So the baddies are aliens who are basically being spread through this pod thing.

It's a little confusing. Yeah, yeah. These pods are the result of these flowers. If you touch the flower, you get potted. Although sometimes they seem to be just growing on their own. Oh, yeah, yeah, I guess so.
