Starting point is 00:00:00 hello welcome to war with a mate with me james me andy and a third person who isn't me andy or an imaginary person who we've manifested from the deserts of our mind it's actually cam of cam sandwich youtube channel cam how the devil are you doing well how's it going dudes it's going well it's going well we've we've we've roped you into having a look at the game and you've been generous enough to do so and i suppose yeah what what have you made of that because we've just spent a little time looking over it. Yeah, you showed me the board and the spreadsheets that you had
Starting point is 00:01:01 all organized for this nonsense, and I've gotta say, I do not envy your position at all. It looks horrible. Yeah, I'm glad that was very clear and transparent because my fear was that we were gonna show you and you were gonna look at it and go,
Starting point is 00:01:17 these guys are complaining about nothing. It's fine. This game looks great! This game is fantastic! Yeah, this game is a nightmare. You've seen that fully fledged today. And I, to be fair, I was tempted to add additional pieces on the board to make it look worse. I was thinking of embellishing it and just making up lies. But I thought, you know what, we'll go with the raw product.
Starting point is 00:01:38 And turns out, yes, it is bad. I think the vast empty space at the bottom of the board was just as scary just due to the whole terror of what that could mean. Well, that's it. It's very much down to, you know, what we choose to do with it. we can we could do whatever we want with that we can move all of our planes down there all of our food um it would be counterproductive but you know we're allowed to sky's the game yeah we bought it it's ours to play with and do what we want so we we first came across your stuff cam when we we decided to do this so we we became aware of the game we immediately looked up some information
Starting point is 00:02:18 about the game and the first thing we came across was your your video that you did about the campaign for north africa which was a a really good and succinct summary of how awful it was and for some reason we thought they took us out the wrong way let's do this so uh i guess how did how did you come across the campaign for north africa do you remember when you first heard about it yeah um i was just looking up stuff because at that point during the channel i was it was at hodgepodge of whatever i found interesting at the moment i just draw a few pictures and throw it up on there because nobody was watching and i would just remember looking up worst movies and then i just decided worst or longest movies and then i decided to look up longest board games and i was
Starting point is 00:03:03 expecting something to take like maybe a month maybe along those lines something reasonable and i found a description of one that would take 20 years if you played it every other saturday so i immediately locked onto that and told my buddy, Cooper, that I'm making a video on this, because this is ridiculous. I mean, it's a ridiculous game and the fact that, yeah,
Starting point is 00:03:28 we heard about the length of it and we thought, yeah, let's play it. At least you did the sensible thing and essentially you try to warn people off it. You try to give a stark warning by, because that video, it's very transparent that the game's bad and that it takes forever to play it. You weren't careful about it. You weren't hiding it.
Starting point is 00:03:44 You were very clear in what you said. I was very clear, but I'm very glad that you took that message away from it that yes, we need to play this. We did, we did. You know what, I mean, I hate I hate to put this on you. But if anything, it's sort of your fault that we're playing it. I don't know if if you want to sort of, I don't know, not this isn't a shakedown, so to speak, but I do feel like you owe us compensation. I will take the full brunt of the blame for this, but I refuse to apologize. Oh, wow, okay, that's... it's brave. It's brave. It's not subtle, but it's brave. You can at least pay for the therapy. This is 100% my fault. I'll provide my own therapy. I'll give you another game you can play once you're done with this one.
Starting point is 00:04:34 Okay, I wouldn't mind that. As long as it's a nice game. It better not be Rap Rat. I swear to God. Well, you want to play that as well. I do, I do. You know what, I've got a thing where I'll watch Cam's videos, I'll find a terrible board game, and I'll try and get you to play it with me, Andy. That's the way it works. Please, do not play Rap Rat. We played that, it's horrible. It's unwinnable, you can't win. so so i guess for for out of context for anyone who's not aware um although i think most people listening um became aware of us through you cam so i imagine everybody here already knows but the the recent sort of intervention we had where people had mentioned you a lot to us is because you were doing the worst board game of all time tournament and one of the games within that
Starting point is 00:05:24 tournament was the the campaign for north africa so a lot of people who were listening were leaving comments and sending us messages saying that we should check you out we were already aware of you of course it was your you were the the progenitor to this so we we watched that we got in touch with you um we gave a little bit of background for the campaign because i don't think there's many people out there stupid enough to be playing it but one of the games that were also in that tournament was a game called rap rat and i suppose would you like to give a breakdown of that cam because i was fascinated by this yeah this is a this is a game from the i don't remember when but it is a vhs board game made by an australian company where you roll a die one die full of colors and you
Starting point is 00:06:07 try to gather up puzzle pieces for your cheese and the entire time some demented ridiculous rapping rodent pops up on your vhs screen and just starts dishing out the most absurd punishments you could ever imagine from a board game so often that the game is impossible to win under any means at all you know i feel like that that rat may have been behind the design of the campaign for maybe it's some sort of shadowy cabal of these evil spirits and uh richard berg was actually you know maybe part of this um the spiritual cabal and rap rat i feel like was maybe the guy in charge because i've seen the design for the rat and it's horrible it's abysmal like the scraggly puppet it's nightmare fuel he has been the only board game anything that i have seen that has
Starting point is 00:07:01 gotten a creepy pasta written behind him where he's just an actual demon the rat inside of the game is a demon that starts to haunt you if you play the game it's a it's ridiculous that also doesn't sound like a creepy bastard that sounds like something i believe is just genuinely true no it's definitely real because right after i finished covering the game everything started coming going wrong with the video production process until i moved games were getting delayed to move house to get away from the rush yes i had to escape i like that you you did the sensible thing though that they don't do in movies where in the movies they'll just sort of stick around and they'll go well that was weird but it's
Starting point is 00:07:41 Probably nothing. Or they'll try and get an exorcism, you know, carried out of the house. It's like, no, just move. I can't imagine an exorcism as cheap. Yeah, I had to live with that sucker for like a month simply because I was trying to find a new place. That's the only reason I was still there.
Starting point is 00:07:57 Otherwise I'd have been gone. Oh, Andy, we need to get this game. We need to play Rat Rat. I don't want my house to be infested by a ring-style rat thing. we've already got the board game here you know we've got we've got the campaign for north africa out and and just to reiterate um as as per usual we've got the game out i've had to um sit on the
Starting point is 00:08:21 floor so that we can we can showcase it for cam so i'm i'm doing my back end once again but this time it's a bit different because andy you're recording in your bedroom and i'm recording in your living room yeah i've got a nice desk set up and everything yeah it's quite jarring because i hear the delay of you speaking in the background whenever we're talking um and it's because we yeah we've we've had to do a different audio setup and we're not professionals um we we know that we've got a time limit this time on the the call because when we had guests on previously in our third episode we just ran out of time part way through we've scheduled this one quite well and cam you can you can attest to it we've had a plethora of audio issues on oh absolutely on
Starting point is 00:09:01 on this call so far. It's been just a nightmare. We are falling apart at the seams, is what we're doing. I'd actually be more concerned if we thought everything was working right from the beginning. Yeah, if everything was going swimmingly right from the start, something's wrong.
Starting point is 00:09:17 We've done something horribly wrong. It's good to know that we're just three men who are cursed with various board games. It's nice to speak to someone who's on the other side of the world but still cursed if anything i feel like you've been bearing more curses than we have your your
Starting point is 00:09:38 your board game acumen is a lot more impressive than ours i definitely bring this on myself yeah i mean sort of we but so i suppose in terms of that what what was your because a lot of your stuff is now sort of board game oriented is there any is there any sort of draw about that what are are you a big board game fan in general i was a big uh board game fan since i was little because i just play them at my grandma's house and they're they're fun who would have known but i really only started switching the channel towards board game content after the north africa video uh a year and a half after i uploaded it it was one of my worst performing videos for a year and a half it had 50 views on it and then just randomly it just took it just took off i
Starting point is 00:10:24 was in the middle of paving just in the midday and i look at my phone and there's like a thousand new comments what the heck is going on here that's insane because it's now got i'm sure it's in the millions now isn't it no it's about 700 000 but it is by far still the most viewed video on the channel i don't know i don't know why people just keep jumping on board i think there is something about the scale of the game and the fact like no one's ever finished it that like draws people to it because in the worst board game thing as well
Starting point is 00:11:01 I saw a lot of comments being like it's not bad, it's just long and I think that's incorrect, it's not an art piece I had to bring I'm so glad you sent that email when you did because I had to bring you guys on, everyone
Starting point is 00:11:16 was talking about how beautiful the game is, it's such a majestic art piece it's barely even like a bad board game it's more just an art project and i had to bring you guys in to say no that you have to play through this this is a game that you have to endure and you provided the perspective that going through this is a nightmare i mean yeah i suppose what i would say to these people who who think it's a an art piece um is is probably how dare you it's not it's not artistic it's not beautiful it's not graceful it's clunky it's it takes hours to set up we've had to do a diy project just so we can actually
Starting point is 00:12:00 play it in the physical sense of getting the pieces onto the board and pulling it out it's not an art piece it's you need a you know we were talking about this just before we need a storage unit to put it in, but I don't think anything could be worse than having to get a bus to some storage unit in the middle of nowhere to play this game. And you know what? It would grow mould on it as well, is what would happen in a
Starting point is 00:12:22 storage unit. That would be bad. We have just thought about that, actually. We've got it in the picture frames. Is there any risk of anything like that happening? Mould? Surely not. No. I'll keep an eye on it.
Starting point is 00:12:38 And do what? I guess if it gets mouldy we can stop That's fair You gotta wash it off, you just gotta scrub the mould off And then put it back in there It does complete It does complete The metaphor if the game is also
Starting point is 00:12:54 Slowly killing us in real life That's a good point, yeah We may as well just line the back of it with asbestos Which happens first? You two die before the game finishes Or the game withers away I think this this game might grow mold it might start to rot but it will outlive us
Starting point is 00:13:12 there's no way that we we we can't outlive this game this game's immortal it's it's eternal we're just two we're just two men this thing is an institution it can't be stopped it can't even be i'm not even sure it can be beaten uh that's where that's for you guys to find out over the next 40 years well actually what I might do because I have actually marked my my sort of air
Starting point is 00:13:43 to play so Cam maybe I'll mark you maybe I'll draft you instead if I die you're going to be cursed with this I feel like that's only fair I have to take up the mantle yeah you can move over to the UK I have to move to the UK yeah you're going to have to it's that or you can
Starting point is 00:14:01 commute I mean take a boat or Andy you can relocate yeah I mean there's always an option there I like I liked the option that you put forward we'd alternate
Starting point is 00:14:19 so I'd go there the first time you'd come here the second time we'd just go back and forth ship ship the game with the game imagine trying to get this game through customs especially at the moment with all of its magnets that are attached. There's no way this bad
Starting point is 00:14:36 boy's getting through those scanners. Also, why do you have like comprehensive geographical data for North Africa with all these military terms on it? Like, what are you planning? We're planning full-scale war in the most
Starting point is 00:14:52 granular, detailed sense possible so I guess, yeah, this doesn't look bad We're going to have to develop a full smuggling operation just to alternate turns so as as anyone listening may have guessed we've we've not played the game today this is this is our time off this is our leisure time we've we've brought the game out we've looked at it we've talked about it and if anything that's even worse that's much more arduous than playing the damn
Starting point is 00:15:17 thing is talking about it and not getting any real progress into it but it i'm sorry i'm just looking over at it, and the massive pile of pieces that we've got is just looming over because we've, yeah, the magnets I'm worried that they're going to lose their magnetic strength before we finish the game, and we might have to
Starting point is 00:15:38 replace all the magnets Well yeah, one of our friends did tell us magnets have like a half-life of two years so, unless we really get a hurry on this, it's going to be three or four magnet replacement sessions That's true that's that
Starting point is 00:15:53 I'm really hoping that the magnets just reverse polarity and start floating the pieces just start levitating at some point you wake up oh it really is haunted this feels like the start of a Scooby-Doo episode where
Starting point is 00:16:14 the guy who's behind it all isn't an actual ghost he's just some sort of caretaker in an old building but he's using magnets to make ghosts look real He's trying to scare you off so he can steal your copy of North Africa. He can have it. He can just have it.
Starting point is 00:16:28 He doesn't want to pay the resale prices. It's okay, I'll pay him. I'll pay him. That's fine. What does he want for it? I'll give him it. You can have Andy as well. Oh, I'm a package steal, am I? Yeah, well, you need someone to play it with. You can't just have it as a collector's item.
Starting point is 00:16:45 Oh, God, I'm trapped. I come with the game now. I'm bound to the game. Well, when we bought it, we were am i you better not be better bloody not be and he's been the rapper at this whole
Starting point is 00:17:00 time you were the one delaying my packages i'm sorry the rat delayed your packages oh yeah it was a whole ordeal so um it was oh good lord so i covered the rap
Starting point is 00:17:16 video and then i was like okay we're gonna do celebrity board games themed board games this is the wildest story to ever come from the channel so i order them or no i just cover them but then i go to the uh one of the premier ones i wanted to cover was the donald trump board game because that's freaking funny and so i order that one because normally i just look at all the reviews get a feel for the game get an idea of how the strategy works look through the game online because if i bought all of these it would cost me hundreds of thousands
Starting point is 00:17:48 of dollars in resale but i had to buy the trump game because the reviews were all over the place tens and ones abound so i had no idea if the game was any good or not so i order that the united states postal service gets it to me a week after it was supposed to arrive so i have to delay the entire video and segment that into its own video and so on top of that the audio for the video broke so I had to spend an extra day just fixing the audio for the video itself thanks again for the
Starting point is 00:18:25 rat and so when I finally get that video put together I am halfway through processing the gosh darn thing that has been delayed several times by now and I get a message from my friend saying that someone just shot the man at his
Starting point is 00:18:40 rally in Pennsylvania as I'm uploading the gosh dang video that happened the day that i was uploading it so i have to make sure he's not dead so the rat the rat may have been behind the attempted assassination of donald trump Yes! Just to screw with me! That's so, that's very on-brand for the rat, that he would try to kill a presidential candidate just to
Starting point is 00:19:21 delay a YouTube video. That sounds very on-brand, because the rat throws out punishments, as we know, and punishments that are so severe and unfair. That sounds about right. It's unbelievable. It's unbelievable. I've never been, that's the worst I've ever felt
Starting point is 00:19:37 at one general point in time. My heart sank. that's such a wild thing to be tied together it's one of those sort of kevin big and seven degrees thing it's somebody creates a vhs board game of a talking rat and then in the future a billionaire presidential candidate is nearly assassinated it's crazy how that works happens every time i feel like the game ended up being good yeah actually the donald trump game is actually really good surprisingly that's not what i would have expected no i was not expecting that either
Starting point is 00:20:17 so what is the what's the structure of the game how does how does the donald trump board game so what you do is you aim to buy up uh real estate it's a real estate type game so you go around in a circle and the whole mechanic is when you land on an um the big draw is that money is added to the properties uh throughout the game but they're designed in a way to be banks so you slide cash in which has his face on it of course all the money is adorned with the dawn and you slide it into the bank so the amount of money in a property is secret at any point in time so when those properties get auctioned off you have to spend money on auctions to try to get them you don't know if you're over bidding or under bidding because you don't know how much the
Starting point is 00:21:02 property is worth so it's a real big mystery and you got to try and keep there's cards that you can add that increase the value if you own a certain property you can add cash to your bank there's a there's a you're fired card because it's based on the apprentice when he was on that show so you can just play that and immediately knock someone out of the bidding entirely and then the best card is the dawn card which just if you're fired you can get back into the game there's only four of them in the game and i am so mad that they had the opportunity and did not decide to call it the trump card it was right there oh come on they definitely could have done that such a missed opportunity i do like that the game does seem to have captured quite delicately the idea
Starting point is 00:21:50 of the housing market being unpredictable and not really knowing if it's an investment it actually does sound like an improvement to monopoly like i like those additions It is really good. The auction is back and forth because you don't know if you bid, if you're going to get fired or not. And the amount of money that all the players have is also secret. So the other players don't know how much money you have. So you could be bidding them up for crazy and you might just not be able to keep up. but the fact that it's meant to be based around the apprentice but by the sounds of it is also just a real estate purchase game it sounds like they don't really know what they were doing they just wanted donald trump to be involved so they were like and then i don't know put a put a your fire card in like i guess that's also there the fact that there's not a trump card means that this was not as well thought out as it might seem it's just off the bat yeah clearly some people
Starting point is 00:22:46 have missed the mark there because i mean by god a trump card in that i just there's something about wordplay that makes me think that someone's a genius and if they had wordplay and puns in that i would have thought so much more of them but the fact they've missed that i just think this is cobbled together by if i probably ai generated 2001 it's a very primitive ai very right after the crash somebody made an ai model actually come to think of it 2001 so that was before the the financial crash in 2008 so they really had their their finger on the pulse of the housing market yeah they tried to warn us we didn't listen they tried to warn us through the donald trump board game but none of us paid attention i was too busy playing on my gamecube at the time
Starting point is 00:23:36 I should have known Oh god I love the Gamecube I was having this conversation the other day About the fact that the Gamecube Might be one of the best consoles of all time It's compact, it's easy And there were some great exclusives So I'm very glad
Starting point is 00:23:50 What's your favourite Gamecube game? Mine might be the Resident Evil remake The original Resident Evil remake That is a fantastic game Fantastic remake i think mine's gotta be wind waker it's sort of the basic answer but it's it's just such a great game but you know my thoughts on zelda and i hope this doesn't offend you cam i don't like i don't like zelda i'm not sure what your thoughts are on the zelda verse i've played one zelda game and it
Starting point is 00:24:22 was the free one on the nintendo dsi so i don't have too much i don't have two i think it's four swords of seasons or something so i don't have too much connection to the zelda franchise oh awesome that means that we can both be on the side of not being on andy's side yeah that sounds great the heck andy wind waker are you serious come on yeah that's one of the worst ones goodness i'm gonna reassess the art super monkey ball the yeah that's so quick there you go that's a good one we can all agree on that one that's that was funny i get so mad at monkey ball my favorite one is a double dash my favorite mario yeah that's a great one i've never played that never played that one well i have a i have a favorite good game and then of course i have a favorite bad
Starting point is 00:25:08 game as well for the game queue uh it's sort of like a board game mary-kate and ashley sweet 16 licensed drive okay that's a very niche choice it is a it is a mario party clone based around mary-kate and ashley's sweet 16 birthday and it is quite possibly one of the worst games i've ever played i mean i'll be honest that doesn't shock me that does not sound like a game that screams quality that's really bizarre so i yeah so i take it it is just yeah mario sort of party game um with presumably the theme of because that was a program wasn't it mary-kate and ashley or were they just in yeah they were the together they were the two actors they were the twin sisters i think so they're just in a bunch of movies together they were the uh full house
Starting point is 00:25:59 people i think yes that's because they're the olsens as well they are the they're siblings of um scarlet witch in the mcu really yeah because she's an olsen she's um elizabeth olsen i want to say i did not know that yeah yeah um i might be wrong i might be getting my actresses mixed up here so i might just be telling you a lie i'm gonna be sued for slander for attaching her to this game she's in the game oh maybe there is a cameo in there oh wow that could really shoot at the value it's actually part of the mcu technically elizabeth olsen makes a cameo in the campaign for north africa she's in the rules you just have to find her uh don't tell me that because i'll be spending all day looking for it because i believe you know well you saw you saw
Starting point is 00:26:48 my addenda i am trying to patch all of the the gaps in the the rules um anything that we pick that's not in there already yeah i'm making sure that it's out there for the world i love that not only do the rules have some issues but the addenda fixing the rules are also wrong in a couple such areas that's just great to see yeah it's it's just layers upon layers of incorrect information it's like solving a rubik's cube but some of the pieces aren't there and some of the sides are just black instead of part of the other color so you don't know where it's meant to go i don't i don't like stellar like the game stellar title an art piece if you will no no beautiful beautiful mosaic that you can display don't turn on us now is the rat there
Starting point is 00:27:38 has he got a gun to your head is that what's going on here the rat finds me again i'm gonna have to move again i've been the right guy he'll be heading through this call i'm spreading it to you oh it can spread the audio i think that's bad in all seriousness i think that your guys's appearance on that tournament is why the the campaign for north africa ended up making it as far as it did because it was starting to really that art argument was starting to really take hold in those last couple of rounds so when they finally got you can see there's an uptick in the performance of the game after you guys appear oh good i'm happy we could assess people's expectations of what it actually is
Starting point is 00:28:27 i had such conflicted feelings about its placement in that tournament because part of me was thinking oh well you know i've got a personal connection to this game you know i want this one to win but then i was also like well no that's stockholm syndrome why do i feel personally connected to the game i didn't make it it's also my game why would you feel good that the thing you're doing is the worst of its kind ever exactly i felt sort of weirdly motivated but it wasn't motivation to go sort of yeah everyone needs to know this is the worst game it was like i want my guy to win and that's not the mentality i should have about this you just you just you get personally attached to one of the games you just want to see it go far exactly i saw north africa going the distance
Starting point is 00:29:11 but it just it fell short it felt but it was right there it was it got way closer than i thought it would and because it was it was breaky that that one in the end yes the the which is the key managed to beat it out right at the end there which i i can see i can definitely see arguments for both sides i did enjoy the thematic battle of the longest game versus the shortest game for that one yeah i i can't think of two games that are further apart in terms of what they're trying to do to the players because one of them is essentially you just get a piece of plastic and oh game's over that's it twist the key once it breaks forever you're done you can't play it anymore what a game is you could play that game i think maybe maybe 14 15 times just in the time
Starting point is 00:30:03 it takes to set up the campaign for north africa it's insane just putting it out on the table just ridiculous personally i'm gonna have to give the context for this um so we were we were we were playing dungeons and dragons just before this we've taken a bit of a break in between dungeons and dragons to to record this this this bit with you cam and so our other friend is here as well um and uh he's he's just sat silently on the sofa watching videos had to listen to all this happen yeah so he's just yeah because after this we're going to resume some dungeons and dragons but i've just looked over and i know for a fact he's watching jurassic park which is Which is a staple of what our friend does
Starting point is 00:30:53 In a lot of situations Whether it's parties Or days out You'll just occasionally start watching Jurassic Park I know for a fact he's watching it now So yeah That just tickles me You can definitely pick a worse option for sure
Starting point is 00:31:10 That's a good one to pick Yeah We don't always have him here Silently listening while we record by the way although that's that's a fun that's a fun theory to to get people working off that there's always a silent third person mystery listener who's watching jurassic park yeah yeah the mystery individual watching um it could be any jurassic park as well that's the fun thing it could be any of them oh yeah which one is i think i think it's uh jurassic world 2 is what
Starting point is 00:31:40 he's tuning into that's part of the series yeah fallen kingdom the one with the auction i've not actually seen any of the jurassic worlds i've only seen jurassic parks uh chris pratt is in them and i i like him so that's about the extent of entertainment that i can get from there the first one was not a very enthusiastic endorsement now you really felt like you filled that one in the first one has a really big sea dinosaur that's really cool and that i can give it it was a that's a really cool part and that's about it i mean what you've done there is you've you've sold me on going to the actual park as a location but when it comes to watching the film i'm not i'm not quite there yet no you definitely want to go to the park to see the big
Starting point is 00:32:28 the big water dinosaur that's pretty much the what you'd want to do with jurassic world what i would do is i would go to the park as soon as it opens i would pay the premium prices to get there as soon as it opens because things tend to go bad uh quite far into the park in the movies so i think if i go there on opening day i'll probably be fine um that's that's my thought process behind it so yeah but if it's on a holiday don't go on a holiday i think that's what happened in the first one they were over capacity oh right actually oh that's made me reassess that maybe i won't go on opening day i'll go um a few i'll go during sort of off-peak hours um you're sort of looking like a Thursday afternoon.
Starting point is 00:33:08 I'll go then. Yeah, because then there's not a lot of people, so a disaster at that point wouldn't make any sense at all. There's nobody to chomp on. Yeah, it wouldn't be cinematic. And as we know, disasters only happen at the worst time possible. So it means that we're fine.
Starting point is 00:33:24 Disasters have a... They're like a bloodhound. They can smell it. They know when there's a lot of people around. Right for the taking. As long as you go during an off day, you're fine. Go see some dinos, have some popcorn. i'll look at a season pass in that case i'll just buy a sort of one-off ticket yeah i feel like the season pass would be wasted we have to close down less than a year in
Starting point is 00:33:45 i don't know i'm not sure if closed down is the correct term when the dinosaurs get out if anything it's it's very much still going it's just their place now the dinosaurs kind of own it you have to pay the dinosaurs they're manning the ticket booth well the the original script for the fourth jurassic park was where there were um sort of human dinosaur hybrids that were mercenaries that were working in the i think it was a new york and that was the actual original script for the fourth jurassic park we might have lost the plot somewhere along the way yeah i'm not really sure what because it's spielberg isn't it that does jurassic park i'm not really sure what drove him to think that was the next logical step for
Starting point is 00:34:34 jurassic park he locked in on jurassic central park and then just ran with whatever story would allow him to make that happen oh i think you're right and as i said earlier if it's if it's wordplay he's a genius so maybe he should have made that because i love that jurassic central park that is choice i might make that movie in jurassic park sorry central park i've mixed them already. They are now one of us. Film there without permission. I'm sure that's allowed in Jurassic Park.
Starting point is 00:35:09 I'm not sure about Central Park. Without permission. Yeah. I don't think Jurassic Park should happen. I don't know about you guys. I'm a big fan. I mean, let nature take its course. Yeah, life finds a way.
Starting point is 00:35:24 I'd like to see some dinosaurs. The consequent they have to? The people that built it need to live by the consequences of their actions and they'll learn from their mistakes. We'll make a very tough lesson. We'll make a bigger, better Jurassic Park
Starting point is 00:35:40 just off of the mistakes, the lessons we've learned from the first one. But that happened again in Jurassic World. Yeah, I think actually I just described the plot of Jurassic World. They didn't learn anything.
Starting point is 00:35:56 They never learn. There's going to be a new trilogy coming out with Scarlett Johansson. they still haven't learned they don't know anything we don't know anything well they've done Jurassic World so all that's left is space now we're just
Starting point is 00:36:12 I think I'd like to see a bunch of raptors getting loose on an orbital we're just doing Sharknado at this point is where we're getting here they've already gone to space I mean to be fair I think dinosaurs in space is really
Starting point is 00:36:30 it's the way for them to get revenge on the asteroid that's a good point that asteroid came down, spoiled everything for the dinosaurs, absolutely ruined it so I think we make some dinosaurs, we send them back up there find out where it came from
Starting point is 00:36:47 and we make things right plus, dinosaurs in space just slap that on the poster, you're making money the cash is rolling in that's a good point Andy, we should probably pivot the podcast to do that instead. Not sure if you've ever thought about advertising space trips for dinosaurs.
Starting point is 00:37:04 I've thought about it a lot. I just never thought I'd get the chance in real life. But I'm excited about this. Actually, come to think of it, this feels like a rat scheme. It's another one of his curses. We fell for it again! No! It's going to trick us into going into space where we can't breathe, of course.
Starting point is 00:37:19 So, that'll get us. Just a little rat sliding the bolts off the dinosaur cage. and he can breathe in space definitely because he's like a puppet yeah he's a demon demons and puppets are kind of the same thing really yeah so cam we were um we were talking to you earlier and uh we were thinking that um especially now that we've realized there is the presence of a demon amongst us there's probably only one way for the three of us to all come
Starting point is 00:37:49 together and make sure we're unified which is probably to find some common ground and now for something nicer a little oasis in the wall it's time for some common ground i'm trying to intro the common ground I'm recording it maybe yeah of course I'm excited for this
Starting point is 00:38:20 so Kam you said that you have a bit of an idea for a common ground segment is that the case? I have something that I very strongly believe in that um i believe we could probably find some common ground on yeah all right okay let's let's hear it then let's let's hear your common ground i think we need to just
Starting point is 00:38:41 get rid of roundabouts altogether okay i like this just as a concept oriented i i cannot stand what's your motivation roundabouts are just very pretentious in the way that they just guide the traffic around you don't ever have to stop just slow down a little bit and get in the big old circle and drive around for a little bit and then just move it's it's just a little too um upper crust of me when we could just be stopping at a nice stoplight and letting people go here and there well one thing that does give a bit of a bit of credence to this is the fact that when people describe things as doing something in a roundabout way, it's never
Starting point is 00:39:28 positive. It's always, you know, oh, well, someone's done something in a very convoluted manner. They've went the roundabout way. You've got to fart around in circles for a while, and you just screw off for a good minute or two, and then just eventually you'll get around to going
Starting point is 00:39:44 back to normal traffic. That's just, it just doesn't work. So you're replacing them all with four-way stops? no so it's gonna be we've got i've got an excellent idea here so we're gonna replace the roundabout with a square design a square about and in each corner there's a stop sign so this way you get you get to that nice stop where you get to wave to the driver on say ah you go ahead and you get that human connection but at the same time you don't have the electricity
Starting point is 00:40:15 cost of the four-way stop light, which is currently doing a real big number on our energy levels. You know what? I'm actually struggling to find something sarcastic to say about that. That just sounds like a genuinely good idea.
Starting point is 00:40:33 I suppose the only thing I can think of is maybe more road traffic accidents, because the fact it's square, you have to stop at the stop sign every time, and it's all based on human decency for the next person to move on. I could see that leading to some road rage oh absolutely but this way you get that uh you get that rage out of you
Starting point is 00:40:50 before you get to like your destination or your work or anything so when you arrive you're all all of the negative energy is put out and you can have a nice conversation with your boss or something it'll be great oh see i always thought road rage was contained entirely to the car and that when you leave it just sort of dissipates and no longer exists but so no it just drives what was that do you do you drive uh yeah i drive quite a bit actually um i like to go between where i am now and back to my home which is a 12 hour drive so i make that trip a couple every other month ish but otherwise when you i drive everywhere you have road rage do you so you let out road rage when you arrive at the destination so mainly what i do is i let it bottle up inside
Starting point is 00:41:37 of me, just for over a period of time, and then eventually, it reaches a boiling point where I just start punching the center console for a little bit, and then it's all gone. That's incredibly unhealthy. For both, I guess, your
Starting point is 00:41:53 hands, your center console, I guess maybe people around you, this sounds like you really do need this roundabout thing. It's effective though. I have to rely on this until we get these squareabouts put in, and then it's all good to go you hear that roundabout manufacturers this is an active threat there is a man coming
Starting point is 00:42:14 for coming for you he's angry i'm sick of your circles you've had it too good for too long we're getting a nice square design out there i think i also like that it was it was pitched as uh roundabouts are too fancy and like up themselves well this is a worker's revolution for the square about well yeah because they have no corners what kind of what kind of self-respecting roadway doesn't have a corner all right look i've worked i've worked in the asphalt industry paving circles is horrible it's awful because that sucker is square so if i can just cut it off at a nice square angle it's gonna make everything better for everyone else god wow yeah this this sounds like you've actually got a lot of expertise in this area you know what
Starting point is 00:43:00 you're talking about you know how it makes you angry you know how to fix it honestly i think your talents are being wasted by talking to us about a board game that realistically we hate playing when you could be out there writing the wrongs of the right angling the wrongs if you allow me to put in a poem which makes me a genius and fixing roundabouts yes that's clearly your calling i'm gonna get this stuff put in we're gonna we're have a nice square day and all it's going to do is cause the amount of auto-deaths to skyrocket, but that's a sacrifice that I'm willing to make.
Starting point is 00:43:33 Yeah, I mean, death's fine. Death happens, and it just sort of peters out eventually. It doesn't come with you when you die. When the rock gets you, death doesn't follow you. And it's certainly a lot the most destructive of our common ground ideas. So death-toll-wise, you're fine.
Starting point is 00:43:51 I did very much like the one where we're just playing an active prank on the rest of history through confusing a large quantity of confusing stone monuments. Yeah, that is a particularly cruel move to just curse future generations.
Starting point is 00:44:09 That seems unnecessary, but this one's productive. My plan, we get rid, we all feel the brunt immediately. You're just putting off the problem until later. Yeah, until it's not my problem. I think that's probably this is this is perhaps the most productive and easy to agree with common ground
Starting point is 00:44:29 that we've ever had so that was i feel i feel refreshed i think the the sad thing is of course people are going to listen to this and then find that all three of us have been killed in some sort of paranormal incident with the rat so this is really our last hurrah he is gonna kill us at roundabout i forgot he's the major shareholder of big roundabout i was so done for it's like when he sees it going around that board that's uh that's that's what gets him going that's that's what gets him off uh he's a can't enjoy it he he does he's sick he's a demon he's sick i've seen the way that he moves in that gosh dang video cassette tape he's enjoying every second of torment that he's putting you through that is a monster
Starting point is 00:45:19 a horrible little perverted puppet i just gave him a quick search and on the villain wiki his type of villain is demonic torture and his goals are to torture as many people as possible so he's like pinhead from the hellraiser movies pretty much but scarier well i i think um more than anything today has been a cautionary tale about a a demonic rat um i guess the board game's also bad but i think more than anything we're gonna have to pivot our direction here so that this podcast is a warning about rat rat i think um once we get the roundabout sorted, we can get more people on site
Starting point is 00:46:13 they'll realize that we are talking sense we are smart people Cam, you cover stuff over in your nation we'll cover things home here in the UK we'll meet in the middle we'll meet in North Africa oh god, no, that's where it is, isn't it? it's all coming together
Starting point is 00:46:29 oh well, this will be interesting when we have an Avengers-style crossover in a few years' time to finally defeat massive boats on the coast of North Africa carrying my American Troops. We'll get him in the desert.
Starting point is 00:46:45 For now, he's just going to stay in the deserts of our mind, but I think, based on the fact that our meeting's also running out of time there, we should probably, I think, call it a day there. I believe so. This time we can actually cut it off without having to cut someone off mid-sentence. It's
Starting point is 00:47:01 brilliant. We orchestrated this one perfectly. Planet of perfection. We are jistical geniuses. Well, Cam, it's been very swell having you on and I'd recommend I think everybody who listens to us
Starting point is 00:47:16 came from you, so if by chance you don't listen to Cam or rather watch his videos Cam Sandwich is the channel and he's got some fantastic board game content which is a lot more broad than ours it covers a lot of stuff instead of just this one
Starting point is 00:47:32 stupid board game so I'd very much recommend having a check out, but you already know that you already watch him That's why I thank you. Yes, we've got fantastic content on horrible games. More abysmal terrible games.
Starting point is 00:47:48 I recommend the rat-rat video, personally. Yes, it's cursed, but it's good fun. What a creature. Well, thanks again for coming on, and to all those that are listening, I guess watch out for the rat and stay subtle, humble, and
Starting point is 00:48:03 brave, because he will find you if you're not. Oh, he's now a folklore tale to scare children Well, goodnight to everyone except the rats Yeah, thanks very much for doing this, Cal Absolutely, thanks for having me on
Starting point is 00:48:20 Alright, farewell everyone Bye-bye Bye-bye Stay subtle, humble, and brave We'll be right back.
