Hello everybody, my name is Charles Strange. My son was Michael Strange, Philadelphia Guy. Can you hear me now? All right. My son was Michael Strange. He was part of the Elite Navy Seal team. You think these guys, the most elite team in the world, would just fly with anybody? There was no eye in the sky watching this helicopter to go into the Tandine Valley, not to give me no answers. Nobody to be held accountable for the biggest loss in the Afghan war. Joe Biden, down in Delaware, with a half a load on, announced, announced to everybody in the world who killed Bin Laden. From that day, he put a mark on my son's back.

And nobody does nothing here in this country? Come on. We all have to stand together. We all got to fight to fight. You know, this is America. You know, this is what my son's fought for, for our freedom, for our constitution. Somebody's got to be held accountable. Somebody's got to answer for this. You know? They gave me a book.

My name's Charles Strange. I'm the gold star father of petty officer first class Michael Strange killed in action August 6th 2011 along with 29 other brave Americans August 6th 2011 was the biggest loss of life in the Iraq and Afghan war. It was the biggest loss of life in the history of America 22 guys from Dev Group Navy Special Warfare. Me and my wife and other Gold Star families been asking questions about what happened. 93 days after the Bin Laden raid. So we feel that there's so many unanswered questions.

We've been fighting Washington, D.C., the government, and the senators, and the congressmen, and asking questions about what happened. The briefing, August 6th, you know, you know, you lose, bury your child, you lose your mind, and you're not supposed to bury your children and it was it was not the guys that knocked on the door to restream three men from the military and they told us they didn't know what happened yeah that you said they put they like bring young guns to you and just say like they don't know they can't answer any questions and they're out right they're called Kako's casualty

assistance and they never knocked on the door before. Really? Yes. Oh they were nubes. Everybody gets nubes. Okay. Yeah. Everybody gets a new person. I would say 95% of the time it's somebody that never knocked on the door. From what we know, talking to at least a thousand Gold Star families, we're at the 10 years. So what what, like, what like upbringing wise, what was Michael's upbringing with growing up in Philly and you guys like what were you guys like growing up? We grew up in, Michael grew up in Wistonoming, Mayfair section of Philadelphia. Early age, Michael was a hustler, he delivered newspapers, seventh and eighth grade, make that money. He went to St. Bart's Catholic school on Harvest Avenue

Always tried to stay fit You know the neighborhood we lived in row homes in Philadelphia, you know to be 40 kids out there playing football He played for baseball to Mayfair Shamrocks He played football for Wisnoonoming Pound football. He was determined at an early age, whatever he put his mind to. Did you know he was like a genius? We knew and he went to public school, he went to Lawton. He went to Lawton for four years on Banner Street in Philadelphia.

And they picked it up there To go to get them tested and They took us down the masterman in Philadelphia, which is one of the in the country and They mentioned him going to masterman, but it was in Center City, Philadelphia and and a bus or train and everything else. And he didn't want to go. He went to stay with his buddies, you know, in the neighborhood that he grew up with, you

know, who are still friends and, you know, I think that says a lot about Michael. And uh and that you could tell you know the way the guy Rob lit up and all that. And I go, did Michael get naked? He goes, yeah, how do you know?

And my grandfather and another gentleman ended up tracking out different pharmacies and

then found them and locked them up. And then they gave him $1,000 each back then and another bonus. And yeah, that was one of the grandpops big bust. And if you're going to Harley Davison's and, um, Bucks County, on the second floor is a giant wall picture of about 200 Philadelphia police sitting on motorcycles. Yeah. He's the one standing in the middle. Yeah. Long line of heroes.

Yes. So what made him want to go into like the Navy or was he like I'm going to, was this just like an in and out thing or what did he want to do it? Well, why was a senior in North, he didn't want to go to college? I feel that. He fell asleep during the SATs. Because he's hung over. One of my niece's friends was sent, yeah, this kid Mike Strange, he slept doing the whole SAT test.

He knew he was going in, he talked to me about it. I said, no, Mike, you're not going into the military. There's a war going on. What year was that? Oh four? Okay. And, uh, he said he said dad I joined the Navy and I said all right, all right gave me that a boy, paddle in the back. I'll never forget you know the day they came to get him on Algart Street. There was you know 50, 60 of his buddies and friends and neighbors and the recruiter was there and uh, there's a picture of that in the book. And he was like, oh, here we go. And the guy took him up to Fort Dix and then he went over to Chicago for boot camp.

Flew out to boot camp and, uh, you know, he took off from Mary, from Mary, went to Pensacola Florida. And, um, he was a a the crypt crypt crypt crypt crypt crypt crypt crypt crypt crypt crypt crypt, he took off from Mary. From Mary, went to Pensacola, Florida, and he was a cryptologist. He was a code breaker. Did he test into that or like how did he get involved with doing the cryptology? Yeah, his test for getting into the Navy, scored high. Okay, he stayed awake for that one. Like what was the test? Now, he didn't go into detail. So you're there for two weeks. No paperwork, no books, no chalkboard. The guy just talks. And then they told him, whoever finishes first in the test, gets to pick to go anywhere you want in the Navy. Yeah. So Michael wanted to be in Virginia or somewhere in Maryland, you know, so he can come home on the weekends, see his family and his buddies.

And he called me up and he says, Dad, they lied to me. I said, well, I'm thinking, I knew it, I knew it. I knew it. They better not be sending them over there. And I said, what happened? Yeah, it's the shit. It's like, he said, God said, this is paradise dad and he really took off in Hawaii. He rose through the ranks. He became an E6 in less than four years, which is like unheard of. He became a team leader with the cryptos and some other people in the military. I guess his third year he calls me up and he said, dad, the Navy SEALs been picking me up at my house and we've been doing training and running dad. He says, up three floors, down three floors, up three floors, down three floors.

To the ocean, swim to the buoy, come back, back out to the buoy come back back out to the buoy and he goes finally the guy's phone rang dad he said we take a break and we go into the gym he said dad everybody was wearing black I was wearing blow he goes they were listening to head banging music they're doing Brazilian Jigitsu and lifting weights and that da da da da and he goes And then they all surrounded me and They wanted me to go to dev group and in Virginia dad so cool and I said I don't want to do 30 years. He goes I talked to a couple of these men and

They said look you can do 12. You can do 14, you can do 10, but you know, he said, what do you think? I said, Mike, you said four and you're going to get out. You know what I mean? Now you got the clearance, you got that, you know. And he talked about nursing and different things he would get into in life. And so he took it and he was 21 years old and he bought a, they gave him a lot of money. He bought almost a $300,000 single home in Virginia Beach by, which was at one point, you know, a secret base. Yeah. And he had a beeper. And he had to be like 15 minutes

from the secret base and because people were trying to kill us here in America. Yeah. And we went. So he uh. Yeah, well, I was why he was in Hawaii and the training and all. There was a. He'd walk into a, you know, this office where. he. Uh, you know, this. He said good morning and they would just shake their head out him, not talk to him. Yeah. You know, you're just a sailor. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And they had this thing that, between between between between between between between between between between between between between between between between between between between between the competition that, between the competition that, between, between the competition that, thing that between competition between the Marines, Army, Navy, it was like a triathlon. And nobody beat the record in 20 years and Michael beat the record.

It was, it was like an eight mile run. You jump into a pool, 400 meters swim, then you go through an obstacle course, and then you do something else, and Michael beat the time by a minute and 36 seconds. What? That's a lot. And you didn't have his name up in Hawaii there. And so the next day he walks into the office and the three and four star eyebrows go, Michael, take a day off, you want a cigar?

You don't have to come in. What are you doing today? They were so happy, yeah, yeah. They, yeah. There you. The one would ignore him was the one keeping the record. Oh, okay. I got you. So he, yeah, so he was really taking off in the Navy. He loved it. You know, you got some good friends, you know,

Pat Mudge, he still stays in toucest with us for the other guys. Not many. And that's when, and he was 21, and then that's when he went to Virginia Beach to, bought the home and joined Seal Team 6, the Gold Squad, Dev Group. He was not a seal, he didn't go through buds and all that, but then he had to go through another training to make it to 6. To make it to Seal Team 6, you know, you hear a lot of these, you know, God bless everybody, the se, but less than 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 the, the, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th-a, th-s, th-s, thi, he thi, he was thi, he was, he was, he was, he was, he was, he was, he was, he was, he was, he was, he was, he was, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he........... And he's like, oh, I stopped at the gym. And the next day, and he'd be always changing his clothes. And Michael's favorite place to eat was P.F Changs.
