Starting point is 00:00:36 And I'm Melissa. Welcome to our weekly podcast on Wednesdays We Drink Wine. The podcast where we drink wine, listen to your dilemmas, and have a laugh. Hello. Hey guys. Hey guys. Hey Melissa. Hey, what episode is this? I was about to say welcome back to episode four, but it's not. It's episode five. Five or six? No, maybe it is. No, maybe it's four. You guys, they're flying by now. We're just going, I can't get over how many we've done. No, it's number five it's five okay okay we've got a lovely wine a rosy wine today we can't make noises like that you can't scratch
Starting point is 00:01:13 it out a couple complaints also about the background noise i also i think it's you like we also need to like be in like a pad free here we do okay i'm gonna be very very gentle very light very light-handed so we can talk about the wine first yeah okay so this is early no bell okay mirror bow oh my god it's a really pretty bottle again and a lovely colored lovely coloured rosé. So, so far, it's looking fab. I mean, have we had, I think we have had this before, actually. I've had that wine before.
Starting point is 00:01:49 It's honestly so delicious. So Mirabeau actually do quite a few different wines. They've got quite a few. I wonder what makes, it must be the grape, right? Okay, why not? Shall we see if this is a Grenache grape? Let's see if this is a Grenache grape let's see if this is a grenache grape because i'm not sure if you guys remember but a couple weeks ago do you remember i said to you i was
Starting point is 00:02:09 like i know that with a rosé a grenache grapes always kind of a good way to go yeah i know but you did let's see if this is that maybe it might not be i don't know if it will say it's a lovely little light color oh my gosh the description is. Let's have a sip and then we can read the description and talk about the notes and stuff. The notes! Remember, also, Melissa and I have had lots of complaints about our ice clinking. Yeah, so we've put way less ice in the glass now,
Starting point is 00:02:36 so hopefully it's better. I'll just be a bit more conscious of like... Yeah, she likes to see this thing. She'd have to swirl her little glass around. Oopsie. Mmm. So nice. Oh, that's my favourite one, yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:52 It's so light. Okay, right. But that's actually, you know, the thing is, we've been saying it's really light every week. That's actually got more of a flavor. That almost tastes like that Gabby, that white wine we had. That tastes very similar. That's really nice. You know what? it's really hard
Starting point is 00:03:06 i think to differentiate unless you try them all at the same time together yeah you know but this is so nice like i could drink this all day long okay let's see what it says oh no wait let me try and taste okay you tell me what like flavors you can taste. Okay, what can I smell? I can't take myself seriously. No, go on. You're professional now. Oh god, I really don't know. Love it. Citrus? Stop it, she's got it. She's read the back of the book. I swear to you I haven't!
Starting point is 00:03:38 It actually says that on the back of the book. I swear, I get so impressed. I am so impressed. Citrus, hang on. Berry, blackberry and citrus. For fuck's sake, Sophie. She's fully read the back of it. No, I haven't! I swear. You are lying to me. No, it doesn't say blackberry. Okay, wait, you guys. It actually says,
Starting point is 00:03:56 Red summer berry. Shut up. give away to zesty fresh citrus flowers ask jamie with a pleasant soft finish so that to me i mean you are an excellent sorry guys thank you very much i i really i actually want to say one thing on this jamie if you ask him he's not here but if we got him in there he is like dumbfounded at my sense of smell and my taste buds. Like I, I'm not like. No, so it's not down. I like can smell, I can walk into a room and I'll be like, that's truffle with a bit of this, like every ingredient and it'll be in there. I remember when we went to Mordy's with his family and the dad was like, what's this?
Starting point is 00:04:41 And it was, there was fennel in this huge salad and a razor clam. What's that? There you go. No one's even had it had it it was chopped up so it wasn't even the shape on i was like that's right that's a cat it's not a normal clam it's a razor clam we asked them they were like no it got the weight over oh my god i'm actually really impressed because it's like so bang on that description and would i ever read the bottle i don't know maybe before i got here she'll you know i believe you i believe you i believe you that is okay so it said with a pleasant soft finish naturally low in sugar and it's a vegan wine which is lovely sorry this one's right up my street as well as a lovely aperitif what does aperitif like you have it you can just have it without food like before your food or after your food i think right is aperitif. What does aperitif mean? Like you can just have it without food, like before your food or after your food, I think.
Starting point is 00:05:27 Aperitif is before your food. Like whenever we get somewhere, my dad's like, let's go for an aperitif. You know? I don't know. I've never heard him say that word. And then what's the one that you have after dinner? An amuse-bouche? No, no, no, that's food.
Starting point is 00:05:41 Oh, they always give it to you when you go to Spain. They always bring you like a little... Like a liqueur, like a lemon chai. Oh, I am. A. Oh, they always give it to you, like, when you go to Spain, they always bring you, like, a little. Like a liqueur, like a lemon jack. Yeah, but what do they call it? A little palate cleanser. No. Anyway, you guys know what we mean. I love a lemon jack though. Yes, actually, I don't.
Starting point is 00:05:57 I like the, is it Tia Maria? The coffee flavoured one. Oh, no, that's my worst. There's nothing worse for me than a coffee cafe patron that shot that people gave me
Starting point is 00:06:08 I much prefer that to normal tequila shot oh much prefer it because it's like syrup yeah there's much
Starting point is 00:06:16 it doesn't make me sort of like have that like sicky feeling afterwards do you know have you ever tried patcharan
Starting point is 00:06:21 or patcharan oh no I'm not sure if it's only a thing in Spain but it's so tasty i'm not sure if it's only a thing in spain but it's so tasty it tastes like cough syrup but i love it i honestly don't care stop like cowpaw yeah guys the days of cowpaw weren't they just the best like the best did you guys i used to like honestly like medicine cup i would climb on top of the counter because it was so high
Starting point is 00:06:43 up yeah to reach and And I would guess it. And then I would, like, spend, I, like, worked out how to do. Do the bottle because you had to, like, press down. The chard log, I, like, hacked it from, like, age, like, 11. Oh, my God, that's too funny. And I'd, like, gulp it down. It was the best. Bassett's, Bassett's vitamins.
Starting point is 00:07:00 Do you remember that? No. Oh, stop, stop, stop, stop. Those vitamins, those gummy vitamins I'd eat the whole packet I had those I just remember cow pop phenomenal and I remember the sachets and I think my brother once got sachets at my mum's bedside table and she panicked because he'd had so many of them like just had all these sachets or maybe it was me but they were just so good so good is it um the what is
Starting point is 00:07:27 that particular liquor that everyone says it tastes like cough syrup um um I've never had it cough syrup liquor I don't know is it um sambuca yeah no sambuca tastes like licorice I love you've never had sambuca no I don't really like that licorice-y taste. Sambuca I'd have on ice. Really? No, I'll tell you what I would love. Oh, my God, my brain. It's that amaretto-y one, like Disarano.
Starting point is 00:07:58 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, there's actually a Spanish one, and it's like hazelnutty, and it's called Frangelico. It is to die for on ice with a bit of ice cream on.'m gonna top it what the toffee vodka it's called thunder toffee vodka yes we always have it sitting it's so delicious so good very sickly i mean full of sugar but it's the only way that i could actually really enjoy a really alcoholic sort of drink with ice in it yeah it's so banging we used to have it when we went skiing with uni um yeah I know that was so fun and I could really only afford beer and I look back at photos can you imagine can we just take a minute and imagine oh no that was such a fun trip I look back back at that and I'm like, what the hell? I would drink these beers.
Starting point is 00:08:46 And they were like 11 euros for a beer. You know, at Folly... Folly Dew. Yeah. Such a rave bar. And I thought I was so cool. Anyway, I got back to England. My stomach was so bloated.
Starting point is 00:08:58 And it's like, all the beer. All the beer. Beer belly on you. Come back from a ski trip. But it's the one thing about beer. I love a beer when it's warm and sunny like a corona with a bit of like love oh yeah nice love but after a while i am like oh god like i'm getting a bit bloated now you know also i only like it when it's like
Starting point is 00:09:16 really fizzy and really cold like halfway through the beer it's like jim i feel you um but how are you guys how are you melissa so lovely to see you oh stop me and sophie honestly see each other so much now it's actually like i honestly i'm like i feel like i come i come over like three times a week i don't i know i feel like i see you i think it's because we face have like six times a day it's true it is true also like what since when did we all start facetiming because like I don't look at your face do you know what I mean I'm walking down the road I know I look at your face that's why I put my face so close to the camera no but like when you're walking your dog you're not looking at me and we still facetime like why don't we just go on normal phone I never do I prefer to have the phone
Starting point is 00:10:01 in front of me yeah and not up to my face like I don't like it near my ear yeah but we have headphones I will yeah that's true I don't know why I FaceTime everybody like I don't call people anymore what do you FaceTime like even boys all your boy friends oh my god I only have about two no uh yeah I picture you FaceTiming Sam Thomas. If I'm calling Zara, then Sam's, like, always normally there. Then, yeah, that'll always be FaceTime. Really? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:34 I'm going to say, who am I kidding? But you guys have been sending in lovely dilemmas, as usual. Yeah, you guys are amazing. And your feedback has been super cute as well. Like, I feel like we're all, like, chatting to each other. It's just so much fun. I know. I feel like we're all, like, chatting to each other. It's just so much fun. I know. I feel like we're, like, a growing community. I know.
Starting point is 00:10:48 I will say there's been, like, a definite amount of girls compared to boys. Oh, my God. Of one million percent. But I also feel like... But boys do sadness and dilemmas. Honestly, I feel like we... I feel like boys' dilemmas with girls would be so sick at answering them because we know what girls are.
Starting point is 00:11:04 Yes. If you're trying to win over a girl or girls than this we're in the mind of those girls we can give you an in we give you the inside of the girl we can give you the inside information and you know what vice versa i was thinking the other day we should get jamie and harry maybe to like answer or be involved in some of the dilemmas go a bit of boy advice because you know guys just have such a different approach and like also they're so good at giving advice if like you're like this boy isn't doing doing me wonders if this boy isn't like you know when you can't get a boy well you just can't understand what they're playing they just totally like can get inside their brain they just because they've probably annoyingly they've probably done it at some point. And they just kind of know that mindset.
Starting point is 00:11:46 Yeah, it's so true. Those motherfuckers. My mum listened to our podcast. So really digressing, but my mum listened to it. I was like, please don't listen to it anymore. Because there's definitely proper things in there. Anyway, I don't know if you think anyway. But she like you and Melissa don't like boys do you? I was like no we do she was like you've really got it in for them don't you? Oh my god that's too funny no we're definitely not boy haters we're not I think we do I just think it's like you know we're talking if people don't write
Starting point is 00:12:22 in dilemmas about oh my boyfriend is such a dream that's not a dilemma so like I guess the topics tend to be about you know problems and that tends to be I guess a little bit more negative so there's obviously so many wonderful men and boys we love you know our boyfriends especially so we are definitely not boy haters but you know all girl haters I feel like sometimes we're also a bit like yeah she's being such a bitch but you know all girl haters I feel like sometimes we're also a bit like yeah she's being such a bitch but you know it's only because we're talking about problems and stuff like that so should we on that note read some of that yeah we also don't know what the dilemmas are we've actually had someone else pick them for us yeah just so I guess it's a bit more of a surprise um oh I'm excited okay this one's long I'm ready so my partner and I have been together five and a
Starting point is 00:13:06 half years and a few months ago he asked to marry me we're both very happy they're enjoying celebrating but aren't thinking of tying the knot for a long time instead we want to enjoy a long engagement as we're planning on buying our first house lovely I like that I would want the same thing actually do you see I just don't know if I want a long engagement but like how long are we talking I want like yeah no more I don't know I just want a long engagement but like how long are we talking I want like yeah no more I don't know I just like I think the sound of like he's my fiance and I'm engaged is slightly more I guess young fresh and exciting than he's my husband and I know that that's probably such a like controversial thing for me to say but that's just how I feel
Starting point is 00:13:40 like he's my fiance he's a bit more like there's a bit more finesse around that. Like, there's a bit more excitement, party-ish. But isn't that like something you can like, it's really crass to say the word fiancé. Is it? Yeah. Apparently those people hate saying that word. Stop this now. I've never heard that before. I might be being rude.
Starting point is 00:13:57 I honestly also, by the way, couldn't give a flying F and I wouldn't know myself. But I just had people in the past be like, oh no, I'm not my fiance and then they'd be like oh sorry that's so great and my boyfriend my partner like they don't say yeah yeah yeah like I hate it when also people say my husband this my husband that and they ram it down your throat your throat just say like I don't I don't I don't refer to Harry as my boyfriend all the time I just say Harry you know but some people when they get married they just fully convert over to my husband and i'm like okay we get you're married like you don't have to talk to me you're my husband yeah yeah okay he's your husband we all know that you can call him by his name now
Starting point is 00:14:34 it's almost like everyone must know in the universe that i'm married so i guess maybe that's the same thing with the fiance like stop ramming it down my kid yeah i get your engage yeah okay yeah fine okay that might be it anyway my dilemma is at what point would families meet one another oh our immediate family have never met one another as we live far away from hometowns and although we get on with our in-laws our families are very very different my family are all very introverted and my parents are divorced well his are unit and very extroverted. Is meeting at the wedding too odd?
Starting point is 00:15:07 Have your partners and parents met your in-laws and have they met each other? And when would be a good time? Thinking of them meeting has given me a little anxiety, not knowing how it'll turn out. Oh, that is, I get that. That's like quite, I guess. That's a really good dilemma.
Starting point is 00:15:20 It's just one of those family like wedding. No, no, my mother have to meet before the wedding. Are you kidding? Not, I guess, like, I guess if it just wasn't going to come about naturally and they were going to meet at the wedding, I don't think I would stress about it too much because you have to think at a wedding there's a lot of, like, I guess there's a lot of alcohol, there's a lot of other people there.
Starting point is 00:15:40 You're not the main focus of them meeting. Like, you guys getting married is the main focus. So maybe it would take the heat off of that and it wouldn't be like such a big deal like this is just for the parents to meet like this meeting it wouldn't be about that you know it'd be about your wedding and everyone would be there'd be loads of people there that they hadn't met yet so I don't know I wouldn't stress about it too much if it hasn't happened naturally maybe you have a little engagement barbecue or something like that and then you have all the friends and family over just to like give an initial me yeah but I don't think to put too much pressure on it like you know the family's meeting for the first time kind of vibe but have
Starting point is 00:16:14 yours has Harry made no they haven't but that's just literally because I guess the circumstance actually no they haven't I was just trying to think that they like spoken on the phone um isn't it weird no they haven't but like there's never been really a situation where they they would I guess because you know we both live obviously kind of far away from home my parents travel quite a lot Harry's parents are always busy all the time so my parents Harry and I live in London you know our parents both live in the countryside and whenever we go to see our parents we're not going to be like right we'll bring Harry's parents too so you guys can meet like it's quite an unusual circumstance I guess yeah you know yeah it is a weird you also have met though well sort of well
Starting point is 00:16:59 sort of so my dad has met Jamie's dad's side of the family. So Jamie's dad and Jamie's stepmom and all of his sister. Jamie's got a huge family, so he's met like half of it. But that was a really unusual second thoughts. That was. Usually always go abroad for Christmas. And we went skiing for Christmas. And my dad had just broken up with his girlfriend. So it was a really small Christmas.
Starting point is 00:17:23 It was just the three of us, my sister, my dad had just broken up with his girlfriend so it was a really small Christmas just the three of us my sister my dad and myself and Jamie's dad was weirdly skiing in the same resort as us we'd only been going out of like last year yeah I remember it being really soon and I was like god that's a big step and you're like I know but like it's just a natural circumstance like it just worked out and his family just really kindly were like but it was weird because we never like hung out at the resort beforehand and then it was just like christmas eve my dad had like dinner like drinks and dinner whatever at ours our chalet and then he the jamie's dad was like would you like to come in for christmas day and we were like yeah sure like we skied in the day and then no pressure like yeah circumstance just happened that was so lovely yeah yeah so I think in that so exactly so if like Harry's mum or something was staying
Starting point is 00:18:09 in London and my parents were in London we'd be like oh let's go out for lunch together like and we actually have almost done that but then there was a lockdown so we had to cancel it we all went to be in London the same day so like but that wasn't like a purposeful right our parents must meet you know yes do you know what you've also I kind of know what you mean because I think if your families are really different I my family are not that different to Jamie's as in like yeah my family are massively introverted they're not massively extrovert Jamie's family are very relaxed as well like then neither are extremes so I wouldn't really be so nervous about the meeting but I guess maybe my mum is like quite like my mum's quite shy she's not that shy but like she's she's not as extrovert as like my dad I'd kill I'd throw him into any
Starting point is 00:19:00 situation like yeah you're fine whereas my mum I probably be slightly more now. It's probably the vibe of like I guess my parents are divorced so it's not like you know it's like the pressure of like one parent. Yes yeah yeah yeah. A whole family unit so like my family is quite loud and like not crazy but like my mum and dad are like I guess extroverts and like you know love a good party and like my family just like my dad always says like it's very like oh bless you like you've come into the Tatum party, and, like, my family just, like, my dad always says, like, to Harry, like, oh, bless you, like, you've come into the Tatum family kind of thing, like, we're all mad, like. Oh, really? I would never think of your family as mad. But they're not, we're not mad, but, like, he always just, like, says that as a joke, because, like, there's always just something, like, a bit, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:19:38 Oh, what? Like, what? I'm trying to think, I'm trying to think of an example. Like, there's always just, like, a bit of a party, or, like, I don't know, like, there's always just stuff going on, you know, like, there there's always just like a bit of a party or like I don't know like there's always just stuff going on you know like there's always like a bit of a mad house I thought your house would be the complete opposite I feel very tranquil like very family it is but like whenever I guess Harry like comes for a long period of time with me and we go away with my family we're always going to Val d'Azer and there's always like a lot of I guess alcohol whisky like it's all crazy and then in the summer it's the same like you know going on to like you in your downtime or like you know it's always the occasional obviously
Starting point is 00:20:14 like weekend in Somerset and that's very like nice barbecue in the garden but it is like I guess a bit more of a crazy environment than just like popping out for lunch with your mum yeah you know yeah so and there's more of you yeah but I think that that probably works like if your parents are maybe both two I guess no but she's saying that one of her I think her family's introverted and divorced and his like a unit so I would imagine a huge family really extra I think that's actually better because yeah your his family will just break the ice. It won't be awkward because they'll just come over and, you know, just talk to the ears of your family. Yeah, there's no sort of pressure on anyone. If it was two really introverted families, really quiet, that would be awkward.
Starting point is 00:21:00 You need one side to be extroverted. You do. I agree. And also, I think think as I said before like don't put pressure on like let's have an official meet for the parents because then that can be like a bit you know yeah I know I wouldn't be there I do get what she's saying though if like I had a really introverted family I don't so I can't really say but if I did I can see why she is a bit like oh I don't want you know on the wedding day but also you've got to think the wedding's about you like it's about you and your partner it's not really
Starting point is 00:21:31 your family will love and also the circumstances of like your parents both sets of parents actually coming into the same room again at any point in life it's like so unusual you know but they they can't I don't know growing up my both my sets of grandparents were so close we all had christmas together so it really depends on the family yeah i was just thinking back to that but you know some people don't some families don't work like that everyone is different i guess the politics of like in-laws and families is like all quite can be quite complicated i mean look at the royal family eyes oh i know megan and kate you know kate made megan cry at her wedding or whatever it was but i was
Starting point is 00:22:10 when i was watching that and listening to that i was like you know that's probably quite normal like there's always like politics and like pressures especially when in that situation like you can imagine your sister and all like pissing you off a bit and you should be like shut up you just cry because you're under so much pressure and stress oh my god I can't imagine it like I just love Jamie's like I don't like do you know what I mean I know but I was just thinking there is always sometimes like you know a pressure from like say your mother-in-law and it's just like oh god I don't know and I guess the pressure of that all on top of it as well as getting married and then also being a royal what would you do if harry's mom gave you her wedding dress and she was like i need you to wear this i would just go for like i
Starting point is 00:22:50 don't know i've never seen a wedding dress but i want to have my own thing yeah well she was like it really means a lot to me oh golly i would literally freak out like that's something kind of really because obviously james would never do that but like relax nice guy my mom's wedding dress she did beautiful like i would not even wear that my mom just wore a white suit very chilled but it was very very both of them so they were just like you know what it was very carrie bradshaw vibes so she'd done the big actually no Carrie didn't do the big wedding oh yeah she did but it didn't work out oh yeah he left at the altar so my mum had done that my dad I guess had done it as well and they were like you know this is just about us being in love
Starting point is 00:23:34 and being married and being together like we're not having a big fancy wedding so my mum just wore like a really like chic white suit and they did it at the registry office just like how big and Carrie did they went down to the um what's it called in America, you know? Yeah. The something hall, City Hall. City Hall. The City Hall. City Hall.
Starting point is 00:23:50 Yeah, it was like that. Sometimes I do think, like, what would my wedding be like? What would it be like? It would be massive. No, ever. I don't know. I'd have an absolute fuck all party. But my actual wedding, I'd want to be really small.
Starting point is 00:24:06 Small. I agree. I can't imagine myself, like, actually, like. I don't think I'll get married in England either. Getting married in the same vows. And I'm like. No, I would fully get that. I would start laughing.
Starting point is 00:24:16 Like, I physically cannot laugh when I'm not laughing. I'd be serious about it. Yeah. I'd be. Oh, my God. I'd be. No. And I can't do it in this country either if i did no way like you know
Starting point is 00:24:27 what i would actually very happily just get married i guess in like the chelsea like registry office or wherever the marriage bit but then have like a wonderful big party out in new york with my friends i don't care about like the exchange writing oh yeah yes oh neither me yeah yeah so my my like actual big do's gonna be abroad abroad so it's going to be a big do do you think you're going to go to like Barbados or something oh no no
Starting point is 00:24:47 I'd have it in like I don't know like Spain or South France or somewhere like that or even like Italy Tuscany but have like
Starting point is 00:24:55 a really sick party have like the next day to be like a barbecue pool party do like a five day wedding five days of it it's probably going to be
Starting point is 00:25:03 yeah I mean, it's hard. I'm getting excited. Like, can you do this tomorrow, please? I know,
Starting point is 00:25:09 and also, would you have bridesmaids? I don't know whether I'll have a bridal shower, but no. if I get married, like, just like, my parents and like,
Starting point is 00:25:17 in a registry office, then I don't think you do that, do you? No, I'd have like, if I'd have like, young, I'd have babies,
Starting point is 00:25:24 but then, I'd have a bridal shower, bridal party, so you'd be on my side. Oh yeah, that's so much fun. But I don't want bridesmaids following me down the aisle.
Starting point is 00:25:31 I don't want to do the whole walking down the aisle with people watching me. Do you not? No. I just, I don't know what I want. I haven't really thought about
Starting point is 00:25:38 like the full details. All I know is, I don't want to do the walking down the aisle, standing at the altar, saying the ideas in front of everybody. We might change our idea.
Starting point is 00:25:45 We might get older. When we get older, I know we're so young. We've got about 10 years to go. Are you joking? I'm nearly 27. I'm 37. Yeah, you haven't got very long yet. I'm 26, by the way, everybody.
Starting point is 00:25:57 Can you let me know? Well, you've got so young, so if you don't be sick. You're only two years younger than me, so acting like you're like some spanker. I know. Every time I come over, I'm like, I'm so young. I've got all these years left in the life. You kind of are. Those two years really make a difference.

By the way, anyone listening to this who's like older than me, you're still really young. I'm just being ridiculous. Yeah, we're just being silly. Oh my God, it's raining and it's windy and it's terrible.
Starting point is 00:26:58 Gosh, I need a hot water bottle. I know. Do you guys do this? I have a hot water bottle on me at all times, like no matter what. So do I. I would rather have my windows open all the breeze in, but have a hot water bottle on me at all times, like no matter what. So do I. I would rather have my windows open all the breeze in but have a hot water bottle on me. Oh my God, I'm exactly the same.
Starting point is 00:27:10 I can't bear to be without that. I love like being like, not chilly, but like I guess chilly on the outskirts and all wrapped up and warm inside. Yeah, I don't like my face being hot. I really don't. Same. I'm like.
Starting point is 00:27:20 Or my hands. Yeah, or like that air being hot, like breathing in hot air. I'm like oh horrible I know I know but I love it and also especially now because Jamie's away
Starting point is 00:27:29 my hot water bottle literally is my best friend oh my god yeah it's like a cuddle even when nobody's about I'm like get away
Starting point is 00:27:36 I'd rather have Poppy all nestled up to me in my hot water bottle Poppy's her dog so empty once Sophie FaceTimed me and I was wrapped up in this really thick, like, it's like this stunning Zara blanket, it's really thick faux fur. And I was all wrapped up in it, I had her water bottle underneath and then Poppy was sat on top of my lap, all curled up. And I was just so happy and I was like, this is the best position I could be in all day i really want a dog does anyone have a dog if anyone's got a dog they want me to babysit honestly like i'm at your disposal especially on a sunday does it not make so you've babysat quite a few pooches yeah i have makes you realize like oh
Starting point is 00:28:18 this is a big old yeah yeah it does but more so when jamie's here like it was stressful with him here because he's like oh my god what, Sophie, what's the dog doing? I'm like, it is moving like a normal dog. He's like, literally, like, God forbid what he'll be like with the baby. He'll be like, Sophie, I think the dog's going to pee. I'm like, no, no, it's literally, like, about to go get its ball. Like, it's so fine. So that's what stressed me out.
Starting point is 00:28:39 He was okay. Poppy came over here once. He was fine with her. But she's so old. She went over and said hello to him. He was playing a game. And she went over and she remember she like put her hands on his lap and tried to like give him a kiss. And he hurt her paws.
Starting point is 00:28:51 She's a person, guys. And Jamie just looked over at us to be like, what do I do now? I'm like, give her a stroke, for God's sake. He's like, doesn't know how to fess him. Like, I was like, do you want to hold this? We had a little babysat this like actual dream, dream puppy. The Dachshund. He like didn't. He was like, do you want to hold this? We had a little babysat, this, like, actual dream, dream puppy. The Deshan. He, like, didn't.
Starting point is 00:29:07 He was like, what, should I hug it? I was like, yeah, you can hold it for, like, more than a second. He, like, holds it. I know. I really want one. Right, we need to read my dilemma. Okay, right, next dilemma. Well, I mean, just, okay.
Starting point is 00:29:21 Hey, Habs and Melissa, dilemma. So my friend started going out with this boy a few months ago and found out he had cheated on her he never confessed she found out and asked him and he confirmed what a pig i think she's still seeing him but as her friend i've made it clear i don't want to see her get hurt again as for her to not go near with him again she says she's not stupid enough to fall for him again but they met up the other day and they went for dinner i want to be happy for her if she's in a caring relationship but she's not and he's going to do it again he's so manipulative i can't stand him even though i've never met him
Starting point is 00:29:54 for i think once a cheater always a cheater always a cheater but i think she's too enough to break it off with him i want to support her and anything she does whether she would or not i can't feel happy for her she's still with this idiot what do you guys think she should do and what do you think i should do as a friend this is a really good one and we've all been there we've all been there and like either on the receiving end like being in the relationship or being the friend it's like okay ultimately if you speak your truth because I guess like as a friend that you have like almost like a sisterly like protective thing over your friend like we all have that you've kind of been this similar with me like when Jamie's fucked up before and you really
Starting point is 00:30:37 didn't like and it was like hard because there had to be a line where I had to just be like I can tell where this is going I can tell you were forgiving him and like you wanted to be with him you were so in love with him I was like I just have to suppress those protective feelings now and just be supportive otherwise we were going to fall out like you have to just I think at some point you just accept it and be happy with be happy for them and just think you know it's now their decision their mistake it's hard when it's that bad like if he's cheated that's hard but all you can do if she's gonna do it she's gonna do it with or without your support and you will end up losing you will end up losing your friend so all you can do is support her and be there for her no matter what and I always think like sometimes you kind of have to tell a friend what they want to hear like I could tell there was like
Starting point is 00:31:26 certain parts of you that were really sticking up for him with this with Jamie at the time and I could just tell going on three years ago and I had to just like be I guess supportive and like on your side even in the back of my mind I was like skeptical about things like you just have to like really have faith I guess yeah in your friend and trust that they're doing it for their own happiness right then and there and you yeah be okay with it and also you have to like let people make their own mistakes um because whatever she's gonna do your you when it comes down to boys and being in love your girlfriend yeah love is, it literally is. And no matter what you say, she will do whatever she wants.
Starting point is 00:32:08 So in the end, she'll just end up resenting you no matter what. She'll be like, even, you know, you'll just lose. So exactly what Melissa said, you've got to support her either way. You know, I wouldn't be like, oh my God, I love him. But just sit, listen to her. Exactly. And just be, maybe you can go down the route of being like, you you know I'm only having these protective thoughts because I love you so much and we're such good friends however I want you to be happy and I can see that he makes you so happy so
Starting point is 00:32:32 obviously I'm going to support you like I just really hope it works out yeah and if it doesn't you know I'm so don't yeah maybe don't say that because she'll be like why are you well no like if if it doesn't work out for whatever reason he messes up or you decide you don't actually like him you know I will be with you no matter what. And I don't feel like you can't come to me. Because you don't want, like, her feeling like if something does happen, and bless her, maybe he does mess up a bit. God forbid, hope he doesn't touch wood. You want her to feel like she can come to you again.
Starting point is 00:32:58 And, like, that's, like, what a friendship is. You know, you go through these ups and downs. Yeah. like what a friendship is you know you go through these ups and downs yeah and also you have to let go of your hate towards him because yeah you know like holding a grudge against somebody is like poisoning yourself drinking poison especially if you haven't even met him before that's like quite interesting but that probably makes it worse because when he cheated she probably was like I hate him he's such a dick he's this he's that so you've kind of just built up this negative image of him and maybe you're not seeing any of
Starting point is 00:33:31 the positives so maybe spend a bit of time with him as well that might help yeah seeing how like happy she is and like how he actually is and maybe he's not that bad you know obviously we don't know the ins and outs of this like how long they've been together and stuff like that we don't know we don't know um i agree and i think you know there is such thing as second chances yeah totally and you know just because he's a little love swill hydrant okay so yeah i just i just hold the glass and i'm holding it totally wrong for rosa you should always hold it by the stem because you don't want to heat up the heat up is that true yes oh yeah i do do that these are such nice so i always just kind of like i know with red wine you kind of like swirl it around to like get the air to it let it breathe i do it with everything water rose mainly rose
Starting point is 00:34:14 or like white wine water yeah i know it's just it's almost like a bit of a like it's just a habit it's a tick i really enjoy it it's just quite like but what happens if you've got a stubby stubby glass then you can't probably do it god forbid have i ever had a stubby glass no i've had a stubby glass for them bloody awful but let's cut that out anything to stubby glass get that out oh my god um oh yeah it's a tough one and i get you're just probably protecting him and you know what's so hard being a best friend in sorts of you have that best friend calls you up crying and you instantly obviously really dislike the boy but it's hard you've got to separate yourself and like how many times have you i mean we don't really do it I never call you
Starting point is 00:35:05 up and I never call my around Jamie's on this but I did back in the day when we were getting together but like he doesn't make any dramatic stuff like no no neither like oh Jamie didn't take out the bin yeah it's always petty like household you'd be like crozzos so it's it's nothing like that but like there is obviously those friends that do have those mega dramatic relationships it's very up and down up and down up and down and all you can do is like support your friend and like I guess kind of just you just have to sense what vibe they're going for if at the time they're like I hate him he's a dick you know you go with that but like you also have to say like you know ultimately
Starting point is 00:35:44 whatever you decide to do, I'm going to be here for you and I'll support your decision. Because that's what good friends do at the end of the day. Like, you can't... Yeah, you've just got to... ...fall out with her or get pissed off with her because she's going on dates with him. And you don't want her to then start lying to you.
Starting point is 00:35:58 Yeah. And then you find... Because that, you know, then turns the whole... And that always has to happen. ...your whole friendship this hour, yeah. And then it never quite goes back. No, no i know there's always that distrust there yeah or just like an unanswered air or what's worse if you say really horrible things about him now in the heat of the moment and then they end up becoming really happy and getting married it'll always be a bit awkward because
Starting point is 00:36:19 she'll be like you hate my boyfriend so don't let her know we're going really round in circles but basically our advice is suck it up support we understand that you're looking out for her but unfortunately i don't think it ever works if you're if you have trying to get involved i'm not gonna be friends with you if you get back with him like you know it's not your decision you just have to support whatever she decides to do it's her decision and love is blind and let people make their own mistakes and just be there to pick up the pieces yeah that's what being a friend is exactly oh on that note what do we do now we read our little boyfriend complaint who is it from this week? It is from Harry. Harry sent me one. Oh, did he? Yes.
Starting point is 00:37:08 A little darling. Okay, I'm going to put it up. So, Melissa is such a strange person when it comes to her own temperature. So, she's always cold during the day. So, it could be like the middle of summer and it will be 30 degrees outside. And she will honestly complain and it will be 30 degrees outside and she will she will be cold yet in the evening when we go to bed she will sleep with a hot water bottle and insist on having the air on freezing cold i just don't get it that is so weird we've had
Starting point is 00:37:42 two of these you know why because because at the moment it's this that time of the month for me and i have the hot water bottle like it goes up by like 20 percent how much i have a water bottle with me and i've always been that kind of person it's so funny he says that the kind of person that has i like to have a cool room when i see even though i'm nice and cozy under the covers i'm exactly the same and I think that okay so I don't like even my hand being out all wrapped in
Starting point is 00:38:08 just my cold face face being icy no but also I think when I sleep like for some reason my body temperature goes up so like
Starting point is 00:38:16 if I'm having a nap I get so nestled like on the sofa loads of layers on me and then I wake up and I'm like buying it get the covers on me and then i wake up and i'm like get the cup of coffee i'm so hot but at night i make sure that doesn't happen so i always have the aircon on i don't put
Starting point is 00:38:32 it on too very i know this is like really lucky that we have aircon so i set the temperature to around 21 21 and a half bitch really mine's 80 oh harry will not let me do anything below 21 and he always so i always go to bed a little bit earlier than him he brushes his teeth after me and whenever he comes in he changes it but i can hear it like it's really loud he goes and i'm like why are you changing the temperature because he doesn't like it but then i always we've had this this discussion with quite a lot of couples right and every boy in the couple agrees to me and they want a nice cool room at night harry's like no just like a nice warm temperature i'm like no mostly jamie would have all the windows open yes i see i think harry's the weird
Starting point is 00:39:16 one here i don't think it's me but then he's like why do you have hot water on the covers if you're hot because i'm like you don't get it it's the whole vibe of like the cool air around me yeah yeah and the warmth yeah yeah yeah i i can't disagree with you so i've got to say but i feel bad i really need to just get a hot water bottle himself warm myself up like like my sister likes the room like boiling hot she likes her face to be like no that is my worst like yeah yeah oh my god what does ruby our friend honestly i've never been into a hotter room when she was staying in her heart no but like i'm talking like i would be like oh that was like it was walking into a sauna i'd be like okay maybe should i open a window for you she's like no i was like really i'd be like do you want me to open the door for you? She'd be like, no, like it.
Starting point is 00:40:05 I'd be like, no, no, it's so hot in here. I'm having a panic attack. So people are just different. See, we are very, we contradict that so much because during the day, even in Croatia and Sri Lanka, me and you, every day like, bit of a reason, bit cold. How are you going to get me a blanket? Like, honestly, obviously like in the day
Starting point is 00:40:25 I'm like cold guys when I'm in space when I went to learn with Jamie I remember Emily actually like messaged Jamie like why is Sophie
Starting point is 00:40:32 in a full on hoodie I'm just like in Mexico like I'm always cold it's bad circulation apparently oh my gosh yeah so my fingers
Starting point is 00:40:40 I mean you've seen Reynolds I have that yeah it is rains yeah I have it it's just a circulation so my fingers will like go like I've seen. Reynolds. I have that, yeah, it is, Reigns, Reynolds. Yeah, I have it too. It's just a circulation thing.
Starting point is 00:40:45 So my fingers will, like, go like a, I guess like a dead person, like you have nothing in there, no blood. Yeah, my mum's got it really badly, like purple hands. Oh, God, yeah, so. I like to be warm at all times during the day, so I'm fine with, like, a warm room, but at night it has to be, like, chilly with, like, a nice warm hot water bottle
Starting point is 00:41:01 and nice, you know, warm cuddles under the covers. Yeah, yeah, yeah, just no air. Just keep it no air it's like when the boy goes to cuddle you but they like their shoulders higher than yours you know what i mean and there's a gap oh my god i need to just tuck in oh yeah i'm like bend over so i like move away from him and tuck it under my shoulder so i'm like fully caterpillared in that like but then i wake up in the middle of the night and i have to do that whole thing you know you just like get one leg out yeah yeah yeah pull yourself down
Starting point is 00:41:27 a little bit yeah that's because she was on 21 mine's on 18 it's perfect sometimes I have it on six no that's because
Starting point is 00:41:33 I went on a run that's not working in here because it's not 16 degrees in this room obviously I've been on for about a second and I was like oh freezing
Starting point is 00:41:38 and you've turned it off and that's on auto yeah yeah yeah no I never ever have it on air on in here but it was a real I went on a run and I came back and I was like,
Starting point is 00:41:46 I'm honestly about to pass out. It was so hot in here. Do you have the Dyson air purifier? It's brilliant. It gets rid of all the fumes, all the pollution. I love a bit of Dyson air purifying. Dob, is that the fan? Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:57 Dyson air purifier. That thing, that thing. Yeah, but there's two. So there's just a fan. Oh, I think I've just got the fan. And there's an air purifier. I've got the air purifier. You need it.
Starting point is 00:42:11 And also, the aircon that I have in my like flat it's actually like a cleaning air thing so you have these filters that you put in every three months guys because i think it's because i live next to a building site the pollution and like the black it must be you pull these filters out they are black and you put them in white. I've never seen anything like it. It's awful. And I'm like, thank God, because otherwise you'd be breathing the ends. I guess not that could be, but because I live right on a building site, like, it's obviously different here, but.
Starting point is 00:42:36 A building site? It sounds like you live, like, in some weird building site. But, like, it is. I mean, it's going to be finished now, but. Is it in any way? I think so. Bloody hope so. Driving there was a nightmare. Um, well, look, Harry Barron.
Starting point is 00:42:50 I'm going to have to disagree with you. Well, I kind of feel him, because, like, imagine if he was so nippy at night. No, we come to a compromise. It's okay, but, like, he's just like, can we not have the aircon on? Because you've got the whole water bottle. I reckon your aircon's quite strong.
Starting point is 00:43:02 Mine's so weak. No, mine's quite strong. It's very efficient mine's like that big like oh god no it's like
Starting point is 00:43:10 it goes you know like these things it goes like around like two oh hippie already I like I like the fan blowing in my face
Starting point is 00:43:19 like I like the wind and then I tie my hair up because I can't have that if my hair's fan it tickles my face because it blows my hair. Oh, my God. I can't have a fan on the night because Harry's like, no noise, no noise.
Starting point is 00:43:30 He's the lightest sleeper in the entire world. So, you know, the sky, so we have a TV in our room. You know, the sky box, it, like, sits in the front. He has to put a little T-shirt over the top. So, this tiny little red light and the green light or whatever. Oh, no, I know. It just, he keeps me awake. I'm like, if you shut your eyes there is no way
Starting point is 00:43:46 you can see that I'm with him no you know my mirror I've got a mirror like a selfie light mirror because I'm just so vain
Starting point is 00:43:53 anyway that bloody light like honestly sometimes and it's connected to like bluetooth which I've still never worked out how to use
Starting point is 00:44:03 I don't in the middle of that and there's a little blue light and it pierces through my skull oh my god so i'm with him on that yeah so we can't have a fan because the fan is too loud so the aircon is the only answer and you know what i think it's quite a fresh room no mine's like silent you can't hear hear it. Mine's like... Oof, God. Yeah, I know. You both think... Yeah, I can't.
Starting point is 00:44:29 Guys, obviously, you know, we're very lucky to have aircon on because I know that some people, when it gets super hot, they're like, oh my God, it's so hot. I remember my last flat when I lived in Fulham, there wasn't. I just had to keep the window open
Starting point is 00:44:39 all the time with the fan. Well, no, if you put a fan on and the window open, it doesn't work. It defeats the whole chat. Same with... What? Jane, you'll have the aircon on and open window open it doesn't work it defeats the object same with that jane you'll have the aircon on and open the window i'm like are you okay yeah but a fan doesn't cool down the air all it does is like oh yeah you're right sorry that's true um well i kind of agree with you manissa because i do the same so sorry on this occasion harry baron i'm gonna have to side with your girlfriend what What do you guys think?
Starting point is 00:45:05 Fan? No fan? Warm room, hot room, cold room? What is your vibe at night? Even, like, we don't even need to have air con on this one. You could just open the window and it'd be nice and cool. Harry would not let me do that. No, no. What about in summer, though?
Starting point is 00:45:18 Oh, summer, we have, we need, like, it gets, like, unbearably hot, and the front of our, it's like this, there's so many glass windows. It's just, like, a flipping greenhouse. Yeah, unbearably hot. And the front of our... It's like this. There's so many glass windows. It's just, like, a flipping greenhouse. Yeah, yours is really hot. I remember being there and someone being like, phew, it's because I don't like having the air con during the day.
Starting point is 00:45:32 I'm like, we only need it when it's necessary, when it's at night, when you just can't sleep. You don't need it on during the day. So it does get quite hot. But then you open the windows and I'm fine being warm in the day. Yeah, so am I. I'm okay with that. It's just, like, when you have to sleep and you can't you're uncomfortable i'm exactly the same
Starting point is 00:45:49 um okay right we have to um round it off there i feel like we've been rambling for a while now no we've got to rate our wine oh my god it's been going down a treat it's really gone down a treat i would rate this as an eight i thought i would do the same but i really do like that one and there is i guess like more to it as you say like it's not as like dry but it's the perfect amount of like so it's dry like just a very plain one no dry dry is just not sweet no to be fair this is quite dry i guess but it's not it's more like there's more quite dry I guess but it's got more like there's more like depth flavours going on depth
Starting point is 00:46:26 it's got more I was going to say it's got more body to it but I do think it does does it is that the correct term I think that's more of a red wine
Starting point is 00:46:33 yeah that is more of a red wine it's very lovely and I like the fact that it's vegan and all that it's quite good for everybody
Starting point is 00:46:39 would you okay so what are you rating it come on okay let's go let's go for an eight. I'm an eight and a half. I feel like I've been giving everything bloomy.
Starting point is 00:46:48 I know, we're going to have to, like, be more critical. I also think at some point we should try a couple next to each other so we can talk about the different, like, tastes. Because I think that would be good. Great idea. This is really, really young. This is really nice and it's a very, very... I think maybe also we should be putting photos up of the wine
Starting point is 00:47:04 so people can know. Oh, good good idea and then people can find it and we'll also i guess do the price of it because i don't know what this one was i can't actually remember i'll have to look at look it up and um yeah why don't we do that so we can post it for you guys so you guys can see because i know quite a few people also so many people have recommended wines which is just delightful some really like well-priced wines it's as well like in budget for us okay good we need to have a look and also i feel like marabou does like loads of different like budgets of bros yeah yeah it does so many times it does and loads of different bottle shapes so it's very nice but um guys we've come to the end of our episode five we've had so much fun we hope you guys have had fun too and we're so glad you're
