Starting point is 00:00:00 Well hello travelers, should say bright suns. Welcome back to Walk About the World, your weekly stroll through the parks and resorts of Walt Disney World and Disneyland in California. So I'm sure you caught the hint in Judging by the Music. We have just stepped on worlds. We are now in Batuu. On Batuu. On Batuu. In Galaxy's Edge at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Currently standing just at the entrance as you leave Andy's backyard.

Starting point is 00:01:01 And enter Galaxy's Edge. Don't have a real plan for today. It is a hot one. In the high 80s, or low 90s probably by now. And it feels like in the 100s. It's very humid. But I think what we'll do is, it's been a while since I've been over to Galaxy's Edge, so...

Starting point is 00:01:29 Good place to start. I think we'll just take a stroll around the Galaxy's Edge, around Batuu, see what we can hear with... See with our ears, see with our eyes. I'll see it, you'll hear it. You know the drill. And then we'll see where we go from there oh there's a flyby and a child running by ah the things you hear on a walkabout.

Starting point is 00:02:08 So the clouds are coming in for the daily summer thunderstorm. So I think maybe after Batuu we'll head over to Sunset Boulevard and see if we can get some cool pictures of Tower of Terror with some dark clouds behind it.

Starting point is 00:02:27 We'll make that our plan. So here we go. Come on, let's walk around Batuu. We'll start here to the right. As you come in, there's a pod, crashed escape pod, and a big crater. That's the east coast over on the west coast you got something a little different at this entrance where you have uh i believe it's droids scattered droids speaking of droids droid depot straight ahead let's go say hi to some droids.

Starting point is 00:04:35 A couple of astromechs and a gunk. Thank you. Refreshers to our rent, a bunch of droid scraps to our lunch. I'm going to get a little bit of a runny nose. Looks like some First Order action in front of us here. Got some stormtroopers. Sounds good. Hold it right there. Who's the leader here? I'm watching you. Who's in charge here? Ava. That was a test. Good work, squad leader. Excellent. Strong trigger. Strong trigger. And we go. Stormtrooper? Stormtrooper? Blue and green milks to the left as we continue our circle around Galaxy's Edge.

Starting point is 00:05:24 We're being followed. Oga's Cantina to our right. Yeah, this of the Falcon. Black Spires of Black Spire outpost Are you okay? Are you okay? Yeah, I just got... No sign of Ray or Chewie over here. Only because he has the most important job. Oh, I got shit on my feet. Yeah.

Starting point is 00:07:14 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Lisa! Goodbye! Lisa! Goodbye! Does anybody else think the ship up on top of the docking bay restaurant looks like Roz from Monster Zinc? Is that just me? You gotta see it, right? You can take a picture of her. Just a falcon trying to get up and go. Might work this time. So close.

Starting point is 00:08:32 So close. You want to try and ride? We can try and do single rider. Why not? Let's try and hop in. The standby is only 40 minutes, which's pretty good but I'm a single rider let's see what we can do here I'm gonna see the rider line AC as we're going through the tunnels hello Hello! Bright suns. Very bright suns.

Starting point is 00:09:14 So here's a little tip when you are in the single rider line you get to a little fork in the road here where you can go either left or right. There's a garbage can. A lot of people keep going straight or right. If you go left, usually there's nobody there. In my experience. So we went left, up the stairs. Nobody here.

Starting point is 00:09:51 Here at the civil writer's entrance inside. Loads right into the Falcon. Can you give me a gunner? Can we be two gunners? Of course we have one gunner. One gunner, one engineer. I'll be an engineer. Then you can join this party as my next engineer. You guys are a gunner. Can we be two gunners? Of course we have one gunner. One gunner, one engineer. Starting point is 00:10:09 You guys are now party six. You guys are going to go down. Let's push those buttons together. It's fun no matter what. We're going to fix that gun. I was like, we're going to fix it. So it doesn't make sense. We're going to go back to New York at this time and carry him with you. Right this way.

Starting point is 00:10:22 How many of the next four are you? He was saying, he's like, I'm always going by him and be quiet. Watch your language. Watch your language. Watch your language. Starting point is 00:11:53 go ahead and pull up on those yellow straps. Then hit those flashlights. Have a safe flight. Just get ready to push some buttons. Flight engineer, repair test. Hit your flashing buttons. Good job, engineer. Right pilot, push the flashing button to take off.

Starting point is 00:12:22 Pilot on the left, move your stick to fly down and then pilot on the right move your stick to fly down and then move your stick to fly down weapons are online we are going to wait

Starting point is 00:17:40 Have you guys ever tried the mobile game around Batuu? Where you scan different things? I've actually never done that, but one of the things that you tend to scan in the different lines and stuff are those white jugs that I refer to as space mayo. Space mayo. Space mayo. I'm sure it's actually spice or some other galactic contraband. But to me, it'll always be space mayo. Maybe because it's full. Takandars to your left. Should I stand here or not? Ronto Roasters straight ahead. We're going to go through there and pass through the marketplace. Let's see how this can slow the rate of rotation by 20%.

Starting point is 00:18:51 Calculating. No, that will adversely increase thrust and back density. Keep correction. Maintain current rotation speed. Busy Marketplace, Creature Stall to your left. Jack, you want to go in there? Refreshers to your right. It's actually a nice breeze right now. It's not quite as hot as it was when we entered Batuu. Clouds are rolling in. X-Wing to our right, some Gonk Droids. I know we're going right, so I'm driving left.

Starting point is 00:21:03 A-Wing to the left. And a standby line for rise. Straight ahead. It's only at an hour right now. I say only, but you know how it is. So I think we're done in Batuu.

Starting point is 00:21:26 Let's head out. Toward the tower. Sunset Boulevard, here we come. I'm going to have a seat. Back on Earth. Off-world, on-world, back-off-world. Grand Park to our right, which is also known as the Muppet Courtyard. Pizza Rizzo. Muppet Vision 3D. Almost walked by, but then I decided, no, no, no, this is Walk About the World.

Starting point is 00:23:01 And that is one of the greatest water features of all time. The Miss Piggy Fountain. So we gotta, right? We gotta. Pay our respects to Miss Piggy. Okay, back on the road. Onto Grand Avenue. Baseline Tap House to the left. One of our favorites. We are going to head left.

Starting point is 00:24:17 If we were to go right, you've got Star Tours, Tatooine Traders Shop, Star Tours, and the Backlot Express. But we headed left which will take us by the Sci-Fi Diner. Another favorite. Meet and greet with Minnie to the right. Red Carpet Dreams and Mickey. Mickey and his sorcerer outfit. And the ABC commissary to the left. The commissary seems to

Starting point is 00:25:04 change their menu pretty regularly. I feel like every time I want to eat there it's different. Steve Harvey smiling at us. Celebrity family Feud poster. commissary of course is designed to be uh you know look like a studio commissary where filmmakers go to grub up

Starting point is 00:26:01 since this did indeed used to be a working studio they modeled it after that I miss those days the working studio at MGM so we're back into the courtyard which at one one point in time from from an aerial view was a giant hidden Mickey. If you didn't know that, look it up. Disney MGM giant hidden Mickey. Well, that's new. That came from a dockside diner. I don't think I've ever heard it do that before.

Starting point is 00:26:44 Cool. Jeremy, have you ever heard it do that? Hollywood Brown Derby to the left. Chippendale. We're doing some long distance meet and greets over there. Goofing off with the guests. Gotta love Chippendale. Now we are making our way down Sunset Boulevard. Just as I had hoped, mission accomplished, there are some very dark clouds looming over the tower, which is just what I wanted.

Starting point is 00:27:50 Something about a sunny day and beautiful blue and white puffy clouds over the Tower of Terror just doesn't feel the same, right? Give me that mood.
