Was I In A Cult? - UFO-Tantric-Doomsday-Alien-Fairy-Angel-Sex Cult - Pt1: "Whatever Floats Your Pleasure Boat"
Episode Date: July 27, 2026Laurien had already been in one cult before she was old enough to understand what a cult was. At 22, she was invited onto a fleet of white "pleasure" yachts traveling the rivers of Europe, not knowin...g the warm, beautiful, angelic fairies gazing deep into her eyes would become her new family. And then she met the 60-year-old Frenchman leading this pleasure cruise who called himself "Yo." Yo claimed he channeled messages from extraterrestrials, and taught that beauty was the path to enlightenment, which was rich coming from a man with a belly, an open blouse and ridiculous facial hair. The rules? No meat, no coffee, no alcohol, and no sex. Unless, of course... it was with him (how original). In PART 1, Laurien takes us inside a French UFO-tantric-doomsday-alien-fairy-angel sex cult. A cult she knows was filled with abuse and coercion, and yet still sees as one of the greatest adventures of her life. ____________________________- FOLLOW LAURIEN Her book, The Golden Shawl → Brave New Books FOLLOW US Instagram → @wasiinacult TikTok → @wasiinacult SUPPORT THE SHOW Join our Patreon! Hey listeners, before we begin, this story contains child sexual abuse, sexual coercion, explicit sexual content, as well as strong language.
So please listen with care and without your children.
I saw a lot of things on cults that it was very negative only.
And then I thought that's not true, not in my case.
It was very positive and that's why it's so difficult to leave.
That's the difficulty of being groomed and it being so nice at the same time, but also so abusive.
If you're listening to our show for the first time, just know you are a click-bait whore, and that is okay, it is fine, but just know who you are.
Know what lane you reside in.
Why? Because nothing grabs your attention like a French UFO tantric.
Doomsday Alien Fairy Angel Sex Cult,
traveling the rivers of Europe on pleasure boats.
Pleasure boats.
He didn't stutter.
And of course you're going to listen to this,
unless you have something else exciting to listen to,
like, I don't know, a Scandinavian Hobbit,
Handjob Viking Reincarnation Cult,
operating out of an abandoned IKEA.
If you are, if you know that cult, call us.
Did you just say Hobbit Handjob?
Threesome Mason just calling out Hobbit Handjobs.
I thought milk jug condoms was going to be it for us.
I thought that was going to be the thing that haunts us.
You're welcome, sister.
Yeah.
Let's move on to the cult in which we just referenced.
Out of Hobbit Hand Job.
Yeah, I immediately regretted saying Hobbit Handjob as soon as I said it.
It had a nice alliteration.
But you keep saying it.
Today's show might have one of the most fun, culty names we've ever had on this show.
At one point, it was called Galactus.
Yeah, it's also been known as Isozen, or Resonance Nouvelle.
Very nicely done.
Resonance Nouveau.
Or is a Ciderrella.
My nickname Ciderrella.
That's your street name, Ciderrella.
You know, from Siderrella.
Salt and Pepper.
Yeah, of course.
Spinderella cut it up one time.
Spinderella cut it up one time.
It's better when salt and pepper does it.
Great song.
Whatever you call it, it is a hell of a story.
It's a hell of a tale.
I'm Lizzie, by the way.
And I'm Tyler Meesam.
And this is...
Was I in a cult?
Or in French, it's known as...
Etee in a sect?
Today's guest is Lorraine.
She lives in Holland, which makes her our second Dutch guest in the past month, Tyler.
Crazy.
What?
International.
We go.
Lorraine and I spoke over several days.
We had a lovely interview, and somewhere along the way, we became friends.
She also sent us...
According to you.
Friend is a one-way street sometimes.
Friendship doesn't need to be two people.
It can be one person believing they're friends with somebody,
and then telling a bunch of people.
with their friends.
Anyways, I would say I'm friends with Lorraine.
So much so that she sent extraordinary photographs of her time in this group.
They're colorful, they're ethereal, they're angelic.
They are, but they're much less the Judeo-Christian angel
that you might be envisioning and more the angel you might find a burning man, I would say.
Right.
We will share some of those pictures on our Instagram for you lovely people to see us.
well. And Lorraine has written a fictionalized account of her experience called the Golden
Shawl. But today, you get her true story about a French UFO tantric, doomsday alien, fairy
angel sex called traveling the rivers of Europe on pleasure boats.
Yeah, I already said it, Tyler. I just feel, it doesn't feel real if I don't say it.
Out loud again and again. Yeah, it just had to convince myself that it actually happened.
And Lorraine's relationship to this experience, well, we'll just say it's not what you would expect.
So with that, please welcome today's fantastic guest, Lorraine.
My name's Lorraine.
I live in Holland.
I'm a mother of two children.
I was in a cult when I was 22 until the age of 25.
I was raised in Amsterdam.
My mother came from a very rich family, so she never worked.
My father came from a very poor family, but he also didn't really work.
So that was a bit weird for me growing up.
I thought I never had to work either growing up.
We were living on a houseboat.
We didn't have a shower, and everything was very primitive.
and my feet were always black at the bottom.
We were very dirty and people in the streets would sometimes tell my mother,
here's a bit of soap, you should wash your children better.
So we looked like we were very poor.
It was unnecessary because her parents were very rich.
And actually she got money deposited on her bank every month.
She wanted to play a poor hippie.
She didn't like where she came from.
I had a good relationship at first with my mother.
but my father was very aggressive.
He used to hit my mother a lot
and he hit my brother and me.
He exploded over nothing.
So it was a difficult childhood.
Lorene's childhood is not a detour from this particular story.
In fact, it's kind of the roadmap
to everything that comes next.
My happy childhood memories were when we visited my grandparents.
So my mother's father,
and mother. They lived in a very big villa near the beach in Holland and I got to dress up in a pretty
dress and pretty shoes and the house was absolutely stunning. Every bedroom had a different name. I was very
happy when we went there and then when we went back to our boat, everything was very poor and horrible.
My mother and father lived with another woman, another girlfriend of my father, till I was about five, six years old.
And my mother was fine with that because she hoped that he would then one day leave her love.
I was not raised with any kind of religion.
My mother is an astrologist, so her belief was very open-minded.
And I was a very sensitive child, and I was also very open-minded.
My mother would always say that the world was full of harsh people and we were special.
Yeah, but I was very insecure about having friends, so I was always giving all my toys away
because I didn't feel very secure about who I was as a person.
So, yeah, I never felt worthy of friendships, really.
I wasn't a great student, not because I wasn't intelligent,
but because I didn't like being inside of a building.
I just always looked outside the window, wanted to go outside.
When we had tests, I just finished them as quickly as possible,
because when you finished the test, you could go outside afterwards.
So my test results were never very good.
When I was six years old, my parents joined Baguan.
Well, my parents joined this because they always believe that enlightenment
is the thing to achieve in life.
and Baguan was, he was the most enlightened person that they could think of.
And I just remember having to wear orange and red clothes and having to wear a wooden necklace
with the photo of Baguan.
Now, this is not part of the French UFO tantric doomsday alien fairy angel sex cult
traveling the rivers of Europe on pleasure boats.
Okay, guys, how many times has Tyler managed to say this been out?
Just start counting.
We're at three.
We're at three in case you lost count.
But no, this is not today's main event cult.
This is a cult within a cult story.
Baguan was a Baguan Shi Rajneesh.
His followers were known as the Rajneeshis.
Yes, these were the people in Orange from the acclaimed Netflix documentary Wild Wild Country.
Oh, the series that started them all, right?
Rajneesh got an A-plus on his term paper titled How to Make Sexual Coercion sound like Enlightenment.
Yes, he did. The thesis was first, declare you're an enlightened master.
Very official title. That requires no credentials, by the way.
And then just preach that morality and marriage and jealousy are all obstacles to spiritual freedom
and call anyone who objects repressed. And voila.
Sexual exploitation becomes spiritual growth. Isn't that nice?
Yeah, it sounds nice on the onset. It does. It sounds like the right thing.
However, yeah, inside his communes, adults were pressured into sex during so-called therapy sessions,
and unfortunately, the children were dangerously left unprotected.
My parents treated us like little adults as well, because everyone was an adult, according to Buck 1, apparently.
We were many adults, so my mother didn't really give us many boundaries.
If I asked if I could eat a lot of candy, my mother would say,
I don't really want you to eat a lot of candy, but you should make your own decisions.
Oddly enough, the Netherlands became one of Rajneesh's strongest European outposts.
So when Lorraine's parents joined around 1980, this wasn't some obscure fringe group.
Rajneesh was the big man on campus, so to speak, within the Dutch alternative spiritual scene.
When they got involved with Bhagwan, I was very young, so I don't really remember a lot.
I just know that the adults just seemed to be crazy, you know.
They were not like responsible adults, as you know them now.
And I just remember one time going to a boat with a lot of people.
Everyone was dancing really crazy.
They had to free themselves and dance and make sounds.
Boguan was a
He was very free about sex and children
even having sex with adults
and unfortunately
I had a bad experience due to that
an adult also sexually abused me as a child
and I think it was because of
the adults thinking that the children were also
like adults
that it was easier for them to abuse the children sexually
but maybe that's me explaining that way.
I don't know.
My parents were not in it for very long,
maybe two, three years, something like that.
So then I just stopped wearing the orange clothes
and then it was just over.
At 12, we moved to another city,
so out of Amsterdam,
and we moved to Hilversum to a house.
And my life became a lot more normal, more structured.
So as a teenager, I was rather permiscuous because I had been sexually abused as a young child, unfortunately.
Afterwards, I think it was strange because why would you do that?
You've been sexually abused and then you go and have sex with a lot of boys as a result.
And also, I wasn't really even there when I had sex, I think.
I was performing.
It was a bit far from me, I think.
I was acting somehow, I think.
When I was about 20 years old, I went back to Amsterdam to live there on my own.
And then I had a very boring job at an insurance company, just an administrative job.
And boring things were never my thing.
I was always very adventurous, wanted to explore life and new experience.
everything out of the ordinary was interesting to me.
And I was always dreaming of living a life abroad
and to be practicing spirituality.
So when the group came in my life,
I couldn't have been more happy about it.
So yeah, it was a dream come true for me.
And here we are, dear listeners,
we have arrived at the main event.
Yes, the main event.
The French UFO Tantric Doomsday Alien Fairy Angel
traveling the rivers of Europe on pleasure, bold, sex cults.
Do you feel better now?
I think I rushed that delivery.
I think I can do better.
I'll try again in the third act.
So this was in the year 1996 and I was 22.
In Amsterdam, often you have these meetings where these enlightened people come to and they speak.
And even when you're sensitive, you can feel yourself getting a bit high from it.
And there was this guy sitting in the audience, and my little voice, because I have a voice
sometimes that talks to me, said to me, you have to go talk to this guy. You have to go talk
to him. And I thought to myself, okay, I'll go speak to him. I introduced myself and he said,
I'm surah. I've met this group. Do you want to come with me someday? And I said, yes. And so we met
up a few days later, and he took me to them. They were in Amayana on these boats,
which was very familiar to me.
And they were just always very happy to see new people,
especially beautiful young women.
So they were inviting us to come in.
When I first met them, they looked at me,
like no one had ever looked at me,
completely interested in me.
And it was the warm and loving family
that I had always wished for as well.
So, yeah, I was completely happy to be there.
And on deck there was a guy playing a guitar.
Of course he was, and it was 1996, so I'm sure he was either playing Wonderwall or Champaign Supernova or...
Or Wonderwall.
Or Crash Into Me.
Or Wonderwall, probably.
It was Europe, by the way.
Every boy was singing Wonderwall.
And there was a girl singing, and she was very beautiful.
And she looked in me in the eyes.
Her eyes were completely open.
It was like falling into her eyes
and she looked completely into my eyes.
I had never seen anything like it,
but it struck me and it frightened me a little bit
that someone could be this open.
It was like almost a baby,
but there was a bit of sexuality in there too.
And that combined with her beauty,
it was incredible.
And there were other people asking our name,
Why were we here?
Where were we from?
And they were showing us these photo albums of an island that they had possessed near Tahiti.
And so I thought, wow, maybe they still want to go back there and I can go with them.
I was up for anything immediately at that point.
And they started telling me a bit about how they lived and that they were living a very purified life.
And that I could come back soon if I wanted to learn more about it.
they were giving courses about it.
But I could see that there was something wrong in it as well.
Something was off.
People weren't like this normally.
That was a red flag for me, actually.
But I didn't really listen to it because the atmosphere was so beautiful.
It was so warm.
I just wanted to be there from the first moment on.
Of course, I didn't even want to leave.
So, yeah, I came back very quickly.
Maybe the next day I went into this meeting.
meeting and there was the leader of the group. So the leader's name was Jean-Paul
Apel Guerri but he called himself Yo and when he entered the room everyone stood up
and when he walked by he was followed by a lot of beautiful women and the leader of the
group was very unappealing looking guy, small French they were all French people. He was
60, a big belly. He always had sunglasses on, a lot of silver rings, an open blouse, black trousers.
And then he went to the front of the room. The beautiful women sat next to him. And then he
gestured at everyone to sit down. I was all the way in the back of the room because apparently
there was a hierarchy. And then he channeled higher dimensional energies and higher dimensional messages.
And someone sitting next to me would then translate the information in English for me,
because at that moment I didn't speak French yet.
But a lot of the time they spoke of becoming energetically purified
and how outside the world was being manipulated by negative energies.
And inside the group, they elevated the energy so high that you could elevate yourself as well.
Now, here is Yo speaking in French.
In French.
For those who can understand it.
Even if you can understand French, you can understand what he's saying.
It's kind of nonsense, but...
Simply through thought, through the management of the energy patterns described in this work,
you can completely change the atmosphere in just a few moments.
For example, if the atmosphere is very fragmented, very disturbed,
if people are burdened or caught up in disruptive forces,
simply by managing these energy lines,
according to the information contained in this work,
you can create a profound transformation in that environment.
50 or even 100 people can suddenly find themselves reoriented
into another dimension,
and I have hundreds of testimonials about this.
Through simple concentration of consciousness
and the management of energy,
it is possible to completely harmonize an environment.
Furthermore, and this is another objective point,
I have also been able, with a certain level of concentration and energy management, to move objects from a distance.
I shouldn't say it's easy. It's very difficult. It requires a great deal of concentration and very particular energy fields, but it's something that exists.
Cult word salad in French. We don't get that often, Tyler.
It's a French salad. Nishua salad.
With delicious alvecourt. I don't like the green beans, though. It kind of just,
ruins the nice sauce. Yeah, I'm kind of with you on that.
French food is also, it was wonderful.
I don't want like a huge green bean.
Because it's hard to put in your mouth and you have to bend it.
Right.
We've just lost all of our French listeners.
I'm not sure when I first spoke to the guru,
but he got a message from higher dimensions about the new person.
So he always channeled a message to the new person about them.
So you felt special right away because he had something to say about you, which came from higher dimensions.
So you were in the spotlight at that moment.
But I love the attention.
They wanted me there and I wanted to be there.
So I started coming over more and more often.
My mother was not happy that I wanted to be with them.
Immediately she said, this is dangerous.
Don't stay over.
Don't sleep there.
but I didn't care what she said.
I was rebellious, always have been.
So if I wanted to do something, I was going to do it.
When I just entered the group,
I was supposed to follow all these courses
to become more enrolled in their philosophy
and everything about what Joe was saying,
but I never did that.
I was just there for the fun of it.
And normally you had to pay to be there
but as they were so interested in me, I never had to pay anything and I never have paid anything
because I was quickly becoming like a chosen one because Yo from the beginning was very interested in me.
Yo was born and raised in Paris, I think, and his whole story was that he was contacted at the age of 12 by
extraterrestrials and he was conceived by aliens something like that even he wrote a book it was
seance uniterre inner dimensional beings i don't know exactly and he was always talking about how in
these higher energetic realms there were these hierarchies and the more you were from a southern
country the less high in energy you would be as a person so if you were from africa your energy your energy
would be very dense, according to him.
No, that's not higher energetic realms, Yo.
That's just you being a racist piece of shit.
I asked if Yo had an issue with racist,
but he said it was very important to point out the different races,
because in higher dimensions, they also do that.
So we have to be clear here on Earth on the hierarchies and races,
because then for the higher dimensions, it's also clear.
So after a while he became very interested in me
because I was the most Nordic person in the group actually
and he claimed that he could put the most subtle energies on me
and the more interested he became in me
the more interested older people became in me
so I was idolized because of it a lot
and he made it clear by putting me more in front of the room
when he was doing the meetings
I didn't really believe everything that the leader was saying, but I felt the energy and the energy was so warm and loving that I didn't really care if what he was saying was real or not.
That was not really the reason I was there.
My reason for being there was the people, the energy, the not having to work, the going on an adventure.
So my reasons were not the same as maybe the reasons the other people were there.
Okay, we are back.
So, just who the hell is this group?
This group living on these boats.
Do you want me to say it again?
I can.
The French UFO tantric doomsday alien fairy sex angel cult
traveling the rivers of Europe on pleasure boats.
Just who are they?
Well, we'll tell you.
The basic origin story goes like this.
Jean-Paul Appelguerre, known as Yo,
claimed that extraterrestrials, yes, aliens,
had intervened at his conception,
and by age 12, a beam of alien light entered his brain.
Yes.
All true.
He started the movement in Paris in 1966 when he was about 18 years old.
He called it ISOZen and formally registered the organization in 1970,
which is good.
He has a paperwork.
Great.
Good job.
But he repeatedly dissolved and rebirthed the group under a different title because cults
They love a rebrand.
So it started at Isosen, or Isouzen.
It eventually evolved into Futura.
And then it went to the name Galactius.
Then it became Euroculture.
And then it became, at one point, my favorite, Reison Nouveau.
And then Voyage's in Temporales.
I got a C-minus in French.
And then, of course, it finally landed on my rap name now.
decided today,
Siderrella.
Siderella, cut it up
one time.
Give it to me again, Rob.
Don't encourage you, Rob.
Now, Lorient
described yo very nicely earlier.
He was French.
He was fat.
He had sunglasses,
but she kind of left out
the best part of his whole picture,
which is his very bizarre facial hair.
Yeah, it's kind of French,
but yeah, it's difficult to describe.
I mean, I don't know what it is.
It's, I don't know.
It's very cult leader guy who believes.
It's a guy who believes he was conceived by an alien.
Yes, it's kind of difficult to describe.
So it's kind of like a full goatee, right?
Or a fu-manchu, but without the mustache or anything on the chin, right?
So it's kind of just two puffy strands of gray hair on the sides of his mouth.
It's like his mouth has bumper rails.
Right.
Like in bowling.
So when the balls go down the lanes,
They're guaranteed to land right in his mouth.
So this enlightened being with a bumper rail beard,
he took UFO contact, he took New Age energy work,
he took Buddhism, he took tantra, he took meditation,
and his increasingly elaborate cosmic mythology.
He threw all that shit in a spiritual blender.
And he served it up as spiritual expansion.
Yeah, their end goal.
was that the mothership was going to come and get them.
And they were living on boats at that moment.
Well, it was seven boats.
I call it yachts, but I think it was, how do you call it?
A pleasure boats, no.
Yeah, boats.
So the interior of the boats was very interesting, I thought.
The whole interior was white.
There were white rugs.
There were white doves in a cage and white rabbits.
everywhere there were images of fairies
because there were big fans of fairies
and there was always dimmed lights or colored lights
rainbow colored lights
there were also these fake plants
and in one boat it was a houseboat actually
the boat was bigger in the interior
there was a fake UFO
I don't really know where they got it from
I never asked
why don't you ask I wish she had asked
Where does one get a fake UFO from, Tyler?
Who's saying it's fake, Liz?
The junkyard.
Who's saying it's fake?
She never said fake.
When you think about this, like the white rugs, the rabbits, the beautiful fairy women, the fake UFO,
kind of sounds like the Playboy Mansion.
If Hugh Hefner was just like an enlightened French alien guru.
Yeah.
Instead of...
You know what, whatever floats your boat, bumper boy, do it.
Or boats in this case.
You have never have the bumper railing.
Yeah, Hugh, Hugh is savvy enough to shave.
By the way, not to give anything away,
but the UFO has a big part in part two of this story.
Just saying.
There are about 30, 40 people living on the boat.
There are people coming from Brazil, from Poland,
from New Zealand, from America, from Canada.
There were always people coming over.
Everyone had to have blonde, long hair, blue eyes.
If they didn't have it, they bleached their hair, and they did blue eye makeup.
They had to look like fairies, actually, or angels.
Angels or fairies.
Now, the stated purpose of this group was to raise humanity's psychomental spiritual consciousness
and prepare selected individuals for contact with extraterrestrials.
And apparently, these aliens,
only wanted the sexy humans
because aliens be picky, yo.
That's ugly.
Don't ever match with an alien on your dating ass
because he'll be like,
swipe less, bitch.
You look more like a fairy.
I know I have six eyes,
but you're not blonde enough.
We were told we were sexy, beautiful.
He was filming us.
He was really celebrating women.
And he was saying,
the more beautiful you are,
the more subtle energies can land on you.
So you felt like, oh, he thinks I'm really, really beautiful.
So all these subtle energies can land on me.
So you believed it and you could see it.
But also all these women together, it's like because we were all together,
all beautiful, all with subtle energies on us, we could elevate like that.
So Yo made music on the synthesizer.
Yeah, they played it a lot.
it was meant also to bring you to a higher level.
Yo, also, like many a coal leader fancies himself, a musician.
And he composed synthesizer music designed to raise your vibration.
Rob, why don't you elevate us with one of Yo's masterpieces?
Well, my vibration would like to go home now.
Thank you very much.
Every day of the week had a color and you had to wear.
clothes of the color of the day of the week.
Saturday was white, Sunday was black, and the rest of the week were pastel colors.
I don't remember which day was which color, but green and red were absolutely forbidden,
especially green.
Those were colors that lowered your energy.
Wow, Christmas would have been terrible for this group, just a bunch of heavy-ass track energies.
Bringing down everyone's joy!
Real cool, yo.
You cringe.
A normal day on the boats was waking up late.
You could always sleep in very late.
Just have breakfast, maybe meditate a little bit.
And normally there was very quickly mention of when the meeting would be
because there was every day a meeting.
So then if they would travel during the day, then the meeting would be at night.
So if we would travel, then we would be occupied with that.
And it was very beautiful.
I would see Holland from the water and then Belgium from the water.
It was absolutely stunning.
The landscapes and everything from the water, the group.
There were two millionaires in the group, so they sponsored highly.
And everyone was working outside of the group and some inside of the group.
And they paid a fee every month to the inner.
circle of the group. So that was how they did it. But I didn't really have a lot of notion of it
because I never paid anything. So yeah, I was just there because you thought it was pretty.
I didn't have anything to do. The other people did. They did administrative work and well,
when there was new people, I would maybe be some kind of a guide, give them tea and coffee and
speak about my positive experience there, things like that.
but not much else.
Lorraine didn't have to pay dues
because she was basically
the cult's walking brochure.
Anyone who wasn't blonde
bleached their hair blonde.
Anyone without blue eyes
would paint them blue.
And then Lorraine walks onto the boat
and she's Dutch,
she's blonde and she's blue-eyed.
I mean, she was like
the original model,
the prototype, the factory setting
for this group's infrastructure.
The only way she could have been
more of a match for this group is if she had actual fairy wings.
Which she probably did on LSD.
I have seen photos of these parties that they threw on the boat, and it's basically a bunch of
beautiful women dressed up as fairies, all made up. They're dancing on stage with colorful lights.
Lots of sequins and glitter. Yeah.
So there were a lot of parties. Often they would play 70s music.
And the one song that I most remember playing was from the Bee Gees, How Deep Is Your Love?
And still when I hear it now, I immediately go back to the group.
The lyrics are very relatable to how it was in the group.
How Deep Is Your Love?
The 1970 hit by The Brothers from Australia, the Bee Gees.
The song hit number one in America and it stayed there for three weeks.
It was on the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack.
sold 40 million albums.
Huge, huge album.
That's back when soundtracks like...
Were real.
...thing, remember?
Right.
Uh-huh.
Yeah.
And it won a Grammy, right?
Just that song, won a Grammy.
It was one of the five songs that the Gibbs, the Gibs, the Gibbs brothers, BG's wrote that was on that album.
Tyler's holding back so much BG knowledge right now, just for the sake of the episode.
And we appreciate that.
Just to let you know, like, I had written this whole...
I had written like a whole description of why they wrote it and the songs on it and what other songs they wrote and a little bit about them.
And I sent it to Liz and she was like, you know, I'm tempted to cut this.
So I just cut it back.
So internally, I am telling you telepathically, I'm channeling all of the information about the BGs, but I'm holding back.
I'm reserving now.
So nonetheless, the cult listened to it.
And why, Liz?
I had a whole reasoning.
Now we've wasted more time explaining why we cut it than just putting it in there to begin with.
It's probably more interesting.
I can't say the beeches were all that interesting.
They weren't Zeppelin.
They weren't Floyd.
The call listened to it because it was recorded in France, right?
Yeah, I suspect that's one of the reasons.
Yeah.
And it's about two people who belong only to each other, surrounded by a world, determined to break them apart.
So you can apply that to a cult.
Probably because after Cindy Lopper's time after time,
it's the best song to slow dance to in 1983.
A lot of the time they spoke of becoming energetically purified,
so no alcohol, no coffee, no meat, no sex.
Yes, so I started living like that
because I had often experienced depressions,
and I thought when I ate meat,
that maybe that was the reason I became depressed.
Or when I drank alcohol, maybe that made me more depressed.
But the no-sex part, yeah, maybe a break from sex could do me well, you know.
It could be interesting.
But very quickly, it became obvious to me that no-sex meant having sex with the leader.
So after two months, Yo said to me, very casually, go to my bedroom and prepare yourself.
And I thought to myself, prepare myself, what does he mean?
But I asked one of his women, what does he mean with prepare myself?
And she said, oh, he's going to treat you energetically.
And I was like, okay, so what does that mean?
She said, oh, you'll find out.
It's very positive that he's going to treat you energetically.
You should be glad.
And she brought me to a bedroom.
So I waited there.
I did nothing.
I didn't know what he meant with prepare yourself.
and then he came in and he said, you can undress.
And so I undress, but I kept my underwear on.
And he said, well, okay, you can keep your underwear on,
but it's rather ugly underwear.
Why don't you wear lingerie?
But, okay, I was a bit ashamed of my underwear.
And then he started to caress me everywhere on my body.
And at that moment, something happened to me.
I thought to myself, okay, so this is really sexual abuse,
what he's doing, because I,
I think he's gross. I don't like him. I'm trapped in a small room with this guy. He's touching me
everywhere and I don't want this. And then I remembered the abuse that I was undergoing as a child
and I thought, no, I'm not going to allow this abuse to once again become a trauma for the rest
of my life. So I just decided that it wouldn't be another trauma. It's like a distance myself
from that moment
and I thought
I'll deal with this later
I'll just deal with it later
I don't know
and then after a while
he just stopped
and it wasn't really
that bad you know
he just caressed me
on my body not
on my sexual
parts or anything
and then he stopped
and he said well
it was the beginning
I just mutated some of your
heavier energies
next time we'll do more
and then he left
and then
I left as well. I went home and I thought, okay, so I guess I'll never go back there.
And I was disappointed because I liked it there, but I thought, you know, this is not okay.
Yeah, no, that is definitely not okay.
Lorraine knew exactly what had just happened and she went home thinking she would never go back.
But leaving Yo's boat was not the same as leaving a new life that she had fallen in love with.
And then I got a call from this guy.
He was this exceptionally good-looking French guy,
black curly hair, blue eyes.
He was called...
Lorene did ask that we not use his name,
but since he is a major part of this story,
we're going to call him Mark.
Since there will be so many beeps, Rob,
just insert the name Mark.
I'll give you five takes.
Mark. Mark.
Mark.
Mark.
Mark.
Mark.
It was weird because he was very very into the group.
He'd been there for a long time, 10 years already.
And he was 15 years older than me.
Also, he had a company in Paris, his own company.
So he went back and forth.
And he said, can you show me Amsterdam?
I'm here for a couple of days.
And I really like you.
And I was, wow, he likes me.
So we met up and he was very flirty with me and we kissed and we fell in love.
It was very sensitive and really we did fall in love.
But I'm not sure if I realized that he was called to make me come back to the group.
But it worked.
So I went back because I was very much in love with him.
When the boats were still in Amsterdam,
Mark told me very early on that I had to take HIV.
test and other STD tests. And then I said, but why? I was still very naive about why do I have to do
this just to be in this group? But Mark said, yeah, it's normal. Everybody has done it. And luckily,
the tests came back negative. So I could stay. And he reported back to Yo, of course, that the
test came back negative. Lorraine believed that the tests were for health and safety. She didn't yet
understand who the results were really for.
And so then the group decided to go to Belgium.
I had to decide, am I coming with them, and am I staying in Holland?
And that was a bit of a difficult decision because that was really the decision,
now I'm going to come with them.
Yeah, so at that point I was so in love with Mark that I decided to come with them on the boat
to Belgium.
I just quit my apartment altogether because I didn't have a job anymore.
I couldn't afford anything anymore.
So I had to completely leave my life behind
and I went with them completely.
I lived on the boats with them and Mark was on and off on the boats
but also long periods of time in Paris
to manage his company there.
I was very much under the influence of Yo.
Yoh started putting on a lot of pressure afterwards
because apparently the men were supposed to bring in the beautiful ladies
but then pass them on to Yo.
But Mark didn't really want to pass me on to Yo
because he was in love with me.
Every day he had these meetings with the whole group
and it was like he was talking directly to me.
He was saying, everyone has to be celibate.
There can be no relationships in the group.
People are becoming too manipulated by dark energies
because they are in relationships.
and Mark was very affected by this because Yo just wanted us to split up and me to become Yo's
girlfriend. He actually wanted me to become the number one woman. Most people thought,
Yo studied psychology, which I think came in very handy for him because he had a lot of tricks
up his sleeve. He was always in meetings or putting people down or giving
them compliments and he was doing this back and forth thing. Also after meetings he would talk for
hours and hours and then channeling beings and messages and after a meeting he would say did everyone
feel that what I said was true and if you made the mistake to say no I didn't feel it then for hours
on you would go through these energetic treatments actually all the women were getting
energetic treatments from Yo.
And what he said was that he was the only one on earth who could do things to the women
to energetically lift them up.
He had sex with other women, so group sex, meetings.
It was more like meetings, he would call it.
He would always call us little pussy cats.
His women were Petitia, his pussy cats.
I thought it was kind of funny, actually.
because it was so obvious, so, yeah, strange.
Yo would just say to his number one woman,
I will have a meeting in my boat,
and then she would say to some people have,
so come join us.
So no men were allowed in these sessions with the women
when they elevated the energy.
So his pussy cats, he would have them all in his meeting,
and then he would do the energetic treatment,
which was basically him fingering everyone until they would climax.
And the women would look me in the eyes when they climaxed.
And I was very embarrassed by it.
And then he would say to me, you see, you see, Laurine,
we are like one body here.
We are all connected.
We're fluid in the energy.
And the outside world is dangerous.
your family, your friends outside, they're being manipulated by dark forces and they don't even know it.
And here we're protected. We're like one body. We're protected and I liked it.
Just to be with these women, be together, close like that with them.
You have such a strong bond afterwards with everyone. And in society, everyone's like an island.
It's not the same. It's not adventurous. It was the best adventure.
of my life. I have been depressed about it for 20 years when I left, but more because I missed
them a lot. It was a drug for me. It was so enticing, you know, but now I can laugh about it.
It's been long enough.
Thank you, Lorraine, for sharing and for being able to laugh about it and letting us laugh
along with you. But what makes her story so complex is that she knew it was abusive.
And yet she remembers it as the best adventure of her life.
I bet there's a lot of people that feel like that, right?
There's like a weird feeling when you leave a cult
because you kind of remember what you want to remember.
I think you stayed in there long enough to believe that it was something adventurous and wonderful.
I must say, you know, we've done a lot of cult shows.
Being on a boat, like her situation, being on a boat, being taken care of,
every night, traveling through the rivers of Europe.
And I mean, it sounds delightful, frankly, except for Yo.
Bumper Boy just, and it gets worse, folks.
Oh, God.
He gets worse in episode two.
I feel like Yo and Hoyt's Freddie von Myers would have been besties.
Yeah, they could have joined forces.
Like, the beautiful people's cults.
Yes, the beautiful people called the French American, UFO, Tantric,
but supermodel, doomsday, star, star,
tourist alien fairy walk-in, angel sex cult, but not sex, cult.
No sex.
Studio 54, called traveling the rivers of Europe, but also maintaining a nice studio apartment
in New York while also having a home in North Carolina loaded with guns called story.
A bunker.
Right.
That is a good one.
Yeah.
If my head didn't explode, I would listen.
Lorraine has written a book.
It's a fictionalized account based on her story.
called the Golden Shawl.
There is a link in the show notes.
Next week, guys, the mothership gets a departure date,
if you know what I'm saying.
And if you don't know what I'm saying,
Lorene is about to explain it.
Their end goal was that the mothership was going to come and get them.
And I remember one day that Yo was saying,
soon the mothership will come and get us.
And one time he said, now the mothership will come tomorrow
and we will finally be retrieved.
And everyone was ecstatic.
This is our show.
There's the show.
Thank you, everyone, for listening.
Join our Patreon, and you get to dress up like a fairy.
We don't have a boat or a fake UFO.
Speak for yourself, Liz.
Haven't been over in a while.
I don't think you want to invite anybody on to a fake UFO after they listen to part two.
Was I in a cult?
Or in French, it's...
E. Tartre d'ensect.
Is hosted, written, produced, messed up by me, Tyler.
Pleasure boat, me soon.
And me, real blue eyes, Lizaikusi.
And Rob, just subtle energies, para.
Dark, heavy Shrek energy, para.
Rob is still sick from his trip to Mexico.
You guys, Rob got the lettuce disease, I think.
not to out you to everybody, Rob.
He can edit it, but we're at least going to say it.
If he chooses to keep this in, that tells you something about Rob.
He's in control.
And it's kind of sad because normally he joins us.
And when he said he couldn't because he has the lettuce sickness,
my first thought wasn't, oh, that's so bad for Rob.
My first thought was, God, I wish you were on because we could make fun of you on the show.
I thought he was just.
just like, I don't feel like working.
I'm pretending to have this.
And then a week later, he's like, I got to go to the doctor to see if this cyclosporia is still in my system.
I was like, wait.
Good way to call in sick.
If you just said, I can't make it.
I have the lettuce sickness.
Stay home.
Stay away.
But we don't have the lettuce sickness, so we will be back next week.
So long as Rob is still alive.
Ted to your colon and your cyclosporacisicis.
Oh, thank you, everyone.
Thank you for listening to the French.
How do you say cyclosporia in French?
Ciclosporia.
Editor's note.
Yeah, this is not a joke.
I definitely got something when I was in Mexico.
I don't know if it's the lettuce disease, if it's cyclospora or not,
but it's all of the exact same symptoms.
So we're going to roll with it.
I was in Mexico about three weeks ago,
and I got sick, like, right when I got home.
I felt like a trendsetter because I got it right when all the reports were coming out
about cyclospora being a thing.
If you're not currently eating,
I'm going to let you know exactly on the Bristol stool chart.
Where I am sitting, if you don't know, the Bristol school chart,
it's like a spectrum of poop quality.
I was like a seven, and now I'm at like a four to six.
You know, Google image search that if you are curious.
It's enlightening.
Yeah, so something's clearly going on.
I'm really lethargic, which might.
be due to the medication that I'm on, but
I have basically no appetite.
So we're calling it organic
Ozempic in my house. I'm down about
10 pounds. So
you know, if you
need to shed a little bit of that
summer barbecue weight,
eat some poop lettuce.
All right, Rob out.
Thank you, everyone.
Thank you for listening to the French UFO
tantric. Doomsday, Alien, Fairy,
Angel, Sacks, called, Trave, Rivers of Europe on.
Pleasure Bowles.
in France translates to
Melody de la lettu
or Melody de Salat.
Oh, that's what I call it.
Poor Rob has
Malady de Salad.
This is not a Nishua salad.
Which, again, the green beans.
Why?
They don't belong in a salad.
I know they're healthy
and blah-da-blah-da.
I don't want them in my salad.
Thank you, everyone.
We'll see you next week.
