What's up, everybody. Welcome back. Happy Skues Day to you. It's, uh, what is it? September 29th,
2026. We're recording this on Monday, September 28th at about 2 o'clock in the afternoon on the West Coast.
Took me a minute, Mark, because we've, like we've been recording on Tuesdays recently, and now we're back on a Monday, so I had to think about it.
But I'm trying, that's Mark. What's going on?
Just orient yourself by how far removed we are from humiliating lost by Dallas Cowboys.
Yeah.
before we get the show today we're talking about some uh senate fuckery in alabama and alaska
i want to do uh talk about like so over the weekend um trump had president she over
uh had a little sleep over probably play video games they up too late making crank calls whatever
they get up to you know uh usually these kind of like state visits are about something right
they didn't do anything they didn't even talk about AI or whatever not that anybody knows about all the all the AI overlords were there but uh uh bet the state dinner anyway uh but like Trump did try to offer to sell China billions of dollars in weapons
you see that no but I mean you know yeah that's what we're doing open for business on that front yeah so he's withholding like illegally withholding weapons that Congress funded for Taiwan while offering to armed China
China is offering targeting information to Iran to kill our troops in the Middle East.
Right.
So I guess it won't be the first time an American-made bomb is killed American troops.
But like we're definitely cutting out the middleman by a few steps here.
I honestly think before the end of Trump's term, he'll just have a troop beaten to death
in the law of the White House for his own amusement.
And they're going to be like, oh, I guess it's a mess with a scary way.
How much more could he openly like disrespect them and fuck him over than he already does and has?
you know, it still seems not to matter too much to certain people.
Yeah.
So I wanted to like, so on the subject to AI, like, so we got a question recently, just
thinking about what the future might look like in the near term.
Like we had a question on one of our skew and A's recently about whether or not we'd be
favor of legalizing drugs.
And you were very much so.
And I hedged, which wasn't very rock and roll in me.
And I was wondering why.
And then I've been thinking about it.
And like I would have been, I was like, if you asked me,
10 years ago, it wouldn't really for legalizing sports betting and weed, right?
Right.
But then you notice how it goes in our country.
I did not think legalizing sports betting would mean like teenagers putting bets on credit cards and LeBron James doing polymarket partnerships.
Right. Okay. What about weight?
Well, I didn't, I didn't anticipate, I guess if I thought about it, like it becoming in the form of being nuclear powered and coming in the form of children's candy.
Yeah. Yeah.
I'm not a fan of any of that.
So, so I guess my, like, like, I was at the dispensary,
I'm not, like, I, I enjoy cannabis, by the way.
I'm not judging.
I'm just, like, I was at the dispensual the day, and the lady,
they were out of, like, the kind of sleepy time drinks my wife likes.
They're like five milligrams.
And the lady tried to sell me on a 12-pound drink that 100 milligrams of T-8C in it.
Buddy, I don't, I'd have to go straight to the emergency room.
Yeah.
Or just, you know, the abyss is where I would go.
But, yeah, I, maybe it's, like, decriminalized would be.
be enough. You know what I mean? Like, it's technically illegal, but you can't, you're not really going
get in too much trouble for any of it. Maybe that's like a middle ground, you know. Yeah, I don't,
I don't want to do heroin, right? Because I think, I suspect I'd like it a lot. Yeah, that's what
they say. I hear good things. Yeah, every, every, every, every rock and roll artist who
tries it, does a whole album about it and almost dies. Yeah. I think it's pretty telling. So like,
but like, like, like, I think what I'd like to be like, when I say, we're talking about,
legalizing drugs, I mean, like, I think instead of going to jail, a heroin addict should be sent to
treatment. Right. Right. But we don't have treatment for poor people in this country, so that,
like, what I'm hoping for does not exist. Right. Which brings us to AI, right? Because like,
none of the realities they're promising us comport with the reality of our government and our economy at all.
Right. It's like we were talking about this, was this on the last episode or was on a bonus we did or
what? But it's the idea, like, it came up at the very end because they say it's, it's,
a utopia where people don't have to work anymore. They can just do what they want, pursue their
passions and robots take care of all the bullshit. And it's like that all sounds great, but
that has to be like put into place. Like there's no, what about the history of the government
of this country makes you think that they're going to just all of a sudden start, you know,
spreading the wealth like that to people. You end up like tomorrow AI, the superintelligence
shows up tonight and tomorrow they're if we're not all turned into bugs.
We're all still alive, but there's no jobs for anybody anymore.
How are they going to handle that?
Like, it's just going to go straight to Star Trek, you know?
Like, yeah, you're of no use of the ruling oligarchs of this country.
So therefore, they're going to mail free money to your house.
Right.
Yeah, exactly.
Are you fucking moron?
It's crazy.
We had like, oh, and back during COVID, we expanded unemployment a small amount for a little while.
And it made working people so uppity.
Everybody started unionizing because they had more resources.
And they, all the rich people's country united to screw everyone.
fucking over and try to take it back to 1906, right?
So like, so when it comes to AI, like, like, so somebody day it's like, oh, well,
because the AI is going to do all your paperwork for you.
It's going to eliminate all the paperwork you have to do all the time.
I'm like, bro, the paperwork is where the money is.
Like, iTunes doesn't give you a 40-page terms of service agreement because they like
fucking typing gibberish.
That's how they're fucking you.
Right.
So like, the idea that they're going to fuck you less when AI makes them able to fuck you
unlimited amounts of times seems like ridiculous to me.
Right?
So like like like like like for example, let's look at the stuff like all the, all the the the the
future they promise us whether it's the utopia or the, um, dystopia or purely imaginer
and hypothetical, but the reality of what they're doing with it right now, you can look at what
they're doing with it right now, right?
And it's like all surveillance stuff.
Like we talk about the cop stuff a lot like flock cameras or whatever.
But like it's also surveillance like for the private sector.
what I'm talking about is like surveillance pricing, algorithmic pricing, right?
Like right now landlords are using software to band together and organize artificial rent hikes, right?
We've talked about that before.
Biden administration tried to crack down a rated, rated the business that was doing it,
and Trump took office to immediately drop the investigation.
The Uber spikes the price of rides when your phone's about to die.
The landlord thing is illegal.
The second one is just fucking evil.
So every time I hear about a thing like that, it's like at least for now,
I guess pretty soon this won't be true either.
There'll be another like element of accountability removed from it.
But there's some faceless person who like came up with that and you know,
and pitched it in a meeting with other people.
And they were all like, oh, that's great.
And then that person got like a bonus or something for it.
Maybe.
Or they might have just told good job.
Now we won't fire you for a little longer.
Now go back to fucking yourself.
That person might not be hitting either is what I'm saying.
But it's like I just can't imagine pitching that an idea like that.
with a straight face and not realizing how much of a dick move it is, you know, or not caring.
And the whole thing is built on this.
Imagine how much Uber is going to charge when the AI has access to your text messages and knows that you just let someone know you broke your leg.
Right.
Right.
That's going to be a thousand dollar Uber out of the hospital.
So like when I think there's a new book out called Gow, just by a writer named Lindsay Owens.
And she basically, like one of the examples in her book, a lot of it's about Walmart and they're, they're, they are, Walmart already has like the electronic
shelves, right, with the prices that change automatically.
And she's talking about, she's talking about the carts, right?
The carts automatically check you out when you put your stuff in there, which sounds
like convenient, right?
But it knows exactly who's like, what's in, like the totality what's in your cart.
So an example she uses in the book is like if you put a can of tuna fish in your
basket, it knows you'll be willing to pay more for the mayonnaise you put in your basket
later because you're making tuna salad, right?
So Walmart already immediately came out and denied they're ever going to do this, right?
Like, so what they're saying is basically, yeah, sure, we've developed all the capability to do this and researched how to do it and we've got the technology, but we're going to choose not to do it.
Right.
And it's also with all that shit, it's just all like, is Walmart not hitting hard enough and haven't they been hitting hard enough for decades now?
Like all this is sort of propelled by the, you know, the whole capitalist, like the desire for never ending growth.
It doesn't matter how well you've been doing.
You have to continue to do better and doing better.
Just means squeezing people more, charge a little more,
offering a little bit less incrementally over time.
But we're decades into that process now,
so everything fucking sucks already.
And that's the only innovation that there ever is anymore.
It's just how to fuck people a little bit more and hopefully in imperceptible ways.
Right.
But it's like Chinese water torture, but for butt fucking your wallet and shit.
That's good.
I like that analogy.
Chinese water torture for butt fucking your wallet.
That's exactly what AI is.
Actually, episode title, if I can read.
Chinese water torture for butt fucking your wallet.
So, but see, like, for the people that run our economy, like, it's a marketing
efficiency.
If you make $100,000 a year, but you only have to spend $75 to be alive, that's $25,000
you're not being fucked out of.
That's a mistake they're making.
Right.
So, like, they've got to figure the way to rectify that.
Like, what you call this space you need to be alive, the money you use to, like,
I don't know, go to a movie or take your best girl down to the,
soda fountain, right? That's a waste to them. Right. So, so like I really give an example
that I came across like late last week. All right. So what they're using AIs for, like we've got
we've got competing war, price wars, but different AIs right here. Blue Cross Blue Shield put out
a report last week that said between 2024 and 2025, providers more frequently billed for
secondary conditions or those stemming from separate illnesses from the one they were treating.
What they're saying is providers are using AI technology to identify secondary conditions by scanning
existing patient records are using ambient scribes which passively listen to conversations with
patients and draft medical notes.
So what the AI is doing is taking the doctor's visit you already had and you think you
experienced, but finding things you were being treated for that now that you were the doctor
recognized it.
Right.
So say if you tell the doctor you have anemia before you have surgery, the billing code is going
to change it to like where you were treated for anemia, even if you weren't, even if it didn't
any effect on your surgery, like even if you didn't need blood transfuse, it's going to charge you
for having anemia, right?
What?
Yes.
So how is that?
How do you even justify that?
They don't, the AI doesn't then make, nothing else happens or is done to you.
You're just charged for.
You're just overcharged.
So like, so the, the blue, the health insurance company's complaining about this.
Let me quote here from a doctor that works the insurance company.
The disconnect between diagnoses and treatments suggest that AI is identifying more billable
conditions, not sicker patients, right?
Mm-hmm.
But here, there we come to the point where they, uh,
So that's the insurers complaining about the doctor and the hospital's AI.
But the insurance company has their own AI.
They're using to reject everyone's claims, including the ones that are filed by the provider's
AI, right?
So let me quote here.
This is, let me, I'm quoting from a healthcare industry analyst.
Somebody who works for a health care hedge fund, not a socialist, a extremely capitalist
person who profiteers off the health care sector the same way these two industries do.
This might be the most American healthcare story I've ever read.
Hospitals bought AI to find a lot.
more things to bill for, insurers bought AI to deny those bills.
Technology costs money on each end.
The tab went straight to patients through higher premiums.
A billion dollars moved and no one got any healthier.
The only thing that changed was the size of the invoices.
Right.
This is the industry, how they're making money currently,
that's promising you a future utopia.
Like Trace said, the aim is the Chinese water torture version of butt-fucking your wallet.
There you go.
All right.
Well, let's keep going, baby Matt.
You ready with that graphic?
It's time for the Daily Dumbass, everybody.
Tonight's D-D.
Pilots who are furries for not choosing to call themselves flying squirrels.
Many, listen to this, many airline pilots, flight attendants, and air traffic controllers are parked in the furry community.
Lord help us.
You walk onto a commercial flight.
It's possible that the pilot fly in your plane could have a deranged fetus of dressing up like an animal.
You can't make this up.
Many.
Except you did.
You did, Tommy.
I was having to expect him to be like, or even be a woman.
Imagine.
Yeah, it's Tommy Tuberville.
Yeah.
Speaking of a Florida.
United States Senate and how
they, dude, I find
I'd be part of this insulting, especially the people
of Alabama. This is
what the people who choose candidates
think you're stupid enough to elect and reelect
and he's currently running for governor, so maybe they're fucking right.
But like, we deserve better than this. And do
politicians even care about real problems anymore?
Diesel fuel is so
high right now that some districts are shutting down school
buses. Right.
But what's he going to say about that? You know what I mean?
It's like, that's his party's
fault. You'd have to have like some nut
and integrity and shit to talk about that.
It's way easier to keep making up these
fucking culture war buggy man
and just running off that shit instead.
It's also a proven playbook at this point.
I guess what they're flamble.
But like if he's going to speak like in this current
like talking about the school buses thing,
he's found people that are interested in transportation
as an industry. I say if he's going to talk about
the furies, he should suggest they become ponies
and give kids rides to school.
That would be more helpful than whatever it is he's fucking do it.
Like I would like before I want to talk about the furry thing
some more.
what the Senate's up to? Here's what his colleague, Senator Jim Justice of West Virginia was up to the other day. If he got this, Matt.
To you.
All right. That's his dog being pulled in a wagon while he makes his staff saying, happy birthday to his fucking dog at his dog's birthday party.
I was really, I thought that might be what it was, and I was really hoping that it wasn't.
Well, that had to be my last day. I can tell you that might.
One in six West Virginians is or was on food stamps until the program got all cut to the bone, almost eliminated.
I'm seeing reports like with food banks say that like requests for service are up 60% lately this year.
As the cutbacks, the Doge initiated last year start to fucking kick in.
People are going to go hungry.
Anyway, back to Tommy Tuberville for a second.
They still think furries identify as animals, which is going to drive me fucking insane.
They must be so confused.
They want to see clips from Comic-Con.
I think all those people identify as Spider-Man.
Right.
I also, I guess it's just a fundamental difference that we have between these people,
but it's like I do not care.
I could be on a plane and you can tell me that the pilot likes to put on a fox outfit
and get blown or whatever.
And I would be like, well, that's too much information.
But I don't feel any different about my safety in this airplane right now.
Like what does that have to do with anything?
Do you know what I mean?
Like, if people thought that the feet thing was a little bit weirder with, like,
Tarantino's movies not here for these people, you know?
Yeah.
Like, why is it?
It's just to fucking, I'm not into it at all.
I, like, do, gun to my head.
Do I think it's a little weird?
Sure.
But I think the feet thing is weird, too.
And I just, so the fuck what?
It ain't got nothing to do with me.
I don't see how that impacts your ability to fly a plane.
So what the fuck does it matter?
Well, they're trying to equate with transgenderism.
which they think is like inherently a mental illness
besides being gendered dysphoria
and say that anybody who like, I don't know, wants to,
it's like a certain type of person.
Every society has them.
We elevate them in positions of authority.
They just can't sleep with the knowledge
that somebody out there is being a little weird.
Yeah, right.
I know.
And then it's like, well, but I guess they try to spin it.
That's why they always add the element about the kids too.
Because it's like even if it is, even if it is,
even if it is, it's, you know, like,
so is being OCD.
Like an OCD person can drive a fucking bus or working a school or whatever.
You know what I mean?
You have to limit the rights of people because they have a mental illness that's also fucked up.
But the way that they justify is by fact that, you know,
transgender people are fucking predatory or whatever.
That's a mental illness that ends up with the victimization of children or something
is the way that they present it, I think, you know.
One of the things that I was like, well, I can't be forced to.
participate in another person's delusion.
It's like, I'm forced to participate in other people's delusions all the time.
I have friends who were Detroit Lions fans.
I have been to weddings where I know the woman's going to leave immediately.
Yeah.
What the fuck do you mean?
We happily participate in so many other people's delusions.
So I was trying to figure out why Tuberville is doing this now.
And I've no idea of these things are connected.
But like, I know it's because the elections coming up.
But like, also there was a viral video that was clearly AI going around last week.
But the premise was there was this.
same thing that, you know, same idea that people, or furries identify as dogs or something.
The video featured a large woman. There's always large women in these AI videos.
That's something, the people that think AI is funny, I think it's also something inherently
funny about a woman being large, right? Okay. And, and she has a tail taped to the back of her shirt,
and she's barking to be lit into a store in her hands and knees. And then she gets mauled by a
rotweiler, a real dog, which is the punchline of the video, which is like, oh, you thought,
thought you wanted to be a dog.
And I saw this video because it got,
it got posted by a comedian that I won't name who neither of us respect.
And not because he's conservative,
but because he's stupid and unfunny.
Yeah.
And so, like,
I was thinking,
is that why?
Is that why two rules thinking about furries last week?
But so everyone was making fun of him, right?
I think even Jimmy Kimmel hopped in on it.
I saw,
because I saw him complain about being roasted by Jimmy Kimmel.
But he posted this on Twitter.
Just a few,
just a few weeks ago at the furry migration convention in many
There was an aviation furrows meetup.
Ask yourself, would you be comfortable with a mentally ill furry being your pilot?
Now, he posted a link to the schedule of this furry convention, which why do you have that, Tommy?
Why do you have, I don't know where the furors are meeting.
Why do you know?
You seem to be really, like, you're learning a lot about furries for people that don't like their whole thing.
But the schedule had been taken down because this is very important.
The convention happened three weeks ago, so there's no need to have a schedule up for it.
So Tommy Tuberville have been investigating this furry convention over and over again for weeks.
Right.
Maybe on his laptop, late at night alone.
I don't know.
So I'll take his word for it that the event really had an aviation furry meetup.
But I don't care.
It doesn't matter.
And just for reference, Donald Trump had a furry party of Mar-a-Lago.
There was Marie-Antoinette themed earlier this year.
If you got this clip, Matt, for proof.
Now, I think throwing a Marie Antoinette themed party is clearly mentally ill.
The dog costume I don't really have any problem with.
So, but Tommy Tuberville continued doing his own research and he found this story if you got
this next thing.
So he said, post on Twitter.
I know the deranged Democrats don't like the fact that I called out the insane furry culture,
all caps this week.
But the truth is, there's an alarming number of these deranged people working in our airline
industry. So I guess they're just throwing baggage now and that's a problem. So don't
believe me. Yeah. Just a few months ago, pilots were meowing and barking at each other over the
radio at DCA. No, they weren't. Yes, they were. But that's the point. This is where it gets
really funny, okay? We can play this story. Here's the story he's talking about Matt if you got this.
Unidentified pilots heard meowing over an air traffic control frequency Sunday. It's flying near Reagan
National Airport. Another person on the frequency quickly scolds them.
But these pilots responding with more animal noises.
The other person on this critical...
Okay, never mind.
I guess these must be orthopedic shoes I'm wearing
because I stand corrected right now.
All right.
All right.
So the hesitation of like...
So you know the old Mark Twain quote about like dissenting a joke?
No, sorry.
Explaining a joke is like dissecting a frog.
You can do it, but it diesetting.
in the process or something like that? Nobody learns anything
and the frog dies in the process. Yeah, right.
All right. So, but I want to explain here
because this is actually kind of funny. So
I went found the actual story
from a blog called Fear of Landing,
which is written by a pilot who blogs about
airline safety. There's no
mental illness involved in this story unless
being annoying as a bit is
a disorder, which case I have it as well.
So let me quote here. Last week, a video went viral.
It's been fun to see the mainstream media coverage,
try to cover two pilots who were heard and making animal
noises on the radio. There's a lot of contextual knowledge and lower to understand what
happened here. So although the actual event really isn't worth a news headlines,
a good opportunity to get into what actually happened. So they were speaking on a channel called
Guard, which is an international aeronautic frequency, emergency frequency. So pilots typically
have two radios, right? You got the one where you're being passed off in a coded channel
from between air traffic controllers as you move across the country, where you get directions. And they
also keep a second channel open. Like if my dad was a long haul trucker. There's like a channel.
I think Channel 4 is the one everyone goes to if you don't know what channel everyone's on.
It's kind of like that, right?
So, like, guard, you can use for emergencies and lost contact,
basically any situation where you don't know
what frequency of the aircraft or local air traffic controller are on.
It's also the one place where you aren't positively identifying your air traffic
when transmitting.
So you're anonymous on that channel.
See where I'm going here?
So it's high stakes, can be, and you're anonymous.
So it'd be a fun place to, like, bark like a dog and I know everybody, is what I'm saying.
Mm-hmm.
So this is also in Washington, D.C., which has heightened airspace restrictions, to put it mildly.
And, like, guard's not always used for, like, a super serious situation.
It's also where you would let somebody know they have a stuck mic on their main radio channel.
So if you just, like, if you did the button stuck, you'd call up to guard, like, hey, hey, it's moron, fucking you're sitting on your microphone.
So it is hard to backtrack why exactly they do meowing.
Right.
So the theory this woman has that she relates.
is she doesn't share it, but she says, is the theory the whole thing started with the meow joking Super Troopers.
Okay.
See, when I first said, no, they weren't, and you said, yes, they were, but here's the deal.
The very first thing I thought was, I bet it's the meow thing from Super Troopers then,
but listening to that, that's not what I got from it.
You know, it's different.
It's like, you know, what are we doing meow?
What?
Did you just say meow?
Meow, why would I say meow?
You know, anyway.
Yeah.
They were just straight up meowing.
If that is the case, like most memes, it just evolved over 20 years, right?
Yeah.
So, so, like, she points out that, like, this, the cross cultures, people do the same bit,
but in different ways, for example, she points out the United Kingdom, the pilots crowed like roosters, right?
So, but she went back and found people going to play in a 2007 message board thread,
where people are mad about the meowing or, uh, are as bad as the meowsers.
I'm equal here.
Guard is so messed up with meows and guard police that's the people sitting on the meowsers.
It's damn near useless.
I haven't even heard of playing.
with an actual emergency who made a benign sounding radio call at air traffic control and only
to be jumped on by the guard police.
So someone to make a legitimate complaint was yelled out for using guard by a person who thought
they were the equivalent of the meows.
Once everybody stopped saying guard, he said, I'm on fire.
Right.
Okay.
So this is like a thing.
It's like pilot trolls use this just to piss people off because you're not supposed to
do it.
And that has taken the specific form of meowing for a lot of them.
Right. And I'm just pointing out here like, if I can get to the bottom of this, so could Tommy Tuberville.
Right. But it does not behoove him to do so.
No. It does not make me scared of flying. I do not think that all pilots are sexual deviants.
Even if some of them are furries. And I was able to easily figure it out that these people are not fucking furries.
They're just dickheads doing a bit on a CB radio.
Right. But also, again, even if even if you think furriness is sexual deviancy or whatever, I
just don't see what that has to do with, you know, aviation ability.
Do you know what I mean?
Yeah.
Quentin Tarantino was successfully made nine movies.
Right.
He wasn't jerking off the feet the whole time.
Right.
We've got to take a quick break.
We'll be back with a little more D-D action right after this.
Weekly excuse is brought to you by Americans United for the separation of church and state.
We're about a month and a half into the school year now and five million kids across Texas are walking into classrooms.
have the Ten Commandments hanging on the wall.
Texas politicians passed a law requiring those in every public school classroom.
So they're forcing their religion on every kid in those schools, right?
And, you know, teachers got the thousand things to handle before the first bell, all right?
Twenty-something kids, one forgot his lunch, one's crying, somebody's mom's email about the field trip.
They got a lot going on.
Deciding which version of God those kids ought to be looking at was never supposed to be on that list for them.

Alaska Senate candidate Mary Peltola for burning this bright in the land of 23 hours of midnight.
Quote, Ms. Peltola disparaged Planned Parenthood, particularly one of its regional board members.
She wrote, I hope Planned Parenthood knows it is. We don't win. It's more of their loss than ours.
F those B words. She later wrote in a text message to her staff in January, 2024 that was viewed by the Times.
And later that year, Ms. Patola appeared to refer to a woman on the board.
of the local Planned Parenthood chapter.
And she wrote,
I hope she dies of a botched abortion.
Cool.
She'll get us,
discouraged Planned Parenthood.
That took a turn for me.
It's so funny because during the first part of this,
I was about to be like,
dude, this is so close to hitting for me.
But then the botched abortion thing,
and I was like, well, that's, I mean,
that's a bit much.
You're taking a little far there.
So Peltola is a Democratic candidate.
Obviously, which is the only reason saying is she hopes someone to Planned Parenthood dies of a botched abortion is even a moderate fucking controversy.
Right.
So what happened?
She was running for re-election in 2024 when she lost, and she was pissed off that Planned Parenthood was giving her shit over a vote for like must-pass defense spending where it had some like anti-abortion language in it like, I don't know, made it harder for women in the Navy to get, to get health care or whatever, which I get it.
but she's like, why are you giving me shit when I'm the only one on your side?
Which is like kind of her point, right?
So this is downstream of a story the New York Times had last week where a bunch of Pelotola staffers.
Let me quote here, the Times relayed several edged incidents in which Pelotola lashed out of AIDS and others who, quote, who had displeased her.
The staff members requested anonymity for fear of retaliation and to preserve their professional reputations.
Later goes on to say, Peltola fired several staff members in August in a move of the former staff members.
staffer say with the culmination of one of her supposed
outburst. So I want to say good luck maintaining
your anonymity guys. I'm betting it's the people
she fired, but you know, whatever.
So 4X8 said
they heard Paltola used the word
and the F word slur for gay people.
New York Times actually used the word faggot with an
asterisk in the A.
She called her staff that word on multiple
occasions, including about her own staff.
Pelotola's campaign denies that accusation.
Did deny that one. Former Aides also says you were as the R word
for mentally disabled people.
She also made unusual demands of her team,
the sources said.
In one instance, they said,
Potola made an aide feed live crickets
to repet chameleon named Meatball.
Well, I don't know.
That sounds, that's just like,
that's like opening a, like a can of fancy face
for your cat, ain't it?
You know what I mean?
Right.
We'll separate things in three different buckets here,
because they mean three different things.
That also says she shoved.
Like, one of her AIDS, it was a man said she,
shoved him in which case.
I'm like,
you gotta see this like,
like the one of the parts
that makes this funny
is who Mary Palo is.
She's all hippie kind of looking, right?
Like,
or sort of crunchy looking.
She's a like,
she used the word
Eskimoid and Scrabbers up.
I didn't know,
like,
she gave an interview where she talked about
but she might just be like
anti-PC like this,
but she says she like,
she prefers the word
Eskimo to Inuit.
She compared Inuit to being like Latinx or something.
Like it's a word that like,
like, like, like,
like, like, lives used,
but no one actually who is that,
cause uses that, right?
Right.
So, but she's like the world's most milk toast lady who all she talks about is fishing and salmon.
So let me.
It's funny that I said like hippie and crunchy because it's like when white people are doing that, they're just doing native shit.
Like they're just stealing her, you know, her culture.
Right.
I didn't realize she wasn't a white lady.
So I just thought she was like a crunchy white lady.
Like, oh, she's an actual native.
My bad.
She's one legit ones.
And our country, we don't have like, this isn't the same thing.
But like Matthew Bacanahey lives in a Europe recreational.
Right.
We don't know what to call people
who actually live in yurks.
It's not an aesthetic choice, right?
Right.
So I'm like, here's an interview,
forget her in Peltola's usual vibe
and why this is so funny to be.
Here's an interview she did with Tim Miller
on Cookin the other day.
The reason I ran in 2022
was to elevate issues.
And specifically, the issue of
blacked salmon in our two biggest rivers,
the Yukon River and the Kisokin River,
for seven years running,
on the Yukon River
have not been allowed to fish.
I dare say if you're a grown man
complaining about being beat up by this lady,
you fucking deserve it.
So,
probably context here
and her,
like she denies some of this stuff
or says a lot of it's exaggeration,
which is usual stuff
where he said she said kind of stuff.
Well, listen,
it's her fault either way,
Mark,
because it sounds like me,
she just needed to hire
some cooler staff members,
you know what I mean?
Some people that were real bros.
Yeah,
everyone's really annoyed
with Zoomers lately,
which is kind of part of this story.
So, so she,
Peltola's campaign told the time
that she struggled with,
like her,
so she was in the,
in the house from 22 to 24
when she lost her reelection campaign.
And in the meantime,
her mom and husband both died
in close proximity.
Her mom died,
I think of natural causes,
and her husband died in a plane crash.
So she was raising kids by herself
with flying back and forth in D.C.
I can,
it doesn't sound like a great time.
Was the pilot a furry?
Because she might be on the verge
of being radicalized.
Right now.
I think in Alaska it's like dying in a drunk
No you're right definitely yeah
They all gotta just be in flying little prop planes up there all the time just to go to Walmart and back
Yeah so so so the so to separate this stuff in a couple different buckets like she denies using the F word talking to her staff
Like that like that's I don't think that's super cool to be an abusive boss like that
No I think it's I think it's less abusive if the person's not gay which is a part of the context we don't have here
Right and like
Objectively true in my opinion
But I just want to remember where we are in reality here.
There's a fucking war on.
Right.
Gas is like $24 a gallon in Alaska right now where this campaign is sticking place.
So like, also she's running for election to the Senate, which advises the consents on federal, on, for example, court appointments.
And Donald Trump's giving lifetime judicial appointments to 26 year olds who bought their law degrees online because they want to bring back sharecropping.
Okay.
So I think I just I can't really get too
She sounds like maybe a not great boss to a few people
Right and the the including the like the R word here
Read this part from the story trade if you want in your context
Mark, make it may read it that's fine I'm fine with it
In another text message Peltola became irked after a commercial fishing executive posted a photo of them
Which caused her trouble because she is opposed to large scale trawling in the text
Peltola referred to the executive as a quote, retarded and said,
I nothing him, a dismissive expression sometimes heard on the show, Scrubs.
Right. So she watches Scrubs.
That's fun.
Yeah, it's just a good show. We all enjoy it.
So, but like, like, so this guy, she has a constituent meeting with a guy who is trying to lobby her to like let him rape the land, which she didn't do.
He posted a picture to make her look like she's helping him rape the land.
Right.
She called him a name for making her look like shit to people who are actually going to vote for her.
Right.
And she used a naughty word she may be shouldn't use.
Now, the cricket, the feeding the cricket thing, you're just, you're just pussies.
I'm just like, I'm just as soon as you said it, I said it's like opening up a can of fancy.
The only reason that even sounds weird at all is just because it's an unconventional fucking pet.
And maybe because the crickets are also a lie.
But who gives a fuck their crickets?
But it's like, she could have like a pet anaconda, like, you know.
And that make it sound like she was making AIDS.
feed like baby kittens
to fucking pits of snakes
or something. And it's a fucking
it's just, I just
I just don't have any kind of problem with that
at all, dude.
She's a, what's an 18 hour flight
from Anchorage away in D.C.?
And like, what is she supposed to fly with it
as their emotional port lizard? Just go by her house
and feed her fucking lizard.
Right. Can you please feed my lizard
for me? It's like, it's not a, it's not
an unreasonable request.
And so, uh,
So I want to quote it, let me quote you from a reporter for a semaphore, I think.
I asked Senator Gallego, Ribbon Gallego of Arizona, about the New York Times Peltola story on staff mistreatment, who told reporters, quote, when I was 25 at a really bad boss, he may be run across an open fucking field of raking machine gun fire to breach a door.
So yeah, life's fucking tough sometimes.
That's a pretty hard-ass response.
I was kind of amazed.
Like there were different polls
and went around saying her approval,
her approval rating went up after this.
Yeah.
And I do find that funny,
but I think like the context
of what was going on last week
in our cultural discussions,
there were two big anti-Zumer stories
are going around.
There was the ice coffee job interview discourse,
which I don't want to get into
because it's very stupid.
There was happening on TikTok and Twitter
and Instagram and shit.
And there's also the viral story
about the overzealous lesbian bar
about,
the overzealous about masking lesbian bar
and whatever.
Yeah. Yeah, that whole thing.
So like I don't want like that might so just real quick on that like I would read a fascinating squabble drama about any subgroup.
Right. Right. That one had people going to clown college and a blessing bar.
Those people drink for free if they were broke and they were taking advantage over the point the bar was going to the business and they were complaining about like letting looseening their mass restrictions for one night a week.
It's all very, but like that does make a certain.
But, like, you could read the same story about, like, a bake sale in suburban Alabama about one woman stole another woman's recipe.
So that was the first and second woman slept with her husband.
Right.
And the whole fucking school community is falling apart.
Right.
I would also read that.
But that doesn't read as an indictment of whole political ideology.
Yeah, right.
100%.
Yeah.
So these things are overstated a lot.
But like, but I just think the people was like, it's like people just got put in the bucket of, oh, my God, these fucking annoying people are asking for too many accommodating.
Like her Zumer staff got put in that bucket
So no one seems to give a shit
Which is
It seems interesting to me
I don't really have like a takeaway from it
Other than I would still vote for Mary Peltola
If I lived in Alaska
But you guys are crazy up there
No I hear you
Again if you're calling
If you're yelling those words like
At your staffers while berating them
For like small minor things
Then that makes you then you know
You suck
But if you call like you said
A like big ag
Slash fishing lobbyist guy
a retard and a text message to me,
I'm just going to be like, yeah,
fuck that guy.
You said it, sister.
I don't know.
It's also, yeah.
But you ever think about how like Alaska and Hawaii
are allowed to get up to weird shit
because they're just like none of us ever go there
or like revolvelling their politics?
100%.
Hawaii, you can't have plastic bags or straws
and there are no billboards.
If you tried that and fucking in the main,
in the like contiguous 48,
you'd be called a communist.
And they just do it out there.
No one of them gives them shit for it, right?
They were one of the first legalized gay marriage.
It was out there in the Pacific doing their own thing.
Alaska,
continue to elects Republicans while being like,
everyone there gets like,
I forget the number.
Last time I saw it was four or five grand a year,
checked from the government for like a dividend for the oil revenue
because it's probably shared,
which is very Nordic, right?
Barry, yeah.
If you tried that in Texas,
the CIA would assassinate you.
But they just do it.
so I don't want to talk about
this race for a second
because like it's her opponent
talking about the whole like
like square word thing
his name's Dan Sullivan
he was like oh I'm not surprised
about Mary Peltola
you're not fucking surprised
I'm a little surprised
but he did the whole
how dare she thing
where he got the vapors
over her using bad language
I'm like man what part are you in
now I know what's that like
woke right shit or whatever
you know that's like
they find themselves contorted into weird positions
with this type of thing, it feels like.
And like I would, I think,
like, even though I'm a person who says
dirty jokes and swear words for a living,
I would be in favor of like a public sphere
being a little more cooth and putting the toothpaste
back in the bag of making fun of disabled people
and you're doing racist jokes on campus.
But like, the time for, like,
for Republicans to police that in the short term was 2015.
Right.
Like, I'm trying to imagine the person he's like, I'm against name calling, and that's why I backed Donald J. Trump.
So.
Yeah, no, I know.
Exactly.
Also, I just remember, it's like, uh, did you ever watch, like, Armando Ionucci's old, like, the British shows he did before VEP, like, the thick of it or, um, the movie in the loop?
You know, like Peter Capaldi's character in that.
Peter, people don't know what I'm talking about.
It's a British comedy about politics.
And there's a character in his, like, a high level, like, a way, he's like a Carl Rove type dude.
is what his job is.
But that whole character's thing is just like screaming and everyone and using intense profanity
all the time, you know?
And it just, he's just a lot of fun and awesome as a character in the TV show.
But that's part of this sort of like commentary of it.
And it's from a different time.
But I'm just saying it's like it shows you sort of how much that perspective has changed,
I feel like.
Yeah.
I mean, if you like, if you like VIP, you'll like those, what's the, in the loop or whatever?
in the loop is a movie that features
a lot of the same characters from that show
the thick of it it's the same but he's in both
anyway yeah
Ian Nucci's like the go one of James Gall
he plays the American General right yeah that movie is
so fucking great he also made the death of Stalin if y'all seen
if y'all saw that one which is also very good he's the man
sounds like a spaghetti person but from England
he's of spaghetti descent anyway
go ahead Mark
so so Dan Sullivan's is kind of funny he's
running on like, like, he's basically
casting Peltola as like a tool of the lower
48, which is a popular way to run there.
Like, basically like, we, Alastans don't trust outsiders
from the lower 48, but he's from Ohio and
she's an Eskimo, which is all very fucking funny.
Right.
So, this is a pretty
crazy race, including the fact that
there are multiple Dan Sullivan's running
if you got this.
Should we, we decide, do we call them Dan's
Sullivan or Dan Sullivan? I don't know.
Yeah, I mean, I think it would be, you have two
Dan Sullivan, right?
there are two Dan Sullivan.
But Sullivan is pretty good, too.
I like that too.
Tonight, control of the Senate may come down to Dan Sullivan.
But which Dan Sullivan?
This fake Dan Sullivan guy is not in it to win it.
He's in it to rig it.
Two men with the same name are vying for Alaska Senate seat.
Incumbent Republican Dan Sullivan and a former teacher also named Dan Sullivan.
Republicans say the other.
Dan Sullivan is a Democratic plan.
All right.
So this is going to be a squeaker of a race.
You got Peltole.
Some polling usually has her in the upper 40s, so not a majority, right?
And Dan Sullivan's in the mid-40 percentages.
And other Dan Sullivan, Dan J. Sullivan, who's also running as a Republican and has 2.4%.
Alaska has a top four primary.
So top four candidates advanced the general.
Four did advance.
The other Democrat dropped out, so Pelotola could have the one.
Democratic spot to herself. Dan J. Sullivan so far has not dropped out. But also, Trey, can I interest
you in a third Dan Sullivan? Surely not. So Dan S. Sullivan is the Republican incumbent. Dan J. Solvin is
running to replace him, but although not really trying. But to try to solve this up,
Dan S. Sullivan has been endorsed by Dan A. Sullivan, who's the mayor of Alaska, Anchorage, sorry. So that should
really help clear this up.
so
I was trying to
do you know
I was reading a theory
about why Mormons
have such weird
fucking first names
the trend
oh okay
I definitely am familiar
with the trend
yes
yeah there's a old
subredit
for it called
tragedy but it's spelled
the way they spell
their kids names
I recommend
checking it out
it's very funny
it's also
it's a thing
in like white
trash towns too
but the Mormon
version
of it takes it
to extremes
it's basically spread
from Utah
all over
SEC country. I'm assuming because of Crens in college football, right? So, but, but you,
but the basic idea of is the reason that happened in Utah is like everyone has the same two or
three last names. They're all Smith or Lee. That checks out. Yeah. So you want something to set
your name apart. When he goes to a class with 23 kids out of an all name Lee, you want to like,
well, they're going to be five Cairns. I'm going to put three Wies in my Karen's name. Right?
Has a certain sort of logic to it. I'm suggesting that Alaskans do the same thing with
they're Dan Sullivan.
Once you have three ends, once you have four A's, right, okay.
So this has gotten so ridiculous.
A couple months ago, the DOJ issued subpoenas,
trying to get to the bottom of what was up with Dan J. Sullivan.
I don't know what they're subpoenaing.
So like the federal investigators are looking for potential wire fraud or conspiracy
to make the election process unfair per the source.
And it's not clear who might face any charges.
They're trying to find a paycheck from Antifa.
Yeah, right.
Yeah, or George Soros or something.
Yeah, who found him and said,
hey, you've got the same name as this guy.
We'll pay you to run just to confuse people.
You're right.
So, but he also, like,
they could also just subpoena his mom to see if 48 years ago,
she named him Dan as a scheme to conquer the United States government.
So anyway, Dan J. Sullivan has announced that he's not backing out.
So I guess the J-Sands from just fucking staying in this race.
So those sins are updated in the last percent race.
Before we go, I want to talk a little bit about media capture.
Because we haven't talked a lot about this stupid business that you and I are involved in for a while since we were both involved in, you know, the writer strikes back in 2021, 2021, 2022.
Paramount WB just announced their mergers going through because the state of California,
back the fuck down, even though they had them dead to rights to stop it.
Let me quote here, free speech and media advocacy groups urged to judge to block California
settlement with Paramount Skydance who would let the company finalize $11 billion merger with Warner Brothers
Discovery.
Twelve states led by California sued to block the deal in July.
We were able to delay it when a U.S. district judge Martinez-Oguin ruled that Paramount
combined with Warner Brothers would likely reduce competition substantially and violate antitrust
laws. So a judge
to approve it. What happened
here was they have
this is, this merger's
patently illegal. It's
way too much market control for one common. They shouldn't
let Fox merge with Disney. So now five major
studios, there's already too few, was down to three.
Right? Downstream
of this, something like five, 10,000 people are going to be
laid off immediately because they're duplicative with
employees between Paramount and
HBO, for example.
This is bad
for the TV industry, movie industry.
It's bad for consumers.
It's bad for workers.
It's bad for America.
It's bad for the news.
It's bad for people that like TV and movies.
It's also bad for the people that are buying.
The Ellison's going to end up fucking bankrupt.
They don't have the money.
They're over-indexing AI via Oracle.
And their fucking business empire is collapsing.
And we keep having this trend of smaller companies buying bigger companies.
And I don't know why the government lets people keep doing it because it's ruining a bunch of fucking shit.
I never even understood how discovery.
got to be one half of Warner Brothers discovery.
Do you know what I mean?
That was always weird to me because it's like...
Because they're the ones who bought it.
They bought Warner Brothers.
That's like, I'm saying that was always...
I guess it's just, I just never had a firm grasp on just how many people were watching
fucking Shark Week.
Oh, it's not because...
But the thing is, like, they're a much smaller company.
They were allowed to buy a bigger company on a credit card.
That's what I'm saying.
I don't...
Debt service payments, they fucking started shoving movies.
They're already finished, like, coyote versus Acme and shit.
Bad girl, which no one's still ever seen
for tax write-offs.
Because they're fucking dead broke, which is like,
so this is bad for like everybody
that makes TV and movies or whatever.
But like, like, I just like,
so much of our financial system is fucking fraudulent.
What does it mean for the Ellisons,
who own Oracle, they start out buying Skydance.
Skydance is a very small indie movie studio.
They bought Paramount,
which is a bigger movie studio they couldn't afford.
And the combined company,
has now bought Warner Brothers, which is a company that can much less afford.
Yeah.
Right.
I don't understand it.
That's what I'm saying.
I don't get how that works.
Have you,
because you're a Dodgers fan,
I don't really understand how they're doing the finance for this,
although I do know where they're getting some of the money is from the Middle East.
But like,
so like,
did you,
do you look into the stuff about Mark Walters,
how he bought the Dodgers a little bit?
No,
not even more than we talked about it on here very briefly.
When you're talking about he doesn't even really have any money somehow,
but he owns the Dodgers.
So back in 2012,
2013, when the Dodgers were for sale
because their then owner was going through a bad divorce,
all the different offers were coming in
for $1.5 billion to buy the Dodgers.
Mark Walter, who nobody knew who he was,
came in over the top with an offer for $2.1 billion
that he did not have, right?
And he just said the biggest number.
Remember the succession?
Congratulations on saying the biggest number,
you fucking idiots?
He just said the biggest number,
and they gave him the Dodgers.
And the way he showed he was going to be able to afford it,
was he announced a new big TV deal
where he was going to be making $900 million a year
to broadcast the Dodgers locally, right?
The company that offered him
that $900 million to broadcast the Dodgers locally
was a different company that he also owned.
He was paying himself $900 million a year
that he did not have to buy the Dodgers
with money he did not have.
He backstopped that with a deal with Time Warner.
Remember that you couldn't watch the Dodgers here locally
for a long time to go to go to bar to do it?
That's because they were trying to pass along the money
to other cable providers
because Time Warner only had like 20%
of the LA's market share, right?
So the other carriers were not,
we're not paying you the money
to make up this stupid fucking deal
where you overpromised Mark Walter
to pay Mark Walters
to satisfy Major League Baseball.
So then when that subsidiary of Tom Warner's spectrum
or whatever it's called
was going to go bankrupt,
Mark Warner came and then backstopped it
that with money from his insurance company
that you pay your insurance company
for your premiums is supposed to be there
to backstop you when you die.
It's all a house of cards built on nothing
and he just made $2 billion off the fucking deal
selling the Lakers
to try to pay back his own investors so he doesn't go to prison.
Right.
The entire economies is that.
I know.
I mean,
I remember that was one of the main takeaways that I, you know,
poor, white trash,
money, dumb ass got had from the Elizabeth Holmes show,
you know, the first one,
the documentary that's coming out,
the first stuff, the whole Theranos story,
whatever, watching, like, the dramatized version of it
would just be like,
oh, you can just,
like, you can, if you can just lie good enough,
you can get people to give you,
billions of dollars or whatever, like based on nothing.
Like you don't have to like, you can, and it's just, it's always been kind of shocking to me.
I just don't understand.
Like, I don't know.
It's.
Elon Musk's companies have still never made a dollar.
I know.
So crazy.
So like, like, like, if you can, Adam Newman convince people that a commercial real estate
company was a tech company.
It walked with hundreds of millions of dollars to my we work.
Like, what the fuck is good?
Like, it's a great time to be a Charlton.
But as far as how this affects the rest of it.
So now one company, which is one family, one father and son, Larry and David Ellison.
Now, in the last couple years, have acquired Skydance, Paramount, which owns VH1, MTV, CBS, CBS News, yada, yada, yada.
They've now bought Warner Brothers, which has not just the movie studio, but, for example, CNN and a few other cable channels.
And they also bought TikToker last year.
So one father and son owns the way millions and millions of Americans get their news via TikTok.
CNN, Paramount, 60 minutes, whatever.
Next night, I bet they're going to buy Disney.
And they're doing all this, by the way, and they were honest about it, to impact, to stop the backlash against stuff Israel's doing in the Middle East.
The Ellsons are big-time supporters of Israel.
Right.
Do you not want you bad-mouthing Israel on TikTok or 60 Minutes or CNN.
Right.
They will tell you that.
Well, I don't know how much this is going to move the needle for anybody listening right now.
But once they acquired TikTok, my personal numbers on TikTok,
Mark fell off a cliff, all right?
So they're targeting me personally, I think.
That's really why they bought it.
Yeah, to take me down.
But that really did happen, though.
But obviously, I'm saying, I'd say there were algorithmic changes over there
that favored different things than they used to is what I think.
Oh, yeah.
Like, they definitely, like, I was reading a guy who followed, like a reporter who covers
this stuff.
He was talking about, like, the, trying to figure out why choosing Texas by Ella Langley
is so goddamn popular algorithm.
rhythmically, right?
Which is not saying it's not a good song or like I like it to find or whatever,
but like it's a mystery as to why it's so popular when it doesn't manifest in reality
somehow.
And like they're talking, he pointed to changes the TikTok, the Ellison's made a TikTok
and they took it over that changed what's stuck at the top of TikTok's algorithm back in
January.
And it was definitely affected, uh, choosing Texas, right?
So anyway, so, uh, the FCC, by the way, because they don't have the money to buy
it is that they let Paramount sell, they change the laws about foreign ownership to allow
Paramount to sell 49.5% equity stake to Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and Qatar.
So now 60 minutes is 49.5% owned by the people that did 9-11, 49.5% and Israel, the other people who did 9-11.
That's just a joke.
But a small amount of people with an incredible financial interest in what American voters think now have controlling interest over the news.
And so this myth or whatever of liberal media, which I know why people think that and why people describe it that way, but it is a certain cosmopolitanness to America's like national media.
But like when you look at the ownership of it, the supposed to live media, Trump supporters and billionaire psychopaths own Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, Fox News, CNN, CBS.
Did I say Facebook and Instagram?
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
So that's like
Can we just let go of that myth now?
And like
just to speed through this real quick
I don't know we're almost done
Right now there's a big documentary
about to come out about Elon
that no one will accept ads to run
Elon Musk
One reg guy is so wealthy
that even his alleged competitors
will not air ads about a documentary
because it makes him look like shit
Right. Yeah
And it's like
I'm saying.
These same studios and stuff back in the day, you know, still made Citizen Kane by Orson
Wells.
You know what I mean?
Like the equivalent back then was William Randolph Hirsch.
It was really pissed off about that movie and they knew it.
And like it was a big financial risk to them.
But they still did it.
But then now today there's a documentary about the actual guy coming out that is completely
radioactive because everybody's fucking afraid of him.
It's apparently great.
I mean, I'm definitely going to watch it.
It's three and hours and four.
minutes and has an intermission. I probably won't watch it in the theater. But like, it's like,
I just like, if you need a lesson how American capitalism actually works, here's a good one.
Because Facebook is a supposedly must competitor, right? Right? TikTok is a competitor.
They're not, they don't, they're all sticking together to make sure none of them look bad.
And they're going to share the profits and fuck over everybody else. That's the way it works, buddy. It's a big club.
None of us are in it.
