It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas here in the most magical place on earth and
the merriest place on earth, Disney's Magic Kingdom.
Welcome back to Walk About the World.
Welcome back to Town Square. Nutcrackers are right in front of me. Come on, it's not a joke. Brogy. Train behind me. Christmas tree is up, laden with decor.
We're going to do what we always do.
We're going to walk about together, see what we can see with our ears, soak in the ambience.
Lots of holiday decor. There's sweet treats to be had.
I've got my eye on one at, um, now I'm going to forget what it's called, Storybook Treats to be had. I've got my eye on one at, um, now I'm going to forget what it's called.
Storybook Treats?
I think it is.
They have a sugar plum soft serve.
What?
It's a sundae, but I'm going to see if they'll give me the soft serve without the sundae.
We'll see.
But if you're ready, and I think you are. Come on! The tree, one of the most interesting details of the tree,
at the very bottom, if you look,
it has a miniature version, a replica of the Carolwood Pacific train at the bottom.
And the tree itself is decorated with what looks like giant popcorn strings,
lots of little toys and dreidels and bells, gingerbread cookies.
Looks beautiful.
I'm crossing the street right now over towards the confectionary.
The garland here at the confectionary is classic green with brilliant glass decor
and silver and gold poinsettias well silver and gold stuff and poinsettias
what say you we take a walk right down the middle of Main Street, USA?
Lots of people to the left and right on the sidewalk.
They're having parades here featuring schools.
So lots of folks out to see them today.
Love to see the big wreaths hanging out over the sidewalks of Main Street USA,
and the lampposts are all decorated with garland.
The garland here on the lamppost is covered with sugared fruits and giant red bows.
It just feels like Christmas.
Let's take a right.
Here at Center Street. Passing here where you can get your silhouette done.
For you or your kiddos or I believe even your pet.
Crystal Arts to the left, facing towards the rear of Center Street here with Uptown Jewelers on the right. There are a couple of benches
back here and three red tables with umbrellas and lots of seating it's a hidden gem back here
if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of Main Street USA
and duck into Center Street
grab yourself a seat next to some of the shops
the windows are decorated like old downtown storefronts
and you can just chill and soak in the ambience a bit
that's our kind of speed.
Alright, back out to Main Street USA.
The Emporium across the street.
Multiple entrances.
Main Emporium entrance in red and gold lettering.
Emporium, Main Street USA since 1863.
Teddy bears, soft toys, collectibles, keepsakes.
Whatever you want, they have it.
Probably have some stuff you don't want to. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry.
You are in the middle of the action.
Right in the middle of Main Street USA.
Ice cream to your right and hot dogs to your left.
Don't put them together.
Castle's straight ahead and we're just about to enter the hub area.
Come on.
Let's find it.
No, no, no.
Red poinsettias just exploding in all of the flower beds here. you can hear him headed
drawn like a moth to the flame so we're in the innermost circle of the
castle hub before the center area of the hub where the partner statue is
full view of the castle it is a bright clear day it's in the 70s so this is
the perfection of weather in the winter season here in central florida
it's a crowded and bustling magic kingdom today but that feels right to me
it's comfy
garland around the lamppost here is classic pine green decorated with tropical fruits, which I find interesting.
So we have oranges, pineapples,
some citrus.
Really cool, and with a giant red bow on each. The top spires of the castle today are absolutely gleaming gold.
Sunset is around 530 here and we are late afternoon so we're already getting the low angle sun.
Makes the castle just shine. Okay, let's slowly make our way,
because remember, I have to go check out that sugarplum thing.
Let's make our way towards the center of the castle hub near the partner statue,
see if we can photobomb somebody.
Not on purpose, but if it it happens it's a bonus and then i would like to head over to liberty square because it is my other than
main street usa liberty square is my favorite christmas time area of magic kingdom okay come on. There will be no white Christmas here unless it involves soap bubbles.
It's still nice to hear.
I'm going to take a picture of one of these tropical wreaths for you. I love working here. Did you pick that up?
Cast member talking about how much they love it?
That's cool to hear.
Standing right in front of the partner statue here.
Attempting not to photobomb.
Walt and Minnie surrounded by beautiful red poinsettias.
And I took a picture for you because I care.
Okay. Okay.
And now imagine if you can in your mind's eye,
you are standing directly in front of the castle because you are. If you heard a thump noise, I just bumped into somebody.
All right, there's some cars and stuff coming down the lane from where we are headed over in Liberty Square.
So let's just cozy up and see what's going on.
Welcome, what and all, to the Magic Kingdom.
In just a few minutes, we will proudly present an enchanting celebration in the streets.
Our Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade.
And now, please welcome our honorary Grand Marshals.
Celebrating Kaylee's birthday, MJ and Kaylee from Wilmington, North Carolina.
Well, there you go. I don't think it would be right if we didn't pause for a minute or two, right? I'm going to let you know that in a couple of minutes, we're going to be closing this rope and then this area will be open.
This is open.
I'm going to keep that side of it open.
Sorry, that's a little bit. I was shooed across the street,
which of course I politely agreed to move
that's what you do Okay, as the Festival of Fantasy parade begins,
I'm going to take the back route over here to Liberty Square, if we can.
Let's give it a shot
and if we have to we'll go into Adventureland, because why not?
Now we did it.
We're headed across the wooden bridge,
cross the water over to Liberty Square. Yep. Castle moat water is green and beautiful
Liberty Bell saying hello.
All right, we've made it
to Liberty Square.
Stone walls and black rail fences Let's go in the Christmas shop for a second.
I don't know if we'll hear anything, but
I love walking into this place.
Forgive me, it's ye olde Christmas shop.
Sounds different in here immediately because of the wood plank floors
they have a new holiday train every year this one is green red and gold it gold. It's got Mickey and Minnie on it. I got one of these half
off at a local Disney outlet and have it around my tree as we speak. Low wood beam ceilings in here painted red.
Here we have a Making Christmas Magical Tree skirt this year.
It has Dumbo and the castle and a train.
And the castle is decorated like Small World.
So it's the castle, but it looks like Small World styling.
Looks great.
Store has wooden shelving all around the outside.
Tables with small Christmas trees on them with merchandise I love it
in here
okay let's step out Here we are at the Liberty Tree.
Here we are at the Liberty Tree.
How many lanterns are hanging from the Liberty Tree, folks?
Answer in three, two...
Replica of the Liberty Bell directly in front of us,
along with the flags of the colonies,
along with huge flower beds of red and green. Street sides are absolutely packed for the coming parade.
Standing right next to the Liberty Tree Tavern, which is on our left.
Fun fact, the Liberty Square area is home to most of the deciduous trees that you can find here in Magic Kingdom.
There's lots of native Florida, live oaks, pines, etc.
That over here you can find oaks and maples. All right. just walked past the entrance to Liberty Tree and it smells absolutely wonderful in there.
Oh, hello. The parade approaches. Hear ye, hear ye, royal guests from near and far.
Welcome to the Magic Kingdom.
You are warmly invited to join Minnie Mouse and his fantasyland friends for a magical celebration in the streets.
Dreams will come true, hearts will soar, and you will become a part of the magic.
For the time has come to take your places and prepare to welcome the wondrous and wonderful Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade! He's shining magically Crazy world
From the skies he'll fill and reach

The very first parade floats.
Followed by Anna and Elsa. Now we're going to hang out long enough for my favorite float which is on its way. It's a festival of fantasy Beauty and majesty Shining magically
This is the snuggly duckling float.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha!
With all of that crew
swinging back and forth on hammers so cool I'm not afraid, I'm not afraid I'm not afraid, I'm not afraid I'm not afraid, I'm not afraid

I'm not afraid, I'm not afraid I'm not afraid, I'm not afraid Okay, while the parade rolls on,
let's creep our way around down through the folks towards Frontierland is Here's the Peter Pan float with Pete up there on the pirate ship.
Captain Hook down below and Tinkerball falling behind.
Okay, let's duck through Island Supply Company.
Check out the sunglasses. Here you can get your
Michael Kors, Tory Burch, Coach
or even Prada sunglasses
I'll take two All right, folks, what I'm going to do, we're here in Adventureland.
I'm going to walk back towards Main Street, and then
I'm going to give you guys a break from me for a second while I stroll over to where
we can find the sugar plum dessert. So, come on. Let's walk through Adventureland in a
second. Swiss Family Treehouse to your right, folks.
And the Jungle Navigation Company Skipper Canteen to your left.
And straight ahead, Sunshine Tree Terrace looking at? I looked for her.
This is pretty cool. Adventureland Bridge And here we are, back near the castle hub.
You can hear the parade still rocking.
As you guys know, the parade cuts off a lot of access while it's moving,
so I'm going to leave you here.
Well, I'm going to carry you with me, but you're not going to hear it for a minute.
Is that weird?
I will see you over near the other side of the castle, near Winnie the Pooh.
Check in with you in a second. All right, my friends, the parade has dissipated.
We are now on the other side of the castle.
Cinderella Fountain to our left.
Sir Mickey's across the way, and we're heading around the corner to Winnie the Pooh and maybe a holiday treat.
Come with me. Walk this way.
I'm walking weirdly, by the way. I lost something. What? There's something left? I lost something.
I lost something.
I lost something.
I lost something.
I lost something.
I lost something.
I lost something.
I lost something.
I lost something.
I lost something.
I lost something. I lost something. Jack? Jack? Passing Prince Charming's
carousel to your left
the gates of Fantasyland straight ahead
We're going to take a gentle right over here
past Friars Nook.
If I'm not confused I think our final destination awaits ahead. Here we are at Storybook Treats.
Hoping to stare at a menu. Hang on. Ah, here it is. It is a sugarplum vanilla
soft serve sundae. Sugarplum vanilla soft serve dipped in celebration cake cone and topped with marshmallows and almonds. it said Sunday so I thought it came with tons of other stuff that I didn't want but I think
I'll just take the whole thing okay I'm gonna get in line. Heather is here.
She is roaming somewhere and is going to meet me here.
But I'm going to get in line, purchase this lovely treat,
and I'll meet up with you once I have it in hand.
Okay, we found a spot, Heather and I.
Hello, Heather.
Hi, everyone.
That was rude.
She was eating ice cream.
Right outside of Cosmic Rays, near the teacups, there's some tables outside here,
and it is like 70 and just wonderful.
So we took our sugar plum dessert over here and tried it out.
The verdict is sugar plum soft serve is great
i would love to see that here forever i will say if you if you gave it to me and i didn't know what
it was i'm not sure i could tell you that sugar plum because you know what i don't think i've
ever had any sugar plum anything um it tastes a little bit like raspberry, but also with some floral something going on, some spiciness going on.
And then it's got like a hard shell of white chocolate with birthday cake sprinkles and almonds and stuff.
Overall, delicious. It's enormous. I think four people could share this.
But, I'm going to turn the corner we're going to go around
the other side of Cosmic Rays
into the heart of Tomorrowland and we will
wrap up there, see you in a minute That was the teacup stopping. I'm going to scream! I'm going to scream! I'm going to scream!
I'm going to scream!
I'm going to scream!
I'm going to scream!
I'm going to scream!
I'm going to scream!
I'm going to scream!
I'm going to scream!
I'm going to scream!
I'm going to scream!
I'm going to scream! I'm going to scream! Some old school Tomorrowland ambience.
The sun setting behind the cosmic gray Starlight Cafe sign.
And the smell of fried burgers and various other things assaulting me.
Let's give it, I mean, isn't this a perfect, a perfect opportunity for a Walk About the World episode ending here?
You know what song's playing, right?
Uh-huh.
