Werewolf Ambulance: A Horror Movie Comedy Podcast - Episode 107- Jennifer's Body (2009)

Episode Date: November 7, 2016

In this week's episode, we're discussing the 2009 black comedy horror film "Jennifer's Body." Special topics we'd like you to consider include: the usage of Urban Dictionary to figure out what anyone ...is talking about, famous people we've been told we resemble, things that are too gauche even for Pauly Shore, a great depiction of teenage awkwardness, being just a bit too quirky and that weird feeling where you're let down by expecting something to be shitty but it's just not shitty enough. There's gotta be a German word for that, right? Have you seen this one? What did you think? Starting point is 00:00:00 Here's a fun fact. Fun te. the te. Here's a fun fact. At the time that this movie came out, I was in a band called Yukia. Carrie from the God Monster of Indian Flats episode, famous Carrie. Because we talked about her all the time. And we covered this song because we didn't have enough originals to do like a full set so we were like, oh it's Jennifer's body it'll be awesome. Then we played the cover so many times that I like grew to hate the song.
Starting point is 00:00:52 Oh no. Yeah. Yeah but now I can hear it again. Luckily the rest of the album is so good. It like I feel it was really important for me. But then I also recognize how stupid some the the the th. the th. the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the thi thi thi the thi thi the the thi, I thi, I'm thi, I'm thi, I'm the, I'm the tho the the the the thoes, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'm, the the the the the the the the to, the toge, the toge, the toge, the the the the the the the the the thoe, the the the the, I'll, I feel it was really important for me. But then I also recognize how stupid some of it is, where she's like, I don't do the dishes, I throw them in the crib. Like, oh, you're so fucking edgy, Courtney, love. Like, tell me more. I think that's why I have, like, I really love that up. And, as like, as a pop, alt rock Wasn't it, was it like Cobain was writing most of it? Yeah, he wrote it.
Starting point is 00:01:27 And, but like, Courtney loved me is like such like cultured angst. Like, it's so like foe, angsty. Yeah. No one is that angsty. And if so, therapy. Therapy. Yeah. I was recently in the home of a relative
Starting point is 00:01:47 who reads those celebrity gossip magazines and I picked one up and was thumbing through it and it was a two-page spread about lady celebrities whose tits are sagging. Oh my god. And amongst them was Courtney Love and they had their ages. Courtney Love is 52 years old. Sure. You put it feel old? Courtney Love is 52 years old. Like, stop and think about that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:13 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Also, fuck that magazine. Oh, yeah. For sure, fuck it. Courtney love was by far the oldest person on there too. What do you want? Get out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out th thooooooooo their their th th th th th th th th th th th th tho tho tho thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. to, thi. to, thi. to thi. to, thi. thi. thi. child's tits to look like? What do you want? Get out of here. Oh man. But speaking
Starting point is 00:02:27 of tits. Speaking of tits, there's a lot of them in shirts in this movie. Yeah, barely in shirts. So... This is Jennifer's body. Yeah, written by fucking. You say that was such a, just head shaking. When I chose this movie, I for some reason didn't realize it was a Diablo Cody flick. What else? She did Juno. Yeah, that's the other big thing. That's the thing that I know her for. Okay. I really didn't like Juno. No, no, I found it very problematic for, like a better term. Yeah. Also, I didn't share something that this movie has that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that the that was that was that was the that was that was the the that's, that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's, that's, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the tho. th. the thi. the the the the the the the the the toda.a.a. the the the the the the the the the the the th. thia. th. 't share something that this movie has that I don't, you know, I was a teen.
Starting point is 00:03:07 You know, were we all? Yeah, yeah. Um, everyone I knew wasn't constantly making up new slang. And it seems that Diablo Cody thinks that every teen is making up their own slang language. Yeah. Yeah. It's weird because Diablo Cody, I think is my age about like mid-30s and she's referencing things that were like important to my teenage times like okay like whole and I know like I remember Juno references Sonic Youth just things
Starting point is 00:03:35 that were but then she's also like talking about fucking Zach Ephron you know what I mean like why are you referencing Zach that front you know I don't know it just it didn't it doesn't ring true. Do you want to to to to to to to to to to to to to to s to s to s to s to to to to to s to s to s to to to to to s so to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th the? the. thean. thean. thean. thean. thean. thean. thean. thean. thean. thean. thean, it just, it didn't, it doesn't ring true. Do you want to synops this movie? Sure. Jennifer is played by Megan Fox and she has a best friend named Needie? Needy less Nicky. It's dumb, why call her Needy? Give her name. Well, it was Anita.
Starting point is 00:04:02 I get that. Needy is not a name. I think they were just try to hit that over the head. Yeah, her ugly friend. Her ugly friend. Her ugly friend. Because Amanda is Seafreed, gorgeous woman. Unbelievably beautiful. Wearing glasses. Well yeah, that makes she ugly. Yeah, wearing glasses. And she's got this boyfriend who is they literally don't make them that nice. the. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. the th. th. Yeah. th. Yeah. th. thi. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. Yeah. Yeah. th. Yeah. th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. the th. th. the th. th. I. I the the the th. I the the the the th. I the the th. the th. th. th. th. th. th. the the th.'s literally the best boyfriend on the planet. They do not make them like that. And Jennifer's on the color guard, which no. I'm sorry, like, hot girls are not on the color guard. They're on the dance team. She did not look, she looks so uncomfortable twirling that rifle.
Starting point is 00:04:37 They're the flag. It's true. They go to see see the the the the the thagagagu. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, the, the, the, the, throw is just the, the, throw is throw is tho, is tho, is tho, is tho, is thoing thoing th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. the to see a band. Low shoulder? Low shoulder. A lot of things say about that too. A lot of things to say about a lot of things in this movie. The club burns to the ground. Jennifer is traumatized, is taken into the van with the band. You think they're going to like assault her. She shows up later atiddy's house, spewing black, covered in blood and spewing black vomit everywhere. And then she starts eating dudes. Yeah, and then she's fine. Largely, yeah. And then she's fine. Is that the plot? That's pretty, and then it's um, needy figuring out what's going on and how she can help her friend. It's very, uh, all cheerleaders die on some level. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:29 Which I loved. Sure. And to be honest, I didn't hate this movie. No, no, no, no. But like I think I said, off air, I was really, or last week or whatever, I was really hoping for another shitty movie, a'ah I know who killed me, who was shitty and really enjoyable at the same time.
Starting point is 00:05:49 Yeah, this is not that shitty. It's not shitty enough. It's not shitty enough. Yeah. Okay. Megan Fox, this is gonna sound like a ridiculous thing to say. OK. I'm 32 years old. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:01 Megan Fox is playing a high school student in a movie that came out after I'd been out of high school for nearly 10 years. Yeah. I'm surprised that she's younger than me. It was surprised me when I looked at when she's younger than I assumed she was old. I don't know why I thought that. I just assumed she was like 23 I think when they made this movie. Yeah, but I thought she was like 40 now. Oh really? Yeah, I don't know why I thought that. She has like a bit of a timeless quality to her, like, like, she's an extremely beautiful person. Sure, sure.
Starting point is 00:06:33 But in like a like, I wasn't, I wanted to say manufactured way, but it's very like, yeah. Yeah. way, but it's very like, I mean, yeah, like if you were going to like make a beautiful person, you'd be like, oh yeah, yeah. I think I think she's old because she was married to Brian Austin Green, who was like a teenage sex symbol when I was a child. I mean, who's Brian Austin Green? He was a 902-0. Oh, shit. Oh, shit. No, no, no. He's the nerdy kid at 9-02-10 who eventually became a cool kid. Okay.
Starting point is 00:07:05 See, it's all very vague for me and I just remember Luke Perry. Yeah, because he should be my age. Luke Perry was on the cover of AARP magazine last month. What? You want to feel old? Courtney loved Luke Perry in their 50s. I don't have to do it. No, no, no, no. This Gandolf gandthat I've been grooming.
Starting point is 00:07:27 Did a lot of these cultural references fall flat for you as a person who was, how old in 2009? Pretty fucking old. I had been on the cover of AARP the year before. It's weird that they put you on the cover, but yes. Yeah, you know the train for the Everyman. Yeah. No, I think I got like, and that's sort of another thing.
Starting point is 00:07:51 I actually thought that the cultural references felt like dated for when this movie like came out. Right. They felt very like, you know. I mean, MySpace, they're talking about MySpace. 2009, it's over. It's long. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I the. I th. I th. I th. th. th. th. the th. th. th. the the th. the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the they they they they they they they they they they're they're they're they're they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they. they. Yeah. Yeah. I. I. I. I. I. I. Yeah. I. I. Yeah. I. Yeah. I. I. I. Yeah. Yeah. I. they. they. they. they're th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. th. the. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. they're they're they're they're they're talking about MySpace. 2009, it's over. It's long over. Yeah. I feel like, for people who watch Supernatural, the Winchester's reference points are 20 years prior to their current ages. Yeah. They're like, oh, let's talk about ELO.
Starting point is 00:08:17 And let's talk about, like, yeah. And Kansas and like, I remember when remember when that thing happened on different strokes, I'm like, what the fuck? Are you cooking? You guys are 12, what are you talking about? Like, and that's what I kind of felt like this. And like, again, this goes back to like my Diablo Cody not really being a big fan, because I feel like she's like, it's just kind of disconnected. Like the characters don't feel real because. Yeah. Yeah, there's something I really like about the small town
Starting point is 00:08:54 Devil's Kettle. Yeah, devil's kettle. Not so much the name, but like the band playing in the small town club and like everybody going out to see them. In 2009 I was in a band that was doing that, you know, that like, I don't know. That part felt very true to me like sure of even like a bar where you can have underage kids in there like I played in one. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I the the the the the the the th. I the th. Yeah. Yeah. I th. I the the th. Yeah. Yeah. I th. Yeah. I th. Yeah. Yeah. I th. Yeah. I th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I don't, I th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I don't I don't I don't I don't I don't I don't I don't I they. I they. I the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. Yeah. Yeah. I th. I th. Yeah, I theeeat theat theat theat teat theat the. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I the the theto me, like, Sure. Of even like a bar where you can have underage kids in there, like I played in one in Youngstown, and it was literally the most fun show I've ever played. Yeah, because those people don't get a lot of bands. So if you're the band that comes to their town, they're So, yeah. Yeah, that stuff's awesome. Low shoulder were terrible.
Starting point is 00:09:27 They sounded like a Christian rock band. That's a second appearance of Adam Brody from the O.C, if you'll recall. When else was he in? He is one of the teens in the ring that explains to Naomi Watson. Oh, shit. Oh, oh, God damn, that, that, that, that, th! th! th! th! th! th! th! th! th! th! th! th! th! th! th! th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. That's. That's. That's, th. th. th. th. That's. That's. That's. That's. That's. That's. That's. That's. That's. That's. That's. That's. That's. That's. That's. That's. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th th have two movies with the kid from the O.C? You know? He was, actually, I thought he was very good in this. I thought he was like hilarious. I thought he was. Do we mention that this is a comedy?
Starting point is 00:09:53 No. Yeah, it's a comedy. Not as funny as it should be just like a bunch of duds. Never get they were like, I feel like they had lines written for them and then they did like a rehearsal and they were like, forget it, none of you talk. Adam Brody, you're the only one who gets to talk. Oh, their hair just keeps getting worse as they get more famous. So the, basically the, like, like, their their their their their their their their their their their their this band has sold their souls to the devil and in order to be famous. And in order to make it happen they have to sacrifice a virgin.
Starting point is 00:10:31 But do they have to burn down a club to do that? Did they burn down the club? I don't think they did. Oh I thought they did. I thought that was somehow. I they were just burning it up up up up up up up up up they were just burning it up. I. I. I. I was just burning. I was just. I was just. I was just. I was just. I was just. I was just. I was just. I was just. I they were just. I they were just. I they were just. I they were just. I they were just. I they were just. I they were just. I they were just. I they were just. I they were just. I they were just. I they were. I they were. I they were. I they were. I they were. I was. I was. I was just. I they were. I was just. I was just. I was just. I was just. I was just. I was just. I was just. I was just. I they were just. I was just. I they were just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just. I they were just just. I they were just just. I they were just burning. I they were just. I they were just. I they were just. I they were just. I they were just. I they were just. I they were just burning they were just burning. I they were just. I they were just. I they were just licks. They killed boar-bor Chris Pratt before he got to do it. Chris Pratt is in this movie? He's the cop that she talks to in the beginning in the club when she walks in he's like oh shit. Yeah that's Chris Pratt. Weird. He was kind of that. He was kind of the Chubbysh-and. Weird. Well yeah that was his one he was on Parks and Rec. Hekman I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I never I never I never I never I never I never I never I never I never I never I never I never I never I never I never I never I never I never I never I never I never I never I never I never I never I never I never I never I never I never I never I I never I I never I I never I I never I I I never I I never I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I. I. I. I was I. I was I was I never I never I never I never I never I never I never I never I never. I never. I never. I never. I never. I never. I never. I never. I never. I never. I never. I never. I never. I never. I never. I never. I never. I never. I never. I never. I was like. It's now like a chiseled, chiseled hunkman. Yeah, honkman.
Starting point is 00:11:09 I have so many weird lines like the whole thing of like, ah, these, the singer's salty, he's a salty morsel. No, nobody would say that. It's like, like, things that, oh God, he's so hot. That's what you would say, 2009 or today. Like, I don't know. It feels like that's like things at Polly Shore would be like, no, that's gush. I'm not going to say that.
Starting point is 00:11:30 I did like the 9-11 tribute shot that they had. It was like red, white, he called The Trail of Tears, which is whiskey and Cherokee red. Oh God. Yeah. Oh, wow. That can't taste good. Oh, no, it's disgusting.
Starting point is 00:12:02 I did think that that shot looked tasty, but I think it's just because I really like a rocket pop. Yeah, you know, I do, I do a nice, a nice, th. th. th. th. th. th. th., I, I, I, I, I th. I th, I the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the tri, I tri, I the tri, I tri, I tri, I tre whiskey, I tre whiskey, I tre whiskey, I the tre whiskey, I the tre whiskey, I the the tre, I the tre, I the tre, I tre, I the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the tre, I tre, I tre, I tre, I tre, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I dothat that shot looked tasty, but I think it's just because I really like a rocket pop. Yeah, you know, I do a nice red, white, and blue jello shot every year on 4th of July, as you've seen. So I appreciate it. It's a nice, it's nice, a jealous shot. That also had one of my favorite laughs, one of my favorite laughs, one of my favorite jokes in this, which was she's like, Amanda Seaford's like freaking out about something and talking to Megan Fox and she just looks at the drink she has and goes, Tower One isn't full enough. Yeah. I thought Megan Fox was surprisingly funny in this.
Starting point is 00:12:38 I don't know that I've ever seen anything else she's been in. I've never seen a transformer. Nope. She's a ninja. I tho. I tho. I th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi tho. th. thi thii thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. I's tho. I's th. I's th. I's tho. I'm thi. I'm thi. I'm thi. I's th. I's thoen thoen thoen thi. I'm just just just just just just just just just just just just thi. I'm thi. I'm thi. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I's th. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's th. I'm th. I'm th. th. th. th. thi. th. theeea. thea. thea. thea. thea. I'm just just. She's just just thea. I'm just just just just just just just thea. S. I'm the in. I've never seen a transformer. Nope. She's a Ninja Turtle now. She's April O'Neill. No. She is. Oh weird. True. I don't see her as April O'Neal. April. I don't see her as April O'Neal is a suck symbol. April. I don't see. A little throwne. A would know you or me? And I was like, fine, you. It sounds like I'm an abusive relationship. I'm not. He's just really defensive about the turtles. I think the kind of a mousey lady can be a sex symbol. As someone who had a crush on Velma from Scooby-Doo as a child. You preferred Velma to Daphne. She's a hip hip lady. Yeah, man. I mean, now she would like, fucking rule the world. Speaking of slang, there were things I just didn't know what they meant.
Starting point is 00:13:29 Such as. I think it's when, oh, it's in the scene where Megan Fox takes the football player into the woods to kill him. And he's like, you're really warm. Why are you so warm? Sheeties? What th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th-a, th-a, th-a, th-a, th-a, th-a, th-a, th. th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, the th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th mean? Shetty, I don't know. Shetties. I thought, on closed captioning it said Shutties, S-H-U-T-T-I-E-S. Telling him to shut his mouth? No, I don't think so. It seemed like it was said hello, titty?
Starting point is 00:14:05 That's funny. I like that. I do. Oh, urban dictionary, Shetties. Oh, no, you're right. It was her telling him to shut up. Oh, OK. It says, shutties is a entire wing of the Urban Dictionary dedicated to the weird stuff that are in movies?
Starting point is 00:14:26 Yeah, I really didn't know. Okay. Let's talk about the fact that Needie's mom is played by Amy Sedaris, whom I love. Of course, she's wonderful. Oh, strangers the candy is so good. The scene. Fan-Dango. Where she is, there's some like young kid that she's that she's that she's that she's that she's that she's that she's that she's that she's that she's that she's that she's that she's that she's that she's that she's that she's that she kid that she's messing around with like sexually and she's like do you want to tou toub's my vagina and he tells him to close his eyes or maybe he's blind.
Starting point is 00:14:52 I can't remember. And she offers him an empty tape measure and just like puts his finger on it and started spinning it. What the fuck is going on? Oh no. But you know, it's, Stephen, Stephen, Stephen, Stephen, Stephen, Stephen, Stephen, Stephen, Stephen, Stephen, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th on? I don't know. But you know, it's so good. Stephen Colbert is so good in it. There's that scene where he's like to telling her what she has to get on every other test
Starting point is 00:15:13 in order to pass the class and he's holding a calculator and just hitting it with his knuckles. So funny. She was not used enough, Amy Sederis. They got her playing street. Yeah, but she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she seems she seems she she seems she seems she seems she s she seems she s she seems she s she seems she seems she s she s she seems she seems she seems she seems she seems she seems she seems she seems she seems she seems she seems she seems she seems she seems she seems she seems she seems she seems she seems s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. th. th.ideris. It's just like, she's out. Yeah, but she seems like maybe drunk. Yeah, no. At J.K. Simmons is the teacher. Is he, he's in all these movies that she does?
Starting point is 00:15:36 He was in Juneau, too. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. What do you know him from? Law and order? In your life? No, I've never seen an episode. Are you an American? Probably not.
Starting point is 00:15:47 How have you lived your whole life without seeing an episode of Law and Order? I don't know. That stuff doesn't. Whenever I say Jack McCoy, you nod. Yeah, just go along with it. I know the cultural things that the, that exists, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, th. Because this because of this, but I've never sat down and watched an episode. You should watch an episode. Isn't it just the same thing over and over and over again?
Starting point is 00:16:05 Yeah, both different people. Okay. No, I mean, he's in Whiplash, that movie about the drummer, and he plays Jay Jordan Jameson in the Spider-Man movies and he's in a ton of stuff. He's in those farmers' insurance commercials? He's super th because he's gonna be in some other superhero movie and it looks real weird because he's 60 something and he's like super ripped. God what does it like to just be like I'll go to get buff for work? You know? We just want to pay me to get buff. Yeah, think about that sometimes. What I have to do for someone to pay me to to get buff? Maybe we need to go go go go go go go go go go go go go to go to go to go to go to go to go to go to go to go to go to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the the the the the the the the the the the the th the. the. the. I. I the the the the the the. the the the to to to to to to to to to to to buff. Maybe we need to go fund me. Go buff me.
Starting point is 00:16:45 It's not bad, quite honestly. So the supporting cast is really good. There's a screeching weasel song at some point in this movie. Yeah. Back to these references that make sense and don't make sense. Like the band when they're debating whether or not to kill Jennifer, they're like, do you want to be famous like Maroon 5? Like those th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, it's, it's, it's, it's th, it's th, it's th, it's th, it's th th to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to th, th, th. tho, tho, the, the the the the the the the the the the the the to to to to to to to to to to to to or not to kill Jennifer, they're like, do you want to be famous, like Maroon 5? Like those dudes would definitely not want to be Maroon 5. They'd be like, don't you want to have a hit like Death Cab for Cutie? Or be Radiohead or something? Something. A single hit like Death.
Starting point is 00:17:16 At least or Fallout boy. Did they fucking sponsor this movie? Did Pete Wentz give them money? I was reading on the Wikipedia that he was apparently up for they wanted him to be Nikolai. They wanted him to be the lead singer of the band. See he's a real doushbag I feel so. So he would have been great for that role. I think so. He's married to the the girl. Oh, fuck. Which one? Jessica. No Ashley Simpson. Oh my god. They they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're th. th. th. th. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. Oh my god they've been divorced for a year. Here's the thing, in college when Ashley Simpson, it was like my senior year of college when she had the lip-syncing thing and she had her TV show, she was like famous at the time. When she had dark hair and bangs and had not yet gotten a nose job, every people stopped me on the street to tell me I look like like like like........ the. the. the. the. to. to. the. to. the. to. the, to. the, the, to. the, the, th. the, th. And, I, I, I, I, I'm, I'm, th. I'm, I'm, I'm, the, th. I'm, th. I, th. I, th. I, I, I, I, I, I. I. I. I. I. I, I. I. I. I. I. I, I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I, I. I. I. I. I. I, I. I. I. I, th. I. And, the the the the the Every people stopped me on the street to tell me I look like Ashley Simpson. So I got I went through like an Ashley Simpson phase where I was like, well fine I'll like it.
Starting point is 00:18:08 I'll like it then. Yeah, yeah. Um, so yeah I know like more than a person showed about Ashley Simpson's life. I remember her. Oh, I love them. I love them. I don't remember. I don't. Yeah. Yeah. I don't remember. I don't remember. I don't remember. I don't remember. I don't remember. I don't remember. I don't remember. I don't remember. I don't remember. I don't remember. I don't remember. I don't remember. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I their. I their. I their. I their. I their. I them. I'm them. I'm them. I'm them. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I th. I th. I th. I'm like th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I there. Oh nice. Boyfriend is a great song. I don't remember them. I'll have to. Put boyfriend right here. Thank you. I'm back.
Starting point is 00:18:30 No, no. Ha ha. that's a song about the music drums. I'll dance to your boyfriend. I dance to your boyfriend. Hey how long till your Lindsay's going on, because you're really getting wrong. But then I tell you what I found. That's a song about Lindsay Lohan.
Starting point is 00:18:49 Oh really? And Wilmer Valderrama from that 70 show? Ah, these are just facts that I know about Ashley Simpson. Do I ever tell you who people used to say that I looked like when I was young? Who? Kiefer Sutherland? Oh yeah? That's a nice compliment though. It is. It is. Good looking guy. I had multiple people like, you know who you look like? I don't, but I know what you're about to say.
Starting point is 00:19:10 It was always keep her something. That's nice. It's strange, but yeah. It's worried about the, you know, I was like, yeah, lost boys is one of my favorite movies. Yeah. . job interview right out of college and the interview was like, oh my god, you look just like Ashley Simpson. What? And I was like, oh well, you know, lip-sinking joke, like, oh, the words I'm saying will
Starting point is 00:19:30 really be coming out of my mouth and they were like, ha ha ha, and then I didn't get the job. So whatever. What a weird thing for someone to say that. People said to me all the time. the the the the to. to to me. to me. to me, to say, the the to say, the the the the the to say, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the word, their, their, oh, oh, the word, the words, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, the words, the words, the words, the words, the words, the words, the words, the words, the the the the the the the the the the words, the words, the words, the words, the words, the words, the words, the words, the words, the words, the words, the words, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, the words, the time. It was like when not a lot of people like, bangs. Forget it. It doesn't matter. Let's move on. I would do want to touch one more thing about the dialogue in this movie. Why is the word retard in this movie so much? Oh, I know. It's 2009. It's not 1984. Like, go fuck yourselves. Yeah, it's insane how often it's used. Yeah. And there's variations on the theme. Just putting Tard in the middle of words, like, get out of here. Not a fan.
Starting point is 00:20:05 There was one thing that I really liked that I actually like legit lulled at, which is in the background of one of the scenes in the school, there's a poster for a musical that the school is putting on, and it's whatever happened to Baby Jane, the musical, which I laughed so hard at. Like that's th th th th th th th th that's th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that that that that, that, that, that, the the the the the. the. the. the the the. that's thathing thathing thathing thathing thathing thathing th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thatting thatting thatting thatting thatting thatting thatting thatting that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, thea that, that, that, that, that so hard at. Like that's such a funny concept, but then so many of these jokes just fell so flat like the retarded stuff. Like how can you do both? You can't have it both ways, like funny and not funny? Yeah, I know just yeah, just I mean just missing the mark so hard on that stuff. And like why does Needy wear that dress to the formal? It's 2009? Why is she wearing that like 1980s? I I I I I I I the the the the the the the the th. I the th. I th. I the th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I just, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, th. Why is she wearing that like 1980s prom dress?
Starting point is 00:20:48 It just, I don't understand in what world this movie is supposed to take place, I guess. Yes. Also, the slippery swirl condom. Oh, yeah. It makes it feel good for a girl. Cool. I love that concept that sex does not feel good for women. Well, unless unless, they they they they they they they they they they they they they the they the th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi, thi thi thi thi thi thi thi. thi. thi. thi. thi, thi. thi. Oh, thi. Oh, thi. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi, thi. thi. thi thi thi thi thi thi thi theeea thea thea thea thea thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi. I love that concept that sex does not feel good for women. Unless you have the slippery, slippery slope.
Starting point is 00:21:08 Is that what it is? Slippery swirls. It just keeps going downhill from here, ladies. Ah, it's true. Kids? Men hit their sexual peak at 18. Only gets worse from there. Oh, awkward teen sex.
Starting point is 00:21:31 You know, I thought that was really well done and funny and like sweet and endearing. Yeah, and it wasn't like, yeah, often that's played for gross out or like, but it was like, it was sweet. It was really endearing. The boyfriend was so nice, like he's the nicest character in the movie. You're like, oh, what a good guy. They did have nice chemistry as well. They seemed to work well. You know, it wasn't like in, I know who killed me the sick scene in that.
Starting point is 00:21:54 Bum, bomp, bomp, bum. What's going on upstairs? I was genuinely sad when the boyfriend got killed later in the movie. Yeah. Yeah, he didn't deserve it. But not Colin. Colin. The gothy fallout boy kid? Oh yeah, fuck that guy. He's supposed to be like some like fallout punky kid and he's got like aunt hair.
Starting point is 00:22:21 He looks like um Billy Joe Armstrong from Green Day. Oh, a little bit, yeah. In like a, I don't know, teenage way. He's the, uh, the beaver from Veronica Mars. I have never seen Veronica Mars. Oh, what? Oh, what? Oh, God.
Starting point is 00:22:36 Did I see it? Should I see it before or after the wire? Since you're probably never going to watch the wire, the wire, the wire, the wire, the wire, the wire, the wire, the wire, the wire, the wire, the wire, the wire, the wire, to, to, the wire, to, to, to, to, to to to to to to to to to to to th, the wire, to to th. th. th. th, th, to, to, to, to, to, to, t, the, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, tie tie. I tie, tie. I tod. I te, te, te. I te. I te. I tean. I te.e.ea. I te.e.e. te. te. te. t breaking bad? Uh, though, Veronica Marrs and the wire, I definitely push above breaking bad. Good to know, thank you. On the hitchman scale, things you should watch. Things I'm never gonna see, because I just can't get my life together. I was being a teen sex I really liked when he, uh, when she starts crying, I was like, But she starts crying and he goes, Am I too big? Yeah, that was funny.
Starting point is 00:23:05 And I was like, that's dumb things a kid say. That was funny, yeah. So what happens is that Megan Fox is not in fact a virgin. They tell the band that she's a virgin, just as like a thing, I guess. They believe it. So when they do this ritual and they kill her, the demon the demon the demon the demon the demon the demon the demon the demon the demon the demon the demon the demon the demon goes the demon goes the demon goes the demon goes the demon goes the demon goes the demon goes the demon goes the demon goes, the demon, the demon, tha, tha, tha, thoome, the, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, th. thoom, thoes, thoes, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, ritual and they kill her, the demon goes into her body?
Starting point is 00:23:26 I was kind of like, ma'am, whatever. Yeah, there's some like demon textbook that they have that explains it. In the occult section of the school library. So she has to feed on men to keep her energy up, basically. She starts to get sick and sad, and as they say, ugly for her. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I, th. I, th. I, th. I, th. I, th. I's thi. I's thi. I was the, the, the, the, thoes, I was thi. I was thi, I was tho- tho, I was tho, I was kind like, I was kind like, I was kind like, I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I to th. I was to to to to to th. I was to th. I was th. I was to th. thi. that. that. that. to the. to to to to to to to toea. toeateateatea. theatea. theatea. thea. thea. thea. I was kind the. I starts to get sick and sad and as they say ugly for her. Right, her hair loses its luster. Yeah, until she feeds and then she's back up. Yeah. But the weird thing about, which is kind of a cool concept, I like it. The weird thing about it is that she goes after guys that she deems like, not
Starting point is 00:24:01 good enough for her. Do you know what I mean? Yeah. It had a vibe of like, why not go after shitty guys? Like Colin sucked or whatever, but he seemed like a nice enough guy. Sure, trying. And she clearly saw him as like below her. So like why, what is the message there? Yeah, it seems like it should have been set up that she was put upon in some way or like she's the reason for the revenge aspect of this and like it just kind of came off as like all men have to die yeah yeah because she goes after the big hulking jock dude yeah and then yeah
Starting point is 00:24:38 nerdy guy and is there anybody else I can't think of anybody else. Is it just then chip at the end? Yes, and then chip at the end, the nerdy or nerdy guy. Did you like how Colin's mom described him as looking like a lasagna with teeth at his funeral? Come on! Come on! I did like when, after she killed Colin, she was just drinking handfuls of blood out of his stomach. Yeah, yeah, just bent over it.
Starting point is 00:25:08 It was, I thought that was pretty good. Yeah, yeah, yeah, the special effects were good. Yeah, a lot of blood. There's the lesbian make-out sesh. But the camera was practically stuck inside of their mouths. Yeah, it's pretty unnecessary, but also movies. So flashback we see the murder of Megan Fox's character. Yes. And it is set to the band singing 8675-309 while killing her.
Starting point is 00:25:35 And she's like, why don't you just get a publicist? Which I really liked. We could make t-shirts. Yes. Yeah. That's so weird. And then they just stab the shit out of her. Yeah. Yeah. And they're the knife into... Oh, the reason it's the devil's kettle. Devil's kettle is because there's a whirlpool that if you throw shit into it, you can't, they can't figure out where it comes out. And it just shows the science guys throwing like a bucket of super balls in there. Like, I don't know. But then at the end... Well, then I got mad at the science guys at the end. I was like, you really didn't fucking find that? It's just on the road.
Starting point is 00:26:09 Half mile down the road. Just on the road. Do you know what Mighty Boosh is? Yes. So our mutual friend, Jeremy Hedges was at my house while I was watching this movie. And he came into the room in the final confrontation swimming pool scene. Okay. Where Amanda Seafreed is covered in like mud and plant Detroit us. Sure, sure, sure. And he was like, oh, she looks just like old Greg.
Starting point is 00:26:33 And I had had, I had it paused because I was talking to him. And she really, he showed me a picture, thiiiii. Yeah, yeah. It was really weird. I just thi thi thi thi. I just thought I'd tell you about it. I thought it might be of interest to you. It does look a bit like Old Cray. Like, exactly like him. Like, I think they would have been concurred as well.
Starting point is 00:26:53 Have you never watched Money Boosh? No, I don't, I think you would really ignite the Moneybush. It's really fun. Should I watch it before after Veronica Mars? Uh, I would do the Muddy Bouch, the wush. Okay. Veronica Mars, then the wire. Okay. Man, my list is never going to get to the wire. The rape you're giving that in flashback. Because he survived the fire which we didn't think. I met from India? Yeah. And then he she murders him.
Starting point is 00:27:29 Yeah. That's how she figures out that she craves the flesh of young men. Because she was eating that rotisserie chicken and it was really gross. Oh on the the kitchen floor or whatever, yeah. I mean all in all I enjoyed every moment of this movie. I tho th. It was was was was was was was was liked th. th. th. th. th. thii. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. the thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. thi. thi. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.. Yeah.. Yeah..... Yeah......... Yeah......... Yeah..... Yeah....... Yeah..... Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.... Yeah.. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.. Yeah. all in all, I enjoyed every moment of this movie. I thought it was like super enjoyable, really watchable. Did you like that Lance Hendrickson showed up to give her a man to see for her a ride at the end of it? What? Those Lance Hendrick, that?
Starting point is 00:27:54 Wait, gives her a ride at the end of it. He's the guy who picks her up the thri. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. thi. Did. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. the thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. Did, like like, thi. Did thi. Did The last note I have is Lance Henderson is the guy who picks up needy. Is this a joke? I don't think that was like a really old man. Well, he would be at that point, yeah. How old is he? Let's look it up. Tell me more about Lance Hendrickson. Born in 19.
Starting point is 00:28:20 So he's 76 now, right? Yeah, so in 2009 he would have been younger than that. I see. I assume he was what, seven years ago? So he would have been 69? 69? That's not that old. No. He looked old as shit. Wow, look at that photo of him. Can you turn that around so I can see it right side up? Yeah, that's from 2010, so it would have been right around that time. Geez. Yeah, I guess he's just so ropey. I feel like we discussed his ropeiness another in the pumpkin head episode. He's got that uh, that Iggy pop-ishishishishishishishishishishishishishishishishishishishish, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, that, that's, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's from, that's from, that's from, that's from, that's from, that's from, that's from, that was him. Yeah. We also didn't mention that
Starting point is 00:29:05 this is all being told in retrospect because needy is in jail. Oh yeah, that's right. She's a kicker. That's how it opens it up. Yeah, and I was like, this is not what orange is the new black is like, which she's like beating the shit out of that uh nutritionist. So we see that she's got like a superpowered kick at the beginning of the movie. Yeah. She's kicking everybody. She's mad. At the end of it, it's explained why she has a superpowered kick. She got part of a demon inside of her? She got the little demons. Little demons.
Starting point is 00:29:34 Little demons. And then she kicks down a jail fence and leaves. Kicks her way out of the prison. And then she goes thops, she goes, she goes, she goes, she goes, she goes, she goes, she goes, she goes, she goes, she goes, she goes, she goes, she goes, she goes, she goes, she goes, she goes, she goes to to to to th. th. th. tho, she goes, she goes, she goes, she goes, she goes, she goes, she's, she's, she's, she's their, their, their, th. th. th. th. th. th. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. the. the. the. the. the. the. thea. thea. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. to the hotel room of Low Shoulder, who at this point are super famous. And they're like the, they're the band of the tragedy, of the club burning down. So we had to keep hearing the terrible song over and over. Yeah, it felt, it felt right for the time though. Oh for sure, for sure. And the end credits are just her killing them. Yeah, brutally. It's great. And th. And th. And th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the the end, the end their their their their their their they they they they they they they they they they're they they're, they they they're, they they they they they. They they. They they. They they. They they. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And their. And their. And their. And their. And their. And their. And their, their, their, their, their, their their th. the. the. the. their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their the. Yeah, brutally. Yeah. It's great. And then you see all their dead bodies as like Polaroids or something. Yeah, like the cop polaroids.
Starting point is 00:30:09 Yeah. It was great. And that's this movie. Katie? Yeah. I wish I could do a good coordinate love impression. I would do that to go into the ratings phase. Go on take.
Starting point is 00:30:18 . Take the do the ratings face. I want you to. Okay. Oh, I see what you did there. A wink. I can't wink. I'm blinking. Did we just bomb you out that they played Violet at the end and Jennifer's body? Do they feel like Jennifer's body was too on the nose? Like, file's a great song, don't get me wrong? Oh yeah, no, it's a maybe my favorite song off that record. But don't, like what he, it's, come on. So here's my theory about why they didn't use Jennifer's body. Tell me. Is that they proposed it and Courtney Love was like asking for an astronomical amount of money since the movie was also named that. Oh, that's my theory.
Starting point is 00:30:56 And they were like, fine. would have been a better choice. It's true. Think about the lyrics. So, Katie, I'm going to give you my rating of this movie. Oh, please do. I want to give this movie a five. Middle the road. Middle the road. I wanted it to be so much shiater than what. Yes. I like this movie.
Starting point is 00:31:14 This movie is losing points. It set itself up as a comedy. Yeah. And did not pay off as a funny movie. Oh, you don't think? I think there were some funny parts, but overall it wasn't a very funny movie. But it also wasn't enough of a serious movie to like counter that, I guess. So it just kind of ended up like, you know, not to compare it always to, I know who killed me, but that is a movie that took itself so s it the their their their to their to to to to to be their to be their to be to be I know who killed me, but that is a movie that took itself so seriously and it's so shitty because of it. Yeah, yeah, it's a different vibe for sure. Yeah, and it's not all cheerleaders die, which I feel like is almost the exact same movie, but
Starting point is 00:31:53 like executed, the humor is very good in that movie. It's very upfront and funny. Maybe it was because I watched this back to-back with last week's movie Sleepy Hollow, which I just could not I saw the back of my skull I was rolling my eyes so hard at that movie. I found this so enjoyable Yeah, and I just in 2009 I was like in my mid-to-late 20s in a band like it just felt very true all of all the pop culture bits that felt real felt real, felt very real to me and I agree and I agree that it should have either the th th th th th the th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th the the the the the the the the the thu thu the the the the tho-I tho-I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. th. I th. th. th. th th th. th th th. th th. th th th. th. th. th th th th th th th th th th the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the to the to to the to the the the the the the the the the the the the the felt real, felt very real to me. And I agree that it should have either been funnier or been scarier, I guess. And things like the whatever happened to Baby Jane the musical signed and the background,
Starting point is 00:32:34 like give me more of that because that's fucking hilarious. I just felt like instead of using that humor, they use the humor of like a girl talking about tampons, which is kind of not even in the same ballpark. Right, right, right, right. Yeah, or like even the, what was it, the, the slippery swirl, like that was good. And like, I thought Megan Fox was actually really, when she got comedy to deliver, she did it. Yeah. The Tower one is full enough, the tower one isn't full, like that, the the the tower. tower, tower, tower, tower, towa, towa, towa, towa, towa, towar, towar, towar, w. towar, w. towar, what, what, what, what, what, what, what was, what was, what was, what was, what was, what was, what was, what was, what was, what was, what was, what was, what was, what was, what was, what was, what was, what was, what was, what was, what was, what was, what was, what was, what was, what was, what was, what was, was, what was, was, was, what was, was, what was, what was, what was, was, what was. tower. tower. tower. tower. tower. tower. t. t. towa, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what was, what was, what was, what was, what was, what, what was, like, what was, what was, like, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, was, was, what, what, with them, why don't you just get a publicist? Like, I really liked it. And I thought she was good. I thought Amanda Seafrew was good. I thought everybody's acting was good.
Starting point is 00:33:08 I'm gonna give this a seven. I really enjoyed it. Nice. Would recommend. Plus I love Hall and give Courtney love. She's getting moneys in her 20s. Wow. Yeah. She had like an Instagram revolution a couple years ago where she was like Instagram famous. Oh really? But I think she's they like she maybe doesn't speak to Courtney love
Starting point is 00:33:31 love all the time which like of course why would you? And she's in like a model so. Oh is she? I think so. Okay. Yeah she's loved lovely girl. Oh yeah. I don't think I've seen a picture. She's lovely lovely lovely lovely I'll Instagram her while you're doing whatever it is that you're doing. What is it that you do here on this show? Well, Katie, right now what I do is talk to you about the Cryptocurium's parcel of terror. Ooh, tell me about it. It is a $35 a month subscription box where you get awesome handmade horror items, made by one Jason McKKitrich who as we know now as beautiful hands and I feel like we tricked him into something and I just feel
Starting point is 00:34:12 guilty I don't know you shouldn't it was great he loved it he took 27 pictures of his hands and you can listen to last week's sleepy hollow episode to hear us unboxing the treat box that he sent us. And I am still staring at the pumpkin with wings, or Jack Lenner with wings, a plaque right now. And it is incredible. The work that he does into sculpting these things and mass producing them. Oh yeah, Francis Bean.
Starting point is 00:34:38 Yeah. Looks like the child of Courtney Love and Kurt Cobain. She looks like, um, um the the w w w wi the the the the the the the the the the the th, uh th, uh th, uh th, uh th, uh th, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, th. th. th. thi-in, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, th. Wait, how do you get cooler than Miley Cyrus? Carry on. Also, her Instagram is at Space Underscore Witch 666. She's a big fan of horror movies. Oh. Do you think Francis Bean Cob, listens to our podcast?
Starting point is 00:35:06 I think we should find out and make that happen if she doesn't. Guys, do you know Francis Bean? Get her on the line. Oh wow, she looks not unlike Verruz the bulk. No, no, Ferru's a bulk. You say every time. Every time. So $35 a month gets you a subscription, you pay that every month. And when you order stuff from, like, et cetera. And when you today came I was like, fuck. Did you indeed skip it?
Starting point is 00:36:09 Yeah, and then I got too drunk and I skipped it. And then I stepped on it with my bare foot like on the ropey part, like Lance Hendrickson, and I got this huge bruise across the bottom of my foot. But it was fun for like a New Year's party. It sounds for... Me to skip it competition. See? Whatever. Skip it. Skip it's now are bullshit Twister makes them instead of like the original skip it with the long thing and the ball in the end.
Starting point is 00:36:33 Yeah, yeah. Doesn't even have a counter anymore. It's like... I'm not going to know how many skips or something. It's a disco glow. I don't even, I'm not even saying words anymore. Sign. Thanks, Jason. Skiff it has driven you insane. Yeah, if you don't want to buy a skip it by a cryptocurrency and parcel of terror subscription instead. Yeah, one or the other guys. Yeah, or you can buy a print from Dylan Garrett Smith. Starting point is 00:37:07 I guarantee a skippet has never been made but the ashes of a burnt church. Dylan, my birthday is in January. Can you make this happen? He has made a print from the ashes of a burnt church. Insane. Insane, he's got prints. Patches. Pins. That might be it. Yeah. Yeah. I was trying to think something else. But you can go and buy them. And they're super reasonably priced and they're gonna look cool shit in your house. Yeah. All this stuff is gonna look cool shit in your house. Yeah. One of your friends I think. Yeah. their friends. Yeah, get a cool house. Yeah, stop messing around. Or you live with your parents, get a cool room. Yeah, we're roommates, yeah. God, remember roommates where you just had to cram all your stuff in one room?
Starting point is 00:37:51 What happened? I'm just thinking about roommates. That's the worst. Hey, Katie, what are we doing next? Well, I gave you a choice of three movies to pick from the Netflix horror cue. And I decided to pick the one we could yell at the most. You picked the 2006 remake of the Wickerman. We've threatened this on a number of occasions, I think.
Starting point is 00:38:18 And it's just like since Pay the Ghost, I've had a Nick Cage shaped hole. And I need to just plug it back in. Is that cool? It's on Netflix so you can watch it for free-ish. I'm not going to talk about the old one at all because I've never seen it and I'm not gonna watch it before the next movie. No. I'm definitely going to talk about the old one. That's fine. I'll just believe whatever you say. So it's a movie about a box. It's th. It's the the th. It's th. I. I. I. I. I. I. I the the th. I the th. I th. It's the th. I th. It's th. It's th. I th. It's th. I'll just th. I'll just the th. I'll just thi. I'll just th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's the the the th. It's the the th the thi. It's the the the the that that that that the. It's that that that that that that that that to life and is the mayor of a town. Oh, sure. Who wouldn't vote cereal? We're on that cereal platform. My platform is extra marshmallows. My platform is like a little fortified with iron.
Starting point is 00:38:56 You know? Oh, what do we talking? Crackling and out of iron? They fortify everything with iron. You gotta get all that iron. You gotta get all that sound. Gotta get all that sound. So come back next week to hear us talk about the Wickerman remake. I feel like us whispering about cereal is a new low.
Starting point is 00:39:16 Or we're getting to that ASMR videos that everyone loves. Do you? Do you? It's people talking very quietly and explaining things to you. And it makes the be the back of, like the hairs on the back, people's necks, tingle? And it's like a thing on the internet. Look up at ASMR videos at some point. It's just the other thing for people to jerk off.
Starting point is 00:39:37 No, it's like pretty ladies whispering, so it's probably sexual. Probably jerking off. Probably jerking off. Okay, cool. I just wondered. So come back next week. You could find us on Facebook and Instagram and Twitter, and you can email us and you can email. And you can email. Yeah, we've got anything in the email. To be honest with you, I haven't gotten anything in the email.
Starting point is 00:39:56 To be honest with you, to be the the the the the email, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I the the the the the the the the password.
