This means doing more than you've ever done, pushing past what you think are your limits. Don't listen to people who doubt you or make fun of you. Instead, keep working quietly and let your success show them they were wrong. Being the best requires a lot of effort because most people give up easily. But if you keep pushing when things get tough, you'll move far ahead of others. The key to winning is to keep going, ignore those who doubt you, and prove them wrong with your achievements. Remember, only your opinion about what you can do matters. If people say you can't do it, just show them you can. Spoken by Jocko Willink, Eric Thomas, Les Brown, Ed Mylett. Starting point is 00:00:01 You want to reach greatness? You want to make every single one of your dreams a reality. You want to live like a winner? Well, you've got to be willing to grind every fucking day. You've got to be willing to put in more energy and more effort than you ever have. That's going to take you reaching the level of what you would normally call your limit and going past it. Because every limit you have is one that you've set yourself in your own mind. you've accepted it as your standard at one point or another.
Starting point is 00:00:34 So now is the time to decide that you are going to go higher, you are going to work harder, you are going to go further, you are going to raise your game. When you start forcing yourself to go harder, getting up earlier, going to bed later, not letting yourself off the hook when it's the weekend, when everyone else is having a good time, people are going to think you're crazy.
Starting point is 00:01:02 They're going to make fun of you. They're going to call you a psycho. They're going to talk shit about you and spread rumors about you and try to tear you down. So what do you do about those people? It's simple. You don't fight back. You don't waste your energy defending yourself. You don't have to say a single word.
Starting point is 00:01:22 All you do is grind in silence and let your success make the noise. Your execution, your actions, your completed. tasks will speak for themselves. They will be the things that talk the loudest about who and what you are. And when you do this, you become a champion. Champions are built from
Starting point is 00:01:44 execution. They aren't made sitting around gossiping about other people's lives and whatever the hell they're doing. No, they're made by getting shit done. So you don't waste time worrying about what everyone else is doing or what anyone else thinks of you. You just do whatever the fuck it takes to get whatever the hell you want.
Starting point is 00:02:02 It's easy to beat most people and get ahead. Why? Because the world's lazy. That's where you gain the advantage. Everyone will talk about it. They'll post about it. They'll make plans about it. But nobody wants to roll up their sleeves and just go get it.
Starting point is 00:02:19 Most people quit at the slightest struggle. Most avoid the hard yards. They won't spend extra time studying. They won't push past their comfort. Because yes, it's tough. It's grim. It's solitary. And that's my edge.
Starting point is 00:02:32 That's where I separate. I'm going to upgrade myself in the crowd. When you're grinding away in the dark hours, when everyone else is sleeping, taking time off, chilling out, and you're working your ass off. You get miles ahead of everyone. You're going to get to the point where you are so much further ahead of all those people that they don't even understand how you can get that much stuff done.
Starting point is 00:02:50 And the secret to your success is going to be blood, sweat, and tears. Because nobody ever gets anywhere great with an easy ride. You've got to be willing to work like hell in order to get there. The best in the world at anything did not get there by mistake. They keep working and keep working and keep working and never take their foot off the gas. They never stop. They never quit. And they never allow anyone else's opinions or criticisms of what they're doing with their life.
Starting point is 00:03:22 They shut all of that shit out and focus on getting the work done. And when you see those people judging you and ridiculing you, you want to know the best way to shut them down. You kill them with massive success. You prove them wrong with results Because nothing succeeds like success Who cares what they say? Just execute Who cares what they think? Just execute Execution is worshipped
Starting point is 00:03:46 And when you get it done You'll show the world what you're really made of When you start acting in your best interest And going above and beyond everyone else You're going to lose some friends Not everybody is going to approve of you There's some people that won't like you Who do you think you are?
Starting point is 00:04:05 You think you're better than all of us. You're arrogant. What do you think you can do? You're selfish. When you hang around average people, all you're going to hear is average thoughts and opinions. They don't speak a winner's language. All they're going to tell you is what they think is possible.
Starting point is 00:04:24 Based on their own limitations, they've set in their mind. Don't let that shit affect you in your mindset. That's their limits, not yours. It has nothing to do. do with you. You can do whatever you believe you can do. The only person's permission you need to get it done is your own. You know what crazy means? Crazy means that you have the ability to see things that other people can't. That's what crazy meets. And if you're not fucking crazy, you're never going to succeed at anything in life. Everybody has got to be a little bit off.
Starting point is 00:04:56 Anybody that's done something great, they don't think like anybody else. They can't. And the People that tell you, you can't do it. You know what your response to them is? Watch me. I accepted a long time ago. I wasn't the smartest, the best looking, the fast enough, with the best background, the most connections. I didn't have any of those things. What I could control was my work ethic.
Starting point is 00:05:24 I think for the most part, gifted people struggle in life because things come easy to them. I like that things haven't come easy for me in my life. And maybe you like that about you too. Maybe you've looked at yourself all your life and thought, Man, I don't have that natural beauty or that natural talent or intellect or humor. I don't have any of those things. But what I got is I will outwork you. When you get to winning, for me, it's come down to maxing out.
Starting point is 00:05:49 And what maxing out means is you do one more at least than you think you're capable of. So when you're done, whatever you're doing, whether it's at the gym or phone calls or meetings, or in sports, one more shot, one more throw, one more swing of the golf club or the baseball bat. the separator is for the winners, they do one more. And I'm the kind of guy that I know when you do 45 minutes on the treadmill and I do 46, I deserve to be fitter. I know that when I'm lifting weights and I watch you do five cents to ten and every single time I do one more. When it's supposed to be an eight-hour workday, I work nine.
Starting point is 00:06:23 Whatever it is, I always do one more. And what that does is it makes me eventually think I'm doing things other people aren't willing to do, so I should get things other people aren't going to get. That's the separator. If you're someone who's always doing things other people aren't willing to do, you always max out, you always go to the next level. You convince yourself you deserve to win. You can take low self-esteem, low identity, low confidence, and change it over time by building this habitual addiction to doing one more. This obsession of one more.
Starting point is 00:06:53 All the greats do one more and all the average don't. Other people are going to get slowed down. Other people are going to take a break. Other people are going to flinch. Other people are going to cool it. Other people are going to believe they've made it. or maybe some people are going to believe they can't make it, but you're going to be relentless. You're going to be repetitious.
Starting point is 00:07:09 You may not be the fastest. You may not be the smartest. You may not be the strongest. You may not be the most beautiful. You may not have the most articulate thoughts and ideas in the world. But what you got is one more. And when they get weak, you just keep company. When they flinch, you blow their doors off.
Starting point is 00:07:25 That's how you win in life, because you keep getting after it and keep getting it after it until the job gets done. So a lot of people are going to be excited for a day. They can be excited for a month, but the winners, they stay excited as long as it takes to get the job done. You're going to knock down whatever that rock is. It's been between you and your dream. You're going to be relentless. You're not going to give in. And you know long term, all these other people, they're going to flinch, they're going to get weak, and you won't.
Starting point is 00:07:50 You can't control all the exterior things in your life, people's attitudes, how they treat you. But you can control this. You can always make the next phone call. Always do one more meeting. Always do one more. Always, always, always. and I promise you you will knock down that rock that's in between you and your dream and make them come true
