Hello, travelers, old friends and new, and to all who come to this happy little podcast, welcome back to Walk About the World. And today, welcome to the most magical place on earth, Disney's Magic Kingdom, for the first time in 2023. And speaking of 2023, welcome to Season 3 of Walk About the World. Can you believe it? We started this little adventure together in March of 2021 and journeying together through the rest of that year and all the way through 2022 together.

And now we are embarking on 2023 and what a better place to start than disney's magic kingdom especially today for something that i've been waiting on for a long time and that is the return of the walt disney world railroad as you can hear behind me we are about to take a ride all the way around Magic Kingdom on this wonderful choo-choo. I am a train guy. Ever since I was a little kid, I have loved trains. Now as an adult, I love, I still love trains, but I also, you know, when you're a grown-up,

you have a little money, and so I have several sets of Lionel electric trains bring them out at Christmas I just I love them I've always loved steam trains and Walt Disney World Railroad has always been something that has just fascinated me I I still want to take the behind-the-scenes tour we can go to the train building see how they care for it and all that good stuff one day I hope to do that but today finally after all One day I hope to do that. But today, finally, after all this time, I get to ride my beloved train here at Walt Disney World again, and I want to take you along with me. Before we do, I want to do just a tiny little reminder.

We're not good at this. We call ourselves the least ambitious podcasting because of that, like we're, we're legit not good at promoting ourselves here, but I wanted to ask you guys in 2023, but those of you that listen on Spotify, and I know a great many of you do consider giving us a follow there so that our episodes are in the weekly feed. Especially because it's certified proof that in these parts dreams really do come true. See there was a time not so long ago that I was just a young fella on Main Street with a balloon in my hand and a wish in my heart that someday I'd be the conductor of this train. And wouldn't you know it with a bit of gumption and a dash of magic, here I am. So believe it when I say that around here, anything is possible. See what I mean?

Hope you're proud to come to this, because that, folks, is the sound of adventure. Or adventure land, I should say. Whether navigating wild jungle rivers, swashbuckling with jolly buccaneers, or even just scaling a towering treehouse, there's always plenty to explore here in Adventureland! Now if you're more the rootin' tootin' tonk then harvest saddle off! This here's Frontierland, home to outposts, campfires and country bears. This outpost is full of tall tales and even taller mountains. Yonder is Big Thunder Mountain and its runaway mine trains. While just ahead is Splashman, where you'll find Bray Rabbit in his laughing place. Oh, be sure to say hi! Those critters love when folks drop in.

We've reached Frontier Bad Stakes in one so sick time. Hold those horses until we come to a complete stop. If you disembark, please carry your strollers all the way off the platform before unfolding. That will help make room for any new buggeroos. Watch your step now! This is Frontierland Station. station. Please remain fully seated until we receive our all-clear. Please remain fully seated. before carrying on to Main Street, USA. Everybody stay seated and keep your hands and arms, feet and legs safely inside the train. Those of you who've been riding with me for a spell already know how much I love minding this rhythm. But for those times I'm fiction for something a bit wilder, the big thunder bong is the place.

Is this the trades that remind them their own? The change in scenery means we've left the rattle and grumble of that old gold mine behind and entered my favorite leg of the journey. Lush wilderness, calm waters, and untamed beauty. Folks, we're in nature's wonderland. Isn't it something? Just think of the extraordinary things to see and do in these woods. Hiking trails, bird calls, fireflies and starry nights. Setting out for adventure at sunrise and telling the tale around a campfire that night.

Considering how wonderful things are out here, I'm fortunate that some of my closest friends call it home. That village is a truly special place. Folks, we're just about out of the woods and into the forest. The enchanted forest of Fantasyland, where magic... Listen. Hear that? There it is! On that big metal snake! Oh, see, Jack?

That's not a snake. It's a train. Train, huh? Well, I think it's finally time I trained my shadow. I'm going to have to get out of here. I'm going to have to get out of here. I'm going to have to get out of here. I'm going to have to get out of here.

Well, I think it's finally time I trained my shadow to stay put. Come here. Hey! It's back here, Shadow. Shadow! Oh, think again. We really must find some stronger fans told you it's enchanted and not just the forest from the tips of castle spires to the sands under the sea magic and happily ever afters await around every corner in Fantasyland.

Friends, travelers, children of all ages, we're coming down the track and headed straight for the stupendous, the sensational, the spectacular epic Fantasyland Storybook Service! This is the place to soar with Dungo or join Goofy in his stunt plane for some airborne acrobatics. This station is also your gateway to the quest of Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. Now, please wait until the train has come to a complete stop. Gather your juggling pins, unicycles, and other belongings and carry your strollers away from the platform before unfolding. That way we can start loading up for the next leg of our trip. For those disembarking, please watch your step and thanks for traveling with us. I hope you join us again real soon. and not just because we're on a straightaway. Our metropolis of mechanical marvels, Tomorrowland. As you know, I love this railroad about as much as a songbird loves the morning. You might say the sky's the limit, but even that is no obstacle in tomorrow. Our trip around the Magic Kingdom is almost complete. I can't thank you enough for spending part of your day with me. And I hope you've enjoyed your journey as much as I've appreciated being a part of it. We're now approaching our most charming destination, Main Street, USA. A place where the only thing sweeter than the townsfolk is the treats. After our stop, we'll be heading for Frontierland, followed by a visit to Fantasyland. For now, stay seated until our train comes to a complete stop. Then pick up your belongings and carefully disembark. If you have strollers to unfold, please take them all the way beyond the platform so new passengers can safely hop aboard.
