enjoy the episode
Sophie's got this new trick of contouring her nose
and I've never seen anything quite like it
I was looking at her nose and I was like
I've never seen something so snatched and perfect
and I'll say what have you done differently?
Okay right
tell everyone
Melissa's like you need to share
I can't take it.
Okay so I have the Charlotte Tilby
contour lip liner
which is what's gone missing in this room
and you must find it
because I think it's very out of stock
it's a double-sided lip liner
one side's contour and the other is like
an iconic nude, say.
Charlotte totally.
And I use the brown, the contour, and I draw on my nose the contour.
And it's just, it's so precise and amazing.
Is it on there?
On my.
Okay, you've got it.
I contour my nose like I'm drawing a painting rather than with like a thick, oily contour stick.
Because it's so dry, that's it.
This is it.
What shade did you get?
Medium.
Okay, so we've got fair, medium, turn.
Deep?
No, I got like maybe fair or medium.
Medium, yeah. Medium. And so I draw on my nose. And because the thing with contouring your nose with like a contour stick, it's very oily and the contour is very thick. So you can't really get precise lines. And this just stays all day. Like it's so much like. It's also the most undetectable contour I've ever seen because it is so thin. You're like, is it there or is it not? I was trying to work it out. Yeah. It's brilliant. Pair that with the freckles. Chef's kiss of a nose.
But also I have been nosedaping my nose since being pregnant. So I don't know.
whether that's been doing it because I was so scared of the pregnancy nose well.
Touch with, touch, on, touch, foot.
That I just have nose taped my nose for now a long, long time.
You should also give a tutorial at some point,
because I'm sure the goodies would love to see.
I really should.
Can you use that not pregnant and it still makes a difference?
I'm sure it would have.
Yes, yes.
Because you do just swell in your nose, don't you?
Yeah, particularly if you've had, like, salty or, like, alcohol,
like my nose would as well.
I'm just not very good on TikTok, as we all know.
I'm just quite a collab with the Wednesdays and the newly words,
and that's as far as it goes for me.
So apparently I stink at the moment
and my friend Eleanor
she works at health
was like, right?
You're smelling because of all the detox tablets
that you take and it's your body
getting all the toxins out
and at a certain time of the month
it will smell more than other times.
What does Tobe say?
Absolutely nothing.
Absolutely nothing.
And what's Tobe say?
You could nap under there and it'd be lovely.
I don't really ever smile too much.
I just pretend that I do to you.
I'm like, yeah, me too.
No, that has been once where I've smelt you
And you're like, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
You know why when I smell?
A spray tan,
finally stay away from me.
Because then you go to an event,
you stink that night.
Really?
But the trick is, guys.
But not BEO.
Yeah, because it blocks your paws and it's so, so smelly.
But I've found a hack.
And what you do is you're going to put talcum powder,
but I don't own that.
So what I do is I get like a loose powder,
like a makeup powder,
and you go onto your armpits and around your vagina area.
And then it doesn't crease.
And then know when it's drying.
And then I don't know it stops it going into the paw.
and then you never smell like the armpits.
But I'm talking like the minute you've done the spray tan,
you get that powder and you get a brush
and you dab it all under or like on a tissue
and you put it under your armpits and that's it.
And you're going to save yourself from that smelly,
smelly, smelly, because it stinks under the bit.
God, that's such a good tip.
Yeah, I know.
Make sure your pants and the shorts you're wearing are good material
because the brand I win, I don't know what it was.
It was obviously like cheap material and it made me stink and sweat.
And I think get yourself some light air.
organic cotton. Organics is really great.
And like flowy linen trousers.
Yeah, I think we stick to the loose fitting.
Don't wear the chafey shorts that are like up your bum and like chafing and causing itches and squatches.
No, no, no, no, no.
And girls always sweat.
What do boys call it?
Raver vagina or something.
Disco fanny.
Disco fanny?
Yeah, disco fanny.
Why have I not heard of that?
Right, Disco Fanny is when you're in a disco and you're sweating, you're dancing, you're parting your night and you go home, you shag somebody.
and your fanny smells.
So it's basically like disco dick.
It's the same thing.
Disco dick, vinegar dick.
Oh, cheesy dick.
I've never had a cheesy dick.
No, normally because I would literally kick them out
if anyone walked into my house with a cheesy smelling dick.
Can I just say I will never forget being gone on a train once?
And I went, what's that smell?
And my friend Victoria turns to me she went cheesy dick.
And I, to this day, forever more, know exactly what cheesy dick smells like
because it was wafting out of this bloke's trousers.
and I was like,
I actually keep my makeup in the kitchen now as well.
This is like life of the trial.
The only time I have is like,
while she's quick, in her high chair,
I was like my quick time in it.
Fair.
God, it doesn't do like a seey.
What have you got no skin right now?
Just cost us concealer.
Nothing on the skin and anywhere else.
Well, no, I've also got bronzer and blest around.
I know, but no, but my sun cream is like a,
like an iridescent, glowy sun cream.
Oh, nice.
What one is it?
It's color science.
It's mineral sun cream.
You should, you would love it.
and it's like a Hollywood flawless filter,
but it's obviously a mineral suncream.
SBA 50.
Color science, mineral sun cream.
It's called glow.
It's the glow shade.
Right, I might have to go and purchase that.
Yeah, you love that.
What I've got on my skin right now,
not that you've asked.
What have you, your skin is gorgeous.
Isn't the Victoria Beckett?
Yeah.
You're so keep telling me to get this.
Bricking insane.
I need to get that.
Like, unbelievable.
You put it on, it just like, for the first, like, two minutes,
I'm like, oh, I feel like I've got too much on.
and then I look in the mirror again five minutes, eight to and it's just like...
Sins to your skin.
It's like the weirdest thing and it goes like.
But I wouldn't actually notice you had anything, guy.
It doesn't look like we've got anything on.
But you are really glowing.
And then I take it off at the end of the night, my skin looks better than it did in the morning.
Because I think it's got all that skin care.
It's like Augustine and Bader, whatever.
I'm obsessed with that.
Augustine and Svader.
It's so good.
I can't even buy that.
But I hate to tell you it's £105.
Oh.
Like what the actual fact.
But you know what?
That actually feels like a bargain because Augustin and Spada's cream is $250 pounds.
True.
Look at it like that.
The annoying thing is I had to buy two shades because I didn't get the right shades.
Yeah, I spent 210 pounds.
I don't know.
Could you use one for summer?
Like?
I mix them together.
Okay.
Because I got one.
I was like, right, let's just make it feel like it's not going to be wasted.
I got one a little bit paler than I was supposed to use.
And I mix them together and they're going to last as long.
Fine.
And then you can just adjust like the amounts.
Exactly.
I've got a fake tan on.
I'll just use a little bit more of the darker one, etc.
Good idea.
So I might have some of my favourite products with me.
Go on there.
Would you like to see?
I would love to see.
I love Elnette.
Anyone who knows me as well knows that I love Elnette.
So this is the favourite.
Extra cold Elnette hairspray cannot go wrong.
There's also something really chic.
Can't go wrong.
I think about the Elnette bottle and vintage looking and nostalgic.
It's tried and tested.
It's been going for years.
You just know what it's going to do.
Gorgeous product.
I mean, the scent's really nostalgic as well.
It's not the best scent in the world.
I love it because it reminds me of like my grandma.
Nostalgia.
Yeah, it is.
Yeah.
I'm happy they've never changed it.
L'Oreal, you can never change that scent because...
Never change that.
Best dry shampoo, living proof.
Oh, yeah.
Ficking in spray by bedhead, queen through a day.
Brilliant product.
Does that go in dry hair?
Put it in wet hair.
Is it like a moot?
It's a spray.
It's a spray moose.
Ooh.
Yeah.
Really recommend.
So I've washed my hair, towel dried out of the shower,
and that's just going in...
Yep.
You can use it on the roots, roots to mid lengths, and then blow it all out.
And it will just give you so much volume without your hair feeling tacky.
I hate feeling like that stuff in there.
Yeah, this is honestly such a lovely product.
Okay.
So then I would use that on the roots, the mid lengths, then you could use a moose through the ends.
Okay.
If you wanted to not put that through the ends.
And then the moose to the ends will just make the blow dry hold more.
Yeah.
And speaking of mooses, best moose.
Color Wow, XXL, Moose.
People talk about Color Wow a lot in the hair styling industry.
Yeah.
It's got a good product.
Really lightweight, not sticky.
Got a nice array of different brands here.
These are the good sort of styling products, I'd say, like good.
They're your non-negotiables.
You take them everywhere with you.
Non-negotiables.
Okay.
Right.
Top three curl products.
Moroccan oil, curl defining cream.
Free pumps.
Yeah.
In wet hair.
Wet hair.
distribute it in your hands
one side
scrunch scrunch scrunch
scrunch those girls
and that's it
and then she's good to go
I'd use that
would that work on someone like
my hair
where I've got a tiny bit of a wave
would it make it more curly
or would it just make it
so Sophie was actually using it on her
so she's obviously got like a natural
sort of wave in her hair
she was just using a little bit of
that just to like tame some of
those frizzies
you know.
Frizzies, okay.
So that's, you can try it.
I think products, I think you try
in error with products.
Yeah.
You should always try different products
because one might work for you
but it doesn't work for somebody else
or something you, like,
it's personal preference.
Okay.
Curl cream, Moroccan oil,
then the Oliplex gel.
Oh, wow.
Curl gel.
Okay.
Brilliant.
Again in all wet hair.
I would.
Little bit of each.
Then.
I would use a moose.
Chuck it all on and you'll have gorgeous curls.
Right, last few products and then I'm done.
Color Wow, Dreamcoat, non-negotiable.
Is that spray?
This is the one for curly hair, but the normal one, brilliant.
And it just shine.
It gives your hair shine.
It's anti-humidity.
It will just make your hair feel amazing.
Okay, I bet all these products are gorgeous too.
Next product, Augustina Spader.
Non-toxic.
Leave him.
Non-toxic.
Gorgeous product.
I bet it's absolutely stunning.
You'd love that.
Right.
So what's this?
Maybe I'll go and buy this.
Yeah, you'd love that.
Have a smell of that.
Right.
I'm going to do last one now.
Oh, wow.
That's gorgeous.
Kerastas oils.
Right.
People rave about these.
Best oils you can get on the market.
Really?
I personally think.
Everyone that I think has good hair uses those.
Lovely.
So that's going on post-st styling.
You could do wet or dry.
They're really lightweight.
Can I just do a part?
hump of this now?
Yeah,
course.
Should I do just one?
Just do one or do a half of one if you feel like it might be too much.
How nice does it feel?
It's lightweight.
You won't feel like your hair's overloaded either.
You don't want to feel greasy.
That's like there's nothing worse than feeling grease.
Right, is that transformed me?
Babe, you look amazing.
Does it look shiny?
Yeah.
Looks gorgeous.
I will say it feels really nice.
It feels like it.
It smells nice, does it?
It smells good.
Thin hair, thick hair.
Yeah.
Products for thin hair, I would use thickening spray to thicken it out, but also a good blowdry.
I think if you've got thin hair and you can blow dry your hair really well, you can make it look
thicker.
So yeah, like good techniques for thinner hair.
Like I go and have a blow dry once a week.
Get a lovely, gorgeous, stunning, fancy.
Okay, so do you.
Yeah, get yourself a Dyson.
Dyson's really good for an at-home blow dryer.
I think they're worth the investment.
What about the shop?
People talk about the shark a lot.
Yeah, I think it's quite similar.
I think the shark one's a little bit cheaper maybe.
Is it?
Don't quote me on that, but maybe.
They would probably have good reviews on TikTok of like which one would suit your hair better
because some are better for thin hair, someone better for like curly hair and blah blah blah.
Yeah.
But honestly, if your hair's a bit thinner, I think embrace it, like go for it.
I think the textured stuff in thin hair can sometimes it really good.
And you can make your hair look lovely.
Whatever.
If it's thin, thin.
thick. You can always make your hair look lovely.
Thick hair. Yeah.
You want something that's really going to, right, a product I would say you really need like a
smoothing cream or something that's really going to tame it. Dreamcoat for thick hair.
It's really lovely to just spritz it all the way through.
And then what, brush it out? Blow it all, like blow dry out.
And you need to be using heat protector. That's like a non-negotiable.
Okay. Is any of those one?
Color wow. Yeah.
Yeah, majority, I think the thickening spray, the colour wow.
They've all got it in there.
Yeah, they've all got it.
Majority of products have heat protection in them.
Fine.
But you can get some really lightweight sprays and really lightweight products.
Do you do a good spray for heat protector?
Yeah.
I used ones.
But you want to be using heat protector who are honestly like save your hair.
I think if you're using heat and no heat protector, don't come crying to me.
Yeah.
Your hair is light ruined because I can't be asked for that.
Can't be bothered.
So get the heat protector on your hair girlies and boysies.
We must.
We must.
We must protect the hair at all costs.
In hair we must.
I actually use at the moment dermaviduals, which I get from a girl called Ingrid.
And then, but you can't get them unless you see her.
It's like one of those weird ones.
It's like prescription only.
But we gatekeep her slightly because she's so hard to get into.
I mean, I don't see her, but yeah.
I gatekeeper.
Anyway.
Yeah, and then ClearSkin with Elle is like a fucking game changer.
Like I feel like you just love it, don't you?
I love Clear Skin.
And also I use ZO-Clanza and then I use Piteox by Skin Seuticals.
P-T-O-X or P-Y-T-O-X.
It's like pregnancy safe.
It's like peptides.
It's so, so good.
I honestly think it's the best product in the world.
Really?
Genuinely it's game changer.
Game changer.
and because obviously this guy's not have Botox since being pregnant
and I spare it's like keeping the wrinkles a little bit of A
no wrinkles, not a single wrinkle in sight
well there is if I wrinkle my forehead
but anyway they don't stay they do but anyway
then I use niacinamide by
the ordinary
oh yeah the ordinary is good I will also say like
LMS is also fucking good oh Elamist cleanser
the cleansing balm oh it's just fantastic
Less is more, but you know what my, like, biggest thing is,
and I know that you don't like it.
You should think it does something to the skin barrier,
but I think it helps so many skinner's a bit.
That is like my game changer.
I love Cliniseuth.
They use it all day every day.
What are you doing about?
You said to me you don't, don't use it too much because it will dry out of skin barrier.
It can if you use it too much.
I use it so much.
I cleanse my face with it.
No, I like do it before I do.
It's like my toner.
Yeah, same.
I do morning and night, but some people are using it like seven or eight times a day,
and I was like, why is my skin so dry?
and it was because I was doing it way too much
because every time I got off the tube
Oh, because you were thinking
it was like an anti-back?
Almost, yes, and it's not really.
Well, it is but yeah, it will dry out your skin.
It's like if you use anti-back on your hands
seven times, so your skin would dry out, yeah.
It's so good.
You see, that's just next level.
I mean, obviously I don't spread it over my makeup.
I do sometimes.
Do you?
If I've been on the tube and I'm like, that was rank,
it's going over.
I bet it doesn't do anything.
It's just lovely.
It's cooling.
And when I was in the summer heat.
I love the smell of it.
It just smells so clean and like.
Toby's like, it smells like bleach.
I'm like, it kind of does, but just depraise it out.
Oh, maybe that's why I love the smell of it.
It just smells clean.
Also, I also really like quarterly products.
Yes, I love them.
And they are like non-toxicie.
If you scan them on yucca, they're all really good.
Yeah, I use quarterly factor 50.
Oh my God, that SBF is fucking amazing.
It's very oily, though, I will say.
Very oily.
If you've got oily prone skin, I would probably stay away from it.
And then our makeup tip, Kylie Skinton, is just like, I will never ever.
Like I hope that problem.
I might stock up.
What I will say is I've got a few on my roster.
I swap between the Merit SBF.
Oh my God.
Skinton, SBF 50 is fucking incredible.
I've never used it.
Oh my God.
It's amazing.
You need to try it.
Oh my God.
Really amazing.
Kylie skin tint.
Amazing, tiny bit dry for me.
But I still am wearing it every day.
It's like so light.
And then also the Jane Iodale Foundation.
It's so glowy and you would really like it.
It's thicker.
It's a proper foundation vibe.
I'm really bad at mixing, matching.
Like, if I like something, like, I'm just going for that.
My hand is reaching in.
I just change my mind on the day.
It just reaches for something else.
I'll go through phases of, like, using something for one week
and then the next week trying something else and liking that.
And then I forget.
That's really good.
I'm not like that.
And the merit stick.
Love that still.
But I use it more for concealer.
Yeah.
And then also, we love.
Oh, my God, what about this lip bumper?
Oh, Dr. Dennis Grosch.
We put it on.
Yeah.
So if he's bought herself a lip bumper, but she's bought herself a lip bumper, but
She's watching so I can try it.
And then we can watch live our lips grow.
Okay, so this is like Dr. Dennis.
Dr. Dennis grows and it's plump and revised.
If you don't want to get yourself a lip job,
or lip filler or whatever.
A lip job.
That's so like my mom.
So my mom.
They've got boogocks in their lip and I'm like,
oh, they've had a lip job, haven't they?
Oh, they've had one of those lip jobs.
So you put this bad boy on.
Right.
And then they're going to start tingling, okay?
And we're going to see the different.
difference. Oh, they've already gone quite red. I know it does make them quite red. I then like
to take it off. I actually think it might make my lips look a bit OTT, but I think later on in the
day they look good. Okay. It plumps them. It feels like it's injected water into my lips. It's
really quite something. Yeah, hydration. It is good shit, guys. Okay, you've heard it here first.
Do we think it's worth 46 quid? I do. We've got so many questions. We do have so so many questions. I could
just sit and ask you everything about me possible. Should we just ask what your current skincare routine is?
Yes. So heads up, I don't work for any of the brands. I'm going to recommend. This is just stuff that I happen to use and buy. So currently, face wash-wise, I use the serravi-hydrating cream-to-foam cleanser, morning and evening. And the reason I use that is because it's super gentle because it's a cream cleanser. But I am still a little bit of oily combination. So it will foam up. So I know that my T-Zone is still squeaky clean. It also removes makeup very well.
That's important. It's when people like you use cleansing and then they have to use a makeup remover as well. No, that's too high-manations for me. I just need it all in one.
I agree. I don't love double cleansing. I'd much rather use one product that you can get rid of everything. The only thing is you then have to make sure that you have massaged it in for a good 30 to 60 seconds before you rinse it off to make sure the makeup goes completely.
And then I use an eye cream and a moisturiser and I like the Morad vitamin C.
Everyone talks about that. Vitamin C is so essential isn't it? I don't need it.
Especially for like pigment, right?
It helps even skin tone, all that stuff.
It will help with pigment, but it also helps your sunscreen work better as well.
Because vitamin C is an antioxidant.
So it reduces damage from free radicals.
So these harmful molecules that we get in sun and in pollution,
I mean, we live in a pretty dirty, polluted, filthy city.
So vitamin C or an antioxidant combined with your sunscreen
will reduce the damage from that,
and therefore it'll help your sunscreen work a little bit better as well.
Genius.
In terms of when you're choosing a good vitamin C,
if you go for something that's got L.
Escorbic acid on the ingredients list,
that's probably the most potent pure form of vitamin C that you can get.
So if you go back to the clinical trial data,
that's what a lot of the original studies were done on.
So it's the most effective type that you can get.
Vitamin C also works really well with other combined ingredients
if you're looking for a serum.
So combining vitamin C with vitamin E, for example,
or vitamin C and E with ferulic acid,
you almost get like double the potency.
So pure Vixie is great, but you can combine.
Okay.
I don't know why whenever I use VITC, I get like almost like a rash.
It looks like it's like a red, like red dots.
They can be covered up.
Do you remember I came in and I had it?
Yeah. That's when I use vitamin C.
It might be, some people can be a little bit sensitive to vitamin C.
It's a great ingredient, but if your skin is a little bit sensitive, it can cause a little bit of irritation.
The other ingredient that can do that is nicinamide.
A lot of people like using that for pigment and for oil.
control as well. It doesn't suit everybody or the formulations don't suit everybody. So you might be
better off going for maybe a different variation of vitamin seed than the one that you tried.
Okay. I would recommend as a general good routine, cleanse, moisturise, sunscreen in the morning,
in the evening, you cleanse, you moisturise if you need to. I don't usually moisturise at night
because I don't need to. My skin is oily. And then I use a vitamin A or a retinoid product at
before I go to sleep.
I got told when you use a rational product,
you should not even, because when I,
I went through a stage of using it, I'm not at the moment.
It was very dry when I put it on,
but they were like, you shouldn't put a moisturiser on top
because it dilutes the product.
You've got to sort of, and it was working.
Trust the process of a bit.
My skin was like so small pores, no oil.
Yeah.
So I just had to sit with that sort of tight
because I liked going to bed with literally this thick moisturiser on my face
on top of everything, see little layer.
Me too.
Okay, so what I would say with vitamin A in general and that whole thing about diluting the effect, it depends on the potency or the strength of the vitamin A or retinoid that you're using.
So retinoids are just an umbrella term for vitamin A creams in general.
Then you've got prescription vitamin A creams.
So these are things like tretanone or adapoline, which somebody would prescribe you.
Then you've got the stuff that you can buy in skincare.
So those are things like retinaldehyde and retinol.
Retinaldehyde is stronger than retinol.
Right.
So when you are starting a vitamin A, you probably want to start with something you buy over the counter.
So something like a retinol.
Okay.
And what you probably want to do with that is at night time, so you've washed your face, you've got a clean base.
I would normally recommend you use a P-sized blob of that retinal, and you start using it once or twice a week initially.
Okay.
Do not use it on consecutive nights.
Maybe do you look on Monday and a Thursday.
So your skin gets a recovery.
On the in-between nights, thin layer, full face, avoid the eye area.
And I would suggest if your skin is sensitive, maybe five, ten minutes later, go brush your teeth, get ready for bed, put a moisturiser on top.
Yeah.
And that way, you're not really diluting it down because you've allowed absorption of one.
Just go into the skin.
And then absorption of the other.
Just don't smack the layers on top of each other.
Oh, my God.
So it's allowing that.
Because I do often think, God, it feels like it's absorbed by the time we go to bed.
And I'm like, sure.
Your skincastle on it's like 5pm.
Yeah, I do it.
Oh, I get it.
Okay, you can definitely moisturise before bed then.
Because I'm like crispy.
And also like it's a bit dry around my nose.
Yeah.
Do I like, yeah, just put it.
Yeah, so that's really common actually.
Most people do find they get a little bit of peeling around here.
And it's usually around the mouth area as well.
So that's often because product pulls in those areas as well.
So it's almost having a slightly higher concentration of effect.
Because it's kind of catching in the nose.
It makes sense that it would catch those places.
They're not a place to get crispy peat in skin.
No, it's not.
It's my, I hate your crispy nasal area.
What you need to do, though, is cotton bud tip, apply the moisturiser first to those areas.
So you've created a barrier or a sealant and then put your retinal on top.
Oh, can I ask this question?
How much does what you're eating impact upon your skin?
Because I feel like this is also something that people don't think about.
And I listened to this clip and it was like this woman who was like a skincare expert and she was like, you know, and often people are like,
I eat so healthy.
though, I wake up and I have an oatmeal latte and she's like, that already is where you're going
wrong with the oat milk and stuff like that. It's actually affects it more than you think.
Yes. So there's a couple of things I'd say. So the first thing is if you have a certain
medical skin condition. So you've got acne, you've got rosacea, you've got eczema, you've got psoriasis.
That's multifactorial. So some of that is just purely down to the way that your skin cells
are programmed, the way that your genetics, your family history, your DNA are. And there's only so much
you can do to change that. But there's absolutely no doubt that lifestyle factors, diet being one of them, can also have an impact in skin. So I also am not a fan of oat milk either. And it's one of the questions that I do ask patients when they come to clinic. What is your diet like? Is it inclusive? Are you vegan? Are you vegetarian? Is there anything you eat or don't we? Do you have dairy? And the reason why I'm not a fan of oat milk is because of all of the plant milks that are out there, it's got the highest glycine.
index. So what that means is when you have the oat milk, it really causes a spike in your blood
sugar levels. A spike in your blood sugar levels lead to a spike in another hormone called
insulin, which then leads to another spike in another hormone called IGF1. An IGF1 further downstream
has got similar effects to testosterone, and even women have testosterone. And what testosterone does to
our oil glands is it makes them a bit big and plump and juicy. Oh my God. You're kidding me. Essentially,
high glycemic index foods have been linked to particularly female adult acne.
So I always say to people, if you're going to go for a plant-based milk,
you're better off going for either unsweetened soy or almond milk over something like oat milk.
I mean, people love oat milk because it tastes great and it tastes great because it's full of sugar.
Yeah, or rapes, you know, which makes it like creamy.
Oh, that sounds like that's one example of people cutting out, for example, dairy,
switching to oat milk.
And actually, probably the dairy, the full fat dairy, is better for your skin.
than the oatmeal is.
So that's one good example.
I've recently started dating this guy
and we haven't slept together yet,
but not because I don't want to.
The truth is, I'm really insecure about my body hair.
I've quite thick hair and when I was younger
I didn't shave properly,
which left me with razor bumps
and some stubborn spots
that make me self-conscious.
I also worry about hair in unexpected places
and feel this constant pressure
to be perfectly smooth.
I can't shape the fear
that once he sees it,
he won't find me attractive anymore.
I know confidence
is keen, I want to feel good about myself, but this insecurity is really holding me back.
Have either of you ever felt insecure about something at the start of a relationship?
How did you push past it and stop it from getting in the way of your relationships?
One of my good friends had very similar growing up, like, they would turn into spots that would
then be like, not cystic, but like it would almost be like she had acne on her, like, hairline.
Oh, no. Laser saved her. Really? Really, really helped her.
I don't know if maybe looking into that from like a longer term thing might be quite beneficial for you,
something that bothers you because I get that that's really annoying yeah I get that um I also don't
think guys really give a fuck about that sort of thing I really don't being honest like I just don't
think they do I really don't either particularly like you know we've already said it you've had it
if that's the bush is back a B um some guys have different preferences you know and see they're not gonna
care about razor bumps like they're not fine that's not and and I don't
think he's going to like shine a torch on and look at your...
No, listen, I think...
But I so get it. You've obviously...
I get it. I get it. I get it. And you feel you want it all to be smooth. Also,
with the unexpected places, that's just we all feel like, you've just got to fill
around, you've got to do some inspecting. So are we talking like, I'm just going to be really
graphic, like, around like the balm and like...
Yeah, that's what I'm heard of it. There's a lot of crevices as a woman, right?
Yeah, we've got to really be sort of like getting in there. And are you talking about, like,
you haven't, maybe you think you've missed something and you're like, shit, I was an unexpected
I think of area of hair that I've missed.
If I was you, I would just go and get it lasered ASAP.
Because even after one session, it can really make a difference.
And you might just feel bad as subconsciously about it, which...
Agree.
Also great when you're wearing bikinis and stuff, you might feel better about it.
But you can get at-home laser IPL machines that are really good.
We've actually done an ad for one that was, like, amazing ones.
I think it was Phillips.
But do some research, look at reviews and see what you think.
I also think Kenzie is a pretty good one.
There's a few that you can get there.
Yeah.
Maybe a little bit of an investment, but maybe not.
as much as getting it done professionally.
So also if you really, if you do want to shave, like just get like shaving foam and
like use a men's razor.
Make sure there's enough lubricant on there.
And secondly, then all get like the Gillette women one with like the goo.
I like the Estrid.
Oh yeah. Estrid.
It's amazing.
There's something in that like cream on the front of the razor that's so like smooth.
It really, I think if you're dry shaving, there's not enough lubricant there, that gives you a rash.
Also, exfoliation is key.
The moment you've shaved, I would exfoliate it with one of those gloves.
And every time you shower, gently exfoliate the areas.
I'll let the hairs come back through.
Because if you don't, I think that's where you can run into some issues.
In growing hairs.
I think glycolic acid body wash is meant to be good for that as well.
I sometimes exfoliate before.
Same.
Because then you're like...
Fresh.
Yeah.
Agree.
But I really wouldn't worry.
Like, he's not...
Firstly, like, he's not going to open up every single whole of you on the first day.
And secondly, like, trust me, he's not going to give a crap if there's like a couple
hair somewhere.
like seriously they've seen it like
he's would have slept with women who have pairs
we're not all like Barbies
agree also you probably think I think
boys are really fucking insecure too
you always forget that that they're another person
like there's actually a lot of pressure on the boy
to like give an amazing performance on the first round
we can just kind of lie there
so he's probably in the same position as you
also don't take away the fact
that if you're in get to that stage
he's going to be really fucking horny like
trust me I don't
I think we think that they're like inspecting our body.
Like we are much more picky and inspective than they are.
Like they're just like female body fit.
We want to have sex.
Like it is pretty much that.
So yeah.
I would just, yeah.
And I would just make sure you do like if you want to be smooth and shaven and that's your thing.
Like just do that on the day you're seeing it.
Do it on the day.
And I would also say don't try and shave immediately like the next day because that's,
I feel like when you get like a bit of a burn.
Let it fully come back a little bit
before you go in again.
Yeah, and if it's coming back a bit
and you have set at the next day,
like it's not a big deal.
Like, I've done that.
I mean, honestly.
Come on.
I mean, we've all had to do that.
We all, it's fucking human nature to have hair.
It's going to, you're going to get an ingrowing hair every now and then.
It's going to be a stabbled.
Oh, like, come on.
Sometimes you're going to get a car.
And you know what?
Just grow out a landing strip.
He might like it.
And it saves you that little uncomfortable nook in the middle,
which is sometimes where the toughest bit is.
is to look smooth.
So leave the landing strip.
Is it a landing strip all the way up?
No, mine's choice.
Because I've had laser.
So you just have like, well my landing strip's like maybe, how would you say?
Like an inch.
An inch.
Yeah.
So it literally just covers like the line.
Yes.
Like the lips is it.
The crease.
No, no, it's not.
It's above.
It's above.
Yes.
At the top.
It's just at the top.
That's the best bit because that's the bit like the thickest bit that grows up.
Yes.
Precisely.
So it's easy to maintain.
We hope you're okay.
And just so you know you're not alone like everyone.
Everyone goes through this.
I remember being in like uni halls
and being like, oh my gosh, you know,
I'd forgotten a razor.
Like I needed to get a new razor.
And I was like, can't, can't.
They don't get.
No, they really don't.
