Starting point is 00:00:00 Katie. Alan. Alan. Hello. Hello. Hello? Hello? Hello?
Starting point is 00:00:09 Hello? I'm afraid I'm going to find out that you're a vampire right now. I'm afraid I'm going to find out that you're a vampire right now. That's my voice. You didn't ask me if I had an interest, I thought I would just surprise you. I was just gonna welcome everyone to another episode of Swearwolf Ambulance. Swearwolves, not werewolves. I'm Katie. I'm a Swearwolf, 100%.
Starting point is 00:00:44 And fuck anyone who says otherwise. We've gotten multiple reviews that say we swear like sailors, which I really appreciate. We fucking do. I mean like, fuck it. You know what I mean? Welcome to another episode of Wearwolf Ambulance. I'm Katie. I'm Alan. We're Swearwolves. We're doing the movie. What do we do in the shadows? What we do in the shadows? Interview with the vampire. This makes a better use of the, I feel. I wonder if that's why they forced the the into that sense.
Starting point is 00:01:13 I don't think it's forced in there. What we do in shadows just makes more sense to me. I don't like that as much. You've got one of the majors and are the diplomas from colleges that I don't have. I do have a college diploma in movie titling. This is a 2014 New Zealand film. We did another New Zealand film that I liked a lot which was housebound. Remember that? Oh that movie's great. That was so good. It was also a hilarious comedy movie. Yeah yeah yeah. Written and directed by Jermaine Clement and Takeawattiti. Until you said that, I thought it was Germain. It's Germain.
Starting point is 00:01:50 Jemain. Yeah. Of course it is. Why would it be Germain? I didn't realize that he was part of Flight of the Concord's? Did you like that? I mean, I saw some of it at all. You're making a face in me me me me me me me me me me me me me me me me me th me th me th and me like and me like and me like and me like and me like and me like and me like like and me like like like like and me like like and me like like and me like like like like and me like like like and me like and me like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, I never watched the whole thing. I never saw it at all. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:05 You're making a face and me like, it's not good. It's a musical comedy? Yeah. Which only gets me so far. Sure. Sure. Sure. I think I dated a guy who was real into it and I thought he was stupid so I thought that it was
Starting point is 00:02:18 by then proxy stupid. Okay, is that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's a that's a that makes sense. But maybe not. Because man, Jemaine Clement in this movie would. A lot of love is real hot. He's so madly. Yeah, he's like the way I want a vampire to be hot in a movie. Not Tom Cruise, not Brad Pitt. But he's totally Gary Oldman. Not Gary Oldman, because he's old and weird. No, he's great. Everybody. No, he's great.
Starting point is 00:02:45 Yeah. Everybody's great. Oh yeah, it's great. It's great. Let's get to the bottom of it. Have you seen other Tequah Tegawattiti movies? No, need me some. Hunt for the Wilder People?
Starting point is 00:02:56 No. Uh, starring our favorite, Sam Neal. Your favorite? It's great. It's really. It's really. It's really. It's really. It's really. It's really. It's really. It's really. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. th. to. th. th. th. th. th. to. th. th. the the the the the the the the the the old man and a kid that go on the lamb from the cops. It's really good. Okay. And he did the Thor Ragnarock movie, which was... No, I didn't see that. Fucking fantastic parts of it. Because then there was like superheroes punching it that I don't give a shit about the comedy.
Starting point is 00:03:21 But the comedy was on fucking point. I heard a th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th tho tho tho th tho tho tho that that that that that that that thathea thathea thathea thathea that that that that that thatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheat. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that th. that that. that that. that that that that that thoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. th. th. a shit about, but the comedy was on fucking point. I heard a lot of good things about that movie, despite my best efforts to hear nothing about that movie. Oh, you can listen to an episode of Marveling at Marvel's Marvels Marvels where we discussed that movie in its fullness. I feel like we haven't plugged Marvel and Marvel's Marvels for a while, so if you like Alan and you can't get enough, you just can't get enough enough enough enough enough enough enough enough enough enough enough enough enough enough enough enough enough enough enough enough enough enough enough enough enough enough to get enough to get enough to get enough to get enough to get enough to get enough to get enough to get to get enough 't get enough. Just can't seem to get enough of A-A-A-A-A-A-Lan. And I love to Fesh Mode. Yeah, me too. You can listen to Marveling and Marvels-Marvels. It's about superheroes or something. Comics? You tell me. Come for the Allen, stay for the John and Joseph. Yes. You're going're to be much more rewarded by those two actually contributing to the podcast, not just going, come on guys.
Starting point is 00:04:10 Is it your job? That's mainly my job. You're the judge whopner of the situation or the guy you like. Fine, Doug Lue Wellen. I'm gonna make you a Doug Lue Well a t-I'm gonna make you a tie. So, yeah, what we do in the shadows is a documentary, a real true documentary, filmed in New Zealand. Yep, this is what New Zealand is like, I think. Uh, about the, uh, what is the masquerade ball that they're all going to? Yeah, uh, let's see what it's called.
Starting point is 00:04:39 The masquerade ball seems fine. Yeah, so this is the build-up to that. It happens every year in Wellington. And we're following these four vampire flatmates. All of this is so fucking funny and ridiculous. Yeah. And they're great because they're all vampire archetypes. Right. So we've got Viago, which is Tegowat Tegowat's character, who's the 379-year-old Dandy. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:05:06 Mm-hmm. Jermaine Clement is Vlottaslav, and he is the Vladimir. Yes. He's, they make no bones about like, but as he says, he was like, I'm, they called me the poker or something like that? I used to, I used to like to pierce people. Yeah, right, right, right. And then Jonathan Brug is Deacon, who's the young book at 183. That character is just so hard to watch. I love him so much. Yeah. When he's doing his sexy dance is fucking hilarious. And then there's Ben Franz Scham, which is a great just British derivative name of just like
Starting point is 00:05:46 throwing letters together to come up with a name, who is the 8,000-year-old Natsfaratu like Peter. Yeah. Oh man, and just the whole like opening scene of Viago waking everybody up. And they're like hanging upside down in closets or in a casket downstairs. Or having a fucking orgy. Yeah, right. It looked like that scene in Bramswakers Dracula. Yeah, where Keanu gets his Wang bit. Oh my god, come on.
Starting point is 00:06:20 That would be so goddamn good. No it isn't. Whenever I list what other vampire movies we've done, I always forget to put that one in there, and I promise I'll do it this time. Yeah, much loved to John and Allison. No, it was a great, a great episode. It's the only movie to ever actually make me throw up. Well, it was at a rough time. It was a horro- It was a horrown time, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it was a horrown time, it, it, it was a, it was a, it was a, it was a, it, it was a, it was a, it was a, it was a, it was a, it was a, it was a, it was a, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was a, it was a, it was a, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was a, it was a, it was a, it was a, it was a, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it was a, it was a, it was a, it was a thi. It was a thi. It was a thi. It was a thi. It was a thi. It was a thi. It was a thi. It was a thi. It was a h thi. It was a th. It was a th. It was a th. th th th th th th th th th thi. th th th thi. thi. th thi. thi, it was a th time for me and also that scene where they cut off Lucy's head and then it cuts to a piece of undercooked meat. I was like, roar! It was really
Starting point is 00:06:50 hard, that's really bad. Oh man. This movie has a lot of blood. Just saying. So there's the documentary crew followed them around, they're going to the vampire ball. And, but like, Deacon's not doing the dishes. So that's the first plot point point that we we we that. It th. It th. It th. It th. It th. It th. It th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. It's the the the their their their their their their. It's like. It's like. It's like. It's like. It's their. It's their. It's their. It's their. It's the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's the th. It's th. It's th. It's a th. It's a th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's the th. It's the the the the the the th.there's the documentary crew followed them around, they're going to the vampire ball, and but like Deacon's not doing the dishes, so that's the first plot point that we hit. And the dishes are all just completely covered in blood. What the fuck are they using dishes? Yeah, I don't, I see them eat and many times and they do not require cutlery or anything like that. But there are multiple dishwashing sashashashashashashashashashashashashashashashashashashashashashashashashashashashashash there are multiple there are multiple their their their there are multiple their their their their their their their their their their th. their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their. that. that. that. that. that. th. that. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi is thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. the. the. theeeeeeeeeeeeeea. that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that. But there are multiple dishwashing scenes in the movie. Yeah. It's very, like, also real world, you know? Oh for sure. It's when vampires stop being polite and start trying to figure out what clubs they can go to. True story. I love what Viago's getting out of his
Starting point is 00:07:38 coffin at the very beginning and he's doing that like Nosferat too, like rise straight up. And he stops halfway and she's like, ha ha ha, and then goes the rest of the way. I like that he's always like smiling at the camera. I like him when people on reality television smile at the camera. The kids stop. Yeah. with the flying while vacuuming and all that shit. Oh, it's so fucking funny. Their house is great. I wish I lived in their house. It's so cool.
Starting point is 00:08:10 Yeah. Yeah. When they're giving back story and Deacon is talking about how he was a Nazi vampire. Oh, that's right. I already forgot about that. I've to be honest. I've seen this movie before. I'm the the the the the. I've the. the. the. I was really tired so I got very drunk.
Starting point is 00:08:26 Oh, okay, I see. Yeah, like you do when you're really tired. Sure, no, you got to push, push on. You're gonna break through the wall of sleep into the wall of intoxicated. Yeah, just being blindly exhausted. But I did forget about that and that is very funny. He's like like, you know, after the war that the Nazis lost. You know they lost, right? You know they lost. It was bad to be a Nazi. And it's always bad to be a vampire. Now imagine being a Nazi vampire.
Starting point is 00:08:56 I hope, I assume that a lot of this stuff was just ad libbed ridiculousness. Yeah, because that never comes back. We never hear that that that. Yeah, he's not like spouting off and doing shitty stuff. No, that's it. We learned that Viago came for a woman that he loved in his home country. That was very sad. Until the end. And by the time, his butler guy, his renfield basically, but the wrong postage on his crypt when he sent him to New Zealand.
Starting point is 00:09:25 So it took him 18 months to get here and his lady was already married when he showed up. That's so sad. But when she gives him, she gave him a necklace made of silver and he puts it on and he's just smoking. Is silver a thing that vampires can't, is that a vampire mythology? I didn't know that. Yeah. That doesn't seem right to me. I think it was because it was because it was because the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi thi thi thi, thi, thi, thi, the thi, thi, the thi, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, their, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, the the they. the they. the they. they. the the they. the the they. the the they. the the they. they. the the the the. t. Yeah. That doesn't seem right to me. I think it was because it was hard to come by so it was precious so make it like more give it some, same thing with mirrors, give them some weight. All right. Yeah. There are a lot of mirror gags in this movie too of just like them holding cups in front of mirrors and nothing and drawing sketches of one another to see what they look like when they're getting ready to go out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out, which, which, which, to go, to go, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, the, the, the, the, to, to, the, the, the, and, their, and, and their, and, and, and their, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, the, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, the, and, and, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, to see what they look like when they're getting ready to go out, which I loved. That's so good.
Starting point is 00:10:05 It's super good. It's reminiscent of that scene in Clulus, where Cher's like, never trust a mirror, so they're always taking Polaroids of their outfits. I think, I honestly believe it was a hat tip to that scene. I would imagine, yeah. of artists. So some of them are just super shitty. Yeah. I also like that these outfits they're putting together with like camo pants and like a... And like a poet's blouse? Yeah. And they're like he puts on some like dandy jacket and
Starting point is 00:10:34 they're like you can't wear that with a camo pants. Yeah. This is my look. So they go out of the street they get accosted by some teen and they're out of the street, they get accosted by some teen, and they're like, they're like 60 to 70 vampires in Wellington, and they're just like hissing at each other on the street. And there's the little girl vampires, and they're like, you're catching pedophile. Yeah, I love them. I normally hate a child vampire. I like those too, because later we see them just eating someone in the back of a van. I love to be, like, that would be a great to catch a predator TV show, just a little girl vampires kill like, fennifiles. Yeah, I would watch that.
Starting point is 00:11:11 Yeah, we mean Jackie? Poor Jackie. Yeah, what are you doing? She just wants to be a vampire. Why does anyone want to be a vampire? Although in this universe I can almost understand it, because they're having fun. But like, oh God, immortality. Yeah. I would just rather be dead.
Starting point is 00:11:31 I love the scene later on where Nick loses somebody and Deacon sits down and goes, this is what this is. Yeah. It's just a loss. Yeah. That didn't need to be in there. This is a comedy movie. But I like that like, I don't know. I thought that was like a really good, like poignant moment that was then immediately like, hope I made you feel better. Yeah. Yeah. And you know, she gets into that whole thing that we talked about of like, I'm at my prime right now. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. Yeah. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that that that that that that that. that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that. I that. I that. I that. I that. I that. I that. I that. I that. I that. I that. I that. I that. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. that. that. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I that. I that. I that. I that. Ithough, which I think is an interesting time to become a vampire.
Starting point is 00:12:07 Because like, they're up during the day. Yeah, and a husband. Yeah. Who's now her familiar? Who's gonna raise those kids? The husband? I guess. She's gonna be out partying and murdering people. It's a bummer of a mom.
Starting point is 00:12:21 Yeah, for sure. I assume that becoming a vampire is a very selfish thing to do. I think so. I can't imagine a more self-centered thing to do than become immortal. Making someone else immortal so they're your best friend forever. Oh, you Tom Cruise, you dick. So we learned that Vlad is really good at hypnosis, at least he used to be, until the beast knocked his powers out of him? Oh right. We keep seeing sketches of the beast, which appears to be like a beaver with a dick? Just squirt in the middle of its chest. Yeah. Just a tickin' balls. It's so weird. It's very bizarre. So he's there's a sea where he's like, at the end of the night, he wants to feed on somebody. So he like goes to a woman's house, and he's like, oh, there's a woman all alone,
Starting point is 00:13:06 I'll stand outside and get her to let me in. So he's like, see me. Oh yeah. See me. And then we cut to him standing outside. Or he's like, oh,, see me, punch the window. I like that a lot. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:31 Yeah. So Deacon has gotten Jackie to bring him a guy and a girl to eat. Virgins. Yeah, not virgins. So this is where we mean. She looks like a virgin. She looks like a virgin. She talks like a virgin. She looked like Amy Mann in the Big Lavowski.
Starting point is 00:13:48 I don't know what that means. Have you never seen the Big Lavowski? Ah, kind of. I've seen it. You know? When Rob and I first started dating, I like funny things. And then he just like fast forwarded to scenes he liked. I don't know why he was doing that. And I like haven't really watched it since. I get the gist.
Starting point is 00:14:08 Not I mean? Okay. Do you know who Amy Mann is? Formerly vocalist of Till Tuesday. Yes, I do. I know her from Portland, yeah. So they had this great dinner scene where like, she's like, yeah, they're virgins and Nick's like, no, I'm not. She's like, well, you were where we were dated. I was 12. And then the
Starting point is 00:14:31 Basketti scene. I like, so they, they dump cans of canned spaghetti onto their plates and Deacon just keeps saying you like, pusgetty. And then he's like, you like eating worms? And then in like the confessional scene, he's like, we got that from the lost boys. It's pretty good. But I put a little spin on it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:56 Uh, Nick, how do you like that your penis is now a snake? Wait, didn't that happen in Santa Sangre last week? Wow that's weird. Do you like Baskettie? It's the most tracuilar way to say spaghetti. It really is. And he says it a bunch of times and it doesn't stop being funny. So. the earlier we learned that when Vlad lost his powers, he could still shape-shifted animals, but he never gets the faces right. So when Nick is running around the house tried to find his way out after the Basketti and penis incident, we see Vlad as a cat but it just a cat with his face. Super post on it. Very good.
Starting point is 00:15:48 There's the legit scary scene for me in this movie. Which is that? When he's running around the house and he has his book bag on, and Deacon starts climbing out of his book bag. That's really good. I like that a lot. And then he's like dropped on the floor and he starts like scuttling across. Yeah, squirming out, yeah. So gross, so freaky. And then the police come,
Starting point is 00:16:10 but they like hypnotize the police into not seeing them, which is funny. New Zealand police, Kiwis, can we call them Kiwis? Kiwis. They seem ineffectual. So Peter turns Nick into a vampire. Yeah, Nick is just like a dude with a neck tattoo.
Starting point is 00:16:35 Yeah. He's like some, I guess he's supposed to be a hipster. Just your every man broke. Sure. He comes sneaking in the window. It's two months later now. And he interrupts Deacon's sexy dance for Vlad and Viago? Why is he doing that? I don't know, but he yells at him, you interrupted my erotic dancing? Yeah. Yeah. Oh my god. And Nick can't stop telling everyone that he's a vampire. Yeah, just running down the street,
Starting point is 00:17:07 telling people that he's a vampire tear. Until he tells a man who says, I'm a vampire hunter. Ha ha ha ha, no, not ha, he is a vampire hunter. And he kills Peter by leaving the window open. Yeah, poor Peter. I mean, he's 8,000 years old. I love all the scenes where like when they bring stew into the house and Nick like goes downstairs to tell Peter's like, it's my friend Stu, he's a human and we're going to ask that you don't eat him and Peter just like nodding. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:17:34 Yeah, he has no lines. He hisses occasionally. Everyone's terrified of him. He generally keeps to himself. the thia. the th and thii. thi, I I, th and th and th and thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th. thi, thi, thi, to too, too, too, too, too, too, told, told, told, told, told, toe, to to be, to be, to be, th. th. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. tooooooo. tooooo. toe. toe keeps to himself I guess. But that's when he burns to a crisp is great. Yeah. When Flaid is like running with a pot of water to put him out. And then the vampire hunter dies. His head is like turned around on his body, which I like a lot. Yeah. Yeah. And he's like, oh I know that guy. He told me it was a vampire hunter. We exchanged emails. Yeah, I just gave him my email. And so then they do the procession of shame. Where they just all say shame in the front yard, I think, is basically a-
Starting point is 00:18:14 Yeah. Why? They kick Nick and Stu out. Yeah, Stu is Nick's a technology analyst or something. He just shows them how to to to to to use to use to use to use to use to use to use to use to use to use to use to use to use the to use the the their their their their to use their or something. He works in IT. He just shows them how to use like the internet. You can look at her photos or you can poker. Yes. Poker. The whole, uh, when Viago calls his like his former Redfield, who's like, Master, he said you turned me, I'm 90. Yeah. Oh, like, okay have to go. I'm just how do I hang up how do I hang up? Oh, man. So, so good. So they go to the the my I maybe this is because I was drunk but the thing about this movie is that there isn't much of a plot. Like there's not much action. It's mostly just observing them I guess just a bunch of scenes. Yeah, so I guess the clim. The cl the clim the clim the clim the clim the clim the clim the clim the clime the clime the clima the clima the clima. The cl. The cl. The cl. The cl. The cl. The cl. The cl. I to. I to. to. to. mostly just observing them, I guess. Yeah, just a bunch of scenes, yeah. So I guess the climactic scene is supposed to be the masquerade ball.
Starting point is 00:19:08 I had forgotten that was, because they mentioned it at the beginning, that it's a big deal. And then you don't hear about it again until it's happening. Yeah. So they meet already met the werewolves on the street. That's where we get the, I love that they don't show them changing at the first. They're just like growling and barking. Yeah, and like um lunging aggressively like dogs might. Yeah. And this is also where we meet the beast. Yeah. Did you like the beast? Yeah. Did you like the beast? Why was that her boyfriend? What was he? He's like a lumpy vampire.
Starting point is 00:19:47 The Beast could do better, I feel. I feel like I should recognize the reference that his makeup was. It was like familiar to me, but I couldn't pin down what it was. I don't know. So the Beast is just Vlad's ex-girlfriend. Yeah, just had a bad breakup. But she drained all his powers, apparently. I love what he stops feeding and he just turns like ashen gray. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:10 And he's just like... It's old. Leave me to do my dark bidding on the internet. I'm going to get this chair. His dark bidding was on eBay. That's very funny. It's very funny. They go to the Cathedral Despair for the Masquerade Ball, which is the Victoria Bowling Club. Yes, it's great. It looks like a really fun party I would like to go. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:37 Yeah. Sombie is not as much, I guess. But they're trying to be more sophisticated now. Yeah, it was cute. There's the raffle, which I figured Pittsburghers would love. Yes, love a raffle. And we also see Jackie there and find out that Nick has turned her into a vampire. And now Deacon doesn't have anyone to do his chores. I like that, too. I'm glad Jackie gets hers, even if it's a dumb thing to want. Oh man.
Starting point is 00:21:05 When... And so Nick... He's always fucking up. And he brings Stu to the vampire ball? Yeah. And the camera crew, and the zombie's like talking to Stu and just goes, are you a pre-deceased?
Starting point is 00:21:23 Stoo looked so familiar to me, but he doesn't seem to be an actor. Just those rosy cheeks. I think so. So they realize that he is a human, a live human, and turn on him. And a kerfuffle ensues, I guess. Everybody wants to eat him. Yeah. But our to eat him. Yeah. But our vampires get him out before they...
Starting point is 00:21:49 Somebody at some point it's like you don't bring him this... You don't bring a human into a den of vampire's nests? What does that mean? What is happening? And then Stu kills Pauline's boyfriend, right? Yeah. Yeah, I like that. Yeah, I like that. Oh, we hardly knew you ugly, lumpy vampire guy. Listen, do you smell that?
Starting point is 00:22:12 That's where they're running away and they smell vampires. Listen, do you smell that? They're were werewolves. You're right, yeah, yeah. The were werewolves are so browy. They look like a rugby team. The head werewolf was on an episode of X-Files. Really? Yeah, on the rebooted X-Files. Oh, I didn't finish those yet.
Starting point is 00:22:36 Oh, okay. I'm prime. I will eventually. He's on the one where he's like the, that cameo non Gianni is on. Oh, he's the shapeshifting. Oh yeah, okay. Cool. Yeah. Not the one that lynch from Operation Ivy is on, which is the one that made me stop watching the show. I don't think I've gotten to that one. So the were the were wolves transform and it's great because they keep them almost completely off camera. Yes. Yeah. It's like I'm sure. I'm sure. The. The. The. The. The. The. The. The. The. The. The. The. The. The. The. The. The. T. The. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. the the the the the the the the the w. the w. the where. the where. the where. the were. W. W. W. the were. the were. the were. W. the. W. W. W. W. the. it kept the budget down. I'm sure. And they attacked Steele and I guess presumably kill him. Yeah. And we're very sad. This is the nicest. And this is where Deacon gives that speech to Nick about this is what this is. You're going to lose all your friends and all your family. Everyone you love will die. Cool. Cool comedy guys. Cool. cool, cool comedy guys. What he's telling you how everyone's going to die and they're like,
Starting point is 00:23:29 they'll make the simple mistake of fashioning a mask out of crackers and be attacked by ducks or geese or swans. What does that mean? The simple mistake? What is that mean? A lot of this is just nonsense. Yeah, for sure. It's a much more charming version of nonsense than last weeks. Yeah, a very different brand of nonsense than Santa Sangre. So Vlad's back to torturing again. Stu's death has really fucked everybody up.
Starting point is 00:23:59 Everyone's all sad. And then Stu comes back as a werewolf. Yeah, just got some boo boo boo-boos on his face. Booboos. And they let Nick come back into the house. And then they make friends with all the werewolves. Yeah. It's a, it's a, it's a tale of, it's like a Romeo and Juliet's a little tale, except, it's not at all. It's more, um, the outsiders. It's more the um, the outsider, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, the th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th, th, th. th, th, th, th, th. th. th, th. th, th. th, th. th, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thee. thi. thi. thi. the. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th it's not that either. No. No. The West Side Story? Manana. Manana.
Starting point is 00:24:30 Sure, we'll go with that. Yeah, music man. Cat on a hot tin roof. Oh, I like it. I don't know any of these. Yeah, I've seen all of them. Really? I'm old.
Starting point is 00:24:44 On TV. Back when the TV went off the air at the end of the night. We had three channels and you had to watch the music man. So I love the... so Stu's a werewolf now and in the documentary they do a reenactment of him becoming a werewolf. Right, yeah. With all the werewolves and Stoo playing himself. Yeah. In like black and white shot in like dramatic foot like
Starting point is 00:25:06 unsolved mystery style footage. Yeah. They show him the next morning in the reenactment and all the were wolves are just standing around him stark raving naked just like hey do you need a pair of pants. Yeah. Viago turns Catherine his lover that he'd been standing outside of her window staring at her. She's old now. She's 92 she's great. 94 or whatever. What it that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's the they. That's lover that he'd been standing outside of her window staring at her. She's old now. She's 92. She's great. 94 or whatever.
Starting point is 00:25:28 That's a tough age to live at forever. It's true. Your hips are just going to hurt all the time, you know. But she seems to be enjoying it. I liked the really stupid thing of like, you know, people are going to say that this this, this, this, tha, tha, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th, th, thi, thi, thi, th, th, th, thi, thi, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, thi, th.... that's that's thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, that's that's that's that's thi. that's that's that's thi's thi's thi's thi. that's a that's a that's that's that's thi. that's that's this is a weird relationship, they can call me a cradle robber if they want. Right, the age difference between us is just... What's this young 94-year-old doing with a 370-year-old man? That's cute. It's cute.
Starting point is 00:25:54 Katie, yeah. There were post-credit sequences. Did you stick around for them? I saw Jackie talking to her husband. Is that part of it? Okay, I saw that. I think that's where I turn it off. After everything is done, Deacon comes on the screen and says,
Starting point is 00:26:14 he hypnotizes the audience to forget the movie that they just saw. Did it work? No, we just recapped it. You had notes so I didn't know. I also have zero notes for this movie. Ah, this is the zero notes week. Yeah, I just wasn't, my thumbs were broken. Couldn't type.
Starting point is 00:26:31 Could not type, and couldn't do talk to text, so. Have you ever done that for a note? Oh, yeah. Oh, really? Yeah. Sometimes if I don't feel like like like like like like like like like like like th like th like th like th like th like th like th like I th like I th like th like th like th like thi th the button and say, well, that's stupid. New paragraph, and then it makes a new paragraph for my next note. I love that. And then it like fucks up everything I say and then I realize how bad my Pittsburgh accent is, because I'll say, Anita, and it'll say Anita, like the woman's name, and I get very embarrassed. Katie. Alan. Do you want to rate this? That was perfect.
Starting point is 00:27:05 Thank you. He did such a better job than I did at the top of the show. Oh, no, please. I don't really have a where, I don't have a vampire voice. Have you practiced? Try saying, bascetti. Baskettie. It see, it just sounds Italian when I say. Uh, a pasta marinara. No, no.
Starting point is 00:27:25 Spizy meat of all. Trent, Slovenia. Trensylvania. You hit the exit, the exit is to come later in the word. You're hitting right at the, Trinsulvania. Okay, you do it again. Trensylvania. Okay, go perfect.
Starting point is 00:27:39 Okay, that's better. Oh, that's the count. Oh, that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's the the the the the the the the the the the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. t's just the count. Did I ever tell you my story about getting into a scuffle with a woman because I was counting things like the count? Will you still be the Sabbath within the last year? No, it was in college. I was visiting another college, Indiana University of Pennsylvania. IUP. And I, my friend and I were counting things like the count. Like one, two, two beer punk balls.
Starting point is 00:28:09 Ah, uh, uh, and I guess that was really annoying this woman, so she shoved us and threw beer on us. And then we got kicked out of the party. Wow, she went from zero to 16. Well, I think she may have warned us to shut up and we were like, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, and I th, and I th, and I th, and I th, and I thus, and I thi, and I'm, and I'm, and I'm, and I'm thi, and I'm to, and I, and I, and I, and I was, and I was, and I was, and I was, and I was, and I was, and, and, and, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th... thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, to thi, to to to to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, to 60? Well, I think she may have warned us to shut up, and we were like, not gonna do that. Because she was doing a wicked Big Bird and she really thought you were honing it on her. I mean, we were just copying her steves, is that I think people still do?
Starting point is 00:28:34 Sure, sure. Yeah. Um, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I this movie. You go, I guess this is my turn to go for a song. It's a your turn, ah?
Starting point is 00:28:49 Then you turn into Mario. You throw a ur in there, it's a your turn. It's a yor. Are there Italian vampires? There have to be. Sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. This movie is really fun. It's short, it's sweet, it's likeable, it's funny.
Starting point is 00:29:11 My only real complaint about it is that there isn't enough action. Like, nothing happens for most of the movie. We're just watching them live their lives, which is funny, but not... I mean, it's a movie, you know what I'm saying? Yeah. So I'm saying? Yeah. So I'm going to give it an eight, an eight, eight points for this movie. I like the dance that goes along with that. Yeah, side to side.
Starting point is 00:29:38 They are making a TV show in this world. Oh, really? Like about the Wellington police having to deal with these monsters living all over the place. That's cool. Originally they were talking about doing a Swearwolve, or Werewolves, not Swearowelow too. But that doesn't seem like one or the other.
Starting point is 00:29:53 You can't have both. I know. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And then I watched it again, I was like, oh, I fucking love this. It's funny. It's a lot funnier the second time, and I don't know why. And I just did it a third time and still fucking loved it. Did you like it more between two and three, or did two and three have about the same level?
Starting point is 00:30:12 Two and three, I think we've flatted. Yeah, I've reached maximum. I throwne. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. than. than. than. thaned. thoed. thoed. thaned. thoed. thoed thoed tho' tho' thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. ti. toooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooe. And I watched it for the second time. This movie is, I'm gonna give this movie a fucking nine. And can you say that in a werewolf voice? No, where were wolf voice? Owl? That's what I meant. That's what I wanted it to be. We're so were werewolf-centric here that's saying vampire is just odd to us. I only think about myself. I'm going think think think to think think to to think think think think thin thin thin thin thin thin thin thin thin thin thi thin' thin' a thin' a thin' a thin' a thi thi thi thi thi thi thi' thi' tho-in' in a tho-a' th, in a tho-a' tho-a' tho-a tho-a tho-a thin' in a thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi. thi. thoooooooo' tho' tho' tho'n'n'n'n'n'n'n'n' the tho'n' tho' thoo' thooo' fucking nine. It's hard to say fucking in a vampire voice. Fucking. I'm covered in this fucking blood.
Starting point is 00:30:50 Ah! Hey, I'm a walk in here. I'm a Christopher walk in here. It's better. Yeah, this movie is hell of fun if you enjoy silliness in your horror-related content. And I think you do. You, the royal you.
Starting point is 00:31:09 Who's listening to this probably? Yeah. Yeah. I think we've weeded out the, I take this very serious. I think if they're, if they are still here, they must be so frustrated. These ding dongs don't know ding dong about ding thong. honestly and I'm never gonna learn. We're doing a live show. October 5th. Presumably tickets are still available? We'll see.
Starting point is 00:31:30 May not be at this point. We will let you know if they stop being available. I don't even know what date this one's coming out. It's two weeks from one day, so... The 24th, maybe? Yeah, whatever. So the show's coming up soon. The 24th, maybe? Yeah. Yeah. Whatever.
Starting point is 00:31:46 So the show's coming up soon. Yeah, this week. Nope. Nope. Nope. Yeah, we're doing Terrorvision. Do we mention that on the podcast? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:31:54 Maybe. I haven't even watched it yet. Is it good? I love it. I was just, uh, friends of the podcast, Jamie, sold me a copy of the book, Destroy All Movies, which is an encyclopedia of the appearances of movie punks in movies. Oh my god, that's like your Bible. I know, I've been lurking for it for years
Starting point is 00:32:12 and I couldn't find it under $130. Wow. So I got it cheaper and I was very excited. That's really nice. Yeah, thank you. I don't know why I'm thinking you I'm thing you I'm thing you I'm thing thin thin thin thin thin thin thin thin, I'm thin, I'm thin, I'm thin, I'm thin, I'm thin, I'm thin, thin, thin, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. Yeah,'t get anything. You're gonna get my ridiculous knowledge of it. But they have like a three page write up on terra vision in this book that everything else is getting like a paragraph blurb. Because there are so many movie punks? Because it's so absurd. Okay.
Starting point is 00:32:34 And they compare, they say it's like on par with Peewee inside of you is dead kind of like fun movie. Oh, great. You know that I think that Peebys Big Adventure is a perfect film. Yeah. Yeah, Because you know why? Because it is What if we don't show? It's really fun to talk at this voice, huh? Zero refunds. Ah, ah, ah, uh, uh. Eventbride gives us the money. And then we give some to the glitterbox, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, that's how it's going to work. But we can keep the rest. Commerce. Capitalism. Money exchanging hands. For the exchange of goods and services in this case just goods. No services. And beautiful art. And beautiful art by our friend Justin Gray. Alan we've got t-shirts. And what else? We've got kuzis and they are hilarious and amazing and I love
Starting point is 00:33:40 them. Yeah. Okay. If you would like to buy a shirt and a Coosie or a Coosy, you can buy any combination of shirt, shirt, and coozy, cuzzi, shirt and cuzzi, kuzzi, but not cuzzi, any of these things. The art is all on our social media. You can go look at it. So if you like them, you're gonna like them because they're real good. Yeah, because you like us. You like us and also you like things that are good. Here's how you do it. Okay. Send us an email, wear old family owns, at Gmail.com, let us know what you want to buy and your shirt size. Yeah, what size you need? You want a shirt and a coozy? Just a shirt. Just a shirt. You tell us what you want. We like it when it's possible. Basically whether we have that size or not. We will tell you, if that is possible, this could be a better way to do this. I don't know what it is. And then you will give you instructions to PayPal us for the goods and then we'll ship them out to you. Yeah, so it's $20 for a shirt, $5 for a cuzi. twenty-three dollars for a cus. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. It th. It th. Starting point is 00:34:46 It's just $2 less. And I found a whole bunch of buttons in my house. We're just gonna throw those willy-nilly into envelopes, if that's cool with you. Who knows what's gonna end up there? I don't know. I have. Oh yeah, you know how much like just cat hairs on my floors? Just tuck that right in there. Is that what you want? Do you know how many garbage bail kids I have?
Starting point is 00:35:07 Oh man, that's a great surprise. Yeah. We should, yeah. It would be like the golden ticket in Wil-Walk. I was gonna say we should run a promotion, but literally all we look cool though I've never looked cooler than just enjoying me scenes is Commonwealth Press printed them up for us wonderful and they they coached me through those cuisies because I had a lot of questions they were really wonderful and if you have the opportunity go to their website at cdw press dot com to see all of their cool designs and also if you have your own custom printing that you they're not the to their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. they're. they're. they're. their. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. their. they they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. giving us any money to say this. Starting point is 00:36:28 Bye. No, not bye. There's still more episode. Hello. Katie. Alan. Let's do a movie next week. What would you like to do?
