a new sketch wallet and I've been doing some plein air painting in the parks because it's been gorgeous out. Plein air painting. It's fancy, it means you're painting outdoors. That's all gorgeous out. Plain air. Plain air. Painting. It's fancy. It's fancy. It means you're painting outdoors. That's all it is. And he did one of Gertie recently, yes?
Starting point is 00:01:50 Uh huh. Uh huh. Yup. And you know, I asked people what they wanted to see next, but everybody knew what it was going to be anyway. What, Piggy Fountain? It's Piggy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:00 It's Piggy. The answer is always Piggy. But that's my plan. So here's what I think. I think, you know, assuming that it turns out pretty decent. Would you? Well, we'll see. I think I will perhaps make a little printy print and offer it up to a lucky listener
Starting point is 00:02:19 at some point. A singular lucky listener? Should we do a drawing? We should. I think we should have them send an email to contact at Walk About the World with the subject of Piggy Fountain. And if you do so, you will be given a number, we will do a randomizer, we won't pick it, we'll let the AI machines do that for us.
Starting point is 00:02:45 And if you win, we'll reach out to you and you will get a print of Josh's plane air painting. Suddenly we're in a giant freaking crowd. What are these people coming from again? What is this? The theater just exploded. The Muppets just disgorged its crowd. The theater just crowd. There was a double Sweetums and now everybody's here. And wondering what the heck we were doing in the middle of the road. So I am going to take off and walk about. Josh is gonna paint. I'm gonna come with you. Just drop me off at the piggy bank. Come on, let's go to the piggy bank. Follow the crowd. Oh, sorry.
Starting point is 00:03:28 Sorry little person. That's not a mask. Sorry lady. And will we do a bit of Muppets today in this episode? Darn right we will. Can you hear the piggy water? Oh, I might add. Waka Waka.
Starting point is 00:03:59 Thank you very much. Waka Waka and walk about. That was a random guest interaction. Thank you very much. Walk a walk and walk about. That was a random guest interaction. I not prescripted. First time. See a microphone say something. She's doesn't know anything about our podcast at all, but just decided to participate.
Starting point is 00:04:18 Thank you random travel. Anyway, as you were, John. Yeah, so something special about this painting is that I am using water from the piggy fountain for the cocktail. So, you know, hopefully that will help with some magic there. Let's see. Illegally procured piggy fountain water. Yeah, maybe I'll just bring a whole bunch of bottles with me next time too.
Starting point is 00:04:40 We can ship you a bottle of piggy fountain water. Yeah, let's do it. We're actually not going to do that. I'm gonna go find a place to sit. You can do a little walk about and come back and see me later. Alright, catch you in a bit. See ya. Let's take a little tour of the Muppets area while we're over here, shall we?
Starting point is 00:05:02 Then we'll venture on. You know what I love to see is that there is a huge line of people going into Muppet Vision 3D. That makes me happy. Here's a bit of trivia for you in the lightning lane sign out in front of Muppet Vision. The clock there, what brand of watch or clock is it? Answer is Citizen by the way. with his Muppet Vision ball and paddle. Love it over here. Now behind us I'm going to turn so now it's not behind us, it's in front of us, is the city's top rated pizza,
Starting point is 00:06:01 Pizzeria, it's rat pizza by the way. is the city's top rated pizza. Pizza Rizzo. It's rat pizza, by the way. Let's head over by Gonzo's Royal Flush. So if you are in need of a used toilet, you can find them here. The large clock tower here making up the right side of Muppet Vision 3D building. You can see Gonzo hanging from the minute hand. Heading out to Grand Avenue now. Donald and Daisy doing some greeting and meeting out here. That's cool.
Starting point is 00:07:34 And across the way towards the entrance to Galaxy's Edge, Goofy is out meeting and greeting. The Goof! meeting and greeting. The goof! Currently at 728 Grand Avenue which is the Grand Lofts. One and two bedroom luxury units now available. I would love to have one of these. To our right is the Spring Flower Market at 726 Grand Avenue. I'm gonna pause here and do a little reminiscing because I was thinking of some of this this morning on my way over. If you are a recent theme park traveler to Disney's Hollywood Studios, this is going to be news to you, I guess, but for the old school folks, the OG folks, here comes a cart by the way.
Starting point is 00:08:29 This used to be the entrance to the streets of America. As we turn around the corner from SyFy, that used to be the writer stop. It's now the baseline tap house and you can find the old writer stop letters inside. But that used to be the writer stop you would turn the corner with the with the writer stop directly on your right and you would be entering the the very end of the streets of America and then across the way you would have an entrance to the Muppet Courtyard and as you as you stepped into the entrance of Muppet Courtyard and looked around you would you would see that what you thought was part of the
Starting point is 00:09:09 apartments and buildings of Streets of America was indeed just a construction front just like a set that that they would build in Hollywood, that there's no depth to it. And you could see behind the set there, it's just two by fours and wires and tools around. And it was just really cool. It just kind of gave you a picture of what a backlot set would be. And then as you come out of Muppet Courtyard and look back down, I'm
Starting point is 00:09:46 pointing like you can see what I'm doing, I'm pointing down towards Galaxy's Edge right now, the entrance, that led you down the streets of America all the way towards, if you get to the end, you would have the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground and an eatery to your right, and if you kept going you would have the lights, motor, action, stunt show that used to be down there. All of that is Galaxy's Edge now. The reason I'm reminiscing is that we are soon to lose Muppet Courtyard and I am bummed about it. Not always the guy who's bummed about Disney park changes because these parks change they're ever evolving but losing Muppet Courtyard is... that's a blow for me
Starting point is 00:10:30 I just think it's a piece of park history that everyone still loves I don't know anybody that doesn't love Muppet Vision 3D and anyway June 7th the last day so if you plan on coming soon make sure you you come over here to DHS and soak up some Muppets like we're gonna do today. However for now let's take us a walk. I'm doing an internal poll in my head whether I go left, whether I go right to galaxy's edge. I think I'm gonna go off-world today. Let's go see some space stuff. Come on.. Welcome to Galaxy's Edge, my friends. We are now off world.
Starting point is 00:12:12 The entrance to rise of the resistance is on our left and it is no longer virtual queue and the line is packed. The large black spires in the distance we can see already. And to our right is the droid coke cart. The R4 unit. Red silver cart. And thank you so much. Wait time 95 minutes for the old rise of the resistance. Large defense turret forming the entrance of the ride. Ride Q. Straight ahead of us here we have a very old and weathered A-Wing fighter. your officer for reassignment. In the distance you can hear the calls of the animal that Obi-Wan rode on the back of when he was hunting General Grievous.
Starting point is 00:14:32 I know, Minerd. Come on. Everything about Star Wars and- Wait. Everything about Star Wars and Galaxy's Edge is used universe. So everything is weathered and dusty and rusty and just love the place making here. Across the way is an X-Wing is also a photo spot. We have to make sure not to photobomb. Going to head around the corner to our left to the marketplace. Just got a live update from Producer Josh, says that he has sketched out his composition, then he took shelter at the Pizzeria Rizzo patio to paint because it is going to be 85 today and it is quite, it is quite sunny. Not a cloud in
Starting point is 00:16:47 the sky here in the city beautiful, but well, back there where Josh is in Orlando. We're off world. If you listen, you can hear some. Batu wildlife. I have a little one that's got a little one. Yeah. That's water. Alright, the marketplace is straight ahead. The entire building in faded burnt orange and like a dark weathered green. You can sense the the history of it. I don't know if you just caught it but you can occasionally hear a wookie call from the apartments above. That would be the galactic toilet outflow at the entrance of the market. Come stalls, vendors peddling their wares, Finned off some of the sunlight. You can occasionally all oh did you hear him? That's a quackin' monkey lizard. He roams around, they have to try to stop him from chewing on the electrical wires. Ronto Roasters
Starting point is 00:20:59 as he roasts his Ronto for your enjoyment. Now out the other side of Ronto's looking down you have the Droid Depot, an entrance to the area where you can build your own lightsaber. We're going to go around the corner towards Docking Bay 7 and Dock Ondars. Den of antiquities. See, I can say it right when I want to. Entrance to Dock Ondars here with large parts of the black spire framing the entrance to this domed building.
Starting point is 00:21:50 Entrance is an archway. Let's pop into Dachandars real quick. It's been a while.. And here's where you can see and hold and even purchase a lightsaber. You're now directly in the center of Doc Andar's store. Treasures all around you and up above you. It's fun to come in here and snap some pictures and just see some of the unique things that you can find floating around. One of the things I just noticed is a golden Jar Jar Binks head sitting on the shelf.
Starting point is 00:23:13 Collection of Rebel and Stormtrooper helmets up on the wall. Large collection of blasters on the wall directly behind Doc Ondar himself. You can buy a replica of Vader bust that looks like it's carved out of black stone. It's step out. As we step back out, we have the outdoor dining area for Docking Bay 7. Docking Bay 7 itself directly to the right. As you turn the corner, the most beautiful hunk of junk in the galaxy, the aluminum Falcon. Don't correct me, it's a joke. The stonework here on all these buildings is just perfection. The outside of the circular domed building that forms Dock Ondar's is in a white stone that's weathered and washed, while other stone across the way is brown and like I said, burnt
Starting point is 00:25:19 orange, also weathered. You can see it's been here for a very long time and the Millennium Falcon setting to the left covered in grit and grime of a thousand journeys. You really do feel like you're in a different place when you're here. I just love it. Let's head our way around the corner past the entrance to Docking Bay 7 and go down to where you can see the Falcon. Come on. th th I'm gonna step out of my in-universe persona for a minute and just say as a theme park guest I used to really really love Dockin Bay 7.
Starting point is 00:27:05 Heather and I would actually come over here after work some evenings for like a date night, go to Dockin Bay 7, snag some food, go out and sit down here near the Falcon, which is still very enjoyable. But the food quality, in my humble opinion, has drastically decreased at docking bay 7 the prices are still high but the food is just not good some of the same entrees that we even used to get are just lackluster and dry and I hope they improve it because we used to really love it. Okay, here we are. Down right in view of the cockpit of the Falcon.
Starting point is 00:27:49 A bunch of our fellow travelers gawking just like we are. Am I going to take some pictures? Yes. Yes, I am. The huge building that makes up the ride here to the left has a huge cylindrical tower with a domed structure at the top and if you stand just right and get the afternoon sun behind get some shade, great photos as well. Startup attempt here by the Millennium Falcon unsuccessful. Wow. Here we are at the entrance to Ogas Cantina. Haven't been in a while, I need to. Buildings around here all weathered and beaten and bruised. You can see some blaster marks on the sides of some of them. Barrels of different sorts lying around.
Starting point is 00:30:34 Rusted, beaten and dusty. Around the corner from Ogas you have a set of curving stairs that go up to an apartment. That is Ogas apartment. It's the boss. All right. We're passing the milk stand and I'm going to catch up with you as we head out of Batu and head back towards a producer judge. See you in a second. All right. Alright, you and I have taken shelter here under the awesome ceiling fans of the Pizzerizzo patio.
Starting point is 00:31:57 It's in the shade. Producer Josh is out getting some detailed photos of the lovely piggy fountain so he can do some finishing touches later. I saw what he did and it already looks great. But the very next thing we're going to do is we're going to go take in a performance of Muppet Vision 3D. You knew we would. So come join us. I'm gonna go. Hi-ho, Firmity Frog here and welcome to Muppet Vision 3D. Now let me show you around our research center. See here in this modern high tech facility, we have perfected Muppet Vision 3D, a new film process which we are about to demonstrate. Now, we need to project our own parts. Shut up! Everything okay?
Starting point is 00:33:42 They're huppin', huppin', their machinin' is goin', they're floo-bee floo-bee-lin'. Exactly. And our demonstration includes a little song from Miss Mickey. Little? Did I say little? I meant to say it's a huge, show-stopping, major song from Miss Mickey. That's so lucky. Good. And we've also got a big musical for that, which is called Sam Eagle. Sam, what's it about? It's called a salute to all nations, but mostly our maritime. Great. So it's going to be a swell demonstration, and at no time will we be stooping to any cheap 3D tricks. Can you say cheap 3D tricks? Um...
Starting point is 00:34:17 PFFFFF! PFFFFF! Ah! Oh, and you're so big I don't want to miss spring on you! Ah! Ah! Oh, and you still think I'm one of the spring, aren't you? Ah! Ah! Um... Oliver, is that dumb bear again? Hey bear, you're not even funny and green either! Oh, not you guys.
Starting point is 00:34:37 How did you get here? We entered a contest. Yeah, we lost! Oh yeah? Well, my new 3TX is gonna shower it all with you! Waka waka! This is like the Drowners! What kind of act is that? Like Munchies!
Starting point is 00:34:58 Well it's pretty better off next time, Bossy. Okay, and now if you come this way, I can show you our secret laboratory. You see, we invited distinguished scientists from all over the world to come and work here. Unfortunately, none of them showed up. So instead, I'd like to introduce you to the guys who invented rocket vision, and I system, beaker. Well, thank you Mr. Pemmick. Today, let's look at the adventure. Three hours and a half. You got a minute to hell! Okay everybody, get ready.
Starting point is 00:35:35 Ready! Ladies and gentlemen, the Muppets proudly present the final demonstration of Muppet Vision 3D! Breathe in! What are you doing? Get back into the place! On me! Inception! Out! Point! Wow! It's over yet? We go again? It's a planet!
Starting point is 00:36:39 Rocket Sledge! Oh, you tried to harm us? What's this? What's this? Stop the movie! Stop the movie, chef! Hey, chef! Can't you hear me? Stop the projector! Stop the projector! Stop the projector! Stop the projector! Stop the projector! Stop the projector!
Starting point is 00:37:12 Stop the projector! Stop the projector! Stop the projector! Stop the projector! Stop the projector! Stop the projector! Stop the projector! Stop the projector!
Starting point is 00:37:20 Stop the projector! Stop the projector! Stop the projector! Stop the projector! Stop the projector! Stop the projector! Stop the projector! Stop the projector! Stop the movie! Stop the movie, chef! Hey chef! Can't you hear me? Stop the projector! You scared my lawyer! I'll take the quick lawyer!
Starting point is 00:37:38 Hey, good evening! I'm sorry! Oh, wait! Don't shoot! Stop everybody! Stop! I'm not you! Get out! Look out! Hey there, Scrooge and Screech! Where is the Scrooge and Screech? Where is the Scrooge? That last one was a silly joke! Oh my God! I'm scared!
