Starting point is 00:00:25 So docket, huh? Yeah. Yeah. Two songs in this movie. Oh, one song twice. And then, and then Dream Warriors over the credits. Oh, that's also docken. Yeah. Yeah, you get into the fire twice. Yeah, you get into the fire twice. Yes. Yeah, the flashback scene when you get it the second time. It's true, but you hear it twice. I know you're excited. So. to. to. So. So. to. So. So. th. So. th. th. the fire twice. Yes. Would you what it is a flashback scene when you get it the second time? It's true, but you hear it twice. I know you're excited. I want to just talk about it at the top. I really loved that band back in the 80s. You don't love them anymore? I mean, they're fine. Like, I'm kind of out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out while there. I don't listen to Dawkin as much as I did when I was 13. Do you miss it?
Starting point is 00:00:47 No, I could go back. Do you think it would hold up? Yeah, yeah, I've gone back not too long. I mean, if you're in the mood for Dawkin, yeah. Dockin gives you exactly what you're looking for. That's a reasonable thing to say. All super confident musicians. Sure. They had a little bit of a harder edge than a lot of those, like poison type bands. Sure. They didn't do ballads. Do they?
Starting point is 00:01:10 Oh yeah, yeah. Oh yeah, for sure. What was like their big hit? Dream Warriors? Oh no, no, sirs. Yeah. It was, it was a big deal. thii. Yeah, this movie was a big deal. Oh, I mean it's got actors. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. One of my personal favorites is in this. Larry Fishburn? Larry Fishburn. Can I ask a question? Yes.
Starting point is 00:01:33 When did he become Lawrence? to the today? to Lawrence? After this movie. Boys in the Hood came out, which have been like two years later. Sure. Yeah, that sounds about right. Yeah. Yeah. I think going from Larry to Lawrence is a great move for him. For sure. Like Debbie Gibson. Deborah.
Starting point is 00:01:50 Debra, please have some perspective. Please. She's an adult now. Marcus Mark. Do you know that he was 16? 15 or 16 when he did apoclips now? I. Yeah, wow. So he's like 26 in this movie. Geez. You know, like he's like, yeah. He's still a young dude because he started so young. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:10 He's had such a long career. Yeah. And he's not on like a Stephen Root when he shows up in something, you're like, yeah. It like gives it some sort of almost like gravitas. this is a real fucking actor. Yeah. Unlike like Patricia th. th. th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thus thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi, thi, thi's thi's thi's thi's thi's thi's thi's thi's thii's thi's thi's thi's thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, th actor. Yeah. Unlike some of the other actors in this movie. Not Patricia Arquette, although she was still getting her legs under her, huh? In my memory, she was like the main star of this movie? Yeah. She's kind of not in
Starting point is 00:02:34 it a ton. Yeah, she doesn't have a lot of presents either, I feel. I like Patricia Arquette. Sure, who doesn't? But like some of the stuff, I mean, did you watch that Hulu show with the act where she is? No. Dede Blanchard, the woman who was like munch-housing her child, Gypsy Rose. She is really something in it, so. That sounds like something you would go a little extra for. You put a little, little...she's putting a lot extra. Yeah, yeah. So I guess what I'm saying is I appreciate that now she's putting in the effort, because it kind of felt like she wasn't in this movie.
Starting point is 00:03:06 It's true. There are some like, I think Terran is really great, the actress that plays Taren. But yeah, like some of the other ones are not quite up to snuff. What are we talking about? Oh, uh, and three. Yeah, only the odds. Boy, this is better than five. Holy Ghost.
Starting point is 00:03:31 I'm gonna come early on the podcast and make an apology for my review of one in episode four, Where the Wolf Ambulance. I came down a little hard on Freddy. Did you? For being Quippy? No? He's not that Quippy. No, he's scary. And in this one he's much quippier.
Starting point is 00:03:48 And I enjoy Quippy Freddie more than I thought I did. But to be fair, he's super quippy and the fifth one and you hated it. It's true. Like, this, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, this movie, this movie, this movie, this movie, this movie, this movie, this movie, this movie, this movie, this movie, this movie, this movie, this movie, this movie, this movie, this movie, this movie, this movie, this movie, this movie, the the the the th. the the the, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's he, he's. he, he's the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. he he he he movie was the one, like apparently two is not good, and West Craven was not involved in it. Yeah. And so this one he came back and he was like, cool, I'm killing the franchise. I don't want any more of these movies. Right, because Nancy dies at the end.
Starting point is 00:04:14 Right. And it's like, that's the end. She's dead. Yeah. But it did so well that they did so well. But... Monies? It's a slasher movie and we can bring everyone back for infinity. And they do. Yeah. Are they still making these? One was the last one? Not that long ago.
Starting point is 00:04:31 And what, they did? The New Nightmare? that's like 1994. Right. And then they rebooted with, uh, what's his face from Bad News Bears playing Freddy? I don't know what that means. I'll just leave that out there. Yeah. It wasn't good. I watched it.
Starting point is 00:04:52 Not even gonna look it up, honestly. It's fine. Yeah. I think they're still like, I think this like, what I love is because of this movie movie, because of number three, he was like on lunch boxes. Yeah, like th th th th the the the the the the th th. th th th th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi thi thi that that that that that that, that, that, that, that, that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's, I'll just, I'll just, I'll just, I'll just, I'll just, I thi, I thi, I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. thi. thi. thi. that that that tho. I'll thoooooo. I'll just, thoooooo. I'll just, th. I'll just, thooooo. I shit for kids. Yeah, like there was a TV show hosted by Freddy. Yeah. Totally inappropriate. I love it so much though.
Starting point is 00:05:11 He's a child predator. Oh yeah, yeah. A dead child predator. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. But yeah, I will say like, I remember in in, in episode four. And I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I to say, I to say, I to to to say, I to say, I'm to to-I to-I. I'm. I'm. I'm. I to-a. I to-a. Yeah. Yeah, I to. Yeah, I'm. Yeah, I'm. Yeah, I'm. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I to. I to. I to. I to. I to. I to. I to. I to. I to. I too. I th. I too. I too. I too. I too. I too. I too. I too. I to-I to-I to-I to-I to-I to-I to-I to-I to-I to-I to-I too. I too. in an episode four, and I think I was coming out a little hot in those early episodes where I'm like,
Starting point is 00:05:26 oh no, about horror, I'm a horror guy. I know, it took us some time to settle in. That's true, yeah. I had to realize that being fun is better than knowing stuff. Yeah. I think that's a good rule for life. Yeah, you don't have to show how much you know. No, nobody cares. Literally, nobody cares. That's why you'll sing this podcast, because we know literally nothing.
Starting point is 00:05:48 I said that he wasn't a top tier of like the Jason Michael. Oh, yeah, I think I disagreed with that. Yeah, you did. Yeah, everyone should. I was wrong. I'm gonna say it. I'm gonna be the better Fretty f better the better the better the better the better the better the better the better the better the better the I was wrong. Fortunately, like, nobody was listening to us back then to get confrontational about it. I remember there was pushback. It was some of the rare pushback early on about me being a dick about stuff. Oh damn. Which is fine, I should be told them I'm a dick. Well, speaking of opinions that are wrong, I kind of like New Nightmare. Did you see it? No. It's where Heather Langen Camp plays Heather Langen Camp and Freddy comes into the real world? Yeah. I like it. That's the movie they wanted, that West Craven wanted to do for this movie.
Starting point is 00:06:31 Gotcha. And the studio was like, dog. Yeah, wait seven years and then try again. Yeah. It's good. It's not good. I like it a lot. We should do it on this podcast. Sure. If only we had we had th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th the the the the the' the the' the the th th th th the the the' th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the thea. thea' theat to theat theat to theat theat theat theat theeeat theat theea. thea. the. the. the. this podcast. Sure. It's if only we had a vehicle to discuss movies like West Craven's A New Nightmare. So I could go back to not liking Freddie again? Yeah. And it's got the kid from a pet temperatary. Oh yeah. Okay. That little sailor suit. Gage. Oh God. I think it's that kid. It doesn't matter. I'm pretty sure it is. It doesn't fuck it. So this movie opens with a thing I th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi thi th. th. th. th. th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th th th th th th th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. th. th. the thee theeeeat thoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. I'm th. I th. I th. th. I th sure it is. It doesn't fuck it. So this movie opens with a thing I normally like to mock, which is a quote on a title card. But I like this one. I like that Poe quote and I think it's very well placed. For sure. Yeah. Did a little bit of research? Yeah. Not a Poe quote. Damn it! Damn it, West Craven! It's attributed to him. So in like 1987, there's no internet to look stuff up. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. to stuff. to stuff. to stuff. to stuff. to stuff stuff. to stuff. to stuff. to stuff stuff. to to to to to to to to to to to to to me me. to to to me. to to me. to me. to me. to th. thi. So, thi. So, th. So, th. So, th. So, thi. So, thi. So, thi. So, thi. So, thi. So, th. So, th. So, th. So, th. So, th. So, th. So, th. So, th. So, th. So, th. So, th. So, th. So, th. So, th. So, thi. So, thi. So, thi. So, thi. So, thi. So, thi. So, thi. So, this this this this this this this this this thi. So, thi. So, thi. So, thi. So, thi. So attributed to him. So in like 1987, there's no internet to look stuff up. When it's like nothing tastes as good as skinny feels Eleanor Roosevelt, and you're like, nah, that's fine. I'm pretty sure that's the Virgin Mary.
Starting point is 00:07:35 Oh yeah. She was very slim, even while pregnant. Eleanor Roosevelt. Everything gets attributed to Eleanor Roosevelt. That bitch didn't say shit. Just kidding. She was a wonderful woman and said a lot of good things. I love that you just-
Starting point is 00:07:49 Including. Nothing tastes as good to skinny feels. If anyone ever says that to you, they are not your friend. I know away from them right now. They've also never had an ice cream sandwich? It's fucking hot? Oh my god. So delightful.
Starting point is 00:08:07 It's also funny that you just said bitch because it's used to such effect in this movie. I think that's probably why I said it is because most of my notes are just like Freddie quotes saying bitch over and over. Have you ever seen the character Scary Terry from Rick and Morty? No, I'm never going to look at Rick and Morty. Is that okay? It's a 100% okay. It's a Freddy like character that just says bitch constantly. That's kind of funny. It's kind of funny. It's kind of funny. And like there's a sea where he goes home and his wife asked him how his day was and he calls her a bitch and she's like out there. their thou. their thii. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. th. th. th. thirty. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. to the. to the. the. the the the. the the the. the. the. thrererea. the. th. th. th. th like that in front of scary Brandon. I'm sorry. Scary Brandon. It's very funny. It's too comedic effect that he says like so much. When he writes, what does he come and get me, bitch on her stomach? For one brief and delightful second I thought he'd misspelled bitch and spelled a B-I-C-H and I was like, Freddie, you're a literate? And then I realized, no, it is me who was wrong. It was one delightful moment though. There was like a hesitation while he's carving it is T or C I can't. I never get this right. T before C except after D.
Starting point is 00:09:15 Oh scratching it out is sad. So Heather Langancapp is now a doctor of something. You know I was like man she's still a teenager I looked it up she's 23 which is now a doctor of something. You know, I was like, man, she's still a teenager. I looked at it up, she's 23, which is like a grad student age. She looks like a tiny baby, which I think is because we're so used to seeing people who are 25 play 15-year-olds, for it to see a 23 that we did the movie. Yeah. And there's a her Sister Dawn is in high school still and the actress is of high school age and everybody else is 35 and it looks absurd. That's absurd. She just looks she's at work. There's this girl who is making a paper machet house. the house.. Seems like a very normal thing to do. Sorry, go ahead.
Starting point is 00:10:06 A scary paper mache house. Oh, so she's got to thin out that glue. It's way too thick. Is that how you day coupage? Is that how you say that word? Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yes to both.
Starting point is 00:10:17 I've done paper mishay. Damn. I like to get spooky. Where are they? It turns out if you don't let them dry properly, they rot? Oh no. They were great on Halloween. Yeah. That's like a pumpkin. A little jacklanter. It's true. It's just for the day.
Starting point is 00:10:36 Unlike what Target want you to believe, too. Let it ride, babies. Anyway, so it's of Heather Lang and Camp's house. Yes, or Nancy Thompson, as she is known in character. Call her by her name. And Patricia Arquette freaks out and her mom is very nice and kind. No. No, mom's been out partying. Mom's kind of get short shrift in these movies. I feel like Wes Craven's got a mom problem. I. I. I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi's, thii. I thiiii. I'm thi. I'm thi, thi, thi,'s kind of get short shrift in these movies. I feel like West Craven's got a mom problem. I mean, look at Scream.
Starting point is 00:11:09 Sure. Yeah. I think even like Last House on the left, there's some weird mom stuff in that, too. Of all the weird stuff in there, I don't know how that movie ends. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:28 Yeah, it's fine. I don't need to know. Yeah, it's not for you. You know why? Because being fun is better than knowing things. So I don't need to know how that movie ends. If we don't put that a tote bag. I like, I can see it on a toat bag. Also, how do we not come up with that slogan during the Buffy the Vampire Slair episode? Oh my god, they didn't know anything.
Starting point is 00:11:49 So Patricia Hart has got to go to the psychiatric hospital where she meets up with a bunch of other kids who are also getting Freddied. Yes, because she falls asleep and we see her go into like the Freddy World Dream thing and he makes her slash her own wrist. Yeah. Which is how she ends up in the psychiatric hospital. This is one of those movies where everyone who's not heft to what's going on is actually doing the right thing. Like we have to sedate these children. We have to like help them, we have's actually happening, they're doing the exact opposite of what they should be doing, which is a really fun juxtaposition to like,
Starting point is 00:12:29 it makes it very tense for your, for the audience, you know. Right, like Neil genuinely cares for these kids and he genuinely wants them to be okay. Yeah, he should have also lost his job for fucking had the leg and gap. Oh yeah, well, they never explicitly fuck. The they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their. their. Yeah. Yeah, their. Yeah, their. Yeah, their. Yeah, their. Yeah, their. Yeah, their. Yeah, their. Yeah, their. Yeah, their. Yeah, their. Yeah, their. Yeah, their. Yeah, their. Yeah, their. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I. I. I. I th. I th. I th. I th. I've, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. Oh yeah, well, they never explicitly fuck. There's an implicit fucking. Oh yeah, they're definitely like having dinners and drinking wines. There's a lot of candles. Oh yeah. So there's like some fumbling under a blanket if nothing else.
Starting point is 00:12:58 You think there's heavy petting at the, uh, I don't remember what the institution is called. But also like no attention is paid to the fact that they all knew of this thing before they got there. Like why isn't anyone looking into that? I don't know how you would look into that, but like, why isn't anyone looking into it? I mean, as a people who could write psychiatric papers, so like, oh, we've got a group psychosis. Yeah, that's true th true th th true th th thru- thru- thru-I thru-I thu-I thu-I thu-I thu-I thi thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, like, like, like, like, like, like, thi, thi, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, the the they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they're they're they're they're they're thi, they're thi, they're thi, thi, that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that thi.. This is fascinating. Yeah, that's true.
Starting point is 00:13:25 They all think they're dreaming about the sweater boy. Sweater boy. Freddy's sweater boy Kruger, right? That's his name. I mean, one of the previous kids there, cut off his own eyelids to stay awake. It's not going to work. Also, like, you think you could get through th th th tho tho tho tho tho the tho tho the tho tho tho the tho tho their then do the other I don't think so. I'm doing both at the same time. And that's a very long pair of scissors. Oh man and they they are all a delightful
Starting point is 00:13:54 80s Motley crew unintended. I love them. Of kids that get together. This is a very nerd empowering movie. How do you mean? You've got the wizard master. You don't the to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the to the to the the the the the the the the the the the the the tha tha thoompoompoom. their the theateat. thoom thoom thoom thoom thoom thoom thoom tho tho tho them both both both both both both both both both both both both both both tho the the tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho the the thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu the the thu. thu. thu. thu thu thu thu thoooooooo you mean? You've got the Wizard Master. You don't need to wear a cape to be a dungeon master, but I just want to, I guess maybe for a wizard master you do. It helps. Uh, you've got Kincaid. Yeah. He's like, wants to be a tough guy, but obviously isn't, and then when he's in his dreams, Yeah. You've got Terran, who is my favorite because she becomes the punk rock lady.
Starting point is 00:14:26 Movie punk. I have a note that says, Terran is cool, and I realize that was 13-year-old me remembering her and going, Terran's cool. She is cool. She is cool. Yeah, yeah. And then the actress doesn't get anything. No, the blonde woman, no. And the marionette maker doesn't have any like superpowers in his dreams. No. His his. the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the p his p his p the p the p th. th. th. th, th, th, th, th punk. thupup. thupun th, th punk, th punk, th punk, th punk th punk thu thu thu th punk th th th th punk th th th punk th th thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th. No. And the marionette maker doesn't have any superpowers in his dreams. No, his puppets, why is he a puppet maker? Uh, you know. It's very like Charles Band. It's like baby Charles Band, don't you think?
Starting point is 00:14:56 I love that he's, yeah, I do for sure. Like I love that he's making them out of duct tape, too. He's not not allowed a a a not a allowed not a allowed not a that that he's not a that he's not a that he's not a that he's not a that he's not a lot that he's not a lot that he's not a lot that he's not a lot that he's not a lot that he's not that he's not that he's not that he's not that he's not that he's not that he's that he's that he's that he's that he's that he's that he's that he's that he's that he's that he's that he's that he's that he's that he's that he's that he's that he's that he's that he's not allowed to have any hard materials. And there's also a teenager who is mute but it turns out he actually isn't and at one point he has like a teardrop tattoo? Yeah where did it go? Where did it come from? Where did it come from tear drop tattoo? I was like oh he went mute because he saw someone he loved die and then got immediately got a tear drop tattoo and they went to... to to to to to the the the the same. to the same. to the same. to to the same the same. to the the he he he he he he he he he he he he he hea? hea-I hea hea hea hea hea hea hea hea hea hea hea hea hehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehe. hehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehe ttau. ttau. And ttau. And ttau. And ttau. And ttau. And ttau. And ttau. And ttau. And ttau. And ttau. And he's ttau. Andtoo and they went to the psychiatric. Wait, is that what that means? I thought it meant you murdered somebody. I thought it had something to do with like you were sad that someone. Oh, I don't know. I don't know. I don't know from tattoos. I don't know. You should. You're a tattoo guy. I'm not a tattooed guy. I've got like D&D tattoos. No one's looking at me and going, oh, which click is he a member?
Starting point is 00:15:45 Hard time. They're all just kids that have dream time superpowers, some of them. Well, yeah, so they all have a thing that they're able to do in their dreams that they're not able to do in their waking times. Right. Do you have that? I don't dream, really? I often fly in my dreams. Damn! Are you happy to be flying or are you scared to be flying? Yes.
Starting point is 00:16:10 Cool. Yeah. Usually it's getting me out of situations and it's real uncomfortable talking about dreams. So I'm going to move on from the situation. You said in the last episode, I start talking about my own dreams. It's like, well, what it actually means is... Or it's just like when someone comes up to you and they're like, I had this dream last night and you're like, instantly just turn your brain off. You're like, a little bear riding a tricycle just goes around for a while.
Starting point is 00:16:36 But it's a tricycle of blood. But you were in the dream. And then I found $5. Yeah, what? But yeah, no, I often fly in my dreams. And I have a reoccurring nightmare where I'm running through a house that keeps getting smaller. Oh, you should turn around. Something's chasing me. Oh, you should kick its ass. I should. That's probably true.
Starting point is 00:17:00 Let me tell you how to manage your dreams better. Take hypnesil. That's why I don't dream. I take hypnissil. Which Neil has to look up and I felt like he should know what that is? I felt like he should know. Because the other doctor does when he brings it up to her, she's like, hypnacyl, no. But he's like looking in a database. Why does Heather Legantham? Why does Heather Leggin work? It seems like a bottle you keep on your nightstand. It seems like a nighttime medication. Just get a pill caddy. That way no one knows what your scripts are. That's a good idea.
Starting point is 00:17:33 Yeah. Yeah. Pro tip. It's better to be fun than no things. Get a pill caddy. And then you could fill it with M&M so that you that you that you that you that that that th, th, the th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, tog. tog, tog, tog, tog. tog. tog. tog. tog. tha, tha, tha, thi,&M's so that you get like your daily dose. You don't eat the whole bag at once. You're really going to get like two peanut M&M's in one of those things though. But how many regulars?
Starting point is 00:17:51 Why in God's name want to eat a regular Emon No way. Ayue way? Because peanut pretzel. No! I just pointed, I got so mad. Well, it sounds like soon we'll be having an Eminem tasting competition. Peanut pretzel, then what? Then everything else. Oh my gosh, no. It is peanut butter, plain.
Starting point is 00:18:24 The peanut butter is not good. I'll take Ereace's pieces. A Rhesus pieces is clearly superior, but Ereace's pieces. A reces pieces is always going to be superior to an Eminem. But no, a peanut emm is superior to an Areas pieces. No! Oh, I said it. Oh, oh my god.
Starting point is 00:18:36 How are we even fucking friends? Because? I? Because? Because? Because? Because? Because? Because? Because? Because? Because? Because? I? I? I? I? I? I? Oh, I was gonna go back to being old, Alan knows everything about everything. Horror, you know, Freddy is just like, he's not, you know, Freddy? Is that what would happen if I left the room? You would just immediately devolve. So I was reading in, no, uh, I don't think you have anything to be ashamed of. Oh, God. I mean, we're in regards to thau, to be to be to be to be a to be a to be a to be ashamed, to be ashamed, to be ashamed, to be ashamed, to be ashamed, thi. thi. thi. thi. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi, thi. thi, thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thin. thin. thin. thin. to to to to to thin. to to tooooo. too. too. too. thi. thi. thi. thi. mean we're in regards to this podcast. Oh okay yeah okay yeah look no we should all be ashamed I'm Catholic. So Freddy
Starting point is 00:19:11 starts killing these kids off and I'm gonna put it out there first death best death. The marionette. The marionette. It is so spooky. Have a friend who may or may not have passed out in that scene. Damn. It's got a blood phobia. Oh, well he should probably not have seen a film like a slasher. So for anyone who didn't watch this movie, Freddie makes all the tendons come out of this kid's arms and hands and legs and feet and walks him like a marionette. And it goes on for an incredibly long time.
Starting point is 00:19:45 And what I, like at 45 found even creepier was the non-effect version of him just walking with his wrists held up. If you saw someone just walking at you like that, what would you do? Would you run? Now you'd run right at him. Yeah, just have to tackle. Start up to sleep walking. Blah! It's an incredible image. I think what this movie does really well are like images you will not forget. For sure. Like there's that, but then there's also little stuff just like in one of, what is Patricia Sharkette's character's name?
Starting point is 00:20:18 You're talking about our friend, Kristen. In one of Kristen's dreams, there's like something moving under the carpet in a moment. I find that really scary, but it's just like a little touch, you know. Did you watch the dock-in video for Dream Warriors? You know, I didn't. Because it's George Lynch, the guitar player that's moving under the carpet in that video. Oh, gross. You bust out of the wall and just a hot solo? You know. That's cool, tho. You th. You're th. You're th. You're th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. that's thi. that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's th. I. I. I. I. I. I's th. I's th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. the the the the thooooooooooooo. I's th. the. the. thi. thee. thi. I's thi. I's ththough. I wish I could bust out of something and do a hot solo, just like for once in my life. Yeah, yeah. Solo one's cool. Never gonna be cool. But I'm fun. I don't know things. Oh, I also really love when giant worm Freddy who comes up out of the carpet is eating Kristen. Yeah. And I really love the on-set still of her like looking off like bored with Freddy up halfway up her body. It's really funny. I've never seen that but we should put that on our social media somewhere. I don't know. Or maybe not.
Starting point is 00:21:15 Um Snapchat. Yeah. Find us on on TikTok. Oh, I've heard about this but I don't know what it is. I don't know what it is. Venmo? I think it's videos. I think it's like vines. I don't. Find. Find. Find. Find. Find. Find. Find. Find us on. Find us on. Find us on th. Find us on th. Find us on th. Find us on th. Find us on th. Find us on th. Find us on th. Find us on th. Find us on th. Find us on th. Find us on th. Find us on th. Find us on th. Find us on th. Find us on th. Find us on th. Find us on th. Find us on th. Find us on th. Find us on thi. Find us on th. I don't know what it is. I don't know what it is. I think it's like vines. I don't know forget it. I'm gonna log on to chat roulette real quick and see if anybody knows. Okay. Yeah there's a lot of great practical effects in this movie and I think even superior to one, I think the effects are way more over the top and then a bed that is a fountain of blood at one point. Like, yeah, which is even even even even even even even even even even even even even th. Yeah, which is really, which is really, which is really, which is really, which is really, which is really really really really really, which is really, which is really, which is really, which is a th. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th. I'm, thi. I'm tho. I'm tho. I'm tho. thi. thi. thi. thi. I'm, thi, thitop. For sure. Way more over top than a bed that is a fountain of blood at one point. Like, yeah. It was really OTT, but this is crazy town. And this borrows from that a little bit because at one point Nancy is sitting in a chair and she goes, whoop right through it. And I think, oh yeah, just like Johnny Depp, but there was not a spray of blood. to the the trop th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. throf, throf, thr- throwne, thr- thr- thr- throwne, throwne, throwne, the, the, the, the, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. t. ttae, ttae. ttae. ttau. tha. tha. tha. thae. thae. to. tf. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. How hunky. Hunky-hunky teenage Johnny Depp. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You think he has to wear all those belts and rings now to horn birds that he's trying to eat in somebody's yard? He's got so many necklaces and belts on. I think that's exactly what it is. I think you've nailed it. I thin. Oh, brother. I love a lot of the dream imagery, like when Kristen is running through the house and the
Starting point is 00:22:29 floor turns to tar. Yeah, and she's just running in place. Yeah. Holding that little skeleton baby. I occasionally, it's clearly a baby doll at that, but they didn't even bother. When I occasionally do dream, often it's I can't figure out how to work my cell phone, or I'm trying to run and I'm just like, bouncing? Oh wow.
Starting point is 00:22:50 In the air? But not like moving? Yeah, I'm just like... Oh, that would be so nerve-wrack. Yeah. It turns that we both have a lot of anxiety dreams. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, we need hypno cell. I mean, sure.
Starting point is 00:23:10 Fun fact though, I love dreaming. Really? Oh yeah, I'm a big fan. Every time it happens, I'm like, come on, brain. I expect better from you. Be logical. Be scientific, dushbag. It's like your brain is making little horror movies for you.
Starting point is 00:23:25 But like other people do that already, and you can just watch them on the TV. I don't know. I just don't think I need it. So then we start getting these group battles against Freddie, where we're seeing people's different techniques. So Nancy comes in and is like, no, they're all telling the truth. I know because I was part of this. And she's like, you're all the last children of Elm Street.
Starting point is 00:23:49 But like, did nobody put together that these kids all knew each other or grew up in the same area? Or like, do you know what I mean? Like, that's a big mess. That's a big mess. Yeah. Yeah. At least to they they they they they they they they all they all they all they all they all they all they all they all they all they all they all they all they all they all they all they all they all they all they all they all they all they all all all all all all they all all they all all they all all all all all all all all they all they all they all they all they all all they all they all they all they all they all. That's all. they all. they all. they all. they all. they all. they all. they all. they all. they all all. they all. they all. they all. they all. they all. they all. they all. they all. they all. they all. they they they the their. th. their. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the their all all got like the wrong acid or something. Right, right. You would look at the environment and it's just like, Neil, you fucked up. I don't think Neil was good at his job. I don't think it was either. I think he cared, but I think he was, uh, incompetent. Yeah. Yeah. He's with the French call, Liz incompetent. But we do get these great scenes of him hypnotizing everybody to go into these group fights. They all get hypnotized very easily.
Starting point is 00:24:27 Sure. Have you ever been hypnotized? No. Do you ever see it happen? No, at the county fair? Yeah, no, at the Wren fair I saw. Yes, I've seen it there too. You're a chicken?
Starting point is 00:24:39 Yeah, I've seen that yeah do people I mean does it like is it real I don't think so so everybody's just playing along I don't know I feel like you could not pay me enough money to play along I feel like I'm never getting out of the audience if you point to me and say come up on stage you just turn around and look behind you no I'm not we'll not be doing that please move along no no that's how you wake up without a wallet too I feel you know and th I I I I th I that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that th th th that th th th th that th thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi tho tho tho th th th th th th th th th the th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th the th the the the to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to how you wake up without a wallet too, I feel. You know? And then no, like, thanks for your kidneys. Whoa. Whoa. Go back and listen to our episode about Urban Legend. Oh, man. Oh, and there's this nun, that's haunting Neil. I had a beef with this too. Oh, go on. Because at the end of the... So, she reveals that like, a woman who worked w wo wo wo wo wo wo wo wo wo wo wo wo wo wo a woman that like a woman w W W W. A woman that like a woman th. A woman th. A woman th. th. th. th. th. that like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that, that, that, that, that, that, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. too. Oh go on. Because at the end of the... So she reveals that like a woman who worked at the hospital was raped hundreds of times by maniacs and that was Freddy's mother. And then at the very end of the movie it's revealed that she was that mother.
Starting point is 00:25:36 Yeah she was Amanda Kruger. But they do that reveal again in five. Because I was like, I know this information already. I had not seen this movie. I knew that information already because they made a big deal. But when they did it in five, they were like, here's a big reveal. Oh, I was like, oh, I was waiting for the scene in this movie. Because in five, they show you like the buildup to. Yeah. Yeah. I still, every time they're announcing how many maniacs it was, I'm like, well, the number's 10,000. Of course, it's 10,000, but it's never 10,000. I want 10,000 maniacs to be named after her. Yes. Because the night.
Starting point is 00:26:13 Beautiful voice. It doesn't wear shoes. to be beautiful voice. There's a lot of not wearing shoes for her in that time period. On stage, just on stage. Very hippie-dippy. Very hippie-dippy. You're gonna get ringworm. I played a lot of shows in the 90s without shoes on. Ew, gross. It's just very crunchy, getting back to earth, man.
Starting point is 00:26:34 What the fuck, dude? Doing go jumps with no shoes on. I just just stepping on a pet, like a distortion pedal with no shoes on. That's disgusting to me. bruises right on the bottom of your feet? It's gross as hell. I tell you, I've said it a hundred times. Emo was fucking weird man. Oh yeah, but also just like that's a weird, that's a very weird section of it. Shoelessness. Sure, yeah, going into a room and crying about somebody's dad. Sure, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's always a weird time. Somebody's dad? Who ever happens to be talking about the dad. Oh, th of th of the dad. Oh, th th th to th to their Chip, whoever happens to be talking about their dad at that morning. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:27:07 Everclear, be quiet. Stop talking about it. God, I wish one of them was named Everclear. Everclear? Wasn't even your dad. Anyway, yes, they're all ganging up on Freddie. But like, they're all in their own dreams still real bad at what they do. Wait, can we talk about the death of the actress?
Starting point is 00:27:28 Oh, of course, yeah. When she's watching TV and it's Zsa Gabor on the Dick Cabot Show. So did, I was reading about that? Tell me. Jaja had no idea what this franchise was. I was what Freddie Kruger was, that this was a horror movie. No. And apparently, that that that that that that that tha that tha that that tha was that that that that thia that that thia was that that thia was that thia was that thia was thuuuuuuuuuuuuuu that th. tho thi was thuja was thus was tho tho th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thiiiiiiiiiiii. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii. th. th. th. th. th a horror movie. No. And apparently that reaction of screaming is real. Cool. Yeah. Because when I saw her name in the opening credits,
Starting point is 00:27:48 I was like, what? Qua? Oh man. But then I saw the name John Saxon, and I was like, I am here for this. Criminally underused John Saxon. I know. And also like criminally bad at doing a drunk slur. It's true. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:10 It's so weird when he comes back. Yeah. So yeah, they're all going to go into like the dream time together. Mm-hmm. Do we mention that he walked the kid off the building? No, we did not. Oh yeah. The marinette- the actress actress actress actress actress actress actress actress actress actress actress actress actress actress actress actress actress actress actress actress actress actress actress actress actress. The actress actress. The actress. The actress. the actress. the actress. the actress. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the we did not. Oh yeah, the marionette kid he walks off the building. The TV, the actress, girl, he puts her head through the TV. Best use of bitch in this movie, and the ward goes to...
Starting point is 00:28:33 Welcome to Primetime, bitch. That had to be like West Graving Types of Duffing is, brav'in' thi-a, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, he thi, he, thi, he th-a, he the the the the the TV, he puts, he the TV, he the TV, he the TV, he the TV, he the TV, he the TV, he the TV, he the TV, he the TV, he the TV, he the TV, he the TV, he the TV, he the TV, he the TV, he thi, he-a, he-a, he-s, he-s, he-s, he-s, he-s, a break. First, a mannequin head that kind of looks like Freddy will come up out of the television set and then be Robert England. Yeah. It will have robot arms. I liked that. Oh, for sure. Yeah. And then I love when they opened the door and her heads just, she's hanging like the the, like, the, the, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, the TV and they're like, ma'am-ah. Yeah, I mean like I could see how they thought that the kid killed
Starting point is 00:29:07 himself by jumping off the window, but like you don't kill yourself by jumping three feet in the air into a television. I just don't think it's possible. Also, kid who jumps off the building? No. I couldn't, were they having a joint funeral? I'm not sure. And if there was two, did Nancy wear that hat to both? Because it's inappropriate. You feel like you gotta switch it up? I just, no, no, I just think that hat sucks for a funeral. I just thought it was not, it was not a good look for her. It was very, uh, we're having a great Gatsby party.
Starting point is 00:29:38 Exactly. Likeadum. Bada-dum. Holy shit. I love that song. Are we gonna get sued for that? No, I think you can bu-dump, but-dump as much you would. The dump-a-dup-dump. And I do. The lyrics of that song is so bad, I love it. It's about Elvis. Oh, I know. But it's not like she's saying about peanut butter and bacon and banana sandwich. True.
Starting point is 00:30:08 God, I would eat the shit out of that. I'm sure it's delicious. Can't we die on a toilet. Honestly, that's how I'd like to go. That's not true. I won't even, I like, really hate going to to the bathroom, to to to to to be, to, the, because, because, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, the, to, to, to, the, the, to, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, to, I to, I to, I to, I, I, I to, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to to to to to to to to th to to th th to to to to th toa, toa, toa, toa, toa, toa, toa, toa, toa, toa, toa, toa, to, toa, to, to, to, toa around my ankles you know. Why just on a plane? Because if the plane goes down. I guess I should have made that clear. Yeah, no.
Starting point is 00:30:32 Like they're like, oh god, no known survivors in this bitch had her pants down, you know? So embarrassing, so degrading. Welcome to to to toilet time, bitch. Bitch. This is also the most I've said bitch in years. I say it a lot and I don't care. I'm sorry I know it's like a hateful word, but... You do you?
Starting point is 00:30:53 Talk? Yeah. No one wants to hear an old man saying bitch all the time. No, but me it's okay. Yeah, it's fine. Great. Great. Great. Freddy, in a great scene, steals Joey when they all go into the dream times. You talking about them titties? I'm talking about them titties, but more importantly, I'm talking about those prehensile tongues that are holding him to the bit. Oh, so narly. I loved that.
Starting point is 00:31:17 Tongues are very gross. You ever eaten tongue? Uh, I think so. Yeah, yeah. It's pretty delicious. Yeah. But, uh, watching someone get their wrists tied with tongue is pretty gross. This also brought back memories of Fantasm for me. Oh, oh. Because he was making out with Freddy. Oh, yeah. Just like that dude was making out with Angus Scrim.
Starting point is 00:31:41 Getting those big old titties titties titts titts titts titts titts titts tits tits tits, tits, tits, tits, tits, tits, ti, ti, ti, ti, ti, ti, those big old titties, Freddie's titties not nearly as nice, but... Not a sentence I thought I do today. I wrote it down. Freddy's titties not nearly as nice. I wrote that. Did we see Freddy's titties? I don't think... I don't think Freddy was shirtless at any point. Well, he was the lady. Yes, I know, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. tho. tho. tho. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. th. th. th. th. th. th. was shirtless at any point. Well, he was the lady. Yes, I know, but it didn't transition to him being shirtless.
Starting point is 00:32:07 You know? Just pizza boobs? Oh God. Freddy's titties. Freddy's titties, not nearly as nice. Then I wrote, tongue-tied quip. Because he's mute, see? I'm surprised he didn't drop a B-bomb after that one.
Starting point is 00:32:26 Yeah, he might have, I didn't write it down. But I love that like, Joey gets tied down to the bed on four corners with four tongues that are wagging the whole time. Yeah, they look great. The mattress drops out, and it's just a portal to fiery hell. Right. Yes. So cool. So cool. I love that they were just like rando skeletons throughout the whole. Yeah there's a lot
Starting point is 00:32:49 of random skeletons that I like in this movie. Sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. Freddy's got quite the collection. Who are they though? Are they the people from the first movie I guess? In the second movie presumably? Tina. Tina. Tina. Tina. Tina. T. T, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the tho. I tho the the tho the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho., Tina, Tina, Tina. I see Tina, so many god-daimtimes in that movie. These are my former castmates. Tina. You know, there's also a great scene of them playing D&D in Air Quilt and they're playing Wizard Master or whatever the fuck it's called. I did like that a lot. Yeah, it was cute. It was sweet. So this nun who keeps appearing to Neil and only to Neil tells him that Freddy's remains need to be buried and hallowed ground. Which Neil's interpretation of that is not a little loose.
Starting point is 00:33:37 Not sure why he didn't just take him to a church yard but okay. junkyard, churchyard, you know. You can't just dig a hole and put holy water in it. And like a crucifix you stole. He gave the priest's wallet and driver's license. Fucking Neil. Yeah. So, Nancy has to go find her dad to find out where the remains are. And he's drinking at Lil Nemo's a bar I
Starting point is 00:34:05 would absolutely love to drink in. I didn't even notice that. And he says to her, my baby come to see your daddy and I was like don't be a fucking creep John's accent it's not your role. Why is he so southern? I don't know he's so southern when he's drunk. I get really yinzy when I'm drunk. But that's your... But that's my roots. He looks great though. You know, I feel about John Saxon. I was gonna ask you about that. That's how I feel.
Starting point is 00:34:35 Is that current age Katie that feels that way or would like 20-year-old Katie? No. It's 35-year-old gaity, yeah, yeah, for sure. Just watching Black Christmas like, yeah. Craig T. Nelson, specifically in Poltergeist. Yeah, no, not Craig T. Nelson, the poultergeist. John Saxon, for at least a decade. Yeah, well, he looked good for a long time. Yeah, yeah. He held onto that hair. He did. He did. I just, uh, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, just, I, just, I, just, I, just, just, just, just, I, just, just, I, just, just, I, just, just, th, just, just, just, th, just, just, th, th, like, like, th, like, th, th, like, like, th, like, like, like, th, like, th, th, just, just, just, just, just, th, just, just, th, th, just, th, just, th, just, just, th, just, just, th, just, th, just, just, just, th, just, th, th, just, th. Just, just, th. Just, like, th. Just, I've th. Just, I've thi, I've thi, I've thi, just, just, thi, thi, thi, just, thi, just, thi, thi, just, yeah. He that he held onto that hair. He did. He did. I just, I have weird tastes. I know. I love it. I love it. I love it. It's just disgusting. Throw me a chanding to eat him and I'm like, that's gross. Get that out of here. Fucking fist with abs. I thought that was um, um, yeah. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was. I that that was, I was, um, I was, no, no, no,'t even get into it. Do you like Thai food? This is the best Thai restaurant in town.
Starting point is 00:35:29 It's also the only Thai restaurant in town. Fucking Neal! Slipping a hand under the table, you know he is. That lie was she was probably like, all right. Yeah. I guess, I guess so. If you're Nancy, you fuck Neil, no. No, she's got that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the that real hot like white streak in her hair, like the mom at the end of the folder guys. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Why, is that white streak from the previous movie I guess? She got scared. Yeah, you get scared. That's why my beer is so white. You've been so terrified so many times. I just have little scares throughout my hair. Just plug it out. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi's. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. hair. You're just plugging out your fears. Yep.
Starting point is 00:36:06 Ooh, being abandoned. There it is. Oop finding all that no one ever loved you. There it is. All four tires in my car popping at once. Pull it right out. Going to the dentist and hearing they're pulling all of your teeth. There it is.
Starting point is 00:36:23 Going to the dentist and finding Corbyn-Burnsom. Why the nun? I mean, other than to be like you got a Burnham and Hollow Ground. I think that's it. I think that, and I think we're supposed to be shocked by Freddie's conception. But I was shocked by it in the fifth movie, so I don't know. Is this your first think I thought I had seen it but I had not so this movie I have some weird history with okay really wanted to go see this movie on my 13th birthday cute because it
Starting point is 00:36:53 came out it came out like a month before my birthday yeah so it was still in theaters my mom was like I don't like to go see horror movies and I was like well then? then don't come and she's like well I'm I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I to go I to go I'm like well I'm like well I'm like well I'm like well I'm like well I'm like well I'm like well I'm to go I'm like well I'm to go I'm to go I'm to go I'm to go I'm to go I'm to go I'm to go I'm to go I'm to go I'm to go I'm to go I'm to go to go to go to go to go to go to go to go to go to go to go I'm to go I'm the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the to go the the to go to go to go to go to go to go to go to go to go to go to go to go to go to go to go to go to go to go to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to th. th. the. the the the come to the movie with you at your birthday. So I saw some kind of wonderful instead. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. Which is one of my favorite movies all the time, so. It worked out in the end. But yeah, I had to wait for this to come out on VHS to rent in and watch. I mean, there's a scene in which a character gets yelled at a character gets yelled at by the the screem, the the their mother, so it's probably good you didn't see that with your mom. That scene is great. It is great. It's a great visual. That's what I'm saying, like this movie's heavy on amazing visuals, and that's a good on the plot. Sure. Yeah, that's why, I mean they needed the none because they were like, wait, wait, wait, wait. I think bitch. I think bitch, bitch, I thi. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th th th th th th th th th th th thi's thi's thi's thi's thi's thi's thi's thi's thi's thi's thi's thi's this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this is this is this is this is this is this is th. th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's thi's thi's thi's thi's thi's thi thi thi thi theeeeeeeeeeeeeeease theee is thi thi thi thi thi that scene also has one when he's looking for the bourbon. Yeah. I said, where's the fucking bourbon? I'm sorry I didn't mean to step on you, I just was
Starting point is 00:37:49 excited. I get to swear and say bourbon. Yeah. It's fun. It is fun. The note they're pretty handsy for co-workers, fuck doctors. Yeah. Not like I'm against doctors. They're fuck doctors. Yeah. Not like I'm against doctors, they're fuck doctors. Yeah. This is my Malaysian Dream doll. What? And then he has it at the end. He does! Oh, it's so gross.
Starting point is 00:38:14 Did she bequeathed that to you? I don't know. Along with that like eight by 10 photo of him with the dead kids drinking the shit? Fucking Neil, I th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. thed. thed. thed. thed. the. the. the. the. th. th. th. thed. thed. thed. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. th. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. ththis shit. He does get fired, you got fired during the shit, which is perfect because his track record is very, very bad. Also, Neil makes bad choices, like he goes back to the bar to get John Saxon. You kind of like rough him up and it's like you're doing this, whatever. John Saxon is pissed drunk and then when we see them pulling up to the junkyard, John Saxon is driving. Why? Because when John Saxon says I'm driving, I'm like, well of course you are, I'm sorry. I just don't think so. Also, there's no way
Starting point is 00:38:49 that Neil throws John Saxon against the wall and that doesn't end up with him on his ass. Honestly. Honestly. Maybe I just have really high hopes for John Saxon, but like, yeah, you don't miss the John Saxon. So I had to look to look to look to look to look to look to look to look to look to look to look to look to look to look to look to look to look to look to look to look to look to look to look to look to look to look to look to look to look to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. the. the. the. You don't miss with John's accent. So I had to look up where Heather Langenkamp is from, because she was giving me strong Zelda Rubenstein vibes. Oh, really? Her accent was like giving me that like, you're only a little bit. She's from Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Starting point is 00:39:14 Not even close. No. Uh-huh. Uh-oh, Oklahoma. Sorry Oklahomans. I wonder if people from Oklahoma listen to this podcast. We get downloads from all 50 states. Do we? Oh yeah, yeah, for sure. Damn! We're cool. No, we're not. We're fun, but we don't know things. That's what we're about. Being fun and not knowing things. Why did everybody get together to burn Freddy? They had, they pulled in the
Starting point is 00:39:43 entire PTA., like it is so many people, it had been so many sets of parents who got together to do this. Yeah, and you had the sheriff involved, you can't just press-charted against him and arrest him. Well no no, he got off on a technicality. He had to trial and he got off on a technicality. Okay, I forgot that, okay. that's th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. the. the. the. tho. thoe. the the the the. thoe. the the the the the the the the the the the the the their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their the. th. the. th. th. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. toge. toge. toge. toge. toge. toge. toge. toge. toge. toge. toge. toge. toge. toge. t answers it's shocking when that happens isn't it I have the note he unzips and we have titties ladies ladies and gents I wrote that note down was that he helped unzip the nurse's uniform oh yeah yeah yeah yeah oh god those implants thi's thi thi the thi thi the thi thi the the thi thi the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the they the the the the the the the the the the the the the-theat the the theyyy the the that's that's that's that's that's that's the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the to to to the the the to the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the to He helped unzip the nurse's uniform. Oh yeah yeah yeah. Oh God those implants, those 80s implants. It's just so hard to look at. They are and yeah the tech just wasn't there yet. Mm-mm-mm. I also have the note those underpants are very unforgiving. No it's a very good thing that she was as fit as she was.
Starting point is 00:40:47 Like who doesn't wear a bra for your nurse job too? It's true. But a white thong on a workday? Mm-mm. Mm-mm. Come on. A white thong ever? Yeah. No. Unless you know it's coming immediately back on. And we're changing the subject.
Starting point is 00:41:05 So we get to basically the final confrontation with Freddie. So Tarran, Kincaid, and Kristen. And Heather Liggin camp are all in the dream world. Right. And they're going after Freddie. And we see, I think, oh, and the kid in the wheelchair. Oh, the wizard. The wizard. He goes down pretty quickly.
Starting point is 00:41:27 He does, which is a bummer because he briefly has like electricity powers and he's fighting Friddy and then Fredie just... Yeah. Terran's death is definitely the saddest but also the funniest. You think it's funny. I think it's funny when her needle wounds are sucking for the needles. I found that to be very distressing. Oh really? Yes, I also found his syringe hands filled with blue liquid to be very gross.
Starting point is 00:41:52 But then after he kills her, he goes, oh what a rush. And I wondered, is that what Dee Snyder is referencing in Strangeland? Because remember we like piled on that and talked about it for a long time in that episode? I bet it is. I bet it's an homage. Yeah. In which case sorry we made so much fun of you D. Snyder but we really hit that joke a lot. I'm not sorry D. Snyder. It's fine. I'll apologize to Freddie but not to D. Snyder. That's reasonable. I just I think I I think I th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th thi I thi thi thi thi thi thi th at th at th at th. I th. I th. I that's th th that's th. I'm that's th. I'm th. I'm th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th the the the the the the the the the to the to to to the the to to theeeeeeean to to to to the the to the the the the the the the to to Freddy but not to do Snyder. That's reasonable. I just I think I picture the little sucking mouse coin. Noom, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:42:32 So she dies from Freddy overdose. What a rush. Mm-hmm. How does Kincaid get killed? I did not make a note for that. Does he? Does he get killed? I think he might live. Oh okay. I think he and Kristen. Right because the wizard gets killed. I think Terran might get killed. We never actually see her like fall to the ground. She just gets the water rush and he's gone. Kincaid lives. Okay. Yeah. Oh we forgot to bet to that Lawrence Fishburn, nay, Larry fishburn. Larry. It's just like an orderly, who is really nice to the kids. Yeah. He has like snippets of wisdom, I would say. Yeah, for sure.
Starting point is 00:43:11 But he also says that these kids have fucked up chromosomes, which I was like, hey guy? Like... It's because all the drugs their parents did. That's not how chromosomes work, even in this latest. Maybe in the 80s it did, I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th th th thi, I th, I thi, I thi, I thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th. It's, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi. thi. thi. th latest. Maybe in the 80s it did, I don't know. Yeah, so they bury Freddy's bones. And there's the end fight where he's like slowly fading and lights bursting out of him. After killing John Saxon, by throwing him on to like a sticky outy.
Starting point is 00:43:36 Yeah. In the junkyard. After throwing a car on his car. Yeah, right. That was just a dick move. Hey dog, I heard you like car, so I put a car on your car. That's a pimp my ride reference. You guys like that? You guys like that show? Is that just completely gone? I feel like there was like a flash moment where that existed now.
Starting point is 00:43:57 I feel like you can't even watch it anywhere. I feel like exhibit no thathing that. I do like like like th like th like th th career and then he was gone. I do have the note Freddie got fingered when she stabs Freddy with his own gloves. And I was very proud of that. That is good. I also really like when he's an animated skeleton and like just walking around, I thought it was great. Little Harry How's a nod?
Starting point is 00:44:14 I love that. You know, I do. Um, you know I do. You'd think he'd accidentally stabbed himself all the time. Real effort, lose his hands. You know he's gotta wipe with the other hand, like, how does he open a jar? I had a lot of thoughts about Freddie. Are they retractable? His clothes? No.
Starting point is 00:44:32 Okay, so how does he like eat peanut butter? It just takes the glove off. Oh, it's not his hand. It's really hard. It broke my arm once. Uh, I don't know that I have. Try it later, you'll see. Let me know how hard it is. My next note says, I hope to have a better turnout at my funeral.
Starting point is 00:44:56 So, you know, that's where I was during this movie. Sucks for me because I wouldn't have a dream power. I'd be in this just like holding a baseball bat. It's a pretty good dream powder. Powder. But I'll be as powerful as I am in real life with a baseball bat, which is to say, not good at a batting cage. But you've never used it to strike out another human being or a super natural creature. Not that you know of.
Starting point is 00:45:22 It's true. Ghost Saxon comes back to visit Nancy. It was Freddy all along. Note to self, never call your daughter princess. That's gross, don't do that. Nancy is dead funeral time. Nancy is dead funeral time. It's not a very graceful reveal of the nun being his mother, is it? It's a note I have.
Starting point is 00:45:40 Oh, I went with with with with with with with with with withthen as Neil is falling asleep with Nancy's Malaysian Dream Doll, my god, Juice Box Photograph and the paper machete house of Nancy's house. A little light comes on in the house and the opening notes of Dream Warrior by Dockenstar. Here are the things that bother me about that. One, it was never Nancy's house. It was Kristen's. She was the one building that. So did he take it away from Kristen?
Starting point is 00:46:10 Yeah, but it was of Nancy's house. I understand that. It was his girlfriend who died, Katie. Oh, I'm sorry. That's my only problem. Two, they really set this up for a sequel if they didn't want to do a sequel, the light turning on. So, that's my only problems. I wonder if that was like a, like West Craven was like, oh, all right, guys, I'm just gonna head out, we're done here and look, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, turn the light on.
Starting point is 00:46:35 I did like that though. I think that's a cool, uh a shot a shot a shot a shot a shot a shot a shot a shot a shot a shot a shot a shot a shot a shot a shot a shot a shot a shot a shot a shot a shot a shot a shot a shot a shot a shot a shot a shot a shot a shot a shot a shot a shot a shot a shot a shot a shot a shot a shot a shot a shot a shot. I don't know. They still haven't figured it out, have they? No. Not bearing his bones in hallowed ground. Not having his child? What the fuck was that movie about? I don't remember. I think he like imbued that child with powers and then the child used the powers against him? I don't remember because I was like pregnant and my brain didn't work. Yeah. Yeah. Mm-hmm. And there was a baby Freddy, I remember that. There was a baby Freddy. That's cute.
Starting point is 00:47:08 I'm like a Freddie embryo. Yeah. Oh right, they do a sonogram and it's got a little did it have a claw hand? I hope so. I hope so. I think it was just like a little fleshy claw-a. Katie. Alan. Do you want to go to the ratings phase? Say it. No! I cannot look you in the eye and say that to you.
Starting point is 00:47:27 I would have taken it. Yes I do. Go. I loved this. This was so fun. Yeah. It's competently acted. I just feel like the images in this are so good.
Starting point is 00:47:40 Like the visuals are so good, the effects are so good. Like, watch it for that, if nothing else. I'm giving this an 8 and a half, because I really enjoyed it. I think this is the exact recipe for a good Freddie movie. For sure. Go for as many kills as you can get in there. Hot visuals, hot takes. Don't worry about the plot. It'll sort itself out eventually. Think of something called Hypnosil. Go with it. What did you say?
Starting point is 00:48:06 8.5? Yeah. Yeah, I love it, 8. Yeah. I really liked this movie. It was a lot of fun to watch it the other night. And I was just like, I've come around on Freddy. I watched this after I watched next week.
Starting point is 00:48:18 to a palette the Strangers. Yeah. 2008. Live Taylor. Taylor. A little movie that I like to call Empire Records too. A movie I like to call people who peaked in the 90s. Ouch. Take that former Felicity star. Yeah, when was that show? When was that show? 1998. Scott Speedman. Don't burn it all now, we need it for next week. Okay, I'll say it
Starting point is 00:48:53 again. That's gonna be my intro for next week. It's gonna say Scott Speedman. You can sink the two episodes up? Yeah. Except we're still talking so it's not gonna go all that well. Is there anything else you want to say to these people? I mean you can you you you you you you you you you th you th you th you th you th you th you th th th. What is that? What do you use? I use podcast or public. from three days ago, so this is brand spank and new. It's from user Little Ricky.
Starting point is 00:49:29 Just listen. Katie and her friend Alan, Alan, Allalian, IDK. It's spelled wrong each time. Are great, you will wish they were your friends. My favorite horror related podcast. This podcast is so good, it makes House Party 1 look like House Party, too. Thank you, Little Ricky. I wish you were our friend too, because you're clearly very funny. I don't know what that means and I love it. Five stars. Thanks, Little Ricky.
Starting point is 00:49:59 Thanks, Little Ricky. Podkast Republic, get at us. Let's come back next week. We're going to talk about the strangers. Yeah. We might have a surprise for you next week. We might not. It depends. We actually don't know at this time. Yeah, we will let you know. We won't know when we record that episode either. Yep, yep, yep, you'll know if it happens.
