Welcome back to We Are Chelsea, the official podcast of Chelsea Women, brought to you in association with Skoda, the official car partner for Chelsea women and proud supporters of women's sport.
I'm M. Warbank and today we're welcoming two close friends who have shared parts of their footballing journeys together already and were reunited in the summer when one of them joined the Blues.
We're going to catch up on life on the pitch and off the pitch and get to know these two a little bit better.
This is We Are Chelsea with Kedisha Buchanan and Ellie Carpenter.
I just got to pick up my puppy.
Oh my gosh.
What kind of puppy do you have?
Cockapoo, his name's Louis.
Oh my God.
Correct answer.
I think someone's nothing.
Is that Louis?
Yeah, Louis T's.
Well, welcome to the pod guys.
Thanks for, thanks for coming down.
How are you both today?
Yeah, good.
Yeah, I'm good too.
Thanks for you.
I'm great.
Thank you very much.
Welcome back to the pod, Kish.
This is your first time on the pod, Ellie.
First time.
Oh my God, I'd like to say the same, but I've been doing it
for like, I don't know, since September now.
So, so welcome, welcome to the domain.
We've not caught up with you much since you joined the club, Elliot.
How's life at Chelsea been for you so far?
Yeah, I've really enjoyed it.
It feels like I've been here a little longer than only like six months.
So, yeah, I feel like I'm fitting in well,
and it's a great group of girls.
Obviously, I've known Keish for a long time,
so it's really nasty back on the same team, as it?
Yeah, because you guys go quite a way back.
What was it like coming back together for Chelsea?
It's fun, exciting.
Hoping to be back playing with her,
but I think her being at the club is definitely great for us.
And obviously just my friend being at the club
just gives it more of like a home feeling.
Yeah.
I can imagine it's quite nice to see a familiar face.
Yeah, exactly.
Yeah.
Because coming to London's quite a culture shock as well.
It's crazy.
Now that you've been here a while,
what sort of surprised you most about life at the club?
I don't know.
I don't think anything really surprised me that much.
I feel like every kind of environment is quite similar, like with the team,
and you kind of just do kind of the same things.
So I wouldn't say anything has kind of surprised me.
The weather surprised me.
Yeah, the weather.
I just, right something.
Apparently it's rained every day of 2026.
Oh, yeah.
I saw that.
I was like, oh, yeah.
I saw that.
I was like, oh, yeah, great.
Some bleak metrics.
Yeah, that's crazy.
Can we, like, put it out there that we want some good weather?
Like, we want a good summer.
I want to be able to sit in the bag,
and with the Pims and have a nice time.
I can't do that in this rain.
That's terrible.
So you guys play together at Leon.
Did you guys connect straight away?
Was it like a slow burn thing?
Because obviously you guys have come to Chelsea both as good friends.
What was that like when you first met?
I feel like she's more like open and I'm more like close and shy.
So I think she got along with everyone and so do I.
But I feel like the connection didn't happen until like later on.
And when we clicked.
we click so it's like
I know what she's thinking and she knows that I'm thinking
and then when we're playing and we look at each other
on the field we know exactly
what it is so I think we have
that sort of connection like
really connected to each other
they're the best sort of friendships when you can tell
what somebody's thinking I can look at
I do it with my laugh at all the time
I look at his eyebrows and I know exactly what he's
thinking because you're just looking and you're like I'm so
in tune with where you are
like why can I tell the fact that your eyebrows
twitched once and I know exactly
exactly what you mean.
Yeah.
If Keish was the opposite room and like,
I just look at it out,
we just know what with each other are thinking.
Have you ever done that and made each other laugh
in like an inappropriate?
Always laugh.
One week look or like,
yeah.
Yeah.
Does anybody else ever pick up on it sometimes
when you're making each other laugh?
I think LJ.
I feel like it's quite funny
because obviously I have a connection
with both with them,
but then they also have a connection.
So they're kind of getting that connection
as well when they look at each other they both know what they're feeling so it's kind of like yeah it's quite cool
it's like when everybody Bluetooth's in on the same brain cell and that one brain tell's working over time for like three or four people
you could so tell you were at leon with cat too just having a familiar group around make it easier settling in
yeah i think coming here obviously knowing kij and cat and two of my closest friends that were at my wedding as well
So just before season started as well.
So yeah, it's nice to connect back with them here.
And I was speaking to them a lot, obviously, before I signed
and kind of asking them questions and stuff.
But yeah, it's really nice to be back with them
because, yeah, I've had such a good relationship at Leon with them.
Going back to you, even from previous teams,
having teammates at your wedding,
in case you were out of the wedding,
what was it like to be there for such a big day for you team?
No, it was a sick wedding.
Like, honestly,
like it was beautiful like in the south of france and like nice music where is the band from
australia oh um nice macho like the best macha ever had was it from australia i'm just like
she imported all of australia into that wedding but it was so sick like the food the vibe
the people um it was really nice to be there and be invited um yeah it's definitely
yeah it was fun as well
partying was fun and
relaxation as well was on like
resort you can go to spa and stuff like that
so it's quite nice
what a vibe and right what are you important
from Australia what are you bringing in on like your day to day life
because I feel like I need a list of recommendations
like now yeah I actually bought
vegamite into the into like the canteen area
like because for breakfast like sometimes I just felt
vegamite toes so I brought in a squeezy bottle
but I think the Aussies that are in the building appreciated
that like we have a physio that's Australian and he's like did you see the
vegamide upstairs I was like yeah surprise I'm the veggermite fairy but I get coffee like every
month from Australia like delivered so that's fantastic yeah is Australia and coffee known
for me I'd never like heard the hype about Australian coffee no oh my god for me like the best
coffee is in Australia I'm we're gonna have to we're gonna have to get on board with that
I think a lot of people probably would agree to that my sister's a big
coffee game. Oh really? And we'll regularly talk at me about coffee beans and I'd love to be able to
offer something back up to her. So I'm going to go and tell her that she'll go. Yeah, she probably knows.
Yeah, I'm going to tell her it's where it's at. Yeah. I've had recommendations.
What was it like having so many of your teammates at such a big life moment at your wedding?
Yeah, it was really special. I think, you know, we'll spend most of our lives together playing
football every day. Like I spend more time with my teammates and my family, obviously my family being
in Australia. So when I was at Leon for five years, I created some lovely friendships that I would
cherish forever. And yeah, Keish is one of them. And, you know, when she left Leon, we kept in contact.
And I said, don't worry. I think we'll play together hopefully one day again. So, yeah, just having those
friendships and then celebrating on, yeah, the best day of my life with them there was real special.
That's so lovely. Now, before we were recording tonight, we were chatting, Ellie got a new puppy
in January. We need all of the details about, you know,
Louis. Case you've met Louis. What are your opinions on Louis? He is a cute dog.
It even got Keish thinking maybe I should get it. Yeah, I've never heard you say that.
Like, I'm not like a super dog mom, but I do enjoy a dog's company. I'm just like, hmm, maybe.
Maybe I could be a dog mom one day, but we'll see. You've been influencing. Yeah.
How is Louis settling in to Chelsea life? Yeah, to Chelsea life. No, he's settling in really well,
obviously three months old so yeah you know the potty training but he's doing really well
his first day of daycare today so I'm having a little you know a bit stress hope he's behaving
I'm nervous to pick him up you don't want to hear if he's been misbehaving so he can't come back
tomorrow yeah he's eaten all of the wires is he a big chimmer um yeah all the slides at the shoes
oh god I think he's destroyed all our slides at home oh no
That's just not what you want.
No.
Yeah, see?
I can't.
Yeah, that's a tough one.
It's a tough one.
Do you know what?
Any shoes at the front of the door?
But if you don't look once, like if you're not looking at him for five seconds,
he could be chewing on your favourite pair of shoes.
And upstairs we have all our kind of like nice shoes.
And if he goes in there, I'm sprinting up because I'm like, he's on eating some shoe.
I mean, it's great cardio.
Yeah, that's true.
Great training.
He's keeping you on your turns.
I don't think Ellie needs any more.
to be honest.
Yeah, I need a chew.
She's working over time instead.
Louis's got her.
Yeah, Louie's got me running.
Louis's got her wrapped her on his little finger.
We're going to play a game called Call Them Out.
I'm going to give you a prompt,
and you're going to call the other person out,
so Keish, you can call Elia out,
and you can call Keish out.
We're not going to be too savage.
Yeah.
We're not out for blood.
Keep it classy.
It's a family show.
It's a family show.
We're advertising the seven-seat er Niac.
So call them out for something they're secretly good at.
Oh, I think you're really good at cooking when you're in the mood.
Okay.
Oh, I like this.
What you're cooking to teach?
Like I used to get videos of Keisha's kitchen.
She's in her element.
Like she's got the music on.
She's cooking.
And I'm like, girl, what are you cooking up?
That could be breakfast, lunch or dinner.
My music is always on when I'm getting ready to go out.
My music's on.
Well, she's got a playlist or album.
I like dance all reggae, so let's say like Vibes Cartel.
Nice.
Major one.
Add it to the playlist, I'll try it out.
Maybe it'll inspire me to start cooking something.
Yeah, just add some spices in there.
Just dablet.
Ellie, I would say, I don't know a secret, but she's good at organizing stuff.
That's true.
She's a really good.
What are we talking, like Marie Kondo style folding your pants in the drawer?
Whatever you, whatever you, like, what's the best coffee?
Bam.
Yeah.
Ellie.
You get my eyebrows and where should I go?
Yeah, where should I go?
I need to go to a restaurant.
Where shall I go?
Like, she's a concierge.
Yeah.
She's a concierge.
We've got Keisha's kitchen and Ellie the concierge.
I'm something that they don't get enough credit for.
Oh.
Do you get enough credit for?
Ellie's energy.
She's like firebacker.
Like it's, I think, yeah, she keeps the vibes going.
I like it.
Oh.
Mm-hmm.
And in music in the morning, gets a team going.
I'm on music.
Mm-hmm.
What's on your playlist?
What are you putting on to?
Everything.
Changed up.
Very cultural.
Just, you know.
French to Dutch to Dutch, to English, to a bit of R&B.
Sing-along, rap.
Rap, ratchet music.
Yeah, it's very different.
diverse.
So you both like your music then.
Did you catch the Super Bowl at the weekend?
Or did you, more importantly, did you catch the halftime show?
I watched her when I woke up.
It was amazing.
Yeah.
It got me thinking, why do we not have like a little midgame performance in English football?
If you could have anybody perform at like half time of a game, who are you having?
Rihanna.
Yeah, Rihanna.
That's such a good shout.
But if that's not a push for her to do another album, like give us the new album, really.
Stop giving us skincare.
We don't want it.
We want your album, babes.
We want Fenty, but we also want your music.
Yeah, I mean, I will say Fenty Highlighter, Slay,
but give me the album.
I need the album.
We've not had an album in so long.
Wait, I didn't say the most underrated thing about Kij.
Oh, for it.
I think her, like, leadership and the way she leads,
because, yeah, for me, like, she's such a leader
and, like, on and off the pitch,
and whenever Kish talks or, like, you know,
in training and.
the games i feel like everyone's like really lucked in and yeah i think she probably doesn't give
herself enough credit for that this is turning out to be such a wholesome episode i love her i love it we
started off with stop it now now we're doing to her up women in sports we love it i'm what's your
favourite thing about each other oh this is really wholesome yeah i think ellie is very
thoughtful i think she thinks about who she cares about a lot and
Just makes him feel welcome.
Do fun things with them.
Like outside of training ground, meet up for coffees,
go out to dinners, stuff like that.
That's really lovely.
Oh, that's cute.
That is really cute.
Yeah.
I think, like, Keisha's personality and her honesty,
and I think, like, our friendship is just real special.
Like, obviously we've known each other now for, like, what, six?
six years and I think what like no matter like sometimes when like say we're like 30 minutes
from each other and like like like oh keish is in town I'm gonna go see her like I feel like I wouldn't
travel 30 minutes to go see a friend but like I would go travel 30 minutes to go see keish you know
like there have to be a certain level of friend yeah I would do anything at the threshold yeah
and like I feel like keish would do that for me and I would do that for her like yeah I would
just do anything for her and I feel like we have that for each other so that's nice I remember one time
I want to go see Leon Arsenal at the Emirates one time.
And I'm like, I want to see her after the game.
But it was like really impossible.
So as the bus was like driving back, I'm like, bye, Ellie.
Like I waited like 20 minutes just to give her a wave.
It was so cute.
I wouldn't do that for anyone.
I'll be gone.
Yeah, like, bye.
That's like some elite friendship status that we're waiting for the bus.
Obviously, you've known each other a long time.
What's the thing that they complain about?
the nurse so what does keish complain about the most what does ellie complain about the mass
too early me i want to sleep oh yeah you wake up at seven we used to be roommates at leon and
i used to wake up and have breakfast come back she'd still be sleeping in the room so i'm like
so quiet all the time trying to not wake her up but you're not more in person she's not more
Not one person.
Yeah.
But I'll sleep until like the long as possible.
I had a bed quite early.
Maybe we're on that trip and I got up at like 8am for like a boat ride.
Oh yeah.
Yeah.
That was.
But then you're like,
see Ellie,
Ellie, thanks for getting me up.
Like I had a great morning.
I'm just going to like push her out a bit.
You don't really complain.
No, actually,
you don't really complain.
Don't really complain.
We're not really complainers.
I feel like that's a really British thing.
I don't know if you've noticed that about it.
Yeah.
The British members on your team.
Mernan is our national sport
like we love to complain
if there's something to complain about
you're there
that's why trip advisor exists
I mean look at the weather
I can understand
yeah I understand why they're miserable
yeah I do
that's exactly why
and you've been on our public transport here
I'm assuming you've been on the underground
terrible why is it like that
I don't know
no comment
you're allowed to comment
no comment
what is something that
the other person always brings on a trip.
You bring the vibes.
I bring banana crips.
I think we both bring the vibes.
That feels like it should be a tiction.
Yeah, vibes music, energy.
I feel like your eyelashes are always popping.
I always put on that mascara and make it long, nice.
What do you bring on the trip down?
Oh yeah, I always have to have my eyebrows done.
I feel like if I don't have my eyebrows down, like,
Not like done, but just like waxed or threaded.
Then I just don't feel like clean.
Is that weird?
No.
No, I get that.
Like, sometimes if I'm not in the mood to do anything,
I'll do my eyebrows and nothing else and I feel like I look for representable.
Yeah.
I feel like eyebrows shape your face.
They do.
Eyebrows really do.
They're like, I was going to say, I don't have much eyebrows,
so I can't really.
That's what your eyes are.
Yeah, they're there.
We got a micablaner.
Yeah.
She told me to get my hair, my eyebrows,
microbladed. Oh my gosh.
Because she has a person. She knows.
So. Yeah.
Any carpenter's got a person for everything.
What was the microbladed next?
It hurts.
It really, really hurts.
Well, she told me to put numbing cream on.
So I put the numbing cream on.
But then it just felt, look weird.
It looked crusty.
So I took it off before I went to go get it done.
So it obviously.
It wasn't numb.
It hurt.
Yeah.
No, I can imagine.
Because it's like you get, it's essentially like a tattoo on your face, isn't there?
Yeah, like, little, like, lines.
I can imagine that it, that's, oh, quite painful.
Right.
Were you there for the whole process?
No, she wasn't there, but she just recommended me to the place.
I got it in my head then that you were like stood bedside.
She gets it so, like, often, I'm just like, how?
I never went back.
Six years later, yeah.
Six years later, I was scarred for life.
Literally.
Is there a weird food that either of you like?
Is there one that you've noticed that Ellie likes or one that you've noticed?
That veggie mite.
No.
Veggime.
I made you try that two ones.
Yeah, you did.
Kishu's got beef and vegamai.
Yeah.
You're not a fan?
It's just a acquired taste that I don't have.
Because the closest thing, it's like over here is like to Marmite.
Marmite, yeah, but I've tried that I don't like my mind.
No.
And I don't really like relish and that's like far worse than relish.
No, I can get on board with that, yeah.
I'm not a fan myself.
But it's all right.
Can't like everything.
Yeah, I don't know about cute.
I think I like every food.
Like, I'm a big foodie, so I'm always down to try food and new things.
But I can't really.
Yeah.
Like, once we've had Jamaican food, like.
I think once in Leon, we each brought our own.
Yeah, like country dish.
Oh, that was so fun.
Yeah, it was cool.
That sounds like such a great way to bring, like, a whole team together.
Yeah, that was a cool idea.
National dishes and stuff.
That was nice, yeah.
Oh, last one for this game.
What is something that the other person does that makes the team smile?
Oh.
There's some serious thinking going on today on the podcast.
It's that mastermind.
Well, I think everyone's smiling because Keish is back, like, training.
And I think we've met, well, I've only been here for half a season,
but I felt the team misses Keish so much, her presence.
So having her back in training has already lifted the vibe.
So it's really nice.
I was lovely
I would say for Ellie
is obviously
her presence
obviously her accent is strong
sometimes so
you kind of like
giggle at that
but it's like her energy
and you know when Ellie
walks into her room
because she's quite loud and stuff
so we're like
good morning Ellie
that's so sweet
well well done guys
for playing it
call them out
we've not caught with
any of the team really since they
warm weather camp in Portugal how was that
it wasn't really warm
yeah
it was just more like a training camp
felt similar to
here because it was kind of rainy
and a bit chilly
but I think it was nice
to get back moving and
I was actually in training for a little bit
for the first time so
yeah so that was
that was nice so I started off the year
pretty good
yeah and how
if you don't mind as asking, how is your recovery going?
Because I think the fans have been very keen to get you back on the field.
She's flying.
Yeah, I think I'm in a pretty good space right now.
I've just been back with the team since the start of the year.
And I'm just been grafting and been working hard to get back to just playing games with the team.
And hopefully I'll make an appearance soon.
That's what we want to hear.
That's great.
I'm speaking of things that we want to hear about.
Ellie,
we've heard you've been playing a lot of banana grams.
What is that?
Well, it's like scrabble.
So it's like all little pieces of,
you get all,
I don't know,
he has like maybe 100 tiles
and each tile has like a letter like ABC, whatever.
And you get 10 tiles each and you play two or three people
and then you have to make words like to all connect.
And yeah, we've been playing that ever since we've doing those long bus rides down to Manchester or Liverpool.
So to keep us busy.
But yeah, I'm obsessed.
No, that feels like a really good way to have some team downtime.
Is there any other sort of games that you all play?
Because I can recommend.
I tried hopping in one time.
You were good for the first time.
Yeah, for first time.
But it was definitely overwhelming.
My brain was like working hard.
I was just like, wow.
let me just go take a nap after this but it's good it's fun yeah it's fun it's fun I think
some of the girls play like Yatsi oh yeah Yatsi's yeah that's a big game in the team as well
we're gonna have to get like a full list of game recommendations there's a lot of games
the girls play there's a so many yeah signal is it I can't remember or something yeah but I'm
I'm only banana and graham girl now I'm I'm hopeless it's grab-all because I'm dyslexic
but we've started taking we've started taking to play
virtual monopoly which just fills me with white hot rage it makes me so angry I'm not a
monopoly girl I like cheating and you can't cheat it on the virtual one you can't steal money
from the bank exactly and that's my go-to move that's my go-to move because my sister
always used to be the banker and bless her heart she's got a bladder like a grip the minute
she gets up we're all in that box and she's like why is there no 100s there and it's terrible
Did you do any team building activities while you're out in Portugal this time?
No, we did a couple.
Yeah, we did a couple.
We did a scavenger hunt.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, that was fun.
Always.
Scavengerand's always a good time.
And then we did have like a mini challenge.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, we're still yet to get our prize.
Yeah, we work.
Good reminder.
Yeah, I didn't know a prize.
We were in the winning team.
Yeah, we're a winning team and they're like, oh yeah, you guys get a prize.
And we have a lot.
There we go.
So whoever's responsible for sorting that prize.
You've been called out on the pod.
You have a week to respond.
Exactly.
Are you all as competitive off the pitch as you are on the pitch?
Or is that just like an exclusive to football thing?
Sometimes.
Depends on what the vibe is.
Sometimes if we're all flat, we're like, okay.
But if we're really hype, like, it gets competitive.
People start cheating and you start arguing.
Yeah.
It gets pretty competitive.
Who's the most competitive off the pitch out of the team?
I'd say yo-yo.
Yeah, she's competitive.
Do you know what?
After seeing her do that Skoda Driving Dunge,
I can believe that.
She locked in so fast.
I mean, there was a lot of competitiveness
going on that day, a lot of competitiveness,
but I can believe that from you, yeah, yeah.
Do you have any other standout memories from the trip
other than winning the scavenger hunt?
Remember going in the ocean.
I don't really like the water,
but I don't know, something just came over me.
I mean, like, I need to go in this water.
It was refreshing.
We had to go to the thing on the beach and then only like five of us went in the water after.
It was nice.
It was probably like five or six degrees.
Oh my God, that sounds really cold.
It was cold.
This is supposed to be a warm weather camp.
Yeah, exactly.
But that's fine.

Ellie, Alyssa and Ney said that out with everybody in the team.
They'd love to be in your head for the day.
Oh.
Why do you think they chose you?
Yeah, I don't know.
That.
They probably just want to see.
Sometimes I'm a little, like, crazy,
so they probably just wanted to see what's going on up there.
They want to see all the recommendations.
They're like, we went to see the country.
They want to see the roller decks of what's going on up there.
See, Sam also told us that you're big into Ligree?
Oh, Lagree.
What is Ligree?
It's another version of Pilates.
So it's not Pilates.
It's called Ligree.
It's like a new thing.
Well, not new, but it's been around not.
as long as Polaris.
It's just a class,
similar to Pilates,
but you just hold, like,
positions under tension for longer.
It's really hard.
It's harder than Pilates.
Yeah, it sounds hard.
Keisha, are you up for joining that?
I'll start with Pilates,
and then I'll work my way up.
Yeah.
Ligri.
No, that sounds intense.
How long have you been doing LaGre?
Like two years, I think.
Did you think that the football
wasn't enough?
Did you think, yeah,
let's hold some positions
for a long time as well.
Yeah, that's actually true.
Let's put my body under as much stress as possible and out for the best.
I don't know.
It's just a nice, that's one of my hobbies.
I don't do it every day.
Have you taken anybody else from the team to do it with you at any point?
No, I haven't.
I used to do it with a teammate in Leon, Lindsay.
We used to go a lot, probably too much, but I don't have a great buddy in London.
I think Lucy might go with you.
Yeah, she'd probably like it.
I think she'd probably like it.
She's just been signed up.
I like it.
Okay.
She was volunteering.
I'll take it to my next love.
I'll take it.
Keish, we've got to talk about what you're up to at the moment.
You're launching a foundation to support young female footballers from single
parent households. Tell us more about that. That sounds so exciting.
Yeah, I think just look out for the launch. It is coming soon.
Just about there to launch everything.
But yeah, basically as part of a FIFA kind of, how would you call it?
activation. So they're going to try to do this like every year with different athletes. So you basically
get 14 athletes or however many athletes. You kind of do a couple days of learning, mentoring,
and then the players will come up with their social impact thing that they want to just make
an impact on. And I chose single mothers and their daughters because I'm from a single mom
household and I know the struggles and the hardship it took to get where I am today so I basically
trying to start a foundation where I'm able to help mothers and their daughters in to similar
situation that I was in to help them out for them to not be in that situation and just give them
a sense of community because there'll be other girls and families involved and also being able to
just mentor them, give them shared experience, make them go to maybe the FIFA World Cup this summer
and just give them a place that they feel safe and not judged by their economic stability.
So, yeah, I think, and I'll be there to coach them time to time.
And, yeah, just make it fun and, yeah, hope for the best.
That must be really impactful to do something within the first.
football community that's really close to your heart.
What has it been like for you setting that up and going through that process?
Yeah, I wouldn't say it's been too hard because I have like a super, super impact coach
that helps me with most of the things.
But it's just really exciting.
Some things I don't know that I now know about setting up a foundation and stuff like
that how hard it is and and this is obviously a non-profit organization so putting it out there
um if any donations yeah stuff like that um i'm always there's always welcome like any help that you can
get basically to the help the cohort of girls that i'll be able to take in yearly it must be quite
interesting to do something away from the football pitch um how important is it for both of you to have
that fulfill you away from football?
Yeah, I think for me, being injured for over a year,
I think that helped me just kind of think about life outside of football
and how can I just be impactful with my day and with my time.
And I think having that was like super, super helpful
just with like my mental being and just feel like I'm doing something better for the world.
world. So I think that was super helpful for me. And now that it's still playing but it's continuing.
Yeah, it just gives me motivation. It gives me some motivation as well to do better.
It would be nice to give back to the community that's supported you through your football
in Korea. Exactly. And while I'm in this position and still playing, I think it's helpful
for my foundation as well. Yeah. That's really cool. We do another game on the podcast called
whistleblower, which is, Ellie, you look really contented. Basically, it gives you the chance to be
the referee in people's lives. The fans have sent in some scenarios and they're looking for advice.
So you can, this is entirely up to you. You can give a red and yellow card to the situation.
You can wade in and help give some advice on the situation. It's completely up to you. But basically,
you get to meddle and I love that. So our first scenario is my friend and I booked a holiday.
and two days before we're meant to go,
she can no longer go.
It's not her fault,
but I feel really upset
about potentially wasting my money.
I feel like I won't enjoy it as much alone.
What should I do?
I'm going.
Girl, go.
I am going.
I thought the same thing.
I read that and I was like...
What would you?
Like, you need to go.
Yeah.
Also, to me, like, enjoy your own company as well.
A long time.
Okay, she can't come.
Okay, cool.
You're like, shame for your friend, but...
Yeah, a red card for your friend.
That's a red card.
Like,
Mm-hmm.
That's, I mean, I don't know what she has going on, but.
Get yourself in the sun.
Have a nice cheeky cut.
Get yourself on that plane and you're going to meet.
Exactly.
You might go and make friends.
Yeah.
Because I go on trips by myself as well.
Are you a big solo traveler?
Yeah.
Where's your favorite place that you've been as a solo traveler?
Yeah, so I went to Lecern.
Lovely.
Yeah, last year.
And I went to the spa.
up in like the mountain and it was beautiful what's the way she got it from
concierge concierge there we go you see the connection here like she messrs what's your good spa
she's go to you should go here yeah i'm gonna start coming to you for more recommendations i'm gonna i'm
just i'll be in the dms like early carcester i need dinner reservations where am i going exactly
no that place is like one of the most amazing places i went to jamaica by myself for a little bit then seen
family. I went to
Ibita
for a little bit and then I met up with
my other friend. Oh, I love Batha.
I used to live there. Yeah. Oh, wow.
I used to work in hotels.
I used to be a holiday rap. Do you know those annoying people
that tried to make you play water polo?
Meant's.
Employed. You want to go to that? Chimby to meet mechita beach
today. Do you want to come play ping pong?
No. I'd probably like,
yeah, I'll play. Yeah. Yeah, I join him.
Yeah. I'll come. Do you know
what? You were the reason that my job
existed so we love that so are we ready for a second scenario hey oh god this is this looks like a
heavy one um i left my headphones in the library at uni and they're personalized with stickers
etc so i was hoping someone would hand them in and i'd get them back anyway on my way to a lecture
this morning i saw some random wearing them and i didn't know them so didn't say anything but i know
they were mine and i want them back what do i do go up to him or them yeah um excuse me
have headphones. Why'd you steal my headphones, bro? I'd be like, excuse me. First of all, I think I'd be
like, oh, where'd you get your headphones? Can I see them? I'd be like, oh yeah, that's mine.
Thank you. Yeah, I'd be, I'd be a bit more aggressive. I'd just like, go shit, I'm going to grab them off.
No, I'd be a bit like, what's going on? I feel like that'd kill me if I saw someone in my headphones.
I'd go straight out though. I've lost 100 headphones. So if I see, I see it. I'd be going to, I've lost 100 headphones.
If I were to see someone with my headphones, I'd be glad to take them back.
That's why I have to like some.
My headphones never returned up, so.
We've all been victim to losing an air pod.
Oh, that's crazy.
Girl.
As if you, I need a bit of this.
Where do you get this confidence from to just be like, yeah, I'm going to, I'm walking.
Oh, they're mine.
Yeah, they stole them.
So I'm going to go get it back.
See, this is the British in me.
I'd feel like I'd need to say sorry 60 times before I even, like, got near them.
I've said sorry to like plants
because I've walked past them for life
it's such an English thing
just like apologised to everything
Oh, is it?
Woo!
Wow!
Okay, no comment.
This feels like it's coming from a place
of experience, Keish. Do you want to talk us through it?
I feel like a lot of Canadians say sorry
and I never heard really English.
Really?
Neither have I, to be honest.
We're like famous for apologising to have...
Why are you saying sorry for?
Why are you saying sorry for?
Why apologising for?
This is very quickly become an English accent challenge and I like it.
Sorry, so bad, though.
No, it's fine.
You could probably do a better English world.
It's happening girl, you're all right.
Is there any, like, English slang that either of you have picked up?
Or, like...
English means.
English means.
English means.
What, but is it?
Is it...
Boxy?
Boxy?
That's boxy.
Is that...
I've never once said anybody say that but I like it.
I don't know.
It's all these words.
I was like, I don't know.
Peng, peng.
Yeah.
Peng comes up quite a lot.
Peng.
Because obviously you've got teammate Livia Payne.
But what is that, what does it mean?
What's Peng?
It's like fit or like good looking.
Like, oh, he's peng.
But I don't think people say it in real life.
Bloak.
Bloak, yeah.
That's a great word.
My favorite one to teach everyone,
because we've got our own set of like made up words essentially up north my favorite one's
Mardi like if someone's in a bad mood or they're like a little bit aggy you're like what you're
being Mardi for oh my I'm a hearty I haven't heard that one before it's a great one why I've been
Mardi for there you go using it in the right context and everything straight on there I like it
I like that one and we say Nesh as well like if if you're like a bit cold in the house
and you like need to put a hoodie on you go on a bit nash oh
I'm never cold in my house.
What's that like?
I'm always cold. I could never do that.
Do you run hot naturally or?
No, I turn up the temperature in my house.
Do you know, the way that pause was before that,
I really thought you were about to drop some like heavy law on me.
It's like, nah, I just turn my heating on.
I'm too tight to turn my heating on.
I don't want to spend
the money
something I spend money for
like being cold in my house
is
that's uncomfortable
see I agree with you
some things you do need to spend money on
my money is investing in good bread
bread
yeah
because cheap bread's just not it
like if I'm going to get fancy
about anything
it's a good bread
yeah good bread is good bread
yeah like a nice little sourdough
that's what we want
heading
heading back into
football towards the end of this podcast.
Ellie, you're about to head off to the Asian Cup.
How are you in the Tilly's feeling for it?
Yeah, it's a big tournament for us.
It's obviously the qualifiers for the World Cup.
It only comes around every four years, so it's quite a big tournament,
and we haven't won for a while.
We lost the last two, so this year is probably kind of the year for us to hopefully
get that silverware, and I think we have the team to do it.
So it's also in Australia.
So another home soil tournament, which obviously we saw what happened after the World Cup in Australia in 2020.
So really excited to have another tournament there.
Yeah.
What does it mean to represent your country at a tournament like that?
Because I think the closest I've come to represent in anything is I did sports day at school?
Like I can't comprehend what it must be like to represent your country.
What is that like?
Yeah.
It's always been a dream of mine obviously to play for Australia.
but representing, yeah, your country every time is, yeah, feels surreal and I never take it for granted.
Every game, like, you never know when it could be your last.
And so I always, yeah, take the opportunity with both hands and to have a tournament on home.
So I feel, yeah, just really lucky and grateful.
Then obviously also my family and friends can be there, which is quite rare, so that's nice.
Yeah, you're looking forward to going back out there and spending more time with them.
Yeah, and also for them to get a chance to watch me play because,
It's quite hard for them to watch me play over in Europe.
Obviously, they're very far away.
So, yeah, the rare chance they get to see me, it's nice.
Do they manage to catch many of the Chelsea games overseas?
Yeah, I think they wake up at, like, the time.
Sometimes it's at, like, 3am or 4 a.m., so I'm like, don't bother waking up.
But I think they do, so that's cute.
They're always watching and supporting from far.
That's really sweet.
Looking ahead to the rest of the season, how do you both support each other and the team
when things are getting busier and more intense as the season progresses?
says each other as in like whole team all of the above i think key thing is to being positive and just
trying to have a positive attitude like going into training because i know the games are going to get more
and people are just going to get tired and i think i think it's the level starts to drop so if we just
keep encouraging each other and just being positive i think it helps keep the mood up instead of going
downwards. Yeah, I agree. I'm like, yep, that's great. Keish, what are you looking forward to
most as you get back to full fitness and get back integrating with the team full time again?
Just putting on that jersey, suiting up my boots, ready to play a match or even be on the bench,
be just around the team during a match, during game day, traveling, stuff like that.
Yeah, I can imagine being away from it for so long.
You want to sink your teeth back into it.
Yeah, I think that's just my next step.
I feel like I've been training with the team for a little bit now,
so I feel like I'm ready to just go for it.
Yeah.
Well, thank you both so much for joining us today.
It's been really lovely to chat to your both.
And go enjoy picking Louis up.
Thanks.
We want to hear what Louis's first day at Daycare was like.
But yeah, thank you guys so much.
Thank you.
Thank you, much.
Thank you.
Thank you.
