Starting point is 00:00:00 POS. welcome. On screen live, my name is Andrew Jupy, this is our show for Monday. January, June, I wish it was January, because it's pretty hot here in the city, but not going to complain about the weather too much. January weather sucks way more. Hope you all had a good weekend. I was able to relax quite a bit, which was very nice, and I hope my fucking three best buds in the world were able to relax as well, so we'll bring them in.
Starting point is 00:00:56 We've got a lot to cover today, of course, but let's say hi, first up. him, it's comic book t-it-it-it-it-it-it-it-it-it-it-it-combe. That's right. This is the my enormously long name is blocking. This is the electric Superman t-shirt. Now what was that deal? He tried to fucking end it all by putting a fork in the socket. Well, no, he'd already died and come back. And then they were like, I don't know, that was a pretty big event. What else could we do? What if he turned blue and had electric powers? That lasted for a little bit. you're a fan of that or not so much? I just really like I just really like that's very nice. brings out nothing brings out my eyes. Uh, speaking of superhero t-shirts, I'm pretty sure he does not have one on, but he is clothes. Thank God. Please welcome Eric Siska.
Starting point is 00:01:50 Zardaz today. Nice. Nice. The heat is on. We're wearing sunglasses because Will Smith smacked the box office to life. dude, dude, dude, I actually, I actually am, I'm, I'm, I'm thinking, dude, dude, I'm, he's not, he's not applying for entertainment tonight. He's not applying for a job at entertainment tonight, but possibly the library, so he'd feel more at home, please welcome the bookworm himself, Chris Gavin. Chris, uh, hey Chris. Chris, we thought we thought we got We got it was weekend at Bernie's What? This is my weekend of Bernie's impression What? Hi, guys
Starting point is 00:02:44 We're doing the Bernie, Chris Yeah, I got to do the Will Smith The Bernie, you know, both slide with me, just slide with me Good morning, Chris Good morning, Eric, how are you doing? This is, we all zoom him to wake him up we're the alarm clock yes it's always
Starting point is 00:03:03 I don't wake up at 5 a. I hit the snooze welcome in of course our friends listening around James Harris Leisha Oliver sucked Greg Bufato Bucyrus 87 Andrew Klong Lera 10 Clint Rivas
Starting point is 00:03:21 hell yeah the chat is just just going just going love it love it so much WH I see Wiener I see what you did that's not shake. That's not fake. There they are. You know, I see winner. I see U. I see before. That joke always got me a little bit weird. Like it's like, okay. Could you spell I cup? I see UP. So what's that mean? Yeah, toilet camps, dude. That's what that means. I guess it's tricking me into being a toilet camp, a Chuck Berry type. Is he about to say it's
Starting point is 00:03:52 a watcher. You got buried. You are one of the watchers now. No. No. You're You're becoming a pee watcher. The watchers, that was the watchers. That would be, they just, they just want to watchers. I'm like, watch you do what? And like, they talk about peeing in buckets. I'm like, can I see someone be in a bucket? Yeah, totally.
Starting point is 00:04:17 We'll get to more of that in a sec, of course. I got the big review coming for that later in the program. First of up, of course, birthdays, get some shoutouts here. First of all, honoring the dead, honoring the dead on what would have been her 129th birthday, haughty McDaniel. She was made history the first African-American woman
Starting point is 00:04:36 an Academy Award. Granted, it's for Mammy and gone with the win. But she made history, nonetheless. So remembering her on this day. Is it better to remember them on their birthday or their death day? Should we do death days? No.
Starting point is 00:04:52 No, you're answering your own question by the tone of your voice. The death day. Do you want to remember the dead day? the death days it's the death days. It's fucking the death days. It's fucking every week. Well,
Starting point is 00:05:08 Well, Eric, here we go, here's some people who are alive and this is indeed their birthday, including Happy 83 birthday to the great Yergan Prock now. Wow. Is he for Judge Dredden that picture or I think it's either that or he's flying a plane
Starting point is 00:05:25 somewhere. Yeah, okay. He was my pilot to Texas actually. It looks like a judge six out of ten roles he had. He was in some sort of military garb. Usually you know what. Well, you know. Thankfully, they didn't lean too much into that
Starting point is 00:05:42 in Beverly Hills Cop too. That's good of them, honestly, to not really dig into that one. Yeah, that's true. Rock and roll legend, leader of the breeders and formerly of Pixies, Kim Deal. Yeah. Great Kim Deal turned 61. uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh,
Starting point is 00:06:03 and uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, Hugh Grant Pallarounder. I think they were married for a while, actress model Elizabeth Hurley. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. And, uh, star of previous episode search way, way, way back in the archives for the glass house. Lili Sobieski turns out. Wow. Wow. Well, look at this. It's ladies night here on the program. Happy birthday you're not no death day. Stay healthy. Stay vigilant. Stay vigilant.
Starting point is 00:06:36 Except for you're going to prok now. You can go any day now. All right, man. You know what you did. He's going to be dead by the time this broadcast is over. Possibly. We don't know. Oh shit. I hope not, man. But you know what? Eric, you're right. You never know. Time is a fickle thing. It's an old man in the twilight of his life. Speaking of the twilight, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, we'll see what's going on. This is high as gross.
Starting point is 00:07:08 Oh, yeah. Um, so, you know, not amazing gross. But better than it's been. We'll take a look here. at number five, Kingdom in the planet of the It's still going to see what I still I somehow this slipped me by is he talking to that Is that like a guy that he talks to? The bird is around it does stop No, the bird doesn't talk no He talks to the bird but the bird does not talk
Starting point is 00:07:47 Pissed off about that It's okay Yeah, I'm sorry to spoil it like that Eric, I'm sorry but this wrecked in another 5. It now has surpassed by war for the plan of the their domestic total there. And next week,
Starting point is 00:08:07 it will blow through the entire global box office for Tim Burton's 2001 Planet League. What a surprise. Previous episode and piece of you know what. Absolutely. Real fucking ape shit that movie.
Starting point is 00:08:24 Rewatch it recently can still Apeshit. Speaking of Apeshit, we'll later in the show, but let's let's just say the watcher's coming in forth on its debut weekend with $7 million. Not great. Not great at all. You couldn't delete this one for a tax break, pal?
Starting point is 00:08:41 Honestly. And Warner Brothers, after the year it's having, man. Why don't you probably delete some shit? I would love to know, I mean, aside for the fact that it's sort of a horror movie, why that was released in June. This movie's got February written all. over it. I could see February. Honestly, I could also see like a cool October weekend. You know,
Starting point is 00:09:01 why not? Like in early October before it's technically like the one season. No. Horror's been doing well like all year. So I guess that's the idea. But it kind of adds it though. I mean, there's been so many horror fails recently. I guess so. I guess because I just heard the first omen was good. That doesn't mean it was successful. It wasn't like ultra. gangbusters, no. immaculate was a no. We were just we were talking about some other there's one more I think of my tongue, I can't think of it right now, but
Starting point is 00:09:34 yeah, it hasn't, it's been a, it's been a fucking paltry summer for horror, even our Innavileant Nature, which we reviewed last year, tumbled like 70% in the second week. Real, real fucking bummer, but look at this shit though, so 7 million, everything is working against this
Starting point is 00:09:52 movie, 29% critic rating, 52% audience rating, 52% audience rating. That's real bad. This is a total disaster for Warner Bros. There you go. Well, that's what they're used to, aren't it? I mean, that's what they do now. That's the Zazloff touch, baby.
Starting point is 00:10:14 Was there a lady in the movie? Because that will sway your cinema score and your Rotten Tomatoes fan. Sure, there were some women. There were many women in the movie. There it is. Fairness, that's true. Still rocking a roll and proven that you can have two family-oriented motion pictures at the box office at the same time, if still going strong at number three with another $8 million in its fourth week, not too shabby. Somebody's got to get Lewis Gosser Jr. in their movie. If this is the last movie Lewis Gosser Jr. makes, I'm coming for John Kaczynski's head. is there is there. Is there? Is there? Is there? Like an Iron Eagle is like a new
Starting point is 00:10:59 Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Maverick. Come on. Iron Eagle, Eagle colon Maverick. It's right there. Well, again, only if it's in the can because he's been dead for months. By the way, we should definitely do an episode on Iron Eagle. Those movies are insane. It's like a fucking teenage boy decides to bomb. or whatever. I've never, I've ever, yeah. Yeah, his dad, his dad is, Thomas Howell his dad, whatever, the white boy is what I call out. Whatever the white boy
Starting point is 00:11:34 was, yeah, yeah, the white boy's daddy is kidnapped and he's like, well, I'm gonna go get Saddam Hussein myself's. What? And then Lewis Garsoc Jr. is like, well, if you're stealing my car, let me tell you how to fly this thing. Jason Guidrick, if, for those keeping score at home. Jason Gedric. Jason Gedric, Jason Gedric. I guess tonight is Jason Gedric. You can change your channel right now. And I have to what's Jay up to? Oh, he's bathing a monkey with a clown. Um, the cool thing
Starting point is 00:12:15 about, uh, I mean, you know, a nice hold in 24% drop. You can have to, you know, a nice hold in 24% drop. Even after 200 screens. It is. It is his last. It is his last. There you go. He's his death day new. I mean, I don't know when his death day was. Listen, he's going to get into another movie. Let's have some faith. No, he's been dead. He's already dead. His death days occurred. That's what I said. I said he's been dead for months. Oh, my God. Well, I wasn't listening to you. Yeah. I mean, that's what the real answer. Thank you, Eric. Yeah. I'm, I got stuff going on on this other screen here. You know what I was, I noticed, by the if, so we did, little, little tease for all y'all out there in, in viewer land right now, listener land, as it may be. So we have an episode coming up on Beverly Hills Cop 3, putting that out there. Now, I went to watch it the other day on Paramount Plus, and I go to the search bar. All I typed was Beverly Hills Cop. So up, up, comes, Beverly Hills cop 1. Beverly Hills cop 2. And then, uh-oh, if this is what they're doing. Because it's a Paramount movie. It's Paramount Plus. It's just like every search result ends with if. And then when you click on it, it's just like now in theaters. Like, of course. I mean, you have every right to do that. But man, that's low. That's just low, in my opinion. I mean, that's, but that's what they're going to do from now. Like,
Starting point is 00:13:47 they're desperate, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, they're desperate as desperate. Yeah, like, that's, that's, furiosa's about to be kicked out of the damn thing for good. And that's a great movie. Never mind if, which is a piece of shit. Uh, yeah, should say, Furiosa, by the way, uh, down to sixth place. Come on, guys. Why we will not be discussing it here. Uh, now, yes, again, the other half of proving the, uh, the theory that you can have two, uh, family
Starting point is 00:14:15 films at the at the cinema at the cinema at the at the movie keeps rocking and ass just blast an ass and it's just causing chaos you think it's like a toilet chair like that's just a bottomless chair
Starting point is 00:14:32 and the litter box is right underneath it I do I don't believe he even sits in a chair in the movie I'll be honest with you false advertising I mean that's the thing is you have to have the reason you have to have You have to have two family movies if you can't have to have to have to have to have to have to have to what's, uh, you have to do you. Uh, it's, listen, it's a big, it's a big summer for Sony so far. Uh, this racked in another 10 mill. It only felt 29% this has made, uh, it's, this is a 60 million dollar budget by the way. So they are completely fine. Uh, and it'll see things will get interesting this coming weekend because this, of course, is, inside out two, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know,
Starting point is 00:15:29 that was kind of a pandemic watch. And I liked it. Um, that was fine. Yeah. And I kind, I couldn't tell you much about it. But like, I've not seen any of these sequels. I didn't see the last toy story. Like, but, you know, I was talking about when, you know, when, you know, I started dating, we, like, saw everything. We saw Brave. We saw Toy Story 3. They were. They were. event releases back in the day. And then it's just sort of like, oh, I have no I saw the first one. I, I, I, I, I, I, I don't either. In spite of really liking that first one, I don't think
Starting point is 00:15:57 they've ever really, aside from a few of them, toy stories, I mean, I felt nothing in that fourth one. I thought the third one was a completely fine place to end it. Like, their sequel record is real shit. And so this, I'm just like, I'll, I'll wait, you know. Yeah, yeah. It's not something I want to see in the theaters anyway because I don't want to be there where kids kids are because their enjoyment bothers me. They have every right to enjoy it. I just prefer quiet theater. You know, um, so I'll watch it on TV way later, but I have noticed. I mean,
Starting point is 00:16:29 what was, what was the last movie? I can't even recall what the last one. It was the Enkanto? Was the encanto the last one? No, uh, turning red was last year or no, two years ago. That's a couple years ago. You might be right. Yeah. Chat, chat sound off. When the hell was the last. Yeah. Tell us stuff. I would say The second Incredibles isn't It's okay. I remember That one enough. I think it's been Since the good dinosaur. This has all been
Starting point is 00:16:55 For not. Elemental. Thank you. I see Warner. Right. Elemental, of course. I think the last one I saw was Wally. Oh yeah. That's a bit. That's a bit ago. You know what? If that's the last one, dude, you tapped out watching the best Pixar movie. On a high. That's that's, I know. Is that a George W. Bush movie?
Starting point is 00:17:12 Is he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he was he didn't put the iraq war on cruise control I'm just so worried about that little guy up in space he certainly did put the iraq war on cruise control Steve cruise missile control how about that oh love it all right wally 2008 oh okay just so right that would have been just a fresh obama. working on your working on your second decade. I'm impressed by that, I saw up. I saw up, so that was my last one. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:17:54 You're getting to your firm Obama. Yeah, we're in there, we're good. Your firm, ripe Obama. Michelle, I'm firm. Yep, uh-huh. Just let you know. I'm up, like the picture up. It's like a put a bunch of balloons on my Johnson.
Starting point is 00:18:11 That's a little better for me. Just let you know. The saddest cold open Thanks a lot up. So yeah, we'll We'll deal with it then. But number one at the box office Surpassing
Starting point is 00:18:26 Expectations, another big one for Sony. Bad Boys ride or die coming in $56 million. Color me surprised, man. I was... Yeah. Only a few mil... I think the last one
Starting point is 00:18:42 opened at like, like that, like that, so not far off from the opening, big franchise, you know, he's like a bona fide movie star. And now he's gotten, you know, we've been talking about him for so much, so long because of the whole wife mouth thing, you know? Yes, yes, also known as the slap, but yes, the wife mouth thing. This is, Eric, how about this? This is the biggest R-rated opening for a motion picture. you guessed it, upy, look at that. that's a lot, almost an entire calendar year,
Starting point is 00:19:19 it's pretty cool. you're gonna make it in this one too or not, not so much. Yep, yep, okay, good. Oh, wow. I must have gone to the bathroom on that one. Oh, Stinger scene, dude. Stingers. Oh, of course.
Starting point is 00:19:29 Setting her up to be Marcus Burnett's lost child. And of course we know that Deadpool will be the new R rating to throw this one as well. It'll likely surpass, yes. I mean, it's all like, this is all from before. These are before. These are before. This is all from before. I, like, like, like, I, I, I, I'm not sure if we're doing them anymore. Like, of that size. How can you ever match that? I don't like the movie, but, like, I don't know if we're ever going to get back to that. Ever. Match it. Match it in what way? Box office. Box office, for sure. The scope of it. The lead up to it. Like, yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:12 Everybody was waiting for it's just, like that. It's just never going to say, I just can I just more of it, because more of it is real than not Furiosa kind of topped it in that scope. I mean, I mean, yes, Endgame's a big movie in a lot of ways, but like it's a fucking warehouse in Atlanta for like a decent chunk of that motion picture. If you're talking about quality, of course not. I mean, that's bullshit. End game fucking sucks, but like. Well, I just mean like the physical scope of the movie, like you're watching more real stuff in Furiosa. Steve said, I like Edgame.
Starting point is 00:20:42 It's okay to like a movie. I don't think that's okay to like a But it's also No other time in cinema Has there ever been To 12 different commercials That are full-length movies For your big movie.
Starting point is 00:21:00 So yes, that's never going to happen again And it shouldn't Because that's a very tedious way to plot A film enterprise. Yeah, yeah, yeah. If you also go to space, I forget. no she does not okay uh and that's uh, okay. Uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, I will be buying that movie on four K in, uh, three and a half weeks. I don't, Jesus.
Starting point is 00:21:24 Tomorrow. Maybe tomorrow's coming out. I don't know. When, when is the max premiere, you know, I'm sure they're bumping the date up. Jesus Christ. Uh, but yes, bad boys ride at I, 56 million. The, uh, sixth largest Will Smith opening of all time. Um, oddly premium large format, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, um, uh, uh, uh, but I'm ex. I'm not in I'm ex. I'm gonna, um, formated about it.
Starting point is 00:21:48 I just like seeing big movies on the biggest screen possible kind of a thing. Uh, so I shelled out the extra scratch. But if you're, you know, weighing whether or not to just see it in a, you know, Dolby kind of PLF, uh, regal RPX sort of screen or just regular, you know, laser cinema projection, you don't need to see it in the whole McGilla with IMAX. I saw it was coolby. I mean, I mean, see it was a big screen. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's nice. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's nice. Yeah. Very loud movie. I see someone in the chat pointing out, uh, no way home did very well in, uh, 2, 2021. And because everybody knew that Andrew Garfield and Toby McGuire were. Because we've had so many Marvel movies that now you're nostalgic for like Spider-Man 2. You're the one from, yeah, 20 years. X-Men. That's why is going to do well, because now everyone's got
Starting point is 00:22:43 nostalgia for these movies. they've been going on since you were born. Yeah. It's been 20 years of, or, I mean, is it, it's 20-something for X-Men, right? Or is it almost 30? 24? 24,000. Yeah. Summer
Starting point is 00:22:57 2000, yeah. 2000. 2000. 2000. X-Men, 2000. Interesting thing, though, one last thing about bad boys. um, um, um, um, um, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, like, I, I, um, I, I'm, and, and I'm, and word of mouth and, and whatever.
Starting point is 00:23:21 Bad boys kind of prove that this shit is not a science at all, because for the Friday night, 72% of the ticket sales for its, it's, it's official opening day, uh, were, were walkups or, or bought that day. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, kind of, kind of weird to think about it. I mean, kind of, kind of weird to think. Yeah. Well, doesn't that? Well, doesn't that suggest that that was an older audience because it's the older people who are going to show up and not not deal with the prepay and not deal with the fucking computers and phone and all that shit? I mean, that makes sense. Because again, we'll, Smith. It's fucking Will Smith. And Martin Lawrence, I got to get a comedy. I think he's going comedy-wise this year. Right. Yeah. It was the first time. Wow. There were selling tickets on the television. And it was like, they were selling tickets on the television. The TV sold me something. That's pretty cool. I remember his one of his, whatever the stand-up special was after that like the health problem collapsed, but he,
Starting point is 00:24:36 had a really he had a really funny bit about that. That's I remember being like, Martin Lauren's stand up is still funny. I mean, there is the one where he's wearing that it's not a leather jumpsuit, but it's like a leather baseball jersey. And he
Starting point is 00:24:52 is sweating the entire and I'm like, that's going to give you fucking health problems, dude. Drink some water. You so crazy? Is that what that is? Yeah, yeah. I was the first one that really got him a lot of attention. I remember that, yeah. Yeah. It's a great tradition of wearing a leather jump suit a la Eddie Murphy and just like you got to do it. I mean, I can barely fucking
Starting point is 00:25:11 on stage. Those lights are hot. I don't know how these gentlemen are doing it. I don't know. Well, first of all, better shape than us. Sure. That's for sure. But just like, yeah, the willingness to sweat like that. I don't, I don't approve of that. So that's the box office. We'll see what's going on. We do have a bunch of stuff to review today. So we want to get to it. But we have some announcements. And I think one that we saw in the chat from our good friend Felipe Sabrero got in way early to make sure, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, was right at the top. Uh, so Eric Siska, tell us about what you were doing this weekend. Oh, my God. Oh, my goodness. So, um, I invested just some startup capital in a
Starting point is 00:25:49 movie theater in Hudson, New York. I, this is very much not, not my enterprise. It's, it's, it's my friends, Mike and Diana, story screen cinema in Hudson, New York. I'm helping them out a little bit and I'm excited too, because I believe in movie theaters and I think we should all go to them. Go to to this one. Yes, yes. Yes, New York. It's opening June That's this next Friday
Starting point is 00:26:16 This Friday, rather. This Friday It's open. And let's see. What are we playing? Oh, my God. This movie of the year I think you're playing. I think I saw the TV glow. I saw the TV glow is playing. Tuesday is playing Inside Out 2 is playing. They would not, they would not allow
Starting point is 00:26:32 me to play Kung Fu Panda for So now you're going to start And I don't like it I don't like you do you do Why can't you do a retrospective of film That came out earlier this year? It wasn't the past, it happened But there's also
Starting point is 00:26:50 For a little repertory There's Twister, you know, the 90s Twister I will say about that really quickly By the way, just props to Universal Letting Theater's book Repertory Screenings of the 1996 Twister getting people excited for the shit,
Starting point is 00:27:06 like Warner Brothers and that fucking good on universal for doing that. yes, absolutely. I know it's but if you're a horror person and you're in upstate New York next Friday, the 21st, in a violent nature will be at this theater. There are great
Starting point is 00:27:24 concessions beer. You can get beer there, you can get, there's pizza, there's popcorn, there's tons and tons of stuff and world class pinball arcade. We've got amazing titles there use promo code show an old person and eric will give you try it old man oh fuck i like that for the address and more information go to story screen presents dot com slash theater it is funny theater in america not in european eric's not saying he actually had a condition to putting his money in is that you actually had to give
Starting point is 00:28:01 older people had to pay more money. There could not be any discounts. No, no, no, no, no, no. In reality, it's just something cool my friends were doing and I wanted to help them out and get this started. I don't book the movies. I don't do any. I, you know, I write the chat. I just, I sit back and I say, good job. I love it. I love it. Very cool. Very, very proud of you, dude. You're doing fucking the Lord's work out there. Putting my money where my mouth is because I've been, because I'm not one of these people online going, I'm scared of movie theaters. We're investing in them. Let's go. Let's make it a thing again. Yeah, very, dude. Speaking of your mouth
Starting point is 00:28:43 and all of our mouths. It was the best transition I could come up with not have a ton of coffee yet today. But we are happy to announce. We have the summer. We hate movies. Live digital worldwide
Starting point is 00:28:59 experience happening that's right, get ready for this shit. your schedule. July 18th, we are talking about of the all-time action movies.
Starting point is 00:29:11 Holy hell. Philippe did a really great job on this art. I truly love that I was deemed worthy to be Sandy. I think that's great. Philippe, I do have to say
Starting point is 00:29:22 I am sad you did not give me the, oh, I'm cooked face. I really was hoping. Yeah, I need that one. I kind of was wishing I would get it. that's awesome. I will confirm. I will confirm that's exactly what my chin looks like. I'm never
Starting point is 00:29:36 I'm not what I would look like. That's what I would look like if I didn't dye my hair. Some of the mustache would still be blonde. Oh yeah. But yes. Tickets are out for this by the way. Yeah. You can go right now moment.com slash we hate movies. You can go there at this very moment them tickets are on sale. And sometimes people are like, oh, you know, it's like it's expensive the day of the show. early bird tickets you got no excuse. in now. Take on after party. We're going to be
Starting point is 00:30:11 after the show having some beers laughs. It's the same week the Twisters comes out so you're going to go yon-de-bant crazy that week. Everyone's when we watch the speed thinking about yon-de-bon anyway. So now watch watch speed and then watch us talk about it. That's right. Yes. So Thursday,
Starting point is 00:30:30 July the 18th, p. Our rad thing. Our friends at moment have made some adjustments. How about this? We know a lot of folks. You're like, oh, I always want to like get in on the action, but I'm working that night or I live somewhere where the timing's just craziness. Completely understand it. And generally, there was a seven day window where you'd be able to get that replay. Guess what? Our friends at moment have come through big time here. That seven day window has now expanded 14 days, a full two weeks, ladies and gentlemen, to get this replay. that's right john in the back room said you could only do it for seven days but we thought i was like john's like you can't do that that's illegal but we said no we're gonna do 14 days people no crummy crumbies only the good stuff yeah that's it i'm kind of okay i this crazy steve bit was much more crazier than crazy larry i will say this is much better uh but there will be no crummy crumbies on the show. It's a fucking all-time classic movie. We're just so excited to go through it. And yes, we're bribing. We're vibeen. We're answering your cues. It's going to be a really good time. Loser. It gets dirtier. It gets a little bluer. It gets nasty. And that after party, you're going to want to check it out. It gets nasty. You wouldn't believe how nasty. It goes. Yeah, dude. Yeah, it's close to the microphone. phone kind of nasty. We're going to be
Starting point is 00:32:01 we're going to be all. We're going to be we're going to be doing speed as well during that. Oh shit. Yeah, that's who's hard explodes first. Find out July 18th. Yeah. So there you go. I'm very excited about that. Also, I did
Starting point is 00:32:13 miss one thing, acknowledge the folks that participated in the Patreon poll this weekend as to where bad boys would line up. And most folks thought it was going to underperform Captain Howard's death tape was the category there. But Marcus
Starting point is 00:32:28 Burnett's put-upon family was the sweet spot. There you go. There you know. There you know. There you know. There you know. There you know. There you know. So, we got some stuff to review here. First up since we were just talking about it. I believe this is just a me and Chris Cabin. Bad Boys Ride or Die in theaters now, as we said, directed of course by Adelaal returned for this one. Chris Cabin, can I safely say that both of us was pleasantly surprised by this motion picture I mean it's definitely than the last one for huge and it might might be better than the first one
Starting point is 00:33:10 I'm not I have a two is your tops two is the top just because it's everything bay it's like throw it all in there he's just doing the thing I'm happy for him to be doing his thing are we ignoring that whole stupid team we set up in the last one no we're doing they did
Starting point is 00:33:27 a smart thing They killed them at the start They all got them at the start It was McRuburned side spot We didn't do that We narrowed it down There's two of them now Charles Melton is gone
Starting point is 00:33:41 I mean he's a star now After May December I assume he's just like No thank you I'm fine They didn't even say like Oh Charles Melton is off He got transferred I don't even acknowledge it No one cared anyway
Starting point is 00:33:51 On the way to his home planet It's just Vanessa Hudgens And the white guy Oh, those are the computer guy. Those are the two, I honestly, I honestly, because the first one I think is the first one, but this one, what happened? What could have possibly, what did they learn between those things? And the thing that would show what they learned, no one can fucking see. Like that's gone. Like the thing that actually shows, like would actually show what is the, what did they learn from that? Did they get something exciting? from back girl. I can't see it. But this is definitely, to your point, Andrew, it was definitely a hundred percent. I thought the action was really great. I think they really, Adelaal, have a much stronger handle on the, all the drone action, which I didn't hate the first time around. And I am not opposed to really impressive drone flight paths in action stuff. I think it can
Starting point is 00:34:54 be really awesome if used professionally and this movie nails all of that. I was bumming about the, you know, the non-myaminess of it all. Like, it's just Atlanta everywhere besides establishing shots, which is a bit of a bummer because with those Bay movies, Miami was just as much a character as, as Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. So that does kind of suck. But the movie is staying in Miami through the whole thing. We ain't fucking going to Cuba and committing a, you know, international there's there's zero paranormal although which shit is gone like oh yeah that which blah blah which which which which which which shit are you referring to
Starting point is 00:35:38 the witch shit which which which which which which which which is that the weird at the end of the oh I okay now yeah I'll be over here on first until this bit is got your ass I uh, I, I, I, I, I, uh, I, I, uh, I, I, I, uh, I, I, I, I, uh, I, I, I, I, I mean, I mean, Bay's influence, he's also shows up in the movie, uh, God bless. Oh, look, looking very fucking catchers middy these days. My man's got to stay out the sun. He's been in a, move back from
Starting point is 00:36:16 the beach a little bit, buddy. Um, I think this movie does a much better job at making you, give a shit about Mike and Marcus in a way that the third movie, because it's so obsessed like setting up that team and making sure you care about every classic member of that team and whatever. This movie is back to the two of them doing what they do best. And I have to say, look, maybe it's like humbleness coming out of the slap or knowing that like this was the shot to start rebuilding its core. Whatever it is, whatever happened to get will.
Starting point is 00:36:51 to give the performance he does in this one, the better because it is a, is a while the movie's not, up its own ass about the seriousness of it all. Will Smith is genuinely funny in this movie, in ways that like really sort of take you, he's got some like facial expressions and some deliveries that he's gotten this movie that I was like, haven't seen that in 20 years.
Starting point is 00:37:17 So it just knows how to key into all the things that made these movies exciting that that third movie just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, right. Speaking of that, I mean, I think it had to be on his mind while it was happening, because at the climactic moment, the thing that makes him get back in the game is he gets slapped. That's sort of, that's, that's how the ending, like, starts really cooking is he gets slapped across the face a couple times. Three times by Martin it's a really like we're not doubles. I had no idea. That's
Starting point is 00:37:56 I had no idea they would address it and that's beautiful. It is beautiful. It kind of you know because I think you're right like you had to do it in some way and the way that they found out how to do it is kind of the best way to do it. I thought it was very funny. They corrected also I think one of my biggest issues with the franchise in general is like you always get them bickering constantly at each other and it's like always to like fuck you. Fuck you. Fuck you. Fuck you.
Starting point is 00:38:20 you, non-stop. I'm like, the smartest thing. The smartest thing they're not is, he is not on that shit anymore. He is completely, like, he's positive. He wants to, like, really, like, enjoy life. They fucking take Teresa Randall away. I don't know what that was about.
Starting point is 00:38:37 That sucks because Teresa, the character in this movie has quite a bit to do. I mean, I loved how they basically make, not to spoil it too much, but they make Martin Lawrence become Jeff Bridges' character in Fearless. Yeah. It's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's something it doesn't have it's it doesn't have it doesn't I mean I've made fun of it here I think when we did the trailer reaction for it all the stuff with Captain Howard and the video like it's fine because it's very short okay it just it sets up the movie we're not constantly going back to the videotape or anything like that um the second tape like ah say you do you did they don't god damn but it's not no it's
Starting point is 00:39:19 It's like a, the first thing is like, you have to prove to me that it's you getting this and not the crooked cop movie. It's a crooked cop movie. Be kind. Rewind when you're done. Rewind me. But yeah, it's a total recommend for me. The fact that there is a whole ass Batgirl movie that I will never see. But I had to watch Ezra the scourge of the 50th State Miller. fucking flash movie. It's an outrageous. It's an outrageous situation. I mean, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, somebody up everything they possibly can.
Starting point is 00:40:04 Somebody needs to investigate that, dude. I think that there's, there might be a springtime for Hitler situation going on. I don't know, like, like, if I, if I tank the fucking, if I tank this stock as much as I possibly can. Can I can I make some money? Yeah, that's a good reminder. That's a, Definitely, is it It's a full-throat to recommend for you, Chris Gavin?
Starting point is 00:40:30 Oh, I enjoyed it. I would say go see it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, no, pleasantly surprised. It's a good big screen movie, and thankfully, you know, we're the fourth movie in, sometimes this shit changes. Like, it is still rated R. We are still swearing up and down that movie.
Starting point is 00:40:44 People are getting shot to shit. Really great action deaths and everything. Oh, um, um, um, um, um, um, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, so. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, he's back. Uh, it was nice seeing Eric Dane, like, who is not going to do anything but TV, probably for the rest of his life, just like, ham it up as a villain. That was nice. Give him a little something. Made a good movie villain, man, uh, I have to say. So anyway, yeah, uh, recommends all around for that now. Kick over, uh, to the other. We went from the idiot screen to the idiot box. talk about something that's just on television
Starting point is 00:41:18 Disney plus the new Star Wars program now we don't have any up for this of course it's not coming to be the next too old for this shit but we wanted to just give our first impressions about the first two Epps because it's the only thing that's aired we'll go to Dr. Star Wars to kick us off here Mr. Cisco I you know I was very
Starting point is 00:41:38 worried about this because I think Assoca might be the worst TV show ever made so bad did not see it I like this. I'm really enjoying it's globetrotting. We're not stuck on Tatooine again. Yeah, you, you know, I love, I love keeping it going with, yes, twins, there's always an evil one. There's always an evil one.
Starting point is 00:42:02 Yep. Yep. I like the Jedi cop stuff, the procedural kind of element of that, assassinations. It's fun. I've been enjoying it. Yeah, it's, I watched a, I've, finished watching the second episode last night. The second episode, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, , uh, uh, uh, uh, I am enjoying the procedural, uh, nature of it. I think it's really
Starting point is 00:42:25 cool. I think a menless Denberg, they give her a good, uh, opportunity to hear to stretch out playing, you know, the two characters, uh, May and, and OSHA, the twins here. Um, one, you know, is a enraged evilish person and the other one is very much not. And, uh, yeah, she gets, she gets to do two different performances, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, so it's cool to see him in something finally. Although I got to say, the Korean guys playing Jedi soul, like, okay. I mean, fine, but I, you know, I see it there, Disney. Right. Yeah. It's looked at a map and just wrote it down, I guess. He's good and it. I've been enjoying him in it. I've enjoyed the show, uh, to get a little spoilery here, just
Starting point is 00:43:13 if you're a little nervous about spoilers, especially in the second episode. We got a Star Wars suicide, that's never happened before. No one's taken their own life in a galaxy far, far away. I like that. I do
Starting point is 00:43:27 and I think I do like the procedural element of it. I like the mystery. I'm a little bummed, again being spoilery, that it seems like Carrie Ann Moss is out of this show. She was the most engaging. She was like half the reason I tuned in. I agree. Oh, wait. In the first series
Starting point is 00:43:42 It's like I get we're doing It's like I get we're doing a scream It's a little disappointing Yeah, I'm just sort of like I wonder about this show It doesn't matter but it kind of does This it takes place a hundred years before It was Phantom Menace 100 years, 100 years
Starting point is 00:44:01 It doesn't feel like that And I mean honestly Star Wars has never been good at that The prequels don't feel like that they're earlier Than the original movies And this just feels like it's just regular Star Wars time to be kind of cool to pinpoint that it is 100 years like, like, like, like, like I agree. Like, like, oh, you know, they're developing hyperspeed or so, you know,
Starting point is 00:44:24 right. I think what they're doing is just like, we're going to make Star Wars, just that Star Wars, you know, the same great product. But now that you don't have to worry about, you don't have to piss your pants about what, well, Anakin wouldn't stand that way or whatever, you know. I agree, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, yeah, you know, I think it's good to, you know, is Mace Windu going to show up? I'm curious if Yoda's going to show up, but we'll see. Oh, my God, he might have a little fucker. He always gets in. You know, it's a thing. I had the thought last night, especially thinking about like, yeah, it's supposed to be kind of like old in times and whatever. I wish they would take it. I wish Disney, this may be, this may be,
Starting point is 00:45:14 Disney, this one's, you know, set, you know, you know, before everything else that we know already, take a note from the Peanuts movie and make it look kind of shitty. Yeah. Like that Peanuts movie, it came out and I remember sitting in a Q&A with the animators and they said, you know, we didn't want it to be super polished because Peanuts as a property isn't polished. Like the drawings are kind of janky, those fucking animated,
Starting point is 00:45:40 specials all get out. And they intentionally made the movie look a little janky. They like, like, and it's kind of a little stuttery and whatever. Just look back at that 1970s filmmaking and just be like, yeah, let's make it look kind of shitty. Like it's too polished looking. There's no stylish there. It's like they had to check all the boxes about like the Disney Plus style guide. Streaming. Like streaming always has to do that. Like we get rid of texture. Like the most one of the most important things about watching a movie. Looking at textures. This is incredibly important. important and they just don't care about them for the streaming stuff. I think, you know, I like the first two episodes. I was engaged. I was following the story pretty easily. The action was all good. Boy, somebody's been watching Shaw Brothers. Uh, yeah. Yeah. I've been saying it for years on here. Just make Star Wars Shaw brothers because those plots are the same. It's like you're not doing the force the way my master does. So I'm going to destroy your dojo. Oh, God, now you destroyed my dojo. I'm going to go kill your master. I don't believe your I don't believe your I don't believe your I don't believe your yeah yeah yeah I mean it's it's good I it's certainly I'm still like the taste of Rise of Skywalker is still like on my mouth it's just it won't go away so like I need you go to the dentist dude that might be a tongue problem or something I went twice nothing worked it's just like all these TV shows like even and or which I like again like yeah I'm very interested to see how this goes like my
Starting point is 00:47:10 I've never disliked I've never disliked one of I've got to like maybe Bobafet but like I knew I was cooked with Ashoka from episode one to be fair I have not seen Asoka you and Steve are very smart
Starting point is 00:47:27 but that's the thing skipped right over it why this is good I mean the three I think the three best series I mean I'm going to count this so far we'll see how it goes but Andor and Obi-one I did like and what do they have in common no cartoon guy. No, no filoni. No, no faloney in
Starting point is 00:47:45 No polony in this. This is why it's good So far. It's also not pre-existent. I mean, like we've gone on with it. It's not pre-existing lore. Right. Not just constantly referencing the thing. And of course, I'm sure as Steve suggested, we're probably going to see somebody and it's probably going to be coming into that. I don't think they can help themselves on that level. Yoda or Chubacca, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean, I'd be happy to see, hey, I would have to see it, hey, I would be happy to see it, hey, it would be that great thing with, like, uh, you always see on the Muppet show when they're, like, throwing puppets all over the place, like that, just the Yaddle puppet just gets fucking rocked against the wall, those, all this four sex. Big handsome Charlie Barnett is just fucking plowing Yaddle. I think he plays, what's his name? master uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, he's like, uh, uh, uh,
Starting point is 00:48:40 , he's like the kind of, uh, super handsome Jedi dude that keeps doing everything wrong with the yellow lightaber. Yeah, and his name, Yord Fandar, where, we're, you're looking for the Shire pal? Yeah. Yeah. To the Lord of the Rings with that name. Yeah. Um, well, Daphne Keene's character is just Jackie. That's not, it's like Jackie Lahn or something. You know, I'm fine with that. Because it's like Luke and, you know, they just, yeah, no, exactly. We're going have a Michael and a Mick and a Jeffrey soon enough.
Starting point is 00:49:08 fun when they put in a regular name. But also, like, like, like, but also, charlie barnet's character there, it's just Ford Yandar, which would also work, you know, working in a car thing there. It sounds like an electric car. That's cool. Ford Yandar. I, uh, I'm excited
Starting point is 00:49:26 about this wookie, uh, this force wookie. Uh, let's see where it goes. Uh, it just, yeah, we'll see. I think it's cool so far. We did do a Gleap glossary entry on low, low baca, which was a force sensitive wookie. You can hear that on our and it didn't turn out so well, we'll see how it goes for this. Because now that I see it on screen, it looks cool. When I read it in a book, it sounded stupid. There you go. Now folks at home, I know we have a lot of talented fans out there and everything. I said this to you guys last
Starting point is 00:50:00 night after I finished the episode. Someone please get the video from that second episode and just the final scene with the put it to the stone cold because I'm telling you will just sink so perfectly. this dude just lumberes out that's fucking that wookie's music and he's just laying wasted dudes.
Starting point is 00:50:22 It was a really cool little teaser for what's to come. You don't get too much of him in that second episode. That wookie his name is Kelnaka. Cal Naka. The same dude that was playing Chewy, right? Jonas Jonas or Jonas
Starting point is 00:50:37 Yes, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, um, um, um, so I think it's that that dude is now like the go-to wookie actor, I think that's kind of neat. I forget the, oh, yeah. I forget the end of the, does he drink a beer and smash it on his head? Yeah, he does. No, but I swear to God. I swear to God, Chris, if episode three starts with this dude just like, oh, that was a lot of ass kicking and he's chugging some sort of space drink, I will.
Starting point is 00:51:04 count this is the great or if he does the middle finger backwards. cold used to love to do. A little fact check in the chat. Michael, there were inquisitors in the animated stuff first. Sure. I think they were also in the new video games and there's stuff in this that it feels really just pulled out of those video games like the droid like talky little droids that are attached to you.
Starting point is 00:51:30 Oh, the little pocket guy. Yes. That's right out of the video game. I will accept. a video game things, because I'm never about that shit. 100 years, like, like, like, I'll remember stuff because I like the, not the
Starting point is 00:51:43 Faloni version, but the, was it Tardikovsky? Stone Wars. I really liked that animated, but like, so I've heard about that lore for forever. So, but the video game lore, I'm never going to know. So, you know what? Load up on that shit. Sure. All that that. I also want to give
Starting point is 00:52:00 props to Mani Jacinto as cameer. I like good, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, he fits in so perfectly for that. I was a big fan of him from the good place. I think he's a very funny comedic actor. And he's doing a little bit of the year, but it's also like, you're playing kind of like a scumbag too, dude. And he, he's able to to nail that perfectly. I'm excited. I hope he sticks around. Uh, he totally ruled. But yeah, I will be, I will be tuning in, man. I was pleasantly surprised. And yeah, just, please just hear us let's let's do
Starting point is 00:52:34 let's do a fucking our lips to god's ear Disney I don't want to see Yoda I don't want to see Chubbock let us just fucking have this piece of real estate not beyond the same park property as the rest of that shit unless you have sex with her yes you could put your adle in there if there's a sure a fun soul is being
Starting point is 00:52:54 brought in front of the council you know who's going to be sitting fucking front and center yeah no absolutely wait what Oh, guys. Oh, oh, guys. Oh, oh, the kid, the kid, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, the kid, uh, in the back, uh, excuse me. Yeah, the intern, oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:53:17 You don't, you don't got a kid? No, I don't know, I thought we all had kids in the back room, a little interns, no, I birthed it nine months ago, ran away. I got it. Uh, well, no, the, the, uh, the, the intern just came and told me we got a special exclusive clip from the third episode. of, so we don't we don't we don't we don't we have to come out this. We got a little teaser clip here. Very cool.
Starting point is 00:53:37 Let's play the clip. How about this? So we got, it's cute up. All right, yeah, here we go. Yeah, this is a clip from this week, episode three of the acolyte. Let's take a look. Serveza grisal, a kid's fucking fired. You're out of here.
Starting point is 00:53:57 You're not getting school credit for that. I'll tell you right now. Your ass is grass. young man with these that's the new Rickroll anyway but yeah so those we should say not going to be weekly updates about this on here but we
Starting point is 00:54:13 will be recapping the rest of it on Gleap Gloucestry of Star Wars Story is that right Eric? Yes we you know we've done a wrap up for I think we did Asoka and Andor on the Gleap Glossary just contained within an episode about one of the characters featured
Starting point is 00:54:28 there within I don't know if we're going to have an entry for one of these people, but we will address this in some way, gleepe glossary, let's say that, five times when, when it concludes, absolutely. So look forward to that, Patreon.com slash we hate movies. Now, one more little review to toss in before we get on our way this fine week with Steve Sadek and I, we're at the movies separately, but equally disappointed in the Watchers. Plural And we'll Steve
Starting point is 00:55:04 We'll say up front Steve In a bad way enough to make this one of the years Anyone hoping for January Let's put the kibosh on that right It's not no it's pretty dull I mean I think it's really dull You're just in that little room for a while And then
Starting point is 00:55:20 You know a little bit of a spoiler Someone's like hey let's look underneath the fucking carpet in the room We've been stuck in for fucking eight goddamn months but that that bothered me a lot. I'm not going to spoil what the what the watchers are. is it is a dull just a dull enterprise. You find out kind of
Starting point is 00:55:43 pretty early on kind of what they are. The rules change a couple different times to allow for ladder twists to exist and it's kind of whatever I just it's and you have to talk about the depotism and Ishaana Naichamalan is oh, thanks
Starting point is 00:56:00 sort of, I know, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, like, I'm, like, like, like, like, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, it's not even that. It's not even like, oh, that got her a meeting. He financed the movie. He is a cinematography does a lot of her a lot of the actors. I don't think there's really great sequences of the movie. which is sort of a director for a director. There is a lot of clunky writing which is the Shyamalan brand but it's like not saved by the other pieces which usually it is. It's very weird to like direct a major like New Line Cinema movie. Oh yeah. At age 23 or whatever. Exactly. When all the other directorial credits you have are six. episodes of your father's television and here's another curse. What was that? She was she did. Which people like, I've not seen it.
Starting point is 00:57:04 I like the pilot was really good. This was cursed from the start and this is M-night, you should sat her down and been like, you gotta film it in Pennsylvania. That's the secret sauce. You can't go to Europe. You can't go to Europe. Huge mistake. And it's because it's like banking on the, the craze from, you know, the craze from, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, or like, uh, and it's fine, whatever. But like, it just, like the worst of M. Knight movies, uh,
Starting point is 00:57:36 it just gets so far up its own ass being concerned about this world that it's building in the mythology. And like, let's just go to ambiguity town. How about that? Can we just, like, not spell out everything? Like, this is, I sour on it more with each passing day at this point. I saw it on Friday morning. But like, like, like, like, 25 minutes of the most worthless final 25 minutes. What a disastrous third act. Like, the movie reaches a completely fine endpoint to which you could be like, hey, okay, a not great directionless, whatever 85 minute movie. Yeah. But then it just goes on for another 20 plus minutes of like another movie. You're just like, and you're like, no, and you're like, and all it is,
Starting point is 00:58:27 just really stretching out that explanation. Does everybody get it? Do we got to keep going? Should there be another 10 minutes here? Should be another fucking senior? Like, it just kept going. And I was like, guys, the movie was over. The movie was over. And just, just what a fucking duktastrophe of a third act. Exactly. I mean, like, hey, look, it's, it's, it's her first feature. maybe she has great stuff, who knows? but it's difficult. your first feature can also, you know what I mean? just, like a little tiny guy.
Starting point is 00:59:01 It's just, it's so weird to your point, Eric, that it's this major motion picture with all this fair fair. They should have, they really should have dubbed this guy in February, a little, done everybody a fucking favor and just not this big June release on, it just puts a huge, ugly spotlight on a pretty bad movie.
Starting point is 00:59:18 was it was it was it was it was it was it was it was it was it was it was he wasn't know and the funny thing was like certain that this was a universal movie even after seeing like i was making all the lower third graphics yesterday and i had like universal all over it and then i was like oh wait a second no it's warner brothers so i i don't know if there was a split or whatever but it also just seems like you know to the points we're making it like it just seemed like a movie that he didn't want to like let someone else that's the weirdest one's the movie if she had directed like I don't know a romance or an action movie or even like a full on sci-fi movie like then I'd be like oh cool what does this woman have to say
Starting point is 01:00:06 but it's like it's so similar to her father's work that aside from you know it being worse it feels like another Shyamalan movie and it's like young to be her own person at this point I will say, 23. I will say, I did think Dakota Fanning, it's, it's nice seeing her kind of come back to movies. This was an interesting performance. I mean, the people in it are fine. Jordanita Campbell is fun as the other, as the other lead, the co-lead there. And I also like the woman playing the older lady from Mandy. What's her name, Alwyn something or other?
Starting point is 01:00:44 Yes, I believe she's either Orie or four Ears it's a tough Irish She's cool, I think, she's got like a little bit of a grandma death vibe going on So that was kind of neat but just overall It's just a huge a huge misstep and you know I wish her no ill will I hope she gets another one another chance to do something And you know maybe just like in the funny thing is I mean Scope-wise, it is a
Starting point is 01:01:15 It's just ridiculous It's just ridiculous that Warner Bros. If you have this movie I have seen Shudder, I feel like that instantly adjusts the expectation for what the movie is going to be. And it could be a little more successful that way. If Warner Brothers is like looking at the, I mean, I don't know when this went into production,
Starting point is 01:01:34 but I assume we had already been seeing the Zavlov effect of everything going to complete shit. So maybe it was just like, We need somebody. Let's something to fucking to fucking, Let's something to fucking, come on, we need something to bring people back here. It doesn't seem like it did that.
Starting point is 01:01:53 No. Listen, folks. Another one on the board for Zavlov. Good for him. Yeah, we need as many names as possible here. We're about to fucking run George Miller's name through the mud with Furiosa. So we've got to get another one here. We can ruin. But yeah, it's a skip for both me and Steve
Starting point is 01:02:08 here, I feel. But that is going to do it for this week. We're hitting the top of the hour here. We got to start wrapping it up. The content is coming. The family is overflowing, just to recap from last week. It was Bobby Zemeckis week here at the Homestead. We had What Lies Beneath for We Hate Movies?
Starting point is 01:02:27 That was a lot of fun. And then we capped off the week with a good Bobby Z movie, Back to the Future three for We Love movies. Both of those on the Patreon in one way or another here. Now, we also have coming up this Tuesday, um, um, by the way. Um, by the way. Um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, and it's tomorrow, hours away, hours away. And it, as such, it is a reminder.
Starting point is 01:02:53 I have to fucking, uh, quickly eat a sandwich and then, and then get my buns into the editing room so we can release Dick Tracy. That's right. This was, uh, you know, the funny thing about this was I was expecting a lot of backlash from folks. Like, we can't believe you're doing that. So many people are like, we've hated this fucking. I was like, hey, okay. Like, we, I think we all come in a little softer on it there, but there was some real vitriol out there. So you can catch that, of course, ad free on the Patreon at the $8 level in Epic, but you've got beef with commercials.
Starting point is 01:03:23 But this week is jam-packed, y'all, because on Thursday, it is a once-in-a-lifetime month here on the Patreon. So we are finally releasing the notorious B.A.G. Brian Us and Green himself, starring with Nicole Tom, an unwed father. Ooh. Which is basically If David Silver
Starting point is 01:03:42 If David Silver If David Silver That's this movie Well I was avoiding that I mean but yes She did also play Sue Scanlan But you know This was in 1997
Starting point is 01:03:57 I got no idea what David Silver was doing on that season In 902 one That's good point Only Steve knows I'll never tell He goes to Oklahoma and bang Sue Scanlan and they have a baby and this is the motion picture. I'll never tell. Speaking of Dakota fanning, that don't say a word is to stay tuned. We won't be ragging on the late Britney Murphy, but man, that's a fucking bad movie with some bad Michael Douglas. Anyway, we are closing out the week with a animation damnation all about men in black, the animated series, which was. Ha ha ha ha ha, right?
Starting point is 01:04:39 All right, Look into this. I wish we could forget that this cartoon existed Yeah, that is what's going on in the WHMU So be sure to head over to patreon.com slash we hate movies Where you can get all that good stuff
Starting point is 01:04:55 But that's going to do it this week As always, thanks for tuning in folks Either watching live here Or if you're getting the audio-only version later And remember, July 18th, the summer worldwide, is happening. We're talking about of the all-of-time, great-classic speed.
Starting point is 01:05:11 be a whole lot of fun there. Do not think for a second, we fucking dislike this movie or we'll be critical of it in any way. It's going to be a lot of fun. The last excellent Dennis Hopper performance. Honestly, yeah, built into the movie here. I mean, if people are really crazy about Land of the Dead, I don't
Starting point is 01:05:27 want to, you know, get in your bad side. But sure. Yes, I think probably the last great one. But tickets are available now. Moment. CO slash we hate movies. Check it out. Let's do speed together. That's right. But that's doing it for on-screen live this week. Until next week, folks. I've been Andrew Jupin. Stephen Sadek. Eric Siska. Chris Cabin. Have a good week. Bye-bye. I'm
