Oh yeah, you went on with Sophie by also recently. Yeah, I did. We were just just talking about

birthdays because this today is coming out on the 3rd of December, which is my birthday, not the 8th guys. So everyone that's been Googling my birthday friends and family, I think my birthday is included, apparently. Sophie and Jamie included think that my birthday's on the 8th and it's today. It's the 3rd. Obviously, we're pre-reporting this. Yes, happy birthday to me in advance. It's my 29th. So what are you doing for your birthday? I'm going to, well, I would have been already to Farmhouse with Toby

because he's actually got another friend's birthday weekend over my actual birthday weekend, which I allowed him to go on. And I'm like, are you going to book some restaurants? He's like, oh, yeah, probably should do that? But he's such a bad planner. And I'm like, do I just call him book myself for my fucking birthday? because it's just not want to get done. And he's like, I won't let me do it on the app.

And I'm like, right, maybe we should call them. Like, we can be a bit more proactive, can't we? Like, it's just so typical. Like, is Barry the planner or are you the planner? Oh, no. Barry never plans anything. Okay, that makes me so better. Yeah, no, no.

It's hard. My birthdays as well, literally nothing. I'd have to, I have to, like, tell him what to do. Yeah. Do you remember actually, it was my 30th, when we came out from Soap's hen? Oh, my God. Maybe it was.

I think it was. It was, we were on my birthday weekend. My actual birthday was the Sunday we came back from So 10, and everyone messaged my friend Lucia messaged Barry to be like, what have you planned for Georgia's birthday? And he was like, uh... Yes, I remember this. And he had like forgotten the... He had completely forgotten it was my birthday.

I remember you hadn't heard from him or something in the morning. That was it. I remember that makes me feel so much better. He didn't even send me a text to say, happy birthday. Dead. That is my husband. So funny. Do you be fair, sometimes it is easy to forget.

And I was away. Yes, if I'd been at home, I'd be like, my birthday tomorrow, what you doing? Yeah, reinforcing it. Like, you should set alerts in his phone on the calendar. A week before. A week before. And then, like, the day before. And, oh my God, a week before, that's, I think, two weeks before.

Yeah. All of George's present. Then another one the week before, like, last call. Order George's present. You've only got a week for it to arrive. And then the day before and the day of. Yes, go dear. He actually does this.

He, like, puts my present buying on me as well. So he'll be like, right, you need to tell me all you want. And then I'll just like not get around and he'll be like, it's up to you. If you don't tell me, like, you're not getting anything. But like, he'll be like, send me a link. And I'm like, can you not just like pick something yourself? Oh, God, it's hard though sometimes picking shit for girls. Yeah.

I think girls are way easier than boys. Well, they are. But I'm also like, I'm quite particular. And it's so easy to get something slightly wrong. Yeah, true. You need to ask your friends. Also, do you get wrong with a Sophie necklace or something? Yeah.

Oh. I'm always like, I just keep it so. Oh, and she changed it for another. And she got so angry in me because he checked it with me and I was like, yeah, I'd love that. And then she's like, you know I hate those. I was like, I'm so sorry, I forgot. Oh my God, see, that, this is what I mean, but it's hard because that's like a lovely gift. But it's so, things are so personal.

And the more you spend them where you want to get it right. You've got to, guys, you've got to ask friends or family. But in your case, you get it wrong. So don't ask me. Fuck sake. I, um, so yeah, I've asked for no presents. I've just asked for, this is so boring. grown up but we've got loads of art that needs framing and framing's really expensive so

can you just frame all my art that that's really grown up but it's so boring but it's just one of those jobs it needs to get done as a like good effort off for you as well exactly like they've been sat in the corner of the living room for the last nine months and I'm like we need to get those bad boys framed I would love that as a gift so that's going to be my present I think unless he whips at our surprise which I don't think that would happen is he good does he do that is he romantic you know what he is quite good at surprise gifts I will give him that They always go down well. Actually.

Do I, I think maybe I do drop hints. He must know. Because nothing's been that left field. But like last birthday, for example, he got me a piece of art. That's so nice thought. That I really wanted that I had mentioned like three years prior. That's such a like, two years prior. Wow, that's really impressive.

And he remembered it and brought it. And I was like, that is fucking good. That's really impressive. Awesome. You think they don't listen, but sometimes they do. So yeah, that's what I'm doing. And then I'm going to the Cotsils again with my friends. Oh yeah

I don't know if you feel like this Did you feel like this also after giving birth Because I'm now like going to do this I'm like well when I have a baby and I give birth Then I'll revamp the wardrobe So I did that after I gave birth When I was like six months in And I was like well I'm never going to fit into my clothes

And I got rid of all my clothes And then now I would have fit to him And I don't have any clothes there. So now I have had to revamp my whole wardrobe. But is it quite fresh having a rebound my wardrobe. It is. I've literally probably got like, I've got two pairs of jeans from before pregnancy and that's it. Everything else is new.

I'm so jealous. It's quite fun. I actually am on the hunt for the most perfect pair of jeans. And I thought I'm going to ask you because I've always liked your jeans. HN. All of them are HN. What are you own right now? HN.

Hmm. I'm going to have it. Sophie always has that. She's like, what do you use are these? HM. Honestly, they're fucking 10-10. I actually always seewing them and I thought you've done. And I thought you were just lying from together.

No. I thought I bet she's got more expensive ones. No, I swear all H&M. Oh, okay, I'm going to go by. They're so good. Two of my new pairs of H&M and I love them. They're the best fit. I don't know.

Like, they're basing them off of something else. They must be because they're phenomenal. So these are like a flared sort of a boot cart with a slit down the side, which I've had for a really long time. Then the normal ones which are like, they're not like straight leg, but they're like high waisted. I'll link them on the LTK guys. Yeah, I'll shop off your house. But they're really good, but they have like 20 different colours. Okay, I'm going to buy them.

And you know what I'll do. I'll buy one that's like a UK4, so it's like tighter. Yeah, they come up big. They do come up really big. And then I'll get one that's like a six, so it's like a little bit looser. And then I've got two different fits, but they're actually the same gene and they give a two different letters. I'm going to go back in order loads. I've actually got 15% off at the moment.

Oh, take you out. Off she goes. Also, they're really good value. It's like 30 quid for a pair of jeans. Yeah, I know. I know. They're fantastic. And they don't fade, like, these are a bit long for me, so they have ripped.

But other than that, I feel like they just look great. No, this is music. I just bought literally 10 pairs from Harvey Nichols, and I'm returning all of it. Like, I was meaning on it to keep on, but I'm literally returning everything with that. Also, it depends on their fit model that they're using, like, what shape the fit model is. Because I'm like, oh, okay, if the fit model is, like, similar shape to you, that's when they would look good. Yeah. And it's always really hard when they use, like, lovely tall models with sucked long legs.

I'm like, they're just not going to look like that. Well, yeah, since we've realised recently we're at the same height. Oh, wait, why did we realise that? Because I thought I was taller than you all my life. Wait, what? I remember we missed ourselves at Arabella's McWedding, Rebecca's Wedding. No, I don't remember what the phone.

You must have had a couple of champains by there. I would have done. Oh, wait, well, we're down in the reception? Yeah, yeah, yeah, no, I do you remember. I've always told everyone my whole life, I'm five, six. And so it's always been convinced. She's like, you're not at all. and then we went back to back home.

Yeah, and I'm 5'4. Sometimes I've learned something new about myself. Sometimes I wonder if I'm under 5.4. What means I have to? You know what's giving you more height? Sometimes if the hair volume's good, that always helps me out a little bit. I like being short. So do I, but I just was convinced I was 5'6.

Two inches I've lost. That is quite a lot. And Sophie's 5'7, 0 or 5.8. Yes, there's no way I'm 5'6. No. And I remember watching you next to each other, and I was like, There's such a high difference. Sometimes I see your mum in photos and I think it's me.

Genuinely and I'm like... Your mum was showing me... She was so happy with that. She was showing me bitches. So you'd be a pearly yesterday and I was like, is that? I was like, I thought it's your mum. And I was like, I was seeing a mirror reflection there. Oh my God, I'm literally going to call my mum straight off this and down for that.

She's so little too. She's quite short too, no. Yeah, she is. But she's always told me she's five, six and we're the same high and that's where I got it from. Nah, Sarah. I also think it was a thing back in the day to be like taller. Everyone was aiming to be taller. Now people are okay with being short.

I think everyone wanted to be like that supermodelera, like, yeah. Totally. Now everyone's fine with being short. I'm certainly not in that supermodular high range. No, no, being five or. Do you remember being 29? Oh, thank you for making you feel so old. You know what?

I love being the younger one out of me and Sophie. Yeah. It's so nice. I mean, to be fair, that was like nearly five years ago. What? Yeah, I'm 33. Oh yeah, you're younger than my sister. Yeah, it's really, I am old.

You are not old. I mean, I'm going to be in my... But being in the younger part of your 30s, apparently, is like the best time of life. Is that true? Yeah, I think so. Well, I'm just having a lovely time at the moment being mum. Yeah. Yeah, I think so.

like settled in your career. You don't care what people think as well. People keep saying that. Yeah. You have a new lease of confidence. Yeah, I would agree with that, actually. Were you freaked out or no? No, I'm never freaked out by age.

That's very positive things. Yeah. Are you freaked out? No, I'm not. But I'm like, there are certain things where I'm like, oh my God, should I be here at this age? Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. There's that pressure, but I'm not. actually scared of being older.

Do you reckon you will when you're turning to 30? Maybe. Because it's different. I've got a year to go still. You're still in your 20s. I know. That's so young. The scary thing is that it just goes quickly.

That's the only scary thing about the whole thing. I think once you're over 30, I don't, I don't, I even remember, like, what 30 I am. Seriously? Yeah, I'm like, 31, it could be 34. I mean, that all blurs into one. It all blurs and 20 and then, that is old. That's what when I think about how old Kim, Kardashian is in my mind, she's in her 30s and she's like 45. And I'm like, what the

fuck? Yeah, I always think remembering my mum being in her 40s, like when I feel like I was an adult. Do you know what I mean? Your mum's much younger, isn't she? Well, she's 60. Okay, but it's still so young. It's really weird. Like, when you hear someone in their 40s, you're like, that's really young. But then when you're saying that in your 20s, it's like just crazy. And I remember thinking when I was like 15, listening to someone that's 30, I'd be like, they are old. Yeah, I know. Like, they are so old.

Well, as when you hear people say they're born in the 2000s or something, I'm like, that makes you feel sick. I'm born in not enough to do. It's like, all the influences. Yeah, I was born in 2004 and I'm like, fuck now. I'm like, you should be three. I know, it's so weird. Obviously, Bell's was born in 2023.

24? Yeah, but she is a baby. That's not so scary. Well, yeah, that was true. Also, like, for her, she's going to be writing, like, the date. You know how we go, like, I just go dash 96. Yeah. She will have to go dash 2024.

She won't be able to shorten it. Yeah, she won't. Because then it could be 1924. Well, wouldn't she be dead? Would she? Yeah. Would she? Yeah, she'd be 100.

Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. You're so right. My math stand was really special. I was like, well. Oh, God. How is it being a mom? I know you've probably spoken about it on this podcast loads, but I've not really spoken to you about it.

I love it. I'm actually like such cross, I've just gone back to work. because my second week back to work, and I'm feeling really sad about it. Oh, you? Yeah, I know so would be like, man up. Do you know what? I think she's always like, oh, God, everyone does it, but it's really hard.

I'm sure. I thought I'd be a bit more like, it's quite nice to have a break. And I think, to be fair, this week I did two days back to back in the office, so I don't see her for a whole day. And I know it's pathetic, but I really miss her. Like, by five, I'm like running, like, I'm pushing to get on that train. to get home and time. Yeah, so that I'm finding a bit hard, but, yeah, love it.

That is a transition. Mm. I can imagine that being really difficult. It does make me not want to lie, like, the pregnancy thing, not so much. I'm like, the thought of that is, like, quite alien and freaky. But the baby part, I'm like, that really, like, I could do that now. Like, I could do it. Yeah, you definitely good.

Easily, not easily. Also, I feel like it would fit into your lifestyle gorgeously. It's just the thought of being. pregnant is the scary part to me. Yeah, me too, actually. Thinking about having my second one, I'm like, ugh. How did you find pregnancy?

You were fine, no? I was fine, like, I was barely sick. I was, like, just tired. Fine. I was similar to Sofe, I think, but it is just like, it's boring. It's boring, you feel rubbish for so long.

Yeah, and then at the end, it feels like, I said to Sophie, I was like, it does feel like you've been pregnant for two years. Like, it actually does. I also think when people announce... Yeah, you know, you knew before she would be, Way before. Yeah. So it feels like ever. And I'm like, fuck it. My mom was like, so if you had a baby, yeah? I'm like, no mom. She's starting to start December. Everyone asks me when they're like, she's due this month. I'm like, no. No. It is so crazy. And I didn't realize actually that it's a 10 month thing, not a nine month thing. So where does that come from?

It's like nine calendar months. Like, wait, what is it? Yeah, it's nine calendar months, but it's like 40 weeks, like 10 times four weeks. Some calendar months are like five weeks. weeks. Oh yeah, that's true. Yeah. So that's right. But yeah, so you count the weeks when you're pregnant. You're like, I'm 21 weeks pregnant or whatever. So then you're like, hang on. Which doesn't mean much to me. Yeah. So if he's like, yeah, I'm going to be like 37 weeks or something. And I'm like, that is going in one ear and out of the other. I don't know like the weeks talk and baby talk. That means nothing to me. I'm like, I need a month. But no one, no one does when like all the things that happen, like once you have a baby pregnancy or pregnant, you look back at your friends have done it for and you're like, oh, I get that. That was important.

I remember one of my friends, like, had talking about, well, her baby was really clingy to her for his phase. And I remember thinking, like, God, you must like just never, like, you must like never share her of anyone. Maybe that's why she'd say clingy. Now by the say cling to me, I'm like, no, it's just, like, you just, like, you just, like, you just don't, at the time when it's not happening to you, you're like. You can't relate. No. I really can't wait for that stage life. I can't wait for this baby to come. I can't even tell you. You're going to be an aunt, I guess the first time, which is... I'm so excited.

Because I'm craving a newborn in my life at the moment. So it's going to hold off my second pregnancy. That's true. It's like a good bridging gap for you. Yeah. And it's so cute people to have a cousin. I know. And it is so nice that you and Sophie are so close.

I was always really jealous of like those families that were super, super close and would see their cousins like every weekend. Yeah. And they like have big Christmases with their cousins. So they were like best distant pals. Same. I love them. I just think it's the best thing ever.

And also it's like full. pre-friends forever. Yeah. Do you know what I mean? We grew up really close for a lot of our cousins and I think it's, yeah, really nice. It's just so fun.

But I feel like me and soap with each other even more than our mom's did. So that's even better. Yeah, even closer. And also, like, living close by makes such a difference. So, in fact, you're both living in London. Do you think you'll just be over at the house every day?

Yeah, I do. Oh, no, because you're going to be back at work now. I know. But I have Fridays. I literally was thinking, yeah, I know. That is so annoying. I'll just go over the weekends. The good thing is, now she has all.

Now she has all baby stuff at her house. I can just bring Bells along with me. So true. Put Bella in a pen because she can just, like, do her thing whilst you're doing newborn stuff. Yeah. And also I can help. You've been there, you know, everything.

Like, is that something you were like, is it really scary? Like, one of my other best friends is also having a baby, Hermione, which is so fun. And I'm like, is it so scary not, because you just don't know anything. I know you read all the books and shit, right? Yeah, but you don't. I didn't really know how to hold it. a newborn, to be honest. Like, you know, when your friends give you that...

And it feels like you're taking the most precious piece of glass. Yeah. And the intrusive thoughts are crazy. I'm like, I don't think I can hold this baby actually. I'm going to give it back to you. I can't. Yeah. Barry literally had held one newborn in his life before Bella arrived.

Yeah, for like a minute. It's like, when would you? I think the first newborn I ever held was Milo. Yeah. Oh, yeah, you've got some experience though because you've got all Toby's like... Sure, but they're like, they're now... I think by the time I have... children, they're going to be, like, teenagers, so.

And then you forget about all these details and things, I feel like, people say, like, you just kind of, like, it's like your memory wipes out. And also every stage of your child is probably equally as important as the newborn phase, I guess. So then you focus. You forget about, like, problems from that. And then, yeah, it's true. Yeah, every stage is wild. But better.

Like, newborn's so nice because you can sit and rot and watch TV all day and they just sleep on you. And it's, like, cozy. Sophie, keep saying this. She's, like, lining up all these TV shows. And in my mind, I'm, like, being a mum, like, it's chaos from the moment they're out. I don't think so. And I'm like, when are you going to be watching all this TV? She's like, trust me.

Like, all I'm going to be doing is, like, breastfeeding and, like, the baby sleeping. You waft around in your pajamas all day. You just breastfeed, the baby sleeps. You watch TV. And how many times do you breastfeed in the day? Like, a lot, right? All day, like, every couple of hours. All day.

Yeah. And then, but then you're so tired because you're probably also feeding them every couple of hours all night. That's why the newborn face is hard. But then I actually look back at it and go, actually, that was gorgeous. I could watch Housewives all day long. You and Savie with this Housewives. I'm like, if I ever have a baby, which I hope I will one day, I've got, I've never watched it. You are going to have the time of your life, Melissa?

I know so, we get so excited when I say that I've watched it. But I'm like, there's too much to watch, especially Beverly Hills. I used to watch a couple of Beverly Hills. Like, every now and then, right, with Lisa Vanderpon from that crazy house. Best era, best era. But they start from like the year. 2000, Georgia. I would skip first two seasons and just go from there.

But even then, it's like really old-fashioned. It makes me feel a bit peculiar because I'm like, it feels vintagey but not in a good way. I do know what you mean? There's a couple I've never started. Actually, no, I watched Orange County from the start, and that's the first one they ever did. Is it? I always thought Beverly Hills was interesting. The Orange County was.

And then people say Salt Lake City's the best one, and there's not tune. That's new. Maybe I should just give it a go. Why don't you just start Salt Lake City now? Oh, maybe I should. You should. It's honestly, I would re-watch it with you. I honestly, I feel like you and Sophie, do you just go through all of them and then just re-watch

in the beginning? It's background. I don't ever actually re-watch them. Oh. Literally, it's so good. They have like three on playing all the time. And I only really get a chance to watch like one episode of something a day, if that at the moment. So that's like my fix of TV.

Yeah. It's fantastic. I need to get into like something that's good for my background. Like, not brain rock, but what do you call it? Like when I'm brushing my teeth, there's always something to. cute on the background, like Vampire's Irish friends, Sex and City, it's always on rotation. Do you sort of no city, give a go. I watched this, like, I was just telling the guys in here, I watched this thing on TikTok

this girl who does like horror storytelling and this girl went to babysit, but house sit the house that she normally house sits for with all the dogs in it. And she took, like, she couldn't get any of her friends to come with her because they were all busy. She took a video of these dogs like running down the corridor, put it on her Snapchat and her friend called her like, oh, so who did you get it? to like come in the house with you and stay. She was like, no one.

I'm here by myself and she was like, no, no, no. You just posted a video and there's someone walking in the background of the video. Get out of the house now if you're meant to be there alone. So she gets out of the house, calls the police. They check every door and everything. And the video, it's honestly like the dogs running down the corridor. And in the very distance, someone walks past. I've got grease pimple.

Like, it's night and day. Like, you can, like, my eyes feeling out of tears. It's so fucking creepy. But you can see it so obviously. I'll try and link that TikTok in the description of this. I really want to see it. It's fucking terrifying. I could show it to you right now.

Can I find it? I just were showing me. I can't see all these, like, scary stories and ghost stories on TikTok at the moment. It's this girl. So it's called Too Much Podcast. All she does is tell, like, horror stories. It's a sketch. Decided to take a video.

Absolutely terrified. So police came, like, check the whole hand. I've actually got, I've felt and swept it. Horrible. I was sat in bed this morning crying too. He was like, we have a thing okay? And I was like, no, I just watched the most awful video. See, as scary things make my eyes water, like instantly and I get news pumps.

Like, I'm so affected. Like, and I have such an overreactive mind. I can't watch horror films. I hate your horror films. I don't know why anyone puts themselves through that. Some people sit and watch horror films alone in their house and I'm like, wharry always wants to watch scary film. No. I'm like, no.

And also, like, if you, you'll never be able to go. out again and like I'll then have to stay up till 4 a.m. Like if he's on a night out, I would stay up away in the house. I'm like, that's selfish. Yeah. Because I'm like, I can't sleep alone. Can't be in the house alone. Sometimes I used to get scared about showering in the day. And I would convince myself that someone was going to come in the house and come and get me on the shower. I actually, I so get that. I saw I'd shower the door open. I'm sometimes scared blowdry my hair in case I don't get off. Blow dry. It's so scary. I think it's because it's so disorientating with the noise. Yeah, because if someone was in the house, you can

hear it. It's horrible. And also like, if The other comes in and I'm like, you've scared me so much. Like, it really just jolts you. Yeah, no, I say no what you're in. Oh, God. No scary films for me. Bella, actually, I think it's because Barry's always in the top bathroom. So she knows to be like, hi.

But sometimes when he's not there, she looks up to the top bathroom and goes, hi. And I'm like, who are you waving? No, stop. That's giving me a goofbox. You should sage that. Just in case. Oh, my God. I've never had anything that ghosty or scary happened to me.

Thank God. Yeah, I just see... Oh no, that's a lie Once I was in Battersea Power Station in my old flat Which is a new bill flat So there's no ghosts in there I was in the shower And it's like a small bathroom

Like a bath shower And the towels were there And the towel Literally just went like this And I was like, what the fuck And I screamed like bloody murder And at the time my ex-boy from came And everything okay

And I was like no no no The towel just fucking move I'm like is there something underneath it It was so That's the only thing that's ever happened to me But it was like so an unspooky environment and like, I was like, that's not possible. Like, I'm genuinely like seeing things. Yeah, but you don't know what was there before.

Oh, that's true. Our old house, me and so grew up in, we definitely think it was haunted. Oh, you've told me. Yeah, she used to sleepwalk. We had like a third floor, which we like, they, our parents built like a play area up for us on the third floor. Like it's like I own like chill out for the kids. We never used it because it was just freaking creepy. and she used to sleepwalk all night long.

She'd walk along and she'd be walking up on that top floor hallway asleep. And then you could just hear her trotting about upstairs. And it was so creepy. And she'd come down and talk. And one time, this is literally this memory, I'll never go over. She walked into my room and she went, she was asleep. But she was like, Georgia, George, we've got to go. They've come together.

And they woke up and this girl was being really weird and there was like in black like coal like something written on the like board next to her bed and they had to get the chapel man, vicar, to come in and like, to come in and like, do an exorcism and it remember at the time it was like so fucking scary and the girls

weren't allowed to sleep in the room and everyone in the morning house had to sleep in like the common room downstairs was in a house called acacia I believe my school that is so scary so scary I remember it happening at the time it was just like so fucking weird I need to ask my school friends about that actually and we need to talk about that again it's like unlocked a memory yeah because if the teachers had to get someone in that the vicar like the school vicar had to come and do something from being so scary at the time but also being like thank god I'm not in that house A boarding house? I only found out recently, and to top it off, she's now confessed that she's in love with him. Okay. This weekend was kind of my breaking point. We had a family meal. She came. My boyfriend came, and halfway through, she literally told me to get my boyfriend to leave so we could have a girl's time. I honestly

don't know what to do anymore. She's my best friend. but I feel like she's crossing every boundary possible. How do I set boundaries without causing a massive fallout? Also, I know you two love photos, so here's one of me and my boyfriend and one of me and her too. Let's see. Right, listen, I think your best you might be in love with you.

Like, I think it's a bluff saying that she's in love with the brother. Yeah, that's a bit, that's crossing line, I think. Because surely you could be like more in there with the brother if it was like double date vibes, like, let's him wear the brother, but she's like, no boy's allowed. Yeah. But she's also in love with the brother. Like, did that not annoy you as well that she's, like, said that? Also, have you spoken to your brother about it? Like, so many questions. And is her brother single now? Like, could that be a thing? Could they day? And then that would get, you know what? She needs to find a boyfriend.

She'll get off your back. If the brother and her dated, I think that would, so. the problems. Might make things worse. It's a difficult one. You need to encourage her to start dating because she's not going to leave you alone. Also, I will say, you don't have to spend every night in with your boyfriend. I know that's what you'd rather do, but you need to also get out of the friendship. Yeah, and like help out your single friends because it's fucking boring, being the only one that's single. Yeah, I do get that. I think that must be, that would be really rubbish if she is. This isn't like the end of your friendship. Like, I know that this feels

like quite dramatic right now but it's not that much of a big deal like you just need to say to like look I love you and I'm going to make more of an effort for us to go out and we're going to find you a boyfriend but like I am really enjoying my relationship right now and sometimes I don't want you to be telling me that I'm not allowed to hang out with my boyfriend that's weird yeah and also you could like in terms of boundaries do like dedicated like girls nights yeah dedicated to girls nights like no no we go out on every other Friday night or like we do this. That's too limiting.

But yeah, once a month. Once a month. We have a dedicated girl's night. I think that's so fair enough. Yeah. You also need your boyfriend and her to bond. And maybe he should be the one to set the boundaries and it's like not on you. You'd be like, sorry.

Yeah, but then she'll hate the boyfriend. It's actually a really hard on. Because it doesn't sound like she like obviously wants to stay friends for her as her best friend. But she just wants a bit of, you're a bit of much. without saying you're a bit of a match. How do you do that? Like if this happened to you, would you actually just pull away.

like it's so easy to give that advice but I'm like if this was me I would pull away and I'd be like look we're going to do a girl's night promise so sorry if I've been like too in my relationship and not been like going out and about as much as we used to I want to make an effort let's do just dedicated up girls night and then you've done all you can do

It reminds me a lot of what Melissa's experienced a few years back, and I'm really finding it hard right now. I'm trying to focus on myself and keep busy, but I still have hope that maybe in time we could work things out. Melissa, I'd love to hear more about how you got through that period and what helped you stay strong. How did you both eventually reconnect and did you date other people in that? time. I'm just feeling a bit lost and would really appreciate any advice. Firstly, I was very much so. I had to be very selfless at the start and try and wrap my head around the fact that actually it was mental health. It was the reason where we went together and it was actually nothing to do with me or how he felt about me. Yeah. Because it's so easy. I do think

people sometimes go like, I just need to focus on me right now. And that's an excuse to spare someone's feelings. Yeah. And I thought that's what was happening. But then I really understood that actually was not. And that probably helped you to like not hold on to so much anger. Well yeah and he was very it was very obvious that he was like not having a good time. So I was just always like I'm so here for you like whenever you need

like I just want to take away your pain like I'm like so sound for you anyway. I then had to be selfish and I was then like it was only really broken up for two months which is mental but after a month I was like right I'm going to get back on the wagon I need a distraction and I started to date. And I started to date again and it did make me feel better. Sometimes I do feel like this is maybe a toxic piece of advice. You sometimes need an emotional crutch slash distraction. I think that's

really fair advice. And like I've done the whole being alone and falling in love with myself and like I know who I am. But at this stage, I was like, I needed a distraction and an emotional bridge. Yeah. Because it's like you're craving that part of a relationship but like that you're never going to get that part of the relationship back because that person's not right at that time. Do you think because you started dating was what helped you get back together? I don't think so. He didn't know that I was dating. No. I don't think so. Oh, mind you. I did talk about it on the podcast. I reckon you would have known. I think you would have known. Maybe he did. Actually, you know what? And there was one point where I did see him because we saw each other quite a lot at the first half of it.

And I was like, honest, I was like, look, I'm not sort of. actually going to be doing this anymore. I'm going to sort of go and do my own thing. You get pushed to a limit. And you have to do it for yourself and try and distract until you get to a point

where you're like, actually, I'm more healed now. So there's nothing wrong with dating but before you're technically ready, I think. Yeah. I was ready to find a distraction. Yeah. And it was craving it. And it was exactly what I needed.

It was perfect. Like I had the best time and I was like dating this really lovely guy. So I think that's, like, important. And also at that point, I'd made the decision that I wasn't going to, like, wait for Toby to feel better and, like, come around. And my mind, I was like, we're done. I think that's good advice for her as well, because it seems like she's just, she's hoping they will get back together, which is nice. But then you don't want to just wait around in case it never happens.

So, like, in the back of my mind, there was always, like, this hope. And I knew that I was, like, still in love with him. But I was also, like, I can't, like, hope's going to kill me if I keep hoping. So you have to just suppress that as much as you can. And if it does come back around, then great. And I will say, like, for me, it's worked out, which is like, I don't know, quite rare people say never go back to an X, but I'm like...

It's been perfect. Scenarios are very different. But, like, it won't be easy when you get back together. I will say that. Like, it wasn't easy for Toby and I would go back together at all. Was it not? No. I mean, I had to really, like, put him first.

Oh, really? And, like, let him be really honest with me about all these, like, feelings that he had that were all angry. anxiety driven. And I had to just soak it in. Let my ego disappear. It was really difficult. Yeah, that's hard. Well done. But yeah, I mean either you can do it or you can't. So I think the best thing to do

let's just let that go to one side. You can be there of him if he really needs you, but you need to just imagine that you're never going to get back together and move on. And if he comes back and really says to you, I want to work through this with you, then you can see how you feel. But you have to have to accept that it won't be, you know, yeah. It won't be like just easy back to how you were. Because she'll probably feel hurt still deep down as well. It's really difficult.

And also, you never really do know. I mean, in your scenario, you will never really know, unless you do get back together if it was an excuse. Yeah. It's just one of those things. Yeah, that's so true. Because I didn't know until we got back together truly. I was like, this could all just be like, he's going through something,

but because he really doesn't like me, or I've set off this anxiety in him. Thank God for it. Because that's what he also thought he was, I can't be in the relationship because I think it's triggered me being so anxious. So, I don't know, it's such a difficult one. And sometimes people don't ever get better, which is okay and then you have to manage it for the rest of their life,

which a lot of people do. But you also have to be okay with that. Yeah. Because you're taking that on too. Like anxiety doesn't affect one person, the relationship. It affects both of you. Sure. Definitely, definitely.

So, I don't know. What's your life? I hope you're okay. Yeah, I think that's really good advice and just, Yeah, try and, yeah, move on. Like, not have the hope, like, not let the hope lead the rest of your, like, how you're living the next few weeks, months, whatever. Just try and move on, put yourself first, look after yourself.
