Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey Katie. Hey, Alan. I'd like to welcome you to my home that you've never been to before even though I'm your grandfather. Hi. Hi. There's a couple rules. Well, as you can see I do taxidermy. And there's just a couple rules. First of all, um, yes. there's a couple rules. First of all you can see, I do taxidermy. Yeah. And there's just a couple rules. First of all, everything under this is mine. Wow.
Starting point is 00:00:31 Including the root beers. Yes. And the double stuff over you. Yes. I'm going to get diabetes. Thank you. Oh my god. You got little guys. I did. It's adorable. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:00:45 Wait, I can have these are known. Sure, definitely. What if I didn't let you? You'd be that grandpa. Hi, I'm Alan. I'm drinking a root beer. And we're here to talk about the Lost Boys. Oh, this is delicious.
Starting point is 00:00:58 You're listening to where warefauwillif to to to to to to to to to to to to to the to to the to to the to to the to the to the to you. I'm thanking you. And thanking you for everything, all of you. How is that root beer? Oh, it's fucking refreshing his health. I haven't had a root beer in a long time. Oh yeah, it's hot. It's hot, guys, it's hot. There was no spring here in Pittsburgh. It's like 90 degrees.
Starting point is 00:01:17 So you're going to get some fan noise and some Listen, I really don't care. It's ambience. I'm like eight months pregnant. You can all fuck off. No, that's not true. I did the math wrong. I'm like seven months pregnant. Lost Boys. Lost boys. This is your pick. 1987.
Starting point is 00:01:34 You love this goddamn movie. I'm in the prime of my life. What if I was? In the prime 30 years? Wow, this movie is 30 years old. That seems nuts. It's crazy. And I kind of big to it because I think it's the perfect summertime horror movie. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:54 Up there with jaws and like, it's the California coastline, even though everyone's wearing jackets constantly. In Santa Carla Carla, yeah, which I kept writing Santa Clara and then being like, no that's not right. It's not the murder capital of the world, but... Oh man. Yeah. I found two taglines for this movie that I'd like to read to you. To just sum up the film. Please. After moving to a new town, two brothers discovered that the area is a haven for vampires. That sounds like the movie I watched. That's that. that. th th th th th the movie. the movie. the movie. the movie. the movie. the movie. the movie. the movie. the movie. the movie. the movie. the movie. the movie. the movie. the movie. Please the movie. Please th. Please th. Please tho thi the the tho. Please. Please. Please. Please. Please. Please. Please. Please. Please. Please. Please. Please. the the the tha. It's thea. It's thea. It's tha. Please. Please. Please. Please. Please. Please. tod. tod. tod. tod. tod. It tod. It's is the the the the the the the the the the the the the the tod tod tod today. It's. It's. It's te. I's. I's te. I's. I's. I's. I's. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. te. te. te. te. te. te like the movie I watched. Yeah. A woman in her teenage sons moved to a coastal town full of vampire punks. Yeah, also, I mean, I see why you love this movie is because it's full of movie punks.
Starting point is 00:02:34 I've never seen such a high concentration of movie punks. Although, strangely, did you notice that the movie punks were billed as surfed? Yeah, that was strange. I was like, I th, I th, th, th, did th, did th, did thi thi, did thi thi, did thi, did thi, did thi, did th thi, did thi, did thi, did thi, did thi, did thi, did thi, did thi, did thi, did thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thu, thu, thu. thu. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. the. thean. thean. thean. thean. thean. th like, oh, I didn't know their political affiliation. And they didn't seem to be surfing. Or hanging, I guess they're at the boardwalk, but everyone's at the boardwalk seemingly. Wouldn't you be if Tom Capello was playing? Is that the- I still believe? Is it?
Starting point is 00:02:57 The guy looks like Sean Michaelto the bottom of it. Okay. It's dangly earrings on men. He gets like super upset about it. Why? I don't know. I don't know. I can see that if you don't like dangly earrings on men. It's gonna be a rough watch for you. But when that man appeared he lost his mind he was like, is he a wrestler? And I was like, no, he's a saxophone player and a lead vocalist. So, okay, I was into heavy metal and some punk rock in 1987. Sure. As I've referenced one but million times on this podcast. I mean, this is an episode, what, 136? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:42 I want to make sure we get that reference in there. But I can't imagine, like going like going like going like going like going like going like going like going like going like going like going like going like going like going to to go to go to go to go to to to to to to to to to to their to to to their to to to to to to th. to th. to to their to to their to to to to to to tooes. to, tooes. to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to to to to to to to to to to the the the the the the the the their the get that reference in there. But I can't imagine like going to the boardwalking me and like, guys, do you want to go head-bang to this oily, oily man playing sexophone with chains around his neck? So oily. See, I went with Brett Hart for the oiliest. He also kind of has the triple-H hair with the like pulled back top and then flowing bottom. He's just so inexplicable as a saxophone. And then he's not wearing a strap for the saxophone because that would mess up his oil. He's just holding it.
Starting point is 00:04:11 But he does have three giant chains hanging off of his neck. I love him. What is his name? Tom Capello? Is he somebody? Nope. No. from this movie as far as they can tell. Oh Tim Capello you then. Tim Capello. Go fuck. Go fuck him. He was his Wikipedia page says he's age 61 to 62. Tim doesn't tell. Tim doesn't tell. And a gentleman
Starting point is 00:04:34 never asks. He is a real saxophonist. Oh yeah he wasn't faking it. American multi-instrumentalist composer and vocalist. I found it so unbelievable that man played saxophone and it looks like eggs on my face.. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He, he. He, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he's he, he's he. He's he, he. He's he's he's the the the the w- the the, he's. Go. Go. Go. Go. Go. Go. Go. Go. Go. Go. Go. Go. Go. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He, he, he, he, he. He. He, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he's the the the the the the the the th. Go, he's t. Go f. Go f. Go f. Go f. Go f-he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's the w's the the w's the w. Go f. Go f-ist. I found it so unbelievable that that man played saxophone and it looks like eggs on my face. I have a pretty strict rock and roll saxophone rule. It's kind of, if you're not Clarence Clemens. Yeah, you don't care for it. Yeah, I'm not a huge fan. There's a couple other bands, but that's, Tim, ti's not my man. let me read you the second paragraph of his Wikipedia page, and then you tell me if this changes your mind.
Starting point is 00:05:08 I'm gonna sip a little rup here while you do this. He is notable for his muscular physique, his sexually provocative movements during his performances, and for his tendency to perform shirtless with a skin oiled and his hair in a bit. Oh, of course he did. He's amazing. And they love him. The kids love him.
Starting point is 00:05:34 He had banging along to it. Love him. A stir burglary. It's so good. I mean, I never being like, decent jam. Also, I was like, this place is the best place to live ever. These kids just moved here and they're going to this cool party show. Everyone is cooler than the next person who just walked by. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:53 Until, and then we meet the vampires. They're the coolest, do you think? I think so. What about Bill? From Bill? Marko? I kept being like trying to pick out things that I thought Rob would like and I was like look it's Bill it's Bill and he's like I see it I see that it's Bill gonna dangly ringer. And the best clip on Mullet he looks great he looks great it's like very permie. I love that this movie is like aesthetically so
Starting point is 00:06:21 heavy metal and soundtrackly so not. Well the only songs are that one that the saxophone guy plays. Yeah. And the, thou show. But like, they play that literally five or six times. That's the theme. I know that. But there's nothing else. Oh, and then there's a party where someone's listening to Aerosmith. Because I remember being like the the this party even if it meant listening to Aerosmith because it looks so fun.
Starting point is 00:06:45 The surf Nazis are listening to Aerosmith and Run DMC. Yeah, it's done by a guy named Gerard McMan. That on the Wikipedia page it says Gothic rock anthem and I'm just like I don't think you've heard Gothic rock. No I don't know what it is but it's not that. It's got a echo in the bunnyman covering the doors. Oh yeah which is weird because they have like a huge Jim Morrison poster why not just license the doors songs themselves? It's like a picture perfect cover of it too. I mean, yeah, I don't think I realized it was a cover. Then it was a Roger Dultry song, over the end credits I think.
Starting point is 00:07:32 Oh, okay. And then there's like a couple in excess songs throughout it as well. Godrest. Oh, his song. Our friend of the podcast Jim, Jim, that Michael Hutchins was the most beautiful man that ever existed. Interesting theory. Yeah. Jim also thinks Hellraiser's a good movie. He's seen all of them. I didn't say a franchise. All right so let's get into this movie. Okay. So we've got these two young kids who are there are surrogates in this movie. There's Michael, I think the name is Michael, they never say it. They never say it.
Starting point is 00:08:05 Estimated 181 times they say it in the movie. Are you including the chanting? I love the vampire's chanting. Michael, I'm like, yeah, I can get down to chanting for sure. And then his brother, Sam, so it's Jason Patrick is Michael. God, he is so hunky in this. He is beautiful. Still a handsome man, but this was like, holy smokes. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:28 And Corey Hame is his brother. God rest his soul. So sad. Yeah. There's a lot of dead in this movie, right? Are there? No, I don't know. Well, grandpa's definitely.
Starting point is 00:08:39 And Edward Herman's dead, is he? I think so. I think so. Uh, Jamie Gertz is still alive, though. And working every day, I'm sure. Star, hey star. Star. For me, this- The Edward Herman died. This is peak Kiefer Sutherland. He looks very old.
Starting point is 00:08:59 I looked up, he's like 20. Yeah. He looks like a papy. He looks terrible. I had at least three people in my life tell me that I looked like him when I was younger. That's a nice compliment though. I don't mean that he's terrible looking. No, no, but like when we're watching the movie I was like, what do you think miss? I think I look like him? She's like no you don't look anything like him. But what about now? What th. What th. What th. What th. What th? What th? What th? What th? What th? What th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that's? That's? That's? That's? That's? That's? That's? That's? That's? That's? That's? That's? That's? That's? That's? That's? That's? That's? That's? That's? That's? That's? th. that's? th. th? th? th? th. th? th? th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. theeeeeee. th. theeeeeeeeeea? theeeeeeeeeeeeeat's a theee? th how about now? Bleached my hair, stuck it straight up. Yeah. Oh man, such good style.
Starting point is 00:09:27 Can I tell something I don't like? Please. That his name is David. I just don't find it menacing enough. It's a hard name to yell and to their name David. It's a hard name to yell. When is Michael's trying to like like to like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like to like to like to like to like to like to call to call to call to call like to call like call like call like call like call like call like call like call like call like call. You're always whining when you say the name David, you know. But Marco and Dwayne. Who is Dwayne? Dwayne is the black-haired guy.
Starting point is 00:09:48 He is from other things too, I feel that I recognize him, but he also, I feel like he doesn't have lines in those either. No, he's just like the hunky guy who is in things. Yeah. And then Paul, Brooke McCartter is that's is that's, is that's, is that's, is the that's, is that's, that's, the rounds out the gang of vampires. And he is passed away as well. Oh God, all these deads. And then there's the Frog Brothers who we meet in the comic bookshop. Corey Feldman and James and Newlander.
Starting point is 00:10:14 Can I tell you where I know Dwayne from? Yes. And this is terrible. This is fucking terrible. He was a competitor on American Gladdy. Yeah, he was. He was. the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi thi thi thi thi thi thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, th. th. th. th. Yeah, he was. In the first season, and he was like kind of an asshole. He was like real cocky to the Gladiators.
Starting point is 00:10:31 Was that his character? Yeah. But he wasn't a Gladiator. He was a conestant on American Gladiators. And the Gladiators are like these just these juiceded up monsters. And just the glad the glad the glad thia thia thia thia th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thus, thus, th, thiators, like, like, like, like, like, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th. He was like, th. He was like, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. thiiiaugh, thi, thi, thi, thiaugh, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi limb, Billy Worth. I was like, why do I know that name? He was a contestant on American Gladiators. I feel like, filthy. That you had his name locked in because of them is so beautiful. Thank you. I do love your knowledge set. The things that are just like in your brain. There's so much I should know and don't. And there's so much I know and shouldn't. Oh Billy where the fuck was on American gladiators? He was a
Starting point is 00:11:07 dick see they don't the gladiators and like that so they would like whenever they would do like powerball where there'd be like two competitors and three gladiators they would like two they would double team. Oh yeah yeah because he was a dic. I know he was a he was a he was a he was a he was a he was a he was a d. I. I he was a d. I he. I he was a d' he- I they they. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Anyway, I'm sorry. You were, you were, you were explaining this movie. Yeah, they moved to the town and they get a foul of this vampire gang. I love Diane Weist by the way. Oh, she's so great. I love her from Lawnardtor also. Oh, she becomes Jack McCoy's boss after a while, yeah. I don't know who Jack McCoy is. I have someone. the, I. thu…. thu…. thu. thu. thu. I. I. I. thu. th. th. Yeah. th. I. th. th. th. th. th. th. they. they. I they. I they. I they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they're they're they they're theyld me how many times I mentioned Jack McCoy on this show. I know, I still, like I've never watched.
Starting point is 00:11:45 It's Sam Waterston. Oh, okay. He's a hard-nosed DA. Who doesn't care so much about the law as he does about winning? That sounds like it could be detrimental. You know, it is sometimes. Does it benefit him them though? He sometimes, it's sort of Machia Mach Mach Mach Mach Mach Mach Mach Mach Mach Mach Mach Mach Mach Mach Mach Mach Mach Mach Mach Mach Mach Mach Mach Machia, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's sort of Machia, it's sort of Machia, it's sort of Machia, it's sort of Machia, it's sort of Machia, it's sort of Machia, it's sort of Machia, it's sort, it's sort of Machiavellian, you know, he had, why, let's not do this.
Starting point is 00:12:05 Yeah, she's great. I think she's in a couple Woody Allen movies as well. Yeah. So she has divorced her husband and moved in with her father. Who says to her, you're the only woman I know who hasn't improved your situation by getting divorced, sir. That's just not how it works. At least not right out of the gate. No, I mean, no one's like, I don't know, that made me mad. Most women do not improve their situations by being divorced. But Phoenix isn't that far from California. Why had the kids never been to his house before? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:12:37 I don't know. True. Somewhere on the coast. I want to live in his house. It was amazing. With all the stuffed animals? Yeah. Really? All the other stuff too. It's a cool house. It was a cool house. I do not want to live in Edward Herman's house. There's too much neon inside of someone's house. Oh, I know. That's that's distressing. But it turns out, I mean, spoilers for this movie. He's a bad guy. the bad the th th th th th th th th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. the the thi. thi. thi. thi. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the their stuff. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. Yeah. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. th. th. th. th bad guy anyway. He's bad taste, bad guy. Do you think it was the clear-ribed glasses that were a giveaway that he was a bad guy? I thought they were really cool. They're like super in now, right? Yeah, that'd he look great. He was like too hip for his age in 1987. Yeah, running a video store when video stores were cool. Video too' scars, thii. A movieks, sunken hotels that vampires hang out in with giant Jim Morrison posters? That confused me a little bit, but that's fine.
Starting point is 00:13:30 Why? Because when they go to the hotel later on in the movie, there's no evidence above ground that it exists. So weird. So weird. So the vampires, like, I guess, I'm confused by their desire for Michael. They want him to be one of them. I think it's because he stands up to them.
Starting point is 00:13:50 Okay. They're like, he's got moxy. How many, like, how many people do you, I guess, they don't seem to do this very often. There's not that many of them. But they're like starting fights, the first, when first we meet them, they're on a carousel, like starting shit with one of the movie punks and his lady friend. Right, why? Live them alone.
Starting point is 00:14:09 They get roughed up by the security guard who then, in this sweeping overhead shot, we watch him walking to his car and then they come down and rip them apart. So like what is their MO? The vampires? They're just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just. they're just just. their? they're just. their? they're just. they're just, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, their. their. their. their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their. their. their. their.? I guess so. We learn later that Edward Herman, we find out, is trying to make a new family. And he wants Diane Weist to be the mother of the boys. Right. Which isn't reveal until the last five minutes of the movie. Right. But the, but the, so for the movie, the vampires are just hanging out riding dirt bikes. Right. dirt bikes. Right? Dirt bikes is movie. It's a very 80s conceit.
Starting point is 00:14:45 It is. I like Michael is drawn to Star. It was Jamie Gertz. Her hair is fantastic. It's amazing. I feel like I missed my big curly hair window and it's really a bummer to me. You think it missed it and can't go back in there? I don't think it's too. Be stoked. Yeah. Just with Laddie in toe.
Starting point is 00:15:08 Did you recognize Laddy? No, should I? He's been in a movie we've done before. Whoa. He's the kid from Pumpkinhead. The little kid? I think so? I think so?
Starting point is 00:15:17 Now I'm questioning, but I think it's named Ed Harley. Chance Michael Corbett. He doesn't have a Wikipedia, so I'm web-searching him. It's literally called web-searching. Yeah, Pumpkin Head, thin-head. Pumpkin-head! I thought that was him. Wow, good, good grab.
Starting point is 00:15:34 Good pick-em-ups. Good pick-em-ups. Ed Hardy. I feel like we spent that entire episode talking about Ed Hardy. That was not the man's name. That movie is so ridiculous. She'd go back and listen to her pumpkin head episode. Yeah, it's a good one. And I also forgot that we did a pumpkin head episode until it shows right now.
Starting point is 00:15:55 Honestly, someone mentioned like an episode we'd done to me recently, and I was like, I've never seen that movie. We had a friend of the podcast podcast podcast podcast podcast page that she just watched All Cheerleaders Must Die. Yeah. And I was like, what the fuck? Oh yeah, yeah, we did that movie. Yeah, that was a good one. I like that one.
Starting point is 00:16:12 I think that was, that was, Glad we can bring some joy to your life. So Pamela, I believe her name was. So Michael is Hot for Star and Star hangs out with these vampires. And so there's a dirt bike race, ride? I don't know what the fuck happened. Just proving of one's worth on a dirt bike, which is a feel very 80s thing to do. You know where Hopkins Point is? Sure, I've been here an hour. Of course I know where that is. I is. I is. I is thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi is thi is thi thi thi tho tho tho tho- tho that's tho- tho- tho- tho- tho- tho- tho- th- th- th- th- th- th- th- th- th- th- th for th for th for th for th for th for th for th- th- th- th- th- th- th- th- th- th- th- th- tho- tho- tho-a tho-a-a-a-a-s tho'-s thoats for thoats for to-s-s'-s'-s'-s'-s'-a'-s'-s'-s'-s'-a'-s'-s'-s'-s'-s'-s thoto do. You know where Hopkins Point is? Sure, I've been here an hour. Of course I know where that is. I moved in today. And they ride up there and almost run Michael off the cliff and then giggle at him for a while.
Starting point is 00:16:53 There's a lot of laughing in this movie. Oh, so much giggling. Everyone's so fun with mirth and joy. Oh, the note taunting motorcyclists taunt him. Sure. One thing we forgot to mention is that during all of the town scenes or the, I guess, boardwalk scenes, there are bulletin boards showing posters of missing children. And there's like laddies on the milk carton. It seems like the FBI should be there.
Starting point is 00:17:23 Swarming, right? There's so many missing kids in Santa Carla, California, not Santa Clara. I feel like it was filmed in Santa Monica, I think. I think it's all. Bum. Bum. Bum. Bum. Bum. Tick, tick, bum. No? Fun fact about me? I fucking love that song. Everybody fucking loves that song. It's perfect. It's so dumb. Everclear made that song and then they were like, what can we fuck up? Because that was, that's, this was too good. Is that the one about his dad or is that? He does do a song about his dad.
Starting point is 00:17:56 That one's good too. Here's a thing in my knowledge base. He had like a normal dad. That's like a song about someone he knows dad, like someone else's experience. And that makes me really mad because I feel like his dad's like out on the golf course with his buddies and they're like, why'd you leave your kid? And he's like, God damn it, Everclear, I coached your Wiffleball team. You know what I mean? Fucking Everclear. What the big black boots. No, yeah, like, I feel like that's got to be so shameful for his dad. Who's like at the firm with his partners, you know?
Starting point is 00:18:29 I've let ever clear down somehow and I just don't know what I did wrong. I gave him everything. I bought him all the bleach for his hair. I didn't, told him his goate looked fine black while his hair was bleached. Why isn't that guy dead? Everybody else is. I was listening to 16 candles by sponge today. Oh that's a great jam. That intro riff is so good the true band. Yeah, two good songs. Yeah that's it. Say prayer for me is that?
Starting point is 00:19:02 Yeah. That's it. That's it. Say try. Is that the, I don't know. Yeah. All right, well, whatever. The world of human rickage. That's the one with the good riff. The ba- I don't know, why don't know, why don't know. Yeah. Sponchalk. Remember the character sponge from Salute your shorts?
Starting point is 00:19:20 What the fuck is to loot your shorts? It was like a children's television show and Nickelodeon in the early 90s. It was Canadian because most programming was Canadian. For sure. And the smart kid was sponge. Because his brain was like a sponge. Oh, all right. It was great. Did they run their shorts up a flagpole? Yeah. Oh, okay. Yeah, they got it. Got it. Got it. the the the the the the the the the the. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. their. the. the. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. t. t. t. t. t. t. S. S. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t... t. t... Michael starts hanging out with these vampires. Well, they make him drink the blood, right? Well, it's wine. After he eats the worms. Oh, that seemed, I remember, I remember being very scary when I was a kid. Because my nona loves this movie, by the way. Oh, wow. So good.
Starting point is 00:19:59 She loves, she's big into vampires, they were like so mainstream. I remember none of showing me Buffy the Vampire's Laird and being like, you're gonna like this. She was a movie or TV show? The movie. Ah, so good. Which is that Luke Perry thing, we shared that Luke Perry thing too. But yeah, she would always quote that line. Yeah, she would always remember that scene being like I would have to like look away I was so scared that he was eating maggots you know it's so gross
Starting point is 00:20:26 and now I'm like oh those aren't maggots but you know yeah the mystery is gone I guess is what I'm saying I kind of want to put the grandpa explaining the TV guide scene on par with like the sinking of the Indianapolis scene and jaws where that's just like this great monologue that happens and she's like, all right, the TV guide's gonna come where the address is, the label's gonna be peeled back sometimes, you're gonna want to tear that off but you're not gonna tear that off but you're not gonna te. It's gonna rip the cover and it's like to rip the cover and wouldn't know what was going to be on TV because there were articles you'd like to read the article sometimes it'd be in the bathroom you know who knows where the TV guide's gonna end up and once he got really mad and like drilled a
Starting point is 00:21:10 hole through the corner of it and tied a piece of string in it and then tied it to the the coffee table but in like typical the the the you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you the you you you you you you you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you the the you know you know you know you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the to to tm tm try try try try try try to to to try to to to to to to to to the the the the the the the the the the the tt So it was just like, it was like fucking September and June 6th, 1993's TV guide was just tied to the coffee table. Just proven a fucking point every day. Just proven a fucking point to these goddamn ungrateful kids. We never had TV guy when I was a kid. No. Because you had a TV. If you had a TV guide, you don't need a TV. So good.
Starting point is 00:21:44 I hope that the writer of this movie encountered someone, I the TV. the TV. the TV. the the need a TV. So genius. So good. I hope that the writer of this movie encountered someone who had told him that. I just give the TV guide. It's pretty perfect. The grandpa is an amazing character. Why do you feel about that ponytail? Like it. An year old and you live in Santa Carla?
Starting point is 00:21:58 Yeah, you do what you want. It seemed like the widow, whoever, liked it. When he's searching for after shave and he puts windex on this, he goes like, oh, that's gonna burn. It's pretty great. He was also not clean shaven, so it didn't matter. It's just covered up the smell of all the vermin. So Michael drinks the wine after the great worms and maggots scene. Yeah, which is classic. You all know this. You know this. You've seen this movie, right? Well, I hope so. If not, we're totally ruining it for you. And... And... They knew this would happen.
Starting point is 00:22:28 I'm constantly shocked by what we do. And then they drive out to this train trestle, and which, for me, having a fear of heights, this is one of the scariest scenes in thia thia th. th. th. th. thin, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th. They th. They th. They th. They th. They th. They th. They, th. They, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thin, thin, thin, thin, theeea. And, thin, thea. And, thea. And, theea. And, thi. And, the. They thi, thi. And in the movie. Yeah, it's definitely distressing. David says, say, good night, Marco, or whatever he says to him, and Marco, like snaps his fingers and jumps off the train trestle. Bill, you mean? Yeah, Bill. Bill. And then the other three follow.
Starting point is 00:22:54 And then they're calling for Michael. And so he I jump down. Oh, no way. No way, who could? Vampires. I guess. Well, they don't have, they can fly. It's true. Because then they jump off the train trestle too, they let go. Yeah. And they're fine, I guess.
Starting point is 00:23:13 And Michael flies into his own bed. He does. Come on. Didn't he get the dangly earring to impress Star? Did he? Yeah, he got it on the boardwalk because Sam was giving him shit about it. Oh right, outdoor piercings. Yeah. Would you befriend the frog brothers? No, they probably smell bad. Would you?
Starting point is 00:23:42 Are their parents dead? They do not move. Yeah, I mean, I was going to say they're in the movie. We've seen them. They exist. But they don't shift from that position. Edgar and Alan Frog? I have a fear that I was the frog brothers when I was a kid.
Starting point is 00:23:57 You think there was an Edgar? You think you'd like a twin that you absorbed or something? Is that what you mean? Because you're Alan. No, that was just the weird kid who really likes comic books and vampire movies and stuff. No, yeah, that sounds about right. I guess, what if there was? What if, oh boy? What if I absorbed my twin, but like later. Like at like 16? Come here, buddy.
Starting point is 00:24:22 Suddenly you were Edgar Allen. Frog. They're assholes. They're complete and utter assholes. I love the voice that Corey Feldman is doing. What is he doing? I don't know. Do you think he was directed to do that?
Starting point is 00:24:36 I don't, I don't think. I do, by cocaine. Oh, he was just a baby. Yeah, that's when they started, they started, their lives are just like a cautionary tale, for sure. Of like, hey, maybe put a little bit more reins on your kids. Yeah. Maybe you don't get your kid into acting. Yeah. Kids! Don't get into acting. Don't go to Studio 54 when you're eight years old and do cocaine.
Starting point is 00:25:00 Yeah, that's terrible. I guess it's true very more. Not these thahahahahahahah. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. they's they's they's they's they's they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they's they's they's they's they's. they's. they's. they's. they's. they's. they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they're. they're. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. thea. thea. thea. thea. toda. today. thea. thea. thea. thea. they're they're they're theyrible. I guess it's true Barrymore, not these guys, but still. Still. God, I can't. I'm a kid. All right, I had limitless energy as a child. I can't imagine what cocaine would have done to me. Honestly, like pixie sticks were a danger. Oh, they still are. I think I'm feeling crazy from this. I know you're getting, as this is, as this is, as this is, as this is, as this is, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to thi, I thi, thi, the thi., the the the the the the the the the the thea, thii., thi., toooooooooooooo, too, too a cookie. No, I'm not ready for a cookie. I'm not ready. Okay, all right. Oh, well, I am. Thanks.
Starting point is 00:25:26 Thanks for bringing, I can open these, right? Because I already did. They're actually on my shelf. Do you see the flap that says Grandpa's? I'm just thin. I'm putting into that. Thanks. I don't know if they have double stuff in the 80s. Oh yeah, yeah. It seems like a modern invention because it's kind of stupid, you know. In the 80s, they had a thing called the Oreo big stuff.
Starting point is 00:25:51 What? Which was a five inch round, about the size of a compact disc. Oreo cookie. What? They came in single packages? Thank God. Was it thick? Oh, yeah. Like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, thi? thi. thi. thi? thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thoom? tho? the the the the th. the th. the th. the the the the the the th. the the the the the the th. the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the th. th. the th. thi? thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thea. thea. theauoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. th. th. th thick or thin? Who's thick? Oh yeah. Like how thick? Like, like a hockey
Starting point is 00:26:06 buck? Uh, maybe like half a hockey book. Wow. What'd eat? Yeah. That's probably good. I did eat. That was delicious, thank you. I feel it was the heyday of cookies. Who are these people in the front of the Oreo package? Oh, that is Pittsburgh's own, Christina Aguilera. And Chiquil O'Neill? And Shaquille O'Neal? Why? Christine Aguilera went to my rival high school. Everybody said she smelled like hot dogs.
Starting point is 00:26:34 It's true. She was the older than me. Oh wow. They were just jealous. They were just jealous of those pipes. Yeah, they played Jeannie in a bottle at the senior prom and everybody walked off the dance floor. Yeah, it's a rich kid high school. So she was already a thing? I think so. I think she like had a big her senior year. So I would have been a couple years younger. I guess I just quit learning things at some point, I guess is the problem.
Starting point is 00:27:05 I learned and learned and then I was like, fuck it. Who's Tronnell Dump? I don't know. Oh God, you'd be so much better off. I know. What if I just ended on Jeannie in a bottle in 1998, 1999? Whatever. It'd be pretty dope. This movie is just, uh, it's one of those movies where not a ton of stuff happens. No. It's kind of about the interpersonal workings.
Starting point is 00:27:30 So Michael comes home and tries to drink milk and spills it all over the floor, doesn't clean it up, and then he leaves. He leaves the fridge door open. Yes. Is this when he floats out the window? Might be. He does that more than once? No. There's the one big one where he's like sleeping and he wakes up, pressed up against the ceiling.
Starting point is 00:27:52 Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. Which is a great- That's very nightmare in Elm Street. Yeah, for sure. I feel like this movie could be in my fright night-a. continuum as well. Yeah, that universe. Yeah, except that it references the Karate Kid. Does it? Yeah, when then one of the shots of the bulletin boards has a poster for the All Valley Tournament and I was like that has to be a reference to the Karate Kid. Like that's awesome. It can't be a real thing. Whoa, hold on. Do we just fold the Karate Kid? I think we might have. I think we might have like. It was also also also also also also also also also also also also also also also also also also also also also also also also sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort. It's also sort. It's also sort. It's also sort. It's the sort. It's a sort sort. the the the the sort. th. th. It's a sort. It's a sort. It's a sort. It's a sort. It's a sort. It's a sort. It's a sort. It's a sort. It's a the the the the the the the the the. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It's. It. It. It. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's the. It's the. It's also. It's also. It's the karate. I think we might have. I think we might. It's also sort of a like a similar premise like this kid moves to California from another place with his single mom and gets into trouble with those local youths. Yeah these
Starting point is 00:28:34 it's basically the same movie. They basically like broke Ralph Machio into two characters. So they like removed his dorkiness into Sam yeah and his cool guy into Michael cool guy. He is cool in that movie though and then you watch and you're like no you're not. Like who is telling you that you are? Elizabeth Shoe I guess. And if Elizabeth Shoe tells you you're cool. You're probably 100% cool.
Starting point is 00:29:00 Allie with an eye. Anyway. Yeah, but I see this universe that we're building I'm pretty into it. So he floats out the window and then is like knocking on Sam's window or from his mom. Yeah. Or does he call his mom? It doesn't matter. He's always hassling his mom. She's out to dinner with Max. Yeah. And she calls to make sure everything's all right and he starts screaming and she's like oh God I have to get home because Michael's floating outside the window. Right, right.
Starting point is 00:29:26 And he gets him to let him in by saying, I'm your brother Sammy. Yeah, it's very supernatural. Yeah. It's all that stuff. For brothers. I wonder, I wonder if Supernatural, like, did a little Sam, brother Sam. Everything's in time. Everything's intertwined. Yeah, and it's just it's just a lot of scenes like that have then like getting in and out of trouble. Like there's the scene where Michael is like freaking out and he's gonna eat Sam. But in a nook like tackles him down the steps.
Starting point is 00:29:56 I don't like that dog at all. Oh, he fucking love. Yeah, like a husky type. that's a today. tod. tod. tod. tod. tod. tod. tod. tod. tod. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. thus. thus. thus. thus. thus. thus. thus. thus. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. theeee. thee. the thee. the. the. the. the. the. theky type job. Get out of here with that shit. That's a mean dog. That's a bad dog. How do you feel about the song that Sam's listening to while he's taking a bath? He's got a home. Oh yeah. It seemed out of character for him. But I was confused by his tasks because the posters in his room are inexplicable. There's like, the back of his closet door. Roblo? Was it Roblo? I was like, ha ha, that's Rob Lo, but I thought I was like, I can't actually be. So I'm trying to figure out if they were doing like some coating
Starting point is 00:30:29 to be like, oh, Sam is like the gays on. I guess. And like, because he's super into fashion and his clothes are so busted, 1987 fashionable that does not communicate anywhere. Oh god. And just the most colorful like blammo like like an insane color combination. Well this movie is like a Peter Pan remake right? Yeah hence the Lost Boys. Yeah is Pete I've never seen or read Peter Pan. Oh the little kids in Peter Pan are called the Lost Boys. But is one of them gay? I don't think so. But they're much younger than these kids. Okay. They're much younger than these. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. But is one of them gay? I don't think so. But they're much younger than these kids. They're like eight years old. And but no, I just thought that that was a little bit of like,
Starting point is 00:31:14 I mean, he's also got the huge Molly Ringwald poster. Right. Which is like the screenshot from Breakfast Club or 16 candles or whatever. If it was like that kind of a the the theynich they of theyn, theyn, th, thiiiiiiii th, th. th. thi thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th. th. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th. th. th. I thi, thi, thi, thi, thin, thin, thin, thin, theeean, thin, thean, thin. It's thean. It's thean. It's theat, theeat, thee. It's was like that kind of like coding but not like not discussed, I kind of appreciate that in 1987 because we've watched plenty of other movies from that time period where they're just like throwing F-bombs around like it's nothing like Monster Squad and... Right, totally. But so it's interesting. I guess this is also sort of one of, it claims to be at least, one of the first horror comedies. They claim to have invented the genre.
Starting point is 00:31:46 No way, I haven't stalled-meet Frankenstein. That's a good point. Ghost and Mr. Chicken? Oh, I got a lot of them. I think it's just a Joel Schumacher thing, you know. What do I know Joel Schumacher from? Let's click on him. Batman. Oh, he did the bad Batman's, right? Batman Forever, Batman and Robin. He did a Time to Kill, 8mm phone booth.
Starting point is 00:32:08 Hmm. But he also did St. Elmo's Fire, flatliners. The client, the John Grisham adaptation. Get out of here. I've often thought we should do flatliners at some point. I've actually never seen flatliners. Oh. Is it a horror movie? Yeah, yeah, they go, um, they've... It's also Kiefer Sutherland. And I think Kevin Bacon and Julia Roberts. And William Baldwin.
Starting point is 00:32:30 Oh. Okay, Billy Baldwin. they, the gross Baldwin. They find a way to kill themselves, stay dead for a little while, and think I have seen this. And they, like, bring something back with them on the other side. Yeah, this is sounding familiar. It's pretty alright, if I remember correctly. I feel like it's on a USA network as a kid. Oh, definitely.
Starting point is 00:32:52 Okay. A hundred percent. Great. While you're waiting for night flight to start, that's going to be the. . being a vampire, which he enlists the help of the Frog Brothers for, because they are comic book nerds and have this knowledge. And they're warning him about the vampires. Right.
Starting point is 00:33:10 They've been warning him since he got there. Giving him to destroy all vampires comic books. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. And they say that if you kill the top vampire, everybody else goes back to normal. Right. Hmm. Is that a Dracula lore? So yeah, yeah, yeah, for sure. So I can't remember if it's Dracula or if it started somewhere else, but I have heard that elsewhere. Sam and list the frog brothers to go with him to the hotel to kill. Oh, no, wait. First, there's
Starting point is 00:33:36 the dinner scene. Because they suspect that Max. Yeah, rightly. Right. Right. I thou. Yeah, they invite Max over for dinner and they're determined to figure out if he's a vampire. By shutting off the lights and see if he glows, which I've never heard before. I don't think that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's th. th. th. th. th. the they. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. that. that. that. th. th. that's, that's, th. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. th. th. th. th. th. They give him Parmesan cheese to put on his pasta, and it's a ton of garlic, and I was like, I could probably hang with that garlic.
Starting point is 00:34:10 Also, you'd probably know when you were putting it on there. You probably take a look at it. They both have a different stink. Yeah. Parmig. up to his face. When the lights come back on and he's looking into the mirror, I really like that. Edward Herman's great, he's got really good comedic timing in this. Yeah. I've never thought of this as a comedy. That's funny.
Starting point is 00:34:31 Really? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, I just think it was like a good time movie, but I like what they don't know is that he was invited into the house and that is like standard vampire lore. Sure. Like you might remember from Fright Night where Hunky Hunky Chris Sarandon have to be invited into the house. What's Chris Sarandon doing right now? Yeah, probably just thinking about you. Probably. Probably up to you? Probably listening to that Friday night episode like yeah. They kind of ruined the date night between because they throw a holy water into his crotch and that's the last straw. That's really the end of most dates I feel. So he splits and tells mom that they could do it again and they have

And when Corey Feldman, I think it's Corey Feldman, shouts. Yeah. Shouts, we trash the one who looks like twisted sister, which I really liked. But he shalts it like, to like, to like, to tomute? Like what is he doing?
Starting point is 00:35:46 Why? Maybe he heard Frog Brothers and he was like, well, I guess I'll talk like Froggy from our gang? I guess. He's doing it. He's hitting it. Remember how good he is in the burbs? He's so good in everything, really, I feel, I really do love Corey Feldman in movies. I think better as the Corrie's, of the Corries.
Starting point is 00:36:07 Hmm? You think is the better? What about, what about Lucas? Have you seen Lucas? Yeah. That's Haim. That's Haim. Yeah. Oh, that's a rough one.
Starting point is 00:36:17 I feel like Corey Hamme got more of the serious roles. Like Lucas. Yeah. Right after we do my girl. He caught it? Did he catch it? He catches it doesn't? He catch it with his helmet? Does he die? He dies at the end? He dies at the end. Lucas, spoiler. First think I'm, first of all, I don't think he dies. I think I'm mixing it up with Rudy. All I remember from Rudy is them all holding him up at the end. He was off sides anyway. Fuck Notre Dame. Okay.
Starting point is 00:37:00 I can't remember who it was that I was talking to about Lord of the Rings and they were just kept talking about how annoying Rudy was. I was like, that's Sam Wise Gamgee. Yeah. I like Sean Ashton too, except for Cabin Fever Patience Hero, which is the worst movie I've literally ever seen in my life. I can't believe you watched that movie. I mean, I feel like he would read the script first.
Starting point is 00:37:26 Oh my God. Can we talk about the movie punks? This is earlier in the movie than we are right now, but so the lady movie punk who gets messed with on the car and her boyfriend are like in the back of their car. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. sad sack and going, aha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! At a comic book. Yeah, everybody's really into comic books in this movie. He's like kind of reading it over her shoulder too, which seems very rude to me.
Starting point is 00:37:51 Well, he's trying to like neck with her or something, yeah. What's it's not trying to neck with you? Put down your comic book or leave? I guess. Sad sack is just so compelling. So weird. So they kill Marco. And it wakes everybody else up. And they're like, rah. Oh wait, do we skip.
Starting point is 00:38:13 We skipped where they went, they took Michael to show him that they're vampires. What, when they- Wouldn't that the trussle? No, that's where they go to the party. Yeah, where the punks are hanging out around the party, head-banging to Aerosmith and run DMC. Yeah. And there's the, so they climb up into a tree and they're like, Michael, we're going to go, you know, hang out with those dudes.
Starting point is 00:38:34 Yeah. And then they turn around eat all the punks, but there's a great scene where there's like a skinhead that one of them bites into and his head just like pops like a grape. There's so much blood coming out of them. I feel like movies often do that. I don't know why that would work. It's so fun though. It's so ridiculous. And then they come back to them and they're all just covered in gore and I was like, what is up with vampires not like just wearing their food? I don't know. So sloppy and then were were werewolves. I know.
Starting point is 00:39:11 I feel like vampires should be more fastidious than that. Exactly. It should be like Hannibal. I got to see that scully right. It does have that scully. Yeah as a psychiatrist. Yeah Yeah. All right. So yes, they kill Marco. They wake everybody up. David gets burnt by the sun. And they take, well they take Star and Laddy with them. Why is his name Laddie? Why is his name Laddy? Why wouldn't it be? All right. Fair enough. Star has revealed to Michael that. they're neither? their. have had their first kill so they're not fool vampires but Michael was supposed to be her first kill yeah and said they fuck yeah just hilarious it's gross it's actually gross I don't know why I found a gross but I did
Starting point is 00:39:56 for some reason because he's like hey I need information she's like oh yeah totally yeah yeah that's what it is. I've got this information for you. It's in my butt. Meanwhile, okay, so they go back to Grandpa's house, and they know that the vampires are going to come for them. Yeah, yeah. They like, straight up trash Grandpa's house, and it makes me really mad. They home alone it. Yeah, I don't like that. Grandpa's like a retired old man. It's true, we're living on a pension.
Starting point is 00:40:30 Yeah. Supplementing it by stuffing everyone's animal and eat. Yeah, everyone's animals. Oh, there's the great city where he's going out at his date and he's taking a little dog with him. And Michael's like, he's the great, he's the great, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's th. He's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, th. He's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's taking a little dog with him. Yeah. And Michael's like, oh, did you stuff her husband? And I'm just like, it's so mad. It's so funny, Michael. I was like, it's kind of funny. Like Sam doesn't have a sense of humor. It's not not funny.
Starting point is 00:40:55 Grandpa didn't find it funny. Grandpa's confusing. Grandpa's sense of humor is confusing. But he's so good. Yeah. So yes, they fill the bathtub full of holy water and garlic. Which I like that they got the holy water during a baptism that was pretty funny after that. And everything just stops. Yeah everyone just just stares at them. And the one frog brother gives them the thumbs up and tears out. It's so good. It's pretty good. And they've got squirt guns filled with holy water and a long bow a long bow shoot stakes into people. Yeah Which they're pretty accurate.
Starting point is 00:41:28 They had archery and they're high school in Phoenix, Arizona. Yeah so the vampires attack death by stereo. That's a bad name. That's a band name. I heard that and I was like uh huh. Uh huh. There's the the seed where the one the blonde vampire that isn't Marco, was upstairs and he's like cornering the frog brothers and they're like standing next to the bathtub full of garlic and he goes, garlic doesn't work, you idiots. And they throw the holy water in his face and he just starts melting and I was like, melting's cool. Melting is cool.
Starting point is 00:42:01 Then Nannook, Nuk,the bathtub and that was cool. Fucking a nook for the for the win. Yeah, huh still So why is Laddie like why is he going? Arra? Why does he get all crazed? Had he killed someone event? I mean, what was the he hadn't but like Michael kind of vamps to when they're killing so I don't know if it's like? the star tou thart's the star kind the the the the the th's the th's the the the the th's the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th's they. they. they. th. th. they. they're th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. Why. Why. Why is. Why is. Why is. Why is like. Why is like. Why is like. Why is like. Why is like. Why is like. Why is like. Why is like. Why is like. Why is like. Why is like. Why. I'm sure Jamie Gertz is like, mm-mm. Not putting that on my thing. I'm sure it was with the star power of Jamie Gertz, you can really make those kinds of, post Solar Babies, also with Jason Patrick in 1986, I believe. I have never seen solar babies and I'm certain I never will. It's a sci-fi movie. I know that you like those about roller skating. What? Okay, maybe I will. That's what they say, try Holywater, death breath.
Starting point is 00:42:50 Death breath. Frogbillives have all the cool lines in this movie. They're very deadpan, which I like a lot. The attack of Eddie Munster. Like they're doing them while they're getting attacked. They've got the one-liners, like. It seems like they should be frightened, but they're like, yeah, let's go down in the hideout. Let's go, we'll lure them to your house, we'll kill them. It's like, you guys are... I wonder if they've killed before. These aren't their first vampires.
Starting point is 00:43:15 I mean, these three vampires, or maybe they were were, they were, they were, their, they were, they were, tho, they're, tho, tho,. Yeah. I don't know. I don't think we're reading too much into it. I'm sure more than they did when they wrote it. So David gets impaled on a pair of Grandpa's antlers. And Michael and Starr and Laddie do not turn back. Right. And mom shows up to save the day with Max. And Max comes in and walks right up to David and takes his glasses the and lets out a big sigh. Oh you were the bad guy all along. Which I love
Starting point is 00:43:51 because he's a total dork. Yeah. He's not cool he's not suave. It's just like you're nerdy like new stepdad. Yeah. And who thinks he's cool because he runs a video store? Yeah and has those nice clear frames. And yeah, and Neon in his house. They would just get annoying, you're trying to watch TV and there's just blink, blank, blank. Like being in a bar all the time. And so he turns into a vampire. And Grandpa drives his pick him up the truck, which we know has thau, has has has has has has has thau, has thau, has tho, has tho, has wooden thin, has wooden thinks thinks thinks thinks thinks thinks thinks thi, has wooden thi, their thi, their thi, and he their, and he their, and he has wooden their, and he their, and he their, and he their their their their, and he their, and he their. And he their, and he their, and he their, and he their, and he their, and he their, and he their, and he their, and he their, and he their.... And he their, and he their, and he their. And he thi. And he thi. And he thi. And he was thi. And he was the. the. thean thean thean thean thean thean thean thean their thean. And he was just thi. And he thi. And he th back of it because he was fixing the fence. Oh, that's why. I couldn't figure out why he was filled with steaks. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:26 And he just rams it into the house. So grandpa does the most damage to the house. That's true. And then he says the thing about living here, the thing he couldn't stand was all the movie. It's such a great closing shot on the mom and two kids just staring at him like, what? Why didn't? You think he would mention that before they moved there?
Starting point is 00:44:51 If they had any kind of relationship with him. Like, beware. There are vampires. So that is pretty much the lost boys. Yeah. You want to rate this shit? I want to rate this shit? I want to rate it. I'm a froth brother. Hey, hey, Corey. That was like, yeah, that was more like the dying wrestler from the 80s. Yeah. Brother. Oh, he's dead inside.
Starting point is 00:45:19 Not all that of money, it just came back to life. Yeah, that's true. Nobody's a racist so whatever. Nobody would have known that they didn't leak my porn tape. Do you want me to go first? Yeah. This movie's a fucking 9.75. How are you going to do that? I'm going to do it because I feel like I could understand if you did not dig this movie. Because it's a dangly earrings. It's so corny. Because you were so mad at Rob for not like they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they didn't they they didn't they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to th to to the to to to to to to to to to the to to the the the they they take this movie. Because it's a dangly earrings. It's so corny. Because you were so mad at Rob for not liking it, to be fair when we were talking about it last weekend. It's so, but it's so like, I watched it so like, I watched it four times in one day. To this time?
Starting point is 00:45:58 No, no, no, no, no, like when I was like 14 years old. It was like, it was just, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, to to to to to to to to to be like, to be like, to to to be, to be like, to to to to to to to to to to to be, to be, to be to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be th. the. to to to to to to to to to to to to be to be to be to be to be to be I'm just gonna watch Lost Boys as many times. I put it in a full work day of Lost Boy. Rwind. So it's just kind of like, you know, it's very stuck with me and like they're also cool looking and like the soundtrack is so ridiculous. You love dangling. And in excess. So this is a perfect movie. Yeah. So why is it not a perfect movie? Because I could just see like, I can,
Starting point is 00:46:26 there's all the things I just described are enough for someone to go, mm-mm. But it's not what they, it's not about what they think. It's what you think. I gave a child's play too, okay. You gotta think it's so thi for you for you for you for you're to to to to to to their their to their thi. I. I. I. I. I. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I love the montage dancing around in the hotel scene that's just like layered over each other. Oh god it's so silly. The whole thing is pretty silly. It's just a silly, silly movie but I do love it very much. Katie, what do you think of this one? I also really enjoyed this movie. I don't watch it that often, but I have really fond memories of watching it with my, with my nonna um, and it's real good. Everybody's good in it.
