Starting point is 00:00:00 I have a theory. Yeah. If you're open to it. Yes. It might be that you rented it some bad apples, but it also might be that 20-year-old lime beard tray did not hit for lesbians. I know. I know.
Starting point is 00:00:12 40-year-old liberal genius tray does you know. Yes. I know. But in my head. They're the liberal rednecks. They like cornbread but sex. They care way too much, but don't give a thud. They're the.
Starting point is 00:00:30 They have a redneck that makes some people upset But they got three big old dicks that you can suck Here we are. We are. Buddy, what's you sipping on over there? Does this do anything for you? Routine shake. What is that?
Starting point is 00:00:47 The sound of the ice. Yeah, oh, I love the sound of the ice. Yeah, I do too. That hits for me. I'm a big ice man. I don't know if we're about to re-litigate something, but you came to my house once at California and sort of roasted me a little bit for something about ice.
Starting point is 00:01:04 I was too into ice or I was too on top of ice or something. And I would like to. I remember you being like, you're like, why you just, you have, you just keep, I had like two. We had, we drank whiskey or something and I had like big blocks of ice or some shit like that. And that's fair enough. But you were like, you just have ice like that. And I was like, oh, I stay in ice. I keep ice.
Starting point is 00:01:26 And I remember. maybe you was just on one a little bit and you was just grasping for something to shit on me for there's but i remember you trying to like make that a thing which i was surprised by because i was like does you because i'm sad not here for you yeah ice don't hear for you what like you know because i don't be nowhere without ice if i'm at a place where it ain't ice i go get ice and bring it back to that place well first off i'd like to i'd like to apologize for past me. Secondly, I'd like to say your assertion that it was me grasping at straws is probably 100% correct, but I would also like to say that knowing me and knowing that time of me,
Starting point is 00:02:11 it was probably coming from jealousy or just a total ignorance because, you know, during that period of my time, which is most of the time you knew me, which is when I was living in my grandma, my old house, didn't have an ice maker, didn't have none of that shit. And so it just wasn't in my life. And I think I just went a long time without ice. And so I was like, yeah, whatever, drinks get cold enough in the fridge. But now, dude, like, I'm, so is this what, it was a thing, man. I guess it was. It was a thing for you at the time. You thought it was odd that other people would prioritize ice because you were like. Yeah, which is so stupid, which is so stupid because now I could not be more the other way.
Starting point is 00:02:54 Like could not be more the other way. Matter of fact, it's funny you say this. I almost, before you brought that up, was thing about telling you, our ice machine broke, like on our fridge or whatever, and we went, this has been like almost a year ago at this point, and we temporarily went back to just the trays. And dude, like, I was like, God, this is going to suck.
Starting point is 00:03:19 I fucking love it. I love the trays. Like, I actually, I genuinely love the, like, the routine of it or the, like, I just, I like it. And I'm constantly filling them up and I just enjoy it and they're big old cubes. And like, yeah, I could not be further on your team. Drew, we're talking about ice. How ice hits for us, Drew, we love to. Ice hits for us.
Starting point is 00:03:44 We're both big fans of ice. Yeah. Where are you at on ice? What did they do to port one of your mother-in-laws? but what's going on? No, we really were talking about how ice hits for us, but cubes of frozen water. That's where we're at on this week's episode.
Starting point is 00:03:59 We're excelling the virtues of ice cubes. I have a bit about that. Yeah. We're at an age where the weather's so hot, we're talking about ice hitting for us. Yep. Yeah, I don't know if I'm into that. I have a kind of, I say a bit,
Starting point is 00:04:19 but it's not really a bit so much is just me telling the audience about a thing that actually did happen. But I felt that really happened. The ice thing? Yeah. Yeah. You can ask Tushar. Dude,
Starting point is 00:04:31 it was, it was too, me. I haven't seen this bit. Tell me. It's, it's basically what me and you just. Before you tell it,
Starting point is 00:04:38 I believe you, but I thought it was pretty cleverly contrived. And I thought, oh, like half this. What? No, Craig can't lie.
Starting point is 00:04:52 Do you mean the, if you mean contrived in a way to make it work where I try not to give it away or what, I have to like sort of, I definitely had to find a way to kind of navigate that where it would work as a story on stage without ruining it early. Yeah. But the thing itself happened pretty much the way I tell it, basically. No, I thought you made all of it up. I thought something else happened that wasn't topical. Who knows what I mean? Like, you know, what I mean? Like, you. you, well, you'll need to give some more context before we can even have the combo. So, Corey, just meet the last time, maybe not the last time, maybe the time before I don't remember that I was, yeah, it must have been the time before because Tushar still lived there. I was in New York, Tuchar lived there. He went with me up to Connecticut and the suburbs to do a show with me at the New York Comedy Club up there. And on the train up there, I was bitching about the, me and Katie and the boys were with me. We were staying at this hotel in Midtown Manhattan. It was like the Millennium Hilton is what it was. called. It's like a high-rise hotel in Midtown. You know, it's not the fucking four seasons or whatever, but it's like supposed to be pretty nice at least. The view and everything was crazy.
Starting point is 00:06:04 Let me guess. Their sundry sucked. They basically didn't even have one. But what happened is I got back from a show the previous night or something. And the bar that was supposed to be open in the lobby, it was closed with no reason or no given reason or explanation. They also had. had a little sundry down there that was more like a mini bodega, but it also was closed for no, no given reason. And they didn't have, and this is the part that I can't really say this part because I don't know what other word to use besides ice machines, but they didn't have any ice machines anywhere in the building. Yeah, right? And so I was just saying, it's wild how, how. It's like Corey knew kind of how you ended up in this Larry David, Larry the cable
Starting point is 00:06:53 guy, David situation. Right. I just like, that's crazy. But before, I was like annoyed to the derailed your store, but he actually set it up. He actually set it up. Right. Yeah. Before, uh, before Drew got here, Corey, I told you, I said, if I'm ever in a place where there isn't ice, I go and get ice, right?
Starting point is 00:07:15 And I'm, so I'm saying I get back to this hotel in Midtown at like 11-ish at night or whatever, and I can't get ice anywhere. And it drove me into a fucking rage, right? the next day on the subway, I'm telling Tushar this. Very loudly. And very loud, the way we do, I'm very loud, animated, whatever. And he's like, he's not, he's like no selling it. He seems like his face looks weird to me. I'm like, what the fuck is wrong with him?
Starting point is 00:07:43 Just like, I get whatever. Maybe this is a little boring or what, but he's like, he's acting fucking weird. Right. And I totally oblivive it. And when we got off the train, I was like, what the fuck? And he told me, or he pointed out to me, he was like, dude, he's like, I know, I know you, I know what you're doing, whatever. He was like, but it's just, I mean, you were on that train just screaming about ice over and
Starting point is 00:08:06 over and about how, like, you know, you're sorry, but ice hits for you. You just need, you like ice. You always liked ice, all this shit. And it's like, and it never occurred to me at all until we got off of there. And it didn't occur to Tushar to tell you to shut the fuck up either. No, it was, yeah, hitting for him in the moment. But, B-way, no, that really happened that way. But, yes, the way I tell it on stage, obviously, I have to be kind of careful about it or else it'll give it away, like, very quickly.
Starting point is 00:08:31 And I feel like it doesn't the way I do it right now. But the other side of that is it's like, that payoff has to really land because, you know what I mean? It's like a stretched out. It's kind of a long way to go. Yeah, yeah, for sure. But it, as of now is- All my bullshit is like that, unfortunately. It does get a pretty big pop when I finally get to it. but anyway, I wanted to tell y'all another story that has nothing to do with that at all.
Starting point is 00:08:58 I kind of text you all about it last night, but I'm leading somewhere. I'm taking a long time. It'll be 20 minutes before I arrive at the point. Can't what. I was at Dodgers Stadium last night with Irvine and Vatterott and Caleb and buddy Jim the B. And we were Dodgers Royals game. Okay, it's Max Muncie Bumblehead night. They gave away Max Muncie bobbleheads.
Starting point is 00:09:22 It's like... It is, I think, the bottom of the fifth, is the bottom of the fifth or the bottom of the six, and Dodgers are losing three to two. By the way, the Dodgers are like one and nine in their last ten games. They're in a huge slump right now. They're down three to two, bottom of the six.
Starting point is 00:09:38 Bases are loaded with two outs, and Max Muncie comes up to bat on his bobblehead night. Everybody's like, you know, fist pumping the bobbleheads in the air and chanting like Muncie, Muncie, Muncie, whatever. He cranks his bases clear. tearing triple down the right field line right it was scored a double but whatever he reached third base i don't get how baseball stats work but that you know drove in three runs but put the dodgers up five to three fucking there's no roof on the stadium but if there was it would have
Starting point is 00:10:05 gone into orbit people people losing their fucking minds right um after Tommy edmund like grounds out after that to end the ending but still like it's pretty hype in there we're going into the top of the next inning scoo ball terrick scoo ball the huge free agent pitcher they just signed and everybody hates. Yeah. He started last night. They hate that y'all have him. They hate the Dodgers for signing him, yes.
Starting point is 00:10:28 He started last night. He gets pulled to the top of the six for the first time. It's like, who's coming out of the bullpen? What are they going to do? And they bring out this kid Jack Flaherty. Is it Flaherty? Fuck. No, that's not right.
Starting point is 00:10:39 Anyway, bring in this middle reliever, and they do walkout music for pitchers, right? So they do start flashing the lights and shit, and they play his music. And it sounds at first like it's just, one last breath by Creed, right? Yeah, Drew walks off. One last breath by Creed, right? Yeah. Then, as it's getting towards the chorus, a like,
Starting point is 00:11:05 you can heat, I don't, I don't speak this language, but you can tell that, it starts, you can tell that, like, a beat, bass is about to be dropped. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't know how to say that any different, but the base is not yet dropped. Yeah. You can tell you like, oh, shit, the bass is about to drop.
Starting point is 00:11:21 It's dynamic. It's dynamic. Your brain can tell when there's, when there's nothing that something is about to be. And it's like, and I've literally screaming. I'm with this group of five elder millennial white dudes, you know. And I was like, I was like, dude, a fucking dubstep remix of Creed. Yeah. You know, and like everybody's just scream for her, home and now, you know, like,
Starting point is 00:11:43 I know, like, sure loved it. And it was like, the hype was just through the roof. Yeah. I can't imagine. It was insane. And this dude bless his heart. His pitcher comes out there. And on his very first pitch, he gives up a single.
Starting point is 00:11:56 And on his second pitch, he gives up a two-run homer to surrender the lead. Right after that. It just utter deflation, like, all the way back down. And unfortunately, that song also hit for the Kansas City Royals, it seems. But so it just got me to think about how insane it is. I mean, sports, period, but sports at like that level, you know, like being that guy. And of course it got me to think Because it's like
Starting point is 00:12:21 The two things back to back Like Max Muncie Max Muncie What he did I can't fathom That kind of fucking But then on the other hand The pitcher
Starting point is 00:12:32 Yeah What he did He can't sleep And it's like The highs isn't It's got to be And it's why some of those dudes Have to be
Starting point is 00:12:38 They're like psychopathic Or the whole like Ice Water in your brains or whatever Because I don't know how you like Operate psychologically Going through that roller coaster All the fucking time because it's got to be fucking nuts.
Starting point is 00:12:50 There's no... You have a bad show in Des Moines. That's what I was about to say. You had a bad show in Des Moines. Who gets the fuck? I was thinking about... The only thing I could think of is like Joe Coy versus Nikki Glazer
Starting point is 00:13:00 like hosting the Emmys or something. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Do you know what I'm saying? That's the only comp. That's like as close as it comes, I feel like to a comparison you could come up with. For sure.
Starting point is 00:13:09 Even that... Well, what about like... I don't know. What about when you're recording... Recording a robot? What just happened? Like a special. Yeah, and it bombs?
Starting point is 00:13:26 Like, what does it happen? Like, well, but I'm the lead up to it. Isn't the lead up to it similar to like that? You know what I mean? And yes, if it bombs or if it goes well. We can just not put it out, I guess. That's true, but everyone knows, like, what happened with Theo. That's really what I was thinking.
Starting point is 00:13:41 I bet Theo felt worse than that pitcher. The other thing is, at that level, it's a paradox, in my opinion, because you have to, like, care about the game so much to get that good. Correct. But then I think also you've got to remind yourself it's a game and you get another one and you get another one soon and you get another one. And like I think that is a little easier. I tell you what the comp is for me that's crazyer. There's one that's crazier to me and it's surgeons.
Starting point is 00:14:09 Surgeons? Oh, yeah. Right. Surgeons and shit. Yes. Like if it's a type of surgery, hard brain child where they die sometimes and like just like you you fuck up the game sometimes. or you save not just a life, a whole family future because that person didn't die. That to me is the only thing where like you got to put it behind you whether it's good or bad.
Starting point is 00:14:33 Right, yeah, because you can't let that ego, like you can't let that ego take you into the next surgery because then you're like resting on your laurels and you might fuck up thinking you're God, you know. Right. Any of you of your shitty person who doesn't care about the morals of that, you're going to feel super, if you are that person, if you are that person, and if they don't survive the next time, you're going to want to kill yourself. Like, if only care about you, even, which a lot of surgeons do, it's still that there's motivation not to blow it.
Starting point is 00:15:01 No, for sure. I guess the point here is, like, yeah, you just got to be a different breed of cat, like a complete ice water in the veins type person. But yeah, dude, I can't, like, every doctor show you ever watch, there's always going to be, you know, that episode where there's, like, an intern or, like,
Starting point is 00:15:17 a new resident or whatever, where, like, they get there, first kill and the doctor has to be like, yeah, you know, we all go through it, but you blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And I'm just like, I'm watching it going like, yeah, I couldn't. Me personally. And that's not me, that's not me trying to be like, I'm an impasse. So I, like, I don't have that constitution. Like, I would blame myself. Dude, I blame myself for shit that ain't even really that big of a fucking deal and lose sleep over it. Like that? Oh, my God, dog. Like, never again. I had it, I guess, a little bit when I was like,
Starting point is 00:15:51 when I moved up to felonies and like people were going to prison. Right. And to be honest, I'll bet. I'll be honest, I quit. Like, you know, like, like, emotionally it was rough. Getting back to the athletes, there's like a thing that's, it's been showing up on my algorithm where they're talking about sports psychiatrists a lot more in sports psychologists. Like, have you ever seen the one that shows, what's the real hot soccer player, Ronaldo? Cristiano Ronaldo, yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:17 Yeah. Trey's gay. he talks to himself. You can see it on the pitch. And like lip readers, he's saying things like, you're the best to ever do this. There's no reason to doubt yourself. And he's not saying, if you see his face,
Starting point is 00:16:38 he's not like, you're the best to ever do this. It's like very much like self-affirmation. Like, there's no reason to be nervous. You've done this 100 times. You know you're the best. Just do it. I mean, I guess at the top of the top, They either naturally do that or learn to do that, don't you think?
Starting point is 00:16:56 I mean, for sure, dude. Like, they have to. But one thing, like we were saying, Corey, you said, because it's the exact same thought process I went to where you were like, if I bomb in Des Moines, like, whatever. But it still sucks for the record. But I do kind of think, though, at almost every level, that's how it is and it's way better and there's no real comparison.
Starting point is 00:17:16 But I do think at, like, high levels, though, it might be worse in entertainment, Because there might not be a next. Another time. Like you're like, those people. Right. You're like with an athlete, you're like, well, I got it. You know, the next one's coming and I'll get them.
Starting point is 00:17:30 And that's true. And they'll post those stats. But in like entertainment, if you fucking crash and burn spectacularly, they might just send you home forever. That's true. You know, and you don't like sometimes you don't ever get over it. Well, and this is why it's like one of the many reasons why people want to build their own audience. I mean, dude, living in New York, living in L.A.,
Starting point is 00:17:48 there is a version of this at the seller and the store. door and some other places. There's JFL. There are some circumstances of, hey, like in Des Moines, it didn't matter. But tonight can literally make or break your career. That's very true. You might be thinking about this. And I've had small versions of it and not any big ones.
Starting point is 00:18:11 And dude, it can be a real mind fuck. But I can't imagine like doing it on national TV, though. And the sports, too, it's all, it's, it's way more objective. You hit a fucking home run. Right. Right. Triple. You did it.
Starting point is 00:18:25 You did that. Yeah, for sure. And with the sports and stuff being objective, that's why it's always like, you know, when like a people always say shit like, you know, I don't know, Chris Pratt, like he's a, he's a Christian and, you know, maybe he was a Trump supporter or whatever. And they like, I don't understand that. Like, they try to cancel him and blah, blah, blah. But meanwhile, Tom Brady has a maga hat and nobody.
Starting point is 00:18:50 And I'm like, yeah. because with Tom Brady, he's still winning Super Bowls. You know what I'm saying? Like Chris Brin. This whole thing is subjective. Right. We've talked about this before with quarterbacks, and I'm sure our audience loved it.
Starting point is 00:19:03 But it's something I think about a lot. I've made this point to you guys of like, we all know the big dick guy can do no wrong in high school. It's an American trope that he crashes down there or peaked in high school. Yeah. Peyton Manning, Aaron Rogers, Tom Brady they all most of them went through something
Starting point is 00:19:23 a bad season Brady gets benched in college whatever but generally speaking in their life never I didn't really have to come back down to earth like it doesn't surprise me that Aaron Rogers thinks he's smarter than everyone he meets because he was told he was better
Starting point is 00:19:40 than everyone at 15 directly and indirectly like there's a real cultural indirectly being told you're great because you're the quarterback and then if you crash out like Ryan leaf, you end up having to do pills for 10 years to get over that. But if you don't crash out, dude, you just end up in a dark room in the jungle talking about I know more than scientists about bacteria or whatever because, of course you do.
Starting point is 00:20:03 I mean, that's why, like, I don't think he ever thought he was smarter than anybody, but with, like, when people kept being like, I don't understand why Brett Farv can't just walk away. I was like, what do you mean you can't understand? Like, that's all he's ever done in his entire life. And then the best. Right. And been the best. And then, that's hard to walk away from.
Starting point is 00:20:29 Right. It's like asking someone to give up being the king. Right. I'm like, why wouldn't he want to keep doing that as long as humanly pot? Anybody, whatever that thing is, if you can do it, you would want to keep doing it for as long as humanly possible. take want to out of it. What psychologically do you have, what place do you have to get to
Starting point is 00:20:52 to even be able to walk away from me? Even if you did kind of want to, I don't know, man. Not that I feel like, sorry for these guys. No, no, I don't either. And I wasn't even saying, I'm like, I'm not saying Brett Farv shouldn't. I'm not saying any of that,
Starting point is 00:21:09 but like you don't see why he won't. Like, it's crazy to me that you can't see why he won't. What the fuck are you talking about? And here's a dicey one. I've ran this by y'all before, and I'm pretty sure you guys both told me, yeah, well, don't do that on stage, probably. But here's the dicey one inside this world.
Starting point is 00:21:26 Weinstein? I do think that's an extra step for being a black quarterback that doesn't get talked about. I think you have to have a psychotic belief in yourself to be an NFL quarterback that is easier to attain as a white man in America. Right. I think as a young black person in America, regardless of how good you are, you kind of know in the back of your mind this can be taken from me. Of course.
Starting point is 00:21:51 And I, and like, I genuinely think being a Peyton Manning where your dad's rich and all that, it might make you a dick. It might not make you a dickhead. But I do think it's like one barrier removed of it's easier to attain that superhuman level of confidence when one thing you're not worried about is a fat racist iris. taking it from you. Right. Yeah. I mean, we let, like, in order to be the star quarterback, you're going to be a little arrogant, and we just don't let black people be arrogant as much as we let white people
Starting point is 00:22:25 be arrogant. We do, but it has to be receiver style arrogance, which is like slambrillian. It's not like leadership arrogance. I was about to say, they can be arrogant, but they can't tell other people what the fuck to do. You know what I mean? That's changing, obviously, but yeah. I really fully believe that that is an extra.
Starting point is 00:22:42 step in the psychology of being a black quarterback, but it's like, I mean, weird to bring up. I don't think you're, I mean, I don't think you're wrong in terms of it could be just as simple as what we just said of like, it's like they, yeah, they don't, so many people don't want to see black people tell other white people, especially other white people what to do, you know, and like most of the linemen are white, you know what I'm saying? Like, they don't want to see that shit. Well, and the way it manifests itself is you hit a slump. I think there's probably like a feeling of inside the locker room, you kind of feel like true or not, and I'm sure it's true a significant percentage of the time. Yeah, everybody was waiting on me to fuck this up.
Starting point is 00:23:22 Right. Whereas with the white guy, it's like everybody's waiting on me to come back because they know I will. Right. Right. Yeah, that's true. It's like with a, it gets talked about a lot with like female directors in Hollywood. It's like they let a woman have a movie and if she fucks it up, They go, well, women can't direct movie and she doesn't get another chance, whereas, like, a dude's allowed to fail, like, a million times. And, like, same with black, well, quarterbacks, same with all that shit. There's more, too, that analogy, too, with how quarterbacks and how they are and are not allowed to act. Because, like, women, dude, women can't get, women directors cannot get away with acting, like, fucking David Fincher acts or, like, or, like, or any of these, like, on phone terrably or whatever to fuck.
Starting point is 00:24:04 No. Like, like, jerks them all for. I don't know if David Fincher still like that, but I know that, like, you know, the ones that get the reputation for being. really difficult is what they say. If it's a woman, they'd be like, this crazy bitches. Well, yeah,
Starting point is 00:24:15 that's what the movie TAR is about, ain't it? Like, that's what, uh, Oh, maybe, I don't know,
Starting point is 00:24:19 I never watch that. I don't think she's, it's about a woman. Yeah. I don't think she's not, women, women directed movies, because they're not allowed to be dickheads,
Starting point is 00:24:27 so it really hurts the art. You know, she's not, she's not, she makes, she makes, uh, fucking, you know,
Starting point is 00:24:34 movies with guns and shit. I'm, I'm, I'm speaking out of my ass a little bit, I don't think she's a director, but she's some type of something in the arts, and she's, I don't think it's a movie director, but she's a director of some kind. And the whole thing is like, she's insane and a perfectionist and all this. The lady in the movie, you mean, who's a real person, right?
Starting point is 00:24:50 Is she a composer? Yeah, or something like that. The character that Kate Blanchett plays. And anyways, they made like a Twitter account for this character, and I was just reading some of that stuff. And I remember as I was through, I was like, man, she really just comes off as kind of the stuff we accept from, Tarantino. Right.
Starting point is 00:25:09 You know what I mean? Celebrate sometimes. Like, yeah, oh, no. We're like, well, that just happened. I think that was the point. I could be wrong. Yeah. No, no, that's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:25:15 It's like, you know, or like, dude, method acting, you never hear any crazy stories about a woman staying in character and doing all this crazy Daniel Day Lewis shit. Because they kick that bitch off the set. You know what I mean? Well, what's her name from Twilight made that point. Who? Kristen Davis. She had like a interview.
Starting point is 00:25:31 Yes, she did. She's talking about method actors. Like, she's like, you, you can't do that as a woman. people you will not work in this town. I'm sure she's right. But here's my question, to you, to her, to anybody, and it's very sincere, you know, there's my little caveat. I'm a man.
Starting point is 00:25:47 I don't know what it's like, is the goal to let women be cunts or should we stop men from being cunts? No, no, you're right. We should stop men from being cunts. You're right. Yes, I was listening, you know, me and Chow both listening this podcast, what went wrong and it hits for us both, I know, and it's about movie production. And this kind of came up the other day.
Starting point is 00:26:05 And they pointed that out to, they were like, you know, for the record, it's not like women should be allowed. It's more that the men should also not be allowed to treat people like shit. It's not like we're fighting. It does feel like that sometimes, though. There's some people who are fighting for a world where women can treat people like shit just as much as man can. But like, nobody gets me back on my bullshit. It's sometimes I feel like we're fighting for a world where gay people can like live in a gated community and subject the poor around them to, like, the perils of capitalism and say racist stuff.
Starting point is 00:26:38 It very much feels like sometimes we're living in a world where, like, sometimes it feels like the liberal goal is to make it where the white women can act like the white men. Well, I'll say this. It does suck for them, speaking as a white man, like, it does suck for them that they'll never have the opportunity. You know what I mean? Like, obviously we go, no, nobody should be that way.
Starting point is 00:27:02 And men should stop being dicks and all around. It's like, I agree. That is true. But it does suck for all. Like, if, let's say we do get to that point in society where we're on this even keel or whatever, it sucks that white men were the only wins, ones that ever got to experience that dynamic. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:27:19 I think everybody deserves that a little bit. You know, that's kind of shitty. It is funny to take the opposite stance to be like, yeah, well, we had a good millennia run. We're going to pull the ladder up. Let's all be nice to each other. Yeah. Now that we've, that's what I think. But that is kind of what it feels like.
Starting point is 00:27:33 You know what I mean? It's like, no, we did that. sure it didn't work out. Now nobody gets to do it. But like it does. It feels like that for us, dude. And many comedians have touched this, and we've talked about it. It's like, it doesn't suck to be a white man at all.
Starting point is 00:27:44 But I wish that some of my friends would acknowledge it does suck more. It is less cool. Right. Oh, yeah. The version we got is not the version my dad got, like, at all. And the littered men for it. And I think that's good. And I would take that nine days out of 10.
Starting point is 00:28:03 But three days out of the month, I'm be like, I don't know. man. But I would have liked a nice little run, whatever it was they had just to try it on myself, you know. I feel like because you started comedy at 19 in the South, you had an okay run. You just were too young to know that's what you were in the middle of. That's true. I was too young to be able to exploit or know how good I had it. That is very accurate.
Starting point is 00:28:26 Speaking of movies and the way things used to be and stuff, one thing I was thinking about recently because I heard a particular song is like, do they still attempt to do like, Cross-promotional, get a pop star to make a song just for this movie, and that song is a hit when the movie comes out. What's up with what, Toy Story 5? Yeah. So, you have Disney movies. This is a lot more artsy-fartsy, but one of Lucero's biggest songs now is the song Bike Riders from the movie Bike Riders directed by Ben Nichols' brother Jeff Nichols. and I just was listening to it two days ago, so it's weird you bringing that up,
Starting point is 00:29:08 and I thought, people don't do that anymore. Now, obviously, that's a different thing, but Lucero has a weird cult biker gang following, and I feel like, have you seen bike riders? It was an attempt to, like, it was an attempt to, like, comment on masculinity. Right.
Starting point is 00:29:26 Does it hit? Does that movie hit? I liked it a lot. It is, the plot structure is not, Not super classic. It's there. And Austin Butler is really, really good.
Starting point is 00:29:41 Oh, he's in it? I love that, dude. Yeah, is it Catherine Hegel? Is that the lady in that? There's no way. Surely not, dude. It's not. She's not having a woman been dead.
Starting point is 00:29:50 Yeah. Banish, boy. Yeah. But she was kind of not hitting. Yeah, but not. But like not to the degree that so many men have not been hitting. Sure. But she also didn't hit that much.
Starting point is 00:30:02 You know what I mean? It's like, you got to. like Johnny Depp, say what you will, but that motherfucker can play. You know what I mean? I'm an idiot because this is like in my top three hottest swimmer and ever. It's Jody Comer.
Starting point is 00:30:15 Oh, yeah. And then, and she's good. Tom Hardy. That's my dog. That's my dog. I think it might be the best he's ever been. Well, that's funny. See, you soon as you bring him up,
Starting point is 00:30:29 Corey's like, oh, that's my dog. And you're like, oh, my God, he crushed it so hard. He is notoriously one of the best. of the biggest pricks. No, no, no, no, that I didn't. Yes, he is. Yes, he is. Yes, he is.
Starting point is 00:30:39 Is he really? Is he really? Charlize their own, I'm pretty sure, like, did they, like, do it. That's what I was thinking of is Catherine Hocken. I was thinking of Charlie's Theron, not Catherine Hocker. Oh, I did, by the way, I'm not doing a bit right now. I genuinely did not know that.
Starting point is 00:30:53 I think that he is like, I know him and Charlize. That's from Mad Max Fury Road, which is like 10 years ago. They have squashed the beef for sure. And also, he may have, you know, he may have done some salsa. searching and shit in the years since, I don't know. I just know for a while he definitely was one of those, again, en font three, whatever you said. During that, Corey, you didn't know about it because that run he had was in the middle
Starting point is 00:31:18 of everyone being rapists. So the guy who was just kind of a dick over the schedule or whatever didn't make as much headlines. Back to what you were saying. The songs? Yeah, the songs. Maybe it's just because I'm in this world right now. think it happens a lot in kids stuff.
Starting point is 00:31:36 Well, I was going to say, I was going to be like outside of like cartoons, kids, because they're, a lot of times they're musicals, they have stuff. Like, dude, used to action movies. Yeah, they did. Had a song that went with it. You know,
Starting point is 00:31:51 Andrew Lamar did the soundtrack for Black Panther. Oh, it was fire. That was 10 years ago. I wanted to point this out of those. Tos Malone did the Spider-Verse. It was awesome. That was about eight years ago. Well, so Zooto,
Starting point is 00:32:04 Zootopia 2, which just recently came out. Dude, those don't count. Corey's like, okay, cool. But Zootopia 2, though. Well, me,
Starting point is 00:32:14 it just came out, but I wanted to say it for a different reason. There's a new song on there about the zoo or whatever, and Bain fucking loves it, and he dances to it, and it's super cute.
Starting point is 00:32:23 Well, it's been playing in the room, and I've just been, like, half not paying attention. And all I know is like, oh, the person's singing it, it's this young pop star, you know, like young pop.
Starting point is 00:32:33 And I finally started paying attention the other day, it's fucking Shakira. And dude, she looked like there's no part of her that doesn't look like she's a current young pop star. Like, it's the wildest shit. Like, she did not look like an older
Starting point is 00:32:48 pop star just giving it one last go. Like, she looks fucking amazing. And also, the song is a straight bop. Go check it out. It's called Z. The reason she looks so good is she was like seven when Hips Don't Lie came out. What she really? No, I'm just fucking we, dude.
Starting point is 00:33:03 What's that We just talked about this. Aaron Opsky's new one. The whole soundtrack was done by Idols. Yeah, that Austin Butler movie. What is it called? I really like that movie. Caught Stealing.
Starting point is 00:33:17 Caught Stealing. I like that movie. And I'm pretty sure Idols has a song called Caught Stealing. Okay. Because that's an old. The song that I heard of me. No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:33:29 He like, like the music video for whatever the lead single, was related to the movie. This was like, you know, they hit for Aronovsky, so he asked them to do it. Yeah, and Crazy Heart was like 15 years ago now. Let me throw some at you from when we were like 1213, no, dude. 10-11, 12-13. Fucking, my heart will go on by Celine Dion, right?
Starting point is 00:33:54 Chad Proger and saliva. Yes, hero. They say with a hero. Fire, fire, fire, don't want to miss a thing by Aerosmith. That's the one you're saying. And I think about this, actually. That song was everywhere. And smashed.
Starting point is 00:34:08 Iris by Go-Goo Dolls. People forget. See the Angels. People, I think, forget now that that song was even for that. Because that movie don't have staying power the way the rest of these movies do, but that song does. But that song was for that movie. Colossal. When we were younger than that, when we were six, fucking one of the biggest songs of all time.
Starting point is 00:34:24 That's a Houston covering Dolly Parton. Yeah. I will always love for the bodyguard. The bodyguard soundtrack is like the number two selling album of all. I have a theory seal. It used to be such a thing. Like you see it Kiss from a Rose from Batman movie. Like right.
Starting point is 00:34:40 And then the eight Kenny Loggins and the 80s. Oh my God, son. Good Lord. The danger's don't, baby. Yeah. Top Gun. Two of them for one movie. Foot loose, my dog.
Starting point is 00:34:50 It's like, it's crazy. Dude, I have a theory. This is because from the perspective of the music industry, being in your movie will not make this a hit like it used to. Used to the PR machines surrounding the movie, the preview was the equivalent of going viral. Now, it's like from both sides, the music industry is like, no, if my song's going to be a hit, I need to put it out on my socials. Like, it doesn't need to be a part of this delayed whatever with you. And then if you're Darren Aronovsky, it doesn't help you to have, I don't know who's big, Taylor Swift, whatever.
Starting point is 00:35:29 it's like they're a lot more interested in like, no, I'm going to do idols. You know what I mean? And idols is big. Like they open for food fighters, but they have a lot more like cool cachet. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:35:41 with a Swift, I mean, it's going to help in a Toy Story mark. I mean, Toy Story was probably going to do it regardless. But like in that specific market, I think that's okay. But yeah,
Starting point is 00:35:51 you're right. It is different. And Trey, good on you for bringing that up. Because, yeah, I had totally forgotten a lot of those songs specifically being for those action movies and like,
Starting point is 00:36:01 goddamn, what an era. And now I just want to go watch Spider-Man 2, dog. That Chad Kroger's saliva one. Was it saliva or sither? It was, it was Josie, whatever, Josie Scott from. From saliva. That's right.
Starting point is 00:36:13 Chuck Kroger and the lead singer of saliva doing, yeah. Dynamic duo, bro. Yeah. It may not matter, but Tretus got real loud and Corey got quiet on my end. It might just be my end. I don't know if it's a report. No, no, I heard it were echo. I'll fix it in the post.
Starting point is 00:36:25 Here's one you might not know, or maybe everybody does and it's just me. The Breakfast Club, don't you forget about me. That's not just, that song is for that. It was. I always thought that that was like an iconic needle drop. Yeah. But it's not. They made that song for that movie.
Starting point is 00:36:43 So that's another for you. Yeah, it used to be. Speaking of those two, we just talked about Chad Kroger and that song. My senior year, we had a vote for what our class song was going to be. And it was between that song from the breakfast club, which is cliche, but whatever. and photograph by nickelback. Yeah, that checks a little. So, that's her class.
Starting point is 00:37:06 It's way more emblematic of our generation. It is. At the time, I was like, man, God damn it. But now, as a nippleback apologist, I'm like, you're right. At least y'all didn't fall into that fucking vitamin C trap. You remember that the graduation? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:20 I think. You know that's just Tannen and D? Oh, yeah. I mean, yeah, that checks out. So is the Kulio song. I'll see when you get there. And The Hook by Blue Stravel. right that's kind of the point of the hook right isn't it yeah point of the hook for sure yeah
Starting point is 00:37:35 but yeah they don't so we yes we didn't have a class song but we sang that song at graduation the graduation song vitamin c do you remember the one that was before that that was the big one which was the sunscreen song yeah put on your sunscreen or whatever please put so much a song as it was like spoken word over apparently that was an existing poem or spoken word thing that they put over a little beat or whatever. Do y'all remember? I think they read it at a graduation. Yeah. And then Schengen made it into a viral video.
Starting point is 00:38:05 I think you're right. I think you're right. That is what happened. But do y'all, do you remember one of the first things that tried to have was this, I don't want to give any like real clues. We can text about it afterwards. This sort of like kind of executive type dude early on wanted to try to do that with me. Do you all remember that?
Starting point is 00:38:25 I don't. Like early on in the life of well. Red and touring stuff. The idea was like, we'll try to recreate the sunscreen song, but with you as the guy, you doing your thing and we'll put a little beat or a little music under it, make a whole album of those. Yeah. And I was like, I thought like a cocaine left in Hollywood.
Starting point is 00:38:44 Interesting. Okay, okay. I'll show up. Sure. Have you seen this DJ doing Tim Dillon drops? They're not, not cool. Yeah, they're great. Yeah, no, those are, I like those.
Starting point is 00:38:58 That's right. Yeah, dude, we're old and corny. Those are a lot of fun. Right. What about, as we go on. What's that song? We remember. That's the graduation song.
Starting point is 00:39:10 That's vitamin C. Yeah. Oh, no, no, I'm sorry. Here's to the nights. Here's to the nights. Yes, here's the nights we fell out. Yeah. Eve six, yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:20 Are y'all coming to teams? And I was lobbying for Eve six so hard and we got vitamin six. Yeah, Eve six rules. Are you coming to, speaking of corniness? and, you know, middle-aged and dad, are y'all coming to terms with your inevitable corniness in a healthful, healthy way? I've been, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:39:37 I know y'all. Okay, I was about to say, I feel like y'all from back to group here, I've been okay with that for 15 years, I feel like. Yeah, that's true, yeah. Don't bother me at all. I think, I think not. But it's not bothering me.
Starting point is 00:39:58 And what I mean by that is maybe I'm like the NFL quarterback mentality of what I like. I have never like the stuff I liked isn't going to be panned now as like millennial dad shit. Because, and this wasn't because I was trying to be cool, we've talked about this before. Like six years into the Well Red tour, you guys are like, well, sorry that you don't like fucking movies. I'm like, no, I do like fucking movies. I just don't know what the fuck y'all are talking about just because I don't like what y'all like. doesn't mean I don't like anything. But if I bring up what I like, you guys make fun of me.
Starting point is 00:40:33 I've either always been corning or cannot be corny. I don't know which one it is. And I don't mean like because I'm too good for it. I mean, I'm outside of the zeit guys to the point where it's like, yeah, I don't know, dude. You know what I mean? Like I'll never forget that this is a watershed memory for me. I was talking to this movie that still move me more than almost any movie I've ever seen called Mustang. Yeah, I remember this.
Starting point is 00:40:57 severely dark, dark, rape-filled, like, inset-filled, coming of age-tail. But they made the trailer look like the traveling pants. So I told you all about it. Then y'all watched the trailer. I remember. And you were like, I don't. So like, I've always been corny slash. No one's going to be like, I can't believe this guy used to watch Mustang because no one knows what that is.
Starting point is 00:41:23 Does that make sense? Yeah. So what I think is, yeah. I'm corny, but I don't care because my shit hits for me. I think that's, uh, I think that is healthy, frankly. But I don't think I'm corn. That's been your position, Corey, hasn't it? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:38 I know, I'm guilty pleasures because I don't feel guilty about any of them. Exactly. Right. But I don't, but I don't think I'm corny. I am okay with people thinking that I'm corny, but I do not believe in my heart that I am. I actually think I'm cool as fuck. I think what I'm in is cool as fuck. I mean,
Starting point is 00:41:57 think inarguably of the three of us you are the coolest one for certain if like by the by what i know cool means like cigarette denim jacket you know i guess it doesn't mean corny when you say it yeah well corny that's just that's funny and sounded corny what's true like what what why are you why are you what's going through your head right now how you feeling corny or what What are you feeling corny about or whatever? No, like, I still agree with what I said then about, like, amongst y'all. Like, yeah, I like what I like and whatever. Like, it, I don't want to say middle.
Starting point is 00:42:43 It's weird to say, like, oh, middle age creeped up on me because it's like, I mean, I've been here the whole fucking time, you know, but like. Literally, you were 40 at 19 by look. Yeah. We've joked for you. years and years about how, like, we don't know what's going on in the minds of these kids and stuff. And it's, like, always been jokes. And, like, I've always sort of believed it, but, like, it is now just so clear to me. Like, I'm so far beyond, the gap between me and the current
Starting point is 00:43:17 generation is, like, I got no fucking idea what's going on. And every day, not live in fear, I'm not actually scared, but, like, having those moments of, like, Oh, God, when am I about to pat Paul out? You know, like, do I, I'm starting to get that way of like, anytime I see something and I think it's, it's stupid, I'm like, okay, is it though, or you just, you just don't get it? Like, do you just not get it? Do you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:43:44 And I'm like, and that's obviously fine. But in doing that, I'm having to reckon with, like, I'm just, again, I've never felt cool, like the way Drew's cool, but I always. at least knew that I was in tune with what was going on with society, because as a comedian, as you always, like, kind of have to be. But now I'm like, I got no, I got no fucking idea. And I try to catch up and I can't. I'm just, I'm out.
Starting point is 00:44:09 The more you say I'm cool, the more I'm hearing it. So one of the definitions, one of the main definitions of corny is sentimental. I think you've always been charmingly corny, Corey. Thank you, Drew. That means a lot to me. And I mean that. And I mean, I do mean it as a compliment. I think that like being corny to a younger person, if that's what you mean, is none of my business but also inevitable. I think it's like that. Like, yes, they feel that way. I haven't thought about it and won't. And the more you try not to be, the worse it actually gets. That's another thing too. Like, it's so much. That's actual corny. That's not corny according to them. If you start worrying about it, that's corny important to ever. Michael Scott. Like, that's Michael Scott, and you can't do that shit.
Starting point is 00:45:02 But yes, I am probably sentimental to a fault human being. So if that's what corniness is, then I'll take it. But if you mean cross-generational cornyness, that's inevitable. Honestly, it's almost weird when someone can hang out with them and they don't think they're corny. It is weird. That's what I'm saying. Yeah, I just kind of think you're immature. Yet, what I was going to say, like, to me, right, that I guess that's sort of what I thought you meant.
Starting point is 00:45:27 and that's why I've always kind of been fine, because it is, you know, like you said, it is inevitable. You can try, but it ain't going to work. And even if it is kind of working, it's still sort of weird. You know what I mean? It's a version of that dude that in the small town like Salina, the guy that graduated six years ago still rides around. Wooderson.
Starting point is 00:45:45 It's like a different version of Wooderson kind of. Yeah, and Wooderson plays a lot differently when you watch it as an adult. Absolutely. Yeah. I saw that. Didn't know what I was 17, whatever. I was like, this is the coolest dude on the earth. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:56 Watch it now. you get the intent of the character or whatever, you know. It's crazy, dude. Right. But it's so funny because I thought he was lame then and I am the closest to him now, undeniably of the three of us. Like, undeniably of the three of us, I have the most closest to Wooderson moments. And I then was like, that guy's fucking stupid.
Starting point is 00:46:20 What do you mean just because you sometimes hang out with your young nephews? No, I think what I mean is so there's like a crew that. that I like to go to festivals with, and the crew that I go with, quote unquote, are all like 33 to 43, right? And I'm on the top end. Right, yeah, yeah. But the 33 year olds have younger friends.
Starting point is 00:46:39 Right, yeah. And so I could see anyone perceiving it as me trying to hang out with 25, but here's the truth. I'm not, I'm constantly trying to get away from them at the festival and having moments with Brian where I'm looking at the 25 year old and hearing them talking thinking, this has run its course.
Starting point is 00:46:55 Yeah, bro. This, because Amber works, at the restaurant and like it's Amber and one other lady who Amber's been working there since she was 16 and that's the only type of people who are working this restaurant are older ladies and younger girls. Amber's been working there. She was 16. And so a lot of the girls that work there now are just like there's these two, I'm not going to name any names, but like it's two younger teenagers like soup. There's a couple Christiany ones, but then there's just like the regular high school girls. They're like cool and stuff. And obviously we're not coming over to
Starting point is 00:47:25 our parties and stuff, but like, every now and then they will just kind of be around because Amber works with them or like, we'll see them out or whatever. And like, they're nice enough or whatever, but like, bro, I sprint away. And it's nothing on then. They're perfectly nice. But like, anybody, so our point is, like, anybody that's my age that is still trying to hang out with those young people, like, I just got to think that you were emotionally immature or you're just real dumb and so you need to hang around those people because by comparison you feel like an adult or you I don't know man I just see it makes no sense to me we got nothing in common dude we don't even speak the same language I have a young friend named Saxon who's a comedian and
Starting point is 00:48:07 he asked me comedy questions almost exclusively and then makes fun of me otherwise for being old and I don't feel like that's I think that's like maybe a mentor thing that feels weird to say comedians is different we're all the same age I just thought of a story. One of the friends I'm talking about, we met because she runs a bar and I went to her bar after I opened for the truckers at, Heathens.
Starting point is 00:48:34 Aethens. And then the weekend I met her, she tells the story, because she's like, this is when I fell in love with you or whatever. Like, one of her younger workers who worked for her was there, and she was telling some story about a vape,
Starting point is 00:48:46 and I was not trying to be an asshole. I was just really high on mushrooms. And I met this as, like, judgment on myself, but it's not, of course, how it came out because of who I am and how bad I am at talking to people. She gets done with her story, and I just went, I don't think we have anything in common. I don't know. Is this a girl that owns the bar that I went to where I was getting shots pouring down my neck? She's the manager, but yes. But that's not who I said that to. I said it to some, like, she's my younger friend and I said it in front of her young.
Starting point is 00:49:24 friend. Yeah. Yeah, we're getting all in the more than dying. We've got 11 minutes. Let's do it. We want to hear a story. The last 11 minutes. I was in New Orleans.
Starting point is 00:49:34 Everyone came out. We sold out the first show. I really appreciate the public defenders that came out. That felt really good. Well, okay, I was hanging out bar with a fan who brought me a Jerry Clower record. Sarah, shout out Sarah. I don't know how old Sarah is. Sarah's really cool, but, you know, she might be Gen Z.
Starting point is 00:49:52 I might have been being corny around her. I don't know. If she brought you a Jerry Clower record, she's a different type of cat, so you're probably okay. A separate lesbian who was age appropriate. You didn't even mention that she was a lesbian? You just, yeah, this popped out of a separate age-appropriate lesbian. Yeah, a separate age-appropriate lesbian tried to have sex with me. Nice.
Starting point is 00:50:16 And in the most blunt way, anyone has ever tried to do that. So it was a very new experience for me. me, right? So I'm already having this new experience. And I know some of you're listening as you're like, wait a minute, maybe I'm a pap ball. What does lesbian mean? Right. Is the thing? I don't know. You're allowed to identify however you want. But after she bluntly was like, are we going to do this or what? And I don't know, I guess in retrospect, I could have been being a little bit more, I guess I thought this isn't sexual. Looking back, I can be like, oh, I was acting the way straight dudes don't act in front of women,
Starting point is 00:51:05 unless, of course, they think it's a lesbian. Yeah, right, right, right. So when I rebuffed her, she then openly mocked me to my face. For being gay, because that's funny. Yes. Yes. And it was at that point that I realized, oh, I do think she's a lesbian because this is how dudes act. Yeah, definitely.
Starting point is 00:51:31 Yeah, right. She's a stud. But she didn't read that way. Right. And I don't think she listens to the pod, but I know that her partner is the stud, who was aware of all this, apparently. Anyway, I have never been bluntly, no one's ever bluntly been like, are you going to fuck me or what? And then also no one's ever been like, I just reenact it for you guys.
Starting point is 00:51:54 Oh, I'm so noble. I'm better than everyone. I got a wife. Homo. Wow. Direct quote. Yeah, I mean, she was being cheeky. Like, I did find it very funny.
Starting point is 00:52:08 Well, women, you may not be able to direct movies, but here's one thing you get to do that we can't. Right. Well, there's a few of those. Yeah, well, that's true. But, I mean, it doesn't make up for it. No. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:52:22 But I think that the male version of that, like, it just made me think of fucking, they still lauded and, you know, never held his problematic character of Willem Defoe's from Boondock Saints or whatever. Yeah. So great. Yeah, and it is. When he calls it. It's because, yeah. You want to cuddle?
Starting point is 00:52:43 You fucking, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Like, do you like, especially for that movie in that time, it's like that's such a. That era, that guy thing. And Willem Defoe is that dude and it all played or whatever. But it's like, he ate so hard in that movie.
Starting point is 00:52:55 Drew's story, who I know as a lesbian and everything, it just made me wonder. It's like, is that like a real, you know, thing? Toxic gay people? Yeah. Yeah, but I mean, like homophobic gay people. Right. And I don't mean Republicans, you know. Right.
Starting point is 00:53:13 You know what I'm saying? Yeah. Obviously, I know that. Brother. Yes, times 50. I mean, right. I sort of have a whole closing bit about it now, which now I'm going to add to. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:28 About lesbians hitting on my wife as if I don't exist. Mm-hmm. And one of the lines in there is the most toxic man you ever meet in your life is a woman named Ashley with my hair. Yes. Very funny. They're super duper exist. And by the way, they super hit, you know, just like your friends with boats. They super hit unless they cross the line.
Starting point is 00:53:50 There is like a narrow window of like, this is the best a human can be. This is like the perfect amount of shitty and toxic. But then just like with straight people, yeah, they can cross the line too. And they hit when you're on the boat. You know what I mean? Like when you're on the boat? And I was going to say, yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:10 But I just mean like, you know, they hit when you're on the boat. But you don't want to hang out with them seven days a week. You know what I'm saying? Now I'm trying to get into heaven. Oh, Lord. Oh, Christ Almighty. Well, that's good. I'm sorry you got to homophobic.
Starting point is 00:54:35 That was my husband. Is this anything? That is certainly something. I'll tell you that. That is certainly something. Shout up to there. Who is not the lesbian who made me feel uncomfortable. Who is the lesbian who made me feel super comfortable?
Starting point is 00:54:48 That's good Always good to have a comforting lesbian around Dude, I've been saying it Mm-hmm Soft skin That's like an uncle who knows What matches your eye color That's good stuff
Starting point is 00:55:03 Yeah, I'm all about that Trey, you got any lesbian stuff this week? No I'm trying to think Last time I was with a lesbian It's been a minute Not sexually, I just mean physically Was around the lesbian
Starting point is 00:55:16 They do hip from hell At every one of your shows, obviously. But yes, I mean, for any real time, you know. No lesbians, but there was a... There's a lot of queers in your Portland green room. Yeah. Right about that. I was thinking that.
Starting point is 00:55:32 They do hit. No lesbians, though, but queers, and they were hitting. Yeah. I used to think that I didn't... It's funny with my following and fan base and stuff now, because when I was younger, I would... Because of just a couple of bad interaction. But I thought that I just did not hit for lesbians like on a fundamental level, like immediately.
Starting point is 00:55:53 Which is crazy because you live just like Rachel Maddow. Yeah, right. Well, again, I do hit for lesbians now. But like before like, you know, virality and all that, I was like, yeah, I don't, I rubbed lesbans the wrong way. I don't know what it. I don't know. I don't like you rubbing them any type of way, but it's right. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:10 If you're open to it. Yes. It might be that you rented some bad apples, but it also might be that 20-year-old lime or tray did not have for lesbians. I know. 40-year-old liberal genius tray does it for lesbians. I know. But in my head, I mean, right.
Starting point is 00:56:29 But in my head, I'm like, I was still the same guy in my heart, you know. Yeah. Yeah. I think you're definitely 100% right. They could just, they sus and it out immediately. I used to get that from a fair number of people. Also just like kind of like archie, artsy types or whatever, who I also fuck with with it's like now or whatever.
Starting point is 00:56:47 But back then, they would, you know, they'd be like, wary of me. Because, again, it was fucking lime beard frat bro era, even though, like, I would have be coming with their interest. Accent to. But yeah, they would be like, this guy. This guy is not for us type of thing. That's on then. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:06 I was, I got a notification on Instagram that I don't even remember which one of my, it doesn't matter because all my videos are, or could have this comment on it. Whereas these people were. interacting on my behalf. I hadn't commented, but I saw somebody was like, hey, the first comment was like, hey, dot, dot, dot, that's fucked up. Don't say that. Corey's one of the real ones or whatever. And then I saw their, I was like, I got to get to the genesis of this, what happened. And this video and this person had commented, they were just like, fuck you, you piece of shit, blah, blah, blah, something about yada yada, and then that person was like defending me.
Starting point is 00:57:41 And then the person came back that originally said, fuck you to me and was like, they were like, oh my God, I'm so sorry, dot, dot, dot. Watch the whole video. That's my bad. But in fairness, this dude presents as a bigot. That was their defense of themselves that I present as a bigot. So like, it's not, they're not an idiot because they just didn't watch the video or whatever. It's like, well, to be fair, he is a white guy with a beard wearing a sleeveless shirt.
Starting point is 00:58:13 He presents. Okay. Can I do great? could I have to say, though, I'd have to see the video before I know if I'm going to defend you like that or not, because knowing how you be doing and how you be talking to people, it's very possible that if they only made it eight seconds in, like they didn't wait on the turn.
Starting point is 00:58:32 Right, right. And it was like my presence is like a bigot. They might mean backwards hat, beard with an accent. They might mean that you were in the part, opened in character like, Roger Fandah, wait a minute. And then you go, isn't that, aren't you tired? And you're like, you can't be mad at the person. because they didn't know the first four seconds of the video were a carry.
Starting point is 00:58:49 That's fair. I'll look up the video and we'll discuss it later. Are you going to be in Birmingham? I hope it's one of your sad mental health ones. That would destroy me. Probably. That would be the funniest thing. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:58:59 That would be delightful. Look it up. It's just you stared at the camera with tears in your eyes. I'm out missing your fucking damn all. Yeah. It's something just like, fuck this piece of shit. Piece of shit. I mean, it wouldn't surprise.
Starting point is 00:59:15 me. Where are you all going to be this weekend? I'll be at a clan rally if anybody needs me. I'm in actually, you could see me in Des Moines. Oh, nice. Look at me. It's not that we've prophesied that I would bomb there. You can come and see for yourself. That's actually the weekend after next, I think. But anyway, you can find out on the website. Des Moines, Omaha, Kansas City, upstate New York, Hartford, Eugene, Austin, a bunch of other places all at traycrouter.com. I am moving to Athens this weekend and next fully, finally getting all that done, finally getting the remodels done. And after that, if y'all are in the Atlanta and Athens area, I'm going to be getting up a lot around there till the end of the year. I've got a new 30.
Starting point is 01:00:01 I want it to be a new 60. And so I'm not touring much. I'm going to open for the illustrious Trey Crowder once or twice. I think I have a festival that I'm about to announce. But yeah, I'm going to be in Atlanta. If you're in Atlanta, holler at me and follow me closely, because I'll be announcing a little house shows here and there. You can come see me do 10 minutes and stuff.
Starting point is 01:00:22 Oh, that's fun. I, too, am not touring, so you can catch me at Corey Wrightsfor-you.com. That's my substack. And where tomorrow you can see the second episode of a new series I'm doing called Throwback Thursday, where I read old poetry and we discuss it. Tomorrow will be Robert Frost. All right. Thank you all for listening to The Well Red Show.
Starting point is 01:00:44 We'd love to stick around longer, but it's Thoreau. You know what I mean? You get it? Henry David Thoreau. Henry David Thoreau. Two roads diverged in the wood, and this guy's a bugget. Tune in next week, if you got nothing to do. Thank you, God bless you, good night and skew.
Starting point is 01:01:07 Cart, Arles. We're going to get drunk and we're going to talk a lot. What other rednecks to talk about laughing so hard that we end up. falling out our chairs. Free O with a pair. High class topics with a redneck flare. Oh, we get drunk and we don't talk a lot. Get drunk and we don't talk a lot.
Starting point is 01:02:28 Dress real fancy, sitting our chairs over. That truth are nameless, faceless. The families are getting together and plotting on you from the attic and basement. So even though Corey is, we're going to get drunk and we're going to talk a lot. We're going to get drunk and we're going to talk a lot.
