Starting point is 00:00:00 I think the way, it, way, thin' to the today. My wife is spooky. I mean, I got something to say, you know? What do you think this is all fun? You can't just fucking costume? This is a way of life. Checkoze, tick on tea, the hibur around the face. So this is a real question I have to ask you. Am I supposed to find lawn cheney attractive?
Starting point is 00:01:07 Uh-huh. So this is a real question I have to ask you. Am I supposed to find lawn cheney attractive? Uh, I mean, you did, right? I think not. I think a no. It's okay, because he's not going to take no for an answer. What a fucking creep? What is Gwen's gonna take no for an answer. What a fucking creep? What is Gwen's problem?
Starting point is 00:01:26 The 40s? I guess. It's, I mean, Frank is much cuter. Can we agree? Frank is much cuter. He's not as rich. But more British. And cuter.
Starting point is 00:01:39 And she's like all up on Lon Cheney. Yeah, why wouldn't you be? He's tall. He's very tall. He's like three feet taller than his father, which I really like. Oh, I really want to talk about the possibilities of Claude Raines begeting, Launcay Jr. What are we talking about? What are we doing? Katie, we're doing our Halloween episode. Is that good? What do you have there? What do you have that today? That was fantastic. When the world is in that bag, what you got in that bag?
Starting point is 00:02:08 Just a little ludicrous for you. Just a little, Gwen to Paltro's head. Yes! Candy bars, mini candy bars. Guys, it's Halloween. I brought candy cat. I gotta remember to, ah! You're gonna make that so I didn't just scream that loud, right? You hear that? That's a Kit Cat.
Starting point is 00:02:29 Happy Halloween, everybody. Happy Halloween. Shit, I'm gonna get diabetes. Ooh, whoppers. Let's not talk about the movie. Let's just talk about candy. Fun fact about candy. It has no adverse effects to your lifestyle. Oh, that's cool to know. A lot of trigger treaters over here.
Starting point is 00:02:56 Everybody gotta go to Tom Savini's house. I don't get, I barely get like 20 tops. Really? I tha, I th. I th. I th. I th. What the hell? Oh, those kids come in and they stick their whole hand in there and I say just one and they walk with 10. Oh shit, you're not Spider-Man. They're not Spider-Man. They're not Spider-Man. You're Katie. I am. Oh, you were setting up the radio program.
Starting point is 00:03:26 I'm Katie. I'm Alan. Welcome to Where to Where the Wolfman? Yeah, we're going to talk about the wolf man. Or we rudely chew into microphones. I don't give us shit. It's like the sound of Reese's pieces. Oh, the tree. Reese's PCs. In what world does that make sense? Who says Reese's Peece? You never
Starting point is 00:03:45 heard anybody say Riesies Peecees? I feel like that's a dumb regionalism around here. Ooh whoppers, these are gonna make for a good radio. Oh that's good folly. Wolfman, 1941 classic, arguably the third most classic of the universal horror monsters. Put them in an order for me. You're gonna go arguably the third most classic of the universal horror monsters. Put them in an order for me. You're going to go Dracula. You're going to go Frankenstein's monster, aka just call him Frankenstein. You're going to go Wolfman.
Starting point is 00:04:13 Okay, I agree. And then probably mummy, creature from the Black Lagoon, yeah. Phantom of the opera, a little lower down. I've never seen fandom of the opera, probably, but the the the the th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, the, the, the, the, thi, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, thrae, thrae, thrae, thrae, thrae, thrae, thu, thu, th. You you you th. You you, th. You, th. You, th. You, th. You, th. You, th. You, th. You, th. You, thi, thi, thi, thr, thr, thr, thr, thr. And, thrown, thrown, thrown, thrown, thrownea, throwne, throwne, throwne, throwne version of it. Yeah. Probably should know it. Probably, but they're fine. Yeah. We will do one of those at some point. Oh, Invisible Man's got to be in there somewhere too. Yeah. Speaking of Claude Reins, father of Lon Cheney Jr. in this movie is the Invisible Man. That movie is great. Have you seen that movie? Yeah, it's real mean, right? He hatefully murders an entire train full of people. From no reason, right? Because he pissed him off.
Starting point is 00:04:47 Somebody pissed him off. I love it so much. I remember seeing it as a child and just being like, mm-mm, mm. I'm also being like, this man isn't scary. And also being like, this man, lady. He's come back to England after being in the States for 18 years. I didn't even notice, I didn't understand who he was or what he was doing there. I'm sure they said, but I didn't care. He is the second son of Claude Rains, John Talbot. Sir John Talbot. The first one died? The first one died in a hunting accident. It was the painting of the guy who looked exactly like Lon Cheney that was above the f-in-o. the f. the f. the the f. the, the, the, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thian, thi, I, I, I, I, I, I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I thi, I they they thi, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I they they said, I they said, I they they said, I they said, I they said, I they they said, I I I I they they they they they said, I I I I I I they they they they they they said, I they they they they they said, I they they th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I thi, I thi, I thi, I'm thi, I didn't th. I didn't th. I didn't thi, I didn't thi, I didn't thi. I didn't thi, I they they said, I they said, I they above the fireplace. Gotcha. So when your brother dies, you're forced to come back? Right. They laid this whole thing.
Starting point is 00:05:25 A replacement child? Basically, they lead this whole thing out of where, like, in their family, the first born is the one that they curate to become the next head of the family. Sure. That's very British. Yeah, aristocracy. So when he died, they were like, well, I guess this one will do. Bring back the other one. And I guess that's how they're explaining that he is unbelievably American? Yeah, right. Retained none of his British accent?
Starting point is 00:05:53 No, well, 18 years is a long time. It's true. Not that long. But Madonna was in England for abroad in college and come back and be like, yeah, my flat, you're like, shut up, it's an apartment. Meet me at the lift. Yeah, no, fuck off. You're not going to the Lou, you're dumb shit. That Laurie almost ran me over.
Starting point is 00:06:15 My shit would have. Just kidding to all my friends who studied abroad in London. I don't talk to any of you anymore, you're dead to me. So you just not really in this movie very much? Who's that? Bella Lagoce? I thought he had a bigger role. He just pops in and dies. He was offered the role of Larry Talbot. And he said, mm-mm-mm-mm. That would be a very weird casting. Who would they have cast for his father, like Methuselah?
Starting point is 00:06:45 But he didn't want any, same thing with Frank Sinai, didn't want any shit on his face. Oh, okay. He does have a star on his face. Yeah, and a big old mustache. And his name is Bella the Gypsi. And his name is Bella the Gypsi movie? the thiia. You get it. What's your favorite Bell Lagosie movie? What's my... Uh, I really like Murder in the Room Org,
Starting point is 00:07:08 the Big Ape movie that he's in. That's Ape Man. Do you ever see Ape Man? No. That's my favorite fellow Lagosi. We heard the Maxi Pads wrote a song about it called Ape Man. It's a Bill Lagoce movie with an ape in it? It's called, the the the the one with the two dudes who looked
Starting point is 00:07:26 just like Dean and Jerry? I don't know. It's the one. I don't know. That's like a, uh, like, Bill LaGosea and the Brooklyn gorilla or something like that? Yeah, I don't know. He did a lot of monkey work that in. I feel like monkeys were a bigger thing in film than they are now. This is one where the the th the th th th the th the th th th th film than they are now. This is one where he needs human spinal fluid to, I don't even remember, it's pretty good. We wrote a song in the course was just human spinal fluid, human spinal fluid, human spinal fluid, I need human spinal fluid. You can drop it in here if you can find it.
Starting point is 00:07:57 Where would I go to find that? I think it's still up on our then record labels site at the Atomic Family. Okay, okay, I'll track that down. It's on the album's sweatpants hookers. Jesus. I mean you know I like the first Dracula movie. Yeah. You're like shrugging like it. Yeah. Bella goes he cooler than Lanchini. Oh yeah. Okay. I agree. Yeah. Launcini comes home and he's really skilled with his hands. He can set anything mechanical up. Can he? Yeah. He sets up his father's telescope for him. And he's like, oh yeah, I got any, I can do shit with my hands all
Starting point is 00:08:37 the day long. It's the thinking business that I'm not so good at. You think you'd have to think to use a telescope, but no, no, no. Unless you're just using that telescope to peep in women's windows. And then tell them about it! What the fuck? She should have called The Cops. The Bobbies, if you will. I don't know, half the police force was American too. This movie is inexplicable with where it's set in where it's, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, to, to, to, to, to, to, and, and, the, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, the, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, the, and, and, and, the, the, the, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, the, and, the, the, the, the, and, the, the, and, the, and, and, the, and, and, the, the, and, and, the, the, the, and, the, the, the, the, the, they.s.s. And, they. And, they.s. And, tell, tell, tell, they.s.s. And, tell, they. And, they. And, and, and, they. And, and, the about these movies that like, even with like Frankenstein, like it's supposed to be set in kind of like olden times and the dude just show up in fedores.
Starting point is 00:09:09 You're like, okay, whatever. That's fine. So you guys didn't make it over to wardrobe, huh? So he's creeping on this lady, Gwen, by telling her about earrings he saw in her room when he was looking through her window. And he he he he he he he he he he and he's, and he's, and he's, and he's, and he's, and he's, and he's, and he's, and he's, and he's, and he's, th. And he's, th. And he's, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th th th thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th.. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi's, thi's, thi's like, thi's th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th thinks, thinks, thinks, thinks, thinks, thinks,. And he keeps like, hey, why don't you come and see the gypsies with me at night? Yeah. We understand that they're called the Roma, but we're just using this film as vernacular. Right, they will.
Starting point is 00:09:32 Bella Legosy's character is literally Bella the gypsy. And then there's the gypsy lady. And she's like, I'm playing a gypsy. But she probably. I that that that that thia. I thia. I thia. I thia. I thia. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I th. I th. I th. I th. I'm like thi. I'm like thi. I that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I'm thi. I'm thi they're they're they're they're like like like they're they're they're like like like they're thi thi thi thi thi thi they're thi they're they're like that movie. I miss that movie. I miss that movie. It left me and has not come back. You're thinner. I miss you, call me. I text it thinner and it's like, new phone, who does?
Starting point is 00:09:59 Super sad. New phone, who did it is? Lizard. Send me the lizard emoji and then my skin just went to shit. Oh. So yeah, he goes down to the store after he peeps her through the window and he's creeping on her and telling her about her ear rings that he saw. He's so gross. And she's like not into it, but he's real pushy.
Starting point is 00:10:22 She's like, no. And he's like, I'll be here at eight. And she's like, no. And then she's like, OK. But she brings a friend, which is always like, no, no, no. Fucking Jenny. But then when Jenny dies, she's straight up. Just not give a shit. Like, it's the next, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it's not, it's not, and it's not, and it's not, and it's, and it, and th. And th. And then, and then, and then, and then, and th. And the, and the, and the, and th. And th. And, and th. And, and th. And, and th. And, and th. And, and th. And, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and the. And, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, like, then, then, then, then, then, then, then, then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, Has anybody seen Jenny? Yeah, where Jenny at?
Starting point is 00:10:45 So Jenny... So, okay, so they go see these, the gypsy. Right, and there's dancing and fiddle playing and... Because gypsies. And because gypsies. And because movies. Guys in high pants and, yeah, good times. Kicking of one's feet.
Starting point is 00:10:58 Yeah. But I'll go see for not being in this movie very much, certainly chewing up what he's got. Oh, he's owning his role. He's just like, you're in that cuing that. Your name of the character after me. Yeah. I'm gonna have a fake mustache. It's gonna look dope as hell. It does look dope as hell. I'll draw my own star on my forehead.
Starting point is 00:11:13 Yeah, no one needs, no one need do it for me. of the scenery. And then when they bury me it's going to be a very short casket. I'm a tiny man in this movie. They, so yeah, they go and Jenny goes to get her fortune told from Bella. And he sees the star on her, right? Right, we learn earlier that the pentagram... It's not a pentagram though. It's just a five-pointed star, right? It is, but it's a pedigram in this movie. Sometimes it has a circle, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it's just filled in, sometimes it isn't, sometimes it isn't, sometimes it's just an outline. Sometimes there's lines. It felt very much like a collection of 90s star tattoos.
Starting point is 00:11:54 There's a n that star. Just a single star? Single star, blue star. Blue because I was sad. I got it when I was 17 by borrowing my roommate's ID to buy a pack of cigarettes. I came back with a tattoo. Wow. Cool, cool, cool. That is a man. Yeah, it's impressive. Not very, not very smart. Kitty, you're currently talking to a man who has a monkey holding a straight razor wearing a diaper, taking a peach off of a tree tattooed under his arm. So, I can never make fun of anyone's tattoo. No, you've firmly planted yourself where you've planted it. You got a bustin' tato good tattoo on your leg? I sure is shit you do. So Bella's chewing up the scenery, sees the star, we're established that he sees the, the werewolf will see the star on his next victim.
Starting point is 00:12:55 Right. And he's like, okay, fine. I guess I kill you then. Well, he's got a lot of like pathos about that. He gets very upset and tells her to leave and the hopes that she'll run away. You're right. I presented him incorrectly. Mostly because I was like, yeah, let's get to the werewolves. So she trops off into the fogy woods, which look gorgeous. Yeah, the scenery is beautiful. The scenery is beautiful. Cinematography, it just all looks so phenomenal. Like, how much fog can you put in one place? I love it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:25 The driving is amazing. The church that they go to, it's a very brief scene is like a beautiful building. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, that they probably could have hung out in it longer. Yeah. On this movie is only an hour. I know, God bless it. befogged woods and you know trips and falls behind a tree and then Lon Chaney
Starting point is 00:13:47 is putting the moves on Gwen and he hears screaming so he runs out after the screaming yeah and he's bought this cane earlier in the day with the pentagram and the wolf's head and all that jazz on it he was drawn to it and then he beats the wolf to death with his cane. Right, which is silver which will kill a werewolf. So quick question about wherewolves. Why come is Belagosy a wolf and Lon Chaney turns into a dog face man? He with a very silly haircut. Terrible haircut, I don't know. Why isn't he a full-blown dog? I don't know because he thinks he's killed a wolf. He does not see a man, a bipedal person at all.
Starting point is 00:14:28 When he's a werewolf, just running around, run around on two legs. He's run around on tiptoes. Yeah, on tiptoes. Well, that's how dogs walk. I love when they keep going, there's the wolfpr there, there, the wolf, the wolf, the the the the the the the the the the the the th, th, th,'m watching. I'm seeing what's running around. He's got people feet. Everyone keeps like telling him he's confused and he's like, why is everyone acting like, I'm confused? It's like because you've seen very confused, sir.
Starting point is 00:14:53 Like you put on that robe and didn't notice you didn't have a flesh wound anymore. That's confusing. I read a review of this. And they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they like, the only thing he brings to this is that you feel a little bad for him because you think he's a dumb lummix. Yeah, he is a dumb lummix. That's just like the kind of like the, he's not suave, he's just like...
Starting point is 00:15:15 He's gross. He's gross and he's stupid. Yeah, he's a big, dumb dummy with a big, floppy, big wasted pants. Yeah. I don't know why I'm hung up on high-wasted pants, but I really am. They're very strange to me. Just not into it. Yeah. No. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:15:31 So like, a bunch of stuff happens. You know? It's true. He gets bit. He gets bit by Bella, not a wolf. He turns back into Bella and then they're like, oh, you killed him. And his skull. But like, we're not that mad at you about it. And no one cares that Jenny's dead. Literally, nobody gives a shit about Jenny except her mother who is excellent. I love Jenny's mother. She's the best character in this movie. She's like keeps, but she's like the snarky version of that. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:16:07 Also, can we talk about Gwen's scared face? Yes. It's very bad. She's a pretty woman, but boy, could she not act? I feel like there wasn't a lot of difference between that and her just regular face. She just like opened her mouth like a to uh, uh, uh, I will give it to lunch any that he does seem like he's gonna cry during the entire movie. Do you think, was this?
Starting point is 00:16:30 Where in his career is this? Oh, this is, this is near the beginning of. Well, he was in his, he was like mid to late 30s at this point. Geez, he looks old as shit. Seriously, he's a lot, he's that? Yeah, yeah. He was born in 1906 and this is 1941. Yeah. Yeah. Whoa, he looks very old and very bad.
Starting point is 00:16:50 Well, his, so do you know like his story at all? Not really. Or like from what I've heard, and this may be just apocryphal, but like his real name, his name, the studio is like, theyreau, thi's th.......... their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their th. th. th. th. th. thi, thi, thi. thi. he. he. th. he. th. th. th. th. th. th. he. he. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th... th. th... th. th. th. th. th. th. Wow, th. Wow, th. Wow, th. Wow, th. th. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. the. the. the. the. the., yo, you want to work, you gotta take your dad's name. And he totally hated his father. Oh, that's awful. So it's like, I've heard it speculated, like, the why he turned to alcoholism was like, oh, I can't be anything. I'm just in the shadow of my father, my entire life. Oh, God. like he was just he was gone. He was like a sad clown at that point right? Yeah, yeah, just like pretty pretty wasted from
Starting point is 00:17:27 chronic alcoholism. I mean, this is our second lawn chaining junior movie because he was also in spider baby if you remember. Oh yeah, I vaguely I vaguely remember that movie really vaguely. Come on the two girls that are playing spider and stabbing people through the windows of their house? Sort of, yeah, that seems that was that was that was like th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi thi thi thi thi thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, the, the, the, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, thi. thi. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thr-a, thr-s, thrown, thrown, thr-a' thrown, thrown, thrown, thr-l-a' thrown, thrown, that are playing spider and stabbing people through the windows of their house? Sort of, yeah, that seems, that was like three years ago. I can't be expected to remember that. Oh yeah, we just passed our three-year anniversary or right around this time. Yeah. We're coming up on it. Crazy. Yeah. Boy. So yeah, he had a pretty rough life and I'm not sure where he was in like his drinking at this important time but he does look a lot older than his he looks a ru mid to late 30s yeah. He looks especially rough when they do the time-lapse hair growth. Oh yeah I guess that's effects of the 1940s. Oh the Jack Pierce effects yeah all those effects like the the transformation at the end when they were watching him transform back to Lon Chaney,
Starting point is 00:18:27 that took something like 10 hours to film. You're kidding. Because they would just have to do like slight application changes. Oh God, that's so tedious. And that shit took, like he, to get into the full werewolf man costume, it was six hours in and an hour out. Jesus, that's a work. th. th. th. th. th. That's, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, the stuff, the stuff, the stuff, the stuff, the stuff, the stuff, the stuff, th. the stuff, the stuff, the stuff, th. their, their, the stuff, the stuff, they. they. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, they... they. they. they. th. t. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too.., that's a work day. Yeah. So that shit was not like the stuff that Jack Pierce did to like Boris Karloff and stuff, like just insane.
Starting point is 00:18:51 And the weird stuff that they would like, like all the, what is it, like corpse putty that they would like build their faces out of the stuff, yeah. What is corpse putty? It's stuff that they they they they they they used they used they used that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that's faces after they've died. Oh. And he would just use that to fill out people's faces from makeup. Yeah, it sounds weird. It sounds grosser than it is, but it was just like, it's all narly stuff that I'm sure OSHA would not let them use anymore.
Starting point is 00:19:14 Got a union now. The literally, the day after Jenny has died, yes. They go back to the gypsy camp for more party times because Frank is like, Gwen, you've got to get over this. Yeah, right, there's something to feel sad about and to be fair, she doesn't feel very sad. No, no, she's all smiles because they're watching someone dance. Yeah, she loves that dancing though. Gwen, really amused by dancing. And then and Lonchini shows up as well. Creeping on them. Yeah, th, th, th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th tho, tho, thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. They, th. They th. They's th. They's th. th. They's th. thi, thi thi thi thi thi. thi. to toee. toea toea toea. toea. toea. toea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thi and Lon Cheney shows up as well.
Starting point is 00:19:45 Creeping on them. Creeping on them, even though he's sure that something is going on with himself. Right. And he feels like he's losing his mind. And so there's the great scene where Frank's like, look, we've got to be friends, let's go shoot. That's what men do. That's true.
Starting point is 00:20:03 And I feel I I I I I I I feel I feel I feel I feel I feel I feel I true. And I feel like this movie really like sets into stone a lot of those established like this is what men do, this is what women do. Yeah, for sure, some gender roles happening here. So they're shooting of these little like little metal stand-ups of different animals. I forgot about this. And Lon Cheney is fantastic. I should have some respect. Larry Talbot is fantastic. It's sure. Yeah. He's knocking everything down and for some reason his father and
Starting point is 00:20:30 the doctor are just like standing like a hundred yards away going. Oh man, look at this guy. He is a real messed up right now. Yeah, it's very strange. I didn't realize that man was the doctor. That makes a lot of sense. The dude who also might be American. Much like a, what is it, Paul Montfort, or whatever the one guy's name is, who's like, oh, we used to catch frogs together down at the pond. Oh yeah, yeah, we're both American. Yeah, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:20:53 Who cares? They're like, whatever. Get him a British cop. So he gets to shoot at the final stand-e comes up and it's a wolf and he can't do it. He can't bring himself to shoot it. What? Why? Why? Do you really feel kinship with this?
Starting point is 00:21:14 the metal wolf target thing? You haven't even transformed yet. No, you haven't. And then the lady gypsy gives him that pendant to keep him safe and he's like, no, no, no, they don't need this. Gwen, you have it. It's pretty for girls. Necklaces aren't for boys. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:31 A little hubristic there. So then he goes home. And there's the great, the first transformation scene happens. Where he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, I don't know what's going on, so he rips his shirt off, and you can see his hup, hup, hup physique. Yeah, he's very hup, hub, hub. And he's like, oh, okay, nothing, nothing weird, nothing, nothing going on here, just got this little star on my chest. Yeah, which is fine. And then he goes and sits out on his socks and he was like, ah, he didn't expect it from the ground up. Like if it started on his butt,
Starting point is 00:22:05 and he were like, ah, he didn't expect it start here, did you? No, you probably didn't. And it might take you a while to notice. Yeah, his haircut though is super silly when he's the wolf. It's like a weird bowl cut. And then when he transforms back at the tha to to sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort sort to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the.. It just looks like a wire brush is stuck on his head. So he has, he attacks, uh... The Gravedigger.
Starting point is 00:22:28 The Grave Digger. That's his first kill. And they're like, oh, it must, it was a wolf. It must have escaped from the circus or the zoo. It's not a fucking elephant. Like wolves just live places. Do they live in, in Angland? I don't know, but it's not an elephant. It's all my entire point.
Starting point is 00:22:46 It could come over on a boat. I love that graveyard. Like, it doesn't look like any British graveyard that I've ever seen before, but it's so cool looking. It is great. He's like, he and Jenny are the only deaths maybe in this movie until... Yeah. And until the end deaths maybe in this movie until... Eh, who cares? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:06 And until the end. Yeah. Well, Bella. Oh, Bella. How dare I. Could you forget the tiny cafted man? So earlier in the movie, when Gwen explains werewolves to him again? So earlier in the movie, when Gwen explains were wolves,
Starting point is 00:23:17 the same analogous scene where then, because Larry it's a's is is is is is is is is is is a is a is a the to to to to to explain wherewolves to him again. Yeah, she literally told you about it. Like I know she's also stupid, but like even stupid people should listen to stupid people. I just can't learn from women. So if my dad could explain this to me, have you ever seen the Danzig video of him explaining his library? No. I will send you this, but I'm going to plug it a little thing right now where he's talking about. He's like Ben Over and he's like, this is my library.
Starting point is 00:23:49 These are all my books, and it's like three shelves. And he's like, he pulls out one and he's like, this is a book about werewolves all documented, all true. The Wolf by Monague Summers. This is a book about werewolves, all documented, all true. A wolf by Montague Summers. This is great. There's lots of great will stories in here, all documented, all true. And there's one in particular, it's great, where they're looking for this guy who's accused to being a wolf, and he comes out of this clearing, shaking a baby in his mouth.
Starting point is 00:24:22 That's pretty cool. It's the kind of stuff I like to read. The fuck. So dancing is actually very stupid. That's what you're telling me. There's this one great thing that he's like, I can't remember if it's the same scene or another scene where he talks about how he knows more about the Bible than priest do. Sure. Of course he does. He went to seminary. He's dancing.
Starting point is 00:24:46 But in the scene, he's like, oh, this is the lost books of Jesus. What? And then he tells a story about how Jesus got into a fight with a kid and struck him dead. And then he goes, huh, Jesus. That Jesus. That Jesus. When did Jesus a child dead? It's in the lost books of the Bible. Oh, when do they get found?
Starting point is 00:25:09 They're in the lost and found of the Bible. Jesus. Jesus. I love you dancing. I want to dumb. I wrote some bad-ass songs, though. So everyone's very concerned about Larry. And Paul, the head of the police in town,
Starting point is 00:25:28 is on to him. Yeah. He thinks, maybe. Sort of. I mean, he thinks, he's not really doing much of anything. It's this wolf's true. They built that big stand in the tree. It's true.
Starting point is 00:25:39 And they set a traprap which he immediately steps in. He immediately steps in but it seems like the wolfman could undo the trap with the dexterity of his human hands. Now he needed the the gypsy lady to come by and tell him to get his foot out of the trap. Yeah oh he's like oh my god. This is where I decide I really hate Gwen too. Lary Larry Larry Larry go be with your fiancé, you fucking lady. I do like the scene where he's stuck in the trap as the werewolf and the gypsy lady rolls up and she says that like that incantation about your like you're this way by no fault of your own. Yeah. And then he kind of like just transforms back and I was like, why don't you just hang out with them? Yeah, or teach him how to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do that that th th th th th th th th th th th th th th the th the the the thu thu thu thu thu thu the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the f? the f? the f the f the f the f the f the f th. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. to-fu-fu-fu-fu-fu-fu-fu-fu-fu-fu-fu-fu-fu-f-f-n-a? th. no fault of your own. Yeah. And then he kind of like just transforms back. And I was like, well, let me just hang out with him. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:27 Or teach him how to do that. Yeah, right. It seems like a really good skill to have. So this just keeps happening, Malary. He keeps transforming and, it's just like sometimes. Just in nighttimes. Yeah, when the moon is moon. And the wolf's bane is there.
Starting point is 00:26:50 Baining. Baining. And he's just during the day he's just creeping around on everybody. Yeah, just being a guy. It's a creepy guy. And his dad's very concerned, and his dad's very concerned, and his only thing... He's like, but dad? Is it because he wasn't there for his teen years? Probably.
Starting point is 00:27:09 Or was he? It's because you knew he was second favorite. So weird. Yeah. Though, the way you walk is thorny through no fault of your own. Yeah, I like that. She talks the werewolf way. Oh, and then Larry sees the panogram on Gwen's hand. Oh, right, and that freaks him out.
Starting point is 00:27:28 Yeah, and he runs away. And his dad is not believing this werewolf stuff, because Larry's like all in. He's like, I'm totally a werewolf. I'm 100% of werewolf. Yeah. Yeah. And then explained how youves to his son earlier. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:47 And then explained how you've got to believe in science, but you've also got to believe in the supernatural because it, like, well, religion. They're the same thing. Sure. Because it tempers the science, basically. Uh, okay. I'm not saying I follow Sir John on this road. But Larry makes his dad take the silver cane.
Starting point is 00:28:08 Right, as he has tied him up to like protect him. Which later he's just out of and there's no scene of it busting up out of it. I was trying to remember, like did I miss the scene where he just like were wolves out of it? No. No, he's out. You can't, we all know you can't hold a ware wolf, you can I guess. So Larry runs out again. Everyone's out looking for him. They're in that neat tree stand that's only like a foot and a half off the ground that I really enjoy. Sure, yeah, it's like totally useless. I just don't want to get my boots, I'm just gonna They were the proto-Monster squad. Yeah. Which I watched right after I watched this movie. Oh fantastic. I kind of cleanse my palest.
Starting point is 00:28:49 And everyone's out looking for Larry. He shows up, he's gonna kill Gwen, he's throttling her. Oh right, right. And his dad rips up at the cane and just beats the shit out of him and puts him down. Yeah. I hope he has a third son. I didn't think about that. Who's gonna inherit inherit the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was thathe. I was kind kind. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. It. It. It. It. It. It. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It hope he has a third son. I didn't think about that. Who's going to inherit the estate? Who is going to? So then we had the great what I labeled the D transformation scene? Yeah. Yeah. Or he goes back into being Larry Talbot from being the Wolfman. And then Gwen and Frank and Frank and then, they, so babe. Yeah. Credit it's. threat. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. Who thi. Who thi. Who thi. Who thi. Who thi. Who th. Who's the the the the the the the the. Who's the the thi. Who's the. Who's thi. Who's thi. Who's thi man. And then Gwen and Marry Frank and it's fine. Yeah, and then Gwen and Franker together and like, oh, so babe. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:26 And credit it's. Whatever. The gypsy lady did say some nice words over Larry's body. Yeah, that's good. She's really compassionate to this whole werewolf thing. Yeah, she really, well, her son was a we're the wolfman. you know. Whose isn't? Mm-hmm. Yep. So that, Katie, is the wolf man. Ow, we used to use a howling wolf to be anymore?
Starting point is 00:29:54 Yeah, it's at the end of every episode. Okay, I'll never mind then. Occasionally we still put growls in when there's a hard edit. I like that. It's usually when I've said something really racist. Just kidding. That's the sign of racism. ROW. ROW.
Starting point is 00:30:11 So Katie. Oh, I do want to read you, before we go to the ratings phase, I wanted to read you the tagline for this on Amazon. Oh, please. Bitten by a were w an aristocrat. Lawn Cheney grows fangs fur and a muzzle, then begs his father for help. Who is this being written by children? Like who? What? What? What? What? What? W. W. What? Okay. theybuff? the wolfman movie? that's it about? a muzzle and then begs his dad for help.
Starting point is 00:30:45 I guess that's kind of what. I mean, in an essence, it's true. Does it not wrong? They left out all the creeping. Yeah. All the creeping. Ah, you got to let the creep in sneak on you, you know. Creeping and sneaking.
Starting point is 00:30:57 Yeah, Harr. That's pretty good. It's Halloween, guys. Yeah, it is. You know what? I'm not so into this movie. Oh, okay. Of werewolf movies we've done, it is not my favorite. Oh.
Starting point is 00:31:13 It is no howlfing. Okay. It is no American werewolf in the monster squad. It's not great. I don't love this. I find Lange, I think you're supposed to, like, side with Lanchane, I'm ready for him to die from the jump. Are you supposed to be saddened by his death? Is he supposed to be like a pitiable character? Oh, for sure.
Starting point is 00:31:36 No, strongly disagree. I feel sorry for Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank cuckled in here. What about Gwen who's just being abused on all quarters? Everyone's coming down on her. No, that's quite stupid. She's like, oh Larry, oh, I think I might love you instead. No, you don't. He's just tall. You just can't see him that good. He's got clouds around him. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, five. It's a classic.
Starting point is 00:32:09 For sure. Where would you put this in the other universal classics? I like Dracula better. I like Frankenstein better. I like Brigham's I better. I like Bride of Frankenstein better. I think that's my favorite of all of them. I liked creature better than this.
Starting point is 00:32:23 Although I don't remember if I gave that a five or not. I couldn't tell you. It's certainly more enjoyable than this. Yeah. There's more swimming. Mommy, I think I liked better than this. Oh, you can't go wrong with the Boris Karloff. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:36 So what else? Is there anything that I Man more than this. So now this is my least favorite. Okay, wow. Wolf Man. It's like I don't even like werewolves. It's like, why do I even do this? I admit it for the ambulance, I guess. This is the guy who needed the original were wherfamulets. Oh, uh, so yeah, I agree with you that this is like,
Starting point is 00:33:07 when I was a kid, I loved this movie. Did you? Yeah, and I think it's perfect for like, a 10 year old kid who wants to get creeped out. Sure. But like, yeah, it's, uh, it's blessed that it's only an hour and 10 minutes long. Like, in and out. Yeah, and Lonchan not, you can't carry a movie. But I'm gonna give it a six just because I have a lot of nostalgia for it. And I feel like I'm doing that a lot lately. But what do you mean lately? You mean since we began this program? Yeah, for the last three years.
Starting point is 00:33:36 But it's a, I mean, I'll watch it. Like if someone's like, do you want to watch a wolf man, I'll definitely watch it, because it's an hour and 10 minutes, and then we can watch Monster Squad afterward. Exactly, there's time for both. Yeah. And, you know, it's the granddaddy of, well, I guess where wolf in London came before this, but not the warrants evan song. Ah, fuck it. Do you want to go back and plug in your warranzy-von jokes? Just that his hair was perfect. Oh God, those glasses.
Starting point is 00:34:08 Those mildly tinted glasses were so great. Oh, I'm in, you know, a werewolf drinking a pinnacle-a-a-lo-trait of X. His hair was perfect. Oh, shit. I'm tho-I'm in the lyrics of what was London. Yeah, why don't you go home and study up? I should. I'm more of a send lawyers, guns and money kind of guy. Everybody has their thing. You know what your thing could be? What?

Oh, I'm not one of those people. Good thing. It's like when you say something about your baby and someone tells you about their pet, and you're like, yeah, it's, I'm sure it's hard. This is like when my dog went to college. Oh, yeah, you're saving that 529 for that dog. Hey guys, give us some money. Just kidding, I get a baby. But seriously, thank you so much for listening to this and commenting and getting in touch. And happy Halloween, guys.
