We Hate Movies - S17 Ep891: Child's Play 2 (1990)

Episode Date: October 20, 2026

“This is an ‘I Got It By the Way’ situation” - Steve The 2026 Halloween Spooktacular continues this week as we’re chatting about the better-than-the-original sequel, Child’s Play 2! How... hilarious is it that this toy company insists on rebuilding the cursed doll to calm their shareholders? Why do these foster parents have so much terrifying clown stuff and breakable antiques in their home? Does Chucky have the strength of a man or the strength of a cursed doll? How much funnier is this one than the first? And has our society hidden a bygone era from us, where clowns were allowed to walk around and participate in society like it was totally normal? PLUS: A long jag on those gross airplane bottles of Fireball! Child’s Play 2 stars Alex Vincent, Jenny Agutter, Gerrit Graham, Christine Elise, Grace Zabriskie, Peter Haskell, Beth Grant, Greg Germann, and Brad Dourif as the voice of Chucky; directed by John Lafia. This episode is sponsored by Rocket Money! Starting point is 00:00:00 This week on the program, when are they going to get to the toy factory? We're talking Child's Play 2. I'm Andrew Juppen. Bad Jack Nicholson, Stephen Seda. Eric Siska, too. Chris Gabon. And we hate movies. We all go a little mad sometimes.
Starting point is 00:00:23 You know, it's Halloween. I guess everyone's a title of one good scaring. Sometimes. Time to keep your appointment with the Wickham Man. That's a copming. to get you, Barbara. Because you've seen one too many movies. Now, Sid, don't you blame the movies.
Starting point is 00:00:54 Movies don't create psychos. Movies make psychos for creative. Hello, everyone. Welcome to We Hey Movies. Thank you for tuning in to the fine comedy podcast, as always. That's right. Up this week in The Sputacular, 1990s Childs Play 2, directed by John Lafeya,
Starting point is 00:01:17 who of course co-wrote the first Child's Play. And he apparently is credited with coming up with one, the name Chuckie. Whoa. How about that? Chuckie, want to play? That's all. I guess those. And probably more things from the script.
Starting point is 00:01:30 Also directed previous episode and Great Movie Man's Best Friend. Oh, yeah. Oh, my God. We're sitting on a time bomb. This dog is going to piss ass in. This was released November the 9th, 1990s. I love these early November
Starting point is 00:01:46 ones. You'd just fucking missed Halloween. Three weeks. What were you doing? That's crazy. But still, even though, I mean, I guess we still had the horror scratch to itch. 35.8 million dollars worldwide this movie. I mean, like, you're trying to come off it. You know, you're still eating a little bit of candy that are all over your house.
Starting point is 00:02:07 You're coming down. You know, you need a couple of these. I get it. This is actually a pretty entertaining movie, I think. So I'll allow it. I'll allow it. I think this is that I got it, by the way. I agree.
Starting point is 00:02:18 I prefer this to the first movie by quite a margin. It was funny because you said that the other day on the text chain and I was like, I don't know if that's true. And I last night, it was late and I was like, you know what? Again, God bless it. It's like fucking 97 minutes. Yeah. So even though I started it like 1030, 11 o'clock, it was totally fine.
Starting point is 00:02:36 You're totally right. Yeah. And I realize what a lot of it is is because this movie, the cat's out of the bag. Chuckie is a doll that runs around, says one-liners and kills people. And the movie can get right into that. The problem with the first movie, it spends so much time on, oh, maybe Andy's do doing the killings and he's a crazy little kid and the doll is just the doll
Starting point is 00:02:59 and I'm like no I fucking saw the preview get that little fucker moving but it's also a Jaws thing because it looks fucking terrible so you don't want to like show it a lot yeah it looks good in this movie the puppet is way better in this movie yes absolutely and you know what I love to you just settle right in I love
Starting point is 00:03:15 these I think it was an anniversary year of some kind the Universal Studios logos through the decades when you get a newer movie like or a more contemporary movie, but you see the black and white old school universal logo pop up and I'm like, oh, man. So Chuckie's a universal monster. I technically, yeah. I think that's how you get this dark universe going again. Okay, you get the Wolfman, you get Dracula, you get Chuckie, get them all
Starting point is 00:03:41 together. I still have never seen the Mark Hamel one that came out a couple of years. It's kind of fun. I saw it. It was okay. I definitely not as good as this or the first one. Because then the show came out after that or was it concurrent? Yes, the show was after because people were mad. It was like a robot, Chuckie. And they wanted to go back to the soul of a killer. Yes, which I mean, that is the appeal. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:04:08 There's a fucking scumbag serial killer stuck in this little body and it's great. It's so funny that he fucks it up and he's like, oh shit, now I'm trapped in the fuck. I love the realization of the third act of like, you've got to be fucking kidding me. He's so fucking good. There is a funny line of the first one when the guy is like, you're going to have to, you can only go, or you have to kill the person you first revealed yourself to, which is Andy.
Starting point is 00:04:35 And you're going to go into his body or whatever. And he's like, oh, man, that's great. I'm going to be eight all over again. And he's, like, legitimately excited to live his life over. I don't think so. I'm going to get all that candy. Oh, man. I'm going to watch so many cartoons.
Starting point is 00:04:50 I'm going to shit myself all the time. I would actually be okay with the scenario. I would like to be put back into an eight-year-old's body if I know voodoo. Okay. Okay. And, you know, I know what I know now, that I didn't know then. I'm going to be great. And you're talking about being put into an eight-year-old's body through mystical stuff, not prime time stuff?
Starting point is 00:05:11 Is that what they were doing? They were pushing them in? No. Yes, mystical. Eric's just going to hello there. You see what this looks like, right? You're saying a voodoo right next to a child. I mean, I'm sorry, you came to this house expecting Mbala herself to be here?
Starting point is 00:05:24 I don't think so. What's that in your hand? Oh, incantations, interesting. Okay, I see. I see you planned a great spell tonight, didn't you? Wow, you needed six whole incantation packets. Now, you're up for a real party. Do you still want the cookies?
Starting point is 00:05:37 You can have. They're still there. If you want to take one, you can have one. Might as well gosh while we talk. Who cares if there's wine coolers? If I become him, that's fine. Well, that's the thing, Eric, is I just don't think there are many guarantees in the voodoo world.
Starting point is 00:05:53 I don't know if you can necessarily be like, I am definitely going to get this when this happens. I don't know if you get that. I would like to relive my life because I know it's almost over. Please stop reminding me everyone on the internet. Sure. But like, you know, you could, knowing what you know now. Yeah. It would be a tough go.
Starting point is 00:06:10 Well, here's a question. Would you? It would be easier than the first one? Sure. Would you prefer like being put an eight year old now and then the world's going to die in 30 years or go all the way back to like the eight. 80s, 90s. Well, see, because that's the thing is you keep saying
Starting point is 00:06:23 with what I know now. And that usually implies a little bit of time travel. So you can go back and use what you know now. I would look, first of all, if I had the time travel option, obviously. Should I be trading stocks and bonds like Nancy Pelosi. But now, what I know now is I can, I know how to read. It took me a while. Yeah, sure.
Starting point is 00:06:47 So you just want to read more. That's the whole. That's right. There's finally time, Chris. Finally. But then my glasses break. I love this whole opening credit montage of this disgusting charred doll. For whatever reason, cheapness, capitalism, being rebuilt and re-burbished.
Starting point is 00:07:05 That's why I do every episode when we got Eric in here as we brush her to come out of his hair. Get the crusties out of his eyes. The teeth scraping on the doll is horrific. Those teeth look like real teeth. Yes, it's creepy. What they're doing, and it's a bluishy. Flinkin you miss the thing, the wormy guy who's been in a bunch of movies. It's like, oh, because there's been a lot of thought that we are rebuilding the doll to make sure
Starting point is 00:07:30 nothing is wrong with it. So because there's been like, there was like stuff in the news about the evil doll. And even though those people were crazy, we just want to, now you could assure the stockholders that we spent all this time rebuilding this doll. It's a waste of time. It's a good. It's just like we need to have chucky back. We got to figure.
Starting point is 00:07:47 Yeah, we burned him to a crisp and he was shot to show. in the last movie by Chris Sarandon. It's pretty cool that it's like the police were smart enough and denied everything. The mother didn't and I guess she's now in a psych center. But the biggest problem has been the rumor that some joker at the company must have tampered with the voice recordings so that like it yelling and being a voodoo. Your own bitch or something like that. Was a someone at the factory recorded that in it, yeah, as a gag.
Starting point is 00:08:14 Right, right, right. This is the great Greg German who has made a career out of being a wormy businessman number one, two or three. Precisely. That was the big one. That's the big one. He's in Ricky Bobby as well. He looked a little like Guy Pearce to me, so I was calling him dude Pierce.
Starting point is 00:08:30 Yeah, he does kind of, I get that. Especially a younger Greg Jermaine? Yeah, definitely. I could see that. I could see that going down. But I assume whatever your, whatever moves you're making here, this is a dud now. You think this is going to make money now? They're trying to bring this thing back.
Starting point is 00:08:46 I'm like, you got to let it go. But apparently it didn't hurt sales. at all because, like, this factory is fucking pumping these dolls out. Consider this, right? We're, like, gorehead losers, right? Sure. You're sitting around, you know? You get wind that, like, this doll, like, this fun doll was used in all these killings.
Starting point is 00:09:06 Oh, so now you're trying to find the one. Well, you can't really long. This one kill me. We're like hoping it happens again? No, I'm just saying, like, because of the crime, you got people probably buying it to put on their own. The status, all the rob zombies. The Jonathan Davis buying a funeral home or whatever. Now you're opening up the got got the got kids who are buying it legitimately.
Starting point is 00:09:31 And now the got got goths are after it because of the murder. We just got hot topic, a huge hot topic order. Yeah, totally. We got we landed the hot topic account. But now you got to start dressing the good guy dolls like hot topic kids. That's the problem is that it has to then you have to turn it into a goth chucky and he has to have black like. No, no, no, no, no. get this Chris.
Starting point is 00:09:49 Okay. The goth clothes sold separately. We just made two sales, motherfucker. Oh, you're double dip it. You're totally right. You're totally right. And then gets one on top of that, Chris, a hair dye kit for the doll. These are all good ideas.
Starting point is 00:10:03 I think you're overthinking how much of a big deal this is going to be. You'll be saying different Christmas morning. This Christmas, you'll be turning your good guy into a goth guy in no time at all. I do love that what's her face who didn't want to be in this movie again from the first, from the first movie from Seventh Heaven. The mother. From Star Trek 4. Yes.
Starting point is 00:10:21 Whatever her name is. It's just like, I love the ideas like, you know what I mean? The sequel, I guess you're going to the insane insane asylist I love like this. Yeah. There's Catherine Hicks of course. Yes. Yes. Yes. As Karen Barclay. Yeah, apparently though, it's not a didn't want to be in this movie.
Starting point is 00:10:38 Oh, really? It's a scenes deleted situation. Oh. Either a deleted and we or we like filmed it and deleted or like we wrote it. And then we never filmed it. And then it never happened. but it wasn't a I mean you're not turning this down they weren't calling back for the next Star Trek picture
Starting point is 00:10:54 so this was the next time it was like five years off yeah so there's a deleted scene in the booby hatch I think it was maybe like a court sentencing thing like you're a sentence to the booby hatch oh because I was hoping like Andy gets his Clarice Starling meeting cannibal actor but it's his mother that'd be great or you get her in the in the insane asylum there much. There's a lot of Terminator stuff in this movie. It's her like doing pull-ups and stuff. Get ready for Chuckie? Constantly training. Oh, fuck yeah, dude.
Starting point is 00:11:23 She's just in the nut house. She turns herself into like a self-trained killing machine. I'd love that. I will say, I don't, and I don't know how you guys feel about this. This is just me. I don't think that Alex Vincent, the kid who plays Andy, is a disgusting shit boy. I actually think he's quite adorable and does kind of a good job, especially in the second movie. They're giving him a lot more to do. He's older so he can say more lines and stuff. He has that thing in this movie specifically. I think
Starting point is 00:11:48 Christine Elise has a lot to do with it as well. Where you're rooting for him, you're like, oh no, that kid's in trouble. Like you're that kind of thing. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm so ugly too, so deflects. I think that helps him a lot. Disgusting shit boy. It's, I think it's a split to baby situation. I think I can still root
Starting point is 00:12:05 for the child while still thinking he's disgusting and shitty. That's, I mean, generally speaking, like, I think he's still, you know, worthy of living and life and love and all that stuff, but he's, you know, it's still disgusting ship boy. Chris coming out swinging on this kid. No, this kid is disgusting. I'm sorry. No, thank you. You're right. You're right. Chris, I was just going to be
Starting point is 00:12:23 polite and let it slide. But I'm glad you caught him. I do. I do love, yes, we've rebuilt the doll and it's Greg German and this old motherfucker the old man. It's kind of like a Robocop thing. I do love that this dude is introduced into the movie. The limo is like going 90 miles an hour into the parking lot. It's so funny. By the way, the fact that we have
Starting point is 00:12:45 a doll factory in America in the year 1990. Wowza. This was supposed to be the last one. Seriously. Like it was run by both mom and pop. Well, thanks to tariffs, all the Chucky factories are coming home. Oh, thank God. We're going to be bringing
Starting point is 00:13:00 Chuckie back to America. We're putting in the voodoo ourselves. Back when Illinois was making good guy dolls. Illinois, the land of dolls. I like play pals. You all love play pals. We love. playing with our pals
Starting point is 00:13:16 and kids yeah the old man very scared he's talking to Greg Jermaine about like the shareholders are nervous so it is it is all for the benefit of fucking the all idealer at the end of the day here OCP owns this
Starting point is 00:13:33 the toy division you see and we see the beginning is the rebuilding Chucky bit bit with the scraping and now last bit the eyes the eyes come back at the end of just really great so good this toy tech mission guy. This character is fucking hilarious. This guy
Starting point is 00:13:48 goes to like put the eyeballs in or whatever. The last thing the eyes get put in and then he's like, no, we're just going to turn it. This dude getting electrocuted and thrown across the room. Oh, it's through a window too. Now, Mr. Sullivan, we're so happy that you decided to stay and that you got the board on your back. We'd love that so much.
Starting point is 00:14:05 This is a test of the new Chucky doll and we swear there's not going to be one death here. There's not going to be a single dead body. We can guarantee the fuck. Fuck, goddammit. I love that. Like, this movie knows what it's doing.
Starting point is 00:14:19 Six minutes in, you get a kill. Yes, yep. No fucking around. And a short runtime, too. We're packing them in. So we do re-meet Andy here and he's talking to this social worker. And she's like,
Starting point is 00:14:31 you're still dreaming about Chucky? Like, they're basically like, they have more or less, I think, successfully at the start of this movie convinced the child that that was just a bad dream that he had. Yeah, but the reason why you're not seeing your mother anymore, completely separate from your, from your doll nightmare.
Starting point is 00:14:46 It's a different dream. It's a different dream that is actually a dream as well. FYI, you're allowed to have any dreams you want. You just got to remember that their dreams. When your mom has dreams, she has to go to the nut house. I'm sorry. I'll never see her ever again. Just stop talking about your dreams. That's just for you.
Starting point is 00:15:01 It was actually a dream that you had a mother. That wasn't really your mother. That was some person who was taking care of you for a little bit. We got a new family for you, though. You know, and so this is where they fill you in just a little. bit if you didn't get a chance to re-rent the first movie before you raced out to theaters for this but yes charles lee ray was the lakesore strangler wanted to get into andy's body blah blah and you know this this kid is like he told me his real name is charles lee ray and
Starting point is 00:15:29 the fucking social worker has to be like uh not quite there you know still talking about this serial killer eh in that dream you had isn't that right garick graham it's just it's a dream that the boy had God damn it. Speaking of Garrett Graham, we are introduced to him because we go to this halfway house kind of deal,
Starting point is 00:15:48 orphanage, whatever you want to call it. Here's the great Grace Zabriski playing Mrs. Grace Pool. I like that there's a Mrs. Pool in this movie. And R.I.P. Garrett Graham.
Starting point is 00:15:58 Yep. Gerr. Graham is the husband here. And Jenny a gutter from American Warwolf in London as the wife here. Who should just be British? I don't know why we're even trying.
Starting point is 00:16:07 She's just trying her best. This is my British wife. Hi. How are you doing? Yep. You know, we're living in the Chicago metro area. I fucking came over here for school and never left. We met it Northwestern.
Starting point is 00:16:18 This woman has never had a Chicago dog in her life. Oh, no. Is it pickles on it? It is fucking hilarious. I think Zabriski mentioned something about the Lakeshore Strangler. Maybe Andy does, but it's a great Garrett Graham. Oh, Charles Lee Ray, he was the Lakeshore Strangler. That was the title we decided on.
Starting point is 00:16:38 Yes, you're right. And Garrett Graham, I have to say, his character. character, Jenny and got her, she's, I understand she's trying to do the right thing, but Garrett Graham's character is the one asking all the right questions such as, honey, are we qualified to deal with these damaged goods? He calls this kid. Yes. And he is. That's why you don't do it. Is there a way for me to get out of this? Yeah, exactly. Let me find a new way. Could I complain to you enough that we can leave the office without taking this kid home? Well, the weird part about this movie, which is also kind of fun, is Chuckie only kills good
Starting point is 00:17:09 people in this movie. Like, like actually good Hardwood. Garry Graham's a good guy. Jetya Gutter's a good person. The teacher isn't abusive. She's just kind of like overwrought. Like the wormy executive shore. You know, like, but very, Grace Zabriski is a wonderful person working with damaged children. And they are just getting gutted to shit as opposed to usually like the dad is probably like, oh, that shithead kid. You know what I mean? Like maybe he hits him, maybe whatever. It's like, and then he gets his
Starting point is 00:17:35 just desserts. No, these are all people doing wonderful things. Yeah, but it's a warning about adoption. Like, you look out. You could get an eerie kid. And he's fine. It's just what's going to come with him. That's true. You're right. But like the only way that the Lake Shore Strangler gets what he fucking wants is if those things don't happen. Yes, exactly.
Starting point is 00:17:56 Like you need to have. That's why he's going out for this because they're protecting from him who needs the body. He wants his little boy body. That's what I wanted earlier. Have a seat, Chris. Have a seat. What does he want? It's a boy body, sir? There's a really great Garrett Graham, like, driving away from the orphanage or whatever. And he's, like, he's doing the classic, I'm turning around to talk to you in the backseat while driving the car.
Starting point is 00:18:22 And it's a great, it's 1990s, so we still, it's technically still the 80s. We got a great, you like sushi, Andy, while we almost fucking T-bone a good guy truck. Oh, it's great. And this is up to them, because we'll get to it. But like, oh, we got the kid who's got the good guy problem. Let's go through the closet and make sure there's no good guys at all in the house. It's insane that they let this thing just sit in the house still. That should be part of the interview when you take them in.
Starting point is 00:18:50 Yes. Do you have any product from the fucking play pal's fucking system of universe of toys? But this house. Good guy, good girl. I don't want that in the house. Nothing. You know, and I know that it wasn't a part of the curse brand, you get a fucking my buddy and me get that the garbage too no god no way those things woke up
Starting point is 00:19:10 at night walked around god remember those commercials they were terrible my buddy my buddy and me and it's a fucking like four foot doll or like a three yeah you're like dragging as tall as the kid dragging your friend's corpse around pretty much straight about this the good girls doll is just the chucky with longer red hair we all know this let's stop this total it's the same fucking you know jumpsuit and everything and we covered a few of these before right we did uh uh Do we do bride? We did three and bride. Yes.
Starting point is 00:19:39 And we did the original in Chicago, Chicago. Right, yes. My God, like, was she, I don't even remember the bride. That was that a good girl doll? No, she was a different doll that Jennifer Tilly gets sucked into. Yeah. Okay, so they're compatible with other dolls. Good to know.
Starting point is 00:19:59 This episode's brought you in part by Rocket Money. You know, folks, you really have to start looking at your finances this time of year. The holidays are coming up faster than you think. And you don't want to be in a bind like I am where all my money's tied up in subscriptions. I don't use or want anymore. And then I'm forced to buy a good guy's doll that goes all not so haywire because I couldn't get the better brand stuff. Because again, I was paying for subscriptions I didn't use. But thankfully with rocket money, I can set budgets and goals and get personalized insight.
Starting point is 00:20:31 In addition to all that helpful hand there they give you on canceling unwanted subscriptions, You can, like I said, those budgets and goals, and you could automatically set money aside. They notify you of upcoming bills and refunds and low balance alerts. Sort of one of those things when you get it afterwards, you're like, how did I live without this? I love how the app consolidates my checking, savings, loans, and investments into a single dashboard. It gives me a clear financial picture, so I'm not buying good guy dolls, all right? Rocket Money is a personal finance app that helps you find and cancel unwanted subscriptions. monitors your spending and helps you lower your bills so you can grow your savings.
Starting point is 00:21:09 Let Rocket Money help you reach your financial goals faster. Join at RocketMoney.com slash WHM. That's RocketMoney.com slash WHM. RocketMoney.com slash WHM, which stands for We Hate Movies. WHM, get it? One brand of doll can date another brand of dolls. It's totally fine. I like that.
Starting point is 00:21:38 They live in a house filled with antiques, which matters once in the movie. But also, like, if you're fostering kids, you shouldn't have the antiques out. Andy immediately is a fucking seven-year-old kid grabs it. And now Andy in this house, these are very important. Keep it locked in like a China hutch or something. Yeah, if it's that, if it's, if it's equally important to you
Starting point is 00:21:58 to collect antiques and foster children, which is, that's a great thing. Sure, you got to be willing to put the antiques behind a door in a locked closet. You know, they can't be out on display anymore. I just don't think you should be in the antiques. That's something for 75-year-olds to worry about. You are not there yet.
Starting point is 00:22:16 They're younger. That's the thing. I just don't get this. Because it's not even just like the collectibles and are antiques or whatever. Like the house is decorated like 80-year-old. The one thing that does break eventually is something that she says was passed along like two generations in her family. Airloom, yeah, right. I always said, well, Andy, my mother gave it to my grandmother gave it to my mother and my mother gave it to me.
Starting point is 00:22:37 And then he's like, who are you going to give it to? and care of cramps like oh shit it's a real like here we fucking go they just changed the subject my my mother gave it to me her mother gave it to her and i'm going to put it right here on this needlehead and we're just going to keep this right on top of a little table we have here in the middle of the living room oh yes that's right i uh i got it from my mother she got it from her mother she got it from her mother and her mother stole it from the irish yes that's right well i'll make sure that the floors are extra slippery around it Excellent.
Starting point is 00:23:10 Honey, have you greased the flaws around all the breakable antiques? Excellent. You have a little kidlouse. I'm sorry. No, you're right. It's very dumb. Andy meets Kyle, and this is the great Christine Lease from 902.10. That's psychopath Emily Valentine.
Starting point is 00:23:24 Absolutely, dude. And she's a bad girl here, too. I do love that the family is the Simpsons. Yeah, they are The Simpsons, which is very funny. Yeah, she is smoking. I was wondering if Kyle actually is a reference to turn. Terminator or if that just happens to be her name. Oh.
Starting point is 00:23:42 Yeah. Kyle Reese. Yeah. So you think she was sent back in time to fight Chuckie? Or impregnate. Back in my time, all dolls have, in 1996, dolls become self-aware. I think that's what the, I mean, I haven't seen it since it came out, but the remake is sort of Skynet. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:05 Because, yeah, it is just, it's a little Terminator that goes awry pretty much. I do like the idea of a chucky doll squeezing a dead chucky doll's head. Yes. Although, now that we know that dolls can date other dolls from different brands, maybe we get that new Chuckie with Megan, huh? Oh, yeah. We're playing matchmaker here.
Starting point is 00:24:24 I wonder if on like the next season of Chuck, I mean, maybe they've already done this or if they make another movie you put it and fuck Megan, like some sort of like, I'm the real deal evil doll. Fuck that Megan. I'm sure there's a hip reference. Oh, but Soulmate on the other hand. Hello, Soulmate.
Starting point is 00:24:43 Do that trick you did with your thighs. It wasn't just your thighs. Okay, I got to get on this. Dude, dude, it's the kill of the year. Okay. Remember in... It's a sex doll that kills people? Is that what this is?
Starting point is 00:24:56 Yes. The fake Jason, what was that movie? In a violent nature. Yes. Where that yoga and you were like, that's that for this year. It's Soulmate. It's that kill for this.
Starting point is 00:25:08 this year. It's a great point. Excellent point. But so Greg Germain, fucking, I love this. He's got the evil, Chuckie. Oh, we should say we do meet Tommy the doll. This leftover doll from whatever orphan is not here anymore. And he freaks out, oh, Andy, I can't believe it. Oh, I can't. There's so many kids
Starting point is 00:25:27 coming in and out of here. We never know what we have. Okay, Andy, let's all go to the outside, and I'm going to watch me throw this right in the garbage. Exactly. Or light it on fire right in front of you. Like, just so you know. It'll be therapeutic. Oh, honey, we spent $15 on that.
Starting point is 00:25:42 Come on, no, let's keep it. Let's keep it in that. They have it downstairs. I guess the idea is they're going to give it to Goodwill or something probably. What would they throw it in the basement? Is that what you're referencing? At first, it's like a box or something. But so we come back to the good guys doll thing because this guy is just dead and like,
Starting point is 00:25:59 the guy's like, well, that was a waste of time. Get rid of the body and he's like, what do you want to do with the doll? I don't care if you show it up your eyes. Yes. So we put it back. He has not shoved it up his ass. He has shoved it in his trunk where this car is bursting with,
Starting point is 00:26:16 I think this dude's stealing shit from the factory and selling it on the street. There's good guy dolls all in this car. How many, how much shit do you have to have in your trunk that you can't close a Chucky doll in there? He cannot get it closed. Well, when you have 14 other Chucky doll boxes in there and all the accessories and that's what's weird, right? This is a detail from the first movie that it just,
Starting point is 00:26:37 it totally knocked me, for a second because the good guy doll is introduced as a new thing to the world of good guy toys. Oh, okay. And it's fucking crazy that the doll wasn't the first thing and then
Starting point is 00:26:52 they made other toys. Like the doll is like the brand new thing for the season and there's that commercial where it's a grown adult in a good guy doll body. I have three things that I say and my eyes move and it's fucking terrifying. But it's like debuting the doll and there was
Starting point is 00:27:08 like all these other, it's so weird. That is strange. Well, I guess that's where he gets the shovel from later as well. A good guy branded shovel. Yes. But so with the pouring rainstorm, he's trying to like dial a car phone. You know it's not going to go good. Call him this guy, or calling Gabriela this guy is.
Starting point is 00:27:24 Oh, yeah. Oh, you're ready for a hot night, baby? Of course I remembered the vodka. It's our two week anniversary. And I am ready to go. I have just been talking about kids' toys for over five hours. I am hard as a rock right now. What a class act, Gabriel is you bring the vodka, you mean you shit.
Starting point is 00:27:45 I don't want another one of your toys. I want some vodka. If you bring another good guy toy over here, you're fucking through. A third input, $300. That's where you know. You know what's happening. You bring the vodka, you bring you 300. The steaming, I bring you vodka.
Starting point is 00:28:06 It sounds hot. He does have a fucked of line where he goes, yes, I know what that does to you. Like after the vodka, I'm like, okay. I love this liquor story. He pulls over to go to this liquor store. This guy does not take credit cards. It's great. Oh, it's so good.
Starting point is 00:28:22 Oh, man. Get into the business. Realized, too, there are fewer things to make a fellow look more pathetic than running, like desperately running into the liquor store at night in a rainstorm. Ooh, that's got a certain look to it, man. We didn't have the tap back then. You'd have that whole fucking thing with the ch-chunk thing. Oh, yes.
Starting point is 00:28:40 Yep. They, now kids at home. Triplicate. They take out this gigantic box thing and they put your credit card on there. Yeah, and it does the duplicates. It gives,
Starting point is 00:28:49 they have a copy. You have a copy. Yep. They make an imprint of your credit card. It's crazy, right? Because then it's like, you know, then they have to go and actually charge it later.
Starting point is 00:28:58 That's why you wouldn't take credit cards at that time. No, I'm a liquor store. It's cash only, brother. But that's a gold car. Oh, yeah, that's right. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's good as cash.
Starting point is 00:29:06 And I guess we're pre-ATM in the liquor store. You'd have to go to a bank to go to the ATM. You don't want to give people two things to rub. But while he is in the store, like we see the doll kind of like moving around in the backseat. And then like it's Chucky calling Mrs. Poole. This is his uncle Charles. Where is that shit-eaten kid you just gave up to the Simpsons? Yeah, I know that he's got, he was involved in like six different crimes.
Starting point is 00:29:33 Give me his last known address. I'm calling you at night. Oh, sure, right away. This is where... Right away, mysterious stranger. Oh, uncle, great. This is where you kind of like first start realizing like the doll technology is better
Starting point is 00:29:47 because like this little puppet on the phone making a phone calls the funniest fucking... I wonder if it's a... I'm sure sometimes it is a little person, sometimes it's one of those things or... The first movie there was definitely a little person skittering around in that... I don't know what we're doing here.
Starting point is 00:30:02 I thought it was magic. Oh, right. It's magic. I thought it was fucking... Voodoo magic. Yeah, Dermamu. Dermamu did it. Umbala. No, magic is the Anthony Hopkins movie about the dummy that
Starting point is 00:30:12 Which I've not seen. Can you believe that? It's a little slow, but it's a weird one. Good movie. Who's remaking it? Ramey was supposed to. I don't know if he still is, but he's supposed to. That would have been cool. So, yeah, this fucking doll, like Greg Dermaine gets back in the car, no vodka.
Starting point is 00:30:27 This doll putting a fucking gun to this guy's neck is the funniest fucking thing. No questions. Just drive. Now, my question is, because he's got the gun against, questions. Just drive. Does he know that this is the sentient doll at this does he think he has a gun to his head? Somebody's in his car. At this moment, I believe he thinks this is a person carjacking him and not a toy
Starting point is 00:30:48 going to his head. A toy holding what turns out to be a toy gun. Because that would be why I think of like, oh my God, this doll is real. Is what I would jump to immediately. Right, exactly. But I think if you're, you don't see who's in the back seat yet and you just feel cool plastic up against your hand, I guess. Sir, sir, I need to answer my phone. I need to answer the phone. Sorry,
Starting point is 00:31:07 Gabriel, I couldn't get the five. I don't care. How many dollars are kidding you? I don't know. Give a shit that this one can use a gun. You know, three of the buyers of fireball would you.
Starting point is 00:31:23 Oh, yes. You get to the little bottles of fireball. That is just those should be illegal. They really should. There is no human reason for you to just have little bottles of Fireball. I'll tell you this. I had
Starting point is 00:31:39 an encounter with some of these. A fellow was buying him the other day. I don't know what the loophole is, wherein bodegas can just sell the airplane bottles of Fireball. But bodegas in this neighborhood are stocked the fuck up on Fireball. And the other day
Starting point is 00:31:55 I was going to, I was going to a New York Film Festival screening. So I'm leaving the house to get my car at like 8 o'clock in the morning. And I had to have some money for the garage guy so I went to the bodega to get a red bull to break the 20 so I can have money. The guy in front of me, he's getting a large coffee and he's younger than me, shitty like bottled dyed job kid, the crust punk kind of guy.
Starting point is 00:32:18 And he's like large coffee and he's like, you know what? I don't know, maybe two of those fireballs. Oh, does he put it in the coffee? I don't know about that because he walked out with everything. But the craziest part was the guy running the bodega was like, well, actually, sir, it's fucking four for five dollars or whatever it is. And the kid saddest, this is like eight o'clock in the morning on a Thursday is just like, sounds good to me, man.
Starting point is 00:32:45 It's always a party. And I was like, no, it's not. Not with four little airplane bottles of fireballs not, sir. Are you going to be dead in the park in four hours? Possibly. It just turns to your tap in the morning. Exactly. There we go.
Starting point is 00:32:59 It's nice to have a bottle of liquor in the house. Or if you go to a party, you bring a big bottle of liquor to the party. these little bottles of fireball it's just it's a signal serve scenario yeah yeah cinnamon cinnamon liquor have a seat it tastes even better when you're driving
Starting point is 00:33:15 so yeah Greg Jermaine is like pleading for his life or whatever while Chuckie he's like ha ha squirt gun but got you again pulls the fucking plastic bag over this guy's head I'm not sure if we talked about the last one does he have the strength of a man
Starting point is 00:33:33 the strength of a doll. I think he has the strength of a man. Okay. That's the only way any of this makes sense. Otherwise, we are bankrupt. Because he's fucking like tossing Chris Sarandon around. Much like a rag doll himself in that first movie. Maybe it's an extension of the
Starting point is 00:33:49 voodoo. Yes. It would have to be. And the eye of an eagle. But like, also you know, you've got this kid, he's damaged goods, traumatic experience, up and down the board. Maybe not so much like scary clown shit in this house too? Like this room's
Starting point is 00:34:07 got clown shit. Not just the room it's the whole, the house is very clowny. There's a lot of clown decor. And I don't think that's a good idea. It's like pink and blue. It's a very bizarre 90s house. Yeah. Because we were all upset. There was like artsy clowns,
Starting point is 00:34:22 like all the posters from like back when you used to see like clowns at like an opera stage. Yes. That's like that was what was cool at the time. So it's all over the fucking place. And you have the kid who's most. scared of that shit in your fucking employ. Has anyone
Starting point is 00:34:37 ever known a kid that actually liked clowns? I've never met a single. No. They're always crying in front. It's like something kids liked at the creepy turn of the century. And for some reason we're like, let's just keep them around. Oh yeah, we want to have the hula hoop with the stick. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:34:53 Just run down the street with the stick and the hoop. And especially like, because now, yeah, they have been relegated to like children's birthday parties and the circus. Like we no longer, you know, the Pogolese. of the world. They've been driven back. They've been beaten to the circus and sent back to their own.
Starting point is 00:35:10 Exactly. You can only if I can entertain six-year-olds and people who are entertained by the circus. That's it. There's an actual history that they've hidden where there were clowns just walking around, going to work, like clown people. That's what it's all about, Eric. It's about the return. Return of the repressed.
Starting point is 00:35:26 You'll take a large coffee too fireball. Hong Kong. Cloud's going to work. Oh, that guy's going to work. So when he's a party, that's the cloud work. Hey, bozo, thank you. Would you like some cinnamon refreshment? My clownish friend?
Starting point is 00:35:46 Only if it comes out of a flower into my face. You got it. We do see, yes, Jenny a gutter is not thrown out the Tommy doll. We do get Chucky P.O.V. Like, running up to the house. Well, she's, Mrs. Simpson here is reading Hansel and Gretel to this kid. again and like she doesn't finish the story like she makes up a bullshit like and then they all
Starting point is 00:36:07 went home and it was fine what's a creepy book I can read exactly and then the kids like that's not how it ends I was like yeah he's fucked up he knows that these kids got eaten she realizes quickly like oh I should be reading this to this kid yeah exactly
Starting point is 00:36:21 so Chucky enters the house and this is a great man the laughs in this I think there's more laughs than in the first movie like hi I'm Tommy shut up you idiot And then Chuckie like beats this Tommy doll to death and buries it. And here's the problem. A shallow grave.
Starting point is 00:36:42 Yeah. Well, this is, we were talking last week about digging graves and how they're so precise and whatnot. Yeah. This is what it would be like if the four of us tried to dig a grave. It would be shallow. It would be crooked and fucked up. Yeah. No precision whatsoever.
Starting point is 00:36:54 But if they be like a doll dug that. You got the strength of a man, Chuckie. Let's keep a little better. Right. Because now he is taking the. roll of Tommy. That's right. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And so he in the night breaks that fucking statue, so the next morning
Starting point is 00:37:08 is Garrett Graham. That's what he breaks over the doll's face. That's right. He beats the doll to death with the ceramic antique, which is very funny. Well, that's, I wish Chuck you had a friend. Somebody to tell him, like, you know, it's, you can't beat it. There's not a serial
Starting point is 00:37:25 killer in all of these. Yeah, that one's not feeling nothing. That's got nothing. That's not, there's Ted Bundy ain't hanging out in there. Good guys. A serial killer in every doll. That'd be great. Honestly, you know, you clean out the prisons. Oh, I got guinea seat.
Starting point is 00:37:42 Oh, wow, we got Bundy. He's so handsome. Gotta go to work at my chocolate factory job. Hey. They still let him go to work. Hi, I'm cruising the college campus. You girls want to move in? Oh, cool.
Starting point is 00:37:57 The Green River killer. He doesn't talk to anybody. I got BTK. He comes with his own duct tape roll. Oh, that's amazing. I would love BTK. Oh, man. If you would answer my letters. Oh, you're going to marry him. I'm going to marry him.
Starting point is 00:38:17 Is he dead right, Dennis Radar? Oh, did he pass? I forget. That sounds right. Was that the Oscar in Memorium Real? I forget. I will remember you. Killed 32 women.
Starting point is 00:38:30 Oh, man. My dad got me the auto erotic effigiation playstead. BTK, we're going to have all kinds of fun this summer. Comes with its own necktie. He is still alive. Oh, good for him. Wait, you got arrested? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:47 That did happen. That did happen. Okay, listen, this is a true crime podcast now. I want everyone to give us a high score on the reviews because we're true crime now. You know, I went to the store. You know, we're a Latino family. I wanted to get Richard Ramirez. wanted my son to be able to see himself in the doll.
Starting point is 00:39:04 It's also... Representation matters, especially amongst nightstockers. And see, and then the Ramirez one comes with a little Sean Penn. And they can hang out together. Anybody else read about that? How Sean Penn was in jail for a little bit of time. With the nightstocker? And the nightstocked him talked.
Starting point is 00:39:22 That's hilarious. Great, Sean. Thanks. So there's the great scene where Kyle and Andy are in the basement doing laundry and Kyle is smoking. And it is this little kid just hitting this butt really quickly. It is so funny. 1990, you're still allowed to do it because they get, they get grounded because Garrett Graham does the who broke the thing. You know, Joanne is very upset now because of what happened and someone needs to come forward and nobody, you know, Christina Lisa and I didn't do shit. And he's like, the doll did it. It's like, oh, right, well then. Yeah. Oh, fuck. Still talking about this doll. Come on.
Starting point is 00:39:54 It's not like fragile things just break. He, you know, he then overhears. He comes after smoking in the basement, he comes up the stairs and overhears the Simpsons talking. And this is where Garrett Graham is like, this kid just requires more attention that we can give him. And Mrs. Simpson is like, yeah, I kind of like him though. The conversation about returning him back to the pound is so good. We only have two weeks and then we can't do it anymore. Because that's the thing. I mean, again, like in a movie where he's a bad guy, he's like, ah, that little shit maybe like grabs him, smack some or something.
Starting point is 00:40:27 Right. This is fair. It's like, I don't know. I don't know if we have the resources and stuff. It's like, no, you're gonna get your neck broke, dude. It's fucking great. You're gonna find a resource on the basement floor in a few scenes. I do like when Andy
Starting point is 00:40:41 is looking at what he thinks is the Tommy doll, which is now Chuckie and he says like, I hate you and all this stuff. And it's a really great Brad Durf. Hi, I'm Tommy. Tommy. Yeah, Tommy. Yeah, like he almost says, Chuckie, it's so good. And Andy does the check. This is a reference
Starting point is 00:40:57 to the first movie. He turns it over and checks to make sure the dollar has batteries in it. Because that's like what convinces the mom in the first movie. She turns it over and like, oh, it's been moving around for a week without any batteries in it. So that's maybe what duchess chucky at the end is battery acid? Because
Starting point is 00:41:13 they are branding their own batteries I thought it was xenomorph blood. I thought Wayland Utani was operating the factory. Yes, Waylon Utani is acquiring the good guy toy company. Honestly, there's some pretty advanced fucking robotech
Starting point is 00:41:29 going on the baseball. We'll get to it in the factory. It's insane. It's so good. But so Andy takes chucking into the basement and but then we like Garrett Graham I think throws him down the stairs right here. He's like, see, he's in the basement. He's not going anywhere. Which again, just throw it away. Why does it need to be in the house at all? Exactly. $15, Diane. But there's, I like this one scene though.
Starting point is 00:41:53 Oh, actually, Garrett Graham, I don't think is thrown it away because Andy has it outside right here. They're on the swing set. That's right. And he's asking about, like, do you remember your parents much? Oh, no, because when he overhears that, you know, this kid might need whatever, Andy is like, if I play with this doll, they think I'm good. Yes, yeah. So he starts hanging around the doll. Yes, yes.
Starting point is 00:42:12 Good guys, yeah. And there is this great, like, Christina Lisa is on the swing set. Yeah. Or Andy is one of them or whatever. And, like, Chuckie is just kind of, like, in the back of the shot, which is cool. And she's swinging. And it's the where he has buried, the Tommy doll is right under the swings where you're, you know, feet would hit the dirt while you're swinging.
Starting point is 00:42:31 And it's really great, like, because they don't animate him in this moment, but they just show a still, like the dolls being still. But you can tell it's Chucky looking at the hole, like, don't fucking kick him up. Don't you fucking kick him up. I don't want to see a little red and white tennis shoe. We're going to all go to hell tonight. There is a, oh, there is a little sexiness that night. There's a Mr. Simpson making a move on Mrs. Simpson, a little.
Starting point is 00:42:58 shoulder rubble. This kid's driving us crazy, isn't he? Garrett Graham's trying to get a move in here. Let's make him hear it tonight. And because it's 1990 on the dot, we are making Valium jokes like Garikram's like Oh, maybe the boy just needs a little Valium.
Starting point is 00:43:15 He's busy. But then I think it's, no, then it cuts to just Andy is tied up by this doll. Because he's doing the ritual now. Yes. Did you miss me? You know, we're going to play hide the soul. Okay.
Starting point is 00:43:31 And as we go right into it, there's another fucking Dumbala spell. We're going through the whole thing. And Christina Lees like interrupts the thing. Because she's sneaking into the house. She's a bad kid. That's right. He's tied to the bed. And she got,
Starting point is 00:43:44 they both got grounded and she was going to go have a date that night. She snuck out presumably and had that date. Right, right, right. But yeah, she comes back through the window and interrupts everything. And she's like, how did you tie her up like this? tie yourself up like this Andy and he's like no it was it was Chucky he's trying to steal my soul oh
Starting point is 00:44:03 Andy by the way another thing that's really unsettling about this child's room this Andy's room setup is like the bed is on a diagonal in the middle of the room for no reason and it's unsettling the fungshui is out of control that's ridiculous bad vibes yeah you can't do
Starting point is 00:44:19 that shit they might have been previous devil worshippers and this is now you know they have like it's a demon doll that's close enough you want Move the bed over the pentagram kind of. I do love Garrett Graham, like, busts in. He's doing like the what's going on in here or whatever. And he thinks that Christina Lease has tied this child to the bed so she could sneak out and he wouldn't tell on him or tell on her.
Starting point is 00:44:43 Which is very funny. Total sense. It actually does. Works on paper. But this is the major L.O.L of Garrett Graham's like, I've had enough of this and throws the doll down the basement stairs. And it's Chuckie, like he wakes up. And he realizes like he's got a nosebleed with that tall son of a bitch
Starting point is 00:44:59 threw me down the stairs. At this point, Chuck, you have to realize you ain't getting out of this body, man. You're getting nosebleeds? He's got this. This is where I think he says, like, if I don't get out of this body soon, I'm screwed. So he's starting to be able to actually be injured.
Starting point is 00:45:12 Yes. In the first movie, can he be injured like this as well? Yes, because he goes to the guy who taught him all of the rituals or whatever. He's like, I got fucking shot yesterday and I'm bleeding in the shoulder here. So that is still. happening. I mean, it's
Starting point is 00:45:28 delightful. It's just like it has, even though we saw it rebuilt in the factory, it still bleeds. Yeah, it leads. The most horrifying part of this movie, I think, or one of, maybe at least. This woman,
Starting point is 00:45:44 Jenny a gutter, Mrs. Simpson here, given this child an egg salad sandwich to take to school, what are we doing? That egg salad is sitting in a cubby until 11.30, 12 o'clock? He's not making any friends. You know what? I'm going to hold. I was going to hold my
Starting point is 00:45:59 judgment until I saw it. But then you don't even see this thing. Yeah. Like I there are people out there who can make a really good egg salad sandwich and even you put a low amount of mayo to make sure nothing goes too crazy. But I need to see that shit. Because nine times out of 10, it is way too much mayo.
Starting point is 00:46:15 Way too many eggs. And it's just sloppy made. You're just gotten fucking tomatoes running out of this thing. So, Chekhov's egg salad sandwich? So yeah, if I had seen it, maybe I would hold judgment. But the fact that I don't see makes it fuck this later no no no but here's the thing though it doesn't matter she could have made the best egg salad sandwich in the world chris this child is taking it to school in a paper bag where it's going to sit on a shelf egg salad is going to sit on a shelf from like 8 a m till 12 like four hours of room temperature that could be bad that could be bad his teacher bet grant has to be like oh god you oh god sparkle motion thank god she's here i yeah i was missing her uh we do yeah we get to school i do love they get on the school bus. A couple of kids are shitty to Andy, whatever.
Starting point is 00:46:59 But the little doll legs dangling under the school bus to show you like Chuckie's following her is so great. Just practical little doll legs. I love it. It's like Sightshow Bob. Yeah. But yeah. So we get to school.
Starting point is 00:47:14 There's recess. We're like bouncing a dodge ball against a fence because he's all parent. He doesn't want to talk to anybody. Like this kid's got problems. He's not going to be good for a while. No. And so while everybody's out at recess, Chuckie is in the classroom
Starting point is 00:47:27 and they've done some little like drawing assignment or whatever and you clearly know he's looking for Andy's sheet for one reason or another. I do like very funny line or thing little detail. Beth Grant, the teacher is reading Pinocchio which is just it's very
Starting point is 00:47:43 very good. I like all that. He's being teased and like you know he stands up for himself and he's like well we don't talk back in my because he's Beth Grant she's going to do it. Miss Kettlewell but yeah some asshole kid like flicks his ear or something thing and you know he gets he gets blamed for everything I mean honestly that one when he's on that school bus for the first time yeah and some kid just randomly shoves him so hard yeah oh yeah out of nowhere
Starting point is 00:48:06 for nothing new fish dude see that's the thing is that's that's problem being a boy body that's the problem being exactly I wouldn't want to go back through that shit again dude like that's that's the problem like you get bullied you gotta go back to school dude if you if you're at eight what if I start hitting the gym at eight I got like little muscles you're gonna have other problems them. There was that some influencer that was like this was years ago. This was before influencers existed as we know
Starting point is 00:48:33 them now but it was just some story online like a little jacked boy. He was like a tiny little like German kid and he had like long blonde hair and he was just cut but he was like 10 and he just had like muscles and he was just like little god. That is disturbing. He looked like it was like a tiny
Starting point is 00:48:49 little Vigo the Carpathian. He was just this jacked little fucking kid. You can't have that in your house. That's like getting a chimpanzee from zoo and just letting it run It's fair. It's gonna fucking rip your balls off Exactly, yes. You're trying to sleep at night.
Starting point is 00:49:01 Suddenly your balls get ripped off. Royd rage is bad enough, dude. You imagine Royd rage and a fucking little kid? That'd be bad. Fuck. But so she's like, you're going to stay after school. And then what really gets it is this fucking assignment that this doll is doctor.
Starting point is 00:49:18 It was to say, fuck you bitch. Just ripping crayon. I didn't do it. She's like, yeah. did it. And it's, oh, well, Chucky did it, and she takes the doll and throws it in this, like, classroom closet and locks the door on him or whatever. That's
Starting point is 00:49:32 the thing. I'm kind of not surprised he got shit. I would imagine, since it got out there in the big wild world, that this kid had blamed his doll for a killing spree out there, you would think kids nationwide
Starting point is 00:49:48 would catch on to it. Well, no, the parents are like, no more dolls for you. I'm not going to have you turn into that. little piece of shit. And then my fucking astronaut figure got taken away from me. I fucking hate you. They think it's going to kill the baby. But so
Starting point is 00:50:05 Andy is in detention and this doll is just screaming at him to open the door. He's banging on the door and whatever. And so Beth Grant comes back in and here's the screaming. He calls him a little dick. Open the door, you little dick. You are one and you got one. Now open the door.
Starting point is 00:50:23 And I want it to be mine. Not that way. No. Just to use. To have it. To have it. I would touch it, but it would be mine. To use and touch it every day.
Starting point is 00:50:33 No, not like that. You know what? Just get out of here. I need to get out of here. But Andy getting called a little dick and screamed at. He jumps out the classroom window, which thankfully is on a first floor. And he just, he runs away. She comes back in, opens this door.
Starting point is 00:50:49 Andy, what are you doing in here? And is like looking around, looking around. Can't fucking find him or whatever. This closet, this classroom closet, it's got some board games, humongous. A little walk-in deal, yeah. A lot of jackets, like, who's leaving their jacket over at night there? I was...
Starting point is 00:51:03 All the dead children, I see. Was this during, like, a recess or something? Or was this after school? This should be after school. I think this part is after school. Interesting. So, yeah, I guess it's, yeah, her victims. Maybe it's a thing where it's like, because it is like a Chicago area school, maybe it's a thing where it's like, if there's a crazy change in the
Starting point is 00:51:21 weather all of a sudden, like something comes off the lake, You need a backup jacket. Yeah, yeah. That could be. But yeah, you're right. Otherwise, I don't know what this closet would still be stuffed with coats. But my God, this little doll jumps out of nowhere with the fucking air pump and stabs her with it and pushes some air into her. Good night, Gracie.
Starting point is 00:51:39 You don't have to then beat her to death with a ruler. She's just getting whipped with this fucking yardstick. I love this shot from outside of the window and you like see the yardstick going up and down, up and down. That's great. Oh, man. But actually, it would be kind of better if this was a Catholic school and it was a fucking nun getting getting a taste of her own medicine. He told me to put the yardstick in my anus. But so, yeah, the Simpsons are like, hey, Andy, what happened at school today, dude?
Starting point is 00:52:10 You're fucking teacher's dead. And it's the old Chuckie did it, blah, blah. This is a great garagreb. Just open the door. Open it. Open the door. Chuckie has made it back to be in the same position that he was left in, which is very impressive. that this dude was able to like doll jogged back from school.
Starting point is 00:52:26 It's Ferris Spielers Day off. Dinner's ready. Looks great. It'd be great if he's on the floor like in his doll for it but just kind of breathing heavily. No, that would be interesting, the slow motion, him coming down from the trampoline. A doll bouncing off a trampoline is very funny. But yeah, Chucky laying on the floor. Garrett Graham, because Andy called, he's like, Chuck he did it, Chuck he did it, Gary Graham.
Starting point is 00:53:01 His name is Tommy. Oh, my God. So, yeah, we're just, the Simpsons, these poor people are fighting more. What are we going to do with this kid? He needs professional help. Is this what you call a family, which is a wild line to throw out? It gets wild because she's like, oh, you know, you wouldn't send someone of your family away. Is this what you call a family?
Starting point is 00:53:24 The door slams? He's not our child. Oh my God. Christina Lisa's just like, I am smoking a cigarette. Okay, honey, honey, calm down. Just, you know, let's think about simple things we can do to make this better. Why don't you, I don't know, I got it. Throw Tommy into the garbage.
Starting point is 00:53:42 No! No! I will not! Can't do it. But that would solve all of our, I don't care. It's $15. That's two McDonald's meals at the time. Look, I know exactly what's going to happen. We're going to be rid of this kid. Someone's going to take him.
Starting point is 00:53:59 And then you're going to want to bring another one in. And I'll be happy that we haven't thrown that doll out. That's fine, because she's going to want it. The new kid, the new kid that will come after the bad kid will like this. Yes, hi, Mrs. Zabriski, yes. I want a regular one this time. Okay. I don't want any of those weird ones.
Starting point is 00:54:16 Not creepy ones, eerie ones, fucked up ones, nothing. Normal. Setting normal. What do you mean you've heard that one before us? Well, we do have one that was born a clown. Let's see. What else do we got in here? Oh, here's a little girl.
Starting point is 00:54:32 She says she's 10 years old. She's actually a 23-year-old Eastern European gymnast hiding out. How don't you adopt that? See what happens. Oh, orphan. Oh, and O orphan first kill. Hell yeah. The sequel that shouldn't work, but super does.
Starting point is 00:54:49 Take a seat. Oh, wait, my mistake. totally fine actually I do like we got a later that night and there's some POV and you think it's Chuckie it's a nice subversion it's Andy grabbing the electric carving knife
Starting point is 00:55:02 for self-defense you have this thing charging it all out this is a Thanksgiving thing that goes in the closet it comes out twice a year exactly right Thanksgiving and you got to do it on the Christmas ham
Starting point is 00:55:13 too let's get that out of the way you never actually needed it guys we moved away from that I think it's charging it all times And you have a little, again, they have a little kid in the house. And it's just at counter length, you know, counter height rather than you can just touch up and grab it. You know what?
Starting point is 00:55:29 It's just you sickos who won't use this beautiful machine on a stick. It's an easy way. You can cut this thing easy that way. It's a little easier. I've always wondered this and I'm pretty sure that this is why it was like invented, right? Like the electric carving thing, it's for people who don't know how to sharpen their own knives. And we've just had like a like a fucking epidemic of like, well, the knife's dull.
Starting point is 00:55:50 These knives are too dull for this turkey. Oh, like it's so hard. I've used muscle or resistance, but this is like a saw. But even if it's hard, it's because your fucking knife isn't sharp enough. I've never seen one in the wild in real life, like IRL. My family didn't have one. Uncle mine had one. It's just, it's Slop City, honestly, because it's a serrated blade.
Starting point is 00:56:11 It's like a bread knife going into a fucking turkey. Shit's going everywhere. There's a little chainsaw, really. It's a tiny, it's a kid-sized chainsaw, funny. I've never seen one used even at this point. Yeah. I mean, they're impractical.
Starting point is 00:56:25 Like, I don't know anyone that has one now. I think it's kind of like a faded. I feel like my family might have had one for like a year or two. I think they threw it out. Yeah, I'm sure it breaks immediately. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:56:34 yeah. Like technology, we realized like we didn't need that invented, like the fucking clapper or things like that. AI, yeah, yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:56:41 Things like that. Things like that. This is, yeah, this is like a kid, Texas chainsaw masker, kind of. Or Texas Chainson Masker Jr.
Starting point is 00:56:47 maybe. Oh, there it is. That's the, That's the cartoon. Lil leather. Yeah, Lil leather.
Starting point is 00:56:53 And now he's like, it's like the Beetlejuice cartoon. He's suddenly a good guy in helping you. Totally. Yeah, he's calling some little girl babe. Yeah. Hey, babe. Get the sledge, babe.
Starting point is 00:57:04 Oh, no, leather face followed me to school. Get out of here, leather. Oh, no. He made a nice chair out of Tommy's bones. You get bullied in school. Well, leather will look into this. well that is interesting
Starting point is 00:57:21 he's putting children in woodshippers to help this other to help the girl yeah what do you mean you want to make me into a futon a leather they sit on the fucking house that Jack built at the end yeah we're moving
Starting point is 00:57:38 we got some new digs and it's a house made out of corpses hell yeah so yeah Andy goes down to the basement with this carving electric knife here and he's like stabbing the clothes in the dryer he thinks Chuckie might be hiding in there Chuckie gets the drop on him
Starting point is 00:57:54 one of your classic oh fucking screams I would be pissed if that kid started fucking cutting up my clothes slashing the fucking pillowcases or whatever was in there yeah I was waiting for the first of many because you do it so well
Starting point is 00:58:07 at the beginning of the episode you took a deep breath I was like oh is you going to do it I've been on desperate to hear oh there you go I thought about doing it at the beginning, funny enough. And then in my head, I was like, did I do that at another time we talked about Chucky?
Starting point is 00:58:21 So I didn't want to repeat myself. No, no, certainly not. But yeah, so he's fighting. Again, the classic Chucky move, the biting of the shoulder, the biting of the ear. He's a little biter. I hate the biter. He's got his little teeth. He's chomping on people here.
Starting point is 00:58:33 It's gross. We're going to be fucking inseparable, he says to this kid, which is awesome. And he kind of, like, he, like, knicks him with the thing. He gets him with the thing in the head here. Can't wait to be inside your butt. man, even hearing it now, it's bad. But uh-oh, this fight
Starting point is 00:58:51 is broken up, this little basement brew ha-ha, because here's Garrett Graham. In pajamas, that it's head to toe he looks like Alec Baldwin's shirt and Beetle juice. Just the white and the black and white, like checkered shirt that Baldwin has, it's that but in full PJs. I just feel like I'd wake up
Starting point is 00:59:07 fully sweating, but I guess Chicago's a little colder out there. These, you're right, these look like they do not breathe. Yeah, yeah, at all. You want like a broad cloth or something, not a flannel. Like Garrett Graham, he's probably got sweaty legs. Oh, yeah. Oh, four. And he's thick-ass PJ pants.
Starting point is 00:59:23 He's got sweaty everything if he's got this stuff on. I think, just in the buff, right? Is that what he should be doing right here? You should just wake up naked, dangling. I think when you start to have children, you give up the right to sleep naked. You can't you sleep naked anymore.
Starting point is 00:59:38 No more dangles. Or if your dog also sleeps in the bed, sleeping in the noon. I'm actually against sleeping in the nude because... Getting shitty sheets? That's never been a problem. No, what I mean... In my bag of my mind, I'm always, in my bag of my mind,
Starting point is 00:59:57 I'm always, what's bursting down the door to get me? Oh, okay. I got to be called into action and fight 13 men I might have to do it. So you don't want to find yourself waking up and all of a sudden you're in like an Eastern Promises situation. You got to fight a dude naked. And as a kid growing up in the middle of nowhere in the woods, I was always like, be a fucking a little.
Starting point is 01:00:15 in any day now in this room. So you sleep in full camo fatigues, ready to go. Right. Right to go. Exactly. He's fucking sleeps in a goddamn swat helmet every night. Four different knives under his pillow. Just my sexy undies.
Starting point is 01:00:30 Hell yeah. Negligé. No. No. So, Garrett Graham, what's going on in here? He goes to walk down the stairs. Chucky just trips this dude and he's like
Starting point is 01:00:43 hanging upside down. how is it hang and fill which is so awesome. Well here's really quickly what does Garrett Graham do? We see him go to business business. Later on like this basement has like two cigar store
Starting point is 01:00:57 Indians in it like it's just a very bizarre. It's the antiquing dude. They love the antiques. And that's the shit you do keep in the cellar. I guess so. Yeah, it's fair. Yeah, he breaks his fucking neck.
Starting point is 01:01:07 Oh, it's so great because yeah he's like he's hanging like above upside down. He hasn't fully fallen off the staircase. And then Chuckie like cuts whatever he's holding or whatever and this dude just breaks that's the thing about this movie even Freddie would be somewhat that but like your last moment
Starting point is 01:01:22 on this earth is like holy shit magic is real and then you're dead you know what I mean the second you didn't even get to embrace it or fight it you know one of the other Beth Grant same thing oh my God magic is real and now she's dead the Lord God is fake well that's I mean that's the punishment
Starting point is 01:01:37 you don't get you know you didn't believe it in at first now you don't even get the fucking enjoy it dude I love Jenny a gutter coming down these stairs and realizes what's going on and Andy's like right there. And she does a really good Brendan Glazing, get away for me. Yeah, exactly. She's done with it because she's been sticking up with him the whole time, but now he's killed her husband.
Starting point is 01:01:57 Yeah. Her knowledge. And hilarious at it right here. We just cut to this woman throwing shit in a suitcase. Get this kid out of here. She's like, I should have listened to my husband. A little kid's suitcase is kind of funny to me. I don't know what it is.
Starting point is 01:02:11 I'm not packing a kid's suitcase and kicking him out. But the problem is, it is very funny, but I wanted, like, a little hat and a little suit and a little, like, a notepad that's just for babies. There's something for any occasion. Yeah. Baby office supplies. Yeah. Well, what you're describing, though, is something that we don't have a lot of anymore because now, like, you know, a kid's luggage thing has to have fucking Spider-Man on it or frozen and it's got wheels so your little lazy piece of shit can ride at the airport or whatever, all that stuff. But what we're talking about here is a suitcase.
Starting point is 01:02:45 That's just a beige nothing suitcase, cliplock, like that kind of snap lock shit. Right. But it's just smaller. It's just a smaller, tinier, exact model suitcase. He's like a tiny Willie Lohman at this point, just walking around in this big old suitcase going from town to town. So he's like a failure, but he's like a tinier failure. That's the key. And, you know, so Andy is going back with Grace Sibriski.
Starting point is 01:03:10 And he's saying to Kyle, like, you know, he's still in the cellar, Kyle. Don't let him get you too. And this girl's like, smoking. And I think that's sort of why I like this movie. Hey, I've got a little bit of a thing for Christine Elise. I've always been an Emily Valentine fan of way back. And she's just a more compelling lead than Catherine Hicks, I think. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 01:03:31 In the sort of quote unquote final girl mold, I would say, you know? Well, because like this character is just more interesting than like a mother who's screaming the whole thing. Yeah, exactly. She's fine in that movie, and I do like her in Voyage Home. Yeah, exactly. But, like, that's just kind of annoying in that way. It gets a little too annoying by the time you're in the third act in that movie. Exactly.
Starting point is 01:03:52 Yeah, like, Christine Elise kind of keeps it a little fresh. We're kind of, like, moving and grooving. It's hip, you know, like, yeah, she, like right here, we see her throwing Chuckie in the garbage. What, she's like, should have done this fucking days ago. Exactly. In the trash can, and then she lights up a butt, and she goes to sit on the swing set again. swinging away, thinking about that foster brother, she's probably never going to see again. And then her foot nicks something in the dirt.
Starting point is 01:04:16 And she looks down and pulls up the fucking Tommy doll and is like, uh-oh, goes back to the garbage can, opens the lid. And Chuckie has left the garbage can. Cue this girl pissing her pants. Well, yeah, so she knows magic is real a little earlier. She's got some time to wait into it. She freaks out. She grabs a knife, runs into the house. This World War II dagger?
Starting point is 01:04:38 I don't know what this thing is. That's how you defeat Embala, dude. You got to stab it right through the heart with the magic dagger. But she freaks out and she runs upstairs and uh-oh, wouldn't you know, there's a Jenny gutter, Joanne just fucking dead, strangled and throat cut. This doll did a number on her. At the snowing machine, Joanne's fabrics, done for her. She was Joanne of Joanne fabrics.
Starting point is 01:05:01 That's right. Not anymore. Yeah. Oh, who gets a fortune? That'd be something. If this just suddenly became a whole like, uh, who? Who's it? Inheritance drama?
Starting point is 01:05:11 Yes, yes. Who's going to be in the will? It gets the fabric's fortune. And then somehow it goes to the magic doll. That's the twist ending. That's how it works. Yeah, I got the inheritance. I'm stuck in this body, but at least I'm rich.
Starting point is 01:05:24 Yeah, it's because I'm managing a fabrics company now, but whatever. Hey, I'm going to hire some girls to rub my bum. Yeah, you just, then he wears like a little suits. He slicks his hair back. Like, he's stuck in the body. Right. He doesn't have to dress a good guy all the time. No, he's making the best of it.
Starting point is 01:05:38 Go to a small tailor. Come on. No, finger in my battery hole. Just do it. Just a little bit. Just play with it a little bit. I got a tiny, I got a tiny Armani suit off. Flick the little springs in my battery hole. Oh, yes, God. Flicked me on. Flick me off. Flick me on.
Starting point is 01:05:59 So she sort of like sits down on a bed, I think. There is a cool shot of Chuckie like sitting up with the sheets on it, which is kind of neat. But again, we just go right. This dude is just going through the greatest hits. He's fucking biting her shoulder now. Well, the way thing about Charles Lee Ray as Chuckie about to go inside, he wants to be Andy, he wants to turn into Andy. Then why are you getting Andy sent up the river all of the time?
Starting point is 01:06:22 Do you want to spend the rest of your life an institution? That's true. No, you want to, you want to pump this kid up. You got to get good grades, Andy. Exactly. Get this kid to befriend you. Don't kill his foster parents. No, don't kill his teacher for no reason.
Starting point is 01:06:35 He's the lead suspect. Yeah, you're not. totally right. Chucky does not know how to run this scam properly. So, yeah, she fucking like smashes him with a lamp or something to get away.
Starting point is 01:06:47 She is, Christina Lease, I will say, is playing the right mix of this is scary, but also this is such an incredibly stupid situation that I find myself. It's a doll who's after me. It's not just like a creep
Starting point is 01:07:00 from the bar who's following me home. It's a magic doll. And it's trying to, okay. Because she comes back. I think she's on the show and she's in a couple of those movies. I saw that she's listed as those because I haven't seen them.
Starting point is 01:07:13 I don't know if it's like flashbacks. Oh, interesting too. But yeah, I do know that she's on the show as the present day character. But yeah, cannot confirm that it's not just clips, but you know, I'm sure people out there will tell us. But so, yeah, we're having a fight here.
Starting point is 01:07:30 Chuckie grabs a knife. Bitch, you hurt me. You know, as we fight this thing here. But major L.O. and I don't know how, I guess it's just because he's got a knife on her. It just cuts and he's making her drive the car like at nine points. It's pretty funny. And it just, this situation of like she's driving, it just reminded me, it's not a one-to-one,
Starting point is 01:07:50 but I just, I was reminded of Toon's the driving cat. Yeah, you're going to drive this fucking car for me. I'm a dull navigating. Drive cat drive. Floor it. Get real. This is a station wagon. Shit.
Starting point is 01:08:05 Pull over. Is the cops pull him over because he's going to drive faster, faster, faster, faster? What's your name, buddy? Like, this cop talking to the doll is very funny. The cop loves him. It's one of those good guys. I love those. Love those dolls, dude.
Starting point is 01:08:20 Yeah, I'm a fucking 30-year-old man. I love that doll. They're awesome. Oh, really? Have a seat. And then, like, the doll. You don't know me. Chuckie starts getting a nosebleed, but the cop is like, what's going on with that doll?
Starting point is 01:08:34 And quick thinking here, Christina. release. Yeah, you know those dolls that pee? This one bleeds. And the guy's like, all right, on your way. That sounds fine. Sure, whatever. You know, keep it, keep it under the limit, which is very funny. Shut up and dry before I kick your fucking teeth in. So good. Just a doll threatening people is so funny. The harsh of the profanity, the funnier it is. And she's been help. She's been fine. She's actually been like telling you like the station way, tell him the limitations of the car. Exactly.
Starting point is 01:09:08 She covers for you with the cop. You're in it together. He's like, we're just going to get pulled over again if we fucking go faster. Exactly. But then when we get away from the cop, she pulls a fast one here and jams on the break
Starting point is 01:09:19 to which this doll goes through the windshield. Which is crazy because how much does he weigh? Exactly. Yeah, it's like you have the strength of a man. Would you like go through the windshield with the force of a grown man as well? Like, is that how that works? It's clearly not the weight of a man
Starting point is 01:09:33 because Garrett Graham was able to tossing. Oh, right. he's tossing him everywhere. Yeah, you're right. It is, I mean, breaks through the windshield. It's pretty crazy. It's a fucking doll going through a windshield, though. It's pretty fun. I guess it is a movie and I should really just relax. He does have a fucking
Starting point is 01:09:46 women drivers joke, though. Oh, yeah. God damn women drivers. She peels out to go he tries to like, she tries to smash him against a wall. Oh, that's right. But the, she just smashes the car and then he's got a plate times over, like knife to her, a neck
Starting point is 01:10:03 or whatever. And then we're back to the orphanage basically. Yeah, we pull the fire alarm right here. Andy sees Kyle with Chuckie, like getting... Like, this... She's holding the doll. And we're playing it as if, like, she has been taken hostage, like, at gunpoint by somebody.
Starting point is 01:10:20 And it's just a doll with the knife to, like, the back of this woman's neck. Like, yeah, just keep walking into the orphanage. Nice and quick now. Keep it easy. Everybody's happy. Yep. One boy body to go, please.
Starting point is 01:10:34 Thank you. but she Grace Sibrisky gets murdered at some point by Chuckie right that also happens that happens around here doesn't she like oh she falls into the copy machine I think he stabs her and then goes
Starting point is 01:10:48 and then all the copies that's fun it is it's always it's also another like that's a really embarrassing way to die it's funny as fuck for everybody by you but that is kind of embarrassing well yeah that'd be fun the next day Rebecca
Starting point is 01:11:00 look at her face oh gosh she's dead like what Andy sees And then he's like snap out of it. You act like you never seen a dead body before. Matter of fact, I know you've been around several of them. It's the second fucking movie. Wake up.
Starting point is 01:11:17 The fire department shows up because the alarm has been pulled. And this is where Chucky and Andy jump into the back of a Chicago Sun-Times delivery truck. Was that an Ebert or did the fiscal write for the Times? Oh, right. They were divided, right? Hebert was Sun-Times. Okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:11:35 I love, man, that intro is so good. Especially the one where they're like getting concessions. Oh, yes, totally. Yep. And fucking Siskel has a briefcase and he opens it up and it's got like the Coke, you know, the soda, fountain soda cop. Yeah. I was looking for a cop.
Starting point is 01:11:57 It turns out I was looking for a cop. All right, baby. You just roll with it. He's got popcorn in there. Anyway, let's go on. Uh-huh. I'm like, da-da-da-da-da. The truck and everyone's giving thumbs-up.
Starting point is 01:12:07 Chuckie's giving Ebert a thumbs-up. That is I, that's my favorite part about the intros is everyone around Chicago is giving them thumbs up for various things. In one of their iterations like, Ebert's like buying a hot dog and the guy's like, yeah, thumbs up for selling Rod for Ebert a hot dog. Give me a good review, you pig.
Starting point is 01:12:25 Raj takes a bite of the hot dog, thumbs down. throws it on the ground. Oh, Raj. But Kyle, like, sees Andy, you know, running off and is racing after this truck. And this is, I realize this kind of feels like now the movie is one character short. Like when Christina Lee, Kyle is chasing after this truck, it just feels like there should be another person.
Starting point is 01:12:49 Yeah. Maybe it's like a shitty boyfriend character or something who's along for the ride. I can't believe we're doing this. One of those guys. Well, because he can't be watching two people at once. So you want someone else to be the other person in that dynamic, I feel like. It's usually a boyfriend or Andy, but we're not there yet. Another body count with meaning towards the end.
Starting point is 01:13:08 You could kill that boyfriend. Right, yeah, exactly. But Kyle runs the truck off the road, basically. This truck driver calls her a crazy bitch. For a second, I thought this dude, because he kind of looks like Paul Winfield. Not Paul Winfield playing this truck driver. I thought this guy is going to get it, but he does it because we happened to break down right in front of the good guy's factory, if you could believe it. Just made it.
Starting point is 01:13:27 Just made it to the good guy factory. But he must also be evil if your logic. That's a good point. He must be something. He signed something. So he was doing human trafficking in the truck? Oh, yeah, probably. Back there, yeah.
Starting point is 01:13:39 You got to look behind the stack of newspapers, you see. That's why he was all crazy about being pulled over like that. He thought it was like the feds. He's got Roger Ebert back there all hot tide. No, Chuckie, I got a bunch of people. I've buried a bunch of people underneath my house. Okay, you're all right then. What's Roger doing back there?
Starting point is 01:13:59 Oh, he's giving the kidnapping a thumbs up. We're doing a good job kidnapping Roger Ebert. Very well done. So he's trying to do the Dambala spell again in the factory. The clouds are coming over. The whole thing. He does the spell. And then realizes he's still bleeding.
Starting point is 01:14:16 And uh-oh, Charles Leary, you've run out of time. You are stuck in a toy, my friend. He's furious. I've got to be in this fucking thing for the rest of my life. I'm fucking trapped in here.
Starting point is 01:14:26 He's fucking screaming. Oh, it's so good. Then Kyle dumps a bunch of boxes of good. guy on him. And I really like this run through. It's clearly a shining reference of the two of them holding hands as if it's Danny
Starting point is 01:14:40 running through the hedge maze at the end of the Kubrick film. So this factory is open all night. Because we get in there it's dark. When we come out, it's light. It's light. So this is like midnight or later. Right. And it's running all night. Running these dolls.
Starting point is 01:14:56 It's this automated stuff. One guy is watching it, not on the floor, but from some control room. No one else is there. Okay. That's right. That's when we bring all the factories back. It's going to be like this. One guy. We're bringing ones of jobs home. You want us to waste more money on labor? That's fucking disgusting. I've never heard such a thing. Also, the demand is so high, Steve, you know? We're selling a thousand a day. All night this fucking line is just going. Well, if like that cop is to be believed, adults have interest in this toy too. So we're selling in two markets, kids and adults. Oh, man, I love those. Yeah, I bought some right after that murder thing. I thought it was cool. Oh, man. Yeah, I bought one. I was really hoping to call my.
Starting point is 01:15:32 my wife a stupid bitch, but it just says hi, my name's Jeff. I got Jack the Ripper. It's just all fucking English slang that I don't understand anymore. Oi! Slang from the 1880s, I don't get. But it is sort of a maze. That's the other part of it. Like, this place is very inaccessible.
Starting point is 01:15:50 They have to climb over like a roller to get out. I'm like, this isn't how a factory should work. And when they climb over the like the roller thing and they get past like, it's like you're on like a Nickelodeon game show. You get past the fucking I. guy thing. The exit door is locked. It clearly says exit. This is what happens we have a non-union shop. No one's running it and you can't get in or out. Well, a robot
Starting point is 01:16:12 doesn't have to run to escape a fire, so why would you put an emergency exit in your factory? That's fair. But, yeah, Kyle closes a gate on Chuckie's hand. Yes. And it rips off. I'm going to get you, fuckers. It is kind of great. The face acting
Starting point is 01:16:28 of the doll matched with Braddorf's great performance. It hurts this doll to rip its own hand off. It really does. And they, like, they do such a good job of, like, this puppet pulling its hand off, and it's, like, sinewy. And there's, like, tendons and muscles and shit. It's so fucking weird.
Starting point is 01:16:46 It starts spurning blood, which is great. It's so good. Way more moving than 127 hours. I'll say. This is a much more... Well, you forget the part of 127 hours where he frees his arm and then takes a knife and jams it into the nub like happens. and the holy fuck this is
Starting point is 01:17:03 and Dyrf is just like just jamming this fucking thing and it was messed up and bloody nub oh my god it's brutal or you could just use your other arm you would think so maybe and then he's just got I hate kids
Starting point is 01:17:19 if you're a doll that bleeds can you bleed out like how does that work? I guess and it probably takes less time minutes well then I mean it depends of Dormammu smiles upon you. That's true. I guess, yeah.
Starting point is 01:17:34 What's it? I'm using, I keep on saying the Dr. Strange shit. Dumbala. Dumbala? I think it's D.A.m. Is that a real guy? I don't know. Probably. I would hope not. I hope we're not disgracing some religious figure. I would never want to cross them. Well, better safe than sorry.
Starting point is 01:17:50 You might want to look it now. Light a candle tonight. I'm just going to say Dormamu to be safe. Sure. There you go. There you go. We got, yeah, the one guy that's working is, the dude who's got to go clean the fucking clog out of the torso shoot. That's all I can think about was that says it,
Starting point is 01:18:07 Leroy, get your assing gear. But this guy's like trying to fix it or whatever. And it's, yes, it's a thing comes down with two plastic ping pong balls for eyes and puts them in the doll automatically. This motherfucker gets turned over by this doll and it comes down. And this guy's looking like Judge Doom with this.
Starting point is 01:18:25 Oh my God. These fucking cartoon eyeballs that he's got. It's covered in blood too. It's just awesome. Oh, man. Chuckie's like Oh, there's one part two Where he's like, he's like stapling his hair back on or something
Starting point is 01:18:39 Which looks pretty fucking brutal Or no, it's a hair Oh, that's what it is. It's a hair, it's a stapler to put the hair on the doll And he gets it in his little doll crotch Is what he's like, ah! Yeah, his dick gets stapled to the thing. His bump.
Starting point is 01:18:55 And then he gets into like this smashing machine where they put the doll together. Yes. Oh yeah, Dwayne the Rock. Johnson's in there. Yeah, I'm here assembling toys when I'm not making a thousand movies a year. Thanks, Smashing Machine. You got it.
Starting point is 01:19:09 I'm going to take a ton of painkillers now. Or my wife. Oh, they have Advil. They're giving it away like candy. Final three, you want some? But so comes out a mangled husk from this device. And there's a great, I think it's Christina Lisa.
Starting point is 01:19:27 Holy shit, we did it. I don't think the kid's saying, holy shit. So it's got to be her. This dead. technician like swinging down like Chuck he's still alive. This guy's hanging like Predator got him. She gives him the finger at some point. I think it's when he
Starting point is 01:19:39 when his balls get stapled and he's going and he's like come on Andy let me go. I was just kidding around. Yeah he does I was just kidding around move. And she gives the finger because he gave the finger to her earlier. But it's actually not Chuckie comes out because Chuckie then she notices like half his body's been cut off.
Starting point is 01:19:55 He's been like vivisected. And he's crawling around with no legs. And streaking blood of course. which is great and then he's like I want to cut your fucking legs up telling the kid you're gonna cut his fucking legs off
Starting point is 01:20:07 pretty funny yeah I was laughing Lord knows I was laughing but yeah he's going after him with the fucking knife hand thing which is just the funniest thing and he gets the knife hand like stuck in something
Starting point is 01:20:19 and then it's right by we have already set it up because it almost hits Andy in the head I think it's like hot plastic that they're making the doll molds out of something and like Andy a few minutes back like it's like
Starting point is 01:20:31 like right by this kid's head misses him but then Andy opens the valve and all of this fucking hot plastic falls on Chuckie oh God it's good oh it's so good a lot of Chuckie's screaming as he's being melted and at the same time much like
Starting point is 01:20:47 a looney tune Kyle is on this conveyor belt and she's going up the hill and she's about to be decapitated by the thing Andy saves her a little too slow to save this girl I know he's a little kid but hop too will you get there yeah she's in trouble and then of course because just like in the last movie this thing keeps
Starting point is 01:21:05 fucking coming back no matter how destroyed it is he melted chucky attacks right here and it is i just wrote major l-o-l it's disgusting the funniest grossest thing screaming and yelling and then kyle jams an air tube into this doll's mouth and his fucking head explodes it is so cool it's wonderful and when he the head is kind of blown up he kind of looks like a garbage pale kid for a second I don't know if that's like a direct reference. I've never actually seen that movie, but it's too gross from my taste. Is that right?
Starting point is 01:21:36 Yeah, it's gross. You never gave it a try and you turned it off? As a kid, I was like, oh, that's disgusting. Yeah, it's very disgusting. Oh, these are gross. Reminds me. It reminds me. It's in the name.
Starting point is 01:21:42 They are garbage pale kids. It reminds me when Penguin comes back and he's vomiting all the black stuff. He's still trying to do the umbrella. They all need an ice cool drink. No, fuck, I can't do it. I got the cute one. So, yeah, Chuckie's head is blown off. And I have to say, we are just,
Starting point is 01:21:59 in and out right here. No fucking around. We're going home. Where's home? Andy, I have no idea. Right to credits. Kind of cool. I like that. I like that ending. It's just like everybody, like the authorities are pulling up to the toy factory and everything and they're just ski daddling. Apparently the old man is in the third one, which we've done a million years ago. All I remember is the fact you'd fallen on a grid. I don't remember anything else about that movie.
Starting point is 01:22:22 Same. And I honestly, I tried to double dip last night. I was like, maybe I'll do both so I can get the movie that's on the either side of this one. Yeah. It's the opening. The opening is the old man is got the doll and he's like in his office and he's like making some recording. Oh, is that? Oh, I don't remember that. And then Chuckie kills him. Is that Professor Nobi making it? I've never seen that because I wasn't on that episode.
Starting point is 01:22:42 Oh, I mean, I'm with Steve though. The only thing I remember is there's a fat kid who throws himself on a grenade and saves everybody. Andy has been sent to military school in that movie. Somehow the Chucky gets out of that and finds who is, I think it's the bingo kid. I don't know for sure. Yeah. It is a different. kid and it's a kid who has been in a lot of stuff.
Starting point is 01:23:01 I think it's the bingo kid. Bingo, where just as a reminder of folks, a dog testifies in court. Also, I think the dog also drives a car in that, I think. It does indeed. Well, you had to get to the courthouse some. We'll have to do that some. We absolutely will be doing that. But yeah,
Starting point is 01:23:17 Andy, I have no idea. End of movie. We'll go around the horn here for some final thoughts, Mr. Siska. It's a recommend for me. I was always kind of like, you know, oh, it's a doll. I don't really like these movies because I can't get over that fact. But, you know, I just bought into it the other night when I watched it and I had a really
Starting point is 01:23:35 good time with it. I think it's, it's, it's well-paced, it's quick, it's got good kills and a fun performance from multiple cast members. So make it your, wait a way or no, thumbs up. Oh, there you go. Look at that. Chris Cabin? A light recommend.
Starting point is 01:23:54 I enjoy a lot. I think I just these movies until it gets, like, like, Like, I kind of need these movies to be crazier than they are. That's why I actually think Seed of Chucky is the best of all of these. Oh, it gets pretty crazy then? Because it goes crazy. Like, just like, buy into the whole thing. Go nuts with it.
Starting point is 01:24:11 Like, there's a bride there. He's a kid. Sure. That all make go right ahead. Have a feast of it. Anyone of note voicing the baby? It is, and I'm forgetting the name. But it is somebody you know.
Starting point is 01:24:20 Garrett Graham. Not Garrett Graham, but it is somebody you know. Oh, okay. But this is, this was still very enjoyable. I had a fun time with this. There you go, Stephen. Yeah, total I got it, by the way. I think it's my favorite of these because I've actually never seen seed,
Starting point is 01:24:33 and I have not seen even the latter ones after that. I saw Bride. It was just too campy from my tastes, honestly. Three is a bit silly. The one's kind of boring. I'm not the world's biggest fan of this franchise. This one was, it's quick. It's got all the things I want in it.
Starting point is 01:24:48 It's kind of fun. Yeah, it's a recommend. Is the child Glenn and Glenda, we're doing an Ed Wood thing? I believe so, yes. Billy Boyd from Lord of the Rings. That's it. That's pretty cool. Yeah, no, this is a recommend for me.
Starting point is 01:25:02 Yeah, I am not a big watcher of this franchise. Yeah, one through three I've now, I've seen the original trilogy multiple times. These were big USA network movies because, like, it's not a ton of gore and, like, the language you can edit. So, like, these were horror movies you could play on TV very easily. So those first three, I've seen a ton. And yeah, I thought Bride was fine. I watched the pilot of the television show. And I actually thought it was kind of cool.
Starting point is 01:25:33 Yep. You got Devin Sawa running around on that show. So, you know, I think it will be, because I was saying this, I think of the Big Daddy Dispatch. On our Resident Evil Apocalypse episode, which came out like late September, I was like, hey, would Resident Evil be my Halloween franchise I go through? Then like a fucking loser, I just watched them all before September even ended. So I think I might try to watch these final ones that I haven't checked out yet and rewatch three also and just do all those ones
Starting point is 01:25:59 in the aughts the weird ones the cult of Chuckie those are very weird and there's another one that I think Fiona Dorif gets involved in those she does she does yeah yeah but it's um yeah because it's uh three bride seed curse cult and then there was
Starting point is 01:26:15 one what do we have oh then the series yeah in 2021 the series started so they don't uh they don't qualify that um yeah remade as so yeah it's because the 2019 is not totally of these, but still kind of enjoyable in its own way.
Starting point is 01:26:31 Oh, and Tim Matheson also in that movie. That's right. I think Brian Tyree Henry might be floating around. But anyway, yeah, this is a recommend. I agree with you that it's an I got it, by the way, situation. We got a better handle on the puppet. We're not wasting a bunch of scenes trying to pretend like it's not a puppet. You know, so there
Starting point is 01:26:47 you go. Big recommend, but that is going to do it for this episode. We've done a couple of the movies. We never actually done Scooby-Doo proper. This is Scooby-Doo proper. It is to switch away. which I believe was like a Halloween episode. Oh, well, there you go. And then Friday, we're closing out the week with another Gleepe Glossary. Yes, we are talking about Baudubaz, which is a character. Are you trying to get into a boybody right now?
Starting point is 01:29:07 By the power of Baudubas. Open this Jedi Holocron. Yes, so this is our Star Wars side show. This is a very tertiary character in the Star Wars canon. He's like a floating lobster, and we're going to get into all that insanity on the Gleep Glip Gloss. Hell yeah, dude. This kind of sounds like the guild navigators from Dune.
Starting point is 01:29:27 Well, I don't think so, but I mean, yes, but like not, yeah, not a one-to-one. No, no, no, no, no. But also, follow us on Instagram and TikTok at WHM podcast. That'll be a bunch of fun as well. And so next week, Steve, one more, WHM entry in the 2026 Halloween sputacular. And we're asking some friends to join along for the ride. Starting point is 01:30:38 So until next week, when we're joined by our dead meat friends to go back to the hood, I've been Andrew Juppin. Steven said. Eric Siska. Chris Gavin. Take it easy.
