Werewolf Ambulance: A Horror Movie Comedy Podcast - Episode 229- Army of Darkness (1993)

Episode Date: May 20, 2019

In this week's episode, we are going deep into the sequels of a different franchise with the third (fourth?) installment of the "Evil Dead" films, "Army of Darkness." Special topics for your considera...tion include: how bad fans can make a film franchise go bad, how bad movie etiquette can make a friendship go bad, some very topical "Game of Thrones" talk (no spoilers obvs, we don't watch that show), medicinal film enhancement and hunky hunky Bruce Campbell. Like horror comedies? We've covered a bunch, but you could start some of our favorites: Episode 126- "Cabin in the Woods," Episode 140- "Killer Klowns from Outer Space" or Episode 160- "Shaun of the Dead." Starting point is 00:00:00 I think we're just having the most, I think we're both super high conversation that I've had sober in a really long time. Yeah. Where does hair come from? Is it just under your skin? Is this our intro? I remember thinking at one point of my life that maybe we're just full of hair. Yeah, just bags of hair because it's got to come from somewhere and at some point you stop getting new hair, right? You just run out? Yeah. It's like why old men don't have hair on their legs, right? They just ran out. Yeah, they're hollow in the thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. theeeeee. theeeeee. theee. thee. thi. thi. That's the intro you had?
Starting point is 00:00:54 You said you had an intro. I didn't, but we went with it. Great. People who don't like banter. Who doesn't like banter? I don't know. I don't know. I'm tuning into a podcast and I don't like banter. Just tell me the facts about this film. Oh, we are not the fact cast. Oh, no, I guess they should know that.
Starting point is 00:01:12 This is episode 4,000. We are one episode. We are one intentions of stopping. I think we always have to. Yeah. Our first podcast was about the Bible. And then, while it was being written. Well, I mean, you have to look at it from a contemporary view, is how I feel. Speaking of time travel. Very good. Thank you. That was a great intro. What if that was just the cold open. Speaking of time time time time time time time time time time time time time time time time time time time. the the the the the time. the the time. the the the the the the the th. the th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. Speaking of time travel. We're doing Army of Darkness. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:50 Sam Ramey. The lovely, intelligent Bruce Campbell. And your friend in mine from the 13th ghost episode. Yeah. We made so much fun of her name in that episode, and I kind of feel bad about it. Yeah, yeah, I think I might have said it's a bad Scrabble Hand. Oh, it is. I think this was her first film.
Starting point is 00:02:12 Oh, really? Yeah. She's the fresh face little baby. Yeah. And then I guess she was in like Shinler's List in 13 ghosts. And thi thirty ghosts. And th, I I I I I th, I th, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I th, I th, I thi, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I thia thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I th, I th, I th, I th, I was th, I was th, I was th, I was th, I was th, I was th, I was th, I was th, I was th, I was th, I was th, I was th, I th. I don't even know how you go from Schindler's List to 13 Ghosts, but- I mean that step up? Yeah. I was going to say they both had Liam Neeson, but that was the haunting of Hill House that had Leans. Oh my God, we need to stop talk anybody's ever said and everybody just like wanted to lynch that poor, I don't know, that poor man. He's certainly not a poor man but just like guys let's just all... Everyone just take a step back. Just breathe.
Starting point is 00:02:56 Just breathe. We all just breathe. Once again can we just shut the internet down for like a week? Honestly we could all have such a good vacation. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the the the the the the the the the the the the the. the. the. the. the the. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the. the. the the the the the the the the the the the th. the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. Honestly, we could all have such a good vacation. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That way we could just fart without having to film it and put it on YouTube or whatever people are doing these days. That's what Screform was about, right? Basically, that's a scream for anyone who didn't listen to last week's episode.
Starting point is 00:03:16 So this is the that was like the precursor to Evil Dead. Okay. One. Fortunately the beginning of this film sums up the previous movies for you. Which I do love a summation. It's very last time on Evil Dead. Yeah. And I love the whole thing that's in, I think it's in all the movies of the Tom Sullivan drawn, Necron, flipping through and spinning and... Yeah. I just love that little bit of animation, I think it looks fan. There's so many things in this movie that are just like, oh man, I love Evil Dead too.
Starting point is 00:03:54 So you and I have never really talked about this franchise. So you love those, you love these movies. I like I like like like evil the evil like evil like evil like evil like evil like evil like evil like evil like evil like love Evil Dead too. Okay, is that why you asked if we could do that instead? And I said, we're doing Army of Darkness? I don't know why. I thought, I don't know what I was thinking. Fonzie's. Sure. Yeah. Yeah. But what are your, what is your take on the Evil Dead franchise? So I have only ever seen the first time I'd seen an army of darkness because I saw evil dead, I feel like people who are into evil dead tend to be like really
Starting point is 00:04:29 into evil dead or at the time. Sure. Yeah. And, um, or you know, earlier in life I should say. Yeah. And I was like in high school, seeing a guy who was real into evil dead and his friends were all real into evil dead and we like watched evil dead and then when he decided he didn't like me anymore I decided I didn't like evil dead anymore. Oh you broke up with evil dead. I broke up with evil dead. Probably a mistake in retrospect for him and for me. Sure. Yeah but I had a very tarnished image of this film as being for someone who's an asshole. Okay, okay. A real Pantera of horror movies. Yeah, a Pantera of horror movies.
Starting point is 00:05:10 Sorry all the Pantera fans out there. You know who loves Pantera? My brother. I know. Real asshole. You know what, Pantera kids listen to when they're stoned? Pantara. I had to, I broke up with Pantera in the last few years. Did you? Yeah, because Missy loves Pantera and she dumped you?
Starting point is 00:05:30 No, because Phil Ansema was a white supremacists. Yeah, that's you. Also Missy didn't dump Alan, don't keep your panties on ladies. Evil Dead is more of a straightforward horror movie with some comedic elements. Yeah. Evil Dead two is like the perfect hybrid of the two. It's very comedic but also very gory and violent and over the top. Okay. And I feel like this movie was like, well what if we went to the way slapstick end of everything? Okay. And kind of left the gory stuff behind. Sure. Yeah. I mean there's gore in it. I mean there's a blood volcano. There's a fountain of of of of of of of of of of of of of of of of of of of of of of the the then of then of then of the then of then of then of then of thin of tho. tho. tho. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the the the the the the the the the te te tooooooo-s. tea tea tea ty tea tea ty ty the the the the the the th behind Sure, yeah, I mean there's gore in it. I mean there's a blood volcano
Starting point is 00:06:06 There's a fountain of core so But uh, you like there's no like Eyeballs popping to each other people's mouths and like totally over the top like gross out stuff Well, this is clearly a movie and I don't know if the other two are like this because again I only ever saw the first evil day when I was like 17 Yeah, yeah. It's setting out to do a particular thing which is to make like really cool effects Sure and not not as so much of the plot evil dead and evil dead two are kind of the same movie just retold and They both do that they will take place in the cabin and like like evil dead was filmed for like $350,000.00.00. the like?? the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th.00. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I is is is is is is. I is. I is. I is. It is. It is th. It's is to is to is to. It's is to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the. the. the. the. the. th. $350,000. Okay. And Evil Dead 2 was filmed for $3.5 million. Oh, you can't make that jump without losing a little something, no? I think they actually, like, it gave them just enough of a budget to do the effects that they wanted to do.
Starting point is 00:06:56 Okay. Because the first one has like very simple, but like wonderful for that aspect. And this movie, well, thi th, like, thi thi thi thi they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thee. theeeeean. thean. to to to to to to to to to to that theeeee. the. the. the. the. 11.5 to make. Okay. And I don't feel like it's enough. No. To make this movie like they need a little bit more budget like. Interesting. Yeah. For the effects? For like just the whole like Game of Thrones aspect of the movie. I thought it was fucking great. I really did. I love I mean you know I love stop motion animation. Yeah. I love Ray Harry How's in all the that he wrought on this earth. Yeah. No. I. I. I. I. I to to make. I the the the the the th. I th. I th. I th. No. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. No. I th. No. I th. I th. I th. I to make to make. No. No. No. No. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. No. I th. No. No. No. I th. No. No. No. I'm. I'm. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I th. I th. I did. I love, I mean you know I love stop motion animation. You know I love Ray, Harry Housen and all the that he wrought on this earth. And so many things were so tributary to that like the harp, like there's the one flying creature is clearly the harpy from Jason and the Argonaut. And the skeletons, the sword fighting skeletons, I was like, this is like tipping its hat to something the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, th. And, th. th. thi. thi. th. thi. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi its hat to something that I absolutely love. And it's doing it in such a way that it's like, it doesn't look a whole, whole lot better than that movie?
Starting point is 00:07:48 Oh sure, for sure. I like that it's not like we're doing this and we're doing it better. It's like we're actually just doing this. I mean, this is wearing its influences on its sleeve. Yeah, I know that. It's about a Yankee soldier that goes back to King Arthur's court and has to like kind of fight for them and with them and. Mark Twainy. Yeah, he's a good guy.
Starting point is 00:08:12 Good guy. And I said that like he isn't. I really love Mark Twain. Yeah. Yeah, he's a good guy. God good, like philansoma. And like the Stooges, like there's like, oh yeah. Total routine, like the skeleton hands popping out and doing all the Stooges hand stuff.
Starting point is 00:08:32 Like the hand on your, the bridge of your nose to keep someone from poking you in the eyes. Yeah, like that's happening in this too. Yeah, like that's happening in th. In th. In th. In th. In th. In th. th. th. the th. th. T th. T th. T that's th. T that's thi's thi's thi's thi's thi, like, like, like, like, like, like, th. T. T. the. Thea, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, th. Yeah, thoooooooooooome. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, I love it. Also, is there like a little Monty Python in this too? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like the townspeople are just very like Monty Python extras in Holy Grail. Yeah, like that woman just eating the bread is like a street snack and she's just eating a whole loaf of bread. Yeah, that's hilarious. I love all the shitty mullets that everybody has too. I love how the, um, the king or whatever has those baby bangs and he, when he has a helmet
Starting point is 00:09:10 on he looks like he should be in like a boy band. And then he takes it off and he just goes full Billy Ray Cyrus. Yeah, it's a great look. I also like how medieval England is like very dusty. When was it a desert? I love that the wizard is not called Merlin. He's definitely Merlin. Yeah, oh yeah. What is his name? His, he has credited as a wise man. Oh, he's terrible. I think intentionally terrible. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, let's just take a moment and talk about Bruce Campbell.
Starting point is 00:09:49 Okay. He's a goddamn national treasure. Okay. In my opinion. I don't know anything about him other than this film and you know what I mean? Oh, okay. Okay. I mean, he, this, he is ash, right? Like he has not done other things, a thin' tha tha tha tha, tha, tha, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, too, too, to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, too. thi. thi. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta, too. ts a lot of other things or... He's a maniac cop. No. He is in this Lucky McKee movie called The Woods. He's in a ton of other stuff. He was a, what is it, Brisco County Junior? It's like a
Starting point is 00:10:14 Western TV show that he was the star of. I have heard of it. I have never seen it. The DVDs exist in this house if you open to lend them. I feel like like like, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to, th. to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, th, th, th, th, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. He, th. He, th. He, th. He, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, they. the, th. th. thi. th. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the, the, you want me to lend them to you. I feel like, or maybe that was young Indiana Jones that I laughed at, which I feel like they exist in the same universe. It's true. Yeah. He was on Zena. I mean, I had like a recurring character on Zena. He is, uh, Burn Notice, the TV show that no one you know has ever watched. Yeah, sounds like a USA Network. So he's like, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that that's, that that's like, that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that was like, that was like, that was like, that that that that that that that that that was like, that that was like, that was like, that was like, that was like, that was like, that was like, that was like, that was like, that was like, that was like, that that that that that that that that that that that that that that th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. the. thi. thi. thi. th. that thi. that that thi. that th like 15 seasons? Yeah. Sounds like a USA Network? Yeah. So he's like, he's that level of like famous. Okay. But I just like.
Starting point is 00:10:51 He's the best jaw. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. He's so like rugged movie star hands on. And then he also has like a very distinctive scar, which I like because it's like it's it's messing him up a little yeah dirties them up yeah I'm a little dirtier what his hair is also just fantastic in this movie yeah yeah but like he's just so good his comic timing is incredible yeah I agree with that and every time like he's on screen I'm a hundred percent of this movie the rest of it not so much? Tell me more. When is he not on screen? Well, whenever he's like full on Bruce Campbell. Like, okay, okay. When he's pulling faces and all that stuff.
Starting point is 00:11:34 Yeah. When he's saying things like, give me some sugar, honey or whatever? You like that? Do some sugar, baby? You like that? So, I saw this movie when it came out in 93? Uh, in the the theater? Uh-huh? Um, I? Do, th, th, th, that? Do, that? Do, that? Do, that? Do, that? Do, that? Do, that? Do, that? Do, that? Well, that? Well, that? Well, that? Well, that? Well, that? Well, that? Well, that? Well, that? W, that? Well, that? W, that? W, when that? W, when that? W, when? W, when? W, when? W, that? W, that? W, that? W, that? W, that? W, that? W, that? W, that? W, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. W, th. W, th. W, th? W, th? W, th. W, when? When, when? When, when? When, when? When, when the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the. the. the. the. the. the in 93, in the theater. I went with a guy that I was friends with him that time. Turns out he was a real asshole. Name names. It's all right. And during the movie, the scene where he can't remember the word, the guy that was with yelled the word out in the the scene. That's why he's not your friend anyone. Yeah. Not a good. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, that that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's th. th. that's th. th. th. that's th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that's th. that's that's that's that's that's that's that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that thi. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, that's that's thiiiiiii. thea thea thea. thea. thi. thi. thi. thi.. The guy that I was with yelled the word out. Oh no he's not your, that's why he's not your friend anyone. Yeah. Yeah. Not a good dude. No, no, that's a bad person.
Starting point is 00:12:09 You don't want to be that guy and you don't want to be friends with that guy. He's one of those people that thought like I'm funny because I'm loud. That's kind of my stick to to to be fair. You you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you're you're you you're you you're actually you're actually you're actually you're actually you're actually you're actually you're actually you're you're you're actually you're actually you're actually you're actually you're you're actually you're actually you're actually you're actually. You're you're you're you're you're to you're you're to you're you're you're you're you you're to to to you you're to to to to to to to to to you you you you're to you you you're to you you you're to you're to you're to you're to you're to to you're to. you're actually. You're actually. You're actually very very very very to to to to to th. You're actually very very to to to to to th. You're actually. You're actually very very. You're actually very. You're actually. You're actually. You're actually. You're actually. since saying it in 1993. Wow. Yeah. But you'd watch the other two since then. Yeah, yeah. I love Evil Dead too. And I was not a fan of this movie at the time. Really? I saw it in 1993. How? Well I guess we'll find out at the end. Yeah. All right. So so the premise is that Ash is that Ash is transported to medieval England. Yeah, 1300 AD or thereabouts. Yeah, where they have like bananas technology for the 14th century. And he is like a, fulfilling a prophecy basically by being there that they have to, he has to get the Necronomicon and remind me what he's doing with it. I was a little high.
Starting point is 00:13:08 So at the end of Evil Dead 2 he gets sucked through a vortex which looks very much like the vortex from the Monster Squad. And he ends up like in medieval England and like he's standing there with a chainsaw and it's very epic looking. So this kind of movie, this movie kind of picks up from that. Except that he's not exalted immediately. No, he gets thrown in the pit. The horrors of the pit where there's like a zombie that punches him in the face a bunch of times, which I loved.
Starting point is 00:13:37 I love a zombie punching you in the acrobatic fighting style of all of these zombies. Like just the one in the pit just flips at him so many times. Yeah, it's like a floor routine in NCAA gymnastics. There should have those ribbons. Yeah, that's rhythmic gymnastics. Oh, forgive me. It's a different sport. It can't be. It is, sir. So he's been set back in time, and in order to get back to his time, he has to get the necronomicon from the deadites in their cemetery.
Starting point is 00:14:17 Deadites are just undead basically? Yeah, yeah. And that's a premise that's introduced in the previous films. Deadites are, okay. Yeah, if I remember correctly. Okay. So, he has to get the Necronomic-on and that will have the spell and that can send him back to his time and it will also give them the upper hand and the fight against the deadites in this time. Right. And there's also like a little political infighting in fighting political political political political political political political political political political political political political political political political political political political political political political political political political political political political political political political political political political political political political political political political political in a political political political political political, a little, a little, a little, a little, a little, a little, a little political infighting where there's like a rival kingdom or something or like a, I don't understand it, it's fine, it doesn't matter. A different night gang is just all about stuff.
Starting point is 00:14:49 Yeah, but they also have like a military force, so cool, cool. Cool. Did you like that Bridget Fonda was his girlfriend at the beginning in this movie? I really did. Did you like that he knew how to ride a horse? Of course. Why would you know how to ride a horse? A friend of mine got so bugged out the other day because I said I've never touched a horse. Why the fuck would you? She loves horses. And I was like, yeah, we have like this understanding that I'll never go near them and they'll never come near me.
Starting point is 00:15:18 You think you can trust a horse with with a deal deal deal deal deal deal deal deal deal deal deal deal deal deal deal the deal deal the deal the deal their the deal the deal deal the your back on a horse, you're dead. It honestly saddens me then and all the time we've been friends you have not learned that. Me? Yes, you can't turn your back on a horse? You never trust a horse? I just told you I'm getting nowhere near a horse. It eats you. It got spooked, oh it ate you. Ah, it's so fucked. Soulful eyes. I'm sorry, tell me about your friend, who loves horses? She loves horses and she was just blown away that I've never touched a horse. And I was like, I have the same relationship with cows. I'm not touching a cow. See a cow I'll touch.
Starting point is 00:15:54 I'll tough. Go hang on over there. to just every, dawned on. Pigs are very nice animals. Very smart, very sweet, very loyal, very clean. Yeah, pigs and I are gonna hang out. Yeah. They'll eat you. Speaking of animals that will eat you. No, no, no. Just a pig.
Starting point is 00:16:10 I mean, it will eat you after you're dead probably. Oh, sure. So, Glenn, and I have to like let him live in He's close. You know close is not... This is not horseshoes, hand grenades and litter boxes as they say. So yes he knows how to ride a horse. He also knows like fucking chemistry and because he has textbooks in the truck of his car. Right. When you were pointing out the technology I was, it would remind me that I was reading the like goofs in this movie on IMDV which I, which I don't know.. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't the the the the the to to to to to to to to to to the to to to to to to the to to to to to to to to to to to the the the the to to to to to to the to to the the the the to to to to to the to the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the their their their their their they they they they they they they they. g. g. they. they. they. th. th. th. Hea. Hea. Hea. te. te. tr. te. te. te. te. te. things. things. to. He. He. He. He. He. When you were pointing out the technology, I was, it reminded me that I was reading the like goofs in this movie on IMDV, which I don't know why I do it to myself because I just get angry. You do it every time, though, I do? Yeah. And one of the goofs was, the bolts that are on the pit actually didn't exist in 1300, so... Well, I can't do can't... You can't do that.
Starting point is 00:17:06 But it's like... You mean this movie where a man was shot back in time by a magical book? That's the one that you're... That's the thing that you're... Okay. Okay, that's what's up? Yeah. That took you out of this movie. I mean, like, how can you even? Oh, can you imagine if you had nothing the fuck else to worry about?
Starting point is 00:17:26 Can you imagine if you were just so miserable? That's a really miserable thing to do. Yeah, you're not a good person. Your friends don't like you. Speaking of kitty litter, is that desert made of kitty litter? Because when he falls out of the ground, it looks like he's covered in a kitty? Doesn't I didn't notice it, I didn't it's England. Why is it a desert? I just want to be very clear on that. Not a very dry area, the UK in general.
Starting point is 00:17:52 You don't think of the arid when you think of the... You know what I love is the Little Ashes, which is very like gullivers, and also very willow? They're like thatvels. Yeah, yeah. And also very willow, like the, they're like the brownies from Willow. Sure. I liked that a lot. I thought they were adorable and terrible. They were giving me a little bit of gate vibe as well. Yeah, all three movies, movies are that are great. Uh-huh. Yeah. So yeah, he's told he has to go get the the Bible so he rides off. the the. Yeah, the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. they they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're they're they're they were they were they were they were they were they were. they were. they were. they were. they were. they were. they were. they were. they were. they were. they were. they were. they were. they were. they were. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. And she's D.T. Make out. I also love that her name is Sheila. For some reason. Why is it she's hilarious to me.
Starting point is 00:18:33 And she's like mad at him at the beginning and I don't remember why? But she like, it doesn't matter why I don't. She thinks he's a demon. He probably is. And inks he's a demon. He probably is. And then he's a demon, if you know what I mean. Who I don't. Wink-wink demon. Is that intimacy being a demon?
Starting point is 00:18:52 He makes a cyborg arm, which I like. Yeah, with that 14th century technology. And it's so good. It's so ruffy and adorable. It's puffy and adorable and also functions perfectly. Like in a way that prosthetics don't now. So like, oh, that technology wasn't available then. So he goes on a quest. He does. He goes on a quest to find the Necronomicon. And he's told by the wizard that he needs to say these three words.
Starting point is 00:19:21 Which are? I thought you're going to to to to to to to to to to say these three words. Which are? Oh, I thought you were going to tell me. Oh, no, it's a Klatu Verada, Niktu. Yeah, I didn't know that. Say I forgot him, because I don't need to remember them. And fun fact about them, they are the words that you have to say to get the alien to stop destroying earth in the day the earth stood still still 50 50 the the the's like a cute little nod to that as well. How is this movie doing so many great nods to things and Screform was just like shoving it up everyone's ass. Because this movie was like hey I like this and Screform was like whatever. That's fair. Screform. So as he's going, yeah when he goes to the windmill, he's being chased by a demon. That's that that.. th. th. that. th. th. that. the the that. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the th. th. th. th. th. th. Starting point is 00:20:07 that POV shot of the demon flying after him is in all the other movies. Oh, okay. And so that was like, oh, yay, the demon's back. Yeah. Was that the heartbeat? The thing that I thought was a heartbeat? No, that you never see what that demon is. It's like like that that that that you that you that you that you that you that you that you that you that you that you that you that you that you that you that you that you that you that you that you that you that you that you that you that you that that that that that that that that that's that you that that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that that that. that that that that that. that that that that that. that that. that that that that. that. that the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th.o.o. the the the the the the the that.o.o. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that demon is. Oh, okay, okay. It's like an essence. That floods, that's what like inhabits bad-ash.
Starting point is 00:20:28 I see. I like bad-ash a lot. That's what I mean about him being such a good fucking comedic actor when he's talking shit to himself. Yeah. Like the fact that he was doing that with not another person. Right. Yeah, right. Yeah, right. I like this drill sergeant persona as badass too where he's just like being so shitty to the skeleton
Starting point is 00:20:49 soldiers, you know. I also liked him peeling his own face off of a hot stove with a spatula. Yes, I liked that a lot. What the fuck? No, it's good. Just ran off. Yeah, he smashes a mirror. The mirror bits become tiny hymn. I like that a lot where you saw his reflection in each of the mirrors and then they like sort of jumped up. I thought that was great. And that was a great visual effect of like obviously they were coming through doorways that were like stood up but like they were laying down on the floor in the
Starting point is 00:21:21 actual image. It looked right. Yeah. I didn't taken taken taken tak. I tak. I taken tak. I was taken tak. I was took took took took took took took took took took took. I was tha. tha. tha. tha. the the their th. their thoes. their their thoes. th. th. thoes. th. th. th. they. they. they. they. th. they. th. I. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I didn't take a ton of notes to this movie. I was like, I'm just gonna watch this movie. Just immerse yourself like a warm bath. Mm-hmm. When he finds an Echronomicon, there are three books. Yes. Which I'm sure is a reference to something.
Starting point is 00:21:35 I don't know. that sucks him inside the book. I liked that a lot. And he comes out and then he has a real long face that he has to shake. Yeah. It's funny. And it looks great. Yeah, it does. It gets progressively smaller. It's great. The second one just bites him and attacks him and flies around him.
Starting point is 00:21:57 And then the third one is the book, and he has to say the magic words to get it and he can't remember it. So he goes, Claudeau, vera. Ugh! That's funny though, too. I guess. Because he does that, he conjures the army of hell. Yeah, so they have like no real motivation, the sentient undead army. Like, what are they trying to do? Just eradicate all human life.
Starting point is 00:22:18 What for? For to the same thing that all these armies of hell want to do and they just want to kill all humans so that they can reign supreme. They really want earth that badly? Sure, it's like the nightwalkers in a game of thrones. I don't know what that means. They're these. What is game of, say it again? Game of thrones? Game of thrones. Okay. Is that like a movie? A movie? thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thrown. thrown. th. th. th. th. thro. thro. thrown. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. thr- thro. thr- thr- thr- thr- thro. thrown. thrown. thrown. thrown. thrown. thrown. thrown. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. th. th. thrones. Okay is that like a movie? It's a TV show. Oh on HBO. People like it are pretty popular? As far as I can tell people are just hate watching it at this point. Really? Yeah. Because they've watched seven or eight other seasons and now they're just like mm-mm we're doing this. Come on. The last episode had a Starbucks cup that was left on a table that's in a shot. You're kidding. In old time, medieval? No. the. Yeah. Yeah. the. the. Yeah. the. Yeah. the. the. Yeah. the. Yeah. the. Yeah. the. Yeah. the. the. Yeah. Yeah. the. Yeah. the. Yeah. Yeah. the. Yeah. the. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the. Yeah. the. Yeah. the. Yeah. Yeah. the. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah............................................................................. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. on a table that's in a shot. You're kidding.
Starting point is 00:23:05 In old time, medieval times. No, you're joking. No, I'm not. Oh my god. If people are losing their fucking minds over it. I mean, that's very poor attention to detail. Also, isn't that whole thing C-Gi? Could they have just've seen your Microsoft Paint. I'm an expert at Microsoft Paint. I'm not an expert at, what's the name of the show again?
Starting point is 00:23:27 You could just call it Got? Got. Game of Thrones. Okay, that's easier for me, thank you. It's written my George Railroad Martin. Oh, people love him. They're very happy with the supposed to be funny what they're doing? It's topical humor.
Starting point is 00:23:48 You guys don't get it? You don't like it? Too bad. We're going to talk about it for longer. So, all hell breaks loose, literally. Right. The evil ash that he had hacked apart with a chainsaw and buried. Comes back with the Ray Harry Housen Skeleton Army. I love them so much. I like can't. Maybe it's just the reference in this favorite movie, but I love them so much. Yeah. And they're done like super well. And they're always laughing. They're just so joyful. Such dickheads. They're very funny. I like the version of demons in this movie is just like the impish, like, fuck you.
Starting point is 00:24:29 Yeah. They're not like, nah. They're not bloody, they're not gory. They're just like, yeah. They're just dicks. And I also, an image, a series of images that I really like in this movie is the skeleton marching band. I tha.
Starting point is 00:24:43 I they they they they they are they are they are they are they are they are they are they are they are they are they are their their they're their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their think they are fabulous. I really do. I genuinely do. I love that they go through like iterations to where you get the three Scotsman with bagpipes. Yeah. And they still have pears. Yeah, I thought it was great. It's so silly. There's all kinds of like skeleton puns too, like I got a bone to pick. All right. I'm here. I'm here for it. So the skeleton army steals Sheila with the heart, the aforementioned harpy. Oh right, that's where the heartbeat comes in. And I love the giant head on the harpy too. It was so creepy looking. For sure. Steels her, turns her into a demon. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:21 No. It's gross, I think. Sure. She's definitely fucking the, that bad ash, right.. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that, th. that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, she's that, she's that's that's thi-s. thi-s. Sish she's si-s, she's si-s she's she's she's she's si-s she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi-s. thi-s. Sish. thi-s. thi-s. S-s. S-s. S-s. S-s. S-s. S-s. S-s. S-s. S-s. Skieded. S-s. S-s. S-s. S-s. S-s. S-s. S-s, I think. Sure. She's definitely fucking the, that bad-ash, right? Yeah, and not, not willfully. Yeah, it's bad. It's a bad scene. It's not good. Because they're also leading like other women in chains to the skeletons.
Starting point is 00:25:38 Yeah, it's not great. Yeah. What year is this? the thirty. Yeah. What year is this? 93? Okay. Filmed in 91, released in 93. It was shelled for like a year because, uh, D'Lorentes was trying to get the rights to Hannibal from Universal. And Universal was like, no, you can't know it for a year, and then, yeah, and then, so, like, they were all pissed off because they're trying to get this movie and the producer is holding it up over rights for something else.
Starting point is 00:26:06 I see. Apparently Bruce Gamble has like a lot of ill will towards the production end of this movie. Oh, interesting. Whatever, it's not going to stop him from being ash everywhere he goes I feel. It's true. And isn't there a television show show. No, he was. It was him like now. It was him like X amount of years later. He's still working at Smart and all the demons come back. Is he still handsome? Yeah, good. Older man handsome. Isn't it nice how men get more handsome as they get older. We just shrivel up and die.
Starting point is 00:26:36 Shrivel up and no one looks at us until we're dead. What is it the Amy Schumer bit about the last fuckable day? Oh, I don't know. I don't know that. Yeah, it's a really funny bit of like Julia Louis Dreyfus. Yeah, yeah. Is like, oh, this is my last fuckable day. This is the last day that like Hollywood will find me fuckable and hire me to do things. She's so fucking funny. controversial opinion I guess. Yeah, Ash has to like, he really wants to go back to his time and then when he, Sheila gets stole, he's like, oh no, I gotta be the guy who leads in these armies.
Starting point is 00:27:12 He's very pompous. I don't know if we've gotten, he's at home well enough. Which is weird because he's just a guy who works in a department store? He's a schlub. Yeah, like, why is he like, why is like, why is like, why is like, why is like, why is he like this? I don't know, because he can actually do everything that he's setting out to do. Like, he can actually do all the chemistry. Like, he made that, like, hand for himself. Like, even in like, in Evil Dead, when his hand gets, uh, like, his hand turns into a demon and attacks him and there's this hilarious, like, slapstick, he cuts his own hand off, and that's why he has he's................ the the the the the he. he. the the he. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. he. he. he. he. he. he. he. he. th. thi. he. he. he. he. he. he. he. he. he. he. he. he. he. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to. to. to. to. to. he. he. he. he. he. he. he. th. he. cuts his own hand off and that's why he has that chainsaw because he makes that rig for himself.
Starting point is 00:27:47 But yeah, but he's also a pain in the ass and like to stuff like giving some sugar baby. And then there's this big fight. And I love it. I have a small reveal for this. Oh. I may have fallen asleep for a little while during the fight. . three-minute movie. But as I watched it right after I watched Scraform. Why did you do that? Because that's the time I had to do this.
Starting point is 00:28:07 You were like, let me set aside four plus hours to watch both of these movies. And make dinner. So I dozed a little bit during the fight scene, but I don't feel like I really missed too much. No, I mean, it's good. It's funn. I was captivated. Okay, okay. I'm sorry to hear that you weren't. But, you know, who am I to judge someone for falling asleep during one of our movies and not rewinding?
Starting point is 00:28:28 So yeah, he wins the day. He gets sent back to his time by taking like a potion to send him back to the Nauseys. And the end of the movie is him in Smart explaining to someone how this happened. We'll explain it to Ted Ramey, Sam Ramey's brother, who plays two other characters earlier on. He's like townspeople or something, yeah. Yeah. And Sam Ramey is a towns person who's got like a night's helmet and a sweatshirt and sneakers on.
Starting point is 00:28:56 Isn't there a third Ramey too? Ivan, he also're pretty nice. That's good. They're nice. They're nice. They're nice. So yeah, and then while he's explaining this to Ted Ramey, a demon rips out of a lady. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:15 And starts kicking his ass. He grabs a shotgun, shoots the lady, and says, Hail to the king, baby. And makes out with a lady. Yeah, because he's a hero, I guess. And that is the end of Army of Darkness. Well, apparently there was actually an alternate ending that was canned. That was him drinking too much potion and going into a far-flung post-apocalyptic future. And they were like, no, that's sad. We don't want that. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the lady the lady. the lady. the lady. Yeah. the lady. the lady the lady. the lady th the lady the lady drinking too much potion and going into a far-flung post-apocalyptic future. And they were like, no, that's sad. We don't want that.
Starting point is 00:29:48 Well, there's four different cuts of this movie. OK. There's a European cut, the American cut, the director's cut, and then a television cut, which is actually the longest version of it. Interesting. Yeah, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is, it is a the the, it is the, it is the, it's the the thi. thi. the thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. theeeeee. the. thee. the. the. the. thoroooooooooo. it is. It's weird. Yeah. Because you figure out some of the stuff would have to get cut, like the sex slaves portion of it and... Yeah, I generally can't have sex slaves on cable in the 90s. Yeah. Do they have that on Game of Thrones? Is that right? Oh yeah. Yeah. I mean, it's, it's gross. There's sex stuff on game of throne. Oh, there are so many rapes in Game of Thrones that are like, there's no need for this
Starting point is 00:30:27 to be happening. No. Game of Throne, what are you doing? Come on, come on, come on, come on, railroad. So, Katie, would you like to rate Army of Darkness? I would. Would you like to go first? No, let's let you go first. Fine.
Starting point is 00:30:48 OK, so I don't have a lot of context for this, having only seen the first movie, you know, 22 years ago or something like that. Yeah. Well, not that long. Like 19. Okay. Regardless. Having never seen the second one, it sounds like you feel as though as tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho the tho the the tho the the tho the the tho tho the that, that, the that, to to, to, to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the to. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. to to to tothough this one is a little subpar compared to those, but to me, it's just fucking delightful.
Starting point is 00:31:08 Like I don't have those to be like, well, this is a less good version of those. I'm just like, oh, this is really fun and I had a lot of fun watching it. And it was like totally when I needed at the end of like a week day day, Have some of my special medicine that is for special people who need medicine It's a weed Just just like get a little stoned and watch this movie and just be like oh, it's so good It's so funny. It's such a good time and then it was over. It's 83 minutes. It was great. I loved it. I'm giving it a nine. Whoa, and I feel like people right now are like oh you don't see the other ones and like this one isn't as good, but like, I fucking watch this and
Starting point is 00:31:46 I really liked it so don't take it from me. Don't take it from me, I don't want to hear about it. All right. I mean you, because you send me those emails where you're like, you're gonna being critical of me. Whatever, can you. Do you notice that when women do men's voices, it's always like, me, me, me, me, me, we'll be, me, like, why do we, me? Like, why do we do that? I can't wait until you get a moment to your men be trying to like this portion. You know what, maybe there needs to your men be try than like this? You know what? Maybe there needs to be comedy like that.
Starting point is 00:32:28 I feel like it is. It's called the 80s. Oh, you men. But women didn't get to do it. It's true. This is not where I thought this episode would be going. I'm fe happy about it. I'm fainting confusion about Game of Thrones and talking about how men can't talk or drive.
Starting point is 00:32:51 Please save your emails. Oh no, they'll just prepare them for this. So I don't like this movie. Oh no! You didn't like it. Like, normally if I like start to doze, I will rewind a movie. And I was like, I don't want to do this. I don't know what it is about this movie.
Starting point is 00:33:13 It feels like it should tick all these boxes for me. Yeah. And there's just something about it that does not hit with me. Well, that's just something. thi something. thi something. thi something. the thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. tho. thi. thi. thi. thoom. thoom. thoom. thoom. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to thi it on some level. Oh, no. I mean, you like what you like. You don't like what you don't like. That's literally the premise of our show. People can like whatever they want, yeah. But like, I love Evil Dead too. I love Evil Dead too so much. But I feel like, I almost want ips a little bit too far into like the
Starting point is 00:33:45 slapsticky stuff sure and doesn't give me enough of like the gore end of it which I really love like there's a scene in evil that too where an entire wall is founting blood on him like just holes in a wall are shooting torrents of blood on him and it's fucking absurd okay that sounds right up your alley yeah exactly but this is not like, it oddly doesn't go absurd enough for a movie where a man has been shot back to the 13th century and has to give you some sugar maybe. It's the wrong kind of absurd it sounds like to you. Maybe, there's just something that's like a friend that I can't actually be friends with.
Starting point is 00:34:25 Like the guy who yelled in the movie theater, maybe that's why you don't like it. Maybe it's just a bad forever reference. Maybe. Yeah, yeah. That's probably not why. I mean, it's hard when a sequel of a movie takes what's good about the previous movies and eliminates it for you. you know. Yeah, I know I think like I mean I was in my teens when I saw evil dead. What is that? When was the first one? Like 80 86 or something? Okay, that's fair. That's close enough. Was that the first one? Yeah 81 87 92. Okay. So yeah I
Starting point is 00:34:54 would have seen I would have seen evil dead to probably in like 88 or 90 somewhere around there. Yeah. And I just never seen anything anything that was so silly. Yeah. So bloody and blah blah blah blah. And I don't know why this just doesn't hit for me and I was like maybe going back to what it's gone to and it didn't and I was like man. Yeah. That's okay. I'm gonna give it a five. Okay because I know that it's like it's good it's just not for me. That's fine. I'm so pumped that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's the the the the that's that's that's that that that that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's good. that's good. that's good. that's good. that's good. that's good. that's that's that's that's that's th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the th. the the the the the the the the th. the the the th. the the. It's good. th. It's good. that's good. It's good. that's good. It's good. It's that's good. Yeah, that's fine. I'm so pumped that you really loved it. I loved it. I'm going to watch the other ones now and not think about Jason. It was just like they were all so fucking into this movie, right? Like, like, yeah. I remember watching it with them and they were all just like yelling the lines along with it because they were just like. they were just like, they were just like, they're just like, the they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the other. the other. the other. the other. the other. the other. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. th. th. th. th. thi. th. th. th. thi. th. th. thi. th. th. th. th. th. Yeah. And then I was like, well, that's the thing was for stupid people because clearly he's too bad because he doesn't like thing. So, I mean, that is, that is stupid. Not to like you. I mean, I think he has a bunch of neck tattoos now. So. Just random neck tattoo. It's just like a pokey ball. Yeah. Do you say a pokimo. Yeah. Do you say a Pokemon. that. A poke. A poke. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that is. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I. Yeah. know. Yeah, catch them all. I don't know what you're saying. I'm sorry, is this on Game of Throne? Oh, it's not on Game of Throne.
Starting point is 00:36:09 So yeah, I will go back and I will watch the others. Yeah, I can't recommend Evil Dead, too, highly enough. And Evil Dead's great, but Evil Dead is too. So I don't need to see Evil Dead too. I don't think so, because much like this movie, there's... Yeah, I already saw this one. Because I know it ends. You could, it's fine. Yeah. I have limited time. You can even watch Equinox, which is the movie that Evil Dead is referencing.
Starting point is 00:36:34 Nightfall in Mark. No thanks. Katie. Who brought Jason here? This is my friend Jason. Why has he been in your attic all along? Can I take you to a little place that I like to call? A mailbag! I'm there, I'm ready. It's like listening to my friends, but with more tiddy bill.
Starting point is 00:36:54 Oh, who said that? This is Cosmic Dork who gave us a five-star review, and I do. I'd like to give the name Cosmic Dork also five stars. Funny, consistent. Oh. Mostly work safe content. Ooh. A, occasional casual swearing, but nothing that will get me fired. Oh my god, where are you? Where do you work? Where do you work?
Starting point is 00:37:17 Where the fuck do you work? Dicks? Where in the titty shit do you work? Wow. He's like titty shit enterprises actually. Also copyright your season to cisbladder. If you need a reference, get in touch. Yeah, you fired.
Starting point is 00:37:39 You guys are great and I look forward to each new horror movie review. Thanks for being awesome. Oh, thank you. Thank you for taking the time to say nice stuff about us. Thank you, Cosmic Dork. I have a question about consistent. Does he just mean we come out every week? I think we are consistently funny. Oh, there's some duds in there.
Starting point is 00:37:55 We were funny first and then consistent. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Alan. Can I read you another review from iTunes? Sure. A stupid, solid podcast. Hmm. I'm going to talk about the adjective stupid. Go on. Who's this from? This is from Jordan of House Mormont. Which is a Game of Thrones reference. Oh, Jordan, I'm so sorry we put this, your letter in this, uh, your letter? You didn't write us a letter? What am I talking about. Jordan I'm sorry. The weirdest correspondence ever. I know how did they find your house? It's a five-star review. That's important to know and thank you Jordan of Mormon. Mormon. Mormon? Mormon? Mormon. Alan and Katie are just really easy to listen and binge. Oh, if you like less serious approaches to movie talk this is it. Oh, that's really nice. Thank you. I feel like if th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th. thi, thi, thi, how the the the the the to movie talk, this is it. Starting point is 00:38:45 I feel like if you are into serious approaches to movie talk, this is definitely enough for you. No. Mm-hmm. Does he mean it's... Okay, stupid. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. He's not wrong on either way.
Starting point is 00:39:02 It's stupid. thoooo. I'm going the letter okay rather than the former. You think Jordan's got that hip kid lingo? Yeah that hip-hop lingo from 1995? Yeah I think that the oh that is stupid so yeah yeah not this is stupid solid. I feel like there would have been a combo since he put a period at the end of his opening. I guess in house Mormon. they teach you good good English tha thoooooooooo th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thoo. th. th. thi. that's that's th. that's that's that's that's th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. that's that's that's th. I don't think we get any Donald Sutherland but an invasion of the body snatchers which is a shame because he should just have his butt in all his movies. That that hyper realistic and weird sexy that's in that movie. Yeah. It's porny. But like in like a... In an intimate way, which I don't normally like...
Starting point is 00:40:29 Yeah. Just regular old fucking? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I think it's because we're in like the... Yeah, anyway.
