Starting point is 00:00:37 Hi. And we are just catching up on motherhood and everything. So it's been happening since she last came on. We've got some very juicy dilemmas. We talk about stingy friends. What do you do about them? And lots more. It's a good episode.
Starting point is 00:00:49 But we hope we enjoy. Hello, tinys. We're back. Actually, this week it's Georgia instead of Melissa, because Melissa is on yet another holiday. Hi. Actually, it's funny because Melissa's not like she's not missed any Wednesdays. So probably, well, do you know what it is?
Starting point is 00:01:12 Probably because I've had so, sorry, it sounds so. So little holidays. So privileged right now. I've had, woes me, I've had so little holidays. But because I've been so pregnant, I've not really left the house much this son. My son has been very different. Same. Georgia, the last time you were on this podcast,
Starting point is 00:01:28 asked. How many months what old was Bella? I think she was like two and a bit months and I brought her with me obviously. She was a newborn baby. Yeah. Was she breastfeeding? Yeah. I think you put her on your boob in the podcast. No, I did in the green room. Oh, you did. And can I tell you something that I
Starting point is 00:01:44 still to this day find absolutely, and like good for you, but you would just whack that nipple out. No, no matter who was around. No, yeah, I had no fear of breastfeeding. Do you think I'm going to... No, there's nothing wrong with breastfeeding in public, Nor is there like, but do you think, because pre-baby, did you ever think you would just whack your nickel out? I will say, I know some people find it weird breastfeeding in public, as in, in, as in, you should never find it weird other people breastfeeding in public, because it's every right to do that.
Starting point is 00:02:12 But I feel people, some mum's like, oh, I feel embarrassed. But, and I thought I would, but I feel like once I started breastfeeding, I don't, didn't see them as boobs anymore. Yeah, they were just like a sort of food. They were just like a feeding tool for bells, and I didn't ever consider that they were boobs. Because for me, what I will never forget about, this is also like, Farsi sounds really weird and like with some weird family. But Farsi, the first time you did it when Dad was there. And I was like, oh, no. My God, Dad is seeing your bare nipples.
Starting point is 00:02:40 I really didn't like doing it in front of dad or my father-in-law. I hated breastfeeding in front of them. But then when I didn't at first, obviously, I would like go into different room. But when they're like really newborn, they breastfeed loads. Like all the time. And they were like in my house. all the time so eventually I just thought well you're probably going to feel more awkward than me so you either leave the room or I could I can't keep leaving in the room no no and of course I will be
Starting point is 00:03:08 breastfeeding in front of dad but the thing is it's like it just I it's all so new to me and I do have this idea that I'm just like am I going to just whack my boob out you might you might not you need to weave your boob into their mouth it's not as what people think they don't just go mm-hmm that's the other thing so then often your boob is just out in the open air because the baby's like put it being difficult and you're like there's no other option when they get a bit older they get better you just slip them on oh my god it's all too many it's all too many things to think about I'm just picturing like me sat here right now and just like weaseling my boob into a baby's mouth it just like blows my mind all of it and like the concept when did you this is really off topic but when When did you start collecting colostrum? Oh, I started, I think you're meant to start at like 37 weeks, aren't you? And I think I started 36 weeks because I heard that the reason they don't say too early is because it can bring on labour quickly and I'm so desperate to get up for her as early.
Starting point is 00:04:12 I remember you like, she's going to come early. She didn't, yeah. Yeah, I was convinced. So, but yes, about 36 weeks I did. So guys, from this is, Colostrum is something that is like, it's breastmilk, but it's like called gold. golden milk. It's like the most nutritious it's like yellowy and all everyone's slightly different colours. Ew!
Starting point is 00:04:33 It is there. It is. And it's what you feed the babies when they're first born before they like before your milk comes in. They live off cholesterol. Not everyone has to do this by the way you don't have to squeeze your colostrum like aged her own. No but if you can it's just good to have us back up because Bella didn't latch for the first like 24 hours. Did she not? No. I can't bear the thought of it can I just tell you because my nipples are so sensitive like
Starting point is 00:04:58 ow yeah to was it sore yeah but actually you should have to well I had to squeeze on there for ages I'm obviously gonna give it my best shot but like the thought of so basically you milk your nipple four weeks before your due date and you collect this thing in a pipette and then you freeze it sorry the whole thing
Starting point is 00:05:19 is so mental but so many people are like it's a faf I'm not gonna do it which each their own I will be giving it a go but did Barry try and do your husband? No. He was next to me on the sofa. We were just like watching a film as I was doing it. And I'd be like, oh my God, look, I've got a whole stroke and he'd let it. And how painful was it?
Starting point is 00:05:37 It's not painful. It's like a bit sore. Like I'd be like, oh, but achy because it just took so long. So you're just like milking it's so long. But the thought of like squeezing my nipple now would be painful. You don't, yeah, but you have to, um, it's not like just the tip. It's like all around. Oh, I thought you just squeezed the ariola.
Starting point is 00:05:54 And I was like, the thought of that is like agony it's like wider okay wait I just got a couple more questions that I must ask about perineal massage yeah did you do that that is for those listening if you wanting to do vaginal birth you don't want to tear you massage the inside of your vagina in a you shape and mostly the husbands do it very the thought of it no I did mine I did it once on my own and I was like this feels weird yeah I know
Starting point is 00:06:27 I didn't do it again but I did tear second degree tear but I think most people tear I think like 99% of people tear that's a made up stat but all of my friends have torn even if they've done the massages so like
Starting point is 00:06:45 I wouldn't put your back into it too much if I don't want to they've all torn what badly torn and then you have to stitch. Every single one of my fans that I had a journal birth had to get stitches. I mean, let me know if you know anyone that didn't. Yeah, I do actually. Two babies.
Starting point is 00:07:01 So lucky. Two eight pound plus babies. Wow. She perinealed every single day for a whole solid month. To be fair, that's probably what I went wrong then. You've got to really go for it. Okay, so we'll deep dive into motherhood just quickly because last time the lesson I saw you, you had newborn two month old.
Starting point is 00:07:18 You were very much like, I don't like leaving her. rightly so she's two months old and all the rest of it yeah still don't love leaving no jay i am going back to work soon um which i am not looking for me jaking no because it's scary no yeah yeah i do you know what so many people have said to me because i've been like oh god i just feel it's not necessarily i don't i'm not even really thinking about actual work it's leaving bella and so but so many people who have gone back to work have said to me you'll feel like that now but it will be nice to you to get back into routine and have a bit of time that's your own.
Starting point is 00:07:55 It's just so daunting. So I'll see, yeah. And I feel really happy of our child care situation. So that's like a real ease off on my mind. But yeah, I really don't like leaving her much. Oh, genuinely I just love spending time with her. She's your bestie. She genuinely is my best.
Starting point is 00:08:14 So really, I would love to be like, well, give the listen something juicy to think about, but really it's just been the best. seven months of your life. Yeah, no, genuinely truly has. I was actually thinking about this the other day, but I saw someone post. I feel like sometimes people like, people like to be really like, it's so hard and it's quite negative about it and it is, you know it's hard.
Starting point is 00:08:35 I obviously tell you the hard bit, so I'm like, call you crying when I need to. Not really. No. I don't think you've told me one hard bit or cried to me once, genuinely. No, I must have done. Georgia, you haven't. Not once. Well, there have been times
Starting point is 00:08:50 I've had an awful, awful sleep. I mean, she's still not an amazing sleeper. Well, actually, she's all right, quite good. I don't think you've been upset about it, though, unless you call mum or dad, but you're not calling me. No, I'm never upset about her sleeping. It's not her fault. She's a baby. Yeah. But I don't think you've ever called me like, I'm exhausted.
Starting point is 00:09:07 I've spoken to you and been like, there's lights run and no one's home. Like, multiple times, but you've never been like, I'm so tired. Oh, I am so tired. Like, how tired of you? the whole time. I'm mostly really I mean, I'm having a coffee at 4 o'clock.
Starting point is 00:09:23 But I need to ask a question. She's sleeping very well now. Yeah, she is. She actually slept 7 to 7 last night, which shut up. I know. She never sleeps for 7. Oh, you're getting way more sleep than I mean. I'm up every 35 minutes. I will be. Well, and also, I, everyone says this before you get birth.
Starting point is 00:09:39 And I do agree. Lack of sleep when you're pregnant is worse than lack of sleep when you have a baby. Like, you're also used to the lack of sleep. Then by the time you get into like newborn phase but I don't know I feel like when you have a baby when you do sleep you go like you pass out like you are in a deep sleep yeah because you're so so whereas when you're pregnant your brain is just racing yeah I feel like when you're pregnant you're like all constantly
Starting point is 00:10:01 half awake it's insomnia yeah I think it's low level anxiety is what I'm putting down to and no women speak about it I think it's just like a constant level of anxiety because you're just thinking what the hell is going to happen to me yeah but then I also then have got savage and anxiety, postpartum, and it's kind of remained. Great, I don't know what I'm really like. Because I am a way more anxious person, you are, for God's sake. I'm really not sleeping well, it's not good. You'll be fine, and yeah, it's just,
Starting point is 00:10:32 this is the most annoying thing for people to say, so it's preparation for you, because you're not going to sleep anymore. You know what, I actually prefer that with them when people go, get all the rest you can, I'm like, and what rest? Also, like, what? Sleeping now is not going to help me feel less tired in three months. time. I have a good night's sleep now. I will say that I definitely think I'm out of the sleep like it's been like a good month of no sleep and I'm like functioning fine on it whereas
Starting point is 00:10:54 Jamie's like I don't I'm awake because I he wakes up the whole time I'm away and he's like I'm a zombie he's like I can't function I'm like babe I'm fine. Well good luck yeah good luck have you guys like um discussed what you want to do like what to split the workload like when you have first have your baby. No what do I do? I think I'll do exactly what you do. He'll do a dream feed. But like in newborn, newborn, when they just, like, feed when they want. Oh, God knows.
Starting point is 00:11:23 Well, he's going to bring me cups of tea and food and hot chocolate. Basically, I'm just hoping he'll be, like, at my back and call. Although he was like, but I'm going to, like, go to the gym every day. And I was like, are you fuck? Yeah, very thought of that. But then he obviously didn't sleep. Okay, well, just, I think Jamie will be quite good. He's quite good at, although, God, he's a moody little bitch today.
Starting point is 00:11:44 He is so moody Like bitchy moody Like he's literally like He's like Oh I feel so well You know I've had this cold I'm like I've just given you my cold Like it's a cold at the end of the day
Starting point is 00:11:58 Like you'll feel worse You can't take anything Exactly Exactly And at the end of the day It's just cold And he's like I'm so ill Like do you I not get any sympathy
Starting point is 00:12:07 And I'm like no And he's like I'm so tired And then he's like All right thanks You know and they're like that and you're like, whoa! There's nothing worse.
Starting point is 00:12:18 On another day, have you been watching The Real Housewives of London which is brand new and just come out? Yeah, yeah, yeah, have you? Panthea is a lot. A lot.
Starting point is 00:12:27 I feel like she keeps saying she's very authentic. It doesn't feel that authentic. No, no, no. When she said to the lady, I love your eye contacts, I was like, bitch, come on. Yeah, that's not nice.
Starting point is 00:12:39 So mean. But she knows what she's doing because she's getting a hell of a lot of airtime and she's really good TV. Yeah, she is. I think Amanda's my favourite to watch. Really? I don't feel like she's said that much.
Starting point is 00:12:51 Yeah. But that's why, because she's Lisa Vanderpump vibes, for sure. She's going to be strategic, I'm sure of it. I think Julia Angus will be really good. I never watch Ladies of London. I watched a little bit when I was in my newborn face, postpartum, and I was watching every single bit of TV that's ever existed. Because that's what we do.
Starting point is 00:13:10 Okay, so tell me what I need to watch. Oh my God, you need to save loads of shows. I have done. Don't worry. I have loads on the list. I'll tell you them. Right. Firstly, I'm the luckiest pregnant woman ever because Love Island All-Stars is in January. Yes, I lived.
Starting point is 00:13:26 And also what I did. Oh, yeah, you were the same time. Yeah, so this is what I did and it really got me through actually. So I would, obviously, you go to sleep before Love Island because that starts at 9pm. So at what time am I folding off to sleep? Right, this is a tip actually I was going to tell you. I, when we started. introducing bottles and like we I'd pump breast milk put it in a book bottle for bears
Starting point is 00:13:46 then I would go to bed at 8pm sometimes 7 lovely for me yeah and then Barry would have Bella to like midnight and he'd have my pump breast milk and then you know you've got four hours sleep at least that's my sorry sorry so um you're trying to tell me that from 12pm I'm 12 a.m I'm awake for the rest of the morning no you might get like an hour here and that are you fucking getting me Can I just say guys, when I tell you on the week two that I came around to see you and you had not complained once about your tiredness, this girl was running on pure love
Starting point is 00:14:23 and adrenaline oxytocin. Like you were in cloud, cuckoo land, like having the best time ever. And I went around and I was like, I've never seen you look like that in my 31 years of life. Like you didn't resemble my sister and nothing about you. And I was staring at you thinking, is she going to comment on the way you? she looks because I don't know if she's okay I got in the car I called mom I was like I don't think George is coping and she was like she's fine I was like mom she doesn't look well
Starting point is 00:14:50 what my bags are your bags no no Georgie you were great you were green and your bags were honestly talented I do remember hollow I remember looking a picture in fact I think I posted a picture of Instagram just being really loved up my newborn and now I look back they are they're like purple they were so deep and like your face was like so lacking of nutrients I'm sure of it like you just hadn't seen the you hadn't slept for weeks I think you did two solid weeks of no sleep I think so yeah like I don't remember in the newborn days like to me it's like you know when something's so hectic like you look back and you're like I can't remember one minute it was basically like night and day were the same yes yes which I'm weirdly really excited for
Starting point is 00:15:39 Yeah, so right, my tip for Love Island. Yeah. So go to bed early, but then have it on your phone on eye player, have your headphones at the ready, when they wake up for a feed in the night just pop it on, you can watch 15 minutes, it really distracts you
Starting point is 00:15:56 because I used to really get into it and I'd be like, I'm not bothered if you're not going to sleep. Wait, sorry, could you just explain that to me? So you watch it for 15 minutes at 11pm? Yeah, like, say she woke up at like midnight, I'd feed of like, it probably take a half an hour. So I'd watch half an hour of it then. Then I'd go back to sleep.
Starting point is 00:16:13 But then I'd be thinking, I can't wait to watch the second half of that. So when she woke up at 3 a.m., then I'd be like, oh yeah, I get to watch second half Love Island. Okay, right. And then I'd always have pretty much finished the whole episode by the morning. But, because I'd watch it throughout the night. Oh, my God, you're literally not tonal.
Starting point is 00:16:28 Yeah. Throughout the night. And then do you sleep in the day? Oh, people say sleep in there. I found that most annoying advice ever because you just can't. Yeah, what the hell can you sleep? Also, who can sleep in the day? Yeah, and most of the time your baby wants
Starting point is 00:16:39 sleep on you so obviously you can't sleep then so what you can do also like you're not going to go to sleep with the baby next to you in the cop because what if she wakes up and yeah and most of time she would wake up as soon as I put her down so and maybe like twice like twice in newborn stage I had a nap in the day but did you manage it what on the sofa next day yeah or I'd be like as you just half a fracking hour I need to go to bed to bed was there any points that you're like this all the time yeah in the day so tired so what did you can you just tell me like what a little bit of a one day routine like a savage days routine i just don't i feel like right just picture she wakes up at five so you've gone to bed at eight
Starting point is 00:17:19 gone to bed at eight but i've been like up and down all that long like i stay in bed because you're breastfeeding so that's easy so you're right but then also back in newborn days you don't do this so much when they're older because they don't poo and pee through the nappy when they're older but like you have to do a nappy change when you feed them you have to burp them like all of that takes it takes while the feeds it's not like stick them when you'll be up for five minutes, back to sleep. It's like a whole plava. But yeah,
Starting point is 00:17:45 you wake up, say you wake up at five. No, but sorry, you're just missing in Crucial Park. You've been awake all night up and down. You're acting like, oh, I went to bed at seven and I went up at five.
Starting point is 00:17:54 Yeah, I might have fallen in a seat at like four and we're back up at like half five. Oh my God. Yeah. Oh, my God. And then you think, okay, honestly, I think I stayed in my jamas
Starting point is 00:18:05 like until like 11, like a lot of the time. Which I'm so. confused about all these newborn mums right with like two week old and they are glammed up to the night's out and about no way it was and i go that's not what my sister did no what i wasn't doing but how could you i don't know i don't know must have like a million halber yeah it's only one way that was like yeah no and then i don't really honestly i feel like right i'm talking about the first like three weeks yeah that's what i'm talking about too so you're just put them on your boob, pop
Starting point is 00:18:40 some TV on. Good thing about when they're very little you can watch them as TV as you want. You're not ruining your brain at that point, I don't think. I did it anyway, so... Yeah, love it. God's a take, you can't do that. Yeah, can't help you. Barry would go out, get us some coffees, maybe some breakfast. So cozy and lovely. It is actually.
Starting point is 00:18:56 It's a really nice time of year because it's like raining outside, you're cozy in bed. I swear to God, I just stayed in bed and watched TV all day, breastfed, vent at one point get a shower, brush your teeth, wash your face I will say I don't mean to be rude to anyone
Starting point is 00:19:12 having a baby in the summer but that's a lot tougher Yeah because you'd feel like you have to get out and about more I think Although nice to be able to go a nice long walks of your baby There's always a silver yeah Each has got their pros and cons
Starting point is 00:19:24 Hasn't it Yeah but I do think it's nice and cozy Having a newborn in winter It's cozy Gorgeous Just want to hibern it You just want to be like The three of you
Starting point is 00:19:32 Cuddled up in your For a solid month Yeah Hold up in your room and like or like have like a lovely space wherever go down to your like snug area and just like snuggle and watch lovely cozy Christmas films and just breastfeed and have snacks all day
Starting point is 00:19:47 it's really nice how starving are you with the breastfeeding oh yeah I was so you were starving weren't you and craving sweet stuff which is apparently a real thing yeah I really crave and gasping for water from start to finish yeah get your like standies at the ready
Starting point is 00:20:03 that's what Jamie's do all day refill your Stanley And what, how hungry are you and how much water are you were drinking guzzling down breastfeeding? Like four standings, five families day. And what, how starving are you compared to pregnancy starvation? Oh, about the same. I just remember thinking like, oh, I won't be so hungry anymore because I was not pregnant.
Starting point is 00:20:20 But I was like, no, just as hungry actually. And also definitely like, had more cravings than I ever did when I was pregnant. And that's what I found. That's really interesting. It might have been in my head that I was like, oh, I'm breastfeedinging. I deserve a little tree.
Starting point is 00:20:35 Yeah, but surely when you're pregnant, you're like, I just have a little tree. Yeah, I treated myself throughout both as much as I want. That is fascinating. You don't learn any of these things about how, like, how, like, top taxing it is to breastfeed. Yeah, breastfeeding, I think really takes it out of you. And also, when, like, what you don't realize, like, you're like, once you start, like, they start crying and you're like, oh, I can't give you my boob. You could be locked in there for then, like, an hour or more, and you're like, oh, I can't move. So that's why you need to have at all times
Starting point is 00:21:05 drink and a snack and the TV remote or your phone in reach. Oh my God, there's so many things. You really do need an extra pair of hands. Yeah, I think that's what they say. It takes a village. So Molly May's vlog, which I absolutely love. And I've been telling you for years to watch it
Starting point is 00:21:23 because firstly YouTube, you would love. I know. I've just not ever gotten to YouTube, but neither of us did. But I have later in my later years of life. And you would love Molly Mays. So obviously Bambi now, her daughter, two-year-old, is in it a lot. She never used to be. And Molly gets called.
Starting point is 00:21:40 She's bitten somebody at school. And Molly's like, you know, do I pick her up from school and not get her an ice cream? Or do I get her an ice cream? Because, like, is that rewarding her for biting them? But then she's two and everyone's biting in this nursery. They're all biting each other. Anyway, she tries to tell Bambi about that your mouth is for food and not for biting people. And then Bambi really sweetly lists off like a tent.
Starting point is 00:22:03 however many, like five people that she's bit in the nursery. Well, then she's like, I bit this person. Monny's got loads of mumshed. Like, people have been really mean to her about it. Mum shamers are the worst. Like, people are so mean to moms, I feel like. What do you mean? Has anyone mum shamed you? To be fair, actually, no, not really.
Starting point is 00:22:24 But I do just see it a lot because obviously my whole algorithm is like babies and moms. And, yeah, obviously, everyone parents differently. and you have this quite maybe like two sides of parenting where it's like the stricter routine this side or there's more like less strict and I feel like they're quite against each other but with like the Molly May thing I don't know how I discipline a two year old
Starting point is 00:22:46 I feel like they're still really babies barely can speak English she's a tiny little thing yeah like you can't like she's not got high-fiving her for breaking people like what she meant to do they're saying well no yeah I feel like that's a really hard situation i don't know what i would do you know what apparently is really hard which i can't wait for
Starting point is 00:23:07 because obviously bella's like she's quite advanced i think for her age isn't she i feel like she'll start talking quite soon yeah um it's when they come in and they're like they say really mean things or like they shout swears or anything like that and you like have to just keep a straight face but apparently they'll be like mommy your boobies are so why are they so saggy and you have to be like well already now apparently so i was reading because Bella's really bad at throwing her food on the floor but like she doesn't like drop her food she's like lobbing it over her shoulder and hitting the back wall of the kitchen i know she's doing on purpose because she looks me and goes oh my god what do oh well i obviously you're not supposed to
Starting point is 00:23:46 laugh i read like you can't laugh but it's sometimes it's really funny so i like yeah so i'm like we don't pray for you i'm awful i laugh at everything bell at us like she literally every single thing i like pissed myself laughing i know i'm it's really hard So, yeah, I feel sorry for money me. Okay, right, we could talk about that forever, but should we get into dilemmas? I broke up with my ex about six months ago, but a few months later, I slipped up and slept with him when he came to drop my stuff back and then I found out he's also been seeing a mutual friend of ours they've been on five or six days and had slept together the night before he saw me no I was horrified but when I confronted him he tried to gas like me saying it was my fault
Starting point is 00:25:17 for not asking more questions that was it for me I cut him off and the poor girl had no clue fast forward a few months her brother who I've always thought was gorgeous starts liking my stories and eventually DMs me we started chatting and I mentioned that my end was seeing his sister but obviously spared him the messy details despite the awkward connection we ended up going on a date he planned the whole thing it was so sweet and i actually really like him but now what do i do should i keep dating him or am i getting myself into unnecessary drama here's a pick of us for context love that we have a pick i'm going to the pick's going to say all to me right that's the brother cute zoom in george's such a zoomer right but on
Starting point is 00:26:02 miles away. I know, but I just also want to ask people, do people zoom in on Instagram photos? I've never done it in my life. I do. She zooms in on everyone's face. I'm not on everyone's face. She zooms in on my face sometimes. You're gorgeous and I'll tell you exactly who you look like.
Starting point is 00:26:20 Michelle Randolph. She does. Right, listen, I know what's happened here. You two are both like very, very everyone fancies you, right? I'm gauging that. Like, you've not had any issues in that department. and you both have gone for like a typical bad boy, and then the brother's like a really solid nice guy.
Starting point is 00:26:38 That's what I'm gauging. Yeah, he looks nice, the brother, I do. He looks lovely. So I think my advice would be to keep stick with him and let the other guy go. Yeah, but she's now saying if she dates the brother, she's now still linked to her ex because the ex is dating the sister. Oh, I know what you mean, and she hasn't told the sister they cheated.
Starting point is 00:26:58 Yeah, and what if they both marry them and then they'll all, her and her ex will be in the same family. And they cheated She didn't know that Also can I say It was not your fault To ask questions Whether he'd slept with someone the night before
Starting point is 00:27:10 Because that is just actually ridiculous I agree with Georgia Everything you're saying it It's absolutely not your fault What a gas lighter Yeah that's awful He's also not just sleeping with the other girl He's shagging at everyone in London
Starting point is 00:27:21 Listen I think that you've got to go with your heart And like if you fancy this guy Just cross that bridge when it comes Yeah you never know They might break up you guys exactly like why would you risk not being with someone who you have like a solid collection with over the fact this sleazy old sleazeble slap with you do you think it's she should tell the girl though that he like is it cheating that he slept with his ex when he'd
Starting point is 00:27:46 been on like five days of this other girl no I know what she should do though she should now if she really likes the brother she should tell the brother yeah because if he finds out he like you're such a bitch why didn't you tell me that's on my sister you should you don't know the sister well right they're vaguely mutual friends I think you should confide in the brother because you've done nothing wrong in this situation Yeah and then the brother is up to him Sashi will probably end up that guy forever but fair enough
Starting point is 00:28:10 Well yeah and maybe the brother if the sister's like You know a little sister vibe She'll listen to her old brother and then he'll be out of the picture Yes it seems like he's a bad guy anyway If he's sleeping both of you one night after the other I mean that's just like really not nice It's unhygienic It's unhygienic for sasses
Starting point is 00:28:27 I hope it wasn't both in his bed That's all I have to say I know, he was at her. Oh, God. I really think that the first thing you should do is, like, even if you're not going on a date, I'd almost just like urgently be like, hey, can I give you a call? So it looks like you're like, it's on your mind. Because you don't want the brother to be like, why didn't you tell me?
Starting point is 00:28:47 So, like, you went on a date, you put the feels now and you're like, this has been on my eye, like, I just, I need to tell you, like, this happened. Have they been on date here on the birthday? Yeah. Oh, they have? Because, like, it's not like first date chat. Maybe not. they have been on a date yeah okay so they yeah so now you've been on date yeah but like it's really
Starting point is 00:29:05 playing on my mind I should have said something I've got to tell you exactly let us know what happens let's go on to dilemma too okay dilemma two hi ladies I've been in tiny I've been tiny for a few years I think I'd say I've been a tiny that says I've been tiny I've been huge a last couple years I've been tiny I've been tiny for a few years now and I love you guys Oh sorry that's really got me I've recently turned 30 and entered a more wholesome era Love that
Starting point is 00:29:42 These days me and my friends are too tired and exhausted To go out like we used to Instead we'll go for coffees, walks and dinners Instead of big nights out I'm still really close to some of my hometown friends Even though they now live down south And I live up north When they come to visit me I'll always host them
Starting point is 00:29:57 I never ask them to chip in for the food or drinks. They usually just bring a bottle of wine which I think is normal. But when I visit them, it's a different story. They'll physically take me to the shop. I'll end up paying for the food shop and then they transfer me their part. The thing is, I've recently changed jobs and I'm earning a lot less than my friends. I'm working and studying part-time to be a therapist, good for you. And with trains costing around £100 to go down and see them, it's starting to feel really unfair.
Starting point is 00:30:23 I've never really been a stingy friend, but now I'm getting to stage where I think. surely if you're offering to host you shouldn't make your guests pay for half the food shop especially when they're the kind of friend who say we're getting an Uber together will say we're splitting it and ask me to transfer the exact amount to the penny or it offends them no no I know I hate that am I being unreasonable for feeling this bait or is it fair to say something I think that's really hard as in I agree I can't bear splitting item by item I think it's so rude if someone's making you dinner to make you pay for the food. I'm like an Uber and they're like it's 12
Starting point is 00:31:00 £20. Yeah like just round it yeah like it literally is my worst. Or just like you get the Uber there I'll get the Uber back yeah or I know or like I'll get this round of drinks you get the next I'm not going to pay £575 for my diet Coke no and I also so agree
Starting point is 00:31:16 with if they're cooking dinner you should not be paying no I think that's really strange but what I do think is really awkward thing to like bring up I agree I don't think you can bring up. No. But I think I also am just like, ick, and it would put a bad taste in my mouth, and I'd end up stop going. Do you know what I'd
Starting point is 00:31:34 maybe do, actually? Instead of bringing up, like, guys, I think you're really stingy, because you just, I just don't think you can. Also, people are just different with money, but maybe next time they invite you down, maybe just say, guys, I'm quite strafficking at the moment. It's £100 a train ticket, and then
Starting point is 00:31:50 if I'm having to, like, pay for my food on top of myself, which I don't mind doing, but, like, at the moment, I just can't afford to come. And we'll probably just do what Georgia said and give it some some breathing space. I think it's obviously grinding your gears at the minute and like you need some breathing space from those girls. Yeah, but explain it's because
Starting point is 00:32:05 it's always an expensive trip for you. Yeah. And so they should hopefully be like, but we'll make you dinner. Exactly. If they really want you to come, they'll say don't worry, we'll cover dinner. But if they don't want to do that, that's fine. Just give a miss. Yeah, it doesn't really
Starting point is 00:32:21 solve it, but like I guess that is just like the best you can do in this situation. It's such a hard one. You can't say to somebody you're so tight. You just cannot. But back to your question, you're not being unreasonable feeling this way. I feel the same way, but is it fair to say something? Probably not. I agree.
Starting point is 00:32:37 We hope that helps. Please keep us updated. Okay, dilemma three. Can I avoid pregnancy nose? Oh. Can I just say something right, Georgia? You didn't know about pregnancy nose, did you? No, I didn't actually. I told you and you went you went
Starting point is 00:32:55 oh I think my's got a bit swollen actually because I said to you like you're so lucky you've not got pregnancy nose I honestly feel like I just have to touch wood right now because I can't bear the thought right okay let me read this dilemma hi guys I love the pod so much Sophie huge congratulations I'm obsessed with him
Starting point is 00:33:13 and you talk about your pregnancy you're so real and funny and made the whole thing way less scary for me I'm currently 20 weeks pregnant when my first baby oh congratulations and my heart is so full I can't wait to be a mama, but I have a dilemma. I'm terrified of getting pregnancy nose.
Starting point is 00:33:28 You would have got it by now, huh? Yeah. It comes in thick and fast. It's like TikTok knows my deepest darkest fears now and it shows me on videos of women who started out with the daintiest little nose that has got pregnant and suddenly it's like their nose has a life of its own and became ginormous.
Starting point is 00:33:45 I know it's shallow and trust me, it's not my main focus during my pregnancy, but still, babe, same. How far how long is she? 20 weeks, you would have had it. by now. Although I'm going to say like third trimester is a whole new level of swollenness. No, you've got
Starting point is 00:34:00 a hat cabin, you've cranks, you know. I do. Sophie, do you have any tips? I've been using nasal spraying, drinking loads of water to try and keep it at bay but I would love your eyes. I have a hack. So firstly, you have to face-taping the whole time I've been pregnant and when I don't, the difference is remarkable on the swelling of the face.
Starting point is 00:34:18 So what I've been doing is I take my eyebrows to try and like get the eye lids from like swollen so they do swell but that's not helping in this trimester like it's out the window but i'm okay i've made it i've made it quite far now the nose thing i've got the magnets from amazon and the little magnet strips to open up so i breathe oh like snoring yeah but i think part of the pregnancy nose is because you're not breathe i don't know what happens the veins swell oh yeah no because this did happen to me can breathe and it's because they split the inside of your
Starting point is 00:34:51 nose, your whole face, everything swells and the inside of your nose swells and you like, you feel like you've got cold the whole time. Yes. So I have avoided, which then you get swelling like all over your face in other areas. So like, your glands. Yes. So I've been doing that
Starting point is 00:35:07 the Amazon like magnets, they're two little stickers you stick in there and then you put this like bar on, you should really get it because it just is amazing to breathe you. And you look really quite bizarre. You look like you got pregnancy, because it stretches. I had that at the end of my pregnancy. I did that just to brew. It just stretches your nose out to a wild
Starting point is 00:35:23 But anyway, what I do is I get Tape, you know, like the people Like nose drop tape You can get it off Amazon I don't know what it's called like Forrest Tape And I tape my nose tightly every night And I'm... Just tape it down
Starting point is 00:35:36 I just tape that puppy down And I have done it every single night And I've missed one night And I honestly was like Do you reckon you'll do your after pregnancy Just keeps your face down I definitely I don't know about the taping on other places
Starting point is 00:35:49 Because I'll tell you why it's so annoying because I tape at like 845 9, right, before getting into bed and then my, I'm so starving at like 9.30. I go down for another snack and I have to re-tape because I can't eat. Oh, do you take your own? No, but I take their own laser labiaful. Yeah, and then I can't, and then I don't want food getting stuck in my tape because it kind of, so I just, and then I'm like retaping and taping.
Starting point is 00:36:10 So just do the necessities, the nose, that is. Yeah, the nose is key. And like if you're wrinkly here, I would think it's been all right. Not much of a frown at perhaps. Yeah, yeah, you are. I had a quiet line. Well, it's creeping and it's really creeping in. But anyway, so that would be my advice. But congratulations and please send us in photos and keep us updated on your pregnancy. I'm very excited for you. Me too. That's the end of the episode. Love you so much, George. Thanks coming on.
