Happy holidays, travelers, extended podcast, family.
As is our yearly tradition, we're going to do a reading as a crew for you of the night before Christmas.
And we're going to do that in just a second.
But after the reading, we have a Christmas gift for you.
You're in for a treat because host Michelle is going to be bringing you some incredible holiday ambience from the Disneyland resort, including, but not limited to,
the Dickens Yule Tide Band,
the Christmas Fantasy Parade,
and the Believe in Holiday Magic fireworks.
So wherever you are,
we hope you're well,
and you appreciate every single one of you
from all over the globe that listen.
Happy holidays,
and without any further ado,
here is the night before Christmas.
T'was the night before Christmas
went all through the house.
Not a creature was stirring.
Not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.
The children were nestled all snug in their beds
While visions of sugarplains danced in their heads
And Mama in her kerchief and I in my cap
Had just settled down for a long winter's nap.
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter
I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash
tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.
The moon on the breast of a new fallen snow
gave a luster of midday to objects below.
When what did my wondering eyes did appear,
but a miniature sleigh and eight tiny reindeer.
With the little old driver so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment he must be St. Nick.
More rapid than eagles, his coursers they came,
and he whistled and shouted and called them by name.
Now dasher, now dancer, now prancer and vixen.
On comet, on Cupid, on Donder and Blitzen, to the top of the porch, to the top of the wall,
now dash away, dash away, dash away, dash away all.
As leaves that before the wild hurricane fly, when they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky,
so up to the horse top, the courses they flew with a sleigh full of toys and St. Nicholas, too.
And then in a twinkling, I heard on the roof the prancing and pawing of each little hoof,
as I drew in my head, I was turning around down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound.
He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot, and his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot.
A bundle of toys he had flung on his back, and he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.
His eyes, how they twinkled, his dimples, how merry, his cheeks were like roses,
his nose like a cherry, his droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
and the beard on his chin was as white as the snow.
The stump of his pipe, he held tight in his teeth, and the smoke encircled his head just like a leaf.
He had a broad face and a little round belly, and when he laughed, shook like a bowl full of jelly.
He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf, and I laughed when I saw him in spite of myself.
In a wink of an eye and a twist of his head soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work, and filled.
all the stockings, and turned with a jerk, and laying his finger aside of his nose, and giving a nod
up the chimney he rose. He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle, and away they all flew
like the down of a thistle. But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight.
Happy Christmas to all, and to all a great big, beautiful tomorrow. And now, an episode from
the host of the show. Hello, travelers, and welcome.
back to A Walk About the World.
I am your host, Michelle,
and I'm currently standing on Main Street,
right in front of the train station, if you couldn't tell, by the train.
Currently, yeah, on Main Street,
looking at the giant tree, straight down at the castle.
And I'm kind of just taking in the holiday ambiance.
The smells are free, so I have popcorn to the little.
the left here. Smells delicious. Churros on the right. So you got all the essentials at the ready.
Currently waiting for the Dickens Yuletide band to come out and start playing some music.
So I'm going to hang out here for a minute, wait for the band, and then I'll catch up with you after.
A little stroll down Main Street, cruise by and see what they got in the window.
Looks like Nuttles. I've never had them personally, but I've heard they're good.
I'm going to make a slight detour and cut through the castle.
Just because it's all lit up and it looks fantastic.
Okay, about to walk through the castle now.
Sneak a quick photo into Fantasyland.
So I'm going to keep going down here, probably towards Small World and find a spot for the parade.
But it might take a bit.
It's crowded.
So I'm gonna leave you here and I'll see you after the parade
The 12 days left
Until Christmas I can hardly wait
Do not worry
Christmas Eve in my sleigh
With a bad foot
This be long
The magic of Christmas
The parade gets shorter and shorter every year
Which is fine
Because it has a super repetitive song in it
Just over and over again
So that's okay
Short is okay
but I rather see all the floats in it, that's for sure.
All right, so next we have Believe in Holiday Magic,
which is a fireworks show during the holiday time.
So I'm going to go camp out for a spot on that somewhere.
Maybe Main Street, if I'm feeling brave.
I'm not sure just yet.
But, yeah, I'll see you after that.
The magic of the holidays, is it filled with more memories
Just waiting to be discovered again.
Now is the time to open your heart and magic.
And remember those treasured moments.
They're still there, deep within you, waiting to touch you once more.
So come along with the season leads.
Wait for you like the holiday season until I see at least the parade and some of the fireworks
and at least one or two ginger fried cookies.
So I hope it brings you as much.
Joy as it does me and happy holidays.
