Werewolf Ambulance: A Horror Movie Comedy Podcast - Episode 244- Witchboard (1986)

Episode Date: September 2, 2019

Before we get into this week's episode, we just want to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for the kind words on our first YouTube video. We (or at least I [Katie]) legit cried reading your c...omments. You are all fantastic and we are so lucky to have you. Thank you, thank you, thank you.   And onto this week's episode! We are returning to Allen's loves of both the mid-80s and hair metal with the 1986 film "Witchboard" starring Tawny Kitaen of Whitesnake video fame. Special topics for your consideration include: the proper pronunciation of ouija ("WEEEE-JAAAAAH!"), the concept of reaching across the veil and asking the dead the dumbest possible questions, waterbeds: what/why?, more inappropriate funereal headwear, and the high highs and low lows of 80s hair.  Some of our favorite episodes of this show covered movies that were released in 1986. Check out Episode 35- "Neon Maniacs," Episode 56- "Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2," Episode 95- "April Fool's Day," Episode 174- "Chopping Mall" or perhaps our favorite of all, our live show, Episode 199- "Terrorvision." Please also go check our our YouTube companion episode for this week, in which we play another game and have a top important taste test. While you're at it, please subscribe to our channel! Starting point is 00:00:00 Can I read you my first note for this movie? Is this peak Alan? I think that it might be. I think this might be the most Allen movie that has ever existed. Oh really? There's a lot going on that I can see it would make you think that. It's all things you like. Yeah. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:00:30 Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. In an era that you love, Peek Alan. The era of the Whitesnake video. Yeah. What is Tani Kateane's deal? She's an actress. She's an actress. Was she an actress pre-White Snake? I believe so. Yeah, yeah. And then and after for sure she is still a
Starting point is 00:00:52 working actress. Her face looks hard to look at now. Oh. It's very inflated. Yeah, I mean, that plastic surgery business is a, it's a hell of a drug it seems, yeah. Tough drug. I just saw a picture of Perry Farrell. Oh no, what's he looking like? It looks like all of those people who have had too much plastic surgery. Stop putting things into your face. Yeah. Just let your face be your face.
Starting point is 00:01:16 Well, it's got to be, not to be a bummer, but like, it's got to be so to be so to be so to be so to be so to be so to be so to be so to be so hard to like get popular and be loved for being beautiful when you're young. Yeah. Like even Perry Forel, he was like a sexy dude. Yeah, he was a sexy dude, sure. And now he's like older and probably doesn't feel that way anymore and the rest of the world's like you're not that young sexy to anymore. But look, I'm made of plastic now. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:37 But it's worse. Oh. It's a a 100. It's a 100. It's a 100. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. tho. tho. th. th. th. th. th. tho. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to te. to the. the. the. the. the. the. the. Age gracefully. Yeah. Says the guy who has never been very frill. No. No. Do share a birthday with him. Oh, HPD. Yeah. Yeah. Anyway, Peak Allen. Which board? 1987? 86? It's like, there's conjecture. Sure. Sure. I think 1987 is the year we've done the most movies from Yeah when I looked at it yeah for sure that sounds right it's a good time 13 year old Alan well I did not see this movie when it first came out no later like sometime in the 90s okay well well should we talk about it oh this is where all family on so we're a horror movie podcast I'm Alan I'm Katie I'm Katie and this is which is which is a which which which which which which which which is which is which is a which is a which is a which is a which is a which is a which is a which is a which is a which is a which is a which is a which is a which is a which is a which is a which is a which is a which is a which is a this is a this is a th. this is a this is a th. this is a th. this is a this is a this is this is. this is this is this is this is this is this is this is this is this is this is this is this is this is this is a this is a this is a this is a this is a this is a this is a this is a this is a this is a this is a this is a this is a this is a this is a this is a this is a the th. the the the the the the the the th. the the the the the the the th. the the the the th. the th. the th. th. th. th. it? Oh, this is where all family owns, we're a horror movie podcast. I'm Alan.
Starting point is 00:02:26 I'm Katie. And this is Witchboard, starring James, Jim Moore. Why is that his name? They should have just named him Ruralger. Yeah, Rur. Everyone in the movie is like Mr. Morrow. Yeah, it's like they read the script script script script script script script script guess I'll just go for it. Is his name just peanut butter in my mouth? Because that's what it's gonna sound like. Jim, mwom-wom.
Starting point is 00:02:47 Whom. It's so weird. He is dating Linda. Mm-hmm. Tony Catain. Yeah. I don't know why she's spending so much time with their own, I guess. You think she should have stayed with Brandon? Uh, no. I think she should have gotten with Lloyd. This is fun.
Starting point is 00:03:07 Yeah, he is fun. He'll throw hatchets at you. That's funny, though. No, it isn't. That's never funny. So the movie opens up on the party in this beautiful house. Yes. And I was like, whose house is th th th th th th th th th tha th tha their their their their their their their their their thi? their thi? thi? thi? their thi? thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. the. the. to. to. to. to. toee. toe. toea. toea. toea. toea. toea. toea. toea. toea. toea. toea. to. toe. th house is this supposed to be? Is the construction worker or the rich man? Who is rich for some reason? I think, and it was their apartment, right?
Starting point is 00:03:29 It was their apartment, yeah. And she is a student, so? And he's a construction worker. Yeah, they got rich monies. And it's a party that you havethe worst look. Above the year, baby. Oh, it's so creepy and like, child predatory. Don't you think? It's always, it's like, it's almost as off-footing as the person who doesn't have eyebrows. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:54 You stare at him for a while, you're like, what is this weird? This thing is weird. Oh, you just have those really high sideburns. I feel like a lot of looks come back and that one never has and there's a good goddamn reason for it. I mean I assume you're more aerodynamic. You swim faster. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Those Phelps have no no sideburns? Oh good question. To the internet. So we're at this party. Oh also you have to wear a suit. No sideburns. No people of color. No. Sir, this is the 80s.
Starting point is 00:04:28 They cannot come to a party with white people. Also, an acceptable look is a blousey button up with an open vest. Yeah, yeah. That's still an acceptable look. Sure. Yeah, just letting you know. I mean, you never know when a rentair is going to pop out. Generally I do, but I guess some people don't. What if you have to chant on the Blue Knight? I don't know what that means.
Starting point is 00:04:50 You know, in the big joustic competition in the renfair. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh. Brandon, who's an atheist, is somehow real into ghosts. Yeah, Brandon's whole stick is very confusing. Yeah. Because he's like a rich guy named Brandon in the 80s, driving a sports car. At one point he's like wearing a track suit, lightly unzipped, like a bad guy would. Sure.
Starting point is 00:05:21 Like a bad guy. Yeah, but he also has like deep and abiding knowledge of the spirit world and clearly is friendly with Zarabeth. Zarabeth. Zara Beth. So like what is his life? He also has the fluffiest mullet that's ever existed. Oh, it's so fluffy.
Starting point is 00:05:38 And he also is a terrible actor. Well, I mean, this is a film of terrible actors. There are two actors that I know from other things in this movie. Who's that? That would be Zarabath. Zara Beth you might know from Roadhouse. Yeah but I feel like she's been in a lot of TV shows. Yeah she did not bring her a game in this movie. And... I loved her so I strongly disagree with you, but okay. And the woman who was the landlady Mrs. Moses is Rosemary. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:13 From like the Dick Van Dyke show. I was reading her Wikipedia page and Twitter, yes. And yeah, and instead like she started off as like working for gangsters in like the like the old time like nightclub scene and then like always swore by those gangsters because they always took care of her. And then later in life and like her 80s became like a like a warrior for social justice not a social justice warrior but somebody who would go online and like defend people and like was like big up in women on the internet and stuff and I think that's awesome. That is awesome. Yeah. Yeah she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she's like. She. She's like. She's she's like. She's like. She's s she's. She's. She's th. She's th. She's th. She's th. th. th. th. th. And th th th th th th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th. And th th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And thi is like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like on the internet and stuff and I think that's awesome. That is awesome.
Starting point is 00:06:47 Yeah, she's pretty great. That is. Is she dead? Did she die? She passed away? Just recently. Yeah, a couple years a heck yeah. Gosh. Yeah, but I was like you lived a bang-and-a-ass life. Yeah, good job. you today, Rosemary. Yeah, good job Rosemary. Yeah, you. Yeah, you. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. th. th. th. th. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that's that's that's that's that's that's. that. that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that is. that is. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the is th. the. the is the. th. the. that is that's that's that is th. the. every house. Oh, Tony, could today, of course. Yes, yes, yes. But she was not good, let's be clear. Oh, no, no, no, no. She and Brandon are so bad they make Jim look good, and that is saying something. You're talking about James Jim, moor. Mow. It's like when your cat, you get home from being away from the the the the, the, the, th. Am I getting tuna tonight? M-Mor-a-moo?
Starting point is 00:07:25 Hey, James Jim. Wow. I just love that he's credited as James Jim. Like, we're gonna fucking figure out who Jim was. I know. I would have assumed it was his Christian name. I also like that anyone who was listening to this in their home and has cats, their cats are like, what? Oh, they, they did not that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's th. that's that is that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that that that that that that? Oh, they did not just say that. I also have the note, yuppie party for this party.
Starting point is 00:07:51 Very yuppie. And Tani Ketain's hair is in this, she's gorgeous. She's like, oh my god. What percentage of, am I water, like 80% water or something? She is 80% hair. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And it's fucking beautiful. And it fucking works big time. Well in this scene, she has it pulled into like a loose kind of bun, but it's just so much hair
Starting point is 00:08:13 that it looks like another head on the back of her head. It's like 12 inches of hair. It's so much hair. It's also the same look she uses to get married to get to get to get to get to get to get to get to get to get the to get the to get to get the to get the same look she uses to get married at the end of the film, spoilers. But I guess it's just her formal do. But when she comes back as, spoiler alert, evil taught it contained later on in the movie, her hair is fucking amazing. Fucking dope. She looks amazing. Yeah. Her hair is doing a lot of lifting. Yeah. Oh man, the 80s and hair. I mean, yes, we destroyed the ozone layer. All right. fi fine. th fine. th fine. th fine. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi's thi's thi's the the the the the the th. th. the the their is just is just is just is just is just is just is just. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. to. to. too. tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooe. toe. to ozone layer. All right, fine, climb off your high horse.
Starting point is 00:08:46 It came back. It wasn't really so much the hairspray that was doing it, was it? They had a big effect. Really? Chloroflor carbons? People that I knew would go through like bottles of hairspray in a week. Wow. And it was just wash all that out. Or you could just leave it in for a couple days. thiiiiiiiiii. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I. th. th. to. to. to. to. to. to. toe. toe. toe. thi. toe. toe. toe toe toe toe th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the the the the the th. the the the th. th. th. the. the. the. t. t. toe. toea. toea. toea. toea. toea. toea. toea. toea. toea. toea. to. to. t wash all that out. Or you could just leave it in for a couple days. I don't keep cruising.
Starting point is 00:09:07 And catch bees as you're walking around. That's how the bees got killed too. Those big ass hair. I mean, I'm nowhere supposed to be sorry about the bees or whatever, but I am deeply not sorry. Every once a while, I look at my high-schooled, my senior year pictures, like I have, it's everybody in the class. Yeah. And there is so much high lady hair, and dude hair, but more high lady hair. Yeah, a great time for high lady hair. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. So at the yuppie party, they're gonna do the wiji board. Can I, wait, can I just talk about how Brandon talks about the weji board? Because she calls it a wijah. And he, and he, and he, and he, and he, and he, and he, and he, and he, and he, and he, and he, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, to to to to to to to thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi,'s we, ja, from the French and German words for yes.
Starting point is 00:09:45 We, yeah, we, ja, we ja. No, that is literally not what you just said. Like, that's, that's so infuriating. And like, he had to upset it, and then they were like, that doesn't sound right, you know? We, ja, we, ja, no! That's like me being like, my name is a combination of two syllables. K-T. Kali.
Starting point is 00:10:11 No. I'm Caddy. Caddy. I also immediately have the note, maybe no one should love. Oh. Because she says I love you and he says, I know. And I was like, you do not deserve this woman's love It does he have a Huey Lewis flavor to you? He absolutely does. I mean he's good looking. He's just not good looking but his like it looks like his head got a little smaller than it should have been it there was just like something off
Starting point is 00:10:40 I like a tiny head boy I'm a small headed man It's one of my favorite blues songs. But like, he does like, he's got like, I think it's the hair that gives him like a Huey Lewis flavor. I think so too. And I was just like, really, Tony? Because you're going to end up with David Coverdale. Who's that?
Starting point is 00:11:01 That's the lead singer of a white steak. Oh, I didn't know that. They were married for like three years. Oh boy. I'm sure it was tumultuous. I'm sure it was, no, I'm sure it was built on mutual love and respect. And dancing on Jaguars. Yeah. Jaguar. I feel like, I thing is that Dawkin, people probably don't know that hit, but everybody knows the White Snake hit.
Starting point is 00:11:29 Sure. Yeah. Yeah. And I would say drop it in here, but we can't. No. Just imagine us saying it. They have to do the wijur board in a way that I've never seen a wijur board done before. Where you have to to to to and you've got to not have any alcohol or cigarettes in you. Yeah, that was weird, right? It was just like, I want to touch her knee. Yeah, you're sober knees. And she's like, I want you to touch my knee. With my gross ass nails and your gross ass turquoise ring. Oh, it's so round. Oh, I hate a turquoise ring. Where are we coming down on her nails? They're so long and cokey. There's still, but like everything you do, everything you touch
Starting point is 00:12:11 is going to get in under that nail, you know? Like, it's just a bacteria haven. Don't you think? This is where I have the note. Brenda is smooth. No, he's not. He is absolutely not. He does have a vanity plate of his last name, though. Sinclair. Did not notice that?
Starting point is 00:12:36 I liked it. What a jag. Yeah. So they go to talk to David, who's the spirit of a 10-year-old boy, who died 30 years ago. Oh 30 years? Mm-hmm. I miss that. Okay, yeah. David doesn't show up though. At first, somebody else who says that he's eight years old. And I love that Brandon goes, okay, goodbye. Yeah. Okay, bye-bye. I only speak to David. I won't be lied to.
Starting point is 00:13:05 His relationship with David is a little weird, right? A little... Never mind. It's not going to be okay. It's not going to be okay, so I'm just not going to say it. Reincarnation. They all say that. What the fuck?
Starting point is 00:13:20 That, like, a weird question about returning to the living. Why would that be the first first first first first first first first first first first first first first first first first first first first first first first first first first first first first first first first first first first first first first the first that be the first thing you asked and also can you choose your own parents? That is so good. Why would you ask that? Just to get a dig at Jim when what's wrong Jim you said that you chose the parents you chose? They were alcoholics. What fuck Brandon he didn't mean from that to happen? I know and then Linda takes it out on Jim? She's like this is my furious.. th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th th thus, thus, thus, thus, can, can, can, can, can, can, can, can, can, can, can, can thi, can, can, can thi, can tho, can tho, can, can, can, can, can, can, can, can, can, can, can, can th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th thi, can thi, can thi, can thi, thi thi thi thi thi that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that to happen. I know. And then, Linda takes it out on Jim. She's like, this is my furious face. And it doesn't look furious at all.
Starting point is 00:13:54 So they end up pissing off David or somebody. And all four tires on Brandon Sinclair's car explodes. And the best character in this movie, Lloyd goes, oh, multiple sadnesses. Lloyd should have gotten so many more lines. I was like, what are you doing? Are we cashing in on an Encino man early? What is happening here? He's a pre-Polly Shore, and I love that. Multiple sadnesses. Multiple sadnesses. Meat group! Oh, I fucking love the dirtbag dudes. The one guy that's terrified of Jim. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:40 But Lloyd also does a thing that you know I'm not that into. Hmm. Danglier. Oh yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I'm on a thing that you know I'm not that into. Dangly earring. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. On a construction site, too. Come on. I thought of you the other night where I was at Skulfest and there were so many dangly. I bet that was a dangly earring.
Starting point is 00:14:55 So many dangly. So many dangly. You gotta get down with the note backing you up that she gets furious with Jim and then like, but then she agrees that Jim's the aggrieved party. I was like, but no, he's still a dickhead. They were both dickheads. Yeah. That's the thing, maybe just find another man who isn't either of these two.
Starting point is 00:15:18 Tony, tony. Bad choices. Did you like that the cut, quick cut to the construction site site site site site site site site site site site site site site site to to to to to to to the construction site site site site site site site to to to to the construction site site site site site site site to to the cut, quick cut, to the construction site where there's a fucking work whistle like they're on the Flintstones? Yes, what, like, who is blowing that whistle and for what reason? Because he really jims the foreman but he's already working. Yeah, I don't know. How do we get apart, I get across this is a job the job job job job whistle whistle whistle that's what people know for jobs whistles
Starting point is 00:15:45 Whistles jobs whistles You know like the beginning of all in town by a Billy Joel whistles. Come on let's do this I like Billy Joel. I do like some Billy Joel. Yes same get into the do-up stuff not so much. I just feel like piano man shouldn't be allowed to be played anywhere at any time for any reason. Mm-hmm. I feel the same way about American Pie by Don McLean. Why? You don't have a spare hour to listen to this song? So fucking long. Check out the Madonna version of it. Like doing? Really? Oh, it's terrible. All right. Yeah. We got to the construction site. the thi's looking for his hammer and he l. the. the. the. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. th. the. th. th. th. th. th. th. the thi. thi. thi. thi. th. too. th. th. th. th. thin. thi. th. th. tooom. tooom. tooom. too. too. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh, the. Oh, the. Oh, the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Ohto the construction site, whistle goes off, Jim's looking for his hammer, and he's like, oh, I can't find my hammer, and Lloyd throws a hatchet at him. And I was like,
Starting point is 00:16:30 that's not a hammer, but apparently it's a dual tool? Yeah. I didn't know that was a thing you could have. Jesus. It seems dangerous to like be swinging something that has a sharp edge on the other side. Yeah. Yeah, well, you that that you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you th you don't th th thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee thi thi a sharp edge on the other side. I'm swinging it at yourself. Yeah. Yeah. Well, you don't usually hammer that tight. You want to get a little distance from it? I forgot we're not doing a video anymore and I'm just hitting myself in the shoulder with my own fist to prove a point,
Starting point is 00:16:54 which is not being proved. Uh, uh, huh. Lloyd and Jem were joking around talking about their lives. Telling, this is where he divulges that him and Brandon used to be best buds. Yeah. Do you think Lloyd was jelly? No, Lloyd didn't give it, he was fucking blasted out of his mind. I love Lloyd. Multiple sadnesses.
Starting point is 00:17:19 So they go to have their lunch, you know, the whistle, you know, the whistle just started work, so they're going to have lunch now. Maybe it's the lunch whistle. I don't know, because my job doesn't blow a whistle. We live in Pittsburgh. What was the last time you heard any whistle? Just when someone's being rude on the street, generally. Yeah, yeah. Keep your whistles to yourself, fellas.
Starting point is 00:17:39 Yeah. go and eat under drywall. Mm-hmm. Suspended above them. This movie is a just a series of bad choices. Yeah. And the drywall falls and crushes Lloyd to death. I was shocked. I was shocked. It took you back? I loved it. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:57 Yeah. I was shocked because Jim starts ripping the drywall off of Lloyd as you would do. And he's like, oh, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, tho, tho, tho, tho, and to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the th he's like, oh no Lloyd and jumps on the drywall that's on Lloyd's chest. Lloyd was alive when he did that. He, that may have been what killed him. He spurted blood when he jumped on him. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:15 Oh, poor Lloyd. Oh my god, I fucking hate Jim. He's the worst. There's no one to root for in this movie. Oh no, no, no, other than Rosemary. You want her house to stay intact. And it doesn't, and then she has to fuck, okay, we'll get to that. Her cleaning it up made me very upset. So while he's at work, losing his best friend. His replacement, Brandon, if you will.
Starting point is 00:18:37 He was going to say, his best post-Bost post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post brand. Lindt is at home fucking around with the widgey board on her own. Yeah, because he left, because Brandon left it there, which doesn't seem like something Brandon would do because he seems very emotionally attached to that Wija board. He did leave her a message tink, can you bring it by Friday? I need to use it on Saturday. Yeah, what are you doing? Probably hanging out with Zarbeth I love her. I love her. I'm shocked you don't you to you to you to you to to to to to to th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm thi. I'm th. I'm thi, I'm thi, I'm thi thi, I'm thi thi thi thi, I thi, I th thi, I th thi, I thi, I thi, I th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th th th th th th th thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi. She's a bit much. Yeah, she's the, okay, well anyway, anyway, anyway. So she gets a call, there's a message on the phone that says we got your test results. So she talks to David to find out if she's pregnant or no.
Starting point is 00:19:14 Yeah, she's like, the message is like you can call us until like 1230 and then she looks at the clock but it's like thu 80 the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. It's like, th. It's like, th. It's like, th. T's like, the clock, th. T's like, th. T's like, th. T's like, th. T's like, th. T's like, the th. T's like, th. There's, th. There's, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the, the, the, the the the, the the the the th. th. the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. So, the. So, there I was like it's more o'clock yeah so she asked David about her pregnancy and then knowing that they come back asked if David wants to be her baby did she ask that I miss that David says no because he has a beef with Jim I mean would you want Jim to be your dad I mean would you want to has a beef with Jim. I mean, would you want Jim to be your dad? I mean, would you want to have a baby with Jim? Maybe don't have a fucking baby with Jim? He clearly has mental problems. As we all know, baby's gonna bring that family together.
Starting point is 00:19:57 Sure, nothing strengthens a relationship like a baby. Like dropping a baby bomb in your relationship. Oh my God. Oh my God, again, series of poor decisions. Yeah, just stop chatting with David and all of this goes away. Is this a parable about the future internet to come? You never know who you're talking to on the other side of the screen slash Weja board. We, yeah, yeah, we ja, we ja.
Starting point is 00:20:25 We ja. Uh, ha. Uh, ha. So David tells her that her rings in the sink. She goes and gets it out with a toothbrush that she pulls out of the cabinet, which is one of their toothbrushes. And just puts it back in the cabinet. I was like, wash that off.
Starting point is 00:20:40 You grow that's They pour water out. Yeah, it makes sense. It's a drain. For everyone who's using a, unscrewing a U-joint, have a bucket underneath of it. I also am shocked that she knew how to do that, because I feel like I am more handy than Linda. And I would be like, well, I don't know how then I'll look it up on YouTube. Jim comes home, he's a dick. Yeah, she swears at him, which she never does. It's so uncomfortable when she's like, fuck! Hold on, let me take that again. Fack! Now I'm gonna get it.
Starting point is 00:21:15 That's not it. One more time? Look! There it is. Good work, Tani. But she goes down, because she's not feeling not feeling to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the to the to to the to to the the to to the to the to to to the to the to to feeling well, so she goes down to lay on the waterbed. They have a fucking waterbed. No wonder she feels sick. She's seasick.
Starting point is 00:21:31 She's seasick. Every night she goes to sleep, rocking away. Those things still a thing? Yeah. No. Yeah. Sure. You want me to ask the internet? I they th th th th they th th they they th th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to tho, tho, to tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, thoooooooooooooooooooooooo, thoooooooooooooooo, too, to to to to ask the internet? I thought after they started popping in the 80s that nobody wanted them anymore. How much does a waterbed cost?
Starting point is 00:21:51 How much does a waterbed cost? $50 waterbed? What the fuck? Wellp. Welp. Right in if you have a $50 water bed. And like, I don't know how you're going to get in touch because you're probably drowned in it. It's just water.
Starting point is 00:22:11 No bed. Yeah, right. Oh, I'm sorry. That's your bath. So Lloyd is dead. They go to Lloyd's funeral and continuing on from our Dream Warrior episode, Tony Coutaine is wearing the most inappropriate hat to this funeral. What is it with them? What is going on? No, it is not a good look. It's not a good look. She looks like a backup dancer in Morris Day and the Time.
Starting point is 00:22:37 Things people know. If y'all don't know Jungle Love, go on YouTube, watch that video. Yeah, that's fair. Yeah, yeah, it's good song. What the fuck puts on their baby fador to go to a funeral? I don't know. I guess it's from a different time when you had to wear a hat in church. I don't know. Maybe it's because Lloyd was a jokester.
Starting point is 00:22:57 He would have down too. That's cool. Lloyd's cool. Once he's dead, you have nobody, you know? No, you're gone. You're gone. You're just anchor and rudderless through this movie. And then he kind of started rooting for David when he does cool shit like
Starting point is 00:23:20 throwing a knife and making ketchup run down it. But I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi thi thi thi thi thi thi th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. th. the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. the. thea thea thea thea thea thea thea thea thea thea thea the. the. the. throwing a knife and making ketchup run down it. But I guess it wasn't really David. No, it wasn't. It was, say it, say it all loud. Say it out loud. Hold on, I have to look it up. You're talking about Carlos Malfetor? Malfetor. Malfetor.
Starting point is 00:23:38 Why is that his name? Why did we both through Chef Kiss's figures? No, nah, spicy. But Adeloid's funeral, the world's worst detective shows up. What is his deal? I don't want to be the guy from the exorcist, I guess. But I was like, what the fuck is this? You like magic? I like magic? I like magic.
Starting point is 00:24:04 Can I ask you a question? Does anybody like magic? I like magic. I like to tell you about magic. Can I ask you a question? Yeah. Does anybody like magic? Magicians. Gotcha. Drunk people. Fair. Yeah. People that are drunk on the street in Las Vegas that want to be tricked by Chris Angel
Starting point is 00:24:19 and think he pulled their tooth out. What is that a thing that he does? Yeah, yeah. No! How does he do it? He actually pulls their tooth out of there. And then he stares their camera? Yeah. And then says, mind freak and then he swallows your tooth. And then when he spits it back out it's a bunch of roses. I'm going to figure out how to do that trick. I will be right back. And then their their their their their their their their their their their their their thi. I'm thi. I'm thi. I'll thi. I'll thi. Your mouth is filled with rose petals. Nightmare!
Starting point is 00:24:54 Nangomah has really been freaked. Yeah. Uh, huh. So just escalating at this point, right? So Brandon goes to see Jim at the construction site, which I think is a very pivotal scene. Because first of all, I'm obsessed with Jim's yellow Puma shirt and I want it badly. So if anyone finds one on the internet, can you please send it to me? That is a dope 80ies look.
Starting point is 00:25:18 And he, Brandon is talking to Jim about how... How Linda has become so obsessed with the Weechaboard. Yep. But we have not seen her be obsessed with it. She's used it a couple times. She swore at him. But like I feel like this is a thing that we see in horror movies a lot where we're told that a woman is like becoming very obsessed with something, but we don't actually see it. We just hear men telling us about it. Yeah, for sure. Well she's got progressive entrapment. Progressive entrapment. Stop they say it so many I was like stop fucking saying progressive entrapment. Jim it's progressive entrapment. What does that mean?
Starting point is 00:25:58 They're gonna lock you into an insurance rate that you're not happy with. I know when you just keep saying it over and over and like being like progressive entrapment. Progressive entrapment. It doesn't work if you just keep saying it like you're not going to change my opinion about this. Damn it, Jim, I'm serious. Progressive entrapment. Then the phone rings at the construction site, oh no, Linda's been scared. But it's the landlady making the call, even though Linda's sitting next to her on the couch. Why didn't she make the call? She was too scared.
Starting point is 00:26:28 That's ridiculous. You never did so scared to get you the phone? If I could walk to my landlady's apartment and give her the phone number to call, I think I could make the call. You had to have like your landlady introduce you like your hype man. It's very weird. Put your hands up everybody. It's Linda. She's scared shitless.
Starting point is 00:26:52 Look at that hair. So much hair. Oh, this is also where he refills to Brandon that she's pregnant. Dude, she's pregnant. That's why she's acting like a maniac. Pregnancy is practically insanity. Jim. Jim. Jim. You're gonna be a great dad, Jim. Also the whole thing about Jim never crying. I've known him since he was a child. He's never cried. So? I'm not crying around you either, Brandon. You're just going to keep saying progressive and trapping at me. Honestly. But when you tell someone you love them and they say I know, you should kick their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their thir thir thir thi thi their their their thi. thi. th. th. their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. their their their their their the. their thi. to keep saying progressive and trapping at me. Honestly. But when you tell someone you love them and they say
Starting point is 00:27:26 I know you should kick their ass to the curb you know. You know. You're not Hans Solow. What does he say that? Empire strikes back reference yeah? Who does he say that to? the Princess Lea? It's a princesses back and they're the trace. they's a their. their. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're just just they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're try. I try. I try. I try. I try. I try. I try. I try. I try. I try. I try. I try. I they're they will hear it? Yeah, I don't want to ruin Empire Starks back for anybody. Okay, well you ruined it for me. It's where he's going into the cryogenic chamber and they're gonna freeze him and not be reopened until Return of the Jedi. What are you talking about? I honestly don't know. That's the plot of and bar strikes back. So but he says she says I love you and he goes,
Starting point is 00:28:06 I know. Gross. Yeah I mean it's that gross 80s thing of like you're too tough to have feelings. Gross. Yeah I ain't got time to bleed, pain don't hurt, all that bullshit. You do have time to bleed and pain does hurt. It does. Speaking of pain don't hurt. Yeah. Let's talk about the medium. I love her and I'm really weirded out and disappointed by the fact that you don't like Zara Beth. She is first of all. She's so extra. Her haircut is amazing. She looks great. Her glasses are great. All for clanking accessories are great. She's wearing a denim jacket but of the puffy denim variety. There's a lot a lot of shoulder. Sure. The flaps on the front where the pockets are are covered in
Starting point is 00:28:50 just other buttons. Just other buttons. Just buttons. Just buttons in case she blows a button she's got another button. Right. The back of it is 12 inches of fringe. Yeah. With beads or something. With big beads hanging up that are just banging into every piece of furniture in the house. I love it. And her affectation is just to walk in and go, oh! Yes, she's Krusty the clown and I love her for it because nobody else is really trying that hard. She just keeps saying dumb shit and then going, psychic humor. I thought they were funny. I liked her. I thought she was the best part of this movie next to loy th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th. I th. I th. I th. I then going, psychic humor. I thought they were funny. I liked her. I thought she was the best part of this movie next to Lloyd.
Starting point is 00:29:29 And I wish the two of them had gotten together and had a really nice life somewhere. Would watch that buddy movie of those two just driving around. Yeah. Well, what I loved is, so they go through the seance where she channels channels channels channels channels channels channels channels channels. Right. But it's obviously Carlos Malfietor. Malfator. And... But, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, for some reason.
Starting point is 00:29:56 Hmm. Hmm. Jim has set up a beer can tower in their apartment? Dude, you got a party. But he set that up for the specific seons. Yeah it wasn't there at the party. Why did he do that? So that when Linda stands up and breaks the saunce the beer can towar gets knocked over? It's so silly. It's as silly as lunching under loosely tied up drywall and later conducting a wigi-board session next to the stack of barrels. Yeah. that are that are then then then then th. T th. T. T. T. T. T. T. their their their their their their their th. th. th. the their the the-a their their their the-a-in their their their the-a-a-a-a-in-in-a-in-a-in-in-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-n-n-s the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th-in th-in th-in th-in th-in ta-in ta-cane-cane-cane-canea-s ta-cane-canea-canea-caneanananan-caneanan-sa-caneanananananananananananananananananan-s. ta-s barrels. Yeah, that are like, the problem in this movie is that ropes are unreliable.
Starting point is 00:30:28 When you, ropes and thim balsa wood sticks are very unreliable. Super unreliable. No, fucking idiots. So, after the sands gets ruined, Zara Beth is like, yeah, I gotta go home. Makes another psychic joke. And then she gets like, real serious, and she's like, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, is that, is that, is that's that, is that, is that, is that, is that, is that, is that, is that, is that, is that, is that, is that, is that, is that, is that, is that, is that, is that, is that, is that, is that, is that, is that, is that, is that, is that home. Makes another psychic joke. And then she gets like real serious and she's like, do you know what Malfa Taurus? And Brandon goes, it's Portuguese for evil. How do you fucking know that, Brandon.
Starting point is 00:30:54 Oh my god, yeah. Brandon, it is better to be fun than to know a thing. Brandon is no fucking fun. Oh God, no, the antithesis of. He could not hang with us. When they're laughing earlier later in the movie, I'm just like, that does not fit on you, buddy. No, I don't like it. Please stop laughing. Stop having any sort of joy because it's not for you.
Starting point is 00:31:11 It's for other people. So we go back to her house. And she's going, this is the first stuff. She makes a library use role. She does. She succeeds. She finds Carlos Malfiator. He is a serial killer who only killed with an X. Yeah. What book was it in? Why was it in one of her books? Yeah, it's one of the books. Because he's evil. Mm-hmm. And then she gets ghostaxed and thrown out of a window onto a sundial. And the news, the news, the news, the news, the news, the news, the news, the the the the the the the the the the the the th. And th. And then she gets ghost-axed and thrown out of a window onto a sundial. And the newscast about it is like, we don't know if it's a suicide or a murder. Like, no chance it could have been an accident, huh, newscaster? She also keeps saying T-T-F-N, which I loved, because I feel like that might be the first time the internet speak has been used in a movie.
Starting point is 00:32:06 1987 lock it. Yeah. Tata for now. Tata for now. Um, but that death is really fun because like, she like hits the sundial and then kind of has to like, uh, again to go down. Yeah. Oh man, he says progressive entrapment a few more times. This is where I have the note that says stop saying progressive entrapment. And to. And to the to the th. And to th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. to to to to to to to to th. thi. the. to to to to to lock it to lock it to lock it to lock it lock it lock it. This is where I have the note that says stop saying progressive entrapment. And then what is Brandon's life? And then Brandon is so bad at emoting. Well, so is Jim. So is Tony. Yeah. When Jim later on in the movie cries, you're like, oh, that's why you don't. Yeah, I wouldn't either if it looks like that. I've heard about this ugly ugly this ugly this ugly this ugly this ugly this ugly this ugly th ugly th ugly ugly th ugly ugly th ugly th ugly ugly th ugly th th th th th th th th th thoooooooo- the ugly thoooooooooooooomky that that that too- tho- tooom. too looks like that. I've heard about this ugly cry that the people do.
Starting point is 00:32:46 Then it cuts to the police officer in a car. Is he just eating a lemon? Yeah. Why? He's got scurvy. Oh. Okay. Jim is pissed off, throws the wigi board out of the second story window directly into a trash can. Like this garbage can shall stop David.
Starting point is 00:33:07 Like, okay. Which does lead me to my favorite note that I took during the movie, which was later when Linda goes out to retrieve the wijyboard. And I said she's like some sort of fucked up a cult raccoon. Also she's not pregnant. How do you find that out now? I think so. I think that happens. No, not until she gets hurt. When she gets slammed against the wall. Oh, that's right. They go back, yeah, they go to the house and she's being tossed around the house. Yeah, which is just Tottie contained throwing herself back and forth a little bit. Yeah, it's silly. And then like like the like the cop like the cop like the cop like the cop the cop the cop the cop the cop the cop the cop the cop the cop the cop the cop the cop the cop the cop the cop. the cop. the cop. the cop, the cop, the cop, the cop is just, the cop is just, th. to to to to to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to th. th. th. th. th. th. tho. tho. tho. thooooooooooo. I. I. I. I. to. th. I. th. to. th. to. th. to. it's silly. And then like the the cop is
Starting point is 00:33:45 questioning Jim and he's talking about, because the cop has questioned him after the funeral and now he's questioning him about the death of Zarabath and he's like her throat matches the ropes on the construction site. What? What? No it didn't. that skit you can't, that's not, no. These things were cut with a hatchet. They didn't, like like like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, the, like, the, the, the, the, the, the, the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. these things were cut with a hatchet. They didn't like line them up and go, oh yeah those match. Also it was a try-wall hammer it was never a hatchet but he just keeps saying hatchet. Hatchet. I think Jim calls it a hatchet and like you should fucking know better. So after she gets hurt they find out she's not pregnant. Wait I want to be very clear. She has a mild concussion. Yeah. that does not generally generally thually thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu th. Yeah. That does not generally put you into a coma. Mm-hmm. Okay.
Starting point is 00:34:29 Yeah, yeah, she goes into it. Yeah. Also, we forgot to mention, Jim went to medical school but dropped out and diagnosis her to which a doctor comes from because that was correct diagnosis. Yeah. Hi, five, bro. Good. You were a good tha tha tha tha tha tha that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that th. th. th. th. tho tho tho tho tho to to to too to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to to to to too too too too too too too too too too too too too too too too too. too. too. to be. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. to. to. to. to. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. too. too. too. too. too. Starting point is 00:34:51 Glad she's having a kid with him. Yeah, maybe don't birth his child. Good thing she isn't,to find out about this dude. Because they're going to the Big Bear Public Library because they are Cathulu investigators now. They're going to, I guess, David, where David's buried. Where, yeah, he said he died at Big Bear. He has told Brandon this in the past. I love that they sit down, crack open a can of microfiche, spool it up.
Starting point is 00:35:36 There's the article. Got it, guys. Got it, guys. Got this. I've never used a microfiche. I think it's a hole in my life. I thought as a college person you would would would would would would would would would would would would would would would would would would would would would th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi, I th. thi, I th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I thought as a college person you would have used that. I guess I would just all be on the internet's by that, huh? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. On those metadata librarians putting stuff together for you. Hey Mike. Yeah, I remember using it when I briefly went to college. Some college.
Starting point is 00:36:04 They get find John and Betty. Who are David's parents in the phone book. Yes, let's go find the dead child's parents. But I didn't realize that he had been dead for 30 years, so I guess that's okay. Yeah. Still probably don't want to talk about it. No. Um.
Starting point is 00:36:19 She did these two fucking jag holes. Oh, tiny face and fluffy hair. Get the fuck out of my house. My hole, all of my notes just refer to them as like dick bag, dill hole, dipwad, you know. Ooh, tipwad is a classic. That's a good one. Thank you. So while they're doing this, we have our B story of Linda having a dream where she's in the hospital, and her silk robe is there, which I was very excited. I like that robe.
Starting point is 00:36:47 You know I like that robe. You fuck around with ropes? Yeah. Oh yeah? Oh yeah. Oh yeah, I'm not classy? You think I'm not a class act? I mean, I'm a, I'm just walking around my style. Oh man. Wake up, put your robe on. You are fancy. I know.
Starting point is 00:37:09 Call down for room service? Extremely not fancy. So she's having this dream sequence, where she gets decapitated by Carlos Malfitour. Malfetor. I love it because it just lightly lops her head off. Yeah, just... And her hands go up. E! E! E!
Starting point is 00:37:35 So then we cut to Diffwod and Fartnuckle going to do their wyboarding on a dock because they found out that John and Betty are dead tonight I need to talk to the dead again. Yeah. Next to a pile, not... They've bought a new wija board, but it's in like a sack. And it's like Wanda's Wunderment or something. Yeah, but it's in literally a velvet sack. Yeah, you gotta keep him nice. You ain't got no sack. And the pile the pile the pile? That's all I'm saying. They'd put her right back out on the ice. Yeah. I have had mild concussions. I got arrested. Let me go home. Pro tip, if you get a concussion committing a crime, it's still a crime. You can't concuss your way out of that. No, you can't.
Starting point is 00:38:27 You cannot. So, I really want to hit home whoever fucking stacked these barrels up. This is not what you do with 50 gallon drums. No. You do not stack them one on top of another, not in a pyramid. No, just put them right, just pop, bup, pop, you can't put a you. You. You the the you. You can't. You can't. You can't. You can't. You can't. You can't, you can't, you can't, you can't, you can't, you can't, you can't, you can't, you can't, you can't, you can't, you can't, you can't, you can't, you can't, you can't, you can't, you can't, you can't, you can't, you can't. You can't. You can. You can. You can't. You can. You can. You can. You can. You can. You can. You can. You can. You, you, you, you. You, you. You, you. You, you. You, you th. You. You can't that, you can't that, you can't th No. You do not stack them one on top of another, not in a pyramid. No, just put them right, just pop, pop, pop, pop, pop. And then put a little piece of... You are not an Italian plumber who has to fight a fucking giant gorilla to save your girlfriend. You're not. I don't know if they were dating. I shouldn't put that kind of thing on them. I don't know what Mario. The lady. Starting point is 00:39:05 I don't know. Was the princess? Princess Peach. Oh, OK. Is that the one that's in Donkey Kong? I don't know. Probably. Wait, who doesn't talk about Brandon's shoulder pads in that scene?
Starting point is 00:39:16 Can we talk about that shirt? Can we talk about that shirt? that shirt was th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. to the. the. to the. the. that. the the. the. the. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. the. te. teate. tea. tea. Very big shoulders and very big like a almost like suit jacket collar that he had popped. Yes. But it didn't open in the front. That collar was just, oh it was weird. It was like something the wardrobe department was like, I made this. Can we put it on the movie? I'm try to get this the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the their their their their their their their the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. th. the we put it in the movie? I'm trying to get this thing to pop. He put it on and was like, Oh. It does match my hair. Yeah, it does. Very fluffy.
Starting point is 00:39:53 There's also a very funny scene when they're a very funny line when they're doing the wija board in front of the barrels. Where goes, who is Malfader? And Brandon gets upset and he goes, that's what we're trying to find out. And he goes, David, who is Malfader? And I was like, dude, Jim just fucking asked him. Like, he just fucking asked him. You don't have to be the gatekeeper of David.
Starting point is 00:40:21 They're besties, all right? He's friends with a dead 10-year-old. And he says her. David says her on the Wigebord. And they're like, her or who? And I was like, there's one fucking female actor in this movie. Is it Rosemary? Is it that young girl that's hanging out with Rosemarie for some reason? Right, who is that? Her niece? And they're like, oh, he misspelled it. And I was like, he was spelling share. Do you believe?
Starting point is 00:40:46 I'm sorry, what was that? That was my share impression. Do you believe? That's a great jam. It is strongly not. It's a great jam. Let's put that fucker on, go on a run. Walk by Armands.
Starting point is 00:41:02 And sometimes it's just blasting. The barrels fall down. No one has suspected this was going to happen. No. Even though I have the note, you stupid's move, right. It knocks, branded into the water, and then he gets hatcheted in his fucking face. I loved that. I loved him getting hatcheted in his fucking face. I loved that when he comes out of the water later, the wound is in the wrong spot. And th. And th. And th. And to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. the th. th. the the the th. the the th. the the the the th. the the th. th. th. th. thu. the. the. the. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. theea. the. the. th out of the water later the wound is in the wrong spot. Yep. And also like how that dead body grabbing Jim it grabs him. Then Jim's like I can cry Brandon's death was all worth it. Uh. Jim's all alone. This is what he gets for being a jerk. He is a jerk. He sucks. Then we see Tani Catain just marching through the backyard to get the
Starting point is 00:41:49 Wigebord out of the fucking trash can like, good thing you didn't put it anywhere secure, you know? Good thing you didn't destroy it. Good thing you just like, ugh, Jim. Not only are you stupid, but you're stupid, you know. Oh, super stupid. Did you watch this with subtitles? Uh, I believe I did. Did you get the subtitle, ghost moans? No, maybe I missed it. Oh, that's so good. Who was ghost moaning?
Starting point is 00:42:14 I don't know. There were just like moans in the background and said ghost moans. Grace mined. So this was, it turns out that that that that that that that the house they lived in was car carlos Melfitors He was a mass murderer and he murdered people in this house and now he's gonna kill Everybody because reasons mm-hmm because he mad he evil good when they Jim comes back to the house and for some reason Tony Catane is dressed like Annie Hall and waiting for him. But you're skipping the part where she's like playing with the wigeboard and she goes,
Starting point is 00:42:49 you bastard. And then she's like, I'm gonna take off all my clothes. Oh, when she takes the shower? Yeah. She's like so upset that there's some, maybe some sort of bad thing going on. Then she's like, well, I guess I'll just I'll just I'll just I'll just I'llthis movie, they're like, Bob, no titties? Yeah. Well, I guess we'll have an uncomfortable shower scene. I have a note, I didn't think we were going to get through this without seeing Tony Cotain's boobs, but I was surprised by Bush. Oh yeah. I was surprised that she punched her way to that. Oh, they. Oh, to be. Oh, to be. Oh, they. Oh, to be s s s s s s s. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thea, thea, thea, thea, thee. thee. the's thee. thee. thee, thea, thea, thea, thee, thee, thee, thee, thee, thee, thee, the's the's the's the's the's the's ti. No, the's ti. No, ti. ti. B.'s smart. Yeah. Cotain knows how to get out of the situation. Well, she's a mad student.
Starting point is 00:43:27 Allegedly. Oh my god. So the house is wrecked. She's dressed like Annie Hall. Why is she wearing a suit? Is she supposed to be Malfetor? Is that like, oh, I wore a suit, you wear a suit. I guess. Maybe she's having another party where you have to wear a suit. It's weird that the landlady doesn't catch that the house is being trashed, too. Because like she caught that Linda was scared earlier. Yeah, yeah, there was a loud noise and she came and knocked on the door earlier. Now it looks like 12 cats have gotten pissed off and a house. Yeah. There's all these scratches in the wallpaper. Ah, so she attacks Jim, she attacks the detective. She looks gorgeous. Her hair is so teased out. It looks amazing. And she kind of has like more of a bang thing happening now, which I think is very flattering for her face.
Starting point is 00:44:20 A layered look going on, yeah. Can I ask a question? I have a note that I don't know what it means. Okay. Stab a demon in the butt? Stab a demon in the butt? Do not have any butt stab a demon in the butt. No, I don't know. Well, stab a demon in the butt I guess. I do have the, uh, you haven't figured it out yet? You're the portal, James. But he wasn't, she was. No, I don't know. Well, I. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. the. thea. thea. thea. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the butt, I guess. I do have the, uh, you haven't figured it out yet? You're the portal, James. But he wasn't, she was, right? I thought the board was the whole time. Oh yeah. Because he shoots the wigi board. The last shot of him falling out the window there is just...
Starting point is 00:45:00 So good. What were they doing there? Just a s-mo, it wasn't a nod to the omen when the mom falls off the railing, and there's that beautiful shot of the fishbowl and her. I think it was a nod, what we're doing a nod here? You think so? No, I don't think it was just a shitty looking and falling out of a window. It was silly. Because they cut right before he hits the car that he's falling on top of. Right. And then it goes
Starting point is 00:45:29 to a church and I was, I think you're supposed to think it's a funeral. Yeah. And I was immediately like, ooh, ooh, please don't be a wedding. And then we see the true horror of this movie. They get married. No those bridesmaids to their th, th, th, th, their th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, their, their, their, their, their-a, their, their, their, their, thr-a, thrides, thrides, thr-a, thr-a, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, th. th. th. th. th. th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th. th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, their, thr-s, their, thr-s, their, their, throooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. thr-a, th No, those bridesmaid dresses. Oh, God, I didn't even notice because I was so grossed out by them getting married. They had six-inch tassels at the bottom of them. Hell yeah, so do the bridesmaids in my wedding. Are they really? No. I didn't have a bridesmaids, yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:53 Actually, two days ago, it's um, I was like, oh, another Alan facial hair look. I went through my Confederate general phase. It's a very much a Confederate general phase, yeah, yeah. Yeah. The lemmy, I believe the kids call that. Even with that's the beard connector too? Yeah, okay, I didn't know. I that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's the that's the the the the the the the the that's the the that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the their their their their their their their tha. theared. theared. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. that's a thea. thea. Yeah. that. And that is the, see, the wedding, he's got a neck brace on, and that's the end of the fucking movie. There's one last shot. What is it? It's the board going to...
Starting point is 00:46:30 No, it's not. It's a close-up of the word yes, and then the planchet just spinning over to it. I wrote, oh my Boy, what a film. Katie. Alan. Katie, would you like to go, I'm moving the planchette, I'm moving the planchet. Would you like to go to the ratings phase? No.
Starting point is 00:46:57 Sure. You want to go ahead? You want to desperately to do this movie. This movie is absurd. It's so silly. It's so quintessentially 80s. Plot, plop, plop, plop, plop, we'll get that later. It'll figure itself out in the wash.
Starting point is 00:47:17 It's fun. It's a fun movie. It's goofy. I'm gonna give this a solid six. You can't go wrong watching it, but I'm not strongly suggesting that you watch it. To be fair, you strongly suggested that I watch it because you wanted to do it a couple weeks ago and I said, maybe let's do something else. And then you were like, but what if we do which board now? I was afraid it was going to go away from prime before we got to see it. Well, I got to see it. And I to see it to see it. to see it. to see it. to see it. to see it. to see it. to see it. to see it. I to see it. I to see it. I to see it. I'm, to see it. I'm, to to to to to to to to to th. I'm, thi. I'm, thi. I'm, th. I'm, tho. I'm, tho. I'm, th. I'm, th. I'm, th. I'm, th. I'm, th. I'm, th. I'm, th. I'm, th. I'm, th. I'm, th. I'm, th. I'm, th. I'm, th. I'm, th. I'm, th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm the. I'm thr. I'm to to to to to to to to try. I'm to try. I'm to to to to to to thro. I'm throwne. I'm thr. I got to see it, and I have to say, it was exactly what I thought it was going to be.
Starting point is 00:47:45 And I do think it's peak Allen, so I can't give it a low score because of that. But it is very bad, it is very stupid, and the acting is terrible. There's no plot. The effects aren't great. And most of the subplot is about a man who can't cry. So I'm going to say to say to say to say to say to say to say to say to say to say to say to say to say to say to say to say to say to say to say to say to say, to say, to say, to say, to say, to say, to say, to say, to say, to say, to say, to say, so I'm to to th th th th th th th. th. th th. th th. th th th th. th th. th th. th. th th th. th th th th th th th th to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to th to thi. thi, thi, to thi. to to that to that that to that that that to to to to to to to that that to to thi thi thi. thi. thi. thi. So, so I th say, I know. Ah, fuck it, it's also a six. And the reason I say that is because it's very much you in a movie. It's just my hair. Just my flowing tonicatene hair.
Starting point is 00:48:14 Do we mention that this is directed by Kevin Tenney, who's also the director of Night of the Demons? No? They quickly put in lipstick in her nipple. Oh, fuck that movie. I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I Iipple. Oh, fuck that movie. I was going to say, I've never seen that. But then I remember when we did it, I was like, I've never seen this, and then I was like, when she put the lipstick in her nipple. I was like, oh yeah, I've seen this.
Starting point is 00:48:32 That movie, that movie. I'm like, you do not have object perman Same with Prince of Darkness. It comes up and I'm like, I don't know that one. Oh, that one. You know, Satan, Math, those two things. Oh, Green ooze? My. God, I love that movie. I know that movie. I know you do because we talked about it on this podcast. So we've done Night of the Demons on this podcast. A movie I documentation that you've seen. I know. There's probably an hour of me talking about it. Katie.
Starting point is 00:49:11 Alan. I'd like to take you to a little place. I like to call. Mail bag. Take me there. This is from Greg N. On Facebook. I'm sick and re-listing to some old episodes

Katie and I were talking earlier about how we were uncomfortable early on hearing our voices and editing things. Yeah. Now we see ourselves. Yeah, that's what my face looks like. Whoops. As I've said, a thousand does it for, at least you don't look like Santa Claus.
