The following podcast is a dear media production.
This is Well, a podcast about wellness in all its forms.
I'm Ariel Laurie, and each week I'm sharing unfiltered conversations with the people
shaping how we feel, live, and look.
Come for the substance, stay for the honesty, and leave with the tools to be well, inside
and out.
I have one of my favorite people on the podcast today, and quite honestly, she's one of the people
that I look to most when it comes to things like beauty, aging well, and just navigating it all with
a healthy perspective. So I'm talking to Molly Sims. She is a model actress, producer, entrepreneur,
founder of Wise Beauty. She is the co-host of the Lipstick on the Rim podcast. And over the
course of her career, she spent decades in the beauty and fashion world. But what I appreciate most
about Molly is that she is such an open book. She does not pretend to be effortless.
She is so candid about what she's tried, what works, what doesn't, the mistakes that she's made,
and just how her relationship with beauty has evolved over time.
And in this episode, we get into everything from the beauty lessons that she's learned,
modeling all over the world, to why she believes that restraint is one of the most important
principles when it comes to aging well.
We also talk about the European approach to beauty, finding the right surgeons and providers,
her favorite lasers and treatments, the exact protocol that she used
to prepare for her sports illustrated shoot and why she thinks extreme thinness is actually aging
women, which is a conversation that I think we really need to have right now. And then of course,
we also go deeper into confidence, self-worth, the surprising reality that she feels more secure
in herself in her 50s than she did in her 20s. And of course, because she's Molly, she is sharing
all of her specific product recommendations, her beauty secrets, the kind of insider advice that
only comes from decades of experience. And as we were talking, I was thinking that we're basically
getting Molly's Little Black Book of beauty providers, treatments, products. You are going to be
taking notes in this episode. And I just love and appreciate her candidness and her honesty because
this is the type of information that so many women, especially women in her position, public-facing
celebrities gatekeep. She is not gatekeeping. You were going to learn it all in this conversation.
And she is just the best. She's endlessly honest, generous, and always hot and glamorous.
Please enjoy my friend Molly Sims. I'm so excited to talk to you. It's been four years,
almost exactly. I think that we did a swap in May of 2022. Was it May 22? I remember because I was going
to Italy that day. I remember that you were leaving. Yes. Yeah.
So that was end of May. I think you were separated.
I was separated at that time. We were just talking before we started recording about just how much
has happened. For both of us in the last four years, you have been absolutely crushing with Wise.
Thank you. It's been a, it's been a labor of love. You know, I say this a lot. I think for me,
like I've never was a part of something from the beginning, inception, an idea. I was always the
holding up the product or coming in and learning the lines.
Like I never really was a part of something from the beginning.
And I think my production work with like my TV and film.
And then I think with Wise, it's how to, it's given me a chance to A,
be behind the camera, but also just be on that journey from the beginning and to see
everything kind of come alive.
Like it's, it's a roller coaster.
Yeah. I'm not going to lie. I think, you know, starting wise, I think I'm happy that I didn't know what I didn't know. Yeah. Right? Because sometimes what you don't know, you don't know. But I work really hard. I'm really grateful for my team. But it's stomach turning. It's we are now in all doors at Sephora as of a month ago. And, you know, it's just, it's also that pressure of retail. So now you have your D to C. And then you have.
you know, another child to feed, a whole different beast. But it's really rewarding. I work hard.
I'm trying to have better boundaries. I know a lot of you don't know me, but I'm from the South. So I always feel
guilty. I think my audience knows you. Yeah. Well, I'm from very Kentucky and I'm a Southern
girl. And so I've definitely made it just kind of like what we started to talk about in 2022. Just what do you
want. Yeah. You know what matters? You know, there's only so many minutes, hours, days,
months, and a year. And like, I think I've gotten better with making decisions. Just being clear.
It's, I've been working since I was 16, but I, it's what I know. I was telling someone the other day. I'm like,
if I have 50 things to do, I will get them done. If I have one thing to do, I can't. It's like, I know. I can't
I'm the same way. I am the same way. It's so funny. But I think it's so important. You have purpose. You have a lot of
different purposes and you wear a lot of different hats. But I would imagine that it's so gratifying to,
one, have something in your head and then see it come to fruition and become an actual thing. And two,
be building something that you're not the product. No. You know, and you've kind of been the product for a lot of
your life. And that's a lot of pressure. It's a lot of pressure. And it's a lot of pressure. And it's a lot of
lot of, I think, you know, we were talking about this a lot recently. I think sheer fear has,
you know, everyone always underestimating me. That has driven me, you know, oh, you can't get
into Vanderbilt. You go to a public school, right? You're not going to be a model. Yeah.
Never even been on a plane except for your junior year in high school to go to Paris, your French
group. The no.
actually has driven me.
Yes.
Oh, you don't, really, you're going to start a celebrity skincare brand?
And I remember thinking like when everyone would always say that to me for so many years.
And I'm like, but it's not a celebrity skincare brand.
It's not a Molly Sims brand.
This is years of me sitting in a chair, being a model, host, actress.
This is years of me dealing with cystic acne, hyperpigmentation, melasma.
Like, at that time, like, I'd just gone.
through like so much with my skin with my hormones, just with everything. And I'm like,
this is a real brand. And I think the more people just doubted me, even when raising money,
it's going to be really difficult. Right. You just got 15 million. And I just got 15 million.
Yeah. So I accepted the challenge. Yeah. I want to rewind a little bit because you had such an iconic
career. I mean, I was listening to you on, I think it was Los Angeles. I love them.
I love them too. And you were talking about things that I completely forgot about. I mean,
what was, it was like you were doing the MTV Spring Break, right? What were some of the other shows
that you did? Oh my God. We did House of Style. Yes. Fashion League loud. Oh, God. We hosted
Marty Graw. We did a lot of, I did Mission Makeover. I was the one that would go and make someone
over for prom and then show up. Yeah, those were, you know, those were such formative years. And I was
coming off of living in Europe and just really, you know, doubting myself, but then putting
one foot in front of another and starting to make a book, to start to make a name. I mean,
listen, Sports Illustrated was huge for me. And TV was huge for me. I recently, as we all know,
just went back at it. Yeah. We're going to get to that, by the way, because I need to know
what goes into doing Sports Illustrated in your 50s and looking at.
the way that you look. It's beyond me. Thank you. But we'll get to that. We'll get to that.
I think, yeah, I think a lot of those early years helped me. You know what I mean?
Like, helps me be where I, where I am today. But MTV was, you know, I remember I didn't really
have much experience in hosting. And I was working with my producer. And he was like, say your name and don't move.
And I was like, hey guys, I'm Molly Sims.
Welcome to House of Style.
And he'd be like, we're getting dizzy watching you.
And just like to think back and like having to watch myself, which was and even hear
myself.
I'd never really heard myself.
Yeah.
I mean.
It can be jarring.
It can be jarring.
Especially on a stage that large.
I'm curious like what your relationship to beauty was at that time in your life and then
how that's shifted to where it is now.
I think I was like a little bit of a sponge because I was from Kentucky and I didn't have a lot of access to like, you know, New York, Paris, London.
And so literally like when I left Vanderbilt and I went to New York and then I went to Germany and then I went to London and then I went to Paris and Italy and all the places.
It was literally like going to school.
I learned to dress a certain way in London.
I learned to no makeup makeup in France.
I learned the love of a French pharmacy.
But because I live there, my doctors ended up being there.
So working with, you know, really incredible French dermatologist, plastic surgeons,
seeing, you know, I was always very insecure with how I looked.
At that time, I was dealing with cystic acne.
I didn't have a great, you know, relationship with beauty with myself.
Not because I didn't love beauty.
I've always loved it, I think, because, you know, being a model at that time was not easy for me.
You know, I'd just come from school. I was in a sorority. I was probably 20 pounds overweight.
Like, I just, I wasn't of the manner born of being, you know, 15 Brazilian.
I just, it wasn't that time, right? And so it was a lot of, a lot of judging, a lot of, you know, people calling me too fat, too tall, too blonde, too.
dark. Oh, you can't be a runway model. Oh, you're a catalog girl. So there was just a lot of
labels that I always felt like I was dealing with. So I, it sounds odd, but I have a way better
relationship with beauty and myself now at 52 than I did at 22. Isn't that amazing? I mean,
I'm younger than you, but I feel better and I feel like I have a better relationship and perspective
about myself at 40 than I did in my 20s, for sure.
I mean, it's like such a cliche youth is wasted on the young, but you look back.
I'm sure you look at photos of yourself back then now and you're like, damn, I looked
amazing, but you don't feel it.
Like, you're the most critical of yourself at that age.
I want to do this whole campaign with Wise because I always say that.
You'll look at a picture and you think, geez.
Yeah, what did I think was wrong?
It's incredible.
But in the moment at the time, you're like,
like, oh, God, I was bloated or I look terrible.
I'm tired.
Like, you just, you can't appreciate it.
No.
And so I'm naming it, don't waste the pretty.
I love it.
Don't waste the pretty.
My friend and I used to say that all the time, actually.
Yeah.
Don't waste a pretty.
But I do.
I feel much more confident now.
I feel, I guess I'm just, I'm more secure.
I'm not asking someone, you know, I joked about this.
Like, do I wear my hair straight or curly?
like I just have more more ownership over me.
You know, I think when I was living in London, you know, I was, I didn't have a lot of money.
So I would always, you know, have to wear vintage because that's what I could afford.
And then scouring and seeing how people dress Italy, like, you know, the effortlessness, the, you know, the Italian way.
Like it was definitely a school, but I was always searching learning.
And I don't feel like I'm going to school anymore.
You're not only getting your worth and validation from your looks anymore.
Correct.
Because you've built this whole life and not just your business, your family.
Like I'm sure being a mom gives you so much purpose and being a wife and being a friend and being a producer and, you know, all of these hats that you wear.
And yes, you're still hot.
Thank you.
You look amazing.
You know, it's what I say.
You know, I say to a lot of women, a lot of girls, you know, like, you don't have to have kids to have worth.
You don't have to do X to be someone.
But you do have to put yourself out there.
You know, you got to be, you know, that's, I think, what's I learned very young.
And I still take those long shots.
It's your Tom Brady.
You're one minute down.
You got to throw the ball. You got to, you got to win. You got to go for it. You got to go. It's like when I'm
working with women in my companies, I value what they say. I don't care if you're 20. I don't care
if you're 15. I value point of view. I value and I always say, if I'm asking you something,
I'm not telling you, I'm not asking you to tell me what you think I want to hear. I'm asking you
the question because I was the girl who would be like, well, what do you want to hear? You know what
I mean? Yeah. But with my own self, I always had a very strong, very strong point of view, a very,
you know, a very strong gut. Sometimes it was wrong, but I always kind of had that inner gut
feeling when to move on. Look, I, I dare say, I loved modeling. I appreciated it. I
still appreciate, you know, what it gave me, the resilience this year, getting out of Kentucky,
seeing the world, having a bigger passport, having a bigger, more wide, like what people go through
in other countries, how they live, how they work, how they act, like, I have a great appreciation
to that to modeling because that opened my world up. I mean, I only had my Harper's Bazaar,
my vogue, my mademoiselle, like every month, like, I didn't have that access that women today
and young girls have. Like, you know, they can see how Ariel does her hair and her makeup
and her wellness routine and, you know, the blonde by, like, I didn't have that. And so I had to
learn it. And that was a little difficult. Yeah. You lived it. I mean, I remember like being a kid in
the 90s, we would wait for the magazines because that was where we were getting everything.
Even, I think I talked about this recently, like catalogs. I would study catalogs and like how they
were dressing and how their hair was and their beauty and all of that. And that's where we were like
getting all of our information. So you had that, but then you were also living it in real time.
So if you've listened to this podcast for a while, you know, I'm always looking for ways to
make healthy eating easier and more sustainable. I love cooking. But I do.
don't always love spending hours a week, figuring out what to eat, making grocery lists.
And that is one of the reasons why I think hungry root is so great.
So what really stands out to me is how personalized it is.
So when you go on the website, you take a quiz.
And they don't just ask about dietary preferences or whether you are trying to eat more
protein or less gluten.
They really get into the details of what you actually like and don't like.
So they ask things like, do you prefer sweet, savory, tangy, spicy, um,
mommy, are there ingredients that you never want to see? It gives hungry root a really good understanding
of your tastes so that they can tailor meals and groceries specifically to you. And they do an
amazing job at that. Every week, they fill your cart with recommendations based on your goals and
preferences. And the more you use it, the smarter it gets. So I also love that it's not just recipes.
They have really great ready to eat options too. They have pre-made salad bowls and grain bowls that
are perfect on those busy days when I need something quick, healthy, and satisfying without having
to think about it. And unlike a traditional meal kit, hungry root combines the convenience of
meal planning with the variety of a grocery store so you're getting food that you actually want
to eat. So you're going to love hungry root as much as I do. For a limited time, get 40% off your

percent off your first box and a free item of your choice for life. I think by now we can all agree
that modern life puts a lot of stress on our bodies between travel, busy schedules, processed foods,
environmental toxins, and just the pace of everyday life, it can feel like we are constantly
trying to keep up. And that is one of the reasons that I like having Armora colostrum in my routine,
especially when I'm traveling. So Armra is a colostrum concentrate packed with over 400 bioactive
of nutrients that work at the cellular level to support things like gut health, immune health,
metabolism, skin, hair, and overall vitality.
And what's interesting is that while a lot of products focus on just one aspect of wellness,
Armour takes a more foundational approach by helping support the body's natural barriers and
systems from within.
So whether you're focused on supporting your gut, maintaining immune resilience,
or simply looking for ways to support your overall wellness routine.
It is an easy addition to your day.
And you guys probably know that I was traveling the last few weeks.
Something that I love about Armra is that I can pack their travel packs.
And I just feel like I am protecting my body, both from getting sick on vacation.
And also, when I am out and about eating things that I don't normally eat, it really helps me to not get bloated.
It keeps my digestion on track and just helps me to feel my best.
So if you want to give it a try, I've worked out a special offer for my listeners.

We are all looking for ways to age well, but healthy aging isn't just about skincare.
It's also about what's happening inside our bodies at the cellular level.
And this is why I find fatty 15 to be so incredible.
It is built around C15, the first essential fatty acid to be discovered in more than 90 years.
And researchers have found that C15 helps support healthy cells by repairing age-related cellular damage and protecting cells from breakdown over time.
So why does that matter?
It's because healthy cells are foundational to so many aspects of our health.
In fact, C-15 has been shown to activate pathways involved in sleep,
cognitive health, metabolism, energy production, and overall wellness. And as we age, supporting
ourselves becomes increasingly important since healthy cells help support healthy aging. And one thing that
I appreciate is that fatty 15 takes a really foundational approach. So rather than targeting just one
area, it's designed to support cellular health throughout the body. And especially when I'm
traveling or my routine is less than perfect, I like simple habits that are easy to stay consistent with
that are supporting many different functions. So Fatty 15 was developed to support healthy aging for
all from kids to parents to grandparents. It's available in capsules as well as gummies for adults
and children. And Fatty 15 is on a mission to support healthy aging for all. You can get an
additional 15% off their 90 days subscription starter kit by going to Fatty15.com slash well
and using the code well at checkout. That's fatty15.com slash well and the code.com
as well for an additional 15% off. Since we are talking a lot in this episode about skincare, beauty,
and how to age well, one thing that I always come back to is that healthy skin starts with the basics.
So we can spend a fortune on serums, treatments, and devices, but if our skin isn't getting the
support that it needs from within, we are missing a big piece of the puzzle. And this is why I've
been taking rituals Hyacera for a long time now. It is a skin hydration supplement designed to work
from the inside out. The formula combines clinically studied ingredients that help support moisture
levels in the skin, which can become increasingly important as we age and our skin naturally
becomes drier. So what I like about this is that it's not about covering up dryness or temporarily
making your skin look better for a few hours. It is really designed to support skin hydration
at a foundational level, helping improve smoothness, elasticity, glow, and overall skin quality
over time. In fact, in a clinical study, Hyacera, led to a 2.9x increase in facial skin smoothness
within 90 days compared to placebo. And participants also reported improvements in skin elasticity,
glow, and radiance. I personally noticed a huge reduction in skin moisture when I went from
about 38 to 40. And this has made a huge difference. And because it's ritual, it's rigorously tested
and validated by a third party for allergens, microbes, and heavy metals.
So you know exactly what you're putting in your body.
So start hyacera to support your glow without compromising on clean science.
You can save 25% on your first month at ritual.com slash well.
That's ritual.com slash well for 25% off your first month.
So I'm curious what you learned.
You mentioned that you learned like no makeup makeup in France and kind of how to dress in Italy and London.
What were some of the beauty tips that you learned back then that you've taken with you?
Oh my God.
I learned the importance of, you know, I would put cans of L-Net in and try to get them into America when you couldn't get L-Nat.
Embryolese.
I learned as they watched women age, less is more.
And I learned that in France very early on.
They look at skin a little differently, a little more clinically, to be honest with you.
They're much more advanced in their clinicals and, you know, they're just so far ahead of us.
I think maybe Korea might be catching up.
Leading the charge now.
I learned that I wanted always to look like me, just the best version of me.
I never wanted to look like someone else.
I mean, I'm dying to do my neck.
I'm dying to do every single part of my body.
But I'm not looking to look like someone else.
And I think I learned that in Europe, that these women, they would age and maybe they'd have some
crow's feet or maybe they'd have some lines around their eyes.
I love that.
Yeah.
Right.
I learned that in Europe.
I learned to take care of myself, my skin, my body.
I learned to do little things, not big things along the way, right?
Yes.
I'm a big proponent of this, by the way.
I know you are.
I know you are.
Me too.
We are very aligned.
And I, you know, listen, it is okay if you want to go in and get nine things done.
Yeah.
Because you're like, I've waited until my 50th birthday, my 60th birthday.
I get it.
But the art of maybe doing one thing, you know, I learned that.
I learned probably the most important thing is that I think there was a big time in like from 2010 to like 2020 when everyone was microderm abrasion, like just like taking off layers and layers of skin.
And I was like, they would never do that in Europe.
And I was very cautious and I never really did it.
Thank God.
Because as you know, when you really mess up that barrier, very hard to get back.
It's your makeup starts slipping.
You look really shiny.
You're over-lasered.
You're over-processed.
I learned that.
I learned to also look at actives a little bit differently.
As a model, like I wasn't brought up on the action.
acne line, the clarifying line, the enzymatic line, the anti-aging line. I hate anti-aging. I was always
kind of on the hunt for like the Holy Grail product. That's how I shop. That's how you shop.
Like, you know, even with wise, it's like if this had a baby with this had a baby with that. I mean,
that is my expats. I mean, don't make it smell like a hot dog. You know, do the pads so you can use
it every day for sensitive skin. Don't make you feel like you're burning. But you want to be even.
You want to be smooth.
So all of those things have really helped me in actually coming up with what I'm doing,
the line itself.
But I did learn that.
I learned that I want my products to do more than one thing, but I can't do a 12-set
product.
You know, I love a mask, but I love a procedure.
And I think if nothing replaced, like your derm in France was very different than your
derm here.
Yeah.
And I think it is as a,
young age, they talk about skin a lot more. I think we're open now because we have more access,
but it's a different time now. But it's a different time, right? And we do. We have access to
Korea products. I mean, I have two CMs in Korea. I have them all over. I mean, you know,
it's fascinating what I've learned, whether it's, you know, growth hormone or exosomes or
PRP or PRN, PDRN or, you know, it's amazing.
Yeah. I feel like that I feel like I'm going to school, which is really fun. Yeah. I've heard you say that it takes restraint to look good. And I love this
conversation. There were so many things that you just said that I agree with. One, doing small things over time. I think that that saves you from going in and getting an overhaul and looking like a completely different person. And I personally also feel like different parts of the face age at different rates. But I have to tell you, I was talking to somebody last week and I told them that you were coming on.
And whoever it was, I can't even remember.
I was telling your team, I'm like, I have amnesia.
I don't remember what I did yesterday.
Called brain fog?
Yeah, it's hormones, I think, probably.
It's sliding into that time.
But they were like, oh, what is she done?
She looks amazing.
And I said, I don't think she's done anything.
And I think that's why she looks so good.
I think a lot of people have, I'm just going to say it.
I haven't had a facelift.
Yeah.
A lot of people.
You have amazing bones.
People think I have, and God knows this neck can be pulled up two inches.
But I, to tell you the truth, I wear less makeup than I did four years ago.
I think it's because you have that restraint.
I think because, like you said.
It's important in dressing and your style.
I've seen it happen to me in fashion.
Like, I love a floral.
But I'm like, I don't know.
I'm a little bit more.
Less is more right now.
I love a, I was in a black button down yesterday.
with great Chanel flats and a black belt and I think I have these same jeans on.
And I'm like, I was like, I feel like I look good.
Minimalism.
A little bit.
Yeah.
It's very hard to tell women I can do it better with style than I can with beauty.
And I'll give you an example.
I'm always scared of something that just comes out.
Same.
Same, right?
Everyone's like, are you getting ZERF or XERF?
I'm like, no.
Not right now.
No, no.
I'll give it a few.
few years. You know, one of my friends 10 years ago, so you can imagine how strong the CO2 put under
the whole thing took her a month to recover. My advice to women, don't be trendy with your beauty.
Don't be trendy with your procedures. Emisha, my co-host on lipstick on the rim, who also follows you
and is obsessed with you. She just got a lower blast. Yeah, it looks so good. And, you know,
we've wanted it for 10 plus years. And we were at,
My husband produced this spring scene movie, and we were at the premiere the night before,
and she was kind of getting a little bit cold feet.
And her eyes were so bad, luckily, at the premiere, I'm like, look how, this is on purpose.
God made your under eyes look so bad today because tomorrow morning at 6 a.m., you're going to be fabulous.
And she went to an ocular surgeon named Dr. Schwartz.
Okay.
I think he trained under Groth.
Amazing.
My advice is that if you're going to do something, go to.
to who does boobs well.
Yes.
Go to who does eyes well.
Because I'm not saying everybody can do everything well.
Dr. Roddy, you can pretty much do everything well.
But it's what they do day in and day out.
Yeah.
I say this all the time too.
I'm like, I don't want to go to somebody who's doing boobs at 10 and a facelift at 12.
And I mean, I know that there are surgeons who are very capable of doing all of the
things.
but I want somebody exactly what you're saying who does it day in, day out when I got my boobs
done and then I had them taken out.
But for the short period of time and my surgeon was incredible.
It's all he does.
It's all he thinks about.
It's all he does.
Did you use Garth?
Cohen.
Oh, Cohen's great.
Yeah.
And I was like, this is what I want.
I think people get on the bandwagon.
I think people, you know, marketing.
There's a lot of good.
Like, you know, lasers.
I mean, I'm Olive.
I know I talk about this all the time.
just have to be really careful. I know it might cost more in the beginning, but dialed down that heat,
dial down and maybe do a few more. I'm actually looking forward to doing a baby CO2 on the lowest.
I believe in micromanetling. I don't believe, I think you have to be careful when you're
with heat in the face for tightening. I think it can be really strong. Yeah. I don't do that.
I did do that once and it melted my fat.
And then I had to put the fat back in.
Yeah.
And it's like, no.
The key to, you know, and I know we look at all the young ones, but they naturally have
the bucule fat, what you don't want to do is take away that because then it's like basically
I can describe it kind of like how I describe my extreme glow, my peptide.
It's you do not want to take down the scaffolding of a house because guess what?
it falls. You want to constantly build it back up is the best you can. As we age, we lose
collagen. We lose elastin. I have my um, invisibleine in. Oh. I'm doing. I never would have
noticed. Oh my God. I'm not doing it. I'm insane. I do not have a lisp. I have envisaline.
But, you know, as your face, you know, ages, your cell turnover, as we know, that's why I'm
so big on, you know, exfoliation. But you knew, and you're seeing it now. Everyone's on peptide.
Everybody's, you know, losing that extra two pounds, five pounds, ten pounds, 20 pounds.
And their skin is dropping, right?
Like, don't get too thin.
It's so bad right now.
It's so bad.
I just have to say.
Like, did you ever think you would see heroin cheek coming back around?
I mean, it makes people look older, though.
It does.
It's like your ass or your face.
If you, it's like, Catherine Deneuve.
It's like, you know, get a little bit more here.
I would.
in your face.
You will actually look younger.
I would rather have an extra five pounds on me and have my face fat than be whatever, like, skinny weight.
No.
You have seen people age like that.
Yeah.
I think there's a level of dysmorphia.
It is.
Once you get in that place, you just can't see it.
You can't see it.
And listen, the camera puts five pounds on you.
Yeah.
But, you know, if it gives anybody a little bit of reprieve or a little bit of restraint, like, have the ice cream.
Yeah.
Have the, your face will thank you.
Got that nice plump.
Yeah.
I mean.
Skin and face fat.
Okay.
Well, not to completely switch gears, but I would be remiss if I did not ask you about what we talked about in the beginning, the S.I.
Shoot.
Oh, my God.
When they told me, when they asked me, I literally said no.
Really?
Yes.
I'm like, no.
But you look so amazing.
Well, I mean, there's, you know, looking good in a pair of jeans and a black shirt. It's very different than, you know, 52 being in a thong.
What is the prep like for that? The prep was hard. The prep was Tracy Anderson three, four times a week. For how long? Three months.
Yeah. And then, you know, I had to shoot after Thanksgiving when she basically had to starve, like less drinking sauna. I'm back in my house. And the one thing I did after the first.
fires was we built a sauna and a coal plunge. I have Amazon heaters that are kind of like humidifiers
to have like air so you're not so dry when you quit working out, but you're sweating.
Strength training. So when I say Tracy, it's not just dancing. It's lifting weights. It's full
body trying to get everything as tight and back connected as possible. I mean, I've had three C-sections
since the last time I was shooting Sports Illustrated. I was nervous. I'm not going to lie.
Yeah. I was, I was, I was nervous. What's the beauty routine leading up to that? Are you doing
like, oh my God, red mass, microneedling, you're doing Botox, what's your skincare? Botox,
micrnealing with PRP. If you're going to do micrnealing and you don't have a lot of downtime,
spending extra money, your healing will be a lot quicker if you use some type of exosomes, PRP,
PRF. PRF.
Yes, I did.
How many sessions?
I did three.
Okay.
And then I did it, Holly Baxhonda, who's my dermatologist here in Beverly Hills.
She did something that was like basically like a chemical peel, but it was like only like two or three days of downtime.
I did that twice.
PRX.
PRX.
I've done that too.
And it was great.
Yes.
Because it has the hydrogen peroxide.
It buffers the TCA.
It buffers the TCA.
And so.
It tightens.
It tightens.
And it just kind of like the texture.
I did Botox. I did, we share a crazy person that we both love that I'm crazy if I don't have her. Her name is Liz Young. She is our colorist. And so, you know, I started planning kind of in September because, you know, I try not to kill myself. And too blonde, not too blonde. You know, what is that? You know, Paul Norton did my hair. Jody did my makeup. And, you know, Paul definitely.
and was like, I really want you to be bright.
And so Liz, I'm sure I was happy about that.
She was the blonder, the better for Liz.
The blonder the better.
I worked with Catherine Esposito.
She's a facialist who was incredible.
I did lifting, you know, basically it was like zip on crack.
Mm-hmm.
The biologique.
Yeah.
I did the, just the tightening.
Yeah.
Of everything.
Mm-hmm.
I mean, I did lymphatic massage.
That was hard, you know, because.
they beat you to a pulp.
Yeah. And it works.
It works, you know.
And then I think just towards the end, I just got so nervous.
I was not eating.
Yeah.
I mean, I was not, you know.
Yeah.
I was, I was nervous.
Well, you looked incredible.
And I'm sure it's refreshing for the audience to hear like, you don't just wake up like
that.
Jesus.
No, not at 50s.
I can't.
I feel like even at 40.
I just did. My house is done and we're shooting it next week. And so we're like doing all this
artwork. And my designer's husband is a photographer and he has a gallery. And he was like, I really want to
shoot you nude in your house to have like tiny little like artsy on film pictures. And he was like no makeup,
no hair, no nothing. Like I want you in the pool like wet hair. And he's like, you're never going to look like this again. Like you're
going to look back when you're 70 and be like, wow.
You know, kind of like we were talking about before.
You have to do it.
And I was like, oh, I don't know.
I was like, you know, it's like so much harder for things to like lift now at 40.
I did it.
And it came out.
Amazing, right?
Yeah.
Yeah.
But that's not SI.
S.I is a whole different piece.
Well, I was just about to say like some women are like, how are you so disciplined?
Because I'm going to be seen on everybody's social.
There's a lot of incentive.
And so there is a goal that I think sometimes women do need.
Yeah.
I needed it.
Yeah. I think that that's something that a lot of people miss when they look at celebrities or models or athletes, ballerinas.
Yes. Like their incentive to be in a certain kind of shape or look a certain way is so high. Their whole career rides on it fortunately or unfortunately.
So they have a different motivation than the average person has. And they have different resources too.
I mean, I've only seen one or two pictures because they did, you know, the sneak peek and it's.
not until the middle of May that the actual magazine comes out and all. I'm like, oh, my God,
there's no telling. That was a fun conversation with my 13-year-old that his mother was going to be.
I'm like, please. I know, do your kids think you're cool? Like, do they appreciate?
Samantha, do you think my kids think I was going to, you know, I did say to, like this,
yesterday morning, we do the morning mash up.
every morning at 7.52 on our way to school. And it's called the age game. And we love it. And we'll guess
everybody's random age. And I was like, oh my God, your dad's so lucky to have such a young bride.
And Ray was like, I was like, yeah, I'm 42. And he was like, you look like you're 39.
I was like, really? And I was like, well, I'm kind of a child bride.
right? Like, dad met me super young. And he was like, I think you look so good. And Scarlett was like,
I thought you were 52. I was like, no. And she was like, really? Because I Googled you. I'm like,
I know, Google is wrong. Like, it's, I don't know. I don't. I think they see me. I don't actually know.
Yeah. I'm sure they. I think parts of them when I'm, I think.
the Oscars. Yeah. Oh, I saw that you brought them. I brought them, you know, because I was worried,
you know, he might not get nominated again and Stuber was nominated. And I think they see us one way,
but then, you know, I run such a tight ship that they're, you know, they're exposed to what I want
them to be exposed to. They don't have phones yet. I don't know if they think I'm cool. I think
they, the one thing when I'm away, each one of them will ask me, when am I coming home?
What are you coming home? Is it, are you coming home late, right, early? I know they love me.
Yeah. That's the most important. Well, I want to know if they know if I'm cool.
You can ask them and then we can. Exactly. Add it in. In this episode, Molly is giving us all of
her secrets for how she got ready for the Sports Illustrated swimsuit shoot. And while you might not

fun beauty things, but I've learned that so much of what we see on our outside starts with how
we're supporting our bodies on the inside. And this is one of the reasons why I love Needed.
They take a really comprehensive approach to women's health instead of focusing on just one thing.
So their women's multivitamin plan combines a multivitamin in omega-3 and stress support to help
address some of the most common nutrient gaps that women face. But the product that I've been
especially focused on lately is their collagen. So our natural collagen,
production starts declining surprisingly early and it's affected by things like stress, sun exposure,
and just getting older, all things that I experience. And Needed's collagen provides amino acids
like glycine and proline, which are critical building blocks for healthy skin, hair, and connective
tissue. What I appreciate is that it's not just about beauty. Collagen also supports things like
joint health, bone health, gut health, and overall healthy aging. Plus, it's completely flavorless. So it's
easy to stir into my matcha, my smoothies, my yogurt bowls, whatever you are having. And more broadly,
I trust Needed, because their products are formulated specifically for women and backed by practitioners
who specialize in women's help. So they focused on nutrient forms that your body can actually
absorb at levels designed to help women thrive, not just meet the bare minimum. So head over to

When I'm out of my normal routine and away from my classes and my gyms here, it's easy to
fall into that trap of either doing random workouts or just not knowing what to do.
And that is why the latter app has been such a game changer for me, both when I'm at home
and when I'm traveling.
So when you sign up, they ask about your goals, your training style, your experience level,
and what kind of workouts you actually enjoy.
So for me, I wanted something that combined strength training
with the lower impact style of training that I love from Pilates.
And based on that, I was matched with a coach and a progressive training plan that felt
completely tailored to me.
And what I love is that every workout is already planned out.
So I open the app, I put my headphones on, and it's basically like having my trainer
right there with me.
It tells me exactly what exercises to do.
How many sets, how many reps, it guides me through the.
entire workout. And the big difference here is that it's progressive. So instead of doing random
workouts and hoping for results, each week builds on the last. So you're actually getting stronger
over time. So whether you are traveling or working out at home or training in a gym,
the ladder app removes all the guesswork. It is like having a trainer in your pocket. So remove the
guesswork with ladder and get a real coach in your ear telling you exactly what to do for every workout,
no thinking, everything planned for you. If you have an iPhone head to ladder.com.

what is your current skincare obsession peptides i believe in injecting it i just started
doing peptides i'm not going to say it right i haven't written down because i'm
many people ask me. I believe in peptides. Peptides, peptides. Really? Yeah.
The one treatment that actually moved the needle.
Micronedaling. Most overrated beauty trend right now.
97 lasers. Deep, harsh, barrier things that like you've got to be careful. Agreed. Most
underrated beauty trend right now. Exfoliation.
A product that you'll repurchase forever?
Your favorite expats.
Or skin glow.
Or which one?
Skin glow.
Okay.
That's the new one, yeah.
The new, my OGs are the problem solver and the gold tube, your favorite ex-pads for
exfoliating and skin glow.
I have a new girl on the market.
Her name is Extreme Glow.
And I want a deep hydration.
I think for the girl who having a baby kind of lost in life in your 30s, the girl who feels
dull, dry and dehydrated, who's.
you know, kind of losing that elasticity. So that's extreme glow. That's a dewy peptide serum. It's
literally like, I brought it for you. It's literally like a face mask in a bottle. Oh my God.
It's 10 benefits, 15 minutes. It's literally not sticky. It's not tacky. It'll just over time,
it'll help build the barrier. But it'll give you that glow. It'll give you that cushion. It'll
give you that plumpiness. That's great. Those are my buzzwords. So I'm excited. What is your I have five
minutes face routine. X-pads, morning cocktail, skin glow with my dewey peptide. I'll do a little bit of
CC neutral, medium or medium tan nude glow CC foundation. I'll mix all of that in there. I'll do a West
Minatilié mascara. I'll do a Merritt Beverly Hills blush or Natasha Donne who has the double
with the blush and the highlighter. Hourglass just came out with an incredible, like, six,
six version highlighters that are so good, I can't even tell you. Really? So good. Victoria Beckham,
just everything about her line is incredible. Tan lines is the perfect beigey, nudie, nudie color,
along with fashionally late from WISE. What else I do? Benefit Brow in the lightest color.
I do, I love an Ilya lip liner, Say lip liner.
Jones Road, I think it's called the nudest.
It's the perfect nude.
Sounds like I do a lot.
But that's kind of like my five-minute face.
I love Chanel.
The balm illuminizers, the highlighters are incredible.
Le beige, the water tent.
Yeah, the water tent is having a moment right now on TikTok.
And the Rouge Noir, like, blush palette is, it's maroon with the black.
It is incredible.
But the balm essential, the kind of the highlighter and the blush, the sticks amazing.
Okay.
Good to know.
What is the best beauty advice you've ever gotten?
Less is more.
Worst beauty advice you've ever gotten?
When I was first shooting House of Style, I had a pimple in the middle of my forehead and never put toothpaste on a pimple.
It burned like four layers of my skin off.
That was what we did back then.
Back then we did it.
So much toothpaste on the pimples.
Put beer in your hair to make it shine.
Mayanase mask.
My God, I did it all.
We've done tanning beds for acne.
Oh my God.
We're tanning, quote, dry it out.
Of course.
Dry it out.
The sun will make it better.
I'm like, oh, my God.
What is a luxury product that's actually worth it?
I feel like you just listed a lot.
A luxury product that's actually.
absolutely worth it. I think fragrance, like finding like a beautiful fragrance. I just got Synthakilian one
that is gorgeous. I love my Lelabo. Which Lalabo do you like? Another 13. Okay. I love that one too.
It's just like a really great base that you can mix a lot of different ones with. I do love Coco Chanel.
I love you beauty. I love beauty is good. I like this. I love Tina. Yeah. I love her line.
Yeah, me too. I think it's so well done. There's a cream from Nurtura B. Say called the cocoon.
It's worth the money.
I like the sound of that.
Okay.
What's your current hyperfixation?
It can be beauty, wellness, food style, otherwise.
I think wellness.
I mean, I've always been a big wellness person.
I've always worked out.
I've always taken care of myself.
But trying to drink more water.
I do this thing called Dria water.
You have to have Dria Murphy.
Oh, my God.
You have to have Drea.
She follows me, actually.
So I should reach out to her.
She's like a, I called her like you, like a wellness curator,
beauty obsessed, like, it girl.
I'm writing that down for my team.
I am telling you she's amazing.
And I do a Driawater.
She just kind of mix everything in this morning that you can think of and get it down.
I love that.
Drea Water, makes her and follow her.
Her name is Drea Murphy.
And she is incredible.
I think wellness, I think is, you know, reading about it.
Yeah.
I mean, I would secretly love to have a hyperbaric chamber.
that I would just live in.
That would be the best.
Okay.
Last one.
What makes someone look instantly more expensive?
A great bag.
Great shoes.
Great jacket.
Have a great pair of jeans.
White t-shirt, black t-shirt.
White button down.
Simple, elegant, chic.
Great tank top.
Yeah.
Overside sweater.
Out the door.
Again, it's like what you're wearing.
You're wearing a beautiful black.
And you.
And white.
A great white pant.
Yeah.
Is always, I was saying this pistola makes a great white pant, legine.
A golden 90s.
A golden 90s.
It's like the butt perfecting jeans.
A good old pair of vintage Levi's.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I think just being kind of put together, but not like trying too hard.
Yeah.
I see some of these influencers.
I'm like, God, you're unsteown.
You're so uncomfortable.
Yeah.
All the time.
I know.
It's just a lot.
It's a lot of layers, textures.
Like, Coachella was giving me anxiety.
I was like, this is, it looks like a costume party.
Was Kendall Jenner.
Exactly.
Thank you.
She was in a white tank top.
Yeah.
The black belt, I think.
And she had white shorts on a backwards hat and a boot.
Like a, I looked up with.
Even Kylie's boots were.
Kylie, yeah.
And Haley.
Like they all looked normal.
Haley was wearing animalized her boots, vintage raincoat.
Yeah.
I don't know.
Sometimes when it's like the lace and the feathers and the leather and the big belts that we had in the early 2000s and the hats and that no judgment.
But I was like, oh.
It's just a lot going on.
Yeah.
Way too much going on.
You know, my personal opinion.
Me too.
I mean, I respect it deeply.
But I felt like it was like a version of Burning Man.
It was like a caricature of previous years of Coachella.
I know.
I know.
I have never been to Coachella.
I'm going to go one day.
I have not been since 2012.
And I was looking at 2012 and we were in cutoffs and bikini tops.
I know.
That was it.
I know.
It's like the best time.
Okay.
So I want to start with a quick this or that.
Botox or lasers?
Botox.
Facials or at home devices.
Oh God.
It's so hard.
Facials.
Who's your facelist?
Catherine Esposito.
And she's amazing.
Red light therapy or microcurrent?
I'm so sorry.
They're the same.
I'm obsessed with both of them. I'm so sorry. It's a tie. It's a tie. Morning workout or evening workout.
Morning workout. I can't get anything done in an evening. Yeah, no. Coffee or green juice.
Coffee. Are you doing coffee first thing? Always. Yeah, me too. I can't. I try to do the lemon water first. I can't.
I got these concentrated minerals. They're like traced minerals and it's the dropper thing. And I used to do that in it.
Yeah. The trace minerals. Yep. So I just do a glass of water. I can't do a whole thing. But I
I like. Will you tell me your trace minerals? Who do you use? Yes, I use. It's called Concentrace.
Concentrace. I'll text you. I'll text you. Because I feel like it actually really helps. And I just feel like I can't do all of the different beverages. You know what I've been taking? Green Compass. You know that company Green Compass? No. It's a CBD, but they have this immune jelly. And it's like 3,000 milligrams of elderberry. Oh, great. It's a gummy. It's great. Pure elderberry. I love a gummy. I love a gummy.
Ice rolling or lymphatic drainage.
Ice rolling.
I did it this morning to come to you.
You look.
Thank you.
Tight and lifted.
I was trying this morning.
Yep.
That's how it looks.
Minimal makeup or full glam?
Minimal makeup.
Cream blush or powder blush?
Cream baby.
Cream all the way.
You can set with a little powder,
but cream all the way as you get older.
I love speaking of hourglass.
Have you tried their liquid blush?
That's what I just said,
the liquid highlighter blush.
I didn't know it was the same thing. Okay. So they have, yeah, I'm obsessed with the liquid blush right now. It's so good. It's so good. There's like the new shades. Have you seen them? No. I thought I wish I had a picture. It's in the little thing. Yes. Now they have the liquid highlighter blushes. They're amazing. Okay. Just came out. Spray tan or natural tan? I'm just going to give a shout out. It's the best self-tanner in Los Angeles, Alexander DeMarkey. I hate spray tans. Me too. She is the only one who does not
make me orange.
Really?
She is incredible.
She did my Sports Illustrated, every trip, Globes, Oscars.
I will send her to your house tomorrow.
Oh my God.
I love that.
Next week.
Next week I need her.
Small glow, dark glow.
I think she's on the cover with Aza Gonzalez and women's health.
She just did Jen Gardner for her movie.
She is, it's beautiful.
Really?
It's even, it's incredible.
Yeah, you never look orange on a carpet.
She's an artist.
Yeah.
Okay.
Good to know.
And my friend, Catherine Bowen, who's very, we have very different coloring.
We were in spring break together.
And I was like, use Alexandra.
And she looked incredible.
I mean, incredible.
I'm like, how did you?
And she was like, I know.
Like, I'm not streaky.
I don't look.
I'm like, you look incredible.
Yeah.
Wow.
Very, very good.
Very much of an artist.
Okay.
Where's one that I want to end on?
Sona or Cold Plunge?
Sona.
I hate a cold plunge.
I mean, who likes it?
Let's be honest.
Scarlet Super.
Do you do contrast?
So you do like in the cold plunge first and then, yeah.
So hard.
It's so hard.
I miss you.
You're so good.
I'm so happy to see you happy.
Me too.
I was just thinking that.
I was like, you're in such a different place than you were in 2020.
Oh my gosh.
You have to come on the podcast.
Yes.
Anytime. You know, you're so good at like what I love most about women who share. You're so
transparent and giving and you don't hide and you don't, you just tell what you're doing like it is.
And it's important to be honest. I think so there's a lot of great things on the internet. A lot of bad education. Yes. There's a lot. I mean, to be able to
to filter through this. I mean, that's why I think your podcast is so successful is, you know,
you do a lot of work, you know, to give your audience, like, the inside scoop, right?
Be honest, tell you what to do, what you're going through, your life. Like, it's not easy.
No. People think, oh, you know. It's just going to just sit and talk for a little while. It's so much
harder. Thank you. Yeah, I'm coming up on seven years, which I'm like, seven years in podcasting is
like seven dog years. Like I feel like I've been doing it. Yeah. I feel like I've been doing it
for decades. It's amazing. And again, like you're so with your media. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's a
full time job in and of itself. I think people don't necessarily realize what goes into it. But I'm so
grateful for it because I love connecting with people like this. And I love being a filter. You know.
we need it. Yeah. You know, because it's, it's, there's a lot of noise. Yeah. A lot of products. Yeah. A lot of things. And while,
you know, hearing and researching is always great. It's like, okay, what are we actually going to do? Yeah.
And I think what's your kind of like me, what to do, when to do it and how to do it. Yes. Just tell me. Just tell me what to you. Yeah. But it's also fun. I mean,
I like you, get sent a lot of things. So it's just fun to research and try different things.
things. And I think for me with Wise, it's been like, you know, so many of my favorite founders,
like we're all, you know, playing in the same sandbox and helping each other. And it's really good.
It's really, it's a good time. I'm glad people are sharing. Yeah. I mean, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's,
to, to, Mommager, dinner. I love what she did. I think. I love it. I love it for Levine. I love it for.
Yeah. So what I did, so I did, Kylie, you know, here's what I did. Here's what.
what I did. Here's the size. Here's the M. I love it. I love when women, oh, especially women in the
public eye don't lie and say, you know, oh, yeah, I didn't do anything. Yeah. I slept.
I think it's one thing. It's one thing if you don't want to talk about it. And everyone's entitled to
the privacy, but it's the lying that gets me. It's like, just don't say anything. Like,
you don't have to answer that question even. I know. It's crazy. I love that Anne Hathaway
showed the braid trick on the facelift. I love it. I love it.
loved it. She was like so good.
Chris Jenner, I'll give it to them.
They, they, you know.
I think we've seen, I think we're turning less is more now.
I think we're coming back. I think it's not as much as baked as it was with the face and the sculpting and the contouring.
And I think we're kind of, you know, we're going back to the 90s.
Yeah.
Our favorite are. We are. We are. I don't know if you guys are, but we are.
But yeah, it's, I don't know. I think.
I think in terms of beauty and fashion, I'm really happy with where we're headed.
It was a, I don't know, it kind of seemed a little, I don't know.
