Starting point is 00:00:00 Alan, can you tell me what happened before recorded time? Because at the beginning of this movie attempts to. Well, there was a comment. Yes. And it killed all the dinosaurs. Is that what they say? Okay, I was a little lost on what happened before recorded time. Do you think they had podcasts before recorded time? Before recorded time, anything could happen, although this movie surmises, there was a comet.
Starting point is 00:00:41 And it killed the dinosaurs? Kill the dinosaurs. Okay. Yeah. Mm-hmm. And then there's something about a coincidence. I missed that also. They're like, some people think it's just a coincidence. But some don't. But I don't know what the coincidence was.
Starting point is 00:00:57 That the comet and the dinosaurs extinction happened at the same time. Oh, okay. I really didn't hear anything about dinosaurs. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. Interesting. I was reading the movie as I'm wanting to do. I see. So perhaps that would have explained some things. Why didn't those dinosaurs just get into projection booths? Is my question? What are we tagging around? What are we doing? We're doing an out there episode of Warewolf Amulant? Are you sad or scared? Yeah, disappointed? It feels really weird to talk like that. Yeah, I like you to pull your shoulders up to your ears to talk like that. That's what ghosts look like that. Why are you
Starting point is 00:01:39 suddenly Victorian? And British? And British. We're a were were a Warwulf ambulance. I'm Katie. Me too, apparently. Yeah. Congrats. Oh, thank you. I love this song. and by love I mean find absurd, the song that's playing when everyone's like ready for the comet about how the whole world's celebrating. Because the comet's coming. I love all the music in this movie because they couldn't afford real songs. So it's like soundy like he's. And the soundy like he's and also like describing the movie kind of, yeah. It it it it's the music it's the music it's the music it's the music. the music. the music. the music. their their their their their their their their th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. thoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. that's. that's. th. like describing the movie, kind of. Yeah, it's sort of a musical in that sense.
Starting point is 00:02:26 And then later on there's a kind of bad cover of Girls Just Want to Have Fun. It is a very strange cover and I was hoping we could talk about it because it has the exact like keyboard swipe intro? Yeah, yeah. And then it's like not quite the right song. Yeah, not quite. And you're like, at first you're like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, like, like, like, like, like, like, quite the right song. Yeah, not quite. And you're like, at first you're like, okay, that's Stindy Slopper. Yeah, it's Candy Bopper. That's better. Candy Bopper.
Starting point is 00:02:53 Slopper is just not, not nice for anyone. I'm trying to go for like Slopper, but it just, yeah. No, I'm sorry. I'm sorry, he's th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, th. th. that's. that's. that's that's. that's, that's. that's, that's. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. Yeah, that's. Yeah, that's. Yeah, that's. Yeah, that's. Yeah, that's. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S.opper that I pronounced her name. I'm gonna look up Stindy Slouper on Facebook and see if there are any in America. So this movie has everything you like at the beginning, space. Love it. Uh, voiceovers. I have never complained about a voiceover. It's possible that I have. I love what it says that there's an extra Christmas present. Yeah, what was that about the comic came on Christmas day? But? th. But? th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the th. th. th. th. the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the th. there there there there there there there there there there there there there there there there are there are there are there are there are there are there are there are there are there are there are there are there are there are there are there are there are there are there are there are there there there there there there there there there th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. St. S. St. S. S. St. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S an extra Christmas present. Yeah, what was that about?
Starting point is 00:03:25 The comic came on Christmas Day. But everyone, it was an extra Christmas, the comet was the present? Yeah, yeah, yeah. No it wasn't, though, no it wasn't. So we're introduced to Regg. Oh, I love Regg so much. Who is in weekend at Bernies? Uh-huh. Not the de deuces, which, which, which, which, which, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, tho, it was tho, it was tho, it was tho, it was th, it was th, it was the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th, it was th, it was th, it was th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thoooooooooo. It was thi. It was thi, which I think is your preferred weekend at Bernies? I mean, I think it's a better movie. Okay. And I think it's a horror movie
Starting point is 00:03:49 and I think we should do it sometime because it's also about zombies. Yeah, yeah, yeah, definitely. Yeah, definitely. the spoilers for the weekend of Bernice, too. Spoilers for the second movie with the same dead guy in it. Yeah, he's still th. Yeah. th. th th th th th th th th th thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi th. And I th. And I th. And I th. And I th. And I th. And I th. And I th. And I th. And I th. And I th. And I thi. And I thi. And I thi thi thi thi. And I thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thiii thiiiiii thii thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi. And I thi. And I they raise him with a voodoo. Oh God, I don't remember the movie at all. Really? We should do it. It's a horror movie. You're talking about it and I'm picturing mannequin too, which is not the same movie. No, that's Christy Swanson. But does share the actor who played Bernie Lomax Passion of the Christ starring in front of the game. I would watch that. Wouldn't you? He'd be like, just looking at the camera all like, wink! Yeah, Reg is really good at the Tempest video game? Yeah, well, I have some problems with this too. So she has all the high scores. Yeah. But someone named DMK has gotten number six. to, I. I I I. I I I. I. I I. I. I I. I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I the the the the the th, I would the th. I would the the th. I would th. I would thi, I would thi, I have some problems with this too. So she has all the high scores, but someone named DMK
Starting point is 00:04:46 has gotten number six. So she plays the game again and then she takes the six spots. She plays it just enough to get in six. But why wouldn't that bump them down to seven? Because somehow she's still seven. That's not how high scores work. You know what I mean? Tempets like just as blocks that you can that you can It doesn't bump anybody like if you get 65,809 points you're in six. You're in six. Yeah, and the other guys gone dead. That's just not how high scores work. And it's a weird,
Starting point is 00:05:12 it's a weird mechanic in this movie because it does not matter. We never find out who DMK. Oh yeah, we do. Who? It literally has to wait till the end. It's a the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. thetill the end of the movie before I can tell you. Okay. Or I'll just say you now, the guy who drives up at the end, his license plate is DMK. Oh, I missed that. Yeah. Was I supposed to catch that? Yeah. Like the camera like zooms in on his license plate? I was probably, was that where the... Did the end is a dumb. Yeah. Yeah. So,
Starting point is 00:05:45 the Reg is just, she's like a maniac for Tempest. She works at a movie theater. She has fantastic hair. Oh my God, I want to swim in that hair. It's amazing. One point I turned it missing, I was like, can I pull that hair? No. I would just look like a wrestler in the 80s.
Starting point is 00:06:05 Yeah, you look like a Marty Genetti. Look him up, people. I love the dialogue between her and her boss when he's trying to get her to go to work. She's like, no, hold on. Hold on. I got this. Yeah. And he. he and he. he. he. they. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. the. to. they. to. thi. thi. thi. told. told. told. told. told. told. told. told. too. told. told. told. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. the. the. to. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. ti. te. te. te. te. te. too. te. too. too. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. group. So good. I like that she is our hero, our heroine in this movie. But she's like kind of stupid.
Starting point is 00:06:29 And you're like meant to accept that she's just kind of stupid. She's a dumb teen. Yeah. I feel like in nowadays movies, the teenage girl to whom we are meant to identify is like wise beyond her years. She dumb. She dumb. She's a dumbed kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind the thine thine thine thine thine thine thine th th th thine kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind thine thine thine thine thine thine thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi are meant to identify is like wise beyond her years. Oh yeah. Reg is not wise beyond her years. She's dumb.
Starting point is 00:06:48 She's dumb teen. The only thing she's got like, she's got some mechanical skills, and she knows her way of our Mac 10 submachine kind. Yeah, and she has like, she knows self-defense. Because it made me kind of mad that she's like making it, which I hate that phrase, that is gross, never say it again. She's making it with this dude who's like real shitty to her. He's the worst.
Starting point is 00:07:09 Because in a now movie, that wouldn't happen. Like we would feel something and she would say, no, this is wrong, I stand up for myself. The Reg is just like, oh, fuck it, you know. And as we learn through the movie, these two two two two two two two two two two two thoes tho tho tho the movie tho the movie thi thi the movie thi the movie thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, tho, tho, tho, tho, thi, the movie, thi, thi, the movie, the movie, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, thi. thi. We are, thi. We're, thi, thi. thi. thoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, th. th. th. th. th. th sisters are just D. T. F. They're just horny as I'll get out. I know. Is that what it was like in the 80s? Is that? Yeah. When I was 10 in 1984, let me tell you. Just fucking everything in sight. Why your dad was off fighting the San Dineas test. Loved it. Yeah. That's a deep cut for American military skirmishes, I guess. Yeah, yeah. I mean, and very specific, like, very time-oriented. Outside of that time frame, not a lot of talk about Santanista. No, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:07:51 81 to 85, that's what you're looking at. Exactly. Let's talk about the classic clash album, San Anista. And we weren't. No, we're not. No. So her boyfriend's th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's not, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's. that's, that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's, that's, that's, that's. that's not. th. that's not. th. th. th. the the the the th. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. that's not that's not that's not that's not that's not that's not. that's not what's happening. So her boyfriend's name is Larry Dupree. Yeah. He's, first of all, he ugly. He's a dingus too. He's ugly and he sucks.
Starting point is 00:08:11 And I was like, oh my god, I'm going to put up with this guy throughout the whole movie. And then they fucking kill him. I was like, thank God. Kill him with our first zombie. Here's the thing about those zombies. They're good. They're scary. They're not really the bad guys in this movie. Nope. Which it makes that shift about two-thirds of the way through. Yeah. Why do they do that, do you think? Because I think it was a good little twisty-twist. It is, but the zombies are just forgotten about. Yeah, just to the zombies like, is being a zombie, the toy, th. th. th. th. th. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, they's, they're, they're, their, their, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, they, they, thi, thi, they, they, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, they, thi, thi, thi, they-da. Or do the zombies like, is being a zombie one step closer
Starting point is 00:08:47 to death? Like do they all just die? Yes. Okay, so they do just die out. That's why we found out the scientists are trying to replenish their blood with young healthy blood. Which is like a really unsustainable practice. It's true. They're going to grow old. So we meet Samantha, Sam. Killing. to to they. they. th. they. thiiii. thi. thi. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th. th. they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they. their, their, they. they's their, thi. thi. they's toooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooom. toom. toom. the. th Sam. Kellyn Moroni. Yeah, from Chopping Mall. And she's Regg's sister and she's at home with Doris, the stepmother. And she's wearing shiny leggings and high-waisted underpants. Shorts. Just for chilling? I like a lot. Yeah. I wish I could wear that. You could. You could. I'm 34 years old and it's 2018. It's too late. Katie, you are 34 years young. th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. th. th. th's th's th's th's th's th's th's th's th's th's to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. the the the the. the the the the the the the the the the the the to-s. the too-s. the too' too' too' toe' to You could. I'm 34 years old and it's 2018.
Starting point is 00:09:25 It's too late. Katie, you are 34 years young. No, I am really old. I'm an old soul. Also, I'm just tired. Too tired for shiny leggings. I look at shiny leggings and I'm like, are you kidding me? Can I jump into those? Just like the amount of effort it's going to to put tho tho, tho, th, th, to put th, to th, to to to to to tho, to to to to to to to tho, to to tho, to tho, tho, I, I, I, I, I'm, I'm th, I'm, I, I'm, I'm just, I'm just, I'm just, I'm just, I'm just, I'm just, I'm just, I'm just, I'm th, I'm th, I'm, I'm, I'm, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I tho, tho, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, tho.a.a, t t to.a, to.a, toge, t t toge, tho.a, thi, thi, thi, I'm th like, the amount of effort it's gonna take for me to put those on is just never going to pay off.
Starting point is 00:09:45 Pay off? Like, there's some sort of dividend at the end of the... Well, I mean, why wear pants if you're, they're not paying dividends. You know what I mean? Everything has to have a purpose. As a dude who for many, many years just wore a denim-sacks. were basically denim potato sacks. I don't know what you mean. I heard Jingo's man. My partner where we got together was like,
Starting point is 00:10:09 you know you can wear like a slim fit gene and it'll actually adhere to your leg and you won't look like you're wearing potato sacks. Oh, yeah, I'm 40. Okay, yeah, that makes sense. Let me try this out. I want to get to Sam having the best line in this movie very early on talking to Doris. What is it?
Starting point is 00:10:26 Doris is talking about how she likes to get freaky with Chuck the neighbor. And Sam says, Doris, you were born with an asshole, you don't need Chuck. That's really good. That's really good. And I feel like I know some people in my life I'd like to say that too about their partner, you know, and it's just too late. It's too late. Can you just write in a piece of paper and slide in her and look at them knowingly? Like Andrew, Andrew McCarthy in Passion of the Christ? That line, like I was just like, oh man, you've, I hope like someone ran her on a table after they turned that line down. Yeah, I love her nails. She has like four inch Lee pressons in like sin red, and I love it.
Starting point is 00:11:11 Yeah, she's amazing. And she knocks Sam the fuck down. And apparently loosens one of her teeth. Yeah. Can't wait to fight with my kid. Oh God. No, Steph kid, Stepa, you're fine. Everything's fine. I do like that Sam jumps right back up and punches her in the face.
Starting point is 00:11:25 Yeah. I mean, if you're gonna get punched, get back up and punch. Yeah. And as Chambawamba taught us. And, uh. I bet people right now are like, I don't get it. I bet people right now are like, I don't get it. Are you telling me that Chumbo Wamba is now on classic rock radio? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:46 Have I gotten that old? Yeah. I remember hearing Pearl Jam on classic rock radio and I was like, fuck. Sound garden is on heavy rotation too. And it's like, oh, but I'm watching MTV. I'm still 50, no? No, I'm not. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. th. th. th. I. I's. I'm. I'm. I'm th. I'm th. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I. Yeah. I. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. th. Yeah. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. th. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I. I. I. I'm. So the sky turns crazy. Everything starts going lightning-ning. The effects are a ba-ba-bad. And totally 80s beautiful.
Starting point is 00:12:13 Like at one point the sky turns zebra-striped. Yeah. Like zoobas. Just zoobas, yeah. And then a sacks starts playing on the radio. Because why wouldn't it? Why wouldn't there be a sex? the th? thaaa- the radio. Because why wouldn't it? Why wouldn't there be a sex solo? And then everybody's gone.
Starting point is 00:12:28 Yeah, everybody was like out watching the comet. It was like a worldwide watch party. Yeah. And then the next morning we see all of their clothes and all this dust and everything they left behind. Like full uneaten bowls of cheese, it. theat thi thii. th. thu. thu. thu. thin. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. tho, that. that that. that. tho, tho, everybody's tho, everybody's tho-a, everybody's tho-a, everybody's tho-s. tho-s. tho-s. they. th. th. th. th. they. they. that. that. Yeah. that. that. that. that. that. that that that that toea. toea. toea. toea. toea. toea. toea wanted to put us into the mood of a 1984 movie. I got sour patch kits. Hell yeah, you did.
Starting point is 00:12:49 Where'd you get those? Look at that bag. I got it from the bulk of it in a giant angle. Oh, nice. Thanks. There's also sour water out because I know they make you go on. I love that when we're seeing the empty empty, empty of of of empty the empty the empty the empty, empty, empty, empty, empty, empty, empty, empty, empty, empty, empty, empty, empty, empty, empty, empty, empty, empty, empty, empty, empty, empty, empty, empty, the empty, the empty, the empty, the empty, the, they of of they of they of they, the the, where, they, they, where the, where the, where, where, where, where, where, where, where, where, where, where, where, where, where, where, where, where, where, where the the the the the the, where the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the to get the the they., they pan across a still working nightmarish advertising clown. Oh I missed it. Yeah, it was just like, eh, uh, like in the big adventure. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:11 Too bad, I miss up. Why does that get to live? I don't know. Here's another question. When Reg is riding the motorcycle through the city, there's like one car on the streets. Yeah. Where did the rest of them go? They were all at their watching parties. How wink? I mean, it's Los Angeles. There is traffic everywhere. I know. I know. But whenever they need a car, they have no trouble finding one. I know.
Starting point is 00:13:31 You can't have it that way. That's one thing when we get to the ratings face. I'll just get into it now. There are no ramifications in this movie. Like I'm a big fan of post-apocalyptic literature and film and everything is like, okay, we got to find food, we got to find water, we got to find shelter, and they're like, uh, do you want to go to nerds the mall? Yeah, I definitely want to do that right now. Okay. How long, how many days do you think this You think so? Yeah. I mean, how far is San Diego from Los Angeles? Uh, just a few hours. Driving a long haul truck? Yeah, yeah, but no, no, no bad on the back.
Starting point is 00:14:12 I'm sort of figured out how long he was gone for. At least a day or two, I would think. Yeah. It's been a minute since I've driven from LA to the West Coast? Yeah, and then up through Canada and back. Wow. I was gone for 27 days. What band was that? I was ruining. Oh, when you were in Led Zeppelin?
Starting point is 00:14:34 You got it. I'm John Bottom. Ripep. I'm the know for a series. It's a band you've probably never heard of. They were called Fields Lay Fallow. I was there Rodey. I have heard of that, but only from you. Okay, okay, okay. Ex-Spirit Assembly? Yeah, uh-huh, uh-huh, no, yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:53 Someone out there is very excited right now. Really? Probably Jim. Hi, Jim. So everybody is reduced to being piles of tang with clothes on top of it. Yeah, all dusty. Yeah, very dusty. So that's calcium dust? That's so they say. Okay. Why is it orange? And they eat all those cheetahs? Cheats it? Pardon me, cheeses. I have some respect. I know. Chees it. I prefer a cheese it to a cheeto because it doesn't get on your fingers. to eat it. the chee. the chee. the chee. the chee. Ch chee. Ch chee. the chee. the chee. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thee. theaseeaseeaseeaseeaseeaseeaseeaseeaseeaseeaseeaseeaseeaseeaseeaseeaseeaseeaseeaseeaseeaseeaseeaseeaseeaseeaseeasee. that. that's. that's. that's. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. the. they's th. they's they're th. they're the. So the. So that's that's that's that's that's for eating at the bowl. Mm-hmm. Uh-huh, uh-huh. Uh-huh, uh, you can have pruny fingers and still not get all messed up.
Starting point is 00:15:27 Yeah, yeah, yeah. They're my preferred pool snack. Yeah, so Dupree gets brained by this great zombie. Yeah. Uh, who's just like, it looks like a garbage man. I'm standing in front of a tag on the wall that says entertainment or death. I like that a lot. It's a good tag. I'm not a huge fan of the talking zombie. Yeah, that's interesting that they have him say, come here. But I really, and later when we meet the mall zombies, yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:56 They're chatty. They're chatty. They're chatting. They're not eating. Well, no. I guess. they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii. thi. thi. thi., they're like super chatting and they're just like Down to murder. Yeah, they're not eating it. Well, no, I guess the garbage man guy is eating debris when we first see him. Oh, is he? Yeah, when she comes out of the building, hold on me, let me finish this. I like these watermelons. They're extra sour. Yeah, but a bunch of garbage pill kids in the tables. Oh my gu. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the th. th. th. the th. the garbage. th. the garbage. the garbage. the garbage. the garbage. the garbage. the garbage. the garbage. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I. Yeah. Yeah. I. Yeah. Yeah. I. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I. Yeah. Yeah. I. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. is a bunch of, Glenn! That's just half my pile. Where did you get all of these? I just gave you a bunch of garbage pill kids and they're my old collection as well. Wow. I'm an old man without a garbage bail kid.
Starting point is 00:16:33 You never stuck them to anything. Mm-mm-mm. I can't commit to a sticker. Oh, yeah, so when we, when she comes out of the movie theater, when Reg comes out of the movie theater, and she first sees that zombie, he's got like a ham hawk in his hand of Larry. Oh, I missed that. Yeah, I'm just chowing down. And I was like, good ridden's to Larry. That guy sucked. Yeah, I'm glad we didn't have to suffer through this movie with him. Also, the zombie is pretty good. Yeah yeah yeah so she beats up the zombie and takes the motorcycle. Yeah just motorcycle Larry's motorcycle yeah yeah and goes to her house I guess. Yeah Sam tells her to be careful with the sweater because it cost $80. Yeah do you know what that is in
Starting point is 00:17:19 2018 money? Hold on what is that in 2018 money? 1-1-1 Wow. Yeah. That's a pricey sweater. What is that? That's a pricey sweater? I don't know, but it was a cheerleading sweater. So I would think not. Sam does not strike me as a cheerleader though. No, that was a weird, a weird character. Yeah, for sure. Not an arc. Whichever. Whoever wrote this goddamn thing? What are words for. And then she has to convince Sam that this has gone down because Sam slept in the tool shed last night. Which is how she's protected. It seems like a lot of other people should also have been protected.
Starting point is 00:17:56 You know what I mean? Yeah. Not just Reg Sam, Hector. And DMK at the end. And those two kids. Where were they? Where were they? Where were they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they sleeping they sleeping they sleeping they sleeping they sleeping they sleeping they sleeping they sleeping they sleeping they sleeping they sleeping they sleeping they sleeping they? they? their? their? their? their? their? their? their? their? their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. to. S. to. S. too. S. S. S. S. S. th. S. S. th. th. th. S. S. S. S. the. the at the end. Yeah, and those two children. And those two fucking kids. Where were they? Where were they sleeping? Oh, they were the thing in, were they in? They were somewhere in the desert, I think, that those guys had to go pick them up. I don't know. Why was there a small Asian girl in a sly boy in a nation boy? in, th some sort of steel structure. I have no
Starting point is 00:18:25 earthly idea. Okay. Did it happen before recorded time? Or before plot points? That's yeah. So they go to the local radio station once she's convinced Sam that this has gone down. I love when Sam standing there with the dog leash with the vaporized dog ash standing next to me. Yeah. I was like, oh buddy. Yeah, all right, babe. What a dog death recently on the podcast.
Starting point is 00:18:54 Oh, that's next week. Oh, that's next week. And last week? In dog soldiers, ready for more dog death next week. So much dog death. Did you think Hector looked like a weird Ralph Maggio? No. Weird, I did. I did think he was very handsome.
Starting point is 00:19:14 He's cute. I'm not saying any, I mean, Ralph Manchio. Oh yeah, he's a looker. I was very surprised that only beautiful people survived the apocalypse. I mean, that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's tha tha tha thu thu I mean that's the way it should be though, right? With reds, with her beautiful hair. Oh, thank you. And she really works a long face.
Starting point is 00:19:32 She has a long face, strong jaw, and it looks great on her. How did you feel about Sam's dream? Oh, that was good. I like a dream within a dream too, even though you're kind of like, yeah, I know it's still going, you know. Yeah, she gets pulled over by zombie cops. Yes, but she's drinking and driving and wearing what appears to be a wedding gown? Why wouldn't you in the Apocalypse? I don't know. Not that comfortable. Can I?
Starting point is 00:19:56 If it's the apocalypse. Everyone is gone, accept them for the people that you love. Let's just get rid of the sadness. It's all the people you love are with you. Okay. What's your game plan? And it can be this level of like, I'm not worried about food or shelter. What about Wi-Fi?
Starting point is 00:20:17 There's no Wi-Fi. That's done, done, done. Not going away yet. Okay. Mmm. So your Netflix cue is probably out the window. Well, I do have like four episodes of Daniel Tiger downloaded to my Kindle for important moments. Sure. So I'm going to watch those. So I'm going to do. That's my plan. Sweep pants and Daniel Tiger.
Starting point is 00:20:39 See what are you going to to the mall? I mean, I'm definitely going to the mall. What are you going to do there? You're going to wear expensive clothes, you're going to dance around. Do you still have to try them on? That's the worst part of going to the mall. You're not, you're going to go to like put on expensive clothes and be like, us doesn't fucking shopping stores. You stand there, Stark raving naked at the rack, just pulling stuff up and putting it on. I see, why would you be in a fitting room? Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:09 See, I'm still modest even in the, even in the apocalypse. Then what? You go to them all? Yeah, and then I'm going to, you know, probably drink all the tap. Weas in the juice. We using the juice. You know, figuring out how to make my own Saboro. That kind of thing. They've probably had some made in that little warming tray. You can just get down with. And that'll probably last a couple weeks. A lot of preservatives in that Sabarro. Yeah. I wonder how Adam Sparrow. Get in touch Adam. Hi, Adam Sabarro. Sorry, we're so mean. Sorry, we give nicknames to everybody and they don't want them. Who recommended this movie?
Starting point is 00:21:49 Oh, that would be the person who doesn't need a nickname because their name is already Mealy Monsterland. That's, there's nothing I can say. You've done it yourself. You win. You win. We can't stop. Once you hear that, it's just... It's in there, yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:11 So they go to the best radio station ever with the best decor. I am obsessed with that neon sign of the dancing people playing instruments. I am obsessed. That and the, what is it, RCA Victor, like the dog standing next to the like Victrola, just looking over at it, looking over at it, looking over it? It's so good. Yeah. I'm also obsessed with the decor in Hector's mom's house with the RFK portrait.
Starting point is 00:22:35 I love it. It's so good. I thought it was a little on the nose that she was just listening to like really loud like Hispanic music. Yeah, well it was police Navidad wasn't it? Was it? I think so. Okay, okay. Okay, that makes a little bit more sense then. But I do like that in rapid succession we had the RFK portrait and then it cuts to that tiny child zombie wearing a Charger's sweatshirt, which I really, really loved. That sequence of that's, that, that, that, that, that, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, I th, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I th, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, was thi. was thi.ea. tha. tha. tha. thia. thi. thi. thi, was was tiny child zombie in Chargers sweatshirt is just a plus. I love this sequence because you know in dawn of the dead or in 28 days later like killing the little kid zombie when you see him is like this like life-altering thing that happens to your character and Hector's like
Starting point is 00:23:21 fuck that I'm running away from this thing. Yeah, Hector's smart. Hector drives all the way back to Los Angeles dressed as Santa Santa Santa Santa the this this this this the th th th th. It th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. Yeah. It's th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like th. I's like th. I's like like like like th. I's like a th. It's a th. It's like a life this this the this this the life the life the life the life the life life life life life life life life life life life life life life life life life life life life life life life life life life. It's like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like the their their their their their th. I. I's like. I's like. I'm like. I'm like. I'm like. I'm like. I'm like. I'm like. I'm like. I'm like. I'm like. I'm. I'm like. I'm like. I'm like. I'm like. I'm like. I'mthat, I'm running away from this thing. Yeah, Hector's smart, smart guy. Hector drives all the way back to Los Angeles dressed as Santa Claus. I mean, why not? Who's there to stop him? So before Hector's left, there's like sparks flying between him and Reg. Yes. Yes.
Starting point is 00:23:40 It's so annoying, yet so to be thiiiii. It is. It's so annoying yet so 1984. It is. It's just like, okay, we have three characters, two of them gonna need a thing. You're gonna have to have it. And... But it's also a plot point because she's the pretty sister, right? Like, she's clearly been a overshadowing our girl, Kelly Maroney. Yeah. Who's a little on the Mousy side. It's true. That's why she's able to pull that that that that that that that that that that that to pull that to pull to pull that to pull to pull to pull to pull that to pull to pull th. th. th. th. th. th. th. tho. tho, tho, tho, thoooom. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. to, the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. true. That's why she's able to pull that off in shopping mall. Right. But she's so, I was gonna say ballsy, but she's so just like, she's on it in this movie. She's like, fuck you, fuck this, let's do this.
Starting point is 00:24:13 Yeah. I'm really into that. They both really are. like wanted to do this like post-tobaclyptic thing was talking to two teenage girls that he was on another set with and they were like oh we would do this this and this and they were like we would just go have fun yeah yeah he's like all right how do I do that yeah pretty pretty much yeah I like when Sam is broadcasting at the radio station I like that that that the the the greater Los Angeles basin. Because there's three people that was like, you did the math so quick. Yeah. Come on.
Starting point is 00:24:47 It would have taken me, there would have been paper and right. Fractions. Fractions are hard. She came up with the best name for our new band, though. What's that? All right, all you teenage comet zombies. That's pretty good. Yeah, that sounds. band actually doesn't it? A little bit. I think I was just thinking it because I was sanking downstairs trying to get away from your dog. You were picking it up pick it up pick it up pick it up pick it up. Pick it up. Jim's got face I think we
Starting point is 00:25:11 talked about this before. Oh my god yeah I'm not even entirely out of my scoffice. I will occasionally put on less than Jake and thin. Okay. calls into the hit line. Hitline. I like that a lot. And it's the scientist and Mary Warnob is hanging out with them. That was Mary Werno! I recognized her but did not look it up. She's up there for, in the most movies that we've done, or like, she's in so many of the movies that we've done. Yeah. I think she and, what's the guy, Mr. Futterman? Dick. D. D. D. D. that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's th. th. th. I's th. I's th. th. thi. thi. That's thi. th. th. th. th. th. thi. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. That's their. That's their. That's th. That's th. That's th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. th. thi. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. It's th. It's th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. It's th. It's the the the the the the the thi. It's thi. It of the movies. Yeah. I think she and what's the guy, Mr. Futterman? Dick. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. I can't think of his name right now.
Starting point is 00:25:50 But the guy who's in all the Joe Dante movies. Yeah, what is his name? He's in a shopping mall also with Mary Warnoff. Dick. Dick Miller. Richard Dick Miller. I think the the the that they think I may not know what that's short for. I love the scene where they are outside.
Starting point is 00:26:09 Oh yeah, so the scientists are like, hey, they want to come pick them up? Yeah. Check them out. So they're outside. Where did they get the machine guns from? She says the military base? She says there's like an outpost for military training. Oh really?
Starting point is 00:26:30 Yeah, and their dad used to take them there for target practice and they keep, they store automatic rifles there. Gotcha. Yeah. See I was paying attention? You weren't listening? This is a quiz. This whole podcast is a test. But I love that they're just outside firing up a car with mech tens. For no reason though. Just target practice.
Starting point is 00:26:50 This target practice. But it gets you that great line of where the gun jams and she's like, see, the problem with these? They always jammed on you. Daddy would have gotten us uzzies. Yeah. And then Reg is like the the car didn't know the difference. Yeah. Yeah, I like that. Apparently that was all improvised. Cute. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:06 Then there's them, they go to the mall. Yeah, there's a shopping montage. I love a shopping montage. I would have watched an entire movie of shopping montages. With shitty girls don't want to have they don't want to. Here's a thing about the guys, the zombies in the mall. Yeah. In a post-apocalyptic society, I'm gonna do very poorly. I just am. We've talked about this. I just am. But I hope I get to be part of a group that wears cool outfits.
Starting point is 00:27:45 Yeah. They look so cool. They're movie punk zombies. They're amazing. Although Willie is wearing a robe that says Willie? And I wonder where he got that. Yeah. From his job at Willies.
Starting point is 00:27:55 Willies? Everyone in Pittsburgh got that one. You know that? I do. Yeah. I love that all that all that all that all that all that all that all that all that all that all that all that all that all that all that? I do, I do. I do. Yeah, yeah. I love that all the zombies in the mall are wearing dark sunglasses and dangly earrings. Yeah, they look straight out of Lost Boys with those dangly earrings. Yeah, it's pretty cool.
Starting point is 00:28:13 Um, they're just like, fucking with everybody. Yeah, they're just like fucking with everybody. Yeah, they're like the they're literal monsters. But they're like the teenage version of monsters where they're gonna like torment you. But when Willie takes his sunglasses off he looks really scary with the eye things. Yeah. Yeah. Sunking skull eyes. Yeah. Yeah. He talks so goddia much. He does. And he has my favorite line in the movie. Go. I'm not crazy. I just don't th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th th. thi th thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi their their thi thi their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their they their they their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. Yeah. Yeah. thi. thi. te, tea. tea. tea. tea. tea. tea. tea. tea. tou. their tou. Yeah. I would wear that on a t-shirt. You would. You would. You would. I feel like that's a t-shirt you would get at like Hot Topic next to the ones that say like, I just do what the voice is in my head. Tell me. You know what I mean? I was going to say it's at Spencer's next to the what if the whole world farted it wants. the the t. t. t. the t. the t. the w. t. the w. the w. the w. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that's that's. I that'sthe what if the whole world farted it wants t-shirt. Wow, that's a t-shirt I would wear. That's funny. Oh my God, what would happen?
Starting point is 00:29:09 Global warming? We'd be really happy, I think. Everyone would just for one moment be like, he, he, he, that could be nice. That could be nice. Samantha's taking being shot at very lightly. She's just dancing around like their paintballs. They are not. That's what I mean about this not having any consequence. Yeah, it's true. Like, if a person was really firing an automatic weapon at you, it would be the worst moment
Starting point is 00:29:31 of your life. And she's just like, ha ha ha ha! I'll throw a shoe at you. Like, what? What? . TV on no one. Yeah, she says something about eat glass and then pushes a tube TV off a railing. This does fit into our movie. And screams.
Starting point is 00:29:49 She screams. Oh yeah. She's so excited. Yeah. This fits into our movies that could be written by a 12-year-old boy. Yeah. It's just so absurd. But there are a lot of witty lines like, the scientists are trying to find to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to their to to to to their to their to to their their to of witty lines, like, the scientists are trying to find our heroes. And the guy's like, where would adolescence go with nothing to do?
Starting point is 00:30:12 And they, that, and the mall, they find them at the mall. This is an absolute monument to consumerism. So it's very funny. The scientists find them, they kill the movie punk zombies. Willy. I wish I I I I I's is is is is th is th I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I's th we's th we's th we's they's th we's th we's th. I th. I th. I th. I th. Willies gone, RIP Willie. I wish we had gotten more Willie. Honestly, I feel like Willie got a short shrift. The world would be better. Maybe we should write the movie that's Willie up into the point of where he meets the ladies. I like that. Getting his people, we can develop the character of the guy he shoots. Yeah, maybe make you feel something for him. Yeah, yeah, sort of a dark reboot, gritty. We'll call it Willis. But so the scientists find them they kill everybody and then they're
Starting point is 00:30:51 testing red and Sam and they realize that Sam is somewhat infected. Right. Because she was only in a tool shed every night. She wasn't in the steel-walled movie projection room. They also say like of all the great intellects that could have survived. So, their, their the say like of all the great intellects that could have survived we get these two which I liked a lot. We have a couple geniuses at my school. They're both wimps. It's pretty good. It's pretty good. That's delivered by Sam and she's great. So we find out that Mary Warnoff fakes killing Sam by putting sodium pentathol. What is sodium pentathol? I know it as a truth serum, but apparently it like it just gets like dopes you up. Cool. So she gave her a high enough dose to knock her out. Gotcha. And then Marion Warnoff shoots her partner. Right. She's also been infected and it's taken over her brain. Yeah. Because it makes you dumb before you zombie. Yeah. I guess. But I like that
Starting point is 00:31:47 up until this point we're like, oh, the scientists are the good guys. Yeah. Yeah. But if they tell her to kill Sam. Yeah. Yeah. And she doesn't. Or you think she does at this point though. Right. You think she does. Yeah. So if you're Reggie and Sam and they're like, okay. Well, we're just going to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. the s. the s. the s. the s. the s. the s. the s. the s. the s. the s. the s. the s. the s. the s. the s. the s. the s. the s. the s. the s. the s. the s. they. they. they. They're leaving one behind, two behind with her though, you know what I mean? Yeah, but still, wouldn't you want to stay with your sister at this point? I do remember thinking, like, why would they agree to this as like, trying to bone down on Hector before Reggie gets the chance so that actually does kind of make sense. It's it's Reggie who doesn't make sense at this point. Yes. I like when she's being interviewed I'm sorry I'm jumping all over the place but like when she's being interviewed and they're like are you or have you ever been pregnant? She's to. to or. to to to to to to to or or to to the the the the to the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. Are th. Are th. Are th. Are th. th. th. th. th. th. Like, I just like that they're just, it's so dumb.
Starting point is 00:32:46 She's so stupid and they're so mean. But then she was like, uh, says you, it was the worst three weeks of my life. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I also like that there's no, like, the to fuck. They're just like- There's no morality tale in this at all. Which I feel like a lot of those 80s movies had that flavor. Right, they should, by all accounts, be dead, two of them. Then Hector shows up as Santa Claus.
Starting point is 00:33:12 Right? Yeah. And he can't find them because of course they didn't stay where they were when he left. Oh, no, he's dressed is dressed is dressed is dressed is dressed is dressed is dressed is dressed is dressed is dressed is dressed is dressed is dressed as dressed as dressed as dressed as dressed as dressed as hea. cowboy now. Well yeah oh yeah he's dressed up to Santa Claus when he first comes back and then he changes into cowboy clothes when he goes. He was Santa Claus for nothing wasn't he? He brought her present back when he thought that she'd still be at the movie or at the radio station. What was the present? You don't know. We never find out? Interesting. Maybe was that weird dress that she's wearing at the end of the movie? I have so many? to. I. I th. I th. I th. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was th. I was th. I was th. Starting point is 00:33:45 Well, let's get to it. OK, OK. So he goes to the military. He finds the military base. I don't remember how. I'm trying to remember how Sam got out there. He has her in the trunk. Oh, that's right.
Starting point is 00:33:56 that's right. I guess I guess I guess I guess I guess I guess. I guess. I guess. I guess. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I guess. I think that's what happens. They take her back to the radio station to quote-unquote wait for Hector. And he, though Mary Wernoff leaves the note about what the scientists are doing. Right. He puts... That's where she kills herself. Yeah, she kills herself. And then he takes Sam with him and the rothey do the ruse where she's in the trunk and he's the cowboy drinking out of an old Miller light can but it's the current Miller light can which I thought was dumb I don't know what did I think it was I was like I know that beer can it was like a drunk dad can but now it's just a
Starting point is 00:34:35 regular can you know so this is where I had the note Mary Warnoff was a hero because she had revealed the the the the the th. the the th. the th. th. th. the th. th. the th. Sam is a badass, jumps out of the trunk, it just starts beating to this dude's ass. Right. He, they like, he's like, look at this dead person in my trunk. And when the guy leans over, she's like, blah. I love that Hector just has a can of gasoline. He's gonna go fuck shit up with it. Yeah, why not? Yeah. I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I. not? Yeah. I said Hector would sneak around with gasoline like a real Steve from Alien Factor. Oh God, at least Hector knew to take the lid off. Exactly. Yeah. So we were inside the scientists base of operations now and we see that they're taking blood from children. We're trying to, they like try to put nitrous on the kids. Yeah. We're gonna have a lot of natures up coming coming. their their to come come come come come come come come come come their-upy-upy-upy-upy-up-up-up-up-up-up-up-up-up-up-up-up-up-up-up-up-up-up-up-up-up-up-up-up-up-up-up-up-up-up-up, their-up-up-up-up-up-up-up-up. I their their their their their their their their their their their their stuff. I I their stuff. I their stuff. I I I their stuff. I I I's their stuff. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I's their-n. I's their-ni-ni-ni-ni-ni-ni-ni-ni-ni-ni-ni-ni-ni-ni-ni-ni-ni-I-I-I'm th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. to put natures on the kids. Yeah. We have a lot of natures upcoming on this podcast too.
Starting point is 00:35:26 It's a very natures week for us. Uh, I have the note, dynamite too, Hector? You're a dream boat. He is. And weird Ralph Macho face. I can see it now that you bring it up. How old do you think Hector is? Oh too old for Reggie. Okay. Yeah, Reggie's supposed to be like 18. Yeah, she says I'm 18. I can stay wherever I want. Yeah. So Hector is what, 30? Late 20s probably? Yeah. What are you gonna do? I mean when you're, the pool's a little shallow right now. As it turns out she's a wonderful mother,
Starting point is 00:36:03 so. There's these two kids. My parents told me never to breathe anything from strangers. Did you hear that long? No, I didn't and I like it. It's so good because like, they're going to free the kids, like, the their, their today's, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, to to to to to be, too, to be... to be. to be. to be. to be. their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, to to to to to to be.......... to.. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. t. to. to. their, their. to. to. to. from strangers. And I was like, in what situation did that come up? But don't you feel like I should tell my kid that now? Yeah, yeah. Yeah, don't, don't inhale anything a stranger gives you to inhale.
Starting point is 00:36:32 I just saw that you just made a note of it. I did. Notes, notes for parenting. So they grab the kids, they get in a car. They blow up a truck. It's a great explosion. It is. Yeah. I have to note how quickly we get used to murder.
Starting point is 00:36:56 Yeah, I mean, Hector is like kids cover your eyes for Uncle Hector so that he can murder like seven people. And we've seen at this point that the main zombie guy scientist is totally turned. Yeah, he's a bad face. He has a bad face. He has a bad face. It's a bad face. And then they just drive off into the darkness. Yeah, the rain washes all the dust away.
Starting point is 00:37:21 What does that have to do with anything? The dust wasn't like, is that how people were getting, is that how it was, I don't understand. So the sky was like totally orange for all the movie? Oh yeah, because Reggie goes outside and doesn't notice if there are piles of clothes everywhere and goes, hmmmogs today. Yeah, okay. I do remember driving into Los Angeles for the first time and just being like, ew. Yeah, it's gross. It's just thick and brown. Yeah, it's hard. It's hard to breathe. Yeah. So the rain comes, washes the sky,
Starting point is 00:37:49 washes the ground. Everything's now pretty and blue. And we see that they're having picture day with the kids. What the fuck is going on? They're all dressed in formal wear. Like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, to to the their, to to to to, to, to to to to to to to, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, to to to to to to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the thr. the the toe. toe. the the toe. toe. Yeah. And they're taking a lot of Polaroids and Hector is just like being a doting father to these children. Reg is 18, though the boy child is probably 11. Yeah, 1112. That's her son now. They are just being this weird family and that's when I was like, okay, you just couldn't figure out how to end this, huh? They become a nuclear family. Across the street from them, like just, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, like, th, th, like, th, like, th, th, like, like, th, th, like, th, like, th, like, like, th, like, thi, like, like, like, like, like, thi, thi, like, like, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, like, thi, like, like, like, like, like, like, thi, like, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thiiiiii. thiii. thii. thi. thi. thi, thi, family. Across the street from them is Sam, like just dressed like she's going to the beach.
Starting point is 00:38:26 Dressed like Wonder Woman. She's wearing like a Lycra body suit of red, white and blue. That's right. But like a shawl or something? Yeah, she's a shawl. She's wearing, she's a little bit modest. And she's like sort of being left out, you know, yeah. They they're gonna meet up on the other side of the street But new mom won't let the kids cross on and no walk side It'd be even though there is no traffic because everyone is gone. What do they do with their days? Become a family become a nuclear family what oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, tho' thii. they??? they? they? they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they's they. they's they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. t t t t tode. toda. toda. toda. toda. toda. today. the the today. fuck this. You could cross whatever you want, runs out, dances in the street. She's all angry. And a car comes speeding out of nowhere and almost hits her. Did you wish it had a kind of hit her? No. No. Well, I thought it would have been a funny end to the movie. Sam's dead. Well, not dead, but maybe just busted up. the th. Just like oh, yeah, exactly. A comedic 80s car hit.
Starting point is 00:39:26 And this is where we meet Danny Mason Keener. Oh, he does say that twice. Yeah, yeah. DMK. He's, I guess, Sam's dream boat, dude. She just gets in the car with him. So like they're just going to repopulate the earth. That's fucking gross and weird.
Starting point is 00:39:48 Super gross and super weird. Honestly. But I love that they're just like, they're not worried about food. They're not worried about shelter. They're not worried about, they're worried about fucking. Yeah. Who am I going to fuck? Your choices are very slim.
Starting point is 00:40:05 It's just DMK and Hector. Yeah. And that is Night of the Comet. Yeah, it is. I gotta say, I'm sorry you had to develop a taste for these shlocky 80s movies. Like a good taste? I think so.
Starting point is 00:40:19 Okay, you know, between this and chopping mall and what else have we done recently that was an 80s really like ridiculous? Hmm, I'm trying to think. I don't know, I've done a bazillion movies. Yeah, yeah. We've done a bunch of these though, yeah, for sure. All of them I think, right? Yeah, we've covered all the 80s. Are there ratings face? It's not the same voice earlier. I'll just hurt my shoulders doing it too.
Starting point is 00:40:47 Yeah, you just really strained yourself. Are you okay? Do you stretch? I'm fine. Okay. Um, sure, I'll go to the ratings face. Would you like to go foist? Sure? I really like this movie. It's super dumb. Yeah, it's real fun. There's small small. the small. the small. the small. the small. the small. the small. the small. the small. the small. the small. the small. the small. the small. the small. the small. the small. the small. the small. thine. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. The end is terrible. The last scene should just not have existed. It should have just been them driving off into the dark. I feel. Yeah. But seeing Reg as like a doting mother of preteens was really uncomfortable. So that's the only thing knocking it down for me. So I'm going th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. the. the. the. theeeeeeat. theeeat. theeeat. theeeeea. theeeea. theea. the. the the the. the's the only thing knocking it down for me. So I'm going to give it an eight. I love it.
Starting point is 00:41:27 Yeah. What about you? This movie is so much fun. It's so silly. It's like, just so wonderfully. But like I said, like I know, I recently been reading a lot of fossilized litic literature because the world right now. I'm getting ready. Can we just lie down and die?
Starting point is 00:41:46 Is that the idea? No. That we agreed. Yeah, I'm just getting ready so that when it happens, I can go, oh yeah, that's what's happening. Okay, we're good. Okay, just so you can recognize it. I'll send you a text to the text, if it's the apocalypse. You said I don't have I'll do it right before. Okay, okay. I'll have enough knowledge. I'll have my phone in my hands at all times. I have a certain
Starting point is 00:42:07 kind of pressants that I can see stuff exactly when it's happening. The moment that it occurs. You and Helga. This movie's a nine. This movie is so much fun. Yeah. If you love the 80s in neon and movie punk zombies and movie punks and movie punk zombies and Mary Warnoff. Big hair and spandex and malls. Yeah, if you like fun. Do you like fun? Nah. Oh yes I do. I lied. I am a girl and thus.
Starting point is 00:42:32 I don't want to have fun. I don't want to have fun. I don't want to have fun. Thank you to a mealy monster. . Thank you. Katie, now that we're done with the ratings phase, yeah. Can I take you to another favorite place of ours? Yes. M-mah-mail bag?
Starting point is 00:42:53 I'm already there. Girls just want to have mail bag. Yes. This is from Ariel L. Hi Ariel. She says, I find it very hard to find new podcast that I can listen to. There's a buzzillion of them out there, Ariel. I don't know if you know. Not all of them are listenable though. That's true. My sister told me about you guys a few months ago. Starting point is 00:43:35 Apparently she used to live in Du Bois. Ah, do boys, not Dubois. You definitely makes some reference to she doesn't, the, the, the, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, to, thi, to, thi, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, too, too, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, they... they. they. they. tho, tho, tho, tho, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, Dubois, you might think, but it's Du Bois. She definitely makes some reference to she doesn't live there anymore and she definitely wouldn't have stalked us if she did. So it's probably good that Ariel's moved away. Hey Ariel, I don't think people moved out of Du Bois. I that once you were in Du Bois, for the long haul. Oh, way to drop the yins. Now you're on our good side. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. And th. Starting point is 00:44:34 I don't know if that's true. I just made that up. Yeah, you want to head up. You're going to go up. Yeah, you're going to go up. You know, to go up, anyway. I don't really know where state colleges and I just choose not the middle of the goddance. Look, I know Pittsburgh.
Starting point is 00:44:49 Yeah, I got. Altuna. Okay. I got Harrisburg. Sure. I got Philadelphia. Okay. I don't know anything else. Very mushy. Katie. It's a big state. It's a big state.
Starting point is 00:45:05 People always think Philadelphia is right next to Pittsburgh. It's like 300 miles away, Bozo's. Yeah. It's a long, boring drive. Very boring. Yeah. What's the tunnel? I don't like to play the whole breath game while you go through it.
Starting point is 00:45:17 While you drive? Yeah. What about the double tunnel? Nah, never passed out. Oh boy. Ha ha ha ha ha ha. Hey Alan. Hey, Katy. I know that we've been teasing our EMTs with some big news for a while. Should we just tell them? We, yeah, I think we should. What do you want to tell them? So every week we come to you, live on tape delay

So tickets are going to go on sale for this on September 1st. We'll send out a link. Limited edition, limited edition tickets. Get in there while they're hot. It's intimate is what we're calling it.
Starting point is 00:46:50 An intimate night with were-wool fabulence. This is the small room so you guys can fill it up and make us with where will fabulance. Ten bucks. Proceeds, proceeds benefit us. My favorite charity. Yeah, the charity of Wehrlfambul. Yeah, so we'll...
Starting point is 00:47:15 Look, we bring joy. We bring joy. Oh, God. We are bringers of mirth and joy. I really think you're going to say mercy? We are just like, mercy killing or something, which is not. I'm no, I have no expertise in. I love the leaps that you make as soon as I start something. Oh, you're going to say blood that right now, aren't you?
Starting point is 00:47:34 I think I watched too many crime dramas. Anyway, October 5th. And then show starts at 8 p.m. promptly. I am a punctual person. We're doing this on time. Alan's also very functual. We're putting the punk back in punctuality. I like that a lot. $10.
Starting point is 00:47:54 Tickets on sale September 1. It'll be on event bright but we'll put the links everywhere. And we will be reminding you incessantly until it happens. Oh, weekly until then. Also, this little bit that you're hearing here is going to be in every episode for about the next month because we are, uh, we're recording this remotely and we've recorded well in advance. So fuck you, I guess. Fast forward if you've already heard it. I don't know. There's a a new secret thing at the end of everyone. So listen all the way through. This one is pickle. Whearwolves.
Starting point is 00:48:33 Yeah, it's gonna be good. It's gonna be fun. And we'll have new t-sh-saheat. It's a new, all new, wherewool ambulance. And yeah and other stuff so we'll let you know more about that as it comes closer. Yeah and we'll see you there. Right? Guys? Guys? What if they just us in an empty room? We'll just record another fucking podcast. Yeah we'll pretend it never happened. We'll do the podcast that we had to pay a lot of money to record. Oh, wah! Waa!
Starting point is 00:49:09 Waawa. Katie. Alan. What do you want to do next week? Okay, like you're saying that? Because you're mad at me. I'm not mad at me. Obviously, we're recording two podcasts at once.
Starting point is 00:49:23 Also, I just want to say that this is this next episode will be the sixth that we've recorded in three weeks based on our various vacation plans. So we're going a little baddie. We're marathoning it right now. We're really are. We're just stockpiling these. This is my fault, and I'm sorry.

But right now, we're doing my suggestion. Alan's already mad at me, so like, I've never been mad at you, you're mad at you. Before this very moment, I've never been mad at. You're mad at me while you're watching it. We'll Taco Bell. Suggested by listener Katie, not a listener, just a recorder. Yeah. Just a co-host.
Starting point is 00:50:07 I'm here. I'm doing it. Corman Brinson stars in the movie, the dentist. It's on the, uh, Amazon. I watched it for free on Voodoo. Oh. It had ads, but there were only like three ads in the entire movie. thi. seconds apiece so I thought it was well worth it. That reminds me of my favorite beginning to a voodoo glow skulls record speaking of SCA.
Starting point is 00:50:26 Yeah. Who do voodoo? We do fuck you? Love that. God, SCA's so good. It's so not threatening. You know what I mean? They were that punk sco-skah though.
Starting point is 00:50:36 So it's a little edgier. Or Metascophles, or the Scottalites. Oh yeah, Skanking and Pickle. O'Scama Bin Skankin'. Real band name. Kind of love it. Bart Scompson. Metalloscop? It's a Portlandia joke.
Starting point is 00:51:02 It's not good. I mean, it's good when they did it. So come back next week and hear us talk about the dentist. He's mad. Do you hear that? He's mad?
