Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome to part two of Walking the Dog with the fabulous Jedwood. Do go back and listen to Part 1 if you haven't already because these boys are just endlessly entertaining. I'd also love it if you gave us a like and a follow so you can catch us every week. Here's John and Edward and Rayway. I can't explain what it is but I think I've been sitting with you for a bit now and I think I understand why people love spending time with you. I think I get it. Do you?
Starting point is 00:00:28 Yeah, I can't put my... my fit. It depends on what it is, you know. Do you want to know what it is? It's a very authentic energy. Do you know what I mean by that? Like it's a very real. You know, I remember and you're right, this. I work. Thanks for that. But we have good hangs. One of the jobs I did, you know when you do jobs when you're starting out? Oh no, you don't because you're international pop stars at 17. But let me tell you this, guys. The rest of us working record shops and things like that back when they existed.
Starting point is 00:00:59 And I worked in a record shop called R Price which used to be everyone would buy records there and there was an Irish guy called Manus Yeah okay that's not really no Irish name is it Is it not? M-A-N-U-S Manis that sounds like a rock singer But he was a bit like he had this mad hair
Starting point is 00:01:14 And he said to me, I'm going to attempt to an Irish accent So apologies Your first name wasn't Dennis, Dennis, Dennis, No, he said, do you know what I like about you And I said what he went, there's no lying in you Emily And I always love that, there's no lying in you And I think there's no lying in you too
Starting point is 00:01:27 You're a good girl There's no line in you. You're good. Do you like that? I like it. That sounds like a good song. I suppose like obviously I hold on to people's secrets, you know, but... Do you?
Starting point is 00:01:37 You too must have a lot of secrets. And I would trust you with my secrets. I'm an open book pretty much. Because sometimes people tell us their secrets, but then it's like I almost... It's their business. You know what I mean? They trust you with their business. It's almost like we're at Catherine's party.
Starting point is 00:01:51 She told me she was expecting. We should say now. We're talking about... Do you want to explain how Jedwood and I met? We met at Catherine Ryan. Easter party. Of course we did. And we're all having the chats.
Starting point is 00:02:01 It was all a good vibes. There was a lot of chocolate. Yeah. And... We bought a half in a big chocolate Easter bunny. Yeah. Impulsive buy.
Starting point is 00:02:09 I spotted that East Bunny. And I thought, oh shit, someone's really pulled the boat out. I've turned up with... I've literally turned up with my Kit Kat or whatever, my tiny little shop bought eggs.
Starting point is 00:02:20 Your Gerwood Bar. Some bugger has pulled the boat out. And it was Jedward. They out did us all. And I really... I really liked you. I remember you came over and you were talking about Ray and I knew you genuinely loved dogs. I could tell there was a genuine dog loving vibe coming from you guys. It's different depending on the dog, how you interact with it, I think.
Starting point is 00:02:41 But the thing is, there's a lot of characters. That party, they're almost like shocked to see us there. Do you think so? And I met people that I've met years before and they're always going on. We should do something. We should do something. Let's go to a party. Oh, I'll have you over. It's very hard to kind of...
Starting point is 00:02:53 Catherine Rye met us within weeks and had us in her house. She's making moves. The thing is, like, a lot of people in London, they go on about missing you. She's actually hilarious. She's actually hilarious. Like, her show is hilarious. We went to her show.
Starting point is 00:03:01 We never laughed so much. We got new wrinkles. Like my mussels in my face were like, I've never used these muscles. But guys, I would say also of Catherine, as you're Irish, look, my mum's Welsh, so I think that allows me.
Starting point is 00:03:12 It's sort of, you know, I'm Celtic. Would you ever do comedy? Oh, well, I work with comedians. I'd love to do comedy. You could teach us. Why I was talking about Catherine is, because she told me at the pregnancy before she'd announced it.
Starting point is 00:03:23 And weeks had passed and nothing had leaked or nothing had been said and I felt like that was a good moment to trust to be like she told me this as she told us but then she hadn't announced it so it was almost like a sign of trust that she told us because I know how important that is for a woman to be pregnant and then having to go to that phase of
Starting point is 00:03:39 yeah I'm just going to call this baby we don't have to bore a girl what the baby I don't know I have some good names do you I keep a list of names in my phone do you what's that for I don't know just because you come across
Starting point is 00:03:51 an interesting name that's a cool name because everyone's having babies and getting married in all sorts and I'm just keeping it real still I bet you know what Jed would a good god parent oh there's been a guy there's my helicopter now it's coming the listeners listening that think I'd get helicopters everywhere that's Simon Cow what Simon Cow like I won't ask you about any of the other ones what's Simon Cowell like the thing is like he's tanned he's smaller than us he's obviously said horrendous things to us on TV we wish them well we do wish them all even these people I can't hold on to it even my worst enemy I
Starting point is 00:04:21 still want them to be okay and at peace and for them to get on with their life and for us as well. But I think he's a different version of himself now than what he was when we knew him. Right, yeah. And when I see the relationship he had with his acts and they talk about them, it's nothing enough surprise knowing the distance.
Starting point is 00:04:37 I get it. I feel like now the workspace of managers, they want to have a relationship with their actual artist. It's not this like, I'm superior to you, you give me your percentages and I'll make your dreams come true. I'll burn them out for two years. It's now a workplace environment
Starting point is 00:04:51 where there's only certain regulations that you want to be superior. work with people that I have natural interest in you and don't see like a money opportunity. Yeah. So he was never directly like our first single was it with vanilla ice and ice baby with Sony and it was number two. It saw 88,000 copies that week but because they put out I think Simon and the team put out a press release that we've been dropped and it was so extreme that it was almost like a placed release to put out to the press almost to bury us on our career and then the next week we were Simon Universal but it was almost very calculated that they were like
Starting point is 00:05:23 going to put out a single and make a big storm that we've been dropped. And at the time when it hit the media that you were dropped, it was almost like the public were meant to feel like your career was over. Yeah, it was it was, I can, I agree with that. They used to always do it to axe. It was almost like set them up for a high and then make out they were over. Like the axe has been dropped. It was like being cancelled.
Starting point is 00:05:41 Yeah. It was the old version of being cancelled. And the whole thing was that, like, at the time, there's only a certain amount of slots on TV shows that they have to wean off loads of talent to make clear lanes for the town they want to promote. and it even happens now that you don't get the opportunities because there's focus artists in the music industry and the thing is when you fight beyond the mold of the formulas that the big labels have it's almost like they're always shocked that you're coming through so prevalently with the public because they've always post a TikTok and get like a 110,000 shares are just so much shares and just they're still love there.
Starting point is 00:06:14 Because they've got their golden boys they got their golden um artists that it's like when you know you're not paying for press you're not paying to be a main focus artist you know that it's real so I was fine. Yeah, because if you had a shop on a street and a few hundred people turn up a day, that's a success, you know what I mean? Yeah, yeah. You don't need to see you people. Because there's massive artists now
Starting point is 00:06:32 and they're getting the massive streams on Spotify. Now, like, they can do a deal where it's like, we're going to get you 20 million and they put them in a select amount playlist that the artist is guaranteed a chart position. But back in the day, you used to have to go to all the stores
Starting point is 00:06:44 and do CD signings. So in the world, there's a few 100,000 Jarrett albums, physical. Because the thing is, we love going to charity shops and getting, like, really good vibes. I never see a Gerred CD in a charity shop. Do you know? Why not? No, because people love to their heart.
Starting point is 00:06:57 People they went out and spent that 15, 12-pal, whatever it was. I would hold on to it for my house. But we're going to do better. We actually are going to do better with music. I feel like our new music's more going to be put on a vinyl. I feel like it's... Really? Yeah, I think so.
Starting point is 00:07:08 I think it's all real music and it's all not trying to write like a real catchy song, all like a more cohesive sound. So I feel like... It's about being realistic. I feel like releasing it under a suitor name. I think you should. And then go peekaboo. It's us actually.
Starting point is 00:07:20 Sike. It's actually us. Thanks very much under this mask. I think that's... Because the thing is we've had songs that are massive in Korea and Asia. And we had a song called Every Superstar, Second Al, and was number one for a band out there. It was massive for them.
Starting point is 00:07:32 Then we had another song that another artist took the dance break off and put it out there and it was massive for him. But because we weren't given the opportunity, because it's us, the song didn't get to reach its full potential. I think just being a music artist and in the entertainment world, just have to be realistic what's possible. Because people are always like, follow your dreams and you can be deluded and think,
Starting point is 00:07:50 oh, it's going to happen for me, but it doesn't just happen unless... I know, but it's all in the past. Nowadays, to sell music, you have to sell a whole tour and go, oh, if you get, it's like, people don't necessarily want to buy. But I think where you too, and I really always have such admiration for this, is you've never been grand. You've never sort of forgot yourself.
Starting point is 00:08:08 So I think the thing is, you know, I was once told by someone in this business, it's yes, begets yes. So if you say yes, will you come on eight out of ten cats? Never done that, a bit random. But yeah, why not? Then that leads to other things. that leads to something else. That gets you in front of Jimmy Card, whatever.
Starting point is 00:08:25 And I always, I think your yes attitude. We're going to show to your night, where are we? We were on a show us in her night for a few minutes. Yeah, but I remember it. What's interesting? We were always thrown in the deep, we didn't know how it was anything going to play. But you know what's interesting is that also,
Starting point is 00:08:38 and this is where I also think you've been so clever, you never, you were very sure of who you were and what your brand was. So when you're an 8 out of 10 cats, it's all right for Jimmy and Sean, God rest of his soul, to be doing potty mouth talk. You never did that. I think you were very smart because you thought,
Starting point is 00:08:59 okay, this is getting a bit late night adult, some of this stuff. That's not our fans, that's not us. I know you had to stay. And you feigned brilliantly a sort of innocence. I felt anyway. Yeah, isn't a good headspace? Am I right?
Starting point is 00:09:13 Gentle headspace. No, we were very aware of what they were talking about, but we knew ourselves that we couldn't acknowledge those things because they make headlines. Because it was crazy, because it used to go on, obviously when shows are pre-recorded. Like celebrity, G-Sea-Sones.
Starting point is 00:09:23 There'd be different comedians that are beyond. They'd be saying all sorts of stuff that would never be able to be aired, but it would throw everyone off in the real moment in real time. And you'd just be like, obviously, anything that was ever aired of us was what we said. But then I just think that maybe they knew that that would throw everyone in the way. But we knew what was setting up a joke or setting up a gag on a show. Like, we were very aware that it was going to lead to something that they'd come in with. It was something they could work with.
Starting point is 00:09:48 That almost looking back, it's like, we're almost like, comedians, but we do put it out to get a laugh or get a response. We don't just do stuff that's going to drop. We want something to kind of carry and get a conversation going. I feel me and John, we're on these shows. We don't even plan on being the main focus on a panel. And sometimes I feel like we don't get a certain reality show because I know that we dominate the waves on the storyline.
Starting point is 00:10:09 That sometimes it's almost like there's one of a few celebrities that kind of all fit levelly. But if we go on a show, it almost gets too much of a bump in the road. I feel like we don't take any digs at anybody. I feel like we're us, a lot of people can come out us and say this and about whatever it is but then I'm not saying that towards them when they're like literally
Starting point is 00:10:26 whatever age they're meant to be they're telling me to grow up I'm only in my 20s they're like you know whatever age they're meant to be but I'm not throwing things at them I think as a society everyone feels that just because you're not a teenager I feel like we open up for people to have a laugh having a nice gentle easy going time that's important we're 33 we're not going to suddenly become
Starting point is 00:10:46 boring I feel a lot of people but in the mainstream they put out this serious side like that we ought to be talking about like degrees in politics and what's happening in the news but like we're also able to have a laugh on the side like nowadays in university you can study social media in all sorts there's all sorts of things you can study that you ever think you would like to go to university or I have to get a lot of degrees now we're good we're qualified on loads of different things which what you have to answer that is we're Jedwood we went
Starting point is 00:11:15 to the university of JETI can lecture and inspire and get them a good speech and how they need to manoeuvre themselves in life. You've got a PhD in Jedward. We've performed at Royal Holloway. We've done Cambridge. We've done extra. They are all growing. And we've been asked to collect all sorts of
Starting point is 00:11:29 prestigious awards. They're all going to go on and be the society of 10 years from now and they are losing their rocker to Jedward in their university right now. And at the end of the cause, I'm like, guys, don't forget us when you get your different work qualifications.
Starting point is 00:11:44 Someday I'll be in hospital and going, it's me, I'm going to make sure you're all right, John. Thank you. Thank you. I could be with Jedward forever. What I'm saying is, I got appendicitis during the pandemic and I had, I lost the feel in my bits and bobs down there and had to put them to a catheter.
Starting point is 00:11:59 Everyone had to come and hold it. And I'm saying I was in this private situation that even when we're in hospital, the nurses and doctors, everyone's still loki having moments or having Jenward vibes. I had an old man next to me who was, I don't know, he had like heart operation or something, but he was still able to hear my voice and knew it was me on his lowest moment of health. and he was calling up half of Ireland to tell me I was next to him in the hospital. I had the best healthcare for private rooms
Starting point is 00:12:24 but then I downgraded because I thought I was in the best of health. But then, yeah, I had to share this room with this lad. But what I was saying is that we find ourselves in scenarios where even in private health care people are still wanting an autograph. They want really? Or ask me about Simon Cow when I'm trying to get like my blood's done. That must be quite difficult sometimes. I think it's because you're very approachable
Starting point is 00:12:42 and you seem very kind and nice. Do you know what you mean? you're not like some people you would think oh I worry about approaching them whereas I think oh no they'll be nice to me but some people don't live up to themselves I feel it's such a letdown that when you meet someone who's on TV or they don't live up to that sense of of what you thought they were that it's almost like yeah I like that we live up to what we are and you've been very random lately I was I was a long day I said I had like four hours sleep yesterday so I've been go we'll go here there and everywhere so you're catching me at a low moment oh I love it
Starting point is 00:13:15 this is your low I'm love loving your low. I want to touch on your frankly insane friendship group because your mates with Ed Sheeran who just adores you, doesn't he? Yes, we've had a lot of memories. I remember the first time when Ed used to wear like T-shirts, we were like, come on, Ed, you need to get some nice suits going. We gave him a study leather jacket. I feel like we pushed him in the right direction to express himself even more. Now his new album's pink. How did you meet? Yes, it is. How did you meet Ed? We did his first interview on the BBC of Pre-Record As some questions about his first album. And that was like the first time
Starting point is 00:13:46 Did you just really get on with him? I feel like a lot of people meet him and they want to talk very profoundly about his songs and songwriting but we let him nerd out and geek out. At the time. We're not holding him to this level of poetry that we have to like talk about the meaning of life. It's more just like having a laugh with him.
Starting point is 00:14:00 Because obviously there is a time and place to be really, really serious and go, I'm going to really be serious here and figure out what I'm going to sing about. I remember he told us what he was going to name all his albums before they'd even come out and we knew the whole plan. It was this tattoo he had around his wrist. It was like the plus the minus the divide. But even now like he just wants to have like lie hard
Starting point is 00:14:14 moments in a place of just like kind of like obviously writing a song or your exploring stuff and catching moments don't exist I feel like we're able to bounce off each other and he could say something and we just meet him there and be like ha ha ha I can't talk about what we're talking about but just believe me it's random it's about being friends with them it's about sitting into their scenario with their mom their dad like we get on very well with everyone else in his circle that we're almost like part of the missing piece to the party and the and his security and everyone kind of has the vibes with us because sometimes people
Starting point is 00:14:41 think the friendship is just you and that person but it's more like in their falling into their wave of life around their circle. Yeah, I see that. But if you're a missing piece and you're so off the magnetic energy, you don't fit in. But he is very busy. He still makes time. Yeah, he's so busy. The fact is that he always checks in with us, that he was one of the only people to give us flowers or our mom passed and he was checked in with us.
Starting point is 00:15:00 Oh, guys, that's so lovely. Even Louie, no one, like people had worked with us that should have given their respects, did it? But I'm just saying that he always kind of, somehow it's almost like a guardian angel checking in or overseeing, are we all right? right. Isn't that lovely? Yeah, and like he's so busy, like you'd always get back to us, then sometimes if someone doesn't get back to you're like, well, they're not as busy as Ed Sherrod, so good luck to them. Do you know, I always think that's
Starting point is 00:15:23 great. I use that quite a lot. Whenever people say, I'm so busy, I didn't get back to you. If you're friends, like I was, we were talking earlier about things in common and I say I'm friends with, you know, Jonathan Ross say or Frank Skinner and I think, if Jonathan Ross can return my text, what's your excuse? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:39 Do you know what I mean? I feel like he has a real, like, he's got a whole house and his and we'll be pulled up to his house and he brought us in and he has like seven or eight pugs he's got like all these limited edition comic books and this really cool I remember a few years ago we knocked on his door and he let us in it
Starting point is 00:15:52 showed his whole man cave of all his rare antiques you say antiques and he will be I hope he's listening to this and sorry Jonathan but they're not antiques they're weird toys that make me feel a bit ill I don't want
Starting point is 00:16:08 we must have been showing you different toys I was just seeing action figures and collectibles. Yes, they are. They're all toys and action figures. Maybe it's changed since the last time.
Starting point is 00:16:17 No, it's still the same, but they are action figures. A lot of them are Japanese, sort of, these things called Microw Men, he's obsessed with. I don't really even understand any of it. I just remember seeing Spider-Man. Yeah, Spider-Man, who likes.
Starting point is 00:16:28 You know, like James Blunt. We were on a pizza with Tara Reid and he kind of has a soft spot for her, so we were all at the house and we're all having the vibes. And he woke up the next morning, he went on, like, news and said that he found Gerber in a room
Starting point is 00:16:37 with loads of people, but it was a massive apartment room. And we always find ourselves where the person really remembers that moment. It's nice when you connect because you can see each other because you're living the same life in ways. But I feel like it's nice
Starting point is 00:16:50 when you meet people that are doing the same thing that you're doing, but they're very open to being people and expressing how it makes them feel. Sometimes people can be closed off and be like, ah, just get on and be like just very surface level. But it's nice when you can chat about
Starting point is 00:17:03 how they feel about it, how it's making them feel what they're going through. And Gemma Collins you became mates with. Did you partly bond? You both experienced Celebrity Big Brother, hadn't you? We used to see Gemma over the years at different things for short periods of time, but then we really connected kind of before Co. Like when was this?
Starting point is 00:17:21 Yeah, I feel like Gemma, we had lived in London. Gemma would invite us over for like a weekend or a few days, and we all just had really good chats, really good hangs that just didn't. There weren't like highs and lows where you'd have a great conversation. You wouldn't talk all day and beyond your phones. It was just a very consistent energy throughout the day. And like she comes up with stays and ours and we like put new sheets on the beds and have a good hoover.
Starting point is 00:17:40 She's in London today. I'd make it really special if Gemma Collins is coming up, I'd be making it nice. We'd like a nice little hotel experience. Egyptian cotton sheets, babe, all the way. We get little snacks, it's like an experience. But they're soft enough, they're soft enough. But I think is, I feel like Gemma's kind of like us. We've all lived the same reality life.
Starting point is 00:17:58 Like Big Brother at our reality shows. Obviously she can rise to the occasion, but I just think with us when we're together, we're obviously we might go to have the odd nice thing to eat, but she does like keeping it real, like doing stuff like this, going to the park, sitting down, walking the dogs, And when she had those, obviously just giving her a help in hand, because sometimes she's just by herself, she's going through stuff that necessarily, like, no one would think of and the fact that you're there to give,
Starting point is 00:18:21 you know, genuine advice because we're from Ireland and we're kind of, like, so outside the bubble in a way. She had a lot of craze to have happened to her recently that, like, it's nice that we're there to support her and talk through it. Because there's different people, like, we go back and listen to things, like, who call the paparazzi or how did someone know I was going to be there? We're, like, sometimes we're paparazzi. It's almost a scenario where, like,
Starting point is 00:18:39 how could someone have known we were there? It's almost like we have to go backtrack on text to be like who she's told or who we've told them. Because even like Gemma, obviously we're all human but behind the scenes can be a lot on your plate and stuff that's happening. That is, it's obviously, it's happening in your life but it's not necessarily you can just tell the whole entire world.
Starting point is 00:18:56 But at the same time, it can be, it's nice to have that support and be able to... Or different Instagram deals. I say like an advert comes in for us or might go to Gemma might do something but she'd let us know what we should be getting paid or what she got paid or. Isn't that helpful?
Starting point is 00:19:09 We both businessy help each other. Or like if I had a deal that we got a deal We go over and we're not able to do it But Gemma We give the reality Like we kind of help each other out We kind of know Yeah I do some which is a handy mans
Starting point is 00:19:20 I was helping prop the fence in her backyard Because she's got a guy I think just different things like that Or like even just help feed just stuff Proper friends I love Hey guys how does it work Because this must happen sometimes And obviously Gemma doesn't come under this umbrella
Starting point is 00:19:34 Because you both think she's fabulous Everyone thinks she's fabulous If you meet someone let's say Edward really likes this person. Yeah. And then John is not so keen. How does that work? How does it work?
Starting point is 00:19:49 Well, it's hard even talking about because they all listening to everything I do. And I don't necessarily want, if you really want to... And give it all your secret. They listen to all the bits of bob. So I think is every experience for me is different and new. So I don't, I'm always chasing a different flavour.
Starting point is 00:20:04 Everyone's their own flavour. There's no. But what I mean is if you meet someone... What I find is if I meet someone, and they have a problem with, John and that's a problem because John's my best friend but it'd be different if John wasn't by with that person because it's coming from him towards that other person but I think it's to still be easy they should be able to like adapt to
Starting point is 00:20:19 the dynamic and what is it shouldn't be like oh editor what I want it should it should just be what I was saying is would you ever so like would there be a situation Edward where you'd have to go along let's say you didn't like a friend of John's or something would you want me like oh you better come along or it's going to look really obvious you don't like that but if they don't like John it's part of my being, it's almost like insulting a different version of myself because John's lived the same life as me that it's almost a red flag that... Got it. You come as a package? But it's John's just so like me in ways that...
Starting point is 00:20:50 But I think ultimately like... I know obviously people come in your life, but there's my part, eras my best friend, you know, we grew up together so I don't need a... You know, obviously we have our little tiffs here and there and you can talk about it, but ultimately we... Who's better at making up? If someone says something about John that I get offended, but if I say it about John, Really? Yeah. John makes up. Do you think that's true? We both make it. I feel like I can, I don't know, I can always kind of grow and whatever it else is.
Starting point is 00:21:15 Who's better? We keep having the same fight the whole time. What's it about? It's about, what's it about? It's where, like, he might do something and I can really logistically talk about. He'll just be like, nah, it's you, John, it's you. It's not that deep. Come on, guys. What is the constant? It's more about souls.
Starting point is 00:21:31 It is all about music. No, but what's the row around the house about? There must be, who's messier, John and Edwards? It's just if I'm really eager about something, I just want him to be as excited as I am about her. It's just, it's very minor. John broke a washer. This is the lot more like.
Starting point is 00:21:47 You broke a curtain. Like there's a lot of crick breaking. No, like, of recent, like, I could be doing a lot of cleaning and really, like, lifting my weight, and he's not lifting his weight as much as me, and he's looking at me. He could be looking at me doing something. But we have moments of focus where who's better at doing stuff.
Starting point is 00:22:00 Who's tied you? Me, I actually, I think it's me. I think I make it effort with them myself to figure it out. I think we have our moments, but I think he kind of like opens the floodgates sometimes to... We're always, it's always a half and a half. Who cries more? I don't think, yeah, I don't know. We have our moments, but we're not crying all times.
Starting point is 00:22:18 We're never crying like visually. And I do like... I do like, you don't really? I do like feeling my emotions. No, I do cry sometimes, but not like over John. Not John's that bring the emotions to me. But do you both cry? It just depends on when the moments...
Starting point is 00:22:32 I think talking about whatever you're feeling about, whatever else happens. Your life is great. Sometimes people, they hold emotions back and then it all gets built up. So I always do talk about, how I'm feeling about stuff. Like, I really do. What about, would you have therapy together? We've never had therapy. Was you?
Starting point is 00:22:48 No. Would you ever have? John said this to be like that, like other people have therapy, that we just need to talk things out because, you know, other people. I feel like we get through a lot of life, considering we don't have all these. But then you've got the GC. You're fine.
Starting point is 00:23:01 Yeah. Which has got us to talk about whatever else it is. We do have good opinions though We don't just hit you with the The textbook type stuff We try to kind of figure down how Yeah Move yourself through it
Starting point is 00:23:14 So that's important in life That's what I'm looking for in a relationship as well Are you? I feel like I've got so much Bars to bring You know and statements and then But you do come as a package guys No no like obviously
Starting point is 00:23:25 To a degree Yeah What I mean by that What I mean is that you It's a good sign I think if someone hadn't have gotten with my sister that would be a major red flag.
Starting point is 00:23:38 Do you know what I mean? I think it's a real gift to have them. I think it's like the family and all those other things are a different level of how further the relationship's going because someone can be great with you
Starting point is 00:23:47 but if they're not fitting into your reality and your people that's not a puzzle piece that's been placed. Have you enjoyed it? We so much requests for podcasts and I was like, I bet you did. I was so thrilled when you said yes.
Starting point is 00:24:04 No, good. The thing is that we met you before so it wasn't like, So I feel like you have to know it on some sort of person I feel like we've got a new term podcast. Like you and Catherine, we met Catherine before we did her podcast. So she almost like earned the way of us having the conversation. So you have to plant the sea before you decide you want a whole flower.
Starting point is 00:24:22 I like that. Because a lot of people, they want us on their podcast. We don't personally know them but then they're not even invested in us to, you know. Also it's just that thing of, yeah, there's got to be an element of trust as well, hasn't there? Yeah. You know, just because. It is good because I just feel. like even us, I don't know we have our own podcast, but it's coming from a good place.
Starting point is 00:24:40 And when you meet people, you know, it's coming from a good place. That's the most important thing. You know what? The most important thing when you meet someone? There's no lying in them. There's no lying in them. It's no lying in them. It's no lying in.
Starting point is 00:24:50 Yeah, but I feel like we'll hang out again. It's not like we're just going to open our thoughts. You think you're going nowhere, boys. Thank you. Now I know you are on my door steps. Thank you. In North London. I had no idea.
Starting point is 00:25:03 We're over there. We would have been best with George Michael if he was still with us. That's where all my feet. friends live. We're over that way. You see, I'm not far at all. We're always bumping into people. I'm not far at all. This is my manner as well. We'll have a vibe. And so I think we should take... We can all go swim in the legs.
Starting point is 00:25:17 But we do a girl. I know. Yeah, we might as well. Why not? Oh, I'm going to have to go out the older Zen pick out before I go swimming in the line. I don't want that. Oh. Now you're putting too much pressure on yourself. Am I? Yeah, you are. You definitely are. Oh, I love that. Are you quite body confident you two? You both look great. We're all right. I embrace how I am. I'm not trying to Obviously we're men now, we're not like these teen singers. I've got a bit of growl about me, you know, I'm just like,
Starting point is 00:25:41 grow, you know. The thing is, a lot of people like... Well, I'm not just going around to be all like, oh no, wow. Because a lot of people in it's where, like, a lot of people want to photograph them. Like, you don't have to have beer, they almost think, like, remember what they used to look like, or they tried to do as a negative that you're growing up. And I feel like me and John, people have seen us in all angles from being on Big Brother.
Starting point is 00:25:58 We're like fucking spirits being compared to our 17-year-old version of ourselves. Do you think there is an element if you're not allowed to grow up? Yeah, I think people do have a version of ourselves that, that but I feel like it happens to a lot of X-Factor acts where it's almost like they look so different now or that they're waiting to catch us on a bad day to be like oh it's almost like you looking bad is almost like a negative on a normal day or like when I hurt my ankle I was on my scooter I almost felt like I couldn't be in bad health because it wasn't the typical version of me or like we'd have what do you think John stay there I know but I think it's life and I think it's just
Starting point is 00:26:30 been more open to that and kind of even like I know even like new music or I don't think we're going to be is what people predicted to bring it out or go about it if that makes sense or when you're I don't mind being low key I think on TikTok even recently the ones that pop off or the ones where you roll out of bed and you're feeling you're worse and you said oh I'll make a TikTok I think that's
Starting point is 00:26:48 putting all this pressure and it's always the way everything to be so perfect yeah that's what I find in life I love Jeddra can have a cuddle I do want to get more I love you I don't want to get more do you know how I know Catherine really well so we were at a party Jimmy Carr's party
Starting point is 00:27:04 and I went over to her she hadn't been on the scene that long and Jimmy said yeah yeah my little catam rye yeah Emily Dean
Starting point is 00:27:14 he always me Emily Dean Beauty Queen Emily Dean Beauty Queen so I saw her and I just got such good energy from her and I've never done this ever because it's so random
Starting point is 00:27:25 it's nice when girls give a good energy between her and I think you know I just went up to her and we were chatting and I really liked her and I said I don't really do this
Starting point is 00:27:33 and I know this sounds a bit weird but I'd really like to be your friend. She never, she says like, no one has ever done that to me and Emily Dean walks over and I said, I'd really like to be your friend. Would you like to be my friend? It's given a six year old. I think a lot of people don't do that.
Starting point is 00:27:50 They don't go, with your kids, you'd go to ask them. Especially celebrity things. It's a bit uncool. And she went, yeah, I would like that. And then we'd always laugh. She tells this story all the time and embarrasses me. Even when she doesn't like, my God, she goes, so she went after me.
Starting point is 00:28:02 But you know what? It worked. It just shows reach for the stars, people. Yeah, or take that extra check. Because all they can do is say is no. They won't say no. Although having said that, Greg Davis came on this podcast. I said it to him. Heard nothing.
Starting point is 00:28:17 I said, I really like to be your friend, Greg. Greg Davis. Oh, that makes me feel much better. Do you ever watch Cat Taskmaster? Was that the guy with the white hair? It's not the guy with the white hair. Do you know what I love about you? What the white hair?
Starting point is 00:28:30 Is that any men, and this is great, over the end of the end of the head. of like 40 or 50. You go, is that the guy with the white hair? Is it? I don't see it by everyone. It's the Irish. Yeah, we've seen him before. He's Irish, isn't he?
Starting point is 00:28:40 We wish him well. I don't think he likes us. He's trying to figure it out. He's trying to figure it out. He's not a Gerber fan. I think he had hair envy. I don't know what it was. A lot of the meat's
Starting point is 00:28:48 that they get jealous of our hair. I just know a lot of those comedians have a lot of notions about them and I'm here for the girl comedians as they always doing great. I do like them. I do like them. Don't worry about.
Starting point is 00:28:57 They're all jebrate fan's at the core. Yeah, I think we'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Well, guess who is also. Jimmy Carr's amazing. He literally flew us over and lapsed in a bonnet and his car is. If there's some cats, you have a love-hate relationship with them, someday they want a pet the next day they don't. Talking of pets, guys.
Starting point is 00:29:11 Are you, can we talk through this? Because I've been so distracted by the fabulousness of Jedwood. We haven't really properly talked. Your dog is an island at the moment. He's 14 years old. We've had blaze this 2012. It looks about six or a handful years. And what's not a Whippet or Greyhound?
Starting point is 00:29:26 She's a chihuahua. A chihuahua. I got that so. wrong. But we called her Blaze, we didn't realise the Blaze is actually a whiff of weed or something. It's meant to be like a, is that my thing? We thought Blaze is like a sounding like a superhero. We don't do anything. I love that. But what I'm saying is, and we have another dog called Fiji Mouse, who's best bred of Blaze and he's a Chinese crested. And he's a Chinese crested. He's 12. But he grew hair because he lives in Ireland, but he's meant to be a hairless dog.
Starting point is 00:29:48 And who looks after the dog now? Is it your family? Our family and our cousins and they all give us updates and we fly over and we FaceTime. And so like our whole family are dog people. They love, they love animals. But things like our dogs became like our family dogs because when we'd be on tour we'd be in LA or wherever their consistency was our family. So I love that. And it's just, I feel dogs are like the stitching that kept our family together or like keeps you the communication. Because sometimes if there's a fight a dog's like the common ground where you can just start talking about the dog or the dogs had a great day or it's a it's a conversation starter especially with people like socialising as well in parks and it's a different community.
Starting point is 00:30:27 They're the little beating heart, aren't they dogs, I feel. Do you know what I mean? Yeah, definitely. I love that. And also, Ray really cheers me up sometimes. Yeah, put you in a good harmony. It does, sometimes you're a bit down. And then you see Ray, and he looks so ridiculous.
Starting point is 00:30:41 He makes me laugh. And I think that's really good. Or even the blowing in the wing, give you that Nya moment where you hear, sail away. It's like, sail away, sail away. I don't know what it is. Sometimes I look for the love that I have for dogs and people. Do you? And if I don't have, if I don't have the love,
Starting point is 00:30:57 love a half of you that I have for my dog that you're not the one I'm sorry. Oh that's what I think. I 100% agree. You know what I find so good is if you meet someone and their dog likes you, you almost feel like your chosen one because they tell you that they don't like everyone. That's what I think. And it's almost like you're invited over it. Ray is quite selective and he's very team Jedwood.
Starting point is 00:31:17 He's really team Jedward, isn't he? Thank you. So do you think... On the hottest day of the year, basically. He's done really well, but you know what? We've been super sensible because I brought his cool. cooling mat out and we stayed in the shade. Jedwood and I knew I was going to love Jedward the minute they both took the uncomfy scratchy grass so that Ray could have the prime spot on the cooling mat. The most shaded tree obviously Ray made his own decisions and went wherever he wanted he was under dress.
Starting point is 00:31:46 Do you like how he's being carried like an emperor? Yes. I feel you could put him in movies. Yeah. Has he been in anything? I'd have to go to Turkey and get his teeth done. He needs some veneer. sit there and strike a pose. I think it's like dogs now have better health care than you mean. I know. I think more has been spent on our dog vet visits and different things than was ever spent on me and my whole life. Look at my teeth.
Starting point is 00:32:08 They're still just normal. Well, do you. Yeah, but I kind of love that. Yeah, we just, all natural. I heard you're talking to Catherine Ryan about that. We never, we never had Botox. We never had anything. Did you know?
Starting point is 00:32:17 You haven't had surgery? No, we've done. Why do you both look so young? Why do you both look so young? We do facial yoga sometimes. We do like the lymphatic drainage. We do skin care. He does more skin care than me.
Starting point is 00:32:27 I just tried so hard. I just put moisturiser on after the shower. Do you avoid the sun? Yeah, we're never directly all tanning, but... I'm not letting it just take me, but if it's around, fine. You've just got good jeans, maybe. You're lucky. I don't know if it's genes, but we just kind of just like...
Starting point is 00:32:42 I think the most important thing is that you just don't be offended. You're not just making faces and being argumentative. Oh, yeah, that's true. So if you're offended, you can be like this... I have a friend. I'm not going to say who it is, because I'm probably listening. But they used to get really offended and be making all sorts of face. I'm like, you need to chill out.
Starting point is 00:32:56 You're making a lot of faces there. And now they've got Botox recently They don't do that and that's amazing John, shut up People are entitled to get whatever they want to get them No, it is okay but it was just me coming from a good place Because I feel like in life sometimes people don't say The uncomfortable thing but I'll always say what is
Starting point is 00:33:14 And just try to better them Some of these dogs are being walked boys But I'm a bit neurotic about Ray I won't walking when it's over 22 degrees or 20 degrees Because the ground's so hot and you're like little dogs You kind of just have to read it's kind of wing it You think I've done the right thing I'm quite overprotective.
Starting point is 00:33:28 I definitely think you are because some other dogs aren't as intelligent as Raymond. And I feel like when you're wearing flip-clops like you are, you can only get so much of a push of a walk. But sometimes support you need. Some dogs are like in dog head space and other dogs are more sophisticated. Yeah, like recently.
Starting point is 00:33:42 But you have to make sure your dog is on the same wavelength. Yeah, some dogs, they're just pounding their head of the wall, but it's nice and you have a dog that's there with you. Do you think, I think dog is a little bit civilised. Now your dog's really sophisticated. If there was music to go with Ray, it would be like, you know, in a Disney film when they go to the ambassador,
Starting point is 00:33:57 as reception and it goes do do do do do do do and they have a like a little exactly that he's so poor right boys and you go do you know I can't have this way in a long time I've got a bicycle back do you ever go on bikes then probably we do we love to go on a cycle don't we don't we done beat myself I do have my own bike but then you have to figure out where to park it but I did buy that in it randomly for nothing so if it goes missing it's okay I'm not going crazy I'm buying on bikes. But yeah, no, it is nice to get around on bikes, I think. We could do more though, we could do more. I have absolutely
Starting point is 00:34:32 loved meeting you today, Jed. Have we talked about enough stuff? Until next time. Oh, you're everything I hope for and more. I'm going to go for a swim, yeah? We can try, we don't have to get too outdoorsy. Well, you make me swim. Emily, I really like your energy. We should be friends.
Starting point is 00:34:48 Just a breaststroke. I think we should be friends. Yeah, we can own this town. We can go around and have our crackers. And your response? I won't hesitate. Thank you. It's happened already. I'm so happy.
Starting point is 00:35:02 You don't have to ask. I feel like we got the same pizzazz that needed to have a friendship. I love you both. Can we have a group? Help with Ray, Jen. Thanks for embracing us and giving us the chance. Send love to the family.
Starting point is 00:35:13 To express the difference side. I love you, Jedward. Hopefully we could all build a snowman. Oh, Jedward. Give Ray a kissy. Hi, Ray. I feel like Ray should be a... What could she be?
Starting point is 00:35:25 Get some highlights in there. Yes. Give a little Jebred hair. We put his hair in a little Jebber quiff. No, we won't do that because that... We don't have a quiff right now, so... Where are you going to have Jedwood hair? Yes, please.
Starting point is 00:35:37 He has no choice. He's got no choice. Bye, Jedward. We love you. I really hope you enjoyed that episode of Walking the Dog. We'd love it if you subscribed. And do join us next time on Walking the Dog wherever you get your podcasts.
