Werewolf Ambulance: A Horror Movie Comedy Podcast - Episode 211- Bird Box (2018)

Episode Date: January 14, 2019

This week, everyone else is talking about the 2018 Netflix film "Bird Box" so why shouldn't we? Just a fair warning: this is a new movie and we are going to spoil it, so if you're intending to watch i...t, watch it first. Special topics for your consideration include: you can't just take someone else's name, a difference of opinion on Sandra Bullock, survival plans for the apocalypse, existential crises, a compare and contrast with "The Happening" and WHAT'S IN THE BOOOOOX?!?  You know we also covered "The Happening," right? Check out that one and let us know how you think the films stack up-- it's Episode 12 (because we really came out of the gate swinging).  Have you seen this one? What? It's the sweet, sweet song of the birds. It's the sweet, sweet song of the birds. It's called Bird's the Sweet Sweet. You're a sweet, sweet song of the birds. It's a sweet song, the t-up. That is a great album name. Are you Machine Gun Kelly? God, no. Thank goodness. It would be very weird if I was sitting here with Machine Gun Kelly. You know it bothers me about that?
Starting point is 00:00:48 That his name's Machine Gun Kelly. Yeah, you can't just take someone else's name. You can make a pun out of someone else's name. But I can't just be like on the planet is Julia Roberts. So maybe that's not a great example. But they didn't take it as their moniker most likely. Okay, let me start over. That's like being like, hi, I'm little orphan Annie.
Starting point is 00:01:13 That's the name, little orphananny. Is that better? That's better? Okay. I only know who this fella is because he had- This fella, this fella on machine gun Kelly. Him and Eminem had beef and I heard about it through like my vaguely paying attention to hip hop. See, I only know who he is because he's friends with Pete Davidson. No, he's got some problems right? Yeah, it seems like he's gonna have some problems on going forward.
Starting point is 00:01:40 I have no fucking idea. I see that guy's name pop up, like when I'm on Google News. I don't th th't know who that fellow is. It's just a youngster. Yeah. They're all youngsters. Still bleached in their hairs. They're not. Guys don't do that. You're not, you're not a high school soccer team. Unless you are, in which case, I guess blea your hair. Oh, man, I went through the 90s. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the 90. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thin, th. Yeah. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I. Yeah. Yeah. I. Yeah. I. I th. Yeah. I th. Yeah. I th. Yeah. I the. Yeah. I the. I the. Yeah. I the the the the whole thing. Oh the whole thing. Eventually just the tip to see how it fells. No, put the back on, put the headphones on. Yeah, um, no, I was in an emo hardcore kid in the 90s. I had bleached hair with a different colored beard. Yeah, just like Hulkogan. Or my father. Like Hulkogan. I was in MWO.O. Yeah. Hollywood, Hogan, I guess. Which is going to time stamp this episode. RIP, Mean Gene Oakland. That's a bummer.
Starting point is 00:02:33 It is. It is. Yeah. Yeah. The good ones just keep getting taken from us. Like the real machine gun killing. He's an Alcatraz, right? That's like his, he was, yeah?
Starting point is 00:02:48 Oh, I don't know. Never mind it does matter. Are you a gangster fan? No. No, okay. I was hoping to unlock a secret Katie like. I love reading about old time of gangsters. No, they're boring. Ooh, our crimes organized. Shut that fucking topic out of your ass to get here. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, the the the the th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, yeah, thi, the thi, the th. Our crimes organized. Shut that fucking topic
Starting point is 00:03:07 out of your ass to get out of here. Honestly. Oh man. So... I mean were it not for the mafia, I would probably live in Sicily, so... That's why my family came here. Oh really? Yeah, I had to come here and become bootleggers. Yeah, it's a good life. It's a good life. I've always thought that my dad really wanted to be mobbed up. Yeah. Yeah, he's really into that shit. I mean, there's a certain sub. Wait, forget it. We are way off track for this episode.
Starting point is 00:03:38 We're gonna spoil the fuck out of this. Yeah, watch it, watch it. We already spoiled part of it, which is that there are birds in a box. And Machine Gun Kelly is in it. These are things you may not have known. Peripherly in this movie. He's got a two lines and then he's naked for a second. Could have done without him. I though th th love Sandra Bullock and you do not is my understanding
Starting point is 00:04:08 from the from from the downstairs conversation before we came up into the recording annex. Yeah. I don't think she's a good actor. I think that's a controversial opinion. Yeah. Okay. Maybe I just don't like the movie she's in. What, you didn't love miscongeniality? Nope. Starring Benjamin Brat of Law and Order Fame? You didn't love speed? That's an action movie I've seen.
Starting point is 00:04:34 I've never seen speed. Wow. It was about a bus that went fast, right? You love Keanu Reeves, you like to marry him. I should go, well, technically I want to marry John Wick, which is just a character that he plays. I thought you loved Keanu. I do. I do.
Starting point is 00:04:49 I want to marry him if you love him so much so much more play. Is that an option? I don't think it would be really beneficial to my financial situation. And also this podcast when you're married to Kier. We'll to get to get to get to get to get to get they to Just one though. Everybody gets one. Unless you carry, you get two. Oh yeah, Carrie did get too. That was fun. Yeah, I don't know. Maybe I'm a dick. That might be a possibility to hear that I'm just... I mean, you're not generally unsupportive of like lady actresses, so I don't think it's being a dick. There's just something about her that's what you think. Stop, stop, no.
Starting point is 00:05:25 That's what you think, that's fine. No, it was like, when I announced that after watching this movie to Missy, she was like, oh, you can pack your bags and leave. So it was, that's why I'm back-bettling hard on this opinion of mine. Yeah, I see. She's going to listen to to to Sandy's honor. So, I mean, it's fine if you think she's a bad actress, I think she's not. Yeah. And I liked Miss Congeniality. That's the one where she's in Lugly Tuckling, right? And then like she tastes glasses off.
Starting point is 00:05:50 You know, I hate it. That was the first time I saw her. So I was like, that's I think what it probably is is that I locked her in my head as like romcom actress sure that's been a her staple and so I was just like well I don't like those one I don't like her and then well we'll get into it with this movie okay but that that the the. Okay but that was a bummer. Is mean either, but it's the fucking redux of the happening. Yeah, that was a bummer. What are the happening? Hear me out, had blindfolded in. Yeah, it's a bummer. It's a bummer. Apparently in an original cut of the movie you see the monsters. I did read that and they looked so bad if they said it was a green man with a baby face? What? Why was it that? Why don't th? th. th. lot of money, I'm sure? Oh yeah. John Malkovich isn't working for pennies and
Starting point is 00:06:50 peanuts. Oh man, I love John Malkovich. He's such a dick in this movie. I think he's just a dick and it just like comes through like, well, here I am. Well, it's me. Just how B.D. Wong, B. D. W. the thing. th. B. B. B. B. B. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. He's always the thing that we had just watched Jurassic World. Oh, okay. Spoiler alert for that. B.D. Wong is a dick in that movie. Is he? Yeah. He was in the original Jurassic Park as a scientist. Is he a scientist? Oh, he's the same. Why is he a dick? No,'t realize BD Wong was so popular. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:26 People love BD Wong. Ah, yeah. I know him from Oz. Oh, okay. Yeah. Well, whatever. Where I had to see the guy from BioHazard to Weener a lot. Which guy from Biohazard?
Starting point is 00:07:36 The main singer, the, Evan Seinfeld. I definitely in my head just heard you say bio-dome. And I didn't know if you meant polysure or the bald one. I was. I repeated biohazard my my I heard bio-dome. 98% sure that you had no interest in biohazard. You were right I don't. Not that urban discipline? No, no, but I do like biodome a lot.
Starting point is 00:08:05 It's pretty funny. You did repeat bio-assum to me. I did, I did, what guy from my head? You know what that is, being real stupid. Anyway. Oh, man. So, this movie is, however happening-esque it might be. It is incredibly stressful.
Starting point is 00:08:24 Did you think that? I did. I was also pretty high. Okay. My first notice is I'm just already so stressed. Man, we had very different reactions to this movie. Okay, tell me yours. I had no emotional connection at all to this movie. Really? Until almost the very end of the movie and it was because they did something that's going to get me every time. What you had? a to have? I I I to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have the to have the the to have to have the the their. I was their. I was their. I was their. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was thi. I was thi. I was also also. I was thi. I was thi. I was also. I was the the thi. I was the th. until almost the very end of the movie and it was because they did something that's going to get me every time. What named a child? No, have a little girl cry on screen. I was like, oh no, no, no, like her lips started going in. I was like, no, no, no, no, I'm done. I'm done. I feel like people are so tired of hearing about my child. I, and mothers in horror movies are so,
Starting point is 00:09:10 they're always at fucking fault, right? Like Norman Bates's mom and, oh, Jason Vorey's mom and. Oh, she's trying to help her kid home. She's so, yeah, right. I mean, it's okay, so it's this overprotective, crazy. Sure, Carrie, we just talked about that. Or like in the Babaduke, like the single mother who's just so deeply flawed and like borderline abusing her child.
Starting point is 00:09:36 There's never like a great portrayal of mother, even Rosemary's baby, like, walk away from your husband and see another doctor you asshole like grow a spine mothers are almost never badasses and they're almost never not the root cause of the problem sure and in this one I felt like she I felt like she was directed by a woman I felt like she was a good mom despite not naming the children for five years see I did what she had to do. She couldn't sacrifice either of them. She would not Sophie's choice it. It's true, even though they said it up that she was definitely going to do that. Yeah, but she didn't. Also, how well was that little girl cast for being the daughter of the mother? She looked just like it. Yeah, have you seen dumpling? Have a th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. th. th. thi. thi, the. th. She's th. She's th. She's th. She's th. She's th. She's thi, thi, thi, she's thi, she's th. She's th. She's th. She's th. She's th. She's th. She's th. She's th. She's th. She's th. She's th. She's th. She's th. She's th. She's th. She's th. She's th. She's theee. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S, theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelin? No, I'm not going to see that. Look, I don't need to see Jennifer Aniston do anything else in my life.
Starting point is 00:10:29 That's how I feel. Oh really, you're done with her. I mean, what else do I need from her? It's what she's giving you, not what you mean. You'll take what Jennifer Aniston gives you and you'll like it. So I was kind of like put on the back foot right from the jump in this movie where it's like seem like she didn't want to be pregnant? No she didn't. And then everyone else was like, I'll just suck it up buttercup and have a baby you know which like yeah that was a little weird.
Starting point is 00:10:54 This is and like her sister's going to thrown. Well it seemed like they were like you've made the decision to have. to have. to have. to have. to have. to have. to have. to have, to have, to have, to have, to have, to have, to to to to to to the decision, to the decision, the decision, to to to to to the to the to the to the decision, to the to to the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be to be to be to be to be to be to be the the the the the the th. the, the, thr. thrown. thrown, the, thrown, the, thrown, the the the. the the the the the thrown, the the, the, the, th was kind of the disconnect there. That she was at the point of no return except possibly adoption and didn't want to do that. Yeah. So like if you're going to have this baby, you have to have, you can't just half ass having a baby. You really can't. Right. I want to backpedal a little bit. I don't think she was a good mother. Oh sure, very honest on the level, yeah. But not, she wasn't the bad guy for a fucking change. Right. I don't know, it really made me happy. Sure. I mean the rest of everything else was the bad guy.
Starting point is 00:11:30 Yeah. Everything else was thwarting, raising these kids in any kind of sane and safe way. Yeah. You had no emotional connection. You didn't feel. I really didn't. And I felt like, I felt mildly dead inside because I wasn't feeling it. I was like, I should be connecting with this movie and I'm not at all. Like, yeah. I didn't care about anybody. I got really annoyed with like, like, like, when she has the interaction with John Malkovich,
Starting point is 00:11:56 and the kitchen after he's been a dick, and I'm like, I'm a dick, I get it, and he's like, yeah, I'm a dick, and they're like, ah, dick's. Yeah. And it was like, oh, so we're cool? I don't know. But he said the thing about like, there's only two kinds of people, the assholes and the dead. Yeah, I kind of like that. I mean, and I think to be the dead. Yeah, in the mouth of the zombie, in the mouth of the shark that could walk on land now. Whatever, I'm just, just packing my shit. I don't know why I'm packing it, I could probably leave it behind. And I'm gonna jump it. It's coming with, it's coming. the belly of the beast. You ever get sung by a jellyfish? Little guys, any of any ones, that just leave like little marks on you.
Starting point is 00:12:45 Not like Portuguese mad at I'm warm. Yeah. One time I went swimming at the beach and I came out of the water and my pockets were filled with tiny jellyfish and it was fucking weird. That is fucking weird. I must sound like a real high right now because I'm like, what tells I had jellyfish pockets? No, that is, you are also super stoned. I really like Sarah Paulson and Sandra Bullock as sisters. Sure.
Starting point is 00:13:10 You like Sarah Paulson? Yeah, yeah. But you don't, you don't watch American horror stories, so she doesn't matter to you. I know her from other stuff that I can't think of why I know her. Oh, Jay, you watch that. I thought it was great. I thought it was great and her haircut made me cry. This is the episode where she gets a haircut. I cried. That was miserable. I remember when that happened.
Starting point is 00:13:29 It was fucking awful. Yeah. Ugh. I don't know why I know her, but I know her from the too'er. But yeah, they were fine. Like I thought they a criminal underuse of Luriel from the guy from Get Out that was also in this movie. He was the security guard and Get Out.
Starting point is 00:13:49 Oh, he was the friend. Yeah. He was Charlie in this book. Yeah, yeah, he goes too early. And I think I just spent the whole movie going, but what is it? But what is it? I know. And I should be like, I've read enough love-crafting horror to know like, it's just the thing that's out there that's going to kill you, but like.
Starting point is 00:14:09 It needed to be flushed out a little. I mean, be scientific, dush-bill. Because I felt like Charlie was like, well, every culture has demons. And everyone was like, well, I guess that's what it is. Yeah. No one does any investigation. And there's no like revelation of like, I was also annoyed that there was one trial and error of like, well, what if we watch them through a TV? And that obviously did not work. And there was no other like, well,
Starting point is 00:14:36 what if we just put a little bit of covers on it? Right. Because you, it's not like just looking outside. You have to see it, right? But you can't look away. And we don't, like, that was a thing that bothered me is when we're in like the big stampede scene. And John Malkovich's wife comes out to try to help Mallory because she can see that she's pregnant.
Starting point is 00:14:58 And she like is running towards her and then stops and like looks off camera and says mom mom don't go yeah like she just is she walking like what is she seen we never find out how it's affecting people I guess you can make the logical leap that it makes you see something that makes you walk towards it or that drives you to kill yourself but why didn't okay and then there were the people the like crazy people which I'm doing with finger quotes, who had escaped from an institution, who are trying to force people to look at it because they love it. Why didn't it affect them?
Starting point is 00:15:33 They were never flushed out either. So I don't know if you saw the mashable article that's been making the rounds about how this movie was very disrespectful to people who have suicidal tendencies and people with mental illnesses. Yeah, yeah. It's very, it's not making light of suicide, but it's like. It's kind of flippant about it. It's flippin, yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:53 I didn't, like, I didn't feel that when watching this movie. I wasn't like, oh, they're being super disrespectful. It's just like a thi. I thu, thu, thu, thu, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, it's, it's, thi, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, th. It, th. It, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. It's not, thi. It's not, like, thi. It's not thi. It's not thi. It's not thi. It's not thi. It's not thi. It's not, thi. It's not, oh, it's just like a dumb premise for this movie. Like, everyone's just gonna start killing themselves because they see a thing. Yeah. I've also heard that, like, a critique of this movie is that the thing is social media. Oh, no, no, no, no. No, that's not. But, like, I don't think that's necessarily what the filmmakers had in mind, but that's like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, like, the, like, the, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, people are like, what would it? It's like social media you get so invested in it, and it's not real, and it drives you to, like, do awful things, and. Can we all just agree to stop using social media?
Starting point is 00:16:30 Like, how do we make that happen? But how will I post pictures of my new year's day? But how do that thea? But what I took? I posted my New Year's Day breakfast, which I made a big Dutch baby and it was delightful. Oh, was it good? It was really good. I make a fine Dutch baby. Now, I'll go look at the picture later. Although you just told me about it, so do I really need to?
Starting point is 00:16:50 No. No, I thought Sarah Paulson walking into too, to the car lady who walked into the car. Yeah, she got out and walked away because she was still alive when the car flipped. Oh shit, you're right, you're right, you're right. Sorry, I was thinking of the John Malcadridge's wife. Well, regardless, whoever it was. Yeah. Just like walked into a burning car and sat down like she was going to, I thought that was, I was like, oh, that's scary. Yeah, I just, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was, I was, I was, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, I was the, I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. Yeah, I was th. Yeah, I was th. Yeah, I was th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. just got in my head too much about things and wasn't letting the movie take me, I guess, on the ride. Did you read a lot about it before you watched it? Not really.
Starting point is 00:17:31 I kind of knew the premise of it. And I'd watch the trailer a bunch, but like, yeah. I think it was paced badly. Yeah. Yeah. There was no climax to it. Like when they, I guess the rapids were supposed to be the climax maybe. Yeah. But I was expecting something else and they were okay and that was it. I kept expecting like something like, they're the rapids and they were okay and that was it. I kept expecting like something else. their thea. As a mother. could handle it, would you be like, definitely bring my kids down this river? I think she didn't have it. She never wanted to go, but she told her guy that she would.
Starting point is 00:18:11 But why not just walk it? Why, like? Because it took them 48 hours or like, with take you. Yeah I guess. But I was like, why are you on that river though? Like, I mean, rivers are terrifying, like fully sighted on them. I know. I think that's just like you have no other choice. Yeah. Also, Lucy wouldn't do very well with that, but she's only 18 months old. It's true. It's true. It's true. It's got true. true. true. true. to to to to to to th true. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thr. thr. thr. thrific. thrific. thr. thr. thrific. thrific. thr-I. thr-I thr-I thr-I thr-I. thr-I. thr-I. th. th. th. th. th. I's just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just th. thr. thr. thr. thr. thr. throoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooe. I the. I therible of this movie. I feel like I would just like... You just peek? What's going? What's up to? Another complaint I had about this movie was it felt very Stephen Kingy. Mmm, too gimmicky? Well, just like we're gonna cram a bunch of like disparate people into a house together.
Starting point is 00:18:55 It was like the real world. We'll just see what happens with all these people, like they're eating my cereal. the real real real real real real real real real real real real real real real real real real real real real real demons, d demons, d demons, the demons, the demons, the demons, the demons, the demons, the demons, the demons, the demons, the demons, the demons, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the real, the their, to, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, that. I was like, it was just like, oh well, okay, there's the dush bag with the tattoos and now he's fucking the cop. And like, yeah. And like, that scene was really weird. Yeah, and then they just leave. They just steal the car and leave. Yeah, where they drove to the supermarket. Yeah. That was terrifying. It was good. I think what this movie is trying to do is like, You take away a sense and it's really scary. You know what I mean? Like, did you see that movie with Jim from the office where they have to be quiet or whatever? I haven't. I haven't either because I saw the trailer and I was like th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th th th th th th th th th th th th th thi thi thi thi thi what thi what thi what thi what th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th. th. th. thi thr- thr- thri try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try throee thr- thr- try that is too scary. Too tense, too tense. Yeah, I also felt like I would probably do the same thing with this movie. It was like, but you're making noise.
Starting point is 00:19:49 You're definitely making noise. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:57 Yeah. But the idea of like removing one of the sense and like trying to to to the, the, the, the, the, the, the, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, the, to, to, to, to, the, the, the, the, the, the, to, to, the, to, to, the, the, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, tttttttttttttthe, tthe, tthea, ttha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha but trying to navigate the world. Right. You know, like when, that towards the end when she's running through the woods with the kids and she keeps tripping, Rob was like, why are you falling over so much? I was like, because she can't, she can't fucking see. Yeah. But like, but that scene confused me too. Yeah, that's that's that's that's that's that's that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's th. th. th. th. the th. the the the the th. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. the. the. the. towe. towards. towards. the. towards. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. towards like, well, why are they converging on her now? And where are they coming from? And sometimes they're talking to it. Yeah. Like, wow. I just wanted a better explanation of what it was and how it affected people. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You can't have it. Or one or the other, like, I don't know. I kind of feel like it was the thing that you've often complained about, where it's like, you set out the set of rules and then immediately start breaking them. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:51 And this was like, you have to see the thing. And this was like, you have to see the thing. But like, the first one we encounter is talking with a velar jumpsuit. They were like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the see it. Right. Yeah. And she's wearing a velar jumpsuit. They were like five years ago, the lor jumps out. No. I also, I wasn't too into the like the flipping back and forth in time. I thought that was supposed to be like a tension-building thing and I wasn't getting that from it. Especially because what was happening in the present for most of the movie wasn't that much. No. The only difference was she had longer hair and children.
Starting point is 00:21:27 Aged children. I was so stoked when her hair was long. I was not feeling that short hair. Yeah, you're like that? It was just always curled with a flat iron and it's like, how are you doing that? It's like, it's the about her relationship with Tom. Sensitive of a buff ex-soldier. Yes. Hitting on a pregnant lady is like a weird thing to do, I think.
Starting point is 00:21:51 For sure. Yeah. And going hard in the paint when you're hitting on her. Yeah. Yeah. Also, he's 54. She looks great. She does. Both of them look fantastic. Oh my God. Yes. I was like, oh, maybe I do need to see Moonline. What is he's in the movie Moonlight. Oh. I'm not too. I'll see it now. But he's, yeah, he's extremely handsome. Oh, God. Just disgustingly handsome. They shouldn't be allowed to be that handsome. It's a curse. Yeah, I know. It's a curse. Yeah, I know. He. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. he's. th. th. He's. He's. th. th. th. th. th. th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. He. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I th. I th. Ily handsome. They shouldn't be allowed to be that handsome. It's a curse. Yeah, you know.
Starting point is 00:22:28 What do you think of that childbirth scene? You like that? Yeah, you didn't. You didn't? You said, I'd ask if you liked a childbirth scene? I was, when the, when Sandra Bullock also went into labor, I was like, come on, what's going on here? Why are they both going to labor at the same time? I don't know. It doesn't seem right.
Starting point is 00:22:49 It doesn't. It doesn't seem right. It doesn't seem right. I feel bad because this movie made you really tense. I feel like I'm just shiting on it. I mean, just because it made me really tense. I made, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, thi, thi, it thi, it that, it th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it th. th. th. th. th. th th th th th thi, thi, thi, thi, doesn't thi, doesn't thi, doesn't thi thi te te te the te the the the the the the the the the the the the the mean I thought it was good. Okay, but it did I was I was very tense. I was also very high I'm sorry to say it I was I took in some medicine I don't know if that affected my viewing of it I was and I cried at the end sure so you know yeah also like having a child has totally wrecked me for things with feelings. I was going to ask you if you felt like like that like really intensified. Oh it's intensified all of these things and also like with the scene where she's screaming at the little girl who had wandered
Starting point is 00:23:29 off and she's screaming at her I can't trust you like of course you can't trust her she's a tiny child and she knows that but like to be at that point where you're screaming this at it I don't know I don't know the the part the part the the part the part the part the part the part the part the part the part the part the part the part the part the part of that the part of of of of of of of of of of of of that that that that the part of that the part of that that that that that that that that that that that the part of the part of that that that that that that that that the part part part part part part part part part part part part part part part part part part part part part part part part part part part part part part part part part part part part part part part part part. the part. the part. the part. the part. the part. the part. the part. the part of of of of of of of of of of of of of of of of of of of of. that that. that. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I'm. the the the the that. I. that. that. I. that. that. that. I. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the.totally broke me. I'm an easy cry, as everyone knows. Everyone knows. It's listening to this fuck, because I talk about crying all the time. Reddit.com slash R, slash, Alan's an easy cry. When she reaches out for the little girl and toucest her, I like fucking soft. Like there was like an audible, oh man.
Starting point is 00:24:02 The little girl was just like, I wanted to like, I wanted to protect her. I wanted to save her. Yeah, she was just cute in a sweater. Yeah. And when we, actually, when there's a scene where she like climbs out of the boat or something, and you see what she's wearing, which is like a belted kitty tat sweater or something, and Rob just goes, the little girl, thio, thio, little babies and like this horrible thing. I don't know. Why didn't I feel that same thing about the little boy?
Starting point is 00:24:27 The little girl I was like, I am all in and I was like, you're like a boy? Overboard, boy, you can look. You can steer. But I also wondered like in the dynamic of this movie and the rules that were set out like, it seemed to be something you were longing for that was going to kill you. Yeah, these kids are like five? Yeah, I don't know though, because even Sarah Paulson is like, what is that?
Starting point is 00:24:52 And then she goes, like, what was it? I don't know. She seemed scared by it, not enamored of it. Right, right, right, right. So what is it? I do not know. That's frustrating. Yeah. What kind of reviews this movie again? Bad ones? I think it's pretty mixed.
Starting point is 00:25:10 Yeah. I've seen a lot of like friends of mine. They were like, meh. And then I see other people that are like, Sandra Bullock deserves an Oscar. I really did think she was great, regardless of what you think. I do have multiple notes that just say bird in a box because they kept showing the birds in a box. Yeah, they didn't really have much to do those birds.
Starting point is 00:25:31 They didn't get any lines. No. Nor like I expected a scene that was like going to be super tense because the birds were bugging out. Yeah. And like whenever what happens when they let that guy in that ends up killing all, basically killing all of them, the birds freak out. And no one's there to hear them. So like, shit alarm, I guess. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:25:54 Put some in the freezer. the and somehow those fucking birds made it in the hands of a five-year-old girl. I'm surprised by that. We're underwater for a long time. I'm surprised by that. But in that scene I was like if one of these kids drowns I'm gonna be so fucking pissed. You know, I was not gonna take that. I was not gonna take that. Both those kids have to make it to the end of the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the end the the to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the end. the end of the end of the end of the end of the the end of the end of the end of the end of the the the end of the end of the end of the end of the the end of the the the end of the the the the the the the the the the the the if they'd killed one. Look, that it ends so happily. It's such a happy ending.
Starting point is 00:26:27 Huffed up virgining on like cornball. Yeah. The guy who is the like cultist, crazy person that comes in the house, I can't remember his name right now. Gary, I think? Was that Jerry? Yeah, Tom Hollander. Who's the little dude in Ghostbusters to? Brooke Moranis?
Starting point is 00:26:46 No, no, no. Oh, Slimmer? No, the guy who hangs out with a Vigo. Oh, Janush. He reminded me so much of him. The above vest side. He was just like the little guy with like the curly poof of hair. Yeah, that's pretty good.
Starting point is 00:27:03 God, I love Janish. Via my coveted goop. Oh man, I love your love of that movie. Ah, it's so much better than the first one. Great use of Jackie Wilson. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That was much better than the first one.
Starting point is 00:27:22 I still quiet. So there's, um, I haven't know what this is, didn't these people see 28 days later? And I don't remember what I was thinking at that point. I don't remember much of 28 days later for some reason. Um, but like, so can you peak? So can you peak? Could you peek?
Starting point is 00:27:43 It seems like you could peek if you had to peek, but nobody ever peaks. No, because Tom peaks and Tom dies. When does he peek? When he's like defending the house. He knows, he goes full on fuck it and goes out there. I thought he was like, oh no, he did be, because he went into the house and peaked around real quick. doors? I don't know if you have tape on your windows, I think. That's why, yeah, yeah, it's just, tape. Like, she could have peaked while she was going down the rapids.
Starting point is 00:28:13 Sure, yeah, yeah. Well, then just like how much peeking is looking. You know what I mean? I don't know, but I think I would have peaked. 100% or like, I don't know, fuck man, I would have tried something. Like, it was just like, I think maybe like my tensometer went so far that I was like, I just don't want this to be happening, like why is this happening? You just didn't care so much that.
Starting point is 00:28:37 Why are you going down this fucking river? Like it was driving me insane? What other options do you think she had? Go inside and stay there forever? Go to Google Maps and try to figure it, because evidently GPS was still working. That's true. Try to figure out what we're looking for and figure another route. Like I just don't think too young, two five-year-old kids on a river
Starting point is 00:29:00 and you can't see. Yeah. Like, that that that makes me want to puke. Yeah. Like having... I don't even like taking Lucy to the indoor pool by myself. And they've got lifeguards. And I'm sighted. I can see. Oh, which just reminded me.
Starting point is 00:29:18 Netflix put on a tweet today asking people to stop doing the bird box challenge. What is that? Where people are doing shit blindfolded. Like, you know, I'm gonna say that's so fucking stupid, but Netflix should have seen that coming. These are people who ate tide pods, you know? God, we need a cabin in the woods this whole thing. And just let the evil gods take it and just let someone else have a chance. We are fucking done. You're gonna be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be able to be able to be able to be able to be able to be able to be able to be able to be able to be able to be able to be able to be able to be able to be able to be able to be to be to be to be to be to be the evil gods take it and just let someone else have a chance. We are fucking done. You're gonna be able to shoot Sigourney Weaver though?
Starting point is 00:29:48 I don't have to. I'm just gonna die. Don't you understand? I'm just gonna die. Don't you understand? I do. I hate hearing it though. This is my birth.
Starting point is 00:30:01 I have bad news for you. Someday I'm gonna die. Someday everyone you love is gonna die. Listen, we're 31 minutes into this. Don't feed into my existential crisis anymore. I'm sorry. Did you believe the relationship, like, of Tom and her? Oh, absolutely not. Like surviving, and they were like, they were together five years, right? Yeah, presumably.
Starting point is 00:30:21 And he raised them, and she was just being the their th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th those children, you know? He raised them and she was just being her asshole dad to them. That was my takeaway from it. He was the good mom all this time. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, so yeah. Because he's like, oh, they need imagination and they need stories and they need hope. And she's like, hope's gonna fucking, like, thetoo. I have more to hope. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:46 Not the monkey in a diaper holding a straight razor, but that one always gets me. That was when I thought tattoos were stupid to get stupid tattoos. You don't think that anymore? That was like within the last couple years you've said that to me. I mean, I still do. I'm like real hung up on the idea that it's social media now and I that makes me really hate it. I'm sure that that couldn't have been the intent. No, no I just don't that's the thing like the happening was environmentalism right that was like
Starting point is 00:31:17 the thrust of the habit I guess. And I even felt like the woman banging her head against the glass. Was M-Night Shomalon in that? Yeah, exactly. I'm so stoked that you thought that. It's literally the first thing I thought, why am I watching the happening? Exactly. And I cared for these characters in a way that I didn't. I think I just put myself in her shoes, which I guess is a demographic issue. I was theto say something very controversial right now. Please.
Starting point is 00:31:46 I had more fun watching the happening than this movie. It's a more fun movie for sure. This movie had nothing about this movie as fun, which was hard on the heels of from dusk till dawn, which is literally 100% fun except for all the rapy stuff from Quentin Tarantino. Would you get the satisfaction of watching Quentin Tarantino die twice? Yeah, it's true. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:07 So they may get down the river. Yeah. They get chased through the woods by a bunch of monsters? That's I guess the question, right? Is there a bunch of them? Is it one? Is it just like everywhere? Is it the intent was to have like a physical creature because they filmed it at one point. And there's all the drawings of it that the crazy guy has in the house.
Starting point is 00:32:29 He puts down a bunch of drawings of these like awful monsters. Yeah. Yeah. He's like a child drawing pictures at school that's disturbing. Yeah. Yeah. It's like the little lenses that he had in to make his eyes all wormy and weird looking. Yeah. I liked when like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like. He like like like. He like. He like like. He like. He the the the child. He th like. He th like. He the child. He the child. He the child. He the child. He the child. He the child. He's like like like like like like like. He's like like the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. th. thr thr thro. throooooooo throooooooooooooo. th. the the the the had in that made his eyes all wormy and weird looking. Yeah. Yeah. I liked it when that happened to people, they could tell, yeah, I like to that. So they make it to the school for the blind? Yeah. You didn't like that? You're looking to me like you didn't like that. I was like, wo addressed if you're going to use that as a plot point. But if I can't remember the actor, the guy
Starting point is 00:33:07 that they walk in, he's in like, he's in a reason the UNRWA episode of X-Files. He's the painter guy, he's got the eyes that go fast back and forth. Yes. He's been in a bunch of stuff and like they kind of show up and he's like, they're like, they're the they're the they're the they're kind they're kind they. they're kind they're kind their up. they're kind they're kind they're kind they're kind their they're kind they're kind they're kind they're kind they're kind they kind they kind kind kind kind they're kind they're they're kind they kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind. they're. they're. they're kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind. they're. they're. I. I. Ied people here, you know, I guess they were saying something and there's birds. And he's like, non-plus and fuck it about it? No, just like, he's like, just come in, I got a great sweater on. Yeah, here's some clean clothes and make yourselves at home. Oh, there's your, there's your OBGYN. I think it's Lapham. Stop saying Lapham. Stop saying Lapham. That was a real progeria situation. Yeah, really what?
Starting point is 00:33:47 Like, could nobody correct her? Dr. Lapham? And the Dr. Lapham is like, oh, these are your kids. And she's like, yes, this is, you have names now. God damn it. Well, I think that was to indicate that she believed now they could survive they would have something yeah you know but man five years though naming your kid is crazy crazy you don't think like year two and a half you're like all right you're gonna be around here for a minute
Starting point is 00:34:17 and like your rational seeming partner isn't like all right look that one's Benny that one's slap slap you could not think of another name that you wouldn't just start calling them them them them them them them them them the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you know you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th th th to th th the the to the to the to thy. the the the the thy know to to thy. the the the the the the th, that one's Benny, that one's sloppy. I could not think of another name, that you wouldn't just start calling them something else. I mean, I call my kid by a billion names. Sure, yeah, exactly. I mean, like, it's not the same thing, but you know, I like, we'll get a pet and I'm like, I have a maximum of 13 years with you. And you're getting a fucking name. Yeah, you're getting a fucking name, and then you're gonna get it like three or four more. Yeah. Yeah, it felt like,
Starting point is 00:34:51 My kid answers to Hey Clown. It's, because I say it to her so much. Hoop. Hey, clown. Hey, clown. So she just goes and they're gonna live in the place. So she just goes and they're gonna live in the place now with all the birds and there's like a cage over top. So they can't come in tours. It was so weird. You know what else to it? That was a cage of foliage. I'd probably die. Yeah. Where are they? They're in California, huh? Might not die. Yeah. Yeah. You know I thought I liked it a lot more until we started talking about it. Oh, man. They blew it? the the the the the the the their their their? I their their? I their their? I their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their. their their their their their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. tow. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. t. t. t. t. t. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to I thought I liked it a lot more until we started talking about it.
Starting point is 00:35:26 Oh man. I blew it for me. You did. I'm a ruiner. I think I just was so stressed. Sure. I was so stressed. I mean, there's something to be said for having that visceral of an effect on you.
Starting point is 00:35:38 Sure. It's something to be said for like hating that kid so much. Sure. You know what I mean? Oh my gosh, yeah. There's something to be said for this movie giving you so much stress. And obviously like it's hitting people's buttons because 45 million people have watched it. I don't think that's true though. I don't know. I mean, how many people subscribe to Netflix? I'll ask Google. to know the real answer. Yeah. I'd be surprised if it was 45 million. How many people subscribe to Netflix? Netflix now has 104 million subscribers worldwide.
Starting point is 00:36:09 Well, fucking I'm a dumb-dum. Well, but that also presupposes that nearly 50% of Netflix subscribers watch this movie in the first week it was out. Yeah, I don't buy that. Yeah, which is insane numbers, like... Maybe they just mean they all watch the trailer because it first week it was out. Yeah. I don't buy that. Yeah. Which is insane numbers. Like. Maybe they just mean they all watch the trailer because it started playing automatically for a while when you ever open to the uh, half on PlayStation. Netflix, Netflix. We all got it. We have a hundred and four million of us do, apparently. Like Katie. Alan. Want to go the rain space? I guess so. I'm having a hard time now.
Starting point is 00:36:46 I felt like I was more prepared for this than I feel now. Won't you go and I'll figure it out while you're talking, which means I will not be listening to you. One moment. Just kidding. Uh, do the dupe-do. I did not like this movie. I can see that. I was really bummed on it and I felt like it was just a reducs of the happening like caged up as something else and it was like no. Maybe the book's good. I've heard the book is much better than the movie.
Starting point is 00:37:19 But I felt like this movie has so much hype and it is not good. Three. Wow. Did you go into it expecting it to be good? Yes. Oh that's a bummer. I really like I was like oh this is like I legit thought like oh Sandra Bullock got on board to this movie it's probably gonna be pretty fucking good. Yeah. I did not like it at all. I did not like it. I did not like it at all. I can't remember what I gave it less to the three. I. the. the. th. th. th. th. to. to. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. this. this. this. this. this. this. this. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. this th. th. this. this. this. this. this. this. this. this. this. this. this. this. this. this. this. this. this. this. this. this. this. this. this. this. this. this. this. this. at all. I can't remember what I gave the happening, but I don't, I'm sure I gave it less than a three. I thought you gave it a three if I had to guess. Where's Emily? Emily? What about you? I liked it more than you did.
Starting point is 00:37:56 Yeah. The only hole that I had really poked in it before, because I watched it last night and then like immediately went to bed and didn't think about it again until I got here, as all good professionals do with their craft. I don't know. The only whole I had really thought about was not even a hole, but I was just like, why didn't the people who escaped want to kill themselves when they saw it? Like what was happening? that was different? And also it's the happening, I guess I I I all those things. I think I really connected
Starting point is 00:38:26 to the idea of like a badass mother who does what she has to do as opposed to being the reason a kid is super fucked up. Sure. Or like being as so many, especially in the 80s films that we've done, the mother is just literally there to be standing in the kitchen to have a conversation with the kids who are the, you know what I mean? Like, yeah, yeah, yeah. Just there to like nag. I don't know. I really, I, and I think being a mother has really changed my perspective on horror in a lot of ways that make me mad. Yeah, yeah, I'm mad. Yeah, would you've got a whole new perspective on everything? Right, it's all, and I'm so sick of being told that I'm going to fuck up my kid just by existing.
Starting point is 00:39:14 Right. And that she'll probably become a serial killer. Although statistically she's not that likely because she's a girl. No, she got three names? The middle one Lee. She has three names, yeah. I mean she's a middle name, is that what you mean? Are you saying because I gave her a middle name? It was the middle names not Lee, you're probably all right. There's a lot of Lees that are serial killers. It's Lee. It's Ted Bundy Lee. It's Lucy, John Wayne Gacy, my last name. That's why she answers to Hey Clown.
Starting point is 00:39:46 Now you have to leave that part in. Oh, fuck me. I, you know what? Yeah. I'm gonna give it as five and a half. Okay. That's where I'm at. Okay. Yeah. I really feel like I drug you down. You did. You ruined it for me. I was never gonna watch it again though, so whatever.
Starting point is 00:40:07 Yeah, oh yeah, it's a, yeah. I feel like this is much like, though you didn't see it, like, hereditary keeps coming up as it's a just for me. I'm like, I'm not a mean movie. Like, that's a mean movie. Yeah, that, that, that, that's, that's, that's, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, it, oh, it, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, it, oh, oh, it, it, it, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, it, oh, oh, it, oh, it, oh, it, it, oh, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, it, yeah, yeah, it, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, it, yeah, yeah, it, it, yeah, that, that, that, that, that's a. Yeah, that's a. Yeah, that's a. Yeah, that's a. Yeah, that's a. Yeah, that's a. The last five minutes were like, we're not a mean movie, we're not a mean movie. Yeah, hug those babies. Hug those babies and give them a name. Yeah, I think my problem is that like I want, I want that tough love of like, you. Like, you have to fucking survive and it's going to be hard. But I'm doing it because I'm doing it because thau thau th. th. th. th. th. th. th th th th that she th th th that she th that th th th th th th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. tho's tho's tho's thus thus. thus. tho's th. th. those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those th. th. th. th. th. th. thus. thus. thus. thus. thus. thoooooooooooooooooooooooo's. thogu. thogu. thoooo's th. th. th. those th. I want that, I want like, and from Sandra Bullock, I wanted that little bit of like, but I love you guys. I want you to know that I love you. And like I didn't like that she was just shitty to them. But yeah, see, I think that's what was making me so tense was that she was, she just had no faith that they would survive. Right. That's where babies you birthed. Yeah, bumb. Bum. Yeah, bum.
Starting point is 00:41:06 Yeah, bum. That's where babies come from. Yeah, bum. Um. And up until the point that, ah, fuck, I don't even know why I'm bringing this up. No, what, come on. And up until the point that she was trying to decide whether someone was going to look
Starting point is 00:41:25 on the river, she didn't seem to be treating her son any better than the girl that she adopted. No, it wasn't like a favoritism thing. She just didn't believe either of them would live. To the point of where I was like, oh I don't remember which one is actually her kid. Oh, it's the boy. It's boy. Oh, it's the boy. Oh, it's boy. Oh, it's boy. Oh, it's boy. Oh, it's boy. Oh, it's boy. Oh, it's boy. Oh, it's boy. Oh, it's boy. Oh, it's boy. the boy. the boy. the boy. the boy. Oh, it's boy. Oh, it's boy. Oh, it's boy. the boy. the boy. Oh, it's, it's, it's the boy. the boy. the boy. the boy. the boy. the boy. the boy. the boy. the boy. the boy. the boy. the boy. the boy. the boy. Oh, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's. Oh, it's the boy. Oh, it's boy. Oh, it's boy. Oh, it's boy. Oh, it's boy. Oh, it's boy. Oh, it's boy. the boy. the boy. the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. the th. the th. the th. the the the the the the the the the the boy. the boy. the the girl is making crying face and I want to die. So it's the little... Did the little toy affect you in any way? It makes you so sad. That she gave to Olympia and said you're going to give this to your daughter. And then it comes to a little girl holding in. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, that's like. Yeah. That's Bird bummer? Bird bummer.
Starting point is 00:42:06 Yeah bum bum. Let's call it ya bum bum. I think because of the holiday season, we haven't gotten much in the way of mail bags. These fuckers aren't sending us Christmas cards. Yeah, guys. Just because you don't have our address. Just because we've denied you our address on a number of occasions. But people have been reaching out via Twitter and stuff and just, you know, commenting
Starting point is 00:42:28 on things and I really appreciate that. Yeah, good to hear from you guys. I hope you all had a good holiday season. Yeah. I hope you did not find yourselves blindfolded on a river with children that may or not. And I just want to put this out there. Don't do it. Don't do it. It's like ghost riding the whip. You know what I mean? Remember ghost riding the whip? Fuck I do it all the time. Well, your car's so cool.
Starting point is 00:42:50 What's that a MIA video where she's in like the Middle East and people are driving cars around, it's fucking insane? Oh, the, um, paper planes. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Can we do that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. No, not that one. Whether it's rum shakers anyway, which is what I devolved into. It's the one where her chain is banging against the dashboard? I don't know. My chain is my chest when I'm banging on the radio. Is it, or is her neck so icy she got chill bumps? I tell, that chain so icy I got chill bumps on my neck?
Starting point is 00:43:27 That's fabulous from Cantonine. Oh, do you want to do a movie next week? I guess so. Do you want to do a classic that I definitely thought we had done and we've never done? Is it rare exports? No, I think I'm losing my marbles on this podcast. I'm not remembering anything anymore. We've done so many. As far as I know, we've done them all.
Starting point is 00:43:48 And Netflix has to make a new one for us to be able to do another episode. We're counting on you, Netflix to make more content for us. I mean, someone has to do it. Now, Freak-a-leek was the song. Let's do a Toby Hooper movie. Okay, he's dead. He is. It's not funny. I love you.
Starting point is 00:44:12 Let's do Poltergeist. Yeah, coach. Yeah, I have so many feelings about this movie. Oh boy. Oh, brother. Should we drop on on what we're going to do right now? Yeah, go for it. We're going to do right now? Yeah, go for it. We're going to do a two-fur.
Starting point is 00:44:26 Two-fur. It's going to be Gouli, not Gouli's, it's going to be a puppet master, one and then two. We're going to do two episodes, two movies, one, two watch them. Marathon them. Have fun with your friends. Yeah. like every other episode. I feel like we're gonna up the ante from just getting drunk on an episode, maybe we could skydive? Should we... I don't want to do that at all? You want to scuba dive and get the bends and then quickly do the episode before we
Starting point is 00:44:54 die? Can we just listen to the bends by Radiohead? I hate Radiohead. What? What? It's just one of those things. Yeah, just not a fan? And people are like, it's like radio. Gug, g-gah.
Starting point is 00:45:11 Is it a, I hate it because everybody else likes it sort of thing? It's then I don't like the music and everyone likes it so much. Yeah. All right, I got you. So next week we're ta. the band Tool, who I also hate. Tools one of those bands that people are like, oh you just don't get it. No, I fucking get it, guy. I get it. Stupid and bad. Don't tell me about Maineard. Tools one of those bands that like I feel like people are like, I'm

Well, that's a thing being bird box. Are they blooming in a box and I had to scream when I saw a monster? It was awful. Honestly, there's poor birds. And then some kids try to drown me.
Starting point is 00:46:30 No, those kids are dicks. Just holding your little bird head underwater. Do you ever have birds? Yeah, I did. Oh, nice. and a cockatiel named Bianca. That is adorable. Yeah. I was- A lot of animals growing up. Oh, me too. Like most trashy white people.
Starting point is 00:46:49 Me too. Yeah. I was very central bullock and then we'll end after this. I had three birds. They were named bird one, bird two and bird three. No, you didn't. Why are you a sociopath? Alan, John Wayne Gacy, his last name. Uh, by shirts, you know how to do it? Yeah, just, we gotta go.
Starting point is 00:47:09 Thanks for listening to another episode of Wear-Off Ambulance. Bye. Bye. you know the true to you
