Werewolf Ambulance: A Horror Movie Comedy Podcast - Episode 204- The Item (1999)

Episode Date: November 26, 2018

Boy oh boy. In this week's post-holiday haze, we get festively tipsy and discuss one of the worst movies we've ever seen: the 1999 debacle "The Item." This was a listener suggestion from SkyrimRunner ...and we assume that they hate us. It's free on Youtube... if you dare. Special topics for your consideration include: things for which we are thankful, lots of discussion about 90s culture having nothing to do with this movie, covering topics we have most definitely covered before, pulling no punches about the quality of "The Item" and answering the question on everyone's mind: what's up with Xzibit?? Do you like truly garbage films? The only comparable one I can think of is Episode 156- "Gingerdead Man" so instead, listen to some of our more eccentric films: Episode 25- "The Pit," Episode 35- "Neon Maniacs," Episode 84- "Demons" or Episode 120- "Psychomania."  And we've still got merch! Email us at werewolfambulance@gmail.com to order your tshirt or koozy (or both!) Werewolf Ambulance is a horror movie comedy podcast.

Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey Katie. Hey Alan. Uh, welcome over to the bunker. I'm just filling up the bathtub. Okay. And I'm listening to you the Back Street Boys Millennium. Okay, great album. And I am, uh, just, you know, I mean, you can say your,
Starting point is 00:00:26 your memorial thoughts to JFK. I have a little memorial over here. To JFK. J.F.J. Jr. Okay. I was very confused at the timeline. Well, it's, it's, it's, it's 1999. It is. I'm getting ready for Y2K. Obs. The planes are going to fall from the sky, dude. It's crazy. It's gonna be nuts. It's gonna be nuts. Where were you a Y2K? Um, I would have been in Delaware then. I don't know. You don't know where you were? It's like the 9-11 of our generation.
Starting point is 00:00:57 No, 9-11 is the 9-11 of our generation. Wasn't that Columbine that was the 9-11 of our generation also happened in 1999? Yeah, 99 was a hard year. What, Jodomaggio died? Oh, God, I didn't know that. That's Babe Ruth, right? Mm-hmm. That's Babe Ruth was his nickname. Because he had a baby face.
Starting point is 00:01:16 That's what it was. And he tasted like a candy bar. Yeah, so I'm glad that that's the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that's. that's, that's, that's, I's, I's, I's, I'm. that's, I didn't. that, I didn't. that's, I didn't. that's, I didn't. that's, I didn't. that's, I didn't. that's, I didn't. that's, I that's, I that's, I that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that's th. that that that to to to th to to to to to to to th to to to to to to to to toed. toed. that's that's that'sthe last thing that I saw was a movie that came out in 1999. Can't Hardly Wait. No, that's 98. Sorry, I blew it. Before we... I watched Cale Hardly Wait again. Bue the joke and then explained that I blew it because people would know.
Starting point is 00:01:38 And get angry. I heard a collective, oh hell no. Bitch! That movie came out in 98! Speaking of jokes. Tell me one. Do you remember in the last episode? Because I sure shit didn't until I was reminded of it, even though I did the episode and then edited the episode.
Starting point is 00:01:55 Right. At some point, we were doing a riff about something, and I said, I read against the machine ghost. Yeah, that was great. Starting point is 00:02:11 And it says, fuck you. I won't boo what you tell me. He's dressed in the evil empire like superhero costume. And it's amazing. It's on a post-It. It's post. It's post. I, I just don't know, like, did you put this on our instant, Insta? I have not yet. I wanted to show it to you first. Yeah, thanks. And then on facing book, we got sent this by a friend of that embroidery, cross stitch? What is she doing? It's beautiful. It's a ghost flipping the birds and it says, fuck you, I won't be when you tell me.
Starting point is 00:02:50 Oh my god, you guys are amazing. I love you guys. We're really lucky. You know, I love all of you except who ever recommended this movie. Can I just exclude him from the to thi. my love. I'm going after Skyroom Runner. Going after Skyroom Runner, coming for you. Listen, quick preface to this episode. This is a special edition of Whirlf Ambulance because Thanksgiving got in the middle of our recording and it's Friday night.
Starting point is 00:03:17 And I brought over nine and now eight beers because I gave one away. And we're gonna drink them and so I'm probably going to get pretty drunk, which the means that also next week episode I'll to to to to to this to this to pre pre pre pre pre pre pre pre pre pre pre to to to to to to to to to this episode, to this episode, this episode, this episode, to this episode, this episode, this episode, this episode, this episode, this episode, this episode, this episode, this episode, this this episode, this this this episode, this this this episode, this this episode, this this episode this episode this episode this episode this episode this episode this episode this episode, th, their to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to to to to to their their their the we're gonna drink them. And so I'm probably gonna get pretty drunk, which means that also next week's episode, I will be even drunker in because we're doing two at once. So like, this is gonna be a little no-holds barred, I think. I'm not pulling any punches tonight. Just right out of the game. I've like, it's, my family is wonderful.
Starting point is 00:03:45 But you still want to hang yourself. So... Sometimes you drive six and a half hours there and then the next day six and a half hours back. Because you can't be bothered to spend any more time with them than that. It's true. That's what I realize I'm the monster. Oh, yeah. One hundo. Happy holidays. We're drinking a Christmas ale. Yeah. So then. Kenny, what are you thankful for? Never having to watch this movie again. Actually, can I be honest? Yeah. I didn't watch this whole movie. I couldn't. I couldn't. I couldn't. I thought about stopping. Why didn't you? Why didn't you? Look, we? Oh, I like had a moment where I was like I really can't watch this anymore. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to to th. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to. to. to. to. to. Look, we, oh, I like, had a moment where I was like, I really can't watch this anymore.
Starting point is 00:04:29 And then I was like, you're doing the podcast, you have to. And then I was like, no, fuck that, I don't have to. Oh my god. I also had to have been watching it in like 15 minute increments over a period because because because because because because because because because because because because because because because because because because because because because because because because because because I I I I I I I, because because I, because I, because I, because I, because I, because I, because I was I was I was I was I was I was I was I was like, just do 15 more minutes, just do 15 more minutes. It was like studying for something or like light exercise. I had to like hype myself into doing it and give myself an end time. It's, I just, God help me. What do you thankful for? Uh,
Starting point is 00:04:54 Uh, you know, I'm thankful that people would reach out and offer movie stuff to us because they hate us? Yeah, I mean, it's cruel. I th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th to us because they hate us? Yeah, I mean, it's cruel. I think I get it. Oh, do you? Give the funny people shit and let them make funny with it. I mean, okay. They give us the raw ingredients for funny times.
Starting point is 00:05:18 Yeah, but there's other ones, you know? But there's a point where bad is just too much. Is this intentionally bad? You know how things are intentionally bad now? Or at some point, you know? Yeah, now in 1999. Like, there's certainly cheeky jokes, right? We're doing a movie called The Item.
Starting point is 00:05:36 Yeah, yeah, yeah. But by people you've never heard of, thrown, they people you've never heard of. When I saw that it was directed by a man named Dan Clark, I wondered if it was Nitro from American Gladiators, also known as Dan Clark. Why do you know Nitro's world name? Because I have his autobiography. It's Nom de Nitro. Royds, rage and redemption, a gladiator story. It's not good. But he describes having sex with a woman who has grown a penis from taking too many steroids. That was kind of interesting. Yeah. Mm-hmm. That passage was worth it.
Starting point is 00:06:09 Is that a thing that can happen? Yeah, your clit will get real big. Okay. Yeah. There's a sex tape with China. And I think the one-two-three kid, where she has a little dick. I thr- I said't think so. No, he's married to Stephanie McMahon. I got all this kids and shit. Okay. Wrestling. I mean what else are we going to talk about this week? So there's two reviews for this film on Rotten Tomatoes. Okay. Giving it an aggregate score
Starting point is 00:06:37 of 40 percent. 40! I guess two. It's a small sample. I feel cheated after sitting through the 90 minutes is one of th okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. th. th. th. th. the. th. th. they. th. th. th. th. th. the th. th. they. th. th. th. they. th. th. the th. th. th. th. th. the th. I's the the the the the the the the th. I's the the the the th. I's the th. I's th. I's th. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's th. I's th. th. I's th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I's th. I guess two. It's a small, it's a simple lias. Yeah. It's a small sample. I feel cheated after sitting through the 90 minutes is one of them. Um, cheated is not the word that I would use to describe my feelings, but okay. Still gave them two out of five. It's disgusting. Like, what would you have to do to get a one? The other one just talks about it being a, uh, like movie. It gave a C rating. It is certainly not pretentious. It's not a C either. This movie, like, there are a lot of things I don't get.
Starting point is 00:07:18 Okay. I don't get what Fortnite is. You know? The video game? Yeah. I don't get why every book is a New York Times bestseller? You know what I mean? Because New York Times bestseller is the like book equivalent of our rating system? Yeah. Just whatever.
Starting point is 00:07:35 Just whatever. Best seller, I mean, whatever. I don't get what I don't get at what point of my life I stopped sneaking out to go to parties to go home. You just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just. You to to to to to to just. You. You. You just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just. You know what I to to to just just life I stop sneaking out to go to parties and now sneak out of parties to go home. You know what I mean? I don't get a lot of things. I don't get this fucking movie. Oh, I got one, I got one.
Starting point is 00:07:48 Oh, tell me. I don't get why I'm still, I'm a dirty boy? Go away, Mambles. It does nothing to do with cleanliness. It really doesn't. I know a B-O-R-A strip all the time. Do you? Get that poor perfect. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:11 Yeah. Yeah. for a B-or-A. I would love to be sponsored. B-O-A, if you're out there, we're listening. NM shit's expensive. Yeah. I get like five strips for like seven bucks or something. Everything's expensive, though, because this is the world we live in. I don't get why everything's so expensive. I don't get it. I don't get this movie. Yes, I think it's supposed to be a comedy.
Starting point is 00:08:45 There are jokes in it. Like, people say quippy things. They're like, mm-mm. There are moments that are intended to be funny. They're clearly intended to be funny. Is the movie a joke, though? Did they make it as a joke? Like, is it?
Starting point is 00:09:00 No, I think it is a serious film. It's sincerely a movie. Because because because because because because because because because because because because because because because? Because because? Because because? Because the the movie? I think it is a serious film. It's sincerely a movie. Because all these people are actors. No, they are not, and I will not have you tell me that they are. Some of them are on NCIS. I mean, everyone, I could be on goddamn NCIS. They've got to get a lot of people on there. This girl I went to high school with was on an episode of The Wire. Nice. You might have seen them.
Starting point is 00:09:25 No, I haven't seen any of them. Did you know that the average price for a dozen eggs in 1999 was 89 cents? Oh, that's cheap as F? Yeah, for my cage freeze, I'm paying like four bucks now. Yeah, it's expensive. You gotta care about the animals though, man. I know, if you just go to Alda, you can get them cheaper, but they're probably shitting on each other. Picking each other's eyes out. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:09:50 I thought we were going to have a fun time. Suddenly we're talking about animals picking each other's eyes out. Well, how about the average cost of a gallon of was cheaper than that for sure because in 99 I was 15, so I would not have driven a car for at least another year and a half. And I remember like it being under a dollar a gallon. Yeah. Do you remember pulling change out of your car to put gas in your car? And it would like get you pretty far.
Starting point is 00:10:16 Yeah, I remember like five dollars practically filling up my 1990 caval with a speed shifter. Oh,'s a nice car. My brother, it had been my brother's car before he joined the military and he had built a bong that went over the emergency break and you could just hold it to your face while you were driving. I know it's not great. Was your brother in this movie? Yeah, I feel like it could have happened in this movie. Yeah, definitely. Okay, so here's how much of the movie I watch. Okay, I had to about an hour. So you saw Dr. Odie. Is that the shitty Ziggi Stardust? Yes. Yeah, okay. I did see him. He's like, he's pretty early on. If I hadn't made it to him, I hadn't made it very far. So this, this movie is basically like wacky art school Quentin Tarantino like meets like look at all the funny things I can do like
Starting point is 00:11:12 with my film school tricks. So this is a student film I don't think so I think it's a legit film it was like entered into film festivals. I don't think that that makes any sense. I just haven't known this is something about a monkey and $300,000. I mean it is yeah like they're they're getting this crate from Dr. Odie, they're buying it from him and they're selling it to someone else but they don't know who they're selling it to they don't know who they're selling it to they don't know who sent it. It's just I don't. I don't I don't I don't th I don't th I don't th I don't know I don't know I don't th. No I don't know I don't know I don't know I don't know I don't know I don't know I don't know I don't know I don't know I don't know I don't I don't I don't I don't I don't I don't I don't they. Yeah I don't I don't I don't I don't I don't I don't I don't I they're just yeah. I I they're just yeah. I I I I they're just yeah. I I I I I I I I I I I I they're just I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I they're just I don't they. I don't they. I don't they. I don't know who. I don't know who. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. Yeah. I don't know. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know. Yeah. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. No, no, yeah, yeah, yeah. We never meet the seller, we never like. It's not a difficult set up to make work.
Starting point is 00:11:50 Right. You're going to pick something up and give it to someone else, but you have to hold it for 24 hours. That's not hard. Don't complicate it. There's these long dialogue scenes. And like, that are immediately gone, like Nicky the Nurse, Dr. Odie is- I don't think, oh, Nicky the nurse.
Starting point is 00:12:08 She's driving the car. She's the one who gets shot 400 times because this movie's not real sure how guns were. Yeah, Dr. Odie, one bullet and done. Done. And then later, I mean, every gun, this movie should be called Limitless bullets, the film, the film, the film, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, th.. Well that is that like sort of like John Wu, Tarantino, like of the day. Fine, fine.
Starting point is 00:12:26 Fine. Defend it then. Defend it if you love it so much. Why don't you marry this movie? It's so fucking great. Listen, I'm living in 1999 currently. I'm worried about the planes. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:36 Yeah. So I was reading of Y2K, like, people were sent the wrong information about their, like diagnosing their children with diseases that they didn't have or did have and didn't diagnose them. Why do you? I don't actually don't explain to me, I don't care. And like, uh, the radiation alarm started going off at the, like, uh, the radiation. Yeah, I'm not on the internet. their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their th. th th th th th thi. Yeah, th th thi. Yeah, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, th. that, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. the. the. thi. the. they the. they the. that that that that that that at the time? No, we were all just like, who was nothing.
Starting point is 00:13:06 I'm not on the internet, who cares? My friend Christina either went to, or is thinking of starting, or both, a Y2K museum, where she's gonna collect Y2K merchandise and put it on display. Or maybe she went to one. I don't remember now. I could see if th th th th th that they filled with water. Wow, did they? Yeah, they were ready. My family was just ready to die, which is fine.
Starting point is 00:13:28 They've pretty much lived that way for 35 years. I'm thin' the dark to-night. Oh, God. Okay. I have lots of notes that say what are these ding donongs talking about? Okay, so this movie wants you to believe that these people are like criminal masterminds. They're the dumbest motherfuckers I've ever seen. Also, this movie presupposes that I will have any interest in their feelings. Does it?
Starting point is 00:13:58 There's so many sad scenes where they're like, this is a scene about your kids not loving you. This is a scene about it's hard to be fat. They they. They they. They. They. They. They. They. They. They th. They th. They th. They th. They's th. They's th. They're th. They're th. They're th. like, this is a scene about brain cancer. This is a scene about your kids not loving you. This is a scene about, it's hard to be fat. And I'm like, I don't, I wish you would all just explode. That all might have happened after I made the note. I'm real checked out right now. Yeah, it's hard. It's hard to watch. It's really hard to watch. It's like there would be like these gl gl gl gl gl gl gl the the gl gl gl the the gl gl gl gl they. T they. T they. T they. It's th. It's th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I th. th. th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. th. th. th. I th. watch. It's like there would be like these glimmers of like, okay, all right, maybe I can get, I've watched, I have watched, I've watched fucking mausoleum. I've watched bad fucking movies.
Starting point is 00:14:32 Mazoleum is amazing compared to this. But it is not a well articulated film. Mazzoleum is a shitty movie that is completely unwatchable. I literally didn't watch it. I watched the first hour. Maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I've, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, thi, thi completely unwatchable. I literally didn't watch it. I watched the first hour and then I turned it off. And then I googled it and I read the thing about the sex scene. I read about it. And so I googled, I was like, I should probably watch that if that's like the thing
Starting point is 00:14:57 that came out of the movie, like I it popped up right away there's a web page of the video and I clicked on it and I was watching like 30 seconds into the scene and I realized there was just an ad banner above it of it of a woman just getting a load blown on her face. It was like a porn site and I was like what have I done? So then I just went back and watched it on YouTube but I wish I hadn't. I wish I hadn't. I wish I had. I feel like, jerk, turk, load blows. It was a gift just repeating that over and over. And I was like, how long have I been watching this? Yeah. Yeah. Happy holidays. I was recently, it was on an episode of Marble and Marble's Marbles. We were talking about this real.
Starting point is 00:15:42 I was 95. He lived a life. He did amazing things. He should be, he lived an amazing life. Seems like he was a good, good guy everybody liked. Good guy, like changed media as we know it. Yeah. Beautiful. Godrests. Yeah, they-no' tree. one of those gone too soon situations. 95 is a very full life. Also, I've never seen a Marvel movie. I don't know what we're talking about.
Starting point is 00:16:05 But you know that Spider- I just knew in Mallrats. You know that Spider-Man exist. And Spider-Man changed the game. Did he? Did he? Okay. So, um, but we were talking about his special powers and I was like there's no way this guy hasn't used these powers to nut and I was just
Starting point is 00:16:27 like did I just say nut? What just happened? It's not you. That's not who you are. No I feel like I broke for a little while. That's very broly of you. Lauren Alex Martin and the very unfortunately named Fattie. Okay he's name was Fatty. Lauren His name was Fattie. Lauren, I refer to only as BRD in my notes, which is Bunko Rosa Diaz. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. She was, I would say, the most charismatic all of all the actors. I don't hear her get a lot of lines, to be honest. I don't know. She picked up some later. Yes. The movie The movie mov to the movie the movie the movie the movie the movie the movie the movie movie more about her by the end of it. Cool. She's not Alex who is reprehensible and difficult to watch.
Starting point is 00:17:11 He's the lead singer of Everclear, right? Dada, da da da da da. Which reminds me, Katie. This is where we drop in Santa Monica? I'm always down for dropping that in because I love that song. It's a very catchy song. Also I saw Everclear a couple years ago at stage A.E. They played with Eve Six. Who does the song about? Wait, is Eve Sixth Sex and Candy? No, that's Marcy Playground. How dare I?
Starting point is 00:17:43 I would all on my pride. I would choke on the road. Beautiful oblivion. That's the one. He looks exactly the same. And that, who's that? I think they were Irish or Scottish. They had the song about, um, we love the all, the all of you. We, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, the, we, we, we, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, know that. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Hedges likes them from the exorcist step.
Starting point is 00:18:08 Hedges, Colin, who is that? We went to see it with him. We got there late and I was like, Hedges, they're playing the song. We're missing the song. Anyway. Oh, and soul asylum, they were there too. They were great. They were fucking fantastic, that's all. What did you want to tell me about it for clear?
Starting point is 00:18:28 I'm sorry. So Soul Asylum, they played the hit. And then what else did they play? They played, oh my god, I'm kind of drunk and I can't think of the song. I like the real grzing the grandfather clock. What is that song called? Somebody to shove, yeah. That's the trick song because you're like, oh, this album's gonna fucking rip and then you get it.
Starting point is 00:18:51 I swear to God we've had this conversation before. And it's all sucky. It's all slow jams. Yeah, it is pretty slow. Chelsea Clinton had them attic tonight. What is it you want to say? July 24th, 1999, Saturday. The West Stage of Woodstock 99.
Starting point is 00:19:15 Oh, Woodstock 99. I forgot it existed. It's reprehensible. So many bad things happened there. Really? There was like a slew of rapes that happened. I'm sure I didn't. I didn't know. And no one, they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they were they were they were they were they were they were they were they were they were they were they were they were they were they were, they were, they were, they were, they were like, they were like, they were like, they were, they were, they were, who, who, who. they were, they were, they were, they were, they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. the, the, the, the, the, the, the, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. they. they. they. they. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. th. the. th. th. th. the. there. Really? There was like a slew of rapes that had. It was like super gross like and no one they were like boo boo boo boo and like it was a different time. I'm not defending it I'm saying that like
Starting point is 00:19:31 oh yeah yeah. Nothing's are better now I don't know I just want to believe things are whatever. You bring that many corn limp biscuit and everlasts into one room together like. He died. He died. Who? Everlast? No way. No that. No that. No that. No that. You know what I mean? West stage July 24th 1999 listen to this lineup okay Spitfire don't know who that I had no idea. Guster? I love Guster are you today? Never heard of my life. Starting point is 00:20:29 Guster, isn't it? And I was like, yeah it is. And then Guster must have been searching for themselves or have an alert set up. And they just sent me like a gift of they covered Buster Rhyme's. No, but I feel like that's a thing they would like. They're very, um, Vermont or whatever. Guster. I love Guster. Bruce Hornsby. I don't care for Bruce Hornsby.
Starting point is 00:20:50 This is a weird matchup, right? Followed by Everclear. Daunna, done, da, da. Followed by Los Lobos. What? Followed by Mickey Heart Planet Drum. Oh, one of the drummers from the Grateful Dad? Oh, oh. Followed by the Chemical Brothers. What?
Starting point is 00:21:12 What? What? I love this? What's Doc 99? Yeah. Literally sounds like hell on earth. I don't know, man. That sounds pretty good to me.
Starting point is 00:21:23 the to to me. There's a lot of bands I would like to see, well, two or three. Can I give you a lineup at the East Stage and then we'll get talking about this movie? I have nothing to say about the movie. Tell me about the East Stage. Tragically hip, Canadian Zone. Cadea followed by Kiddington, Rockin' the too'n, Kid, Kid, Kid, Kid, Kid, Kid, Kid, Kid, Kid, Kid, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, that, that, that, th, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, they. they. the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the ta, ta, ta, ta., ta., ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta, the the ta, the the the Refugee All-Stars. I liked that. There was, oh, I guess it came out like two years later, but there was a real good record that Wycliffe put out that I really liked. Okay, yeah, well, with that gone to November song and all that?
Starting point is 00:21:51 That was earlier. Okay, all right, all right. But I like that song. Followed that song, the, the, the, the, th, th, th, th, t, t, t, t, t, t, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, I to, I to, I to, I to, I to, I t, I t, I t, I t, I t, I t, I t, I t, t, t, t, t, t, t, to, to, to. to, to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. togu. togu. to-s. to-s. to-s. togu. to-s. to-s. love you. And you're welcome. Followed by formerly tortured by the fans of Dave Matthews band. Oh, they're so mean. Followed by Aletus Morissette. Love Alanis. It's Canadian's own. This one's gonna get you.
Starting point is 00:22:16 Get me. You got a Lettus Morissette. You're feeling, you're feeling, you're feeling, you're feeling, you're feeling, you're feeling, you're feeling, you're feeling, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, the, th, th. th, th, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th, th, th, th, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th, th. th, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. theea. thea. thi. thi. thoooooooooooooooooo. the. th. there. Every song on Jagged Little Pill is a hit, by the way. You want to know. That's on that album. Follow by Limp Biscuit. Did you see the thing recently where Shaggy Two Dope Kicks and Frist in the back? Listen, I think we talked about this like two weeks ago on this podcast. Follow by Rage against the machine. Okay. Who like begat Limp Biscuit. That's unfair. Without
Starting point is 00:22:46 rage you don't have Limpiscuit. I'm convinced. One's good and one's bad. I know. Okay. Followed by Metallica. 99 Metallica. That's a rough fucking ordeal. That's like a lot of dental work. That's just a lot of like, oh, God, what's happening to me? Yeah. Yeah. Oh man. Alablusa 99, fucking nightmare. I went to Lollapalooza 2004, I think. OK. It was OK. Who was the main? Who were the big acts on that one?
Starting point is 00:23:14 What was that band that the jeans that Perry Farrell did after? Sure. Pointe that, after that. I'm done. He was in. Maybe it was just Jane's addiction. Maybe it was just him and a bunch of other dudes. And then the Chris Cornell other band, Audio Serpent. Audio Slip? Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:23:33 Or Audio Serpent. Jurassic 5 was there. They were pretty good, yeah. But they were early in the day. I mean, I was fine. Okay. Yeah. I think I went exactly 10 years before you to a whole whole. Yeah, it sounds about right. Well, they're on it. We're on a 10 year cycle here. Exactly. Exactly. So no fish bone at yours. They were amazing. Fish bone and arrested development were my two takeaways for that.
Starting point is 00:24:02 Wow. Yeah. Well we just killed about 10 minutes of this episode on that. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the the. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the. the. Yeah. Yeah. the. the. the. Yeah. Yeah. the. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the. the. Yeah. the. Yeah. Yeah. the. Yeah. the. the. Yeah. the. the. the. the. I. Yeah. I. Yeah. Yeah. I. I. I. Yeah. I. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I. Yeah. Yeah. I. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I. Yeah. Yeah. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. aways for that. Wow, yeah. Well, we just killed about 10 minutes of this episode on that. Yeah, a mom-wiliz of talk. And just behind these bands and I think I sang quite a bit, which people probably hate. They're like sitting on the bus going to work and they're like this bitch. Yeah, you know, I don't know. I'm an embarrassment. No th I'm th. I'm th. I'm an embarrassment. I'm th. I'm an embarrassment. I'm th. I'm th. I'm an embarrassment. I'm th. I'm th. I'm an embarrassment. I'm th. I'm th. I'm an embarrassment. I'm th. I'm an embarrassment. I'm th. I'm th. I'm thi. I'm an embarrassment. No way. So, the, our four antagonists, antagonists? I don't care of...
Starting point is 00:24:30 I don't care of... I'm an antagonists, yeah. Killed Dr. Odey, because he realizes, he doesn't realize he can't climb a tree and then he falls out of it and then you push him off the table. His pants are probably real slippery too. You know what I mean? He was like, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, slippy too. You know what I mean? He was like the coolest looking dude in the movie though. He was, I honestly thought the movie had promised when I saw Dr. Odie. I was like, oh, this man has a weird haircut and he's wearing like a solid colored Ziggy
Starting point is 00:24:54 Stardust outfit. You know, it's like, yeah. He's leaving here and going to do his techno DJ set. And I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I like I like I like I like I like I like I like I like like I like like he he he he he he he he he he he he. he. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. thi. the. the. the. the. the. the. thi. th. th him around. I liked that he, you have no idea who she is. Except that she pulls on a tiny little knife and runs through a thousand bullets. The tiny little knife was on a crucifix too, which I thought was rad. And I also thought it was kind of funny that they were like, they's got a knife, oh, it's a comedy movie. They're making the comedy jokes. I was like, this is bad, but I'm in. OK.
Starting point is 00:25:25 10 minutes later, I am out. They all have real weird accents, too. They do when they don't. Oh, they're going in and out. Yeah. The girlfriend, the art student, in her first scene, she says art student with this very pronounced accent. And the the the the the the the the the th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th. thathea, thathea, thathea, tho, tho, thoom thathea, that's that's thathea, th. th. tho, tho, tho, that's that's tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that's, that's, that's, that's that's that's that's that's that's that's the. that's that's that's that's that's all theea. that's all that's all thea. thea. that's all all all all then it's just gone the rest of the movie. Well, there's a, uh, Lauren at one point, like after they shoot Dr. Odie,
Starting point is 00:25:52 she's like, the car is covered in blood. Let me out of the car. They're like, is this little hat tip toll? Yeah, it's not gonna do a Nicole Kidman in Days of Thunder Hattip, don't make a movie. So they get this life shell, this box. Yeah, it's just got all these numbers like moving in non-sequential. Math? I don't know. Who fucking cares? And the code has just smashed the buttons a lot?
Starting point is 00:26:19 Yeah, and then you get in. They've been given like very specific instructions by Dr. Odie on how to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the to th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. their, thi. thi. thi. their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their. their. their. their. Yeah, their. Yeah, their. Yeah, their. Yeah, their. And, their. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, thi. And, thi. And, th. And, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. to take care of the thing if the alarm goes off? Yeah, which none of the pay attention to. Which like you'd think he would have written it down. Sure. It's a lot. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, they don't. They don't. They open the life shell.
Starting point is 00:26:38 And there's a has a dick dick. Yeah. Which it fucks that lady with later. I didn't like that. No, I really wish I hadn't watched it. No. No. I feel like the movie really took a turn at that point that I was like, I don't think I'm into you anymore. It was already over 90 minutes. They could have thrown. I feel like, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. they made the whole movie and then they were like, I don't know. It's like it needs something else. It's like, you know, like you decorate a room and you're like, that wall is a little bit bare. Yeah, what if we fucked a puppet over there? What if we fucked a puppet in like very graphic? I mean, I found it on a porn site. So what you're telling me is that a dude has definitely jacked up to jacked to jacked, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I've f f f facked, I've facked, I've facked, I've fuce, I've fucing, I've fu, I'm a that, I've f- I've f- I've f-a, I've f-a, I've f-a, I've that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, is a that, is a that, is a that, is a that, is a that, is a that, that, that, that's that's that's that's that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that wawa, that wau. that's a that war-a, that war-a, that war-a, that war-a, is a that war-a, is is that a dude has definitely jacked at to looking at that. Yeah, which is fucked. I mean, dudes objected to looking at everything.
Starting point is 00:27:28 I mean, jacked to whatever you wanted jacket to. I'm not judging you. Yeah. For this, I'm judging you for other things. It's just, why is it in this? This movie just, to this. I didn't watch them. That's where I really got good. It got into some deep-heady subjects. Really? Oh, oh, Katie.
Starting point is 00:27:47 It just turns so X all of a sudden, X-rated. And like, I don't want, I don't need that. But puppet X. But like, still really graphic. Oh yeah, yeah. starts just jumping ahead to that. There's nothing to talk about between now and then. I was just like what legit the fuck is going on right now. I felt so bad for the actress. I hope it was her idea. I cannot imagine that it was. It's got its eyes sewn shut. Or like the flaps over its eyes. I thought that's just how it looked until that scene. I mean who cares. Alex touches this thing it gets slime and then the the the the the the the the th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th and th fu th fu th fu th fu th fu th fu th fu thu thu thu- thu- thu-fuck the fucks the fucks the fucks the fucks the fucks the fucks the fucks the fucks the fucks the fucks the fucks the fucks the fucks. the fucks the fucks the fucks the fucks the fucks the fucks the fuck the fucks the fuck the fucks how it looked until that scene. I mean, who cares? Alex touches this thing.
Starting point is 00:28:27 It gets slime and then puts it in his mouth? Oh, really? Yeah. Why would he do that? I don't know. And then the party did show up. I like them. I did. I was like, can we just their movie?
Starting point is 00:28:39 Yeah. I feel like they're from the set of murder party. Like they had just rolled over from that murder party party at the end. And I wanted to be in their movie. What's that McCauley-Calkin movie about the? Party Monster? Yeah, I'd rather watch that. Yeah. That's a movie. This is not a movie.
Starting point is 00:28:55 As far as I know. the last note I have before I pretty much cut out was, it's like a shitty baby think it over, which is, do you know what baby think it over is? When I was in high school, we had to get baby think it overs, which is like a doll that cries at random intervals and you have to keep it for a couple days. And then if it cries, you have to put a key in its back to make it stop crying, and you have like there's a computer in it that records how long it takes you to respond to it and you've like pass or fail based on how quickly you respond to this baby's needs baby think it over cool name really cool name and that's basically what this thing is to these people in my day yeah in my day yeah you took up an egg oh we did that first that was to gear you up for the baby thin to th th th th th th th th I th I th I th I th I th I th I th I th I th I th I tho tho that tho that that tho tho that tho that that that that that that that that that that that tho thi tho. that to to to to to to to to that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that tho. that that that that tho. that tho. that tho. that tho. that thi th. that thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi theeee. theeee. they they're theeeeee. theeeeeeeeeeeeee. tho. tho. thi baby thinking over. After that experience, I can't believe I had a real-life baby.
Starting point is 00:29:45 Yeah, you thought it over. I guess I did. Oh, you forgot what you thought about. I think I forgot. Did you know that 1999 is the same year that Blair Witch came out? No, I didn't. Man, I'd rather watch that, huh? Don't worry, there's more 1999 facts littered throughout my nose. I'm so happy because 1999 is just such a great time for me. It's the year that Gene Siskel and George C. Scott died.
Starting point is 00:30:12 I was a little sad about them. Yeah, I like both those guys. Good guys. Um, Six Sense came out that you too. Great movie. Fucking good movie. This is a terrible movie, that's a good movie. I have a note that just says Lauren and Stash are talking about some bullshit because I didn't have subtitles on so I couldn't figure out the guy Martin, what his name was. Because it's... It's YouTube.
Starting point is 00:30:33 Okay, that's another problem I had of this movie is I understood less than a third of what they said. I really didn't. And the more you turned it up the worst, the worst, the worst, the worst, the worst, the worst, the worst, s were so fucking loud. So fucking loud. It just, it was. And also like, the problem with this movie, amongst many other things, is that it took a 12-minute idea and made it into 97 minutes. Right. For sure. This is a short. If this movie had been a short, it might have been good. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:58 You could condense this down to the first sex scene between Alex and Rita? Yes. When they're fucking in the tub? No, maybe. They're like... I might have just looked away. You know how I get. This one is not graphic at all. Okay. Also who would fuck that man? I'm sorry, even in 1999, who would fuck that man? Who would fuck the guy from Clear? Boom, Boon, no. Our Alex Acus? But they're fucking to the tub and there's a rubber ducky in the tub and then a vibrator just goes through the water. Well, I did see that.
Starting point is 00:31:32 I did see that. I remember that. All right. All right. I don't know. I mean, they might be now. They weren't then. The vibro tech was just not up to. Technology has changed a lot since 1989. You cannot deny that. It's true. It's true. You can't deny it. I'm a fucking rider. That's not come on in 1999.
Starting point is 00:31:56 Probably. You don't want to fuck with me. I'm looking it up. So the party kids show up and they decided they have to kill them for some reason. I don't fucking know why they had to kill them. Um, these were just nice people out for a nice party night. And they didn't see anything. No. I don't think. No. And because it's 1999.
Starting point is 00:32:15 There's like tons of... That was two. thousand. Who's the play? the tho. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. th. th. the. the. th. th. that. T. the. th. th. th. th. T. T. T. T. T. Yeah. Because I wanted to come out to that song but I forgot to tell you. So there's like there's a to' to'n'l tha-suke soe and stuff. Yeah, it was such a fucking bummer. Different time I understand, still a fucking bummer. They they. They they. They they. They they. They they. They. They. They they. They. They they. They they. They they. They they. They they. They they. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go. They go out they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they people but there's a chase scene. Are they on roller skates? I think they're on a dolly with the camera. Why though? Well I liked to this choice because you're like no. I did I was like oh this is kind of fun. So I figured out an analogy for this. Okay so I liked the thing where they were they were just like gliding and everyone's gliding and like looking around and I'm like this is kind of a. this. this. this. this. this. this. this. this. this. this. this. this. this. this is kind. this is kind of. this is kind of. this is kind of. this is kind of. this is kind of. this is kind. this is kind. this is kind. this is kind. this is kind. this is kind. this is kind. this is kind. I'm like, this is kind. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I's. I's. I's. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I'm like. I'm like. I'm like. I'm like. this is like. I'm like. this is like. this is like. this is like. this is like. this is like. this is like. I'm like. I'm like. I'm like. I'm. I'm. 10 minutes. For a very long time. So it's like, hey Katie, you like that piece of cake? Mm-hmm. You gotta get the rest of this cake.
Starting point is 00:33:07 Oh, like Matilda. And then I have a cup full of cake that you have to drink. Yeah. And then there's a cake bed that you have to go sleep. I'm gonna put a cake blanket on the a lot like exhibit pimping your ride. He's like, yo dog, I heard you like blue so I made everything in your car blue and everything's blue and everything's blue and it's playing the blues. You know what I mean? I heard you like TV so I put a TV it's on your TV.
Starting point is 00:33:32 Yeah, exactly. What happened to exhibit? Where is he? I don't know? He was a good MC he was a good, he's, he, he, he, great, he, he, he, great, great, he, great, he, he, great, he, he, he, great, great, great, th, th, th, th, th, th. th. th. th. th. th. to, to, to, to, to, to, th. th. th. to, to, to, th. to, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the. the. thi. thi. th. too. I saw him in movies that I really enjoyed. He was good at reacting to people fake reacting to what you just fucked up their car with. Yeah. Oh, I'm gonna Google what's exhibit doing now? Why don't I just ask Google?
Starting point is 00:33:51 Hold on a second? You know what's interesting is I said exhibit and it came up XI BIT? Sure. It knew.the same age as you. 24? He's still acting, I guess. I forgot he was in the X-Files movie in 08. He was pretty cool. Oh, ain't nobody saw that? I did.
Starting point is 00:34:17 I'm not in the theater. Fuck off. So they kill all but one of the party kids. So they kill all but one of the party kids. What happened? We tried to file for bankruptcy twice after Pimp My Ride was cancelled. In 2007 here and $497,000. In 2008 it was $67,000.
Starting point is 00:34:36 Oh. I thought you can live on $67,000 if you don't act like a chick, yeah. It stopped putting TVs on TV. And so late 2010 he owed more than 900,000 in delinquent federal taxes. That's a lot of money. So that's what exhibits doing now. Everything just keeps getting sad in this episode. So we've started a crowdfunding to help exhibit pay us.
Starting point is 00:34:58 If you just go on Spotify and listen to exhibit songs on repeat. He'll get like se. Just put th, just put them on repeat and walk away. They did that for Nelly when he also had back taxes. Also, I love Nelly. So whatever. Is that why you keep wearing that bandit on your cheek? Did you know that SpongeBob SquarePants came out in 1999? That shows fucked up.
Starting point is 00:35:18 It's like not for children. It's like threnimpy. And that guy's a real asshole too. Oh, is he? The Ren and Stimpy guy, yeah. I just found out about it. He was like grooming young girls. Yeah. I know. Of course he was.
Starting point is 00:35:32 Of course he was. Of course he was a new record. thrown. thoooo. Because that guy's also terrible. Oh my god. Apparently he has a new record now. Did you hear it about this? No. I just saw people talking about it on Twitter. I'm not going to listen to it. Because on Alex Jones all the time.
Starting point is 00:35:50 Oh my god. The fuck Billy Corgan? You were like the soundtrack to my seventh grade love. You know what I mean? and I had so many feelings about it. It's still a beautiful song and a great music video. What is your fucking problem? Honestly, go to hell. Which, it's funny because the soundtrack to my seventh grade not having any love was appetite for destruction by Guns and Roses. Nice. And Axel Rose is a human being.
Starting point is 00:36:16 He's recently becoming at Trump and like, what the fuck is wrong with you dog. You know what I love about Axel Rose. You look at his Twitter? No. OK. Let me tell you what I love about Axel Rose's Twitter, then. Anytime he says he has to say and, he uses the apostrophe N, he's sticking to the brand of Guns and Roses, and I fucking- He got the fucking tattoo. He's got to it. I am here for it. Speaking his seventh grade loves the seventh grade loves, the guy that I think of when I think about tonight, tonight, I recently googled him and apparently he still lives with his parents but had to stand
Starting point is 00:36:47 off where he was on the roof with a gun and the cops had to come and get him down. I was like, why did I Google this? Put your headphones back on, come back. I'm a beer and a quarter in, and I don't care about anything anymore. So let's do this. You want me to edit that up? Mm-mm. No.
Starting point is 00:37:11 Do you know that in 1999 was the year that Napster debuted? I didn't. That's great. It was really great for a long time. You could get a song in two days. Do you know that the word debued is really hard to say when you look at it? Because it looks like debutted. I mean, it doesn't seem like there should be two T's.
Starting point is 00:37:31 Yeah, it's, there's a lot going on. Yeah, I don't like it. Um, so they, they killed these party kids, except for one of them that comes back later. He comes back a couple times, isn't he? Because I saw him when I was fast forwarding. He comes back again later? Yeah, yeah, yeah, and there's a big standoff and it's ridiculous. Okay, fine. So the the wormy guy, the two-oddick, starts like getting in people's heads and like talking like their mom and stuff? The the part that I saw was him talking to the overweight man th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thin thin thin thi thi thi thi thi thi thi was him talking to the overweight man about like eating and sadness. Yeah. And I just was like, this isn't, I'm not watching this. Yeah. This is a bit much. Yeah. I just kept looking at that guy and going, if they did a
Starting point is 00:38:17 Frank Black bio-pick, like that's your dude in 1999. It's true. He had a good Black Francis vibe too. Yeah, there's that like two-hour-long dinner scene Why am I like why would I want to watch drunk people eat Chinese food for 15 minutes and I'm not one of those drunk people eating Chinese food? Honestly like it feels very masturbatory like I made this movie and that's the guy that Alex is the guy who made a movie right? He's just like we? th? th? th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that that that that that that that that that that thi. that that thi. the. the. thi. the. thi. th. thi th. movie, right? He's just like, we made this movie. We're so fucking smart, we're so fucking clever, you have to watch every second of it. Like, I've sat around a table. Life is not a Raymond Carver story where you're just sitting around being so drunk around a table talking about nonsense. Like, I expected, so I thought they were gonna like, theyme and's just, it's no, there's no dialogue. It's just them being like, jibbally gobble, give it to gop. And like, you can hear what they're saying and it's dumb, drunk asshole bullshit. Oh, is it?
Starting point is 00:39:08 Okay. Yes, it's stupid shit. And I've heard it all before. thi And I've heard, I'm just it all that's just it all that's just that's just the that's just that's just the that's just that's just tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. their tho. the that. their. their. their. their. their their their their their their their their. their. tho. tho. tho. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that. th. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. thi. th. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the th. the the the the the the thi. the their. thi. thi I don't know. I was gonna say two dads didn't get into a fistfight on the lawn during this which is my favorite upsetting Raymond Carver story. Yeah. Guess we're just talking about Raven Carver for a while? No because I will fucking kill myself. I went through a
Starting point is 00:39:37 big Raymond Carver. Me too and a period of deep depression. I was that was also my Anton Chekoff phase which no no no no you want you want you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you to you to you to you to to to to to th. th. th. th. You th. I was that was also my Anton Chekhov phase which you know no no you want to feel bad about your life No, I had a I had a Vugowski phase so oh my god. Yeah, we should all just stop doing this. Let's all just read the cat who books By whoever that lady is he writes the cat who books it's but I'm still in my Camus famo phase is that close enough to cat who? Yeah, stranger is pretty good. It is. Got that cure song. The stranger. Standing on the beach. Oh fuck. Yeah yeah. That's two pieces of the puzzle I never put together. I guess killing an Arab is the name of the song. Yeah that should have tiped me off, huh? Yeah, that should have to put out a press release after 9-11 saying, please stop playing this song like you are, you fucking, monsters. Robert Smith is like, guys, I fucked up.
Starting point is 00:40:28 Is he a dick? Is he okay? He's not like Morrissey-level dick, right? No, no, no. And he's talked shit on Morrissey constantly. Oh, I'm so glad. Saying stuff like the reason I'm not vegetarian is. Oh God, I would love to have dinner with Robert Smith. I think he's like publicly a curmugin, but he's probably fine. Like he's probably an asshole if you have to deal with him in any business capacity
Starting point is 00:40:51 because you're sure. Band members just keep dropping out and going back and dropping, you know. But like, the dude has like, that is the soundtrack to my life from like 19-19 to, oh, I don't know, 2018? Yeah, 2018. Yeah, 2018. I kept waiting for the dialogue to like settle in and then just have like the tipping conversation from reservoir dogs or... Or do the relevant conversation
Starting point is 00:41:13 or anything that meant any... That's like the dialogue is not up to where it should be for what they wanted to do. And like, I should preface this all by saying, I ain't never never the the thuuuuu-a'n't to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be the the the the the to be better. the the dialogue. the dialogue. toe. the dialogue. the dialogue. the dialogue. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. to to to to should be for what they wanted to do. And like, I should preface this all by saying, I ain't never made a movie. Oh, but if I did it, it'd be better than this. I can't write for shit. If you did, it would be better than this, Alan, I'm sure of it. But like, it's just, it's off. I think,'s just off. It's like they did. He wrote it without thinking of what people who were watching it were going to feel or think.
Starting point is 00:41:47 It was like he just missed all of that. Can't go. And that's not how you make a move. I mean, you can make a movie for yourself. That's fine. But you only get to do that when you're like an established director. Yeah, for you don't get to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to th th th the the thi thi thi thi thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, like thi, like thi, like, like, like, thi, thi, like, like, like, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. thi, thi, th. thi, thi. thi, thi, thi, thi. thi. thi, thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thto make... You've got to show your bona fides. Or you have to like come out of the gates and be like, I'm a genius.
Starting point is 00:42:09 Right, and this is not genius. Do you think he thought it was? No, no, no. No, I'm gonna... Yeah, I don't know. If you can't find any information about this movie online either. It doesn't th doesn't th th. It doesn't th. th. th. th. th. th. to to to to to to to to to to to thi. to thi. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to thi. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the thi. thi. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the thoooooooooooom. too anything on the IMDB. I searched around. Good thing we're just voting an episode to it. Thanks Skyram Runner. Nobody's going to download this one. Good thing because I'm not making any sense, I feel.
Starting point is 00:42:33 Katie. Alan. This just in. Boop boo boo boo boo. I could have saved this for mailback, but I just got so excited. Yeah. From nacho Disasters. Oh my god. On Twitter, at WheWambulance, did you know, Mausoleum has a Blu-ray that just came out?
Starting point is 00:42:54 I didn't. HASHT-Hag-1080P Marjo. Oh my god. You know, that's worth buying because it's hard to get a good transfer of that movie. , that movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie that movie movie movie that movie that movie movie that movie that movie movie that movie that movie. . You know, that's worth buying because it's hard to get a good copy of, it's hard to get a good transfer of that movie. Because when you watch it on Amazon, it's poopy. It's real bad, it's green.
Starting point is 00:43:09 It's poopy. It's the sound just like, oh, I think you described it as someone running an air conditioner just off screen. It's hot California. Can I tell you some notes that I have? Oh, please. I wish it were easier to fast forward on YouTube. Did you watch this movie in Fast Time? I try, but it was too fast for me. Methotrexate.
Starting point is 00:43:34 Ask your doctor if it's right for you. For your mild to moderate gout. I don't, they just kept talking about this drug. Like, methotrexate, methotrex, meth, meth, like, meth, like, meth, meth, meth, like, meth, meth, meth, like, methotrexate, methotrexate, like what, you... Mile to moderate gout. Yeah, isn't that what he had? That's funny. I mean, this movie tried to run the gamut from like, this is incredibly silly. I mean, it's clearly a dick.
Starting point is 00:44:02 It clearly has another dick. Yeah. Two like- Do you think exhibit came in and put a dick on their dick? I heard you like dick, so I put a dick on your dick. Oh my god, exhibit, no. Or, sign me up for Reddit. Yeah, oh god, if you have not ever read it, go look at the Reddit guy with two
Starting point is 00:44:23 dicks thi It's amazing. He has two fucking dicks. He's an AMA, it's great. Wait, what was I saying? Oh, and from that to like, this guy has brain cancer and this guy's kids don't love him. And this guy has all these eating, has an eating disorder. Like it's really deep and sad stuff and they were like we can just put, put, put, put, get the broom, get the dust pan and we'll smush it all together. Yeah. You can't do that. Yeah. Help. Send help. Okay so tell me what happened after I, after the last note I have says I just can't take it. Did you see Martin hitting
Starting point is 00:44:59 Alex in the face for like 15 minutes? No. That happens and then Alex gets shot in the chest. I bet it doesn't kill him because bullets are rarely fatal. Oh it. Except when they are. This is after Lauren calls him a walking-talking Holocaust and then she shoots him in the chest, Lauren does, and then it takes him, I don't know, two hours to die. Why did she shoot him? Why does she call him that? You know what?? I? I? I? I? I? I? I? I? I? I? I? I, I? I, I, I? I, I, I? I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I th. I th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. then it takes him, I don't know, two hours to die. Why did she shoot him? Why does she call him that? Ah, you know what, forget it. Is it because he killed the fat guy? No, I don't even want to call him the fat guy, but that's his name.
Starting point is 00:45:33 Yeah, fatty. Um, I don't, I don't have any fucking idea why anybody, like the motivation, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. the the the th. the money. So Lauren ends up with all the money. And she tries to give the money this $300,000. And they're like, you can live like a king forever. And I was like, Doug, I know it's 99. 300 grand-nade that much. Especially, wait till 2008 hits. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Here's a little crystal ball for you. No 7. Lauren like beats feet with the money. And how does she get the money? It was just there the whole time.
Starting point is 00:46:07 They kept throwing it back and forth to each other. Why do they have the money? Because they took the 300 grand that they were going to pay Dr. Odie at the beginning. And then they killed him and coming to get the case. Yeah, bringing them more money. That was going to they were going to recoup their 300 grand plus. No, I don't believe those people came up with $300,000. Agreed. In cash. In cash. Some of the, I work in wealth management. Yeah. It'd be very hard to get $300,000 in cash. And carried around a Manila envelope. You know how much just $300,000 would weigh? It would be incredibly heavy. So right?
Starting point is 00:46:50 I don't know if it was in a thousand dollar bills. They got $1,000. They got $1,000 bills. Who's on the Tupac, I think? They all say, Thug Life. Because you're never going to see him. The hate you give, man. Do you read that? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:11 I did. I did. Not yet. I know. I'll see it, but I couldn't go. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:47:19 Yeah. Love the book. Yeah. the note. Of course they kiss because she starts making out with the puppet. This is like Lauren leaves Rita alone with the puppet. Why doesn't Lauren take Rita with her? Well, she didn't want to go.
Starting point is 00:47:32 Oh, did she want to go? I think she had eyes. They had like, they had sexy times, right? They smooched. they of course they kissed and then. 1999 was a great time for burgeoning lesbianism. Sure, a little dabbling. That's like a little college lesbianism. Yeah, yeah. That's a fair thing to say I'm sure that no, that didn't upset anyone.
Starting point is 00:47:56 It was a, it was like, it was being pushed hard in the zeitgeast of that time. Sure, it was a very, it was both, it was a problem of both both both both both both both both both both both both both both both both both both both both both both both both both both both both both both both girls girls both both girls both girls girls both girls both both girls girls girls both girls both both girls girls girls both girls girls both both girls girls girls girls girls girls girls both both both girls. gazed at that time. Sure, it was a very, it was both, it was a problem of both girls gone wild being a thing, and the lilac fair being a thing. Right, and it was just two worlds colliding of girls kissing. Right, and like there was this like, yeah, there was this like error of like, okay, maybe this is like a thing now that like culture is ready for. Sure, yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't mean like th th th th the th the the th the th the th th the th th the th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th, it was just th is just just just just just just th. It was just, it was just th. It was just th. It was just th. It was just thus. It was just things, things, things, things, thi. It was just, thi. It was just, thi. It was just thi. It was just mean to say it as a problem. I just mean it was I didn't think you sounded dismiss it. It was world's it was world's quiet and yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Look, you want to smooch girls, you smooge girls. That's how I feel. All day long. You do what you like. Girls are better than on it. I like how you pointed over your shoulder when you said that like those dicks are just over there. So then I have
Starting point is 00:48:49 the note why is she gonna fuck this thing? Why does she? And she cries. And then I have the note I mean why is she fucking this thing? And then I have the note it's licking her titty. Yeah and then I have the note, this movie, Sucks. Oh, oh, no. Wait, what happened to Mustash Guy? Uh, Party Guy killed him, I think. Okay, fine. What happened a party guy? Uh, he just died. He succumbed to his wounds, I think.
Starting point is 00:49:24 Or maybe Rita killed? I can't remember. Whoed to his wounds, I think. Or maybe Retic Killed? I can't remember. Who cares? As I said, I was checked out. Yeah. As well, you should be. This movie is very hard to watch. We've done so many bad movies.
Starting point is 00:49:34 But even the worst of them were not this hard to watch. Yeah, the happening is full of beautiful and interesting to watch people. Ghost ship, easier to watch. I also think that's true of that too. Everybody's movies kind of an uggo anyway. I do have the note, like, I don't think they're bad actors necessarily. No, I think you're wrong. I figured she might. Yeah. So she picks the skin flaps off the things eyes and that's, th is, thops, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, th. th. thi, th. thi, thi, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, is thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. thi. thii. thii. thiii. thi. thi. that's, is thi, has pits. This was put up on YouTube five years ago. It has 11,000 views. You could film yourself farting into a piece of bread and eating it, and it would get more than 11,000 views on YouTube in five years.
Starting point is 00:51:02 But then it would have that banner at the top where someone was catching a load in their footage. What did you say? It was on YouTube. What did you say? It was on some, it was like sex, x, x, x, x, x, dot com or something. But I had just, like, if you Google, the item sex scene, it pops up right away. And I was like, oh, there it is. thi, tha. I was like, that. And that. And that. And that. I was like, that. It was like, that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. th. th. th. th. th. th. that. It was, th. th. th.
