And welcome to our new podcast, Wednesdays We drink wine hey guys guys me melissa melissa and i we've been reunited we've been reunited she's slightly hungover i am a little bit hungover confession i feel like her if the dog will sort me out okay so firstly we're reunited which is just wonderful it's been forever i actually think it's been how many episodes have we done now not together? I reckon five. I've got really itchy nose.
Starting point is 00:01:07 Long up my same hay fever. Is yours bad? No, it can't be back again. Mine's really bad and I was like, either I'm getting cold or it's hay fever. But now it's gone. This morning it was horrendous. I think that's hangover. I'm telling you, it's all the sulfites in the wine.
Starting point is 00:01:19 Dolly gosh, guys. It's been a heavy couple weeks for me, I'm not going to lie. A lot of drinking. Oh God, I need some time out. You lot of drinking oh god i need some time out today i need some time out yeah we've got like three wines in front of us yeah okay so we thought what we would do was we try a really expensive one with a really cheap one sophie obviously as usual hasn't done what she was meant to do so i've got a reason you know an average i think it's about 12 quid 13 quid and then we've got well actually i by accident ordered on delivery a wine and i
Starting point is 00:01:52 thought it was a full bottle obviously it's literally like an airplane size bless you you must have been so happy it's 180 mil it was like three pounds i was like oh my god this is going to be amazing oh my god to try it might actually surprise us no so for full bottle size it's what like seven pounds so it's still like pretty cheap yeah very cheap that's a really good price so we've got the first one which is the more expensive and it's really weird so i actually have this in my wine thing for ages and i've always wanted to try it because it said it was completely organic. It's called Gran, how do you pronounce it? It's Ferdow.
Starting point is 00:02:26 Oh. Pig. But it's spelled C-E-R-D-O. And it says, Gran Ferdow is a great wine dedicated to the bank executives that denied loans to us on the basis that wine is not a seizable asset. One day these greasy, it's pretty weird. One day these greasy and sweaty corporate suits will find
Starting point is 00:02:43 that the best things in life cannot be impounded thanks to our friends here we finally able to enjoy this bottle of wine enjoy it with consciousness and love and then it gives you a lot of bitterness behind yeah then it gives you um a description of a pig a pig it's a bit it's a little bit unique niche yeah it's pretty weird it's a spanish wine and it's obviously it's white wine niche. Yeah, it's pretty weird. It's a Spanish wine, and it's obviously, it's white wine. And although it says it's organic, it does contain sulfite. So, I mean, not to arrive on it. So, not 100% ideal. Why does it even say that it's organic, though?
Starting point is 00:03:15 Well, I don't know. The green, maybe I just... It doesn't even say it's organic. No, it was under organic on Zap. Oh. The green, I think, the green led shortly. Maybe. It doesn't bloody say it on the back maybe it doesn't bloody it's got basically the
Starting point is 00:03:26 front of it as a pig scoffing down those money yeah okay should we try it okay oh that is wang no that's not it's not nice i actually think that might be cool but what even no it's not cold you'd be able to it would taste like mold if it was cold oh it's like a you would know but like i don't even know what type of wine i know that to, it would taste like mold if it was cold. Oh. It's like a, you would know. But like, I don't even know what type of wine it is. I know, that to me,
Starting point is 00:03:48 just tastes like, almost like a mix between a dry white, the driest white wine you've ever had, like almost just the acid of it. With a beer?
Starting point is 00:03:58 Do you know what I mean? It's got like a bit of a yeasty taste to it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. The colour of it's like quite yellowish. Yours is very watered down compared to mine as well. Oh, well good luck to you. That, yeah, yeah. The colour of it is like quite yellowish. Yours is very watered down compared to mine as well.
Starting point is 00:04:05 Oh, well good luck to you. That, I feel like that should be, you know Spanish wines are always like quite yellowy, like Aberyn, yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:13 Reserva is that one? No. I don't even taste notes or anything, do you? No, it's just a taste of alcohol. Yeah. There's no like floral or...
Starting point is 00:04:20 It's only 12% as well. Well, not that that's low, but... I think that's, is that normal? 12.5? No, some can be 14. 13 or 14. So, I'm not getting much flavour at all, it's only 12 well not that that's low but i think that's is it 12.5 13 or 14 so i'm not getting much flavor at all it's just like nothingness but then it's not for me you can just taste the alcohol it's not my favorite i'm trying to like pick up some sort of like
Starting point is 00:04:37 it's just so dry i can't even tell you it doesn't even have like a description of what the yeah so this is not my favorite but we have got the cheap one to try. I can't drink a whole. This aftertaste is a bit... There's a weirdest description on the back. Okay, so this is the really cheap one. We should do a little slurp of this. Okay, we don't have any ice in this either.
Starting point is 00:04:56 Yeah, so this will be more of a true taste representation because there's zero. This looks really nice. This is called Stowell's. Stowell's. Stowell's. And it's just a Pinot you know light crisp and refreshing exactly what we like from italy this sounds a little bit more like yeah it's normal oh oh jesus i mean it's way i think it's because it's warm it's way better than that other one can we just put a little bit of ice in there and then i'm going to give myself...
Starting point is 00:05:26 If I'm totally honest, we actually have got a bottle like Lady A, which is, I think it's like... It's a back up bottle. It's rose because I just thought... I tried a bit of the... No, it's just not for me. Well, at least we've had a bad wine that we don't like because normally we love all the wines. I feel like this is like if you're really not wanting to like, I think it's like if you're having a party and you're not wanting to drink much, you do like a couple of nice bottles at the beginning of the night and then you go on to this. It's fine with loads of ice, but it's not special.
Starting point is 00:05:56 Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's totally fine. Like that's not a great bottle of wine. That first one's fine. I actually don't like it. Yeah, I don't really either. So, not really good at what i would actually say that that is i actually think that's better no no no no that that the more expensive one for me was the worst thing i've ever tried really sorry so awfully rude about it i'm
Starting point is 00:06:19 really sorry it's just my brutally honest it's only my opinion but that that i could not drink that if you i'm not a fan of either of those and i think you know what i actually think we've both been quite spoiled for choice recently because we've been with our parents who drink really lovely good wine and like and also we drink really nice wine yeah we do because we've been really lucky we sent really lovely like wine by loads of people okay let's should we just give them like a quick rating right now because i give the first one a three or two like that's I'll give it a three and I'll give the second one a why would you give I give this no I give the second one a five because it's pretty
Starting point is 00:06:50 average it's I think that you wouldn't notice if I think you can get cheap wine that's much better than that you're like wow this is nice whereas that I was like I wonder if it's because I just had a banana smoothie before drinking but I haven't, but you're a bit hungover. Do you ever find when you're hungover like your taste buds are a bit off? Yeah, maybe. I think I actually prefer the more expensive one, weirdly. Yeah, you weren't repulsed
Starting point is 00:07:14 by that night. I wasn't as repulsed as you. Well, there you go, guys. Ladies and gentlemen, that is... A bit of a disappointing taste test. We've got a little backup. Well, no, it was kind of my fault.
Starting point is 00:07:24 I've never even tried this. It's actually really nice. You'll probably not like this either. It's a really pretty bottle with a little box of pie on it. So this is Lady 8. I'm pretty sure it's like the house wine at Soho House. Guys, we do have to talk about one thing, actually, that is really exciting and way more positive than our wine experience.
Starting point is 00:07:43 Jen and... David Shrub. David Shen and davis davis ross and rachel ross are they or are they okay wait hold on but we i feel like it hasn't been it hasn't been from like a legitimate source do you think it's real there's no like legitimate source i wouldn't be surprised because she always she always has a fling with whoever she's sort of filming with like right justin ther, she did their Wonderland. Vince Vaughn, she was with Rages. The Breakup. Brad Pitt.
Starting point is 00:08:11 I don't think she actually did anything with him. No, maybe not Friends? No, Friends, they brought him on when they were together as like a lolz. No. Okay, and then he hated it. I didn't realise. And then they've just obviously been filming about the reunion and probably getting class together and then she's with David
Starting point is 00:08:26 maybe they've just been spending a bit more time together recently I think she just falls in love quick but what I want to know is why they never
Starting point is 00:08:32 lock a lockdown do you know what I mean why she's never actually managed to well or she's the one who is like bye Felicia
Starting point is 00:08:40 she just likes being single no I don't you know what it's funny because we think we know her from the films she's done, but, like, in real life, we obviously just... I don't think she's a legend. I honestly do.
Starting point is 00:08:50 I watch her. I watch all, like, every YouTube thing about her. I'm actually such a Jen fan. So you think she's a bit of a loner, essentially? I think she's just like... No. No, I think she would like to be with a man, but I think she's super independent
Starting point is 00:09:03 and a lot of men can't deal with that. I'm going to go with that rather than thinking that she's the one who's crazy. I don't think she would like to be with a man but i think she's super independent and a lot of men can't deal with that i'm gonna go with that rather than thinking that she's the one who's crazy i don't think she's crazy i just think especially in that pressured environment like we can't even imagine what that like celebrity environment is like i love it no not the money that's easy yeah that would be lovely i'm talking about lovely. I'm talking about, like, the pressure of, like, Hollywood and the celebrities. And we're looking at, like, a 50-minute... Stop this. Oh, God, the dream. J.Lo and Ben Affleck.
Starting point is 00:09:33 Yeah, well, we just don't know. A lot of... I love it, though. Like, I really hope they are. And I think it would be nice if he's... Like, the fact that they also, like, came out and said on their reunion that they had a crush on each other when they were younger. Which is so cute when they were filming. there was never the right time and now it's obviously the right time that's just such a dream that is a dream guys we'll all have to like have a
Starting point is 00:09:52 part throw a party we will um another really great little uplifting thing is we've had a follow-up from do you guys remember the girl he was slightly nervous to spend time with her boyfriend after a load of time apart during the pandemic and they were well she was worried that they would have nothing to say to each other was this when they were spending like a week together yeah yeah yeah and we were like don't worry you'll probably end up like sitting but if not organize so a couple bits yeah yeah anyway this is what she put hey girls just wanted to say thank you so much for reading my dilemma the week went absolutely amazing didn't get bored at all and was actually really sad it had to end oh that's so good went out for nice food evening walks made cocktails and climbed two monroes oh my god fabulous i think it's like we've got photos guys she sent in photos we can't show you obviously
Starting point is 00:10:42 because it's a non but oh my god i love i love a photo delicious food i'm gonna look on my phone as well rather than like peering over your shoulder anyway she had update my job has recently just moved me to the same city as my boyfriend so i'll guess we will see what happens now in our relationship lovely oh my god after hearing you guys read out my dilemma it also made me realize that my insecurity about someone getting bored of me is actually not a me problem. Oh, my God. That makes me happy. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:11:09 They look so cute. Yeah, you're definitely not boring. There's not one part of you being boring. I'm not going to change myself just to please someone else. A hundred percent. So, thank you. I'm just going to be me, and I'm sure someone will love me for that. Much love, girls.
Starting point is 00:11:22 Over and out. Wow. Well, love you. That is just amazing and these pictures are so cute can you see that's that's clouds they're on the top of this huge hill with clouds where's monroe i think they mean like like that means they've been hiking up hills and stuff like that like mini not mountains but like oh my god she's so sweet oh my god you guys look so happy the food looks so good i think that makes me want to go out to eat so badly looking at that, doesn't it, do you?
Starting point is 00:11:46 Yeah, I am going out to eat. I'm so happy for you. That bao bun looks absolutely divine. You know what? I always think they look good, but I just don't like them that much. I wish I did. Harry's in love with them. Jamie's in love with them, yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:59 I'm like, have mine. Yeah, I don't. It's like boiled dough. It's something about it that just doesn't like really like my friend yeah my sister and harry is obsessed tacos though i will say one of my favorite i prefer tacos and like duck pancakes like that's more my stream i love a duck pancake i love it i've never had i hate hoisin sauce but same same that was gonna be so did i in the same i got too excited that she didn't like it only because
Starting point is 00:12:25 everyone says to me like isn't it so dry without the duck sauce and I'm like it's so much better without the sauce I hate the sauce
Starting point is 00:12:33 guys let's do a poll on insta do you have hoisin sauce or no hoisin sauce plum sauce whatever it's called yeah yeah the same duck sauce
Starting point is 00:12:41 whatever I really don't like duck sauce I hate duck sauce like it's so nice with the crunchy and then like I like the powder I like the pancakes just on the right yeah yeah the same duck sauce whatever i really don't like ducks i hate that sauce like it's so nice with the crunchy and then like i like the powder i like the pancakes just on the right yeah oh my god i used i used to fold them up and then like bite into them and like make like the way i used to be when i was younger i think it's because i grew up with my mom like making me a little like duck pancake every time they would like every now and then they'd have a takeaway.
Starting point is 00:13:06 And she'd obviously do it with, like, really basic things to try and get me to like it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So she wouldn't put the sauce in. So that's just how I've always loved it. Yeah, the sauce is just really not my flavour. It's not for me. But I don't really like brown sauce either. I've never had brown sauce.
Starting point is 00:13:18 I don't like brown sauce. No, no. I hate mustard as well. I love mustard. I can do a tiny bit of Dijon mustard in with like a meal, like if I'm making like a creamy dish and it's like a very subtle like flavour in the background, but I can't like shove a load of mustard on.
Starting point is 00:13:31 I'm like, no, no. I could eat a sweet and fruity mustard. You are lying. No, I'm not. Is mustard made out of horseradish? No. Let's move on because I feel like I can actually talk about food all this bloody night.
Starting point is 00:13:43 Guys, I promise you I'm not drunk. I've had about three sips of this rose. Talk about food all night. All of this bloody night. I think you've been locked away for too long. Something's happened to me, guys. It's not a day. She did have to do the quarantine, so maybe that's why. Oh, that was a pain. Okay, just one last time. If you could have a condom on for the rest of your life, what would you have? A condom? Wait, what? If I could have a condom on.
Starting point is 00:14:11 Like a condiment. Yeah. But is it for us? Something's wrong with that. A condiment. Maybe salt. No, I would say that's a start. Okay, so that's not allowed.
Starting point is 00:14:23 No. Salt and pepper isn't included um hmm maybe rosemary that's a half sorry are you alright it's like
Starting point is 00:14:32 you're not into that you'd have mayo mayo or ketchup that's the only things I really ever use I would have ketchup no doubt yeah because
Starting point is 00:14:40 okay just one more thing if you have a spread for the rest of your life chocolate spread butter obviously to go on bread every day put it in the meals no i could go without butter i love butter but i would prefer to have my chocolate spread you eat chocolate spread yeah what nutella it's not actually nutella it's really nice it's really good i need to try that
Starting point is 00:15:00 let's get into the dilemmas hi i love the podcast and I'm in need of a bit of help. I'm 18 and me and my boyfriend have been together for two years. God that's a long answer don't you see? We got together at boarding school and we are best friends. We adore each other and share the same friends. He makes me so happy but things are going to change. At the end of September we are going to to uni two hours apart. He's going with all my best friends and I'm going somewhere alone. God, that's difficult. We have had a chat recently and in order to save the friendship and not waste our uni experience,
Starting point is 00:15:38 we aren't going to stay together. I actually think that's quite sensible just from the offset. I'm just a bit lost as I've never gone through this situation before as we are still together, but I know soon it's going to end in four weeks. God, that's really hard when you can see the end coming. I actually can relate to this.
Starting point is 00:15:55 I'm very overwhelmed and unsure how to cope. I know deep down it's for the best, but I just don't know how I'm going to cope without him. Oh no. I've never felt these emotions before and feel very lost and unsure what to do I'm just unsure how to get through it I just hope it's not the end and we get back together at some point any advice on how to deal with this and what to do during a breakup would be great thank you so much oh my god oh I can relate this
Starting point is 00:16:25 is hard because it's like you've not broken up for a specific reason it's like circumstances I did this so I wasn't this age and it wasn't at boarding school but I had my boyfriend at uni we went out for like three years no maybe like oh yeah three years something like you know first proper boyfriend yeah met him first month of freshers we basically had my whole uni experience with him and then I go to trap we finish uni he meets London I go traveling and we're like do we stay together we've got three months and it was one of those moments it was like maybe we should be apart but we sort of broke up on the premises that we were going to get back together right when I came back from traveling right so I don't know if it is similar because I guess you guys are just breaking up and it's
Starting point is 00:17:09 for uni which is however many years yeah it's very different but I will say going through that thing is like the circumstances in the way of your relationship I guess I don't think my advice would be really good because I actually don't I don't think that was the right decision I didn't enjoy my traveling because you were thinking about yeah i didn't i i wish i hadn't broken up for three months isn't very long though like that could have actually caught you probably could have very easily made yeah yeah we probably whereas university that is just a whole imagine trying to make a long distance relationship i think uni's whilst you're at uni with all those new people right okay i will i do actually have another one so my first boyfriend who I wouldn't really say was like a proper boyfriend
Starting point is 00:17:45 oh bless him we weren't in love you weren't old enough also probably to I guess oh no because she's quite young you probably can be old enough we just weren't I actually went to Newcastle University I think because of him
Starting point is 00:18:00 he was in his third year and when we got there he was quite a bit older than you yeah he was my sister's age right yeah my sister and he was really fit at school so i thought okay great we definitely were not in love um maybe he was with me but definitely not uh such a nice guy by the way oh god i hope he doesn't miss me definitely um regret talking about this now we got to uni and within my first week, I broke up with him. Right.
Starting point is 00:18:29 And that was the best decision ever. I could have stayed with him, but I broke up with him because you have no idea how much your eyes open for some people. You went to a boarding school. I didn't. I don't know whether this girl did,
Starting point is 00:18:42 but South and South... Yeah, they did. She said that's how they met. Right. So I think you're way more advanced I think when you're you're way more independent it's like a mini uni yeah yeah you for me who went to a little girl's private school going to oh god yes so sheltered like experience of life yeah and you have such a shadow so I think even going to boarding school this girl goes boarding school I think that
Starting point is 00:19:01 uni is such an eye-opener you meet you might completely change people have like complete identity yeah yeah crisis crisis or like completely revamp yeah transform i was hoping you knew you say that i was like transform yeah transform fandu casino daily jackpots guaranteed to hit by p.m. with your chance at the number one feeling, winning. Starting point is 00:19:48 See full terms at canada.casino.fandu.com. Please play responsibly. I think that this is a really good idea. I think you can always get back together, but I do think you will underestimate how much you want to go into uni and completely be free and have no restrictions and be so selfish yeah be selfish not have to go home and worry about because i know like with me like if i'm out with my friends sometimes i do think oh shit i need to let jamie you know where i am yeah and there's like oh god yeah which obviously for us we live with them we're at the age where it's but like when i was younger that would like you just wouldn't do it you just
Starting point is 00:20:24 wouldn't want to be at uni being like thinking shit, I need to go back and face time my boyfriend. I'm not going to, he's not going to be thinking about it either if he's at uni. And you are going to actually damage each other's experiences. If you're the whole time just obsessing with each other, you need to really like, enjoy the experience, make new friends. Because it's very easy just to, I'm actually not going to go out tonight, I'm just going to face time my boyfriend. And you miss out on so much. I actually knew one of my best, best friends I'm just going to FaceTime my boyfriend. And you miss out on so much. I actually know you'll have regret. One of my best, best friends went out with her boyfriend for the first year.
Starting point is 00:20:49 She then had the shittest second year because she didn't make friends. She didn't do freshers week. She always had to go home and call her boyfriend. She missed him lots. And then by second year, she didn't have friends. She missed out. People didn't think she like, you know, was very sociable. So it really hindered her experience.
Starting point is 00:21:04 I actually think you've done quite well. You've made 100% the right decision. Yeah. didn't think she like you know was very sociable so it really hindered her experience so i actually think you've done you've made a hundred percent the right decision yeah but i don't think it's healthy or right for you to consciously in the back of your mind think oh we're going to get back together after uni you can't have that okay you have to just literally let you know nature kind of run its course you've broken up now you can't have any contact he's there with i guess your friends so people probably will start telling you oh he actually got with someone last night or something like that that's going to be annoying but you really just gotta shut that out and embrace the new experience and i think it will be good because you're surrounded by new
Starting point is 00:21:37 people and no experience it's not like he was ever there so you're probably not going to miss him in that in that environment yeah it's like when you go back to a place. So say if Harry and I broke up, if you and Jamie can't break up and you still have to live here, you'd just constantly be like around the memories. You'd be like, I need a fresh place. It's so true. That sucks about breakups
Starting point is 00:21:54 because like what happens if Jamie and I did break up? God forbid. I'd honestly have to move out of London. I know. That's the annoying thing about our friendship groups. Like everyone knows everyone. Everyone's everywhere all the time. Well, that's a touch book that we won't break up. So that's my advice about our friendship groups like everyone knows everyone everyone's everywhere all the time well that's that we won't break up so that's my advice to you honey i think
Starting point is 00:22:10 you've done the right thing and just embrace a unique experience and breakups are hard i would put friends on spend lots of time with your friends yeah and just really throw yourself into it don't let it like get you down and loads of people will be going through probably a similar thing to be honest yeah loads of people are loads of people become single yeah my sister did five years minute she got to uni broke up with her boyfriend yeah wow did it within the first week so there you go there are a lot of cases like me where you go to uni in a relationship and within a week you're like no this is actually not for my yeah this can't work so i mean you've just you've just like taken that bit away it's probably
Starting point is 00:22:46 inevitable god we're very silly it will be it will be hard breakups are hard and they honestly sometimes feel like god i actually don't even want to wake up tomorrow because i can't bear the thought of being without him but like everyone has that you just get through it like eventually it's bloody hard but eventually you'll wake up one day and be like oh i'm actually fine yeah you really will um and good luck let us know how uni is how exciting and just how I feel this time so September's when everyone starts going back isn't it oh god I'm quite excited for you so fun I remember going shopping for all my uni stuff oh the bedroom and everything everything and then my parents packing my car up literally yeah Jamie was like my parents didn't
Starting point is 00:23:23 come up drive me to my uni once I was like what my brother didn't he had to just literally fly to America by himself that's so intense mid Covid
Starting point is 00:23:31 no no that's intense but my sister I remember dropping off my sister and thinking how jealous I was she had a really big room my room was a chair
Starting point is 00:23:38 like honestly it was like a prison second dilemma hey girls love the podcast i've been overthinking a situation i'd love to hear your thoughts because i feel like you'll be honest i'm in a great relationship for just over a year now we were having a nice conversation talking all things we remember from when we first started dating and falling in love i love those times the beginning is the best yeah when you're like nervous oh god yeah i miss that actually yeah yeah when you're like just wanting to put makeup on yeah yeah yeah like getting up in the
Starting point is 00:24:11 morning like brushing my eyebrows and shit like that yeah yeah yeah i know now i just don't care he was mentioning about me together and how amazing and giddy he felt but then he said do you remember that time he had sex on the beach and i know that wasn't me oh my god god god that's bad no i i'm actually angry for you i have more i need more information have we got more carry on i said oh that's awkward that must have been another girl but he insisted it was me he keeps it he kept saying he can picture it in his fore... In his fore... Anyway. But I know for sure that it wasn't. Am I wrong for feeling upset over this? I feel like the feelings of love and happiness he was describing are now mixed up with memories of his ex.
Starting point is 00:24:55 No, I'm with you. He insisted it's because... Oh, he's so happy with me, but he can't imagine being like that with anyone else. But I'm worried he's thinking about his ex or feeling for her thanks so much if you read this please can it be an arm of course it can be an arm but fuck jesus christ sorry i'd be fuming and imagine if harry already did that i'd be like i've done it a couple times with like movies i've been like no we went to the movie i remember being in the cinema and jamie's like it was not with me yeah i've done stuff like restaurants i'm like we've been to this restaurant.
Starting point is 00:25:26 He's like, no, we never have. I do quite a lot actually. Oh my God. Sex is bloody different. Sex is obviously very different. But to boys, maybe sex obviously isn't as big. Sorry. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:25:39 I don't think he's done anything wrong. It's obviously not his fault. But for me, that would really prey on that. I love that he's like, obviously convinced as well that it was you like or he's probably like fuck i know it wasn't but it's too late now i've gone too far i've got to carry it out flipping out what would you do i mean it's not done for the fence for a start it's just it's just a bit of a hurdle that you're not gonna have to get over because it's obviously gonna be like a bit of a complex like you're thinking that he have to get over because it's obviously going to be like a bit of a complex, like you're thinking that he's thinking out his mind. It's almost like it, to be honest, it's probably, without being mean because I'm the same, it's probably our insecurity rather than his fault.
Starting point is 00:26:10 Like we should be able to be like. You should be like, lol, that was me. Like I think if I said that to Jamie, Jamie would literally, it wouldn't even touch the size. Oh my God, no neither. He'd be like, oh cool. He was like, you didn't have sex with me in a gondola or like whatever. Yeah. But for me, I'd be like.
Starting point is 00:26:23 You haven't had sex in a gondola? No, I haven't. I actually haven't anyway i think he would be like if i if he said that to me i'd be like oh my god you're thinking about your ex like yeah i would think that but then i i know but i would take myself out of the box and be like you're being insecure like yeah i think that naturally it's like the first thing i think any girl would be like why on earth are you having memories that's obviously not about me it would really bother me that yeah that it would just play on my mind for a bit but you can't let it like overtake and become a problem because i think then like it's actually like nothing and
Starting point is 00:26:58 he's just said like oh shit actually that was a memory from someone else whoops yeah i do think it's not a big deal to either of you like for him that was just he was having sex on the beach and it was great like he obviously if he remembered it was her specifically he would not bring it up with you thinking it was you yeah you know what i mean for him it was just it was a great time on the beach it was sex he's not thinking like i had an amazing sex with my ex girlfriend and it's this big secret in his head he obviously can't even picture her face yeah exactly otherwise he wouldn't have said it for him he's just thinking like
Starting point is 00:27:26 great time on the beach but a sexy time yeah he's probably trying to like turn you on or something and like get you into bed and it all backfires oh remember that
Starting point is 00:27:33 yes I wouldn't take it like that he's thinking about his ex because if he was I doubt that he would say to you a memory no she's probably had a Freudian slip
Starting point is 00:27:40 or like just a slip and been like oh and then he's like oh god actually that wasn't her but i will i'd like to back you up like i do i feel for you yes i would really appreciate it that's like not really ideal it's really not ideal but you do it's one of those things where you've got to
Starting point is 00:27:54 always take yourself into a bar like when i'm in situations like that i can't be in front i have to take myself away and be like from an outsider's perspective yeah i'm like you're being ridiculous like this just isn't what he's thinking and then you go back in hey Melissa and Sophie I absolutely love your podcast and have a bit of a dress dilemma and would love some help we love this nice change up it's my 21st birthday in September and I'm looking for a dress i am having a party and since i am the birthday girl i need something that stands out a little bit but i hate dresses that are over the top i kind of feel you as september weather can be so awkward i am struggling
Starting point is 00:28:37 to find something that fits with the time of year i would love some suggestions of stars slash shops or even the type of outfit you would you wore on your 21st lots of love you don't want to know what I wore on my 21st oh my god no was it bad no
Starting point is 00:28:50 it was when like Hervé Lagarde Hervé Leger yeah whatever their dresses are actually really nice now they're not bandaging okay well it was when
Starting point is 00:28:58 the bandage look was in but that was in then so don't like beat yourself up it was like a rusty gold I know exactly that was like my dream dress at the time yeah it was like a rusty gold i know exactly that was like my dream dress at the time yeah it was one of the roles and i was so young yeah that's like a big deal having that yeah yeah i'm thinking that but like newcastle you'll be nice gold on style
Starting point is 00:29:15 it was like a rusty gold yeah it was and i was like super down but no no i think at the time that would have been gorgeous uh bandage dress no thanks for me at the time that would have been gorgeous. A bandaged dress. No thanks, not for me. At the time, though, that would have been really cool. Also, they are not, like, they're not. They're really lovely. They're really lovely dresses for anyone listening. They're just so not my style now that for me to look back at that, I'm like, wow, that's very different. Yeah. Also, my sister had just started doing makeup.
Starting point is 00:29:39 She'd just finished a Mewa course. I think that's how you call it. On the side. She was like, can I do your makeup and really good makeup which is i don't wear any dark eyeshadow slash no eyeshadow and she put like smoky eye on me and i literally had a fit and i also have like four humanga spots i've never had in my life oh god a classic they come up right that time i know on my wedding day i'll have acne no just stop it of course you won't i know anyway need a bit of back we need to know where it is well okay so if we're going for an all-round weather look i think it
Starting point is 00:30:11 doesn't matter if it's an event like you can do short or long i don't think it matters time of year september september it's not freezing bad legs for sure yeah i would get the legs out also i also think like just going back to like good old ASOS yeah I think a really good long I mean you need to dedicate three hours but yeah you really do also Zara's not for me it's not it's great for daytime wear it's not great for nighttime yeah I agree I like maybe their silk trouser seats but I'm not sure about dresses they're not the most flattering for me right they're very floaty they're oversized which is great for no I've got some that are really tight and they have like tie up backs you cinch in oh I've got that really great i can't fit into it now but yeah i do have that one with
Starting point is 00:30:48 the puffy seats no i might i've got a long white one a long pink one well maybe have a look at sarah because it's always a good yeah i think please don't like overthink it but like just keep your eyes peeled and i would not leave it to the last minute because then you get stressed i would get so stressed i would get really stressed at this minute. I would get really stressed. Also, I never underestimate a trouser suit. I think trouser suits are the most epic things ever.
Starting point is 00:31:11 I agree. I got a really cool one from Zara years ago, like an all white trouser suit and it was so sick. Oh my God, was that the one you watched at that event?
Starting point is 00:31:17 The like, shh. Well, yeah, when I first met you. Yeah. Yeah, that was from Zara. I remember. Yeah, it was so cool,
Starting point is 00:31:22 wasn't it? It was really cool. I was like, God, her outfit's amazing. This one, Melissa and I literally the first time we met. that was from Zara. I remember. Yeah, it was so cool, wasn't it? It was really cool. And I was like, God, her outfit's amazing. This one, Melissa and I literally the first time we met was wearing Zara.
Starting point is 00:31:30 Yeah, I remember it really well. Was it, was the, like the top, like, did it have like your arms? Bare arms, yeah. It was almost like a cape.
Starting point is 00:31:37 It was a cape. Yeah, it was really cool. And the bottom was super flat. It was very statement. I actually think you could go different and wear a trouser suit. I think that's so epic. Yeah, I agree.
Starting point is 00:31:44 Also the, I'm sure I know it's like we're going down a trouser suit. I think that's so effortless. Yeah, I agree. Also, the... And they're still in there. I know it's like we're going down a different route here because they do have cutouts and stuff. But sometimes you can find maybe just the trousers and then pair with a blazer. Oh, another really cool brand, which I love at the moment, is Withjean. Oh, Withjean's really nice. It is expensive, but it is super cool. I don't know how long you'd have...
Starting point is 00:31:59 There's a lot of really cool Australian brands. Maybe we'll put some on our story for brands that we adore. Is it Meshki? Meshki's really cool key mesh keys ready oh no Misha Misha is Australian Misha collection it's lovely same thing lots of unusual dresses yeah you maybe want to go for something brands like this the good thing is like Zara you probably like someone else will come with the dress on that's the only issue whereas these ones with jeans pretty epic we'll do some photos on our story yeah we'll do some on insta
Starting point is 00:32:27 we need to get bloody swipe ups on our instagram yeah 2000 followers get us to 10k and then we can and then we can do swipe ups for you yeah
Starting point is 00:32:34 oh that'd be exciting okay we've got oh no I think that's it but have the best time 21st oh my god yeah because don't get too drunk
Starting point is 00:32:42 because I got so drunk I don't remember half my minutes oh no you don't want to do that no you've got to really steady yourself and don't get too drunk because i got so drunk i don't remember half of my minutes don't do that no you gotta really steady yourself and don't worry about like being too cold always maybe just take a blazer because that's always nice oversized flavor yeah putting over the top looks really cool get one that matches like the color of your dress or that goes with your dress you know so that when it goes on top it actually looks like it goes yeah and 100% whatever you get send us a photo you're gonna look beautiful yes and we're very comfortable heels don't make the mistake of wearing heels that
Starting point is 00:33:08 you've never worn yeah but you could and then you could just put trainers on like i literally did that and put trainers on or just dancing you know what i mean yeah whatever i'm quite you've got it at the right time we're very lucky you're 21st that you can actually have a party now yeah you smashed it so think just think also you're going to look amazing no matter what but i think also without you've got to wear something you're comfortable in exactly more than anything god we really rather i know but i'm actually excited for you i'm gonna go my friend's going to 221st this weekend i'm like how do you know she's a 21 year old and she's like i don't know where she met them but she's like i'm so jealous right do you ever winter the week oh bolly i actually don't i do about what though
Starting point is 00:33:49 oh my god no can we just actually last week's winter the week i'm dead at that photo that i found of bella hadid i know i then sat that night and did it i do it all the time isn't it i've got my laptop like this yeah it's so comforting it was lovely mine is so low no they're not to be fair mine are i've got quite a long section here yeah my section just naturally it's long yeah neck to breast is neck to breast is a little bit long elongated it's elongated um i'm done so my whinge is you know when you're walking down the street and i know this is such a basic whinge but when people either walk really slow in front of you like no no or really fast behind you and it's like i'm not gonna run overtake me yeah i hate that and you're behind me i feel like i'm getting chased by
Starting point is 00:34:35 somebody and their keys like click click click and i'm like oh you're either listening to my conversation or i'm getting chased just overtake me so i like move out the side to let them overtake me i'm like just if i'm if someone's slow in front of me i overtake them so i like move out the side to let them overtake me like just if i'm if someone's there in front of me i overtake them so actually mine's people walking behind yeah you just don't want them like walking behind you they're just like they're like just overtake me otherwise you're lingering yeah yeah and then you should turn you back i when people do that to me i just like kind of stop or i slow down like look back and let them pass and then i just walk slower behind them or across the road do you do this when you cross the road with jamie i do not even look up and check no yeah because i
Starting point is 00:35:13 just carry on because i'm like harry's gonna do that for me and i'm so reliant on like yes him just like but i've always done that i've been hit by a car so that's in my blood i'm just i well you would think the fact that i've been hit by a car i'd actually be more aware aware but in fact i'm not i literally how were you hit by a car i think you've actually told me yeah yeah yeah i try i throw on it it's like my party story i live to tell the tale um i was going to school it's my first ever hockey match i was never good at sports you know and my mom had like yeah this skinny tiny little gangly thing walking across school and um a car just hit me there's no other way to
Starting point is 00:35:53 put it and i remember so did you just cross the road without checking well i must have yeah yeah and i remember being underneath his car like fully lag underneath car i broke my david beckham boat anyway remember being under the car and being like yeah it's like split bone or something someone met a castle or something anyway i remember thinking should i all the only thought i've been hit by a car i remember thinking should i pick my bags up or leave them on the side of the road like that's how weird your brain goes and then i ran like a mile on my broken foot oh my god across the road and i couldn't feel anything did the driver not stop and was like
Starting point is 00:36:30 he's i don't remember it's all such bad and then i got to my school and i started hobbling i was like ah my foot my leg or whatever so i ran so far on this boat you're lucky imagine if that hit your face or like i know and then i remember this lady with like a tiny, tiny toddler like grabbing me and being like, the whole thing's crazy. Yes, that's right. I got hit by a car. So you should really check. Probably got to rate our wines. I think we should.
Starting point is 00:36:57 I'm going to rate this one a seven. I really like this one. So the Lady A, this is, we've moved on to that. I'm going to rate that a 7.5. I don't think it's the best rose that we've ever had no but it's stunning
Starting point is 00:37:07 I'm actually going to not be so mean I might do a 6.5 yeah I'm bringing that down actually it's not that amazing is it like it's really nice
Starting point is 00:37:15 do you think our taste buds have gone off today no I just think that we've had a lot of wine we've got to be a little bit more you know brutal with the ratings
Starting point is 00:37:21 we can't be so generous with these two I'm going to stick with in between a 3 and a 4 like it's not yeah it's not blossom hill i can't i don't think i've ever i can't remember blossom hill it's like the neon pink one no i know but like i do a white one as well i actually wonder what maybe we should just for shits and gigs get blossom hill yeah i think we should that that more expensive one the third you didn't like that I really really
Starting point is 00:37:45 I didn't like it either but I actually kind of think it was better than this one but this is just like if you're I actually think it's like one of those
Starting point is 00:37:51 things if you're throwing a barbecue you have like nice nice right wine yeah everyone's a bit pissed you move on if I was a bit pissed
Starting point is 00:37:58 I would not have yeah you wouldn't really do you remember once we was really pissed and we went back to our friend Liv Bentley oh my goodness Liv pulls us we're like my goodness and Liv pulls us
Starting point is 00:38:06 we're like really drunk and Liv pulls us as in blackout don't remember it I don't Liv pulls us a glass of wine each and I spat it I was like
Starting point is 00:38:15 that's off what the fuck we looked Melissa I was like at the fridge and I was like nothing wrong with that
Starting point is 00:38:21 she was like delicious sipping away I look at the date it's like been off it was open probably two years Liv then jokes she was like I've actually had this. She was like, delicious, sipping away. I look at the date. It's like, been off. It was open probably two years. No, Liv then joked. She was like, I've actually had this open for like a week and a half. And I was like, nothing wrong with that.
Starting point is 00:38:31 And Melissa drank it. It's that and drank the whole glass. Can't taste anything at that point then when you're that drunk. Like, couldn't taste it. Oh, no, I really could. I actually got the memory of it. Couldn't taste it then. Anyway, guys, we better go because we're rambling on.
