What is going on?
One and all, welcome to W.HM's on screen live.
I'm Andrew Juppin, alongside Steven Sadey, Christopher Cabin, and Eric Siska.
We are here because we watch some movies, and we're going to tell you about them.
But yes, this is our show for June the 29th.
I am, I'm already sweating here, fellas.
I don't know if I'm going to make it through this holiday weekend.
It's just the heat or the pressure of minions coming out.
You know what, Chris?
You read my mind.
It's both.
Both things.
because it's really hot, but then like the hot, the hotness of those juicy little guys.
Got it.
That's the pressure.
Okay.
I thought you were obligated to do something about the minions.
Oh, I'll do something about those minions.
You can't stop it is what number one.
You cannot.
You cannot stop it.
You cannot stop them.
What's going on in the chat?
T.J. Gaines.
Nico Art.
I'm so Rachel.
Our good buddy, Bussairus, 87.
Oblo Mov, 81, Designia.
Hello, everybody.
John Cotaldo 82.
What's going on, folks?
Thanks for tuning in.
We've got the code man, one, two, three, four, three, four as well.
Oh, I think you were giving away the codeman's code.
No, the code man's bringing in the code tomorrow, as a matter of fact.
Yeah.
Oh, man.
Yeah.
No, it's just disgusting.
My dog was barking at something and I was letting her out on the balcony to go continue barking at the street.
And I just like a punch in the face with this humidity.
I can't.
Yeah.
It's been bad around.
here as well. I went, I had to go to the dentist
early this morning. I had to go
out for a little bit in between
my car and the place.
That was hell. That was like
one, 30 seconds
was hell. I had 30 seconds of, I thought it was going to be
hell. My fire alarm went off at like
9.30 and now I'm grabbing
all the cat carriers like let's fucking steal
ourselves and it just turned off. And I'm like,
oh, that's good. I'd rather burn
than fucking have to deal with it. Honestly.
Yeah. I say take the wrist.
Yeah, I think so.
Yeah.
Oh, man, speaking of taking risks,
we're not really taking many risks at the box office this weekend.
Past, let's get into it.
This is Highest Gross.
All right.
Highest Gross, of course, the segment will we bring you the top five movies of the U.S.
box office this past weekend and kind of talk about them a little bit.
Here and there, first up, yes, Seniors Spielbergo is still holding in with Disclosure Day in its third weekend here.
looking at 8.1 million
you know it's just about now
breaking even on the
production end of things
so
let's not talk about the production only
don't know
don't know what that marketing budget was like
I think the marketing budget was in the trillions
I think it's right
oh really it's right something like
$2.7 trillion dollars
to advertise that
so is this the most
a movie has made that has
a fake Jackie Gleason in it
I think so, right?
Because I'm trying to think,
was there a fake Jackie Gleason
in that bad
Nicole Kidman,
Ricky Ricardo movie where she was Lucille Ball?
Like did Jackie Gleason,
you know,
kind of shimmy in it?
I don't think so.
So I think this might be the highest gross, I guess.
That is my favorite.
Maybe,
go ahead.
Oh, I'm just saying that's my favorite part of that movie.
It's just like,
oh, you got to see these fucking things.
Come on.
Oh, dude, it's so awesome.
And like, ho ho!
Look at this alien.
Dude, I'm so glad I donated to the Republican Party.
Wow.
You know what, though?
I'm really glad in that scene.
There wasn't like a dude doing the Jackie Gleason impression.
And he says something like, so wait a minute, Mr. President.
Are you saying these things came from the moon?
Bang Zoom from the moon?
There was a quick little, like one of those talk of the town things in the New Yorker about Jackie
Gleason's house.
I think it's in, I want to say it's in the cat skills.
It's because he was a weird occultist dude that really believed in all this shit.
He's right.
It was perfectly circular.
There was no, there's no, like, corners.
There's no corners because of some circular, some kind of occult, blah, blah, blah.
Yeah, dude.
That's amazing.
I hope to one day have enough money to have an occult house like that.
Yep.
Especially designed ghost-free, you know.
or ghost gathering.
I think you could flip the switch.
It's either a portal out or a portal in.
The devil is famously pro sphere.
He loves spheres of all kinds.
The house would have to be designed by,
who was that guy that designed Dana Barrett's building and Ghostbusters?
Ivor Shandor.
That's right, yeah.
As briefly portrayed by J.K. Simmons in that awful movie.
Anyway, last note on Disclosure Day, I'll say,
a friend of the show, our good pal, Angelica Jade Bastion,
has written a fantastic essay
about that film that
really does a much better job
trying to put together
how I was feeling about it. So if you're curious
unheard Mad Women and Muses blog,
a really excellent piece of writing there
from our good bud.
Next up at number four, something we'll be talking about
in just a bit, but yes, indeed,
Jackass Best and Last.
I think Paramount
is happy that it is the last,
not a great showing at 8.4
million, you know?
I mean, but how much could it have cost?
Like, come on.
Like, I know there were some of it had to go to it, but this is as compared to everything.
Well, I'll tell you, I'll tell you.
It can't be that much.
No, I got the number for you right here.
It globally around the world altogether has made $10 million.
So U.S. and everywhere else.
And it costs $10 million to make.
Well, so now it's just that advertising budget is just.
Well, I think part of the advertisers is in a way.
Part of the advertising was the problem because like I was about to see it.
But then I was like, I was reading about it.
Oh, it's like a clip show, old clips.
Well, we'll talk about it, but yeah.
Yeah, I wouldn't agree with that.
It's a victory lap, basically.
Yeah, I don't think it's as bad in execution as what people were making.
I'm sure it's good.
I mean, I just, at the last minute, decided not to because I read that it was old footage.
Now, maybe it wasn't released before this footage, right?
Is that the idea?
Some and some.
We'll talk.
A lot of it was TV stuff that there.
now putting on. Yeah, we'll break it all down
there. But number three, showing no signs of stopping, of course,
is obsession. And this is, I feel
like now we have the weiner here. It is obsession
over backrooms because
backrooms, I believe, down to around
six or so, but this in its seventh
weekend with fucking
toy story and
new jackass and the Spielberg movie.
in the theater still,
week seven,
$9.8 million,
representing just another
27% fall from the week before.
This is crazy.
Wow.
Do you think Curry Barker,
like,
did a one-wish willow?
I want the top indie movie of the year.
I think of all time.
Yeah,
that's the big one.
Oh,
you'll get it all right.
And it's like,
oh, wow,
wow,
this is surprisingly good.
What do you think,
what do you think the Halloween costume
is going to look like this summer?
It's just a dude.
It's a loser just walking around with a one-wish willow, just a dumb boy, like,
and a dead cat puppet that he's dragging around possibly.
Or it's a girl at a big oversized sweater with like fake vomit all over it.
You know what I mean?
Like that sort of something.
I mean, listen, kids, get real creative with it because I feel like there's not necessarily an obvious answer.
You know what I mean?
So get creative with them obsession Halloween costumes.
But ladies out there, if you want to catch the eye of old Eric Siska,
you know, vomit all over yourself immediately in front of him,
and that'll just immediately, it turns on all the buzzers.
Some stuff just works.
I understand.
Yeah, so, oh, the other thing I wanted to point out,
this is bonkers.
So, look at this again, globally now,
we're talking $370 million for this movie,
has brought in around the world for Focus Features,
who bought the Global Rights.
So they own it in every territory.
Sometimes companies split that stuff, right?
So they own it all over the world.
All of this $370 million, back to them in a percentage.
They bought this movie out of Toronto for $15 million.
What a success.
That's got to feel good.
Oh, I was just checking.
The marketing budget was $400 million.
Oh, fuck again.
Stooped by the marketing budget.
Another bomb at the box office.
That's a problem.
That's a real problem.
Another just total failure.
Sorry, buddy.
Curry.
Curry Barker.
He's who did this one and Kane,
whatever is the other one? Okay.
You always want to say Kane.
I know.
Always want to say Clive Barker.
Coming in at number two,
we will also be reviewing this one as well.
This is one all four of us, sorry, here.
Supergirl.
Oh, whoops.
Wait.
Guys, I don't know.
Damn it.
I fucking told you to labor.
that shit.
Hang on.
There it is.
There it is.
Okay.
That's the Supergirl we were looking for.
Yes, a big disappointment coming in with a paltry $38 million.
This puts it below the openings of the Flash and Black Adam.
It's closest DC comp is the second Joker movie, which did $37 million on its opening weekend.
Whoa.
Not good.
No, not good.
Yeah, that's not. Do you think that they were thinking about doing an AI Peter O'Toole at some point?
I hope so.
For the fans. For the fans. They couldn't get it to work right for some reason. And he wasn't saying squirty. He was saying squat and they had to just scrap it. Oh, no.
To give you an idea of like what audiences are excited for versus what they're maybe not as excited for, the comp here to last year's Superman, which it's opening weekend.
was $125 million.
Pretty big difference.
But also, like, the obsession thing, I think that matters too, right?
You know what I mean?
Like, people are tired.
I mean, I'm covered in action figures.
I've got a fucking Green Lantern month.
People are tired of this worst shit.
You know what I mean?
Like, they've seen this movie 150 times.
It takes a lot to get people excited about this stuff.
And I don't think the marketing did a very good job.
And I also think the movie's very good, which we'll talk about.
But I just, people are tired of it.
your review on letterbox was the most i think uh i was like yeah that's exactly what i feel like it just
it's it's it's super superhero fatigue it just feels like we've been on life support and it's just
constantly with this stuff i i agree with you and i think it's really going to be now like i don't
think that the appetite has completely disappeared but now you can't phone it in it has to be
genuinely something worth like yelling from the rooftops this fucking movie's good or like
yeah at least his movie is interesting like i know eric is not crazy about the the superman that
just came out but at least that movie had a unique take on the character had a unique style to
it that is something worth talking about that is worth that is there's a good actor playing the
role there's all these things worth talking about i don't one of those things is true of the
of supergirl and i think everything else is just a complete fucking way
a time. Totally. We will get to it more in a second, but nothing anyone you said there was
wrong. But in it number one, still just kicking ass. And again, I think it is because there
is a Darth of family programming in a way. Toy Story 5. I guess you just can't fucking,
you can't beat these fuckers. Everybody loves these plastic fuckers. Another $70 million.
It's the parents were kids when the first one came out and now they're taking their kids.
I mean, really, that's how long this has been going on.
Yep.
Yep, it's bonkers.
I mean, we're looking at a nice hold of 56% of a drop.
It's sort of a comparable title in a way,
just like jugging up box office wise is Minecraft.
And at this point in Minecraft's run,
it was actually $20 million below where this movie is right now.
So it's really rocking and roll in 585 around the world.
That's $585 million.
Chris Cabin, you're the only one of the four of us to see it.
Caps a review it, my friend.
I think it's just kind of full of shit.
Whoa.
I mean, that's, I mean, like, people have seen it, have who have taken the point seriously, like, what it's trying to say as far as, like, screens versus like old, you know, play toy stuff.
Yeah.
I think it's kind of full of shit.
I think, I mean, from the beginning, right?
It couldn't have not been that because, like, it's not like Disney and Pixar or any of the company.
he's involved with the movie are going to be like, no, no screens.
Don't go near screens.
You can't.
Wait, wait.
But so then everything you say to do that is kind of like, well, what the fuck
you mean?
What?
What's, what's, we're, like, a little iPad.
Is that what you're getting on?
Lily.
Yeah.
Lily Pat.
She's right there on the poster, dude.
Look at that.
Yeah.
I thought it was a fucking frog.
I didn't know that was supposed to be an iPad.
It's the Lily Pad, which Frog sit on you.
Okay.
The screen in the middle of the frog.
Yeah.
Yeah, because that was always my, not my fear.
I didn't watch the fourth one and I didn't watch it.
It's one of the most inconsequential Pixar movies of all time.
It's a pretty looking screensaver and a movie that didn't need to be made.
I am an old man that is worried about kids and screens.
So I was kind of interested like what the message was going to be.
And I kind of assumed we were going to learn that there's room for everybody on the fucking toy shelf.
And that's not great.
That's the kind of my guess.
Is that the lesson?
I mean, more or less, yes.
Yeah.
Because you're right, though.
Because if they're not using screens,
they can't go use the Disney Plus app on their iPad.
They can't go to the Disney YouTube channel and watch the new trailer that came.
You know what I mean?
Somebody pointed out, Conan O'Brien's voice work, and it is quite good.
Oh, what is he voicing?
I don't remember the character.
It's an R1 of Little Toys.
Like, how much do you want me to keep in there of Toy Story 5?
I'm a old man here.
I know.
That's one of those little toys.
What are you know, what's her name?
It's Greta Lee, who is the iPad.
Yes.
The Lillipad.
Yeah.
Yes.
Yeah, you know, it is going to be a straight up when it is streaming on Disney Plus.
It is not going to be a go-to-theater for me.
It is not going to be a pay, an extra cent to rent it.
Because I still think that third movie has quite a poignant, beautiful ending to it.
And every, now it's twice.
You're just pulling down your pants.
with dollar signs on them and taking a dump on the perfect ending of that movie.
Wow.
You know, I didn't even see three.
So yeah, I mean, it's.
You don't have to.
You don't have to either.
I would say.
I still, you know, it's a huge whatever.
It's just been the, I just, it's the idea that we like,
Pixar has just gone from being the place, uh, to like get a new movie that's an original
idea for whatever, whether you like them or not, like, it's good that.
they had an original idea every time to bat.
And now that it's Toy Story fucking five.
And like we're going to,
I assume we're going to get like Monsters Job Fair for something next.
You know,
something is going to come up for another sequel.
And I'm just,
I'm so tired of it.
It's just so exhausting.
Monster,
well,
help me with the title,
but here's my logline.
Mike gets fired from Monsters Inc.
and has to go on whatever Monsters LinkedIn is.
Okay.
So like,
that's kind of the thing,
you know what I mean?
Is it just called Monsters Link?
Yeah, maybe he's getting catfished on there for like some bad scam job.
Oh, he's working at a call center, but it's like scam shit, but he's too dumb and doesn't know it.
Right.
He's making calls on behalf of the Fraternal Order of the Police.
Dude, that Patrick J. Pespas gets to voice one of the new monsters in the office.
That's like, this sounds like a fraud case.
I'd watch that.
Somebody just pointed at the, it's Smarty Pansom.
Sorry. Thank you, T.J. Gaines, 9247. It's like a, like a toy that you have toilet paper and you use it to like learn how to wipe your ass.
You're saying this is what Conan O'Brien voices. This is what Conan O'Brien is playing.
Dude, the fact that you forgot that. I mean, that's the craziest thing I've heard all day.
That's an important thing. You've got to learn how to do that. True.
I had jackass. I had fucking supergirl. I had a lot. He's got a lot going on. He's also got citizen vigilante rummaging around in there.
Still. Where was that in the box office? Was that?
number one? No, I guess that was that one.
Free to stream on X for most of
the weekend. I think number one rental
ball, right? It was really high on
the rental list. It was number two on Apple
the other night. Because I was pushing it
because I'm a huge racist.
Oh man. We will get to
that as well. But yeah,
real quick, some elsewhere around the box office
wanted to point this one out because
we dug it out of Toronto.
But Rose of Nevada is out now
on 11 screens
around the country. Cool
movie that I do want to just plug
to the heavens whenever we can. Right. We did
review this on one of our
Toronto Film Festival coverages
and it's good. You know, if you
if you're yearning for movies like
they used to be in the 90s, like I want to watch
like a film that feels like an indie movie in the 90s
check out Rose of Nevada. Okay.
Yeah. And I also like
go into it knowing as little as possible.
It's just three guys on a boat
and really weird stuff starts happening.
that's you know don't don't watch the trailer because we went in cold at toronto because i remember reading the schedule and just looking and being like oh shot on 16 millimeter it's a boat movie george mckee i like him as an actor kill some time see this and one of those great like you discover stuff at film festival sometimes totally by accident i was like oh shit this is actually really good yeah when i went in totally when i walked in i thought there's like a cowboy movie with that title but no it's in the uk yeah it's or some like bad bar in the middle of the desert just
called Rose of Nevada.
And I highly suggest
if anybody does see this and likes it,
the man, Mick Jenkins,
two first films, Bate and Ennisman
is both really fucking good.
Really just a whole filmography
worth looking into. Ennisman, speaking
of weird, weird movies.
Crazy movie. That one gets pretty much. So yeah, check out
Rose of Nevada. Speaking of checking
stuff out, why don't
folks come check us out in the desert this
August, almost in October. My God.
This August for STLV, 60 years of Star Trek, 10 years of the Nexus,
yes, we are going to be celebrating our Star Trek recap show
by performing three straight nights at the world's biggest,
most badass Star Trek convention.
August 6th through the 8th there, pretty excited about this.
First time we're working a con, which is cool.
Yeah.
First time we've ever worked Vegas, also very cool.
And the rad thing is you don't need to pay exorbitant convention prices
to get some badge to come see us.
It's all separately ticketed.
I've worked Vegas.
before, but we can't talk about.
Oh, yeah, that's a different podcast.
Yeah.
But yes, night one, Rathakon,
night two generations, night three, first contact.
Big old Star Trek love fest out in the desert.
I'm excited to just walk around sealed Star Trek fans.
We're going to be in our own little like IRL Trekkies documentary.
It's going to be fun.
I'm afraid they're going to, I'm afraid the Trekkies are going to be mean to me.
Oh, no.
I'm going to get bullied at the Star Trek convention.
You speak their language.
What are you talking about?
Come on now.
I don't speak. I'm not fluent.
I know little.
Dude, I'll tell you what, that is the title.
That is the title for your comedy half hour is bullied at the Star Trek convention.
What you get, dude.
It's a golden rule out there.
If you give it to them, they'll give it right back.
That's right.
But yeah, we're super excited about this.
Tickets are on sale.
I head to our website, WHMpodcast.
com to find out how you can snag them.
It's going to be a lot of fun.
all right
let's get into some of our
reviews here
some stuff we've touched on but get to it a little
more in depth yes
Jackass best and last
now I'll say I saw this
yesterday and
easily the hardest I've laughed
in a theater probably the entire
year and
you know probably one of the
times I've laughed most since watching
Jackass Forever in the theater
yeah similar
with me and it was a saw it yesterday
and it was kind of
like you know quarter full
of a house oh it was me and one
other guy dude at 11 a.m.
Just Cape Fear laughing
is that what you're doing?
Is this? Was this funnier than
Nirvana the band, the movie
the show the movie?
Just
you saw that this year's
yeah no I know and that's
it's probably like
it's this movie
Nirvana the band was the funniest since before
that and then Jackass Fred was probably the funniest
since before that but I mean I think for me
Nirvana the band I mean I was laughing all throughout that obviously you sat
there and were annoyed by my cacophonous laughing the whole time but
I think with this I've got like the history with the jackass
guys and that sort of played into it a little bit maybe
there's definitely nostalgia to it I think and I make
as you know the title suggests they are playing on that by showing
some of the sketches that they did
and on TV on the big screen
there's only like one or two of them
that I think have been in other movies
I think most they kept it mostly to the TV ones
that are now being shown on the big screen
that's a point fives and like stuff
that they yeah haven't been able to show
Joe that's also that my one beef is
I think that they show way too much from the last movie
and by that I mean like two sequences
are from the last movie and I'm like this I felt
from forever yeah
Yeah, from forever.
You know what I mean?
I was like, the Silence of the Lamb sequence,
which, you know what I mean?
It was such a great part in that last movie.
Yeah.
We just kind of run that one back.
And I'm like, eh.
But, I mean, again, I have nothing but affection for this movie.
It was super fun to watch.
Really funny.
I mean, again, like, really hooting and hollering,
and hollering, laughing, like, real big belly laughs in this movie.
Yeah.
And it's just, you know, it's, if any crew deserved a victory laugh,
it's these guys.
Oh, you know what I mean?
Like, that's, it's a nice little thing.
My wife had a good point because, like,
it probably would have made sense for the last movie
to be the last movie forever was such a big.
And like, that was my like coming out of the pandemic movie
and all that stuff.
And she's like, I think it would have been weird
if it was because of the pandemic aspect of it.
Like, this is our last movie and it's happening during a pandemic.
Goodbye, everybody.
Think about mortality.
You know what I mean?
Yes.
That's my wife's point, not mine.
Jen.
So, like, basically, I think it makes some sense
to have one more ride, even.
after that. Yeah, I agree.
I don't
behoove them that at all. Like, I don't
think it's a bad thing
to show someone. If you, if this is really your
last movie, shown some of the
stuff, yeah, I guess the Forever thing was my one
issue as well, but like, again,
like I don't laugh like this that often.
And like seeing, being able
to see the, I forget, they have a word for it, but the
box down the stairs that they couldn't show because
you're worried about people
doing it.
Yeah, what are they,
the like recreation possibility.
Like,
basically that like people would try it at home
because it seemed like such an easy one.
Easy.
It is.
And it is.
Once you see it,
you're like,
oh yeah,
you're absolutely going to do it.
And there are stunts that are them now.
It's not just all close.
Oh,
yeah.
Yeah.
It's like,
I would say it's probably 40% new or 50-50.
It feels 40% new stunts.
20% like actual just fucking around and hanging out having fun.
and then like whatever the rest of it is.
I think is the old stuff.
They should continue.
I mean, just die on camera.
You know,
keep going.
Don't tell Johnny Knoxville, he might do that shit.
He's just the kind of guy who might pull some shit like that off.
Here's a question,
because this shocked me,
and maybe it's in one of the earlier movies that I've rewatched in a while.
Have we seen Chris Pontius's hammer before?
Because that thing was massive.
Yeah.
Okay, we have.
It's been on a jackass before.
Okay.
Yeah.
Well, he puts his cock out for the,
the mouse trap of the snake thing.
Of course. That's right. Part two.
But the choreography that that dude has with his cock swivel and his hips, like,
that guy, if he wants to be like old man, magic mic dude, like he's got the hammer and the moves to pull that down, dude.
I couldn't believe it.
Both ways too.
Fucking latitude and longitude.
The guy was just really flipping and flapping.
That's also what really pushed it from a three and a half to a four for me is you don't get dick like this often in movies.
It's not like I can watch.
I'm not going to walk into fucking sense and sensibility later this year and be like,
oh, here's a penis.
No, I'm not.
I'm not getting a penis in sensibility.
I'm not getting a penis in Supergirl.
I'm getting penises nowhere.
Finally, I get a fucking boatload of it here.
And they're just like, here, take as much as you like.
And I was happy to see it.
And as much as a victory lap as it is, truly, it's the, it's not modlet at all.
Even like the Ryan Dunn stuff isn't modeling.
Yeah.
Like, there's a one sweet moment.
Preston Lacey kind of calls it out.
It's really nice.
But it's also not like, you know,
trying to get a tear jerker out of you.
Like people get emotional in it,
but it's not like actually going for that.
Because it's these guys.
They're very likable.
I mean,
I'm sure maybe,
I don't know,
maybe Danger Aaron was at fucking Jan 6th.
I don't know.
I haven't looked into everybody on the crew,
but they're really likable dudes
and it's really fun to watch them do stuff.
I thought it was also nice.
You made me think about this
with regard to the silence of the lambs one.
Like,
there is a really concerted
effort with the flashback stuff.
And what I do like about it too is like the,
them just sitting around.
There's a couple moments of them like reminiscing and just talking about the old bits,
which I think is good.
Yes.
But it really is kind of,
I looked at that edit as a nice offering of like,
hey,
everybody,
Bam will always still be a part of this.
And I think that's why that one is left in there because it is a big Bam one.
And it's a,
it's kind of the only recent,
is Bam one.
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
I really appreciated that his parents were at the premiere for this and like just being really honest about like his continued struggle and like the done death just totally fucking him up and like that's why he's away from this.
And it was just, I don't know.
I got emotional during the movie of parts.
I think like just seeing them talk about stuff and reminisce in that way, it's impossible to not think about your own circle of friends.
And we have aged along with the jazz.
back-ass guys, they're probably like, you know, between seven to ten years older than us in some cases.
But similarish enough, they're like, we feel like, you know, we've gone through our own gauntlets while they've gone through theirs.
And yeah, I was, I was appreciative that there was this moment.
If ever, you know, yeah, a deserving victory lap.
It was for sure.
This movie.
No doubt about it.
And also, I realized I'd never seen that Brad Pitt stunt.
Oh, really?
Oh, that's so great.
It's so good.
Yeah, we talk about it on one of the commentaries.
Yeah.
And we sort of were like also trying to remember like where it took place.
And we thought it was in Japan for a little bit.
But no, it's in Los Angeles.
And it is one of the funniest like aftermaths of a stunt like that.
You'll ever see the people on the cell phone like, I'm not kidding you 911.
Brad Pitt just got kidnapped.
I was fucking dying, man.
So yeah, I mean, it's obviously not going to break down the box office.
but when it is available impairment plus,
I, you know, strongly recommend checking it out.
The polar opposite of all of that, citizen vigilante.
I was tearing up.
Oh, my God.
Army Hammer's back.
I've been missed.
I grew up with that guy.
Lone Ranger was important to me.
I know that the Rebecca remake was really big for you.
I know that you were all about that Rebecca remake.
If anyone deserves a victory lap and you have a bowl.
It's you have a ball.
It has to be.
I mean, that guy has done so much for so many.
This is some movie.
It's probably the most racist film since birth of a nation.
It just might be, man.
It's fucking crazy.
It was originally called The Dark Night.
And I think you can tell that.
I think there's certain shots where Bull is trying to emulate Nolan.
Like it opens with like this sweeping shot against like city, glass city structures.
It felt like the start of the dark night.
He's like he owns a building in this line, this.
dropped. It's like he's Bruce Wayne, but evil.
It's, I mean, yeah, he's like an American.
Of course, he's like a veteran, which is like, man,
that's a real fucking stain on veteran reputations,
making this dude a veteran. That's fucking shitty.
And he's just like in Europe for vague real estate dealings.
Like the dude is clearly like a scum lord,
like criminal of his,
of his own making, you know?
You're foreign.
You're a migrant there in Europe.
You're not, he's this American that goes there and starts killing immigrants.
And, man, man, that ending.
Yikes.
Is there even like an inciting, like, you know, like a death wish-esque kind of
of rape murder?
Sort of, but it's nothing like extreme like that.
It's like kids arguing on the bus is his problem.
And he just decides to start murdering people because of it.
I mean, it's kind of nuts because you see an incident at the beginning of the
that's not something that's done upon Army Hammer or someone he's close with.
Like, it's literally, this woman is just walking down the street pushing a baby carriage.
And some dude comes out of nowhere with this massive blade and stabs this woman in the fucking
throat, Geyser City, just dead in front of her own baby.
And it's like, Europe's got a migrant problem.
See what they do?
And you just know from the first 20 seconds of this movie, everything that it's,
is going to happen.
You know,
you just know the message.
You know the fucking mindset
of this movie.
And it's disgusting.
I do want to be clear,
no one spent a nickel on this movie.
We all got screener links.
I just,
I couldn't put that evil in my veins.
Sorry,
folks.
Yes,
the public relations people
for the movie sent it to us for free.
We didn't pay for this.
We didn't contribute to any of this.
And we condemn it.
Yeah.
Yeah, exactly.
It's pretty evil,
pretty gross.
I mean,
I haven't seen it.
I have no interest in it.
but it is wild that the richest man in the world is promoting it on his personal fucking soapbox.
It's an incredibly dark place.
Yeah.
Who he's where he did he, did he ever confirm this that he put it on the app for free for like two days or something?
I don't know that he put it on, but I read a thing in like Hollywood Reporter or somewhere where like it was just on there.
So I took that to me and it was bootlegged.
Yeah.
I think the video length thing has been.
disabled so you can just put a movie on there
until somebody finds it is my understanding
I guess maybe retweeted it or something
Yes that maybe that was it
To his trillions of idiot followers
I've seen like just because I'm on that
awful racist website and
I've seen some fun memes where it's like
Oh people loved
One battle after another now
Citizen Vigilante is a problem like
A Paul Thomas Anderson
VUVB take away
Everything else every single
Come on
folks.
Yeah,
don't,
don't play it.
Do you think
this is the right
one battle
after another era?
Is that what you think?
Wait,
what?
No,
no,
I feel like,
you know,
the rights version of it,
I don't know.
I feel like
it's,
you'd have to be better
to be compared.
Yeah.
I feel like they're
incomparable.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I'd agree with that.
So that was
citizen,
vigilant.
I mean,
yeah,
honestly.
We all hated it.
We all fucking hated it.
And it is,
you know,
just to,
we mentioned it,
I think,
on After Dark, but like,
do not make this an irony,
Rotch with your buddies, you know what I mean?
It's not, get everybody together and laugh at it.
Like, it is fucking hate speech at 30 frames per second,
and no, just no.
If you are this person who just has to see these things,
I don't think you should.
I want this to be clear.
But it should be consumed much like an Ordelon bunting.
You should be covering your head
to say,
Save yourself from the sight of God.
Yes.
And watch it on your phone underneath that little towel for the whole movie.
I think it's pretty weirdly long.
And just do it that way.
Maybe set a fire like they do there.
Just set the phone on fire then at least.
Yeah, you got to throw the phone on the garbage, definitely.
Yes.
I think that's probably.
How on earth you get the script for this and you're like, yeah, this is my comeback movie.
This is worse than saying you're eating people.
I don't
I just don't think that
that was in his mind
I think what was in his mind
specifically was like fuck these people
fuck like liberal Hollywood
I'm doing this movie
fuck them this guy's paying me at least
like that is I think the whole thought
there was no thought process like this one's gonna take
off baby finally they're gonna let me into Angel
studio well because he's I mean he's
spent his whole life like more or less being
or is more modern career at least
once the video game adaptations dried up
like just being like a troll filmmaker,
which is also an annoying part of this
because it's like, man, you know,
it's not a good look for you, dude, with this movie,
but like, it would at least be one thing
if I could, like, believe that he believes all of this.
And because he's just the guy that he is,
like, you don't even know that that's true,
which is even fucking worse.
You know what I mean?
Because, like, if you don't believe this shit,
but you're still making it for the clicks and the likes or whatever,
fuck you.
It's a, you know, it's a, we got S. Craig's,
Zoller at home type of thing.
Yeah.
Rachel brought up, like, them suggesting that it's similar to Dirty Harry and Death Wish.
Those movies, at the very least, I have my issue with them as well, but those movies,
they at least make an effort to be like, this isn't good.
What he's doing is not exactly the right thing to be doing in this situation.
There's some moral questions going on there.
This is like, no, what he's doing is great.
There's no, like, pushback whatsoever.
It's a great thing what he's doing here.
And also, like, I mean, again, I have not seen to this in Galante, but at least Death Wish has the, the wherewithal to be like, oh, let's put Jeff Goldblum as the head punk or, you know what I mean?
Like, let's, it's, it's not just all like 80s level, you know, Hispanic and African American violence against whites that, you know, which that movie is playing with those tropes that was going on in New York City at the time.
But at least it was smart enough to be like even it out a little bit.
And also like it just gives you, I mean, again,
Paul Cursey was in the wrong,
but it gives you a reason why Paul Cursey,
architect, goes out at night and becomes indeed a citizen.
Right.
Because something happened to him.
He didn't see something on the news.
Exactly.
He just wasn't fucking brainrodded by Fox News and then started just
butchering families.
It's fucking horrible.
Anyway, a movie,
uh,
not good, but fucking football fields better than this, that movie, Supergirls.
I mean, it would almost have to be Christ on the Cross.
But I'll say this about Supergirl, maybe there's a place to start.
But like, when you have a previous film made by a dude with a very distinct style
and certain, you know, predilections that he needs to put in his movies,
like a dude like James Gunn is and always has been,
it's a bad idea to try to ape that dude's shit when you make like the follow-up.
to that world's movie.
Or do you think,
because he's still like
the head of the DC thing,
do you think he wants
all these movies to look like
his movies?
Possibly.
It could be.
It could be.
The gun producerial, whatever,
is a great question
as to what is wrong
with this movie or not.
I don't know.
I'm curious about that.
I mean, people,
idiots online being like,
oh, he ghost directed the movie.
No, he didn't.
Craig Gillespie is a working director.
He's been a working director
for several years.
He knows how to make a movie.
That's a dumb.
dumb non-argument, you're embarrassing yourself if you make it.
Just putting that out there.
Yeah, I mean, going back to the superhero fatigue and Chris's point, which I think is the right
one, which is you got to make this special somehow.
You have to find a way to make this special somehow.
And I actually think Amy L.Cock is really good in this movie.
When she's on screen and not lying down because of the sun's rays for a 24 minutes of the film.
She goes down at one point in the movie due to Cryptonaut.
revives and then goes down no later than five minutes after that with more
kryptonite shit.
It's very,
and that's the thing I think that is very clear about Superman v. Supergirl.
The script understood and knew how to write a fun Superman movie,
and I don't think they ever figured out how to write a fun Supergirl movie,
evidenced by every five minutes there's a reason that she can't ask.
actually do Supergirl things versus the Superman movie where he's like pretty much just running around.
You know what I mean?
Like it's not like Crypto Night every five minutes because that's the only thing that people who don't
know about comic books know about Superman, Cryptonite, bad.
You know what I mean?
Like, yeah.
Well, I will compliment this movie in the terms that like I, I wasn't the big, I was not a fan of Superman.
I understand why people like it.
This I'm also not a fan of.
But at least Supergirl, it's Supergirl.
And I kind of like that it's a lower stake thing.
But what I'm getting at is Superman has got like 30 guys in it.
And I just, I felt like a season three of a TV show I wasn't watching.
And this, at least, we follow the narrative of Supergirl.
And the lower stakes thing, I do kind of likes, I don't need the world being saved every goddamn time.
Yeah.
But this ain't it.
I agree with you on the lower stakes thing.
I just think that these stakes ain't it.
Like what I like, one of the things I like about the gun Superman is that it is a fun movie.
It feels like a comic book I would want to be reading.
This, while contained in its story, which is totally fine,
this whole grim, dark Supergirls breaking up a sex trafficking ring.
And I understand Crem is a villain from the Supergirl comics,
but it's an uninteresting depiction of Crem.
Like, Matthias Shinhardt, he's a great European actor.
He ain't a fucking comic book movie villain.
I'm sorry.
This is terrible.
Is this Crem character from the comics?
Crem is a comic book character.
Okay.
There's a-
from there's something from there
I think the early a 20s
from this writer named Tom King who
it's pretty close to this I was actually looking up
what that book had and I was like oh that sounds better
oh that's one of those like yeah is that woman of tomorrow
that was the one I heard that that's the one that I heard that they took
much of it from and like yeah it's just like again it's not
a metajon art's problem it's the script yep
Prem sucks. It fucking was written like fucking garbage. It was just like,
I'm a bad guy and I'm going to hurt your dog.
35 minutes later, I'm back and I'm going to hurt this little girl you got here.
And then I'm going to fuck you up a little bit.
45 minutes later. Ah, yeah.
It's always a sign of a bad screenplay when something happens in it, like the, you know, like the, the,
the McGuffin or whatever.
You're like, oh, somebody's lying.
It can't be that.
And then it turns, because the, the crypto cure thing, I was like, oh, the little girl's
lying to her to get her to help.
And I was like, oh, no, that's just real.
Okay.
I got it.
Yeah.
Which, I mean, honestly, just to make that the thing.
This dude is being an asshole on a planet that supergirl happens to be drinking at.
He says, fuck you, shoots the dog with poison.
And that's the movie.
You're fucking aping.
John Wick kind of, but whatever.
Because this little girl, and I get
this is all part of that, that
run of stories that you're adapting
this from. So I understand it's preexisting material.
No shade to that girl, she's a little
girl actor, whatever, but like that character
is terrible. It's an obnoxious,
my dead family, and I'm a
little kid who's going to avenge
them, tail. Flush it
all down the toilet, folks.
It doesn't work because
you're not giving enough time to Supergirl
to learn who, like, and that
I would say the big difference, like,
where Superman, like his team,
the Hawk Girl and what's his guy?
If you list them all, we'll be here all day.
That's, there's like,
Mr. terrific, Hawk Girl and Green Lantern, that's it.
Those are the buttons.
Oh, wait, the day's over.
Wait a minute.
Sorry, everybody.
People listening on audio,
you need to see the live stream on YouTube.
So what Steve is doing is very embarrassing.
But like,
Guy Gardner and Hawk Girl and Mr. Tomorrow,
you immediately understand who they are in the world.
Because it's not supposed to be their movie.
It's Superman's movie and they're his sidekicks.
And they get to do their little things.
And you understand who they are.
And the characters are played as who they are.
This movie is specifically like, no,
we're supposed to get to know who Supergirls,
but we also have to get to know who Ruthie is or whatever it is.
And like that's splitting the thing right in half.
And I'm like, you didn't do well on either side of it.
And there's a kernel of a, I mean, I think there's this idea now, I think, and this I think
kind of goes against the specialness of these superhero movies.
Again, I get it.
It's the 50th superhero movie in the last 20 years or whatever number is, but even more than that.
So origin stories are out.
And I get that.
But when you have a really good idea for an origin story, which they do in this movie,
this whole, like, the, her, all of her back story about her,
the kryptonite,
Coptonian like,
expats and all that stuff.
David Cummaltz and all that great stuff.
It's really cool.
And even when she comes to Earth
and is dealing with Superman
for a minute or two,
I'm like,
that's also good.
Yep.
Why is this a flashback
and not the movie?
Thank you.
Yeah.
Exactly right, dude.
Yeah.
Also, we should say Lobo,
flush him down the toilet.
Oh, no,
disagree.
I had fun with it.
I had fun.
The whole time, though,
I was like,
Oh, Lobo, you shouldn't be inhaling those cigars.
That's really bad for you.
I was like, Lobo, you shouldn't be in this movie.
What do you do?
Well, I'll tell you this, dude.
I'll take more Lobo than that fucking little disgusting shitgirl character.
I would take that.
I think we're the only show on YouTube that disliked Supergirl and also disliked Citizen Vigilante.
That's a good point.
I mean, we might get more numbers if we say we loved Citizen Vigiland.
Oh, for sure.
Oh, man.
Because that's the thing.
Again,
Millie Alcock is great.
I think I would have a cool Supergirl movie with her being.
And it's an interesting idea, right?
Like her,
like,
hard partying ways.
We don't see a lot of,
like,
early 20s,
like superheroes trying to figure their shit out and kind of being a bit
messy about him.
Like,
that's what the first three minutes of the movie promises.
Right.
And that's the rest of the movie.
Yeah,
I do like Millie Alcock.
She surprised me,
you know,
because I hated House of the Dress.
so I wasn't expecting to really like her performance,
but I thought she was good.
Yeah.
Yeah,
I actually liked her in House of the Dragon.
And her,
like,
kind of aging out of that show was one of the reasons I'm kind of checked out,
you know,
by everybody.
It's just a weird age jump where they recast her,
but not other people.
It's odd.
What?
Oh,
yeah,
because they,
like, aged up the character,
but then they kept other people playing their same character
to vanish and replaced.
That's very dumb.
Someone in the chat saying,
Lobo was a snoo, sorry.
I mean, one, you don't have to apologize,
but also he's in 10 minutes of the movie,
which I think isn't also like,
what are you even bother?
No, why are you even bothering?
You know what I mean?
That's fair.
He's a big character in the DC lore,
and he's just kind of like there.
And also, it really sucked,
I thought, that you've got,
in the Superman movie,
he gets put in a fucking cube-sized jail
for a second with other people.
She gets that also, like,
with Lobo and these fucking sex traffickers
and I was like, you can't sit in a cube-sized jail.
That's what your cousin did in the last movie.
Yeah, just the sex
trafficking in my Supergirl movie, we're good.
We're good.
We're so good with anything else.
Why doesn't someone rob a bank?
Look at the cultural side.
Look at what everyone says on X.
It's all about.
Everything's true.
Sex trafficked.
Everything's being this, that, a migrant dude.
That's terrible.
That's what I was like, I'm watching it.
like, who were you trying to appeal to with this fucking villain arc?
It has to be the uncles that look for the zip ties on the door.
Exactly.
And that is,
I hate to break it to you guys,
but that's this entire country besides the coast.
That's true.
Okay.
Angel,
look at the Angel Studios numbers.
I bet George Washington Jr.
Oh,
the fuck that movie's going to do really well this weekend.
Young Washington coming out.
Young Washington.
Yeah.
Just in time for America 250.
Yay.
Andy circus is in that movie.
Like there's some people.
Oh, is he doing motion capture as young Washington?
Is he Snoke?
Snow kelps, Washington.
I think he's the sentient cherry tree, as I understand.
Oh, wow.
That's the thing is, we have to shame these actors out of doing these right-wing studio movies.
That's not for you.
Because we're creeping on in.
We're trying to legitimize, you know what I mean?
It's just like, oh, no, it's just a Washington movie.
Don't worry about it.
It's just a studio.
It's not, you know, an ideology.
Ben Kingsley is also in this.
Yes, yeah.
Is the King of England?
What the fuck?
Robert Dinwiddie, which was apparently some British person back in the day.
My God, look at this, Kelsey Grammer.
Of course.
Of course.
Oh, yeah.
Come on now, Eric.
Oh, what do you mean?
Someone's already been cast as young Washington.
I'm right here.
I mean, once you see the studio, Kelsey Grammer, you say, you know, that's okay.
I'll wait for, you know, toy story six.
I'll wait for the John Ford version.
I'd like to Ova Bole.
It's me, Kelsey Graham.
I want to be in Citizen Vigilante too.
It's Citizen Vigilante's dad.
Yeah, totally.
Father of Citizen Vigilante.
Citizen Vigilante Senior is the title.
Yes, yes.
Don't say that because I've been saying they've been putting out fake posters of Citizen Vigilante
2.
Of course.
With like different titles to fit your grievance.
Like there have been different names, like, like, uh, like, uh, the seven Somali armies or something like that and shit like that.
Citizen vigilante two women drivers, you know, like whatever.
You know what?
They probably will get a sequel, watch because we live in hell.
I really hope not.
Citizen vigilante three, Korean grocery store owners.
Let's go.
Oh, no.
Uh, but yeah, I mean, I, yeah, it's, I think Spider-Man, I'm, Spyterman.
Spider-Man is going to be interesting
because again, obsession is this huge thing.
Obsession backrooms are making so much money
with new IP, new ideas, even though the horror,
I know there's been a horror movement for a while now.
I'm curious, Spider-Man is an established property.
It's a liked iteration of that character.
It's well.
It's been a couple of years.
People have been wanting for this movie,
so I'm really curious.
I think it'll do well, but if it doesn't,
I'd be really curious what happened.
And then, June's day is obviously going to be probably still enormous.
Yeah, they're both probably going to do well because it feels like a lot of these superhero movies are just farting around and these were the ones everyone's waiting for.
Yeah, I think I think you're right. Also, like just one last note on it.
Like, I don't, I don't mean to sound like a jerk.
And I know I'm sure plenty of folks out there like she's your favorite superhero, but way fewer people on mass as far as general audiences care about or may even know supergirl exists.
You know what I mean?
So it's like, it's just, it's also not a good character.
to use as a barometer for this stuff.
It's true.
Because I feel it's just not, it's not there.
But like the Spider-Men's, the Avengers of the world, that is on par with a new Superman movie.
And I think that's the thing that Marvel did, at least in the initial, was like, hey, there's the, we have our B and C-tier characters.
And I would call Supergirl somewhere in a B-C-T character.
Because way back when Captain America was like a B-tier character, if not a C-tier character.
But they made it special.
they made it big.
They made you want to...
The awareness made you want to go to the movie to see it.
And I just feel like they did not do that.
The marketing of this movie did not do a very good job.
Well, no, when you're in the theater, you're like, oh, this was why.
Yeah, it's not very good.
Yeah.
So, moving from some studio crime to some real crime.
How do you like that?
So in the final few minutes, so we thought we'd do a little true crime roundup here.
Ooh.
Just some stuff out.
Now, these are all available either on HBO.
or Netflix.
Right. And by the way, I didn't watch any of these
out of respect for the victims. That's right.
That's right. Thank you, Eric. You're welcome.
Especially in the chess documentary
I'm going to talk about.
Wait a minute. Eric, lower your head a little bit.
Is that a halo?
I should get one. I should get one for this stream.
You should, you got to get it.
Dude, I thought it was just your ring light, but it was your halo.
I totally forgot. All right. So first one up,
this is one that was
quite interesting for a few reasons, but yes,
bring me the beauties, a model cult.
With a title like that, I cannot be touching that.
That can't be in my algo.
The word beauties in your algal.
This is the new one from our buddy Chris Smith, though.
This is Mr. American movie.
Always support this guy.
Steve Sadek, I think you maybe watch this first out of all of us.
You told me about it.
What's the general gist in this?
Well, it's basically it's a cult that,
was formed in the
70s and 80s in New York
by some guy named Frederick
something or other who
Frederick von fake name
Yes exactly
This dude who's like an area date dude
That just basically
Said that he was what he referred to as a
Walk in like a human being that an alien
Walked into
And now he has the secrets to all life
And yada yada and yada
And like the problem I think with the documentary
Is it doesn't do a very good job of a
expressing what this cult
actually believes, like what they actually
agree, what they're, what they believe, and
B, what they're doing and why people
are getting into like,
financial disrepair
with them and all number of things and like,
all the nefarious stuff they were doing, but it just,
it's very vague on stuff, but I think probably because of
rights, not rights, but like they don't, people don't want to get sued
or whatever. It was very bizarre. Yeah, I mean, a lot of it is,
they use the general, like, the money that, you know,
we're giving all of our money over to this.
guy for like the work we're doing.
You know, these places are always doing the work, right?
And the work could be fucking anything.
By the end of this, we're told that there's like, whatever it was, like 30 plus LLCs.
They're all living on this big, they call it a lakehouse, but it's a compound in the smoky
mountains of North Carolina.
Like, yeah, it's the work.
It is ill-defined.
It also does follow one of the guys, Hoyt Richards, who was like the first international
famous male model.
So, of course, this dude got
roped into this and just like how
that dude just threw his fucking life
down the toilet with all this stuff.
But what I thought was interesting about it
was, so, I mean, this isn't a spoiler.
It's all fucking public record and whatever.
But like this guy, Freddie Von,
whatever the shit, just dies
in the early 90s.
And what this movie covers
is like the aftermath
and like the hangers on
still trying to keep this fucking
scam afloat with the with the big dog being gone and that is some of the most pathetic shit you
will ever see in your life what if he was right but if when we die he's gonna be there as like king
prove me wrong fred evan whatever the fuck prove me wrong well yeah i do like that they take a
similar a notion as the followers of uh of tito uh who when he died all every person who got into his
position afterwards was given a note that said just do a t-ytoe
Did Cito was so popular.
Just do it.
Over there that he just go keep on doing it.
But I, my issue with this problem, my issue with this problem, my issue with this
series is that it's not a documentary.
Yes.
I wanted it to be just a documentary.
I think there's a two hour version of this.
Sure is.
It nails it.
And this is close to three.
And I just, especially the second episode, I was like, you don't have to spend that much
time with this anti-Christreast tape.
I mean, it's an interesting little part of this,
but you do not have to make it the first half of a whole episode.
It's not that important.
It doesn't say that much about the place.
But I liked all the characters.
I thought it was a part of cult history I hadn't heard about.
Yeah.
I was happy to hear about it.
And I certainly, I like Smith's style that he's always like,
here's what, you know, reality versus the aesthetic.
Like, here are the two versions of this that are being argued about.
and this is what is real
and this is what is just
like what we show each other.
Yeah.
I like that.
But I mean,
you're totally right.
I mean,
Chris Smith,
you have proved to us
you can make really solid
narrative length documentaries,
dude.
Let's,
I think that's,
it's,
that's HBO's thing.
They love these three episodes.
And Netflix does this too,
like three episodes of something
is better than a documentary.
And the problem with that
is you wind up doing this thing
where you have to kind of hold back
information in weird ways
so that every episode
ends with like a big revelation
as opposed to,
in a documentary, it's like, now this is the right time for this information to be released.
You know, and it's a pacing problem.
Totally.
It's a pacing and lying problem as well.
Speaking of stuff that's too long, this is the opposite of this at a quick 70-some-odd minutes.
It's another in the untold series that Netflix does.
And untold is kind of like Netflix is 30 for 30.
So this is chessmates.
and this is a tale about this fella.
I'll bring up his name so I have it here,
but it's basically like the competitive world of chess,
and you have this new fella who's kind of common in,
making a name for himself,
starting during the pandemic on chess.com,
which you learned, like, sort of blew up during the pandemic.
People looking for shit to do,
they go to chess.com and, you know, find some, you know, way to kill time.
So this dude starts making a big name for himself.
And it's your classic, like,
oh, is this dude like using a computer to cheat and whatnot?
This kid's name is Hans Neiman.
And so he's this kid in New York.
And it is like, when I tell you, this guy is like Marty Mouser and Marty Supreme, like,
arrogant, thinks he's going to change the world with his game.
And like, you just want to punch him in the fucking face the entire time.
Love it.
And so the big thing about this story was he was accused of cheating IRL during a chess tournament
with this dude, this Dutch guy, I think.
who's like the grand master of the world or whatever and this dude beat him and then all these
people started being like huh was there cheating of foot blah blah blah blah and then thanks to the
internet somebody was like what if he had a fucking vibrating egg in his ass and that was somehow
giving him and so then he just became the kid who shoved a vibrating egg up his ass to cheat at
chess wait so that sunny in philadelphia thing was real is based off of this this this
tall tail the dude didn't actually do it he did so oh really they were
they were sort of, people on the internet
were guessing as to how
like signals got to him.
I need this to be true. I need him to have
that up his ass. I mean, it's
not proven either way. He stands by that it was not
and it is shown like someone on a Reddit
type thread was like, I don't know
if you're looking for ways that he could be communicated
with, why not a vibrating egg up his ass
that's controlled with a map? And everybody was like
ran with like the internet ran with it.
And now he's just the kid that
shoved an egg up his ass to cheat a chest.
And that's all he should ever be
because he's a real fucking piece of shit.
So he cheated, but no one knows how still?
It was unproven that he cheated IRL.
It was proven that he did cheat in the online gaming.
He was running another like simulator
alongside his computer and just doing the moves.
So he was confirmed cheating like hundreds of times online.
But it is harder to cheat when you're playing a dude in person like in a tournament.
Yeah.
I mean, even like with the vibrating egg,
what are we talking like Morse code that would take
fucking forever yes you know what I mean
Morris yeah which I think is what they
I mean they do that in the
there's an it's always sunny episode where they just do this
and Frank has something shoved up his ass
that Charlie and his uncle are like using to send messages
to it is one of the funniest fucking
doveto moments on that show
and real quick as we are at the top of the hour here
but one more
oh
maternal instinct
holy fucking shit this movie
this movie this is available
on Netflix. And this is a 90-minute little actual documentary, documentary length. And
the reveal that happens towards the end of it is so satisfying because it's a, it's at the 51-minute
mark and then the next 40 minutes are exploring, holy shit what this lady actually did. You know what I
mean? As opposed to it's at the end of hour two because we have to hide stuff in the first two
episodes to make that work. Exactly. It just plays right through. It is quite some.
thing. The thing I was drawing comparisons to, this is a documentary version of a Texas set interpretation of the new French extreme film inside.
Yeah. And no spoilers, but I'll just say if you look at that tagline on that poster, it roughly translates to open your door to me so I can open your belly.
and so do with that what you will when you want but man
it was a real like
ho ho when you get to the end of that movie
because it feels like it's a scammer movie because she just
just like she's scamming this dude and she says
she's doing all the scammer stuff with like
saying that her mom is a millionaire and she's going to come into
all this money and all this stuff
dup accounts left and right phones the whole thing
yeah this and this dopey guy is just falling for it
and his mom is just like I don't know about that girl
boy was she right about that yeah
listen to your mama when it comes
Connie was right. Get me a T-shirt.
Connie was right. She absolutely was.
She deserves all the fucking press on this one.
Her and Cody, my man Cody.
Oh, yeah, Cody.
You knew from the beginning. Cody rules.
I love that, man.
Which guy's Cody?
Cody's the friend who had to like stop talking.
Oh, yes.
Cody and his wife very much were like,
you're fucking crazy, Bubba.
What are you doing here?
Well, because it's great because there's clearly the couple
It's like a little gossipy like, I don't know about that new girlfriend.
Man, were they like, yes!
Yes, they were correct in that.
I would say beyond their wildest dreams, though.
Yeah, and I would suggest just, yeah, watch it.
Don't read nothing about it.
Just go in, don't, because you could probably read about this case pretty quickly and have it ruined for you.
It's worth going in and just knowing it.
I saw it in the chat also.
For those who are saying it, Maddie's Secret is great.
go see that as well.
Oh, okay.
Eventually.
John Early,
great directorial debut.
I think he did a fantastic job.
Oh, I didn't know Early also directed it.
Oh, that's cool.
Yes, he did.
Oh, right.
Hell yeah.
And I was really just happy with everything in that movie.
I think they really knocked it out of the park.
That's awesome.
So there you go, folks.
All the recommendations and non-reconditions we could squeeze into 63 minutes of showtime here.
But as always, the fun does not stop on the live stream out right now,
because we had to get ahead of the holiday weekend
and also just the end of the calendar month.
But available on our Patreon
is this month's episode
of our Star Trek Recap Show The Nexus.
We're talking about two pretty fun and good episodes
on both sides of the ball here.
A lot of interesting animation going on
on that toast is for once in their cheap-ass lives.
So that was pretty cool.
And then tomorrow the summer blockbuster extravaganza
hits the halfway mark.
I can't believe we're already at the end of June.
But yes, we are talking about San Andreas,
a movie that also features a selfish hero.
a dude who is literally
employed to protect the public
decides to bring it back home
and save only his family during a natural disaster.
A lot of great Paul Giamatti in that.
A lot of great talk about
just fucking the CGI carnage of it all
and poor Kylie Minogue's fate in that movie.
But a lot of fun.
So a quick week here as we get into the holiday weekend.
But as always, we thank you all for tuning in to OSL.
And yes, tell your friends who miss the Broad
that they can come check out the replay Wednesday when the audio drops.
But until then, Steve's waving his toys here.
Goodbye, Gardner.
Have a good week, night, Gardner.
All right, y'all.
Until next time, I've been Andrew Juppen.
Steven Sadek.
Eric Siskin.
Take it easy, all.
Bye, bye, bye, guy.
