This poor kid just bullied like nobody's business. The bullying is so strange. Yeah but it's whipping scene where the children are crying while hitting him? Yeah.

What? In the what? Even more so in the book? Because I read the book right after I saw the the movie because I was like that was the best I could read that bar. You felt real moody about it. Yeah. And the book is even more like an honest appraisal of bullying. And it was just like, oh man. I mean if you think the movie's a bummer, a book. No, no thanks.

And he likes to go outside and sit on the jungle gym in the freezing-ass cold. That jungle gym is weak. Yeah, well I actually know why it's weak. If you want a nerd fact, they specially made it so that it would fit in the frame.

Oh, really? So because they're normally too tall. Yeah, that makes sense. But yeah, so it looks like, but it adds to like, oh, this kid's life is shit. It's like a two that you is like chin height. He's very meek, very timid, very passive. He's almost translucent. His skin is so fair and just like, yeah, but his hair and eyebrows are the same color. Little Oscar, and he's very thin. Yeah. Which you know because it opens on him and his under grutchies. Stabbing at no one. Yeah, God.

As a kid that grew up with a lot of knives though, I was like, oh yeah, I can get that with this. I like knives and weird rock music. So your knife, knives thing. Oh, it's eternal. My dad gave him my first pocket knife when I was like six-year year old a knife? What are you going to cut? A maniac. I have it in my head that I can't leave my house without my wallet, my keys, a pocket knife and a handkerchief. Like that has been instilled in me since I was a child. Weird. I've always had a handkerchief. It's a little gross. If like in an emergency situation, yes.

What do you do with it otherwise? Give it in my back pocket. If somebody else needs to blow their nose, I offer it to them. That's fucked, that you would offer someone a piece of fabric that belongs to you for someone else to blow their waist into. It's poop. I thought about this because of her vagina. In the book it goes into the whole history of LA or Eli, as she would have been known. Yeah. But I kind of like that, like, all that... Well, I think that's what you're supposed to think in like in the movie, for sure. Yeah. I kind of like, there's a ton of other stuff in the book. That's actually really interesting, but like they definitely trimd. They definitely trimmed all that stuff out. And I feel like it makes the movie like it's just about their relationship. Yeah, it really is. It's very tidy. Yeah.

So he lives in this apartment complex. Two new people move in, a young girl and an old dude, an old creeper, and the old dude immediately starts haunting people. Very poorly. He's terrible at it. Those woods are not private, where he's like hanging that person up to drain. Not, I mean, not even remote. There's cars going by like, just over there. What do you do guys? The trees are bare and there are not many of them.

It's literally just like killing someone in the front yard. And then he's shocked to be caught by a poodle named Ricky? I love Ricky so much because he just sits down to watch. His name is Ricky, which is amazing. And there's just some woman off screen going, Ricky? Ricky? Ricky? But, so yeah, he strings this guy up and he's got like this whole like rigmarole where he has, I guess he has to drain them while they're still alive. Because you can't feed a vampire dead blood.

And the second time he tries to do it because she like he comes home without blood and she starts screaming at him and it's in a scary voice. Yeah. You know the whole voice that's not the actress's voice. They had somebody else come in and dove her for the entire movie. Ooh, you think he's so bad at this. He's comically bad at this. And he's seemingly even doing it for years. That's what I didn't understand.

Do you think he was just self-sabotaging? Do you think he wanted out? I don't know. He brought the face disfiguring acid with him. Seems like he could have just let her eat him. Yeah, if you really want out. She wouldn't have if he wasn't right because he's the hunter for her. So he pours acid on his face when he gets like gets caught. Yeah.
