I'm tired of people calling me saying, I put in six months.
I don't see it.
I put it in a year.
I ain't see it.
Are you kidding me?
You're about to stop the process because you can't see the prize?
You're about to quit.
You're about to give up.
You're about to give in because you've been doing it for four months.
And coach ain't telling you what you want to hear.
You've been doing it for a year and you think the job is supposed to promote you.
Are you kidding me?
You're putting in work.
And just because you can't see the results, you want to quit or give up.
I ain't never quit.
I ain't never give up.
I ain't never give it.
I just kept grinding.
You're putting in the work.
And the only reason you piss,
the only reason you quitting,
is not because you want to quit,
because you keep looking up
and you're saying,
we three in, who cares what you are?
If you keep going to break through.
The only people that don't break through
is the people who scoreboard watching.
Start and you feel,
that's Kobe, that's Jordan,
and that's what made them them.
They weren't scoreboard watching.
They was legacy watching.
They got my name on it.
They got film of me.
Jordan said, if you got film on me,
it's going to be the best.
Kobe said if you got film on me, I'm always going to show up my best.
I don't care what the score is.
From this day four, I need you to show up your best.
Why do I do it?
Because I want to position myself for greatness.
I don't know everything.
I have not accomplished everything.
I'm not where I want to be.
I'm still learning.
I'm still growing.
I'm still trying to get better.
That's my drive.
That's my engine.
You've got to position yourself and stop pouting.
Stop crying.
Stop looking at what other people are getting and look at what they're doing.
And if you start doing it, you'll start getting it.
You don't get it.
out of life what you want, you get out of life what you earn.
It isn't a process that you get better.
It's in a process that don't nobody know your name and five years later you're one of the best in the world.
Why?
The process, I don't get up at 3 o'clock in the morning because I'm broke.
Then why do you get up at 3 o'clock in the morning?
Because I ain't finished yet.
You gotta be persistent.
I mean get up at 3 o'clock in the morning even when you don't see results.
Because you ain't looking for results.
You made a commitment to get up at 3 so you get up at 3.
You do as many reps as you said you were going to do.
You do as much research and then you're going to do.
much research and then you keep doing research.
If I'm putting up 100 shots and it's not working, what do I do?
You put up 100 more and it about taking 100 shots.
It's about making 100 shots.
Be persistent.
And so you gotta get to a point where you locked in,
you are locked into the process.
Every day you do it on Monday,
you come back and do it Tuesday,
you come back and do it Wednesday,
you'll come back and do it Thursday,
you'll come back and do it Friday,
and if you don't see nothing,
if you don't see no results,
you don't give up and you don't give in,
because you're not doing it,
You're not doing it for the gold.
You're not doing it for the prize.
You're not doing it for the accomplishment.
You're doing it because you are in love with the process.
You are persistent.
And so he's going to keep going.
He is going keep going.
He's going to keep going.
He's just going to keep going.
You just got to show up.
If you are willing to for 24, 7.
If you show up every single day, you can have it.
You can do it.
You can be it.
Every day in my life, I got a bucket.
And what that bucket stands for for me,
that bucket means I have to give everything I got
to everything I'm involved in and it has nothing to do with the product but more about
my personal standard of excellence never changes and it doesn't depends on the
circumstances it doesn't depend on a situation and it never depends on a person
I take a personal level of pride and everything that I do so every day you got to
empty the bucket you got to go all in it's you against you I'm talking about that
person within you that has stopped you for making your dream that person who's
lazy that person who refuses to get up the person that's waiting for the last
minute to do everything, the procrastinator. I'm talking about the person and you that's robbed you
from being who you want to be. I'm talking about the person in you that has decided that you're not
going to show up every day. The person and you that refuse to give me your best every single day.
You will not blow up. The vision won't become a reality for you because you don't show up every day.
You show up when you feel like it. You're acting like class as an option. You're acting like doing
well as an option. Okay, I don't know if I'm gonna do all my work. Do you act like that's an option?
That's not an option? Show up. Show up. Every time I get a microphone, I don't care if you're paying me or it's free.
I'm showing up. Why? Because every time I show up, it's a reflection of who I am. Make your hustle
louder than your mouth. Stay off social media. Folks, always showing off. Stop showing off.
They don't need to see what you're doing on social media. Let them see what you do on the field.
Let them look up your stats. Let them look up your numbers. They ain't going to see you on.
social media to know you here, show up every single pride.
Show up every single game.
They're going to know who you are.
There's some of you and you are not where you want to be.
You have not gotten to the next level in your life because you hate the process.
And your problem is you just want to check.
You're not a true hunter.
You don't get excited about the process.
But a true hunter, they live for it.
They get excited about the challenge.
They get excited about the strength.
struggle. Are you wired? When you have a trial or a tribulation, how are you wired? When you hear the
word, no, does it break you? I'm wired differently. I get excited. I'll know. I love no.
No, Eric. I'll be back. I'll be stronger when I come back. A true hunter is wired differently.
For real, there's some of you there are opportunities that you're like, it's too difficult. It's
too hard. Nobody can do it. You're not wired properly. A lion welcomes the challenge. And if you are
True lying. It does not make a difference what the circumstances is. You hunt until you get a gazelle
and you don't stop until you get one. And then you get another and then you get another and you get another.
A true hunter's goal is not the prize. A true hunter's goal is to hunt. That's what they live for.
They live to hunt. They don't just live to catch it. It's the whole process. I love the process.
I love the thought of working for what I want. I'm about that life. I get up every morning
3 o'clock. When I want to get up, when I don't. When I feel like it and I don't feel like
why? Because I'm process driven. I'm not feelings driven. Champions are not feeling driven.
And when you embrace the grind, the grind will reward you. There is a championship corner of this.
And you can't change that. And if we're going to be champions, process driven. So every opportunity
I get, I murder it. It's not about winning. It's the battle itself. It's the struggle. It's the
daily test, that's what life's about. To me, this is an everyday gig. Every day is a beginning,
a new shot at life, an opportunity to come out of the gate like a man possessed and attack the
day without mercy. Today, I'm taking scouts. I'm putting the pressure on. I am the aggressor.
I am on the attack. I want to struggle. I want to grind and claw and scratch and I want to dig in
I want to push, and I don't want it to end.
Not only do I climb that doggone mountain,
I enjoy climbing the mountain.
I get a kick out the mountain.
I get a kick out of going up against the number one team.
I get a kick out of fatigue.
I get a kick out of the grind.
I get a kick out of it.
I just like the reps.
I just like to see if I still got it.
You will blow up once you fall in love with the process.
Because once you can fall in love with the process,
there's nothing you can't do.
Because everything you have to do,
There's a process to it.
You have to take residence with it.
You can't be playing with it.
You can't, one minute you're doing it the next minute you're not.
One month you're doing it the next minute you're not.
I'm talking about residents.
You've got to surrender to that thing.
I want to be possessed by it.
I got to put my whole stuff up here.
I want to see the big picture.
I want to understand it.
I want to possess it.
So I just can't go to class for an hour and get that.
You can't get fully developed if you plan with it.
If you're given 50%, if you're giving 90%,
If you give it 99.9%.
At some point, you got to put your all into it.
The greatest basketball players, they keep a set of shorts with them.
They keep gym shoes with them.
They keep a basketball with them.
Why?
Because even when they're not playing, they're still playing.
They can't wait to the next opportunity to shoot that hoop.
You working, working, working.
You're putting for effort, and you're not seeing no change.
And you're like, what's wrong?
There's a second part to effort.
That's more mental.
That's concentration.
That's focus.
presence is important, action is important, yes, grinding is important, yes, work is important,
yes, but work with no concentration. Work with no focus means what? You're doing three things
poorly, and what I'm trying to teach you is don't do three things poorly. It's better to do
one thing great, one thing great. So how do I focus? How do I concentrate? When you recognize that
the thing that you're doing is a matter of life and death, it's not just a class, it's the rest of your
It's not just working out. It's an extra year on your life. It's not just eating right. It's another
seven years on your life. It's a matter of life and death. And so your life is in your hands.
Your dream is in your hand. Your future is in your hands. I need you to wake up and cry
like it's your only moment. I need you to practice like it's your only moment. I need you to study
like it's your only moment. I need you to play like you ain't got nothing else. From this day forward,
You start strong, you finish strong, or don't come at all.
