Episode Date: July 1, 2026

I’m back with a solo episode answering some of the questions you’ve been asking most lately. We’re covering everything from how I structure my workdays, what creator life actually looks... like behind the scenes and how I think about money, investing, and the things I choose to spend on now versus five years ago.On the beauty side, I’m sharing how my philosophy has evolved, the three treatments I’d keep if I had to start over, the procedure I wouldn’t do again, my thoughts on facial fat transfer, cosmetic surgery trends and the beauty insecurity I’ve finally let go of. I also weigh in on the treatments I think are worth the investment, and the ones I think we’ve collectively gone a little overboard on.Finally, we get into some of your relationship questions, including dating with an age gap, the challenge of leaving a relationship with someone who’s a great person but not the right partner, what my divorce taught me, and a few updates on life lately, including the house remodel. This episode is brought to you by:Use code WELL and save 20% on your first order at https://justthrivehealth.com/WELL. Head to paleovalley.com/well, or use code well at checkout for 15% off your first purchase.Get $25 off your first purchase when you go to TheRealReal.com/well.Visit quo.com/blonde for 20% off 6 months.Go to dailybasislife.com/WELL to get 30% off your first month. Visit timeline.com/WELL20 to get up to 39% off your Mitopure Gummies. Try LMNT and get a free sample pack when you go to drinklmnt.com/well. Try obé Fitness for free 30 days at obefitness.com with code WELL.This episode may contain paid endorsements and advertisements for products and services. Starting point is 00:00:00 The following podcast is a dear media production. This is Well, a podcast about wellness in all its forms. I'm Ariel Lori, and each week I'm sharing unfiltered conversations with people shaping how we feel, live, and look. Come for the substance, stay for the honesty, and leave with the tools to be well, inside and out. I was gone for like two and a half weeks, and that feels like a fever dream because now I'm back.
Starting point is 00:00:34 And it was like we went so early this year that it almost didn't feel like it was really summer, although we're going back in a few weeks. So, yeah, I don't know. It's weird. Like, I just feel like being back here, like in the middle of the summer. And a lot of people are gone. And I already went away. Like, I just feel like, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:00:57 What am I supposed to be doing right now? But oh my gosh, it was so fun. The trip was so fun. I feel like there were so many funny things that happened. happened and now I can't even remember because in some ways it feels like it was so long ago. But we did get stuck in London on the way home. And that was how I ended up running through Wembley Stadium at Harry Stiles. Like of all things, people were like, wow, I didn't know you were a fan. I'm like, I'm not. I know some of the songs that are on the radio and everything, but I'm not
Starting point is 00:01:27 like a Harry Stiles huge fan by any means. But our friends that we went with are friends with him and his team and everything. And we were flying back from Santropay. So we were flying Nice to London and then spending the night in London and then leaving like super early the next morning to fly back to L.A. And I had been really sick. So my boyfriend had a little tickle in his throat when we were in Italy, which you know for men is thoughts and prayers. They do not do well being sick. I got like a throat cough thing that seemed to be going around. Everybody had it. And it didn't really stop me. I was never physically sick in my body. But when we flew from Nice to London, I had the horrible sinus issue with the pressure. So I didn't even realize that I had any sinus issue until we were flying. And so I was like,
Starting point is 00:02:21 oh my God, how am I going to fly back to L.A. tomorrow for 11 hours with this sinus thing happening. So I'm like Googling what to do. And it's telling me like get Sudafed, get this, get that. So we sleep for a few hours, wake up, get to the gate super early. It was an 8 a.m. flight. We're delayed getting on the plane. I had taken, it said take Sudafed an hour before the flight. So I had bought Sudafed and then I went to the pharmacy to get like earplugs. And the pharmacist goes, is that the Sudafed that you're taking?
Starting point is 00:02:54 And I said, yeah. And she said, I don't know, you need this. And she gets the prescription kind like the meth. And so I had already taken the one kind. And then I was like, okay, I'm going to take this other one like an hour before the flight because I was so scared of my eardrums bursting or something. So we get on the plane and we're like about to taxi and the pilot came on the radio and he was like, we have a maintenance issue. The emergency transmission signal is stuck on. So we can't hear our radio and we can't turn it off because if we do and we crash, search and rescue won't be able to find us.
Starting point is 00:03:32 la la la, la. Like, we don't need to hear this. TMI. So anyway, they have maintenance on the plane. I look back at my boyfriend who's in like the pod behind me. He's asleep, of course. I'm on meth. I'm like cracked out of my mind. And then this woman collapsed and the paramedics were on the plane. And anyway, we sat on that plane until the crew timed out four hours. And long story short, we're at the airport to like 2.30, our friends were like, oh, you can come to Harry Styles with us tonight. We'll meet at 6. I'm like, I have nothing to wear. We have to get a hotel. We have to. It was just crazy. So we ended up going and it was so fun. I like had so much energy. And I'm like, don't they say that that's how people But it's not like Adderall. We are like actually taking an amphetamine. But I was like, why do I have so much energy? This is not because I'm
Starting point is 00:04:30 sick and I like didn't sleep. So why? What is this? I think that you have to like cook it. So everybody, wellness and sobriety. No, I think you have to like cook it. It has to like chemically change in order for it. But anyway, I was like, well, whatever it is. Like I had a boost. And so we're like running around Wembley. We're like with his trainer. We're down on the floor. But that's it. That's my only life update. So I'm going to get into the questions that you guys sent in on Instagram. I was going to do this at the end, but since we're kind of talking about it, somebody asked, what is influencer life like? Are you always working? What is a typical day actually look like? So a typical day,
Starting point is 00:05:16 it's totally different every day. I try to structure my weeks where I'm like time blocking, especially because I have so many different buckets. So I have my brand. I have my podcast. like my product brand, my podcast, and then my personal brand, and then this other project that I'm working on. And if I'm doing all of those things every day, I'm just so ineffective. So I really need to kind of structure my week where it's like, this day is for podcast only. This day is for making content only. This day is for skincare product only. So I try to adhere to that as much as possible because if I don't, I just feel like I'm too scattered and that's when I start to feel really burnt out. Life is interesting. I've been doing it for 10 years. So I've gone through so many
Starting point is 00:06:10 different phases. When I started, it was blogs and it was like taking a picture and uploading it on Instagram and writing a caption and that was it. So there wasn't as much pressure to always be creating and you really had like a lot of space like mental space physical space, energy space where for me I've always been very obsessed with it. But it definitely changed a lot with like Instagram stories because then we all became little reality show producers. And then obviously with video, a lot of us have become full time video editors as well. And there is pressure to ABC always be creating last night. For example, I was making dinner and I was like, I should be filming this.
Starting point is 00:06:53 And that thought creeps in a lot. And usually I like push it out of my mind because I just have to have things that are not for content, but I did end up filming it. But I will say I have pretty good boundaries. Like I'm not one of those people that's 24-7. This is my life, like showing everything from when I wake up to go to bed for better or worse. Like maybe that's why I haven't had exponential growth like some people because I feel like
Starting point is 00:07:19 that's what people are really craving and seeing like the day to day. But I've always been a lot more private. And so that's what I'm comfortable with. But yeah, some weeks are like extremely busy, tons of pressure, very, very stressful right now. Obviously, like I was saying before, it's a little bit less so because I've been like very cognizant about not doing sponsored content right now because I have too much other stuff going on. Some here and there I'm doing. I'm very light on recording and everything. So yeah, it just depends on the time. But I feel like we're actually, the pendulum swings and we're kind of going back to like the single photo on Instagram, which I am so happy. I even saw somebody, Julia Broom, who is social media strategist,
Starting point is 00:08:07 expert. She's so cute and very knowledgeable. And I feel like she sees trends very well. And she was even saying that. She was like, everybody was so burnt out on Instagram because it was like another TikTok and because it was so edited, fast, choppy in your face. And now it's not even the carousel. It's like the one picture. So that's kind of exciting. What am I most excited about right now? I'm excited about some trips this summer. I'm excited about, I'm like, do I even want to say it? I'm excited about projects that I'm working on that I can't share right now, which is so annoying. It's like when influencers are like, I have a secret project. We don't care until you can show us what it is. But I've been doing things that are not my typical work, if that makes sense,
Starting point is 00:08:55 that are new for me that I'm excited about, that are very stimulating for me and I think are going to be great when they're done. People have been asking about updates on the skincare and they're like, it's taking so long. It takes a long time. It takes such a long time to release a product from like concept to actually a product that people can like use on their bodies. And I want it to be perfect. And then there's also so many things that happen on the back end as far as the business goes. And as far as like lead times even with factories and contract manufacturers and doing different kinds of testing. And it's amazing. And I'm so excited for it to be in people's hands. But I'm also not rushing it. And it's frustrating for me too. And for like people on
Starting point is 00:09:45 my team because we want to get it out, but there's other things happening that are delaying that process, which are good things, but it's just making it so I can't really release. And then there's things like, I don't want to release around the holidays or in the new year. So now we're probably not launching until spring. That would be the absolute latest is next spring. But it's worth it. It's worth the weight. What am I spending money on these days? I just kind of started. like shopping a lot again. Not a lot, but I feel like when I was doing my house, anybody who's remodeled a house or anything knows how much of a money pit it is. And I just never knew every month the kind of checks that I was going to be writing. I just wasn't shopping and spending money on a
Starting point is 00:10:35 lot of other things, which now I am. But honestly, I say this all the time. The majority of my money goes back into my business. And I feel like I need to do another finance. episode. I know people are scared of that or even like for me. He's so great. I feel like when I had remit on a couple years ago, thank God for him. It was before I got divorced. I'll divulge a little bit here. People think like, oh, I just got a divorce settlement. That's all. Okay. No. I had been with my ex-husband for eight years. I'd been working. I'd been making a lot of money. I had been saving a lot of it, but not investing. And I also was like receiving money. That's that's a hot take that nobody knew. People don't know that. There are things like that worked into pre-ups sometimes. So I had a lot of
Starting point is 00:11:22 money that I had just been saving. I didn't know anything about investing. And Rameet came on my podcast. It must have been like 20, 23 and or 22. And I moved so much of my money after that into just the SMP. And everybody who knows about the market knows like the SMP had returns like crazy, like 23%, 24% whatever in those years, like 2023 and since then. And obviously it's gone down a little bit now. But like, oh my God, it, I don't have quadrupled more than that, my money. I don't even know. It totally changed the game for me. And had I not had him on my podcast, I never would have known because I never learned about finances. What the fuck are we doing?
Starting point is 00:12:12 Did you? You're like, yeah. I just feel like taxes, I don't know, like nobody really bounces a checkbook anymore, right? That's like ancient. I'm sure people listening don't even know what that is. But like this is all stuff that I had to learn, not just as an adult, but like in my 30s. And oh my God, had I known that sooner? And had I been investing, that's not to say people did not try. Like, I'm not giving my family any credit
Starting point is 00:12:40 here, my parents and especially my grandmother, because she's very much in that world and likes to still. She's 98 and she's still day trading and like bought a bunch of an invidia. When it blew up, I remember she sent me a Susie Ormond book, Young, Broken Fabulous when I was like 20. And I was just, I was in a different place in my life as we were talking about before off Mike in my 20s. But I feel like younger people are so lucky now that they have all this information at their fingertips on Instagram and TikTok and YouTube and podcasts and everything because like I just did not have that. But anyway, I've been very cognizant about what I'm investing. That's the most important thing to me.
Starting point is 00:13:19 And I've even said to my business managers and everybody like, just give me an allowance. I don't want to have to think about how much I'm saving, how much I'm investing, what's going where, how much I'm spending on my business taxes. is just after all of that is taken care of every month, tell me what I can spend for fun. And I'll do it. I'm so compliant. Give me a number. Okay, that's great.
Starting point is 00:13:41 I'll do it. I'm having a little more fun with it now because the other stuff is taken care of. And I think that that's so important. And that was another thing that Rameet really stressed. And that's kind of his whole philosophy is live your rich life. And it's not about cutting the macho lattes or you always. always have to budget. You always have to deprive yourself of the things that you like or that are quote-unquote frivolous. And instead, it's how do I like take care of my money and make sure
Starting point is 00:14:12 that it's working for me? And then how can I have fun with what's left? Whether that's $100 or $100,000 or whatever. I feel like I just never talk about this. And people ask, I don't know, I was always raised that talking about money is it's just like gosh to talk about money. But I think that people need to know. And like, I just think we need to be having these conversations. And I don't know everything. There's still so much for me to learn. My boyfriend is very obsessed with it. He has that mind. I saw this video. It was on TikTok or Instagram. And it was like, does anyone else's boyfriend just, and it was like him on his phone on the calculator? One thing I've realized over the years is that you can eat a really healthy diet and still come up short on certain nutrients and that is one of the reasons why I am so interested in organ supplements lately. So if the idea of eating liver or heart or kidney isn't exactly appealing, I totally get it. And Paleo Valley's grass-fed organ complex makes it incredibly simple. It's made with 100% grass-fed, grass-finished beef liver, heart, and kidney sourced from regenerative American farms,
Starting point is 00:16:54 then gently freeze-dried to help preserve the nutrients. I also love that it's a whole-food source of vitamins and minerals rather than another synthetic multivitamin. Organ meats are some of the most nutrient-dense foods that you can eat. They are naturally rich in things like vitamin A, B-12, iron, selenium, and co-Q10, which support energy, healthy skin, hair and nails, and overall wellness. And unlike a lot of organ supplements, this one combines three different organs instead of just one. So you are getting a broader nutrient profile. The best part is that it takes just a few seconds a day. you get all the benefits without having to cook or taste organ meats, which let's be honest, is a win. I have been absolutely loving this lately. And right now, you can head to paleovalley.com

If you have listened to the show for a while, you know that I love investing in beautiful pieces that I will wear over the years. But I've also learn that sometimes you buy something that seems perfect. You wear it once and it either just isn't you or you just know you're not going to wear it again. This literally just happened to me. I sold something on the real real that I had worn once and it was ridiculously expensive. I was honestly shocked by how much money I got back and instead of letting it collect dust in my closet, I turned it into something I genuinely love and know that I will get so much more wear out of,
Starting point is 00:18:25 especially during the summer when I'm refreshing my wardrobe for trips, dinners, and vacations. I love browsing The Real Real because they have over 10,000 new arrivals every day from brands that I already love. You can find incredible designer pieces often at a fraction of retail. And every item goes through their authentication process so you can shop with confidence. And if you're thinking about selling, they make it unbelievably easy. They handle everything from photography and pricing to shipping and customer service. So you can just send in your pieces and get paid. The Real Real is the most trusted name and authenticated luxury resale with over 10,000 new arrivals daily.

If you run a business, I don't have to tell you that it means you are always reachable until you're not. And the moment that you miss a call or text or a follow-up, a competitor is the one that picks it up. And that is why today's episode is brought to you by Quo, spelled QUO, the business phone system built so you never miss an opportunity. So all of your calls,
Starting point is 00:19:45 text and voicemails live in one place so anybody on your team can pick up a conversation, see the full history, and respond fast. Quo also integrates with the tools that your team already uses like HubSpot,

I've been back on my row game.
Starting point is 00:21:06 People are like $1,000 for polyester pants or something. I'm like, are they polyester? I don't think so. Yeah, the gala pants. I don't know. I wore them like nonstop on vacation. Are you looking it up? We're going to back check this live.
Starting point is 00:21:23 Gala. They have different. They have cotton and then they have crepe. It has to be like wool, right? Or silk. People ask me, genuinely. I'm not just making this up. Why spend on something like the row when you can get a dupe? The quality is just better. And I've always been of the mindset. And you guys know, like, I wear high, low. This is Zara. I'm just wearing jeans today. But on vacation, I was wearing Zara with the row. I have no problem doing that. But if it's something that's like timeless, you look like you have bad news. What does it say? That's this hard hitting journalism, by the way. Okay. I'm going to repeat it because Tessa doesn't have a mic. So the gala pants that I've been wearing are what percent? 69% triacetate, which is wood pulp, right? And 31% polyester. I don't know. There's got to be some kind of like design person who can explain why they would do that. The row, the way it's constructed, it's like the way it drapes on your body, there's nothing. Like there are things that come close. But for me personally, I just haven't found anything. There's got to be. reason. Can we Google why? I'm going to ask chat. Why does the row use polyester and triacetate
Starting point is 00:23:01 for their galapants? The reason the row uses a triacitate polyester blend in pieces like the galapant is that the fabric gives a very specific look and performance that is actually difficult to achieve with natural fibers alone. Triacetate creates fluid, elegant drape that hangs beautifully from the hip, exactly. Also makes your ass look incredible. I said that, not chat. Holds a sharp crease well, has a subtle matte lux finish that photographs beautifully resist wrinkling better than many natural fabrics. They literally don't wrinkle. That's the other thing. So that's why I put it in my Friday favorites twice because I'm like, they're the best pant to bring with you traveling. I could have packed a carry-on probably, at least of the clothes.
Starting point is 00:23:50 because those pants they don't wrinkle. And they were my airport pants. And then I would wear them with heels at night. And then I would wear them over a bikini at the beach. Like they're just, anyway. The polyester adds strength and durability, shape retention. Pants are less likely to bag out at the knees. Additional wrinkle resistance.
Starting point is 00:24:10 Longer wear life. Why luxury brands use it. Many people assume luxury automatically means silk, wool, or cashmere, but high-end tailoring often uses technical fabrics when they create a better silhouette. The famous Japanese triacetate polyester fabrics used by luxury houses are prized because they drape like heavy silk, travel well, rarely wrinkle, maintain that clean architectural shape that brands like the row are known for. Okay. So my follower was right. But we're both right, I guess.
Starting point is 00:24:42 I get it. I mean, I think some luxury stuff is so insanely priced and especially now. prices are insane. What are we doing? Like, I understand this is going to not come off relatable at all. I understand a few thousand dollars for a jacket or for like a leather jacket. Like the San Laurent thing is like, I don't know, 6,000. Like, but it's good leather and it's silk line and everything. And it's like a forever piece. But the prices are absolutely insane. And I think what's happening. and what's going to happen in the next few years is like, and we're starting to see it now with like the SpaceX IPO. I know people who literally had got billions of dollars from that and like hundreds of millions and millions. There is going to be like an Uber, Uber, Uber wealthy class. And then there's going to be everyone else. And so expensive things are going to be more expensive, I think, almost like dynamic pricing, you know, because there will be a demand for it. But it's out of
Starting point is 00:25:47 control just over the last few years what's been happening in luxury and the pricing. So I'll like buy it here and there, but I don't know. I feel like if I'm going to buy luxury, one, it's got to be timeless. I'm going to have it in my closet forever. And so far that's been the case. And I wear things. People follow me on social. Like they see I wear things from years ago. I have boots that I wore the other day that are like a cream leather. They're the row. They're from like 2016 or something. So that's my like philosophy when it comes to spending on fashion. But yeah. But if I'm going to like really spend, I would spend on the things that I like really love and collect like your meds bags. Okay. I'm getting way off track. Someone asked how is it living in my house. I will just address this because I get this question on my
Starting point is 00:26:38 Instagram like every day too. I have not spent the night there yet. The reason for that, mainly, well, one, I live with my boyfriend and we're like so happy with it. And two, the reason that my house remodel has taken so long is because we've been so intentional about every single thing that has gone into the house. We didn't just want to like get it perfectly done and staged just to get it done. I mean, it took us like a year and a half to find like the console for the living room. Everything is found. It's all either antique or custom and, like, the art and certain, like, lighting, vintage lighting fixtures and things like that.
Starting point is 00:27:23 We've just been, like, so slow and intentional with it. And we were shooting it, like photos shooting it, just putting that out there. A couple months ago, it was like end of April. And I just felt like, I don't want to live in it before we shoot it because it's only brand new once. And did I tell you what happened with that? We had this photographer fly in from London. He's like kind of a renowned photographer. He shoots for like world of interiors and a lot of the big publications. And he walked off the shoot after like two hours. It was so bizarre. He left. I won't get too into details because it's not really my story to tell more like for my designer. But
Starting point is 00:28:12 Yeah, he walked off and it was so weird. And then he didn't respond to anybody. But then he posted pictures of my house on his Instagram stories that night. And I was like, that's palsy to be posting the job that you walked off. So then we were like, oh my God, now we have to find another photographer. And then Eric was traveling and then I was traveling. And so I still was like, okay, I don't want to live there yet because we still have to shoot it. And so, I still have to shoot it. We're shooting it tomorrow. Everybody listening to this last week. We will have been shooting it. And then I think we're going to start staying there. Like, it's such an amazing house. I'm there during the day every day. It's like, I can't even explain. It's so, like, such a sanctuary. And what you see
Starting point is 00:29:02 on Instagram is not at all. Everyone who goes there is like, whoa. Because I only show a little bit. and it also doesn't like translate to iPhone photo. But yeah, I'm like pretty much most of the time still at my boyfriend's house. We didn't play the tape through because I bought the house when we had been dating for a couple months. And I was living in a condo at that time. I was like trying to think of the timeline. And I wasn't really planning on buying anything.
Starting point is 00:29:32 And then my boyfriend actually was like, oh, there's this great house like near me. you should look at it. And I really didn't think I was wanting to buy anything in L.A. And then I saw it. And I was like, oh my God, it's like very special. And I wasn't sure what to do. And somebody close to me was like, instead of how do you feel about it? How would you feel if you didn't get it? And I was like, not good. I think I've shared that before on this show. So it was just an important thing for me to do after getting divorced and quote-unquote starting over or starting a new chapter to do that, to buy a house, to remodel it exactly how I want to make it mine, something that nobody can take away from me.
Starting point is 00:30:18 And with all of the chaos that I experienced in my marriage with the separation and moving out and then moving back in, and then when we knew we were getting divorced, like, later in the year of 23, then I was like, okay, I have to get another place. So I got a place. But then we decided, actually, no, I'm not going to move out. So then I lost all the money on that place.
Starting point is 00:30:40 Like, just so much money. And then we're like, oh, no, actually, we are getting divorced. So then I had to get another place. It was so destabilizing. And I think people think big fucking deal. We had money. Yeah, the resources can make the circumstances maybe a little bit easier, but like not the emotional piece of it.
Starting point is 00:30:58 And it was so destabilizing, always feeling like if something went awry, like I had to leave. And he wasn't helping with that, by the way. So I think, like, what my house represented was stability and just something that's, like, mine. I don't know. We just never really thought, like, oh, what are we going to do, like, when the house is done? We're not going to, like, then move out and be like, okay, see ya. So we're figuring it out. I think we're going to kind of go back and forth a little bit for now. But okay, I'm going to now get to the questions that I had here. Well, since I'm kind of talking
Starting point is 00:31:40 about relationships, I did get a bunch of relationship questions. If you haven't listened to my episode with Alyssa Lynch, go back and listen to last Wednesday's episode because we get very deep into relationships and something that people always ask me. is leaving a relationship with a good person, which I call the good person dilemma, which I think so many people experience. And I think I talked about it in that episode. That was the hardest thing I ever went through. I've talked about it so much. And I've shared about it on podcasts, especially around the time that I got divorced, but I know that I have a lot of new listeners since then. So I will say, like, that fear of letting a good person go kept me in the wrong
Starting point is 00:32:24 relationship longer than I had to be in that relationship. But I don't regret it because I really feel like I and we tried everything to make that marriage work. And I feel like we didn't leave any stone unturned. And as a result, I don't have any like regrets or any doubts or anything like that now being two and a half, three, almost, I don't know. I don't know how long it's been, whatever, years out of it. But I think that it's something that so many people struggle with is like being in a relationship with a good person. I would just say as somebody who let fear dictate my life, my entire life, it's what kept me in my addiction. It kept me in relationships too long prior to my marriage. It probably kept me in my marriage too long. And I think
Starting point is 00:33:18 he would say the same thing. We were afraid of letting each other go because we loved each other and I was a good person, you was a good person, but it just wasn't the right fit. I think the action is not as hard as living in the fear. That's my experience, you know, and I've shared this before. My friend Harley, when I was going through that, it was like, you're stuck in limbo. You're standing at the edge of a cliff looking down, which is terrifying, you know. You're imagining all of the what-ifs. What if I don't meet anybody?
Starting point is 00:33:47 What if there's no good people left? What if I'm alone forever? Fill in the blank. when I finally took the action, it wasn't scary. That's not comfortable. Once you're taking action, then you're moving, you know, and you're finding solutions and all of that. And when you're just frozen and I know that feeling of constant doubt, constant questioning,
Starting point is 00:34:13 constant second guessing, constantly feeling like you're not getting your needs met, wondering if your needs are valid, wondering if you're crazy, rationalizing with yourself. I did all of that. I was like, well, am I just being selfish that I want my emotional needs met or my emotional needs too much? I can say now being in a relationship where it's like very effortless that if you're having all those thoughts all the time, I think it's normal to have that sometimes. But when you're constantly feeling like when you just have that truth, I feel like we know. I feel like we know. And then we look for like a million different signs when we've already been given 999,000. We keep trying to find a different answer and distracting and all of that. And it's like you just can't escape the truth. So if you're in that situation, I would just encourage you to be brave. And I truly think it's better to be single than to be in the wrong relationship. What am I doing less of beauty wise than I was five years ago? Everything. literally everything. I was doing the most for sure five years ago. I mean, you guys know,
Starting point is 00:35:29 I don't have to tell you. I've talked about it so many times. Botox every three months. Five years ago was 2021. So I had gotten fat transfer. So I don't think I was really doing filler anymore. But like, definitely I was heavy on the Botox appointments. And some lasers and, I don't know. Maybe not five years ago. Maybe like seven years ago I was doing the most. But I have a way different perspective about it now. And I think that like less is definitely more. Just have to be smarter. Like work smarter, not harder. It's kind of my approach. So what I'm doing now is like really trying to just take care of my skin. That's the main thing. People have asked me in this Q&A too, like what treatments do I have planned on the horizon? Am I going to go to Korea?
Starting point is 00:36:21 Am I doing Zurf? Am I doing this? I'm like, no. Like, at least not right now. I can always change in my mind. I'm sure I will. But I feel like right now I'm at that age where it's like, could I do something now? My eyebrows aren't even. Like, could I fix that? This one, they're cousins. Like, this one is, it's always been that my whole life, right? Could they like lift that? I don't know. I had a brow lift what, nine years ago now. I think you get about 10 years out of it. Could I do that short? Like, am I going to? No. I am so much more scared now of surgery than I was 10 years ago. I think really the Botox thing, like it was like scared straight, you know, those programs that they do. And, and I think just seeing bad surgery. Like, I've seen a lot of bad surgery lately. And I try not to
Starting point is 00:37:13 judge. And it's not judging the person, especially men. Like, I'm seeing a lot of bad male surgery. And we always make it the patient's fault. I saw a male celebrity on like just Jared or something the other day. I'll tell you. Did you see? He looks like, what was that like horror movie? A little like the saw face, you know, the saw thing. Look, I know like surgery.
Starting point is 00:37:41 There's swelling. It takes time for things to settle and whatnot. People use this example all the time. Like Bradley Cooper. I think he looks better now a little bit. But the comments and the commentary around it, even these like gross doctors on social media making clickbaity videos about it and talking about like how botched they look as though it's their fault. And I know I've said this before. But like you are putting yourself in somebody else's hands.
Starting point is 00:38:13 You're putting your face and your life in someone else's hands in those situations. And you're expecting to get the best outcome. And like, especially with these people who are on camera and like public figures, like they don't want that. They want subtle. They want refined. They want imperceptible. You know what I mean? And then they get these outcomes that are not that. And then it's like a judgment on their characters though that's what they wanted. I don't know. I just think that's like horrible. But yeah, like all of that has definitely scared me. What I'm doing. less of beauty-wise than I was five years ago is like all of that and like thinking about what can I do next. And that's just the reality of it when you get into that cycle or if you have one thing and it goes well and you like the outcome, I think you naturally are going to see something else that you can fix. Not even from a place of insecurity. But like we see people go down this slippery slope all the time. So I really don't have anything that I'm like planning on doing, like at all. Something that a lot of experts have talked about on my show is that women are not
Starting point is 00:39:37 just small men. Our hormones shift throughout the month. So it never really made sense to me that most supplements are exactly the same every single day. And this is why I'm so intrigued by the cycle routine from daily basis. Instead of one, formula all month long. It has two. It has replenish for the first half of your cycle, which helps replace nutrients loss during menstruation and supports energy. And then they have balance for the second half, which supports mood, gut health, and your body's inflammatory response. It just aligns with how our bodies actually work. I also appreciate that it's OBGYN formulated, third-party tested, and uses bioavailable forms of nutrients. It's one stick pack a day, so it actually
Starting point is 00:40:20 simplified my routine instead of adding another handful of pills. And what I have personally noticed is subtle but meaningful. I really struggle, especially in the second half of my cycle, because I deal with MCAS and histamine issues, which are heavily influenced by hormones. So things can get really erratic. And I really feel like my energy is steadier throughout the month. I don't get those same crazy mood fluctuations leading up to my period. I have less insomnia and anxiety. and things just feel calmer. It's nothing dramatic. It's just like I feel more like myself, which is exactly what I want from a supplement. So if you've been curious, they are giving my listeners a special offer. You can get 30% off your first month with the code well at daily basislife.com
Starting point is 00:41:07 or go directly to daily basislife.com slash well. That's code well at daily basislife.com or daily basislife.com slash well for 30% off. there is a big difference between feeling stimulated and actually having energy. You can have your coffee or your macha, you can eat well, work out consistently, but underneath all of that, your cells still have to produce the energy that your body runs on. And that is what made me really interested in mitopure gummies from Timeline. They are powered by Eurolithin A, the only clinically proven form shown in human studies to help renew mitochondrial function. So mitochondria are essentially yourselves power plants and supporting them is one of those foundational things that
Starting point is 00:41:54 becomes increasingly important with age. What I like is that this isn't another complicated protocol. I can just keep the gummies next to my macha. So it's become an automatic part of my morning. Two gummies and that is it. I am definitely less interested in quick fixes these days and much more interested in the habits that will support me for years to come. And especially when it comes to things like caffeine. I feel like my need for it gets greater as I get older. So I would love to be supporting my body at the foundation instead of just slapping a band-aid on it. And this is one of those habits, something that is working underneath everything else that I'm already doing. So support yourselves and how you age with mitopure gummies from Timeline. Visit Timeline.com slash well 20 to get up to
Starting point is 00:42:41 39% off your mitopear gummies. That's timeline.com slash well 20. Have you ever notice that sometimes another cup of coffee or matcha doesn't actually make you feel more energized. It just makes you feel more caffeinated. I started paying attention to that because there were definitely afternoons where I would reach for more caffeine, only to feel wired and anxious for a little while and then crash later. So what I love about elements new lemonade iced tea is that it approaches caffeine differently. Instead of isolated caffeine, it uses a full black tea extract. So the caffeine naturally comes bundled with compounds like L-thenin and polyphenols. That gives it a much steadier feel for me, less of a spike, less of a crash. It also includes elements electrolyte
Starting point is 00:43:29 formula with sodium, potassium, and magnesium, which I already love for hydration. I think we forget that our bodies actually produce energy through processes that rely on electrolytes. So if you're depleted, another coffee isn't necessarily solving that problem. So I've been reaching for this in the afternoon when I want to stay focused without feeling overstimulated. It has that refreshing iced tea taste for summer, but I finish it feeling clear and productive instead of counting down until the caffeine wears off. And right now, you can get a free eight-count sample pack of elements most popular drink mix flavors with any purchase at drink element.com slash well. It's a great way to try the lemonade iced tea along with some of their electrolyte flavors
Starting point is 00:44:11 and find your favorite. Again, that's drinkelement.com slash well. If you are in a time where you are traveling a lot or you can't necessarily get a trainer or go to classes, then I have a platform that is actually amazing, which is Obay Fitness. I've especially loved their yoga sculpt and Pilates classes. I throw in some strength workouts sometimes if I want a little more structure in my routine. But what I really like about it is that it's designed for real life. So Obay Fitness is a digital fitness platform. It gives you structured workout programs and expert-led classes designed to help you stay consistent and see real results. It's built for real life with effective workouts that you can do anywhere in as little as 10 minutes. And that's something that I love
Starting point is 00:44:54 so much about the platform. It's really customizable. You can search by what equipment you have on hand. You can search by how much time you have. There are so many different options and they have everything in one place. Strength training, Pilates, cardio, recovery, mobility. So whether your goal is building strength, improving body composition, increasing energy, or just moving more consistently. There's something that fits into your lifestyle. I also think it's great for people with busy schedules or who travel a lot because you can genuinely do it anywhere and still stay on track. The workouts are efficient.
Starting point is 00:45:25 The instructors guide progression and form really well. And the structured programs remove so much of the guestwork that normally makes people fall off with fitness routines. So try obey fitness free for 30 days at obaFitness.com with the code well. that's obeyfitness.com, obefeitness.com, and the code as well for your free 30-day trial. What's a beauty and security I've mostly let go of? I never felt like I was insecure, but now that I have a different perspective, I can look back and see how when I was in that cycle, I was seeing areas for constant improvement. I remember that summer of 2023, I was Botox to the gods.
Starting point is 00:46:08 and I was like thinking about getting a brow lift. And I look back and I'm like, my brows were fucking lifted to the heavens from the Botox because I was doing a lot of Botox. And I mean, you guys know, I've done it a couple times, but not like I was doing it then. Like not even enough to freeze anything or really like lift anything. If anything, it's just like softened the movement a tiny bit. That's like the amount that I've done. But yeah, I don't feel like I was, I had a beautiful. beauty insecurity, but I had things that I was seeing that I could improve that I don't think
Starting point is 00:46:44 need improvement anymore. If I could only keep three beauty treatments, what would they be? Facials. I think everyone should be getting like regular facials. And this is coming from somebody who is a bi-yearly facial person usually. Like I never go because I don't have time. But now I'm like making it a point. So I would say facials, lasers. And you guys are going to give me so much heat for this, but I would say Botox. That's like a general. I'm not promoting it. Okay.
Starting point is 00:47:24 Anti-Botox people. And I'm not flip-flopping because I was never against it. I was traumatized for sure. I didn't know that what happened could happen for overall, like maintenance of the skin. it helps to soften the movement over time. However, saying that, there are people who I follow. Obviously, Olga, Natural Faced Bible. She is dedicated to taking care of like the underlying tissue, the fascia, whatever, taping.
Starting point is 00:48:07 I look at like RIP, noise skin care. I was doing like a guasha video of hers this morning, actually. She was dedicated to it. She had beautiful skin. A lot of it is genetic too. I follow a woman who does like TCM and acupuncture and she does like acupressure and there are things that you can do. And I'm sure that like there is so much validity to that.
Starting point is 00:48:35 You have to dedicate the time. And I just think like, I, I, I, hope they come up with something. I keep hearing, like, everybody was saying, oh, they're coming up with a different toxin or a different Botox, like a better Botox or something or an alternative. And then it just turned out to be, what is it called? I don't remember what it is, but it's botulinum toxin B. I'm like, that's the same fucking thing. It's a different protein structure or something. It's still botulinum toxin. Like, what are we doing? And trust me, when I was like in the thick of it, I was researching other things.
Starting point is 00:49:16 There was this one doctor in Northern California who has like a laser thing. I think it was only approved for like the glabeller like this here for like 11s maybe. But it was basically like a laser. I don't remember if it was like a heat or like a cryo thing, but it would basically like freeze that muscle or something. But like if it was actually something, allergen or like, yeah, allergen is the biggest one. I don't remember who owns like ZMN, the other ones.
Starting point is 00:49:44 They would have bought that device like ASAP, gotten it off the market. You know what I mean? Like if there was, if that actually worked. Okay. So that's like my defensive answer just because I know I'm going to get blowback. But I just still like, and this was another question, do I still face tape? Yes. Because I still like, I can't really right now.
Starting point is 00:50:08 But like I think it really helps to prevent. creasing and it does prevent movement for me in my forehead at night. I do notice a difference. I still guasha. Obviously, don't guasha right after you got Botox. I would probably not do it for like a month. I do my metacube thing, like the microcurrent. I do all the things. But I just feel like it works. Like it sucks. It works. But it's, but it's really not. But it's really not. I feel like it's not working as well anymore. And I see a lot of people saying that. They're not getting more than a month out of it, which is interesting.
Starting point is 00:50:52 But anyway, okay. Somebody said mixed reviews for facial fat transfer. Some say it lasts. Others say it doesn't. How is mine? I don't think mine has gone away at all in five years. I know it's different for everybody, but mine is like exactly the same. I look back at pictures from right after I had it done and my face looks the exact same.
Starting point is 00:51:16 So someone said, did I do some filler under my eyes or some treatment? No. No. I did filler under my eyes before I got fat five years ago. And I think that was like a reason why I ended up having to do fat because it migrated. And so I had hollowness, but then like puffiness along the ridge. And then we had to dissolve it. and then that can cause issues. So no, I don't fuck with filler at all, at all, but especially
Starting point is 00:51:46 around my eyes. But that's not to say it can't be done well. I think in the right hands, like a little bit can be okay, but I don't do that. I'm just seeing if there's anything else. Where is this? Okay. Focus area. Somebody asked, how do I deal with dating a younger man and aging together on different timelines? I'm like, do you think my boyfriend's younger than me? I'm trying to understand. I'm like, do you mean younger than my ex-husband? But like he's now, like, he's still 16 years older than me.
Starting point is 00:52:27 He's going to love this. By the way, I was on the phone with him last night and he's in Hawaii because he's checking on like house stuff. And he was at a restaurant and he ordered a drink. She never drinks. And they asked him for his ID. And he was like, babe, they just asked me. I was like, I know I heard.
Starting point is 00:52:47 Congratulations. I'm sure it's like legally. They have to do that. Yeah. How do I deal with dating a younger man and aging together on different timelines? Do you think she meant younger than younger than my ex-husband? Like dating someone that's younger than your ex-husband. No.
Starting point is 00:53:06 No. He was dating. Younger than me? Younger than you. Listen. Yeah. I know he looks young. You know what?
Starting point is 00:53:27 He has so much stress in his life. But his personality and his outlook is like in the most optimistic. to where I'm like, you need to be studied. Like, I don't understand. Even yesterday morning, like, he left his phone on the bed when he was taking a shower. And it was like, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, then ringing, then ding, ding, at like, 7 a.m. Like, like, work.
Starting point is 00:53:57 And it's like that all day. He, like, takes care of so many people. He does so. And he's like, the happiest, like, just lets it all roll off him. So he's not younger. than me. He's actually over a decade older than me. So I don't know what it would be like dating a younger man. But we are aging together on different timelines because he's older than me. But he does look very young. He's got great skin, tons of collagen. But I don't really feel like there's that much
Starting point is 00:54:31 of an age difference. Like, I know I always said that with my ex, but then it was like we were in very different places in our lives and he was a lot older than me. My boyfriend now is like he looks, I get it. He looks like around my age. And we like share the exact same lifestyle and social life and he's got tons of energy. And we're kind of a little bit in different places and that he's going to retire like from his main job probably soonish. And I'm not. Like I'm very much in like the thick of it with my career and building and all of that. But he's like my biggest supporter. And he just wants to like travel and stuff. And so do I. And come with me and my work trips. So yeah. Okay. Anyway, I thought that was funny. Okay. We can just do what's in my
Starting point is 00:55:21 bag. I don't have to do rapid fire. Right. Or should I do them? I'll just read them out loud and see if I can even answer it. What's one beauty treatment? Everybody loves that I'll never do again. I don't know if everybody loves it. But I would say like radio frequency. micrneedling I would never do again. Maybe on my body where I have more collagen and fat, but not on my face. I would never touch my face with one of those again. But I feel like people are kind of moving on from that a little bit. What's the most high maintenance thing about me? Oh my God. I don't even know how to answer that. The most high maintenance thing about me, maybe it's like, I don't know. I don't think I've I mean, that's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:56:06 Like, I have some non-negotiations. I'm like, the way I travel. Is that what you were thinking? No. I'm not in 58F or whatever. No. I'm pretty high maintenance. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:23 I have some rules around, like, my boyfriend knows, like, no flights before 8 a.m. And, yeah, this should be a question for him because he's, like, luckily he has a sister and a mom and nieces who are like like me and so nothing is high maintenance to him maybe the way I travel is like one of them even for work but my philosophy is well I mean this totally applies to work trips like I would rather be comfortable and refreshed and just and comfortable like there are things that I will pay for convenience and travel is one of them like you're driving me to the plane and like picking me up on the plane like I love that shit I love it pick me up on the plane drive me to my driver get the bags put them in the car of the driver and send
Starting point is 00:57:18 me off I don't want to go inside the airport oh no no I do it a lot now with him and that's not even like people just don't know that you can do that like you can do it for like 300 bucks if you're on like American or Delta, you just have to know who to call. What else? And just like hotels and stuff. But I will say, like in St.ropay, we're not staying in like the Ritzy Glitzy hotels. We stay in this like kind of like a hidden gem, very authentic, French, quaint, like, gorgeous, but like kind of rustic. And like, we're friends with the owner now.
Starting point is 00:57:56 And you're like barefoot at breakfast. Like a lot of the hotels there, I don't like it because I don't want to be on when I'm on vacation. I don't want to have to dress for breakfast in fucking poochie. Like, no, kill me. There's nothing I would rather, I would just go home. Like, I don't want to do that. And I feel like so many of those hotels in anywhere, but like especially places like Santa St. Trape, St. Bart's, like, whatever.
Starting point is 00:58:25 All the places that people go, like, there are some where it's like you go. and it's like see and be seen. And I'm like, I don't want to see. And I don't want to be seen. Like, yeah, we'll make plans and like go out and go to dinners. We can go to those places and see people, whatever. But like, I want to be comfortable. I want to roll out of bed. I know makeup on. Walk out of my room to our table outside, barefoot, like, relaxing, like vacation. I don't know. I just don't find it relaxing when you're like in those. environments. But yeah, okay. God, I digress a lot. A wellness rule that I break all the time, literally all of them. All of them. Like there is not one quote unquote wellness thing that I do
Starting point is 00:59:14 perfectly or every single day or anything like that. Like, I don't know. I don't even know, like, what's our rule? I don't have any rules. Okay. Somebody asked me what's in my bag. Okay, here's the bag. Mints. Gum. Foreign gum. That was so my ears didn't pop on the plane when I was scared. Claw clip.
Starting point is 00:59:42 Lip liner. This is, oh, this one's so good. Kylie Cosmetics. Comes naturally. Great shade. Dior lip oil. Urinei forte lip oil or lip biopeptide lip treatment. my favorite. Oh my God. Westman Italia lip bomb. I have my card case, very beat up that I need a new one.
Starting point is 01:00:12 I have May Lindstrom. Have you ever smelled this? Oh my God. The blue cocoon. It's like a bomb to oil. Oh my God. It's just the smell. It's so good. I use it on my face. but I use it like on my hands sometimes during the day and just like as a little highlight sometimes. I have color science, cheek and lip SPF, 50 mineral. I have clear eyes because my eyes get very red and puffy all the time. And I have a sample, a lab sample that I'm testing. And that's it, a sticky note. That's what's in my bag.
