Are we the first ones?
You are.
Nice.
Yeah.
This is We are Chelsea, the official podcast of Chelsea Women,
brought to you in association with Skoda,
the official car partner of Chelsea women and proud supporters of women's sport.
I'm Kazda Mores, and I'm delighted to be back for the second season of the podcast.
Once again, we're taking you behind the scenes.
at the club and getting you closer to the players.
So every week, I'll be speaking in-depth to the players and coaches.
And today, I'm delighted to be joined by Dutch International midfielder, Vika
Captain and newly capped England forward, Aggie Beaver Jones.
Beaker is back at Chelsea after spending last season on loan with FC20
and playing almost every minute of their Dutch League title winning campaign.
Aggie also had a breakthrough season on the pitch,
ending it as the second highest scorer of the Blues with 13 goals.
So what a way to kick off our season.
This is We Are Chelsea with Vika Captime and Aggie Beaver Jones.
Wickey and Aggie, welcome to the podcast.
Well, Aggie, welcome back to the podcast.
Wiki, this is your first time when we are Chelsea.
What can she expect, Aggie?
A good time.
You enjoy it for sure.
I am enjoying it.
She's really excited about it.
I'm really excited about it.
excited. Good. You should be excited. This is the first episode of season two. Wow. You should be
honored. Yeah, I am. A little bit exciting. A little bit. Well, I want to know all about preseason.
Because you went on tour. We were following you on social media. It looked incredible and like you had the
best time. Tell me about it. Yeah, it was amazing. We had a really good time. So I was new.
So yeah. Yeah, I was a little bit nervous to go because I don't know.
know anybody so uh america was maybe really good because i get to know everyone also outside of
football and not inside of football the whole time so that was really nice and i see that you all got
bracelets what does your bracelet say my bracelets is uh family and uh the first letters of my
yeah of my mom dad my two brothers and my dog so what's your dog's name nala nala yeah from
I was like the Latin King.
Yeah.
Was that your favorite Disney movie or something?
Yeah, it was.
Does she look, does he or she look like Nala?
No, don't really.
It's a border collie.
So, okay.
But no, no, it was a good movie.
So I was thinking, yeah, Nala, really nice name.
It is a nice name.
Thank you.
What did you?
I mean, you're not wearing it now.
I'm annoyed now.
Sorry.
Yeah.
The one day I haven't put it on us off.
What did you get?
Um, I got a bit excited, didn't I took quite a few.
But I had, I think I had, I had.
We had to all write and something that meant something towards, to us, didn't he?
So you had family.
I think I had Believe.
But it was a really, really cool day.
That was the day we were in New York, wasn't it?
Yeah.
It was really cool.
And you've just spent 10 days bonding.
Now, I mean, everyone knows you as Vika, but you've told me to call you Wiki.
So I'm going to call you Wiki because that's your nickname.
In case everyone listening is going, why is she missed Pouts?
Aggie, describe Wiki for the fans who don't know her yet.
Oh, you've just got 10 days.
On and off the pitch.
Both.
On the pitch and off the pitch.
On the pitch, I'd say,
oh, I'd have to compliment you now.
No, I'd say she's a very technically good player.
I think it's been so refreshing to have a young player who you've only just turned 19, haven't you?
Who's so brave to get on the ball,
especially as a defensive midfielder, like obviously Vika gets the ball in the edge of the box
and can turn under pressure and find, yeah, exceptional balls.
I say her vision is, yeah.
incredible, especially for someone as young as she is, and she carries herself immensely well
on the pitch. But, yeah, off the pitch, she's a funny girl, I think, yeah, so many memories
made in America of her just, like, obviously good ones. I think there was one when we were at the
basketball game, and she had to have a whole bit. Yeah, she had a T-shirt Canon, and she shot it
into the crowd, and I think that the picture was too high, so I was like, she nearly fell over.
But that was definitely a highlight for me.
But no, off the pitch, you're like, yeah, charismatic.
You're up for a laugh.
And, yeah, no, she's a good friend.
So it'll be nice to kind of spend the next few years together and, yeah, grow up together.
That's true.
You're the young too.
So it's really nice to be here with her.
Aggie, we took your phone off you when you came in.
But there's a picture that we happened to see.
Can I see it?
Yes, of course.
I mean, so this was obviously when we went, well, not firstly.
it was my first time on business class.
So me and Lucy, I think I'm Vickers as well, actually.
So we were obviously like, this is crazy.
I've never experienced, like I'm used to sitting like sardines at the back.
And Vika, I think you enjoyed the bed a lot, didn't you?
So Vika, I went to the toilet halfway through the flight.
Oh, where's it gone?
But do you sometimes feel like you want to enjoy the fact that you can sleep on the plane and be rested?
But you also want to stay awake and get all the other benefits.
Yeah, I missed dinner on the way back and I was, no, breakfast.
And I was so.
Oh, the breakfast was really good.
It was pancakes.
Yeah. They were really good.
Anyway, this is the picture.
She's copped out.
And her little teddy was one.
Yeah.
I always bring this with me.
Oh, Wiki, you look so cute.
She was really, like, peaceful.
I really had to stop myself from waking you up.
That was cute.
I love that.
So you missed breakfast.
Yeah.
When you wake up, why didn't you just say, can I have my breakfast?
I think we were literally landing.
I think me and Lucy, we slept from, literally take off.
Me too.
Yeah.
I've done that.
Because it was in the night, yeah.
We fly back in the night.
So I was a bit annoyed.
I did miss the...
Would you have wanted them to wake you up?
No.
I would say yes, because they were really good.
Because they were pancakes.
She's just trying to make you so much on the pancakes.
I'm joking.
Well, I'm excited that you got to travel business.
Hopefully lots more business class flights.
It was quite interesting that the fans were calling you guys
SideQuest FC because of all the activities.
It was like, are they going to play?
any football. Did you guys enjoy that though? Because it is meant to be bonding time.
Yeah, definitely. I think especially as well in preseason before the season gets so busy,
especially being in, yeah, four competitions. I think Vika said it, but to kind of get that
like bonding when you don't really get it so much in season because we're so busy. And I think
it was so nice to get to know people. Obviously, Vika, yeah, she's new and coming into a team with
a lot of players. And yeah, you get to get to know people a bit differently. And obviously, we played so
many yeah it did so many strange things from like table tennis with flip flops to uno flip yeah
uno flip yeah i just think it's so good to kind of unite the team and yeah get to know everyone
same with the coaches get to know sonya and cammy and teo and yeah exactly yeah it was a great time
wasn't it yeah it was really good and yeah it's important to be outside of the field to get you know
to get know each other so no it was really good you were ringing the bell at a stock exchange time
square it looked like the best holiday was there an activity that you did that you guys loved the
most time square in the evening there was not really an activity but i like yeah that was really
cool especially it was your first time in new york yeah yeah it was your first time in new york yeah
i've never been out of your oh yeah at the world's got but okay otherwise no so it was really cool
i liked it can you tell me what the fans were like when you were out in america yeah no it was
really cool it was there were a lot of Chelsea fans at the games so that was really nice so yeah
I wasn't expecting that but in America there were a lot of Chelsea fans so that was really cool
and just yeah yeah to play their games in such as stadiums in America yeah it was a really honor
and Wiki what were you expecting before you went on tour from the team because as you say you
didn't know the girls so what did you think it would be like and having been on the tour
and bonded with all of them, what is it like?
And how does it compare?
Yeah, that's a difficult one.
Sorry, I've been a bit on the spot.
No, no, that's, it's good.
It's good for my English.
Yeah, I wasn't expecting a thing.
I'm just quite, go with the flow, just see what it, what it will be.
And I was a little bit scary because I didn't know, I didn't know anyone.
So, but no, they were really warm.
It was a really warm.
warm welcome. In America it felt like a little family. Like we were with each other. We did
play games. We did a lot outside of the field. And yeah, I was before the tour thinking maybe
I was a lot in my room, but I think I spent only the nights when I was sleeping in my room.
So that was really, yeah, it was really nice. I loved it. Did you have an initiation? What is an
initiation? The song you sung. You remember when we saw? Oh, Hakuna Matata.
Yeah, I'm saying Okuna Matata.
You have to tell them that a story, though.
I sung it with Lucy Watson and Alejandra.
So, no, yeah, it was fun.
We did a practice at a swimming pool.
And we were like, yeah, I was thinking like,
wait, maybe we can do Okuna Matata.
So, no, yeah, it was really nice.
You really do like the Lion King.
Yes, she does.
I do.
I've got a tattoo as well, no.
Oh, yeah, I have a tattoo as well.
Of the Lion King?
No, not of the Lion King.
lion of course not just a little leather of course not of course not let me see oh you've
literally got a tattoo of hakuna matata yeah she loves it what does it mean just because i was young
and it was going really fast just enjoy the things and just embrace it and yeah look i thought you
were going to say it means no worries yeah but it was a good one it means no worries it does
I love that.
Did you guys expect them to sing a Lion King Disney song?
Well, to be fair.
There were a lot of funny.
There were a lot of funny ones and they did a really good job.
But I think obviously, so where we were staying in the hotel, we had a pool.
And us for me, you, Lucy and Alejandra were all there.
And obviously they were practicing and I've done my initiation.
So I was just in the pool by myself.
Those three were in the corner.
And they spent, honestly, I think you spent probably about half an hour, 45 minutes.
An hour practicing.
And they did it in different.
languages and everything. Yeah. I did it in my own language, Dutch and Alejanda did in Spanish and
Lucy in English. They put a lot of, it was really good to be fair. Yeah. So I had an, I obviously
knew what they were doing, but they still, they did a really good job. I think. Did anyone record it?
Oh yeah, we got loads of videos. I mean, Micah's one. Micah, Lucy Bruns and who was in that,
Nathanielion. Yeah. They did, um, I didn't even know the, a Wimbaway. Yeah. And Micah was like,
and oh no it was so funny i can't do it but it was so funny yeah yeah you've got a good little
voice on you that was actually quite good on yeah that was in tune no no no no no it was a good laugh
the initiation's always good as well and it kind of just like loosens up the group and obviously
you get to know people like myra as well like mario did a Spanish song didn't she and she was dancing
and obviously yeah yeah yeah yeah it was nice to kind of get to know everyone and just do yeah
silly things
yeah it was really nice
I really want to see the video
all three languages
it was actually really yeah it was really really good
yeah I love it I'm not gonna make you sing
although I like no I'm not gonna do that
you did get your first outing in blue
though against Gotham
what was that like
yeah goosebumps I was a really
honor to be with
yeah with this team on the field
it's like yeah it felt really good
I just can do my own thing.
They're really positive and, yeah, it was an honor.
Because I think what's interesting is most Chelsea players have been going on preseason
with Emma.
You kind of know what to expect, you know her way this year.
Not only is there a new manager, but for you, a new team.
So it almost feels like double the expectation.
Yeah, but also maybe just it is good because everyone is,
starting at zero also the place we've been with emma for so long so no maybe it's good yeah
yeah of course it's double but yeah no maybe it's just also a good thing yeah no i just take it
positive you have taken it positive yes she's done super well so thank you what was your but i guess both
of you what was your expectation of the manager versus the reality of being on preseason and working
under her you go um yeah i think for me like growing up
up, obviously, all I've ever known is Emma at Chelsea. I think obviously her leaving was
yeah, like obviously it was a bit of sweet for her to go on and obviously win an Olympic goal
on however many days. But I think the legacy she's left behind here, like speaks for itself.
And I think she left the club in such an amazing place from where it began. And I think with Sonia,
who's obviously won the Champions League as a player and a coach, I think who better to come in
and kind of feel that
feel Emma's place.
And I think I didn't really know
what to expect with Sonia at first.
I think obviously it's kind of not the fear of unknown
but you may hear things,
but obviously it's different.
Everyone has their own opinion.
But I've loved the way they've made sessions,
made us feel brave enough to get on the ball.
I know for talking for myself here,
like as a young player,
we're obviously don't know the game as much
as some experienced players,
but she's giving me the confidence
to go out on the pitch and express myself.
take risks and I think hearing that as a young player is such a good thing to kind of be able
to express yourself so I've loved it I mean I think the both of them cammy and sonya they
clearly know football have obviously both played and yeah I just feel extremely privileged to be
able to kind of get coached by them and yeah so super excited for the season to start
exactly the same I'm just putting no words on it no no I'm also like it is really good they
play football also for a really long time and not like in an amateur level.
Amateur level?
Yeah.
On an amateur level it's like on a professional level.
So we're learning also like their tactic really good but also like in football they know it.
So yeah, you're learning from them and yeah, I enjoying it also a lot.
And your home debut against Firenord, you scored, you got a hat trick.
You scored on the debut.
I scored.
I said so she needs to work on her.
celebration though that's one thing yeah that was really bad but i was happy so but what were you
feeling before the debut were you what how do you talk in your mind to yourself because like i remember
speaking to fran last season and she was telling me how she speaks to herself on the pitch and i was like
god you're really hard on yourself and she'll say things like come on you can't you can't mess up now
everyone's watching you just did this you've got to do that how do you speak to yourself yeah i know i was
like fran yeah friend has very high standards i think
yeah yeah i have the same i'm also really high standard but like after the game and okay yes
yeah i'm just enjoying it now i'm just i'm new i'm young i can enjoy now so it's preseason
i can make make mistakes right now so i'm just thinking also that a little bit but yeah of course
i'm just a player i want to be really good for the team like help the team a lot like i would be
really sad when I'm playing bad not
only for me but also for the team
so that's why that's
maybe a little bit of a
gap I can fall in I don't know
how to say like yeah that's a
gap that you can close with yourself
yeah exactly so
but now I'm really enjoying
and the girls are really positive so
yeah when they are positive I
can play my game
yeah I'm just maybe
kind of that and you must have been happy
that you scored on your debut yeah I was
happy. But I was happy for Eggie, she scored
three times.
A hetrick in 20 minutes.
I liked it.
Thanks, coach.
I mean, you did score a hat trick.
Yeah, you must have been happy too.
Yeah, no, of course. I mean, my little
niece was actually at the game and every time
she comes always score, so I say she must be
the good luck. But yeah, I mean, it's always nice to score a goal. I think
obviously coming off the bench as well, I think
kind of came my trademark last year to kind of come on
and hopefully help the team and
score and whatever but no it's always nice to score and yeah to do it and get a three times
there's always a nice thing as well but yeah just i think it kind of shows with how
the confidence i'm having at the moment under sonya and cammy and the trust they're giving me to
kind of go out there and do do what feels right in the moment and yeah i mean micah's assist for
the first goal was incredible and i just kind of had to put it away so but no yeah i was delighted
with it and yeah first hat-trick for chelsea so hopefully many more yeah and then two from two
in Washington against Arsenal
which must have felt also pretty
darn good
yeah always against Arsenal
but yeah no I mean
like Vika was saying the fans at the stadium
were incredible I almost felt like it was a home game
yeah exactly because we had so many and I think
shows how like good our fan base is all across the world
but yeah to win against Arsenal is always a nice feeling
and obviously Sandy to get her first goal in America as well
which is so nice for her and I think every you can see it
all our celebrations how happy we are when, like, new people score it's such like an amazing
feeling. And yeah, for her to get a first goal against Arsenal, I think that's pretty much
what you dream of as your first debut. And Aggie, I've got to ask, this summer was your
England debut? Yeah. How was that? Yeah, I think, I said this yesterday, but I think because
it wasn't in season, if you want to call it that, I didn't, I don't feel like it really sunk in
because I was obviously just like, came off a holiday and then just got called into camp. And I think, yeah,
It was absolutely incredible.
I mean, I've been dreaming for that as a little kid
and to have my family there.
Obviously, we're in Norwich and they decided to make the trip
and I was like, oh, I don't know if I'm going to come on.
Like, obviously you don't really know.
Yeah, when I got the nod on from Serena,
I was just a bit like, yeah, overwhelmed to say the least.
And then when I was doing a lap of honour at the end,
I saw my family and I was just trying to keep it together.
And yeah, I think it's just because obviously they've done so much for me
my whole career and taking me countless trips to Cobham
since, yeah, eight or nine.
So kind of like almost repay them with the success
always nice but yeah itching to get more minutes hopefully for england and yeah where were you
when you found out that you'd got the call up i'd just come home i think i had quite a long day here
to be felt like i think we had training and gym and i knew the uh squad was coming out the next day
and i thought oh like today's probably the phone call day and i'd been waiting not waiting but
kind of looking at your phone hoping and yeah not really knowing and i think i got the call the first
time and yeah i didn't know who it was so i answered it obviously just bit like hello thinking it was
like those window people calling about like double glazing or whatever. So I ended it. And obviously
she said hello, but I didn't realize. So then she called me on WhatsApp and that's when her
little icon popped up and I thought, oh my God, I have not done that. I just ended the phone
on Serena. Sorry, I thought you were calling me about my PPI. Literally. So I did feel quite
bad. So I obviously answered again and went, I'm so sorry. And then I think she's kind of, from what
I remember, she was just like, oh, I think you might know what I'm going to say. And obviously I
I was just smiling here to ear.
And at the time, my family went home.
So I knew I wanted to tell them face to face.
So I kind of waited and then got them all together and was like,
oh, I've got some good news.
And then, yeah, I think we were all just so delighted.
And yeah, just, yeah, even now I can get all happy about it.
I know.
You're making me a little bit emotional.
Just thinking about your family gathering on you being like,
Mom, Dad.
It's so nice.
What are the words that would describe how you're feeling?
We're right at the start of the season.
How are you feeling going into this new season, new manager?
I feel like everyone, and the buzz around Cobham seems to be positive, excited.
Everyone seems to be really happy.
Everyone seems to be, yeah, just fresh.
Am I right?
Yeah, definitely.
Yeah, it's definitely a new start for everyone, for me, of course.
But for everyone here, there's been maybe for a long time here.
So, no, it's a fresh start, and I think we're all really excited for it.
I mean even the security man when I first arrived
he was like smiling and excited outside
oh it's going to be a good day
everyone's excited here
super excited I feel like it's been a long off season
and yeah the preseason was kind of getting a taste
for the new Chelsea way if you want to call it that
and yeah I'm just yeah super excited
to kind of show everyone what we can do this year
under a new manager new people in the squad
and yeah super excited is definitely the word I'd say
and I don't want to put you on the spot
but I'm going to put you on the spot
because the fans are obviously
we're used to winning
so I'm going to say
what do you expect
or what are your goals for the team this year
and then maybe also
what are your personal goals for this year?
Well I think Sonia's first meeting
I think she literally came in
and within the space of two minutes
she was like I want to win
and that was literally it like
I've never yeah
obviously we all know Emma loved winning
but Sonia I didn't realize
how like
yeah she was yeah she makes it very very clear even in training we're set tasks if we're doing
a pattern of playing we've got six goes we have to score minimum four or three or four or whatever
so i think it is they are drilling into us very early on what they want and i think i know for me
i'm i'm at chelsea because i want to win and i think the history of the club shows what we're
capable of obviously going for a sixth wSL title but obviously we want the champions
league and that's why I'm looking at the signings of lucy bronze who's obviously won it multiple
times sonya who's obviously won it and i know for me that's the dream and i'm pretty sure every
every girl in a chelsea shirt yeah we want to do that and for me i'm looking at four trophies going
i want to win four so for me that's it and i think yeah if you ask every chelsea girl that's what
we want to do yeah exactly yeah we just want to yeah to get four trophies this year i mean i feel
like that's music to every fan's ears that she arrived in i'm just picturing it she around just like i
want to win. That was literally it. And every meeting we have, it's the winning mentality.
Yeah. It is super important. I mean, it's about the mentality. It's like we need to be confident
in the field, off the field. And yeah, Sonia is taking it in us. She's saying it to us. So, yeah,
it is really good, I think. This podcast is brought to you by Skoda, the official car partner

So personally, how do you work at the start of the season?
It's almost like a start of a new school year.
Are there things that you want to achieve?
Do you know what I mean?
Yeah, of course, yeah.
Are there things that you want to achieve that you set yourself tasks?
How do you guys work individually?
Yeah.
Do you set yourself tasks and goals?
Yeah, of course.
Yeah, of course.
I do that.
But yeah, I'm just also like, I don't know how to say it in English.
It's just, I don't know how to say anything.
But, yeah, no, my goals are like, I just want to help the team this year.
If it's on the field, if it's off the field, if it's like getting into the field in the games, it's like, yeah, I want just to be there for the team.
I will give everything.
And my goals are, yeah, just starting.
But, yeah, I'm also realistic.
That was the word.
Okay.
I'm also realistic.
I'm really young.
I'm just turning 19, four days of one week ago.
so yeah
happy belated
the
thank you
so yeah
no
I'm also
realistic
but of course
I want to play
I think
Aggie has the same
but yeah
we're in a
in a team
yeah
we're on the best
club of the world
so yeah
it is difficult
but
I think
I also speak for
Aggie
that we will give
everything
and when we are
in the field
yeah
we can show
what we can do
so
and Aggie for you
and this can also
be England
as well
yeah no
I think
if you have covered
it
really well
but
especially yeah talking for Vika again but I think as a young player you also try not to put
too much pressure on yourself and yeah I think for me last year I credit a lot of the success to
not putting too much pressure on myself and I almost was coming on to the pitch going I have
almost nothing to lose I'm not starting so let me just show people what I can do and ultimately
if I know I put everything out on the pitch then I'm happy with myself and I think I had conversations
with Emma going what do you want from me and when I'm on the pitch tell me what you want me
to do. And yeah, I think that's what contributed a lot to my success last year. And like Vika said,
we're in one of the best clubs of the world and we have people like Sam Kerr coming back
from injury and you might look at that as competition. But to me, I'm just delighted for her
to be back in a Chelsea shirt. Just learning from them. Exactly. And I think this quality of
training every day, I think the people, you will improve so, you improve so quickly learning under
different people. I think someone said it yesterday, the comparison from me to Mara to Sam to Mia,
to Kat, we're all completely different players
in the attacking line and you're
constantly learning different things of different
styles of play and yeah, I only ever look at
that as a positive and yeah
it just comes with playing with one of the best teams in the world
that you might not get as much minutes but you're constantly
learning and yeah, I know for me I've just
been a sponge over the last
however many years and yeah I just
want to get on the pitch and show people what I can do.
Have any of the older players
kind of taking you guys under their wing a little bit
or is there or are there
any of the older players that you do look up to, like maybe Sam or anyone that you're looking
and going. Yeah, I need to keep an eye on you because I can learn a lot. Yeah, of course. Yeah,
when I came here, it was like a really warm welcome and now I need to set up a pair of things
like outside of football and Millie is helping with that, is helping me with that a lot. So I'm
really grateful for that. Sam, Erin is really nice to me. I'm learning a lot from Aaron. She's
yeah one of the best midfielders i've known so now i learn a lot from her and yeah they're
taking me under a wing and i'm really happy with that yeah and what was it like settling
trying to find a house and do all of the kind of boring admin stuff so i remember speaking to you
and you said something about you didn't realize i can't remember council tax or something yeah
council tax no i don't know that either i was just looking there are a lot of numbers
but no we have like so many stories even when was it maybe like a week or two again two ago sorry
we asked four again i think we have a little four don't me me me lucy Watson beaker and Alejandra
we um booked an apartment viewing for Alex because obviously she's looking for apartments
yeah okay so we um yeah we all went to view it yeah we went the four of us and they were like
what are our four kids in here and and i honestly felt like the mum of that group like genuinely i'm
not even the oldest, that Alex is older than me.
But I just, I just called the map.
Obviously, I was just like, have you got an apartment viewing the next week?
And he was like, oh, I've got one today.
And we were like, no, like, really.
So we went there.
Alex really, really liked it.
And yeah, we paid the deposit there and then, didn't we?
So it was.
Yeah, and now she has the apartment.
And now she has the apartment.
So we obviously, we look after each other.
Yeah, we obviously have a good little group and we're always there to look out for each other.
But, yeah, I mean, I'm echoing what Vika says.
But Millie has always, I think she's known me since I was like a 16-year.
year old like kid with a lot of energy obviously buzzing to be called into the first team and
she's always kind of been there put an arm around me but then also been like you need to do
this this this yeah exactly and I think Vika covered it as well but off the pitch as well she's
always someone you can go to if you ever need anything I think that's what makes her such a great
captain as well that she's such a voice for us players as well sometimes you're not comfortable
being a young player maybe speaking up she's yeah so good for stuff like that she's really
comfortable and a very like curious question do you
you know where you're going to sit on the bus
on the way to matches?
No, I'm null
and I'm really scary for the
Oh, stop!
She can sit with me.
No, she can sit with me.
Yeah, I will.
There will be fine.
I know that some people just sit on their same spot.
No, but to be fair, we have a very
superstitious team as well after it.
Yeah, that's why it's the thing.
Because even like last year,
I think some of the new players sat in some other people's seats
and it did kind of go a bit like,
oh God, you're not meant to sit there.
but like obviously I think it's just people with routine and people like have certain things
but obviously it's a new season and you'll be fine you can come sit with me but
but no it's yeah it's just people were superstitious in the team but yeah do either of you have
superstitions uh yeah I am but okay what's your superstitions or are you two superstitious
to tell me about superstitions whoa that was a lot that was a lot of superstitious
sorry can you tell me about your superstitious yes before the game I have a lot of things
do you yeah can you tell me what they are um I get this from my brothers so I always kiss
this before the game okay um I have like how do we say it tattoo no no I have like things
on my um shin pads you did you like pictures yeah like no I don't know where
it is it's like just a strap
no it's not a strap it's like different
it's like when I had it as a kid so I
always put them on
yeah I have a lot but I don't know
I always put my right shoes
right shoe first on
and you always have to step on the pitch
with a certain foot I do that
to be fair yeah oh no I don't have that
but I always have like yeah she'll add it
no no no no I don't know I don't
I always wash my hair before
before. Yes. And I have to, I don't get that. Because you know when you wash your hair and your hair goes
like, fluffy. Yeah, it's like, fluffy. So she, she always washes her hair before the game. And I'm like,
I always do that. And also it's going to get dirty. Yeah, you're going to have to wash it after. Yeah,
no, I'm not washing it after again. But I just, yeah, she just wet it. Yeah, she's wet. Yeah, just like,
the sweat off. Like, that's fine. Okay. Yeah. I know. I know. When she first came down to
pre-match with wet hair, I went, Vika, we have a game later. She was like, yeah, yeah, no, I know. I'd just like to
wash my hair. I always looked to her and was like, oh, that's so weird. That's so weird.
But clearly it works because she's doing well. So yeah, keep it. Keep washing it. Keep washing it.
Get a shampoo deal. That's what I'm to do. Yeah, this is marketing, right? Yeah. Get a shampoo deal. Let them know.
No, I'm okay. Is there something that you always have to eat?
Pancakes. I always eat pancakes when I have a game, yeah. I don't eat warm like they do.
are you eat cold pancakes
no like warm pancakes but not like warm
hot dinner they always eat like
yeah she finds it weird that we'll have like hot pasta for lunch
she would only have like a sandwich like she was saying
that's what you were saying right
not before the game I don't mind before the game
but it's like every day they're eating warm in the afternoon
like
what? No I'm not just eating at
I always do in Dutch we do like
just breath
just breath
that's it
just a toasty or egg or
right bread is in like a sandwich
yeah
I thought you meant just bread
no just a slice of bread
no no no of course not
pretty sure all of Holland is going to be
saying that that's not true
no no no not just bread
but just not hot
just not like dinner
okay
yeah I mean I love a hot dinner
I'm not gonna lie
I mean it's English like
yeah maybe I need to learn
lunch is yeah but also in the morning
you eat like beans with
ketchup
I mean listen
wait was it
eggs and ketchup
was I eating
yeah I don't know
but I was like
eggs and ketchup
I was like yeah
that's pretty like
unless I'm in the way
that's pretty normal
to be fair
I'm not a massive condiments
person but it is normal
yeah it is normal
I've noticed it
because everyone is doing it
but what about porridge
porridge would be hot
what is porridge
like oats
oh no yeah
oats oats
oats is acceptable
you just don't want
a full English breakfast
every day.
No, I just eat my own shake.
I will make a shake in the morning and that's it.
So you have a cold breakfast.
A cold afternoon and then a hot dinner.
And then you have a hot dinner.
Yeah, but you have a hot breakfast, hot afternoon and a hot dinner.
I mean, yeah, it's a rainy cold country.
We want to stay warm, I guess.
Yeah.
No, it's good.
I like it.
I mean, it doesn't sound like it.
No, I'm not liking it by myself, but it's fine.
I'm still to be fine.
I respected for you,
weirdos.
But we did say this,
to be fair,
we said as a fore,
we're going to do every night,
not every night,
but every,
like,
other week,
you're going to make us a Dutch meal.
Yeah,
me and Lucy are going to make her
roast dinner,
and Alex is going to make us
like a pieella or something.
And we're going to do
like a cum-dine with me theme,
hopefully.
Oh my God,
that would be,
I was going to say,
that is such a good idea.
I don't know if she knows what that is,
but I'll explain it.
It's a TV show.
You must have it in Holland as well.
It's a TV show where people cook for each other
and then they rate them.
Oh, so we're going to do that.
I'm going to do that.
Okay, that's a really good one.
I mean, I'm not going to lie.
I don't think you like the Dutch food really.
I was going to say, I'm not looking forward to your meal.
It's going to be just cold.
Why?
Because we're going for a dinner, right?
No, you have to make it.
Yeah, but we're going it for like in a dinner.
Yeah.
Okay, yeah, no, then it's hot, of course.
Yeah, we have hot in the evening.
So what do you think you'll make?
What is a typical?
Dutch meal that you would make to impress your other teammates in this competitive
come dine with me, Chelsea edition.
Baner cooker.
Baner cooker.
Yeah.
What's a baner cooker?
It's like a sort of a pancake.
I am sensing a theme with wiki.
No, no, it's like a little bit different.
I don't know.
Maybe say that and then.
Does it have meat in it?
Yeah, I would just make a picture of it.
Yeah, okay.
Send me, send me.
a picture of your hot pancake.
And I'll give you a review of it.
That's good.
I mean, the roast dinner sounds like a better week.
I'm not going to like.
What are you going to make?
A roast dinner?
What is there?
It's so un-cultured.
Yeah?
I'll make, but you don't, did you try the Yorkshire pudding the other day?
No.
Yeah, so I need to get on that as well, to be fair.
Do you know, it really made me laugh.
Years ago, when Oscar was on the Chelsea men's team,
he'd never had a roast dinner
so I took him for a roast
and he was really enjoying it
and he looked at the gravy
and he went
what is that
and I went
it's like a sauce that you put on
yeah
he was like no I don't want it
so his wife went okay
and she poured it on the roast
and then she ate it
and she went you'll like it
and he was like what does it taste like
she's like melted meat
meat
I mean that is what it is
isn't it
but it doesn't sell it
but it tastes lovely
the sausage is melted
no it's not
no it's not
then I'm not got to eat it
no that's how she described it to him
and it really made you laugh you will like it I promise
okay I'll make you a good one
and the paella I'm up for that
yeah I'm up and the tortilla that Alex said she'll make
because she gets her apartment
Friday yeah Friday so I think hopefully next week
we'll have a meal hopefully meeting
I'm coming around I'm just inviting my
