Starting point is 00:00:00 I can just read you my first note. It says, L-O-L Michael Ironside. Why does Ironside make you laugh? I don't know, what's he doing in this movie? Getting a fucking paycheck and walking away? I guess so. Putting in a swimming pool for his kids, huh? With this movie, it's probably just like, I need to get the transmission fixed.
Starting point is 00:00:29 Oh, yeah. I love Michael Ironside. Do you? Yeah. What's your favorite Michael Ironside work? Okay. Have you seen scanners? Not in a long time.
Starting point is 00:00:39 He has the power to make people people people people people people people people people people people people people people people people people people people people people people to make to make to to to to to to to to to to to their to to make people's heads blow up by staring at them and going, like he's gonna tell you, like he's gonna be a little dumb. Yeah. Oh, we should do that movie. We haven't done a Cronenberg in a minute. We haven't. Put it on the list. I will. All right, you don't have to do it right now.

You're Canadian, this is Canadian, let's do this! Look, everyone has a prom! This movie is set in America and everyone is so sorry. Yeah, they're super sorry.
Starting point is 00:01:38 It's like just say you're in Canada, no one's gonna be mad about it. I know, I believe that they have high school school in Canada. Especially a Hamilton high school. Right, especially DeGrossy High. Oh, it turns, this movie gets so de Grosy at one point and it's so delightful. Yes. So, the grassy. Oh, so degrossy. Fucking. Drake was going to roll it in his wheelchair at any moment. I loved that. I loved that. That's not my DeGrasy. You watched the early Degrassy. Well, I was Degrassy the next generation because I'm 10 years younger than you. Just like you were Star Trek the next generation. I wasn't either of those things.
Starting point is 00:02:13 I thought you were a big Picard head. Yeah, but I only started watching it like a year ago. It wasn't a nerd. That's true. It was always always always always always always always always always always always always on after after after after after the the the the TV the the TV the TV the TV the TV th. That's the TV the TV the TV the TV t. That's t. That's t. That's t. That's t. That's t. That's t. It t. It's the the t. t. the the the the the next the next. the next. I the next. I the next. I was. It was always on after American Gladiators and I would turn it off. You turn the TV off? What was that like? I wouldn't know. This movie opens on a confessional where a young woman is giving confession to a priest. Yeah. And being real sultry about it. At this point, I am 100% on board, and Mary Lou is my new hero. Yeah, she's pretty cool.
Starting point is 00:02:49 Man, I hated confession. I never done it. Yeah, you're not Catholic. No. They don't make you do this shit in other religions. It seems real uncomfortable. Oh, God, all the time. I'd be like, oh, I swore. Oh, I was mean to my mom. Like, what are you supposed to say? You're 11, you know?
Starting point is 00:03:07 I pushed a baby in the street again. Just make a wild shit because he can't rat on you. He rats on you. He rats on you to Jesus. That's the worst kind of ratting. That's what I said. He can't rat on you. Oh, Jesus. Oh, Jesus. That's the worst. The worst is going to face face face face face face face face face face face face face face face face face face face face face face face face face face face face face face face face face face face face face to face to face to face to face to face the the the the to face the to face the the to face the to to to to to to to to to the the the the the to to to. The worst is going to face-to-face confession where you have to look at them because sometimes the booths with the screens would be taken and you have to go like actually look to the bread. Look at like sit in the room with the priest. He wouldn't even like turn to the side and like get all Jungian on you and look at you right in the. Look at you right in the face in the face in the face in the face in the face in the face in the face the face the face the face the face the face the face. the face. the face. the face. I I the face. I the face. I the face. I the face. I the face. I the face. I the face. I the face. I's. I'm. their. their. their. their. I. their. I. I. I. I their. I. I their. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. And. And. And. And. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. the. to. the. the. the. the. the. I'm. I. I'm. I. the breakfast cereal. I did love that when she's walking up to
Starting point is 00:03:45 Confessional, it was like they were hitting the Gregorian chant and I was like, oh before Anigma, look at you guys getting in early. Absolutely. That's a reference for a couple of people. I agreed with it. I didn't know what it meant, but I did like the chant. Enigma was when they took Gregorian chant and like light dance music and melded the two? Oh! Oh I I I I I I I I I I I I was, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, the the their their their their their their, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, their their their their their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, and like light dance music and melded the two. Oh, there was a, I do remember appearing in like the early 90s when like Gregorian Chants had some sort of like like pop cultural impact. Yeah, yeah, yeah. God damn. That was such a like thing that a mom who watched home shopping network would be into.
Starting point is 00:04:20 Sure. Yeah. Sure. Yeah. Yeah. So Mary Lee goes into the confessional and she's like, I swore, I smoke cigarettes, and I fucked a lot of dudes. And it was radical. Yeah. And then she writes on the inside of the confessional, for a good time, call me my own phone number in lipstick. Which you would never do because it would ruin your lipstick. It's true, but I was just like, oh, I love this movie right now. I love it. I love Mary Lou. She's great. But I have questions about her later.
Starting point is 00:04:52 Okay. I'm also sad that we only get her for the first seven and the last 20 of this movie. The rest of the movie sands Mary Lou, except in spirit. So she goes to her to her to her to her to her to her to her to her to her to her to her to the high their th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th, th, th, tho tho tho. thi, thi, tho. tho. tho. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I, th. I, th. I, th. I, th. I, th. I, th. I, th. I th. I th. I th. I th. th. th. I thi. thi. thi. I thi. thi. I thi. I'm toooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. I spirit. In spirit. So she goes to her high school prom, prom, prom night, with her boyfriend. Who is a young Michael Ironside? Who is a knob? That dude is such a knob. He sucks. He's also 35 years old. Yeah, his hair line is at the back of his head? So do you think he was cast? You're like, well you have iron side's hair thin? Because we couldn't have assumed that Michael Irinside lost his hair at some point. He looked a lot like Michael Ironside though I thought he was well cast as a younger Michael Ironside but not a young enough Michael Ironside. Although he seemed to do like a foot taller than Michael
Starting point is 00:05:35 Yeah Michael I'm, they keep filming him from below to try to make him look taller he's not he's not he's not a he's not he's not he's not he's not he's not he's not he's not he's not he's not he's not he's not he's not he's not he's not he's not he's not he's not he's an an an an an he's an he's an he's he he's he he's not he's he he's he he's he he's he he's not he's not he's not he's he he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he he he he's he he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's not he's not he's not he's not he's not he's not he's not he's not he's he he's not he's an he he's an he he's an he he's an he he's an he he's an he he's an he's an he's an he's an th he's an th th th th th th th th he's an he's an he's an he's an he's not he's he he's he he's he he's he a, yeah. Not a tallman. But yeah, so she goes, that's Billy, Nordham. Billy's like, oh, you're the best. Let me go get you some, some drink. And she's like, yeah, give me some drink. I'll be right here. And she takes off with the. And Young Michael Ironside is like, we were pinned, but I don't know what that means, do you?
Starting point is 00:06:08 Yeah, you would give them like your class pin or whatever. What's a class pin? It's some fucking 1950s horse shit. Oh God. It was, it was a pre-ownership ritual. I see. I see. I see. I thuk it. I love! And even though young Michael Ironside is a knob, I feel a little bad for him. That's a rough, that's a rough prom night.
Starting point is 00:06:29 She also throws a drink on him, like she doesn't just be like, oh you caught me, but actually I'm just gonna keep doing this. She's like, also you're the worst. Like, thrown. She throws a drink thrown drink, thrown drink, thrown drink, thrown drink, thrown drink, thrown right back to Neckin. I'm still team Marylowe this way. All right. I was like, that's a dick move, and I'm kind of into it. I also love that it's meant to be 1957, but everyone looks so 1987.
Starting point is 00:06:52 It's like they didn't even, they were like, this is fine. Play the duop or whatever. What's the 50s? The 50s, the, the, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, like, like, like, like, like, like, like push on her. But they were doing that with like dude's mullets because it was the a-hees. He looks so shitty. He was like, curl Mary Lou's hair. Okay, it's the 50s. And Mary Lou, like a stunning woman. Oh, she's like, God damn Mary Lou. Great skin. And she's making out with a buddy Cooper. Okay. Which will come become relevant later on. Yeah, it took me a while to figure out who that was. Because I'm an idiot. So Billy is spurned by Mary Lou's just DTF with everybody, whoever she wants. Do your thing, Mary Lou. Not if you're in a committed relationship with someone else and they don't agree to it. That's not okay. Fucking, Billy. He shouldn't be in high school anyway. He's an obtb, he's not be right. So Billy goes into the bathroom the bathroom the bathroom the bathroom the bathroom the bathroom the bathroom the bathroom the bathroom the bathroom the bathroom the bathroom the bathroom the bathroom the bathroom the bathroom the bathroom the bathroom the bathroom the bathroom the bathroom the bathroom the bathroom the bathroom the bathroom the bathroom the bathroom the bathroom the bathroom the bathroom the bathroom there's some nerds making stink bombs and this is the first time that we see that everyone in this movie is going to
Starting point is 00:07:48 have the name of a horror director. Yeah. Because they're like oh Romero's coming down the hallway it's the 50s. Did you like how Mr. Craven was like a teenage girl though I was like a little bit rude? And then he vaguely looked like West Craven do that was he known for being a like I don't think so no then you're just slandering him somebody was gonna get it I guess I was like because I've given to John Carpenter I'm much more likely to believe he's gropin' don't you think Carpenter yeah I'm such a stand I'm such a likely to believe he's gropin', don't you think? Carpenter? Yeah. I'm such a stand. I can't think there.
Starting point is 00:08:27 You're right. I was going to say give it to another person who shows up, which is Henellater. Or Henelotter. Yeah, can you get the basket case guy? And I was like, oh,. He should have been the one to feel somebody up. That was the, like, we've seen that trope so many times of like, oh, everybody's got some horror movie guy's last name. But the fact that like, they threw him in there, it was like, oh, I'm back on board. Yeah, that's nice.
Starting point is 00:08:54 Yeah, I love that movie. Yeah, the nerds are making a stink bomb. Billy finds the stink bomb in the trash because they threw it away because Romero was coming. And Romero's like, I'm enjoying a brum kid. He's like not much. Yeah, I mean either. Shit roll it will. fucking role will never last is what he says. So silly. So he grabs the stink bomb and he's gonna throw it on Mary Lou because she is going to be crowned upon prom queen.
Starting point is 00:09:33 Of course she is. Right. Because she's the baddest ass lady in the school. She, I want to describe how she's standing on stage. Her feet are about four feet apart. She's just standing with this power. She's standing like if someone's going to try and tackle her, she's going to be able to stand in.
Starting point is 00:09:51 She's got a wide base at this point, yeah. And a woman's trying to put her cape on her, but she can't get it untied. What did she say? Like, go get the -R you a dingy broad. Bonehead. Get a bone head. And so young Michael Ironsides goes to drop the stink bomb on her and just managed to light her taffeta gown on fire. Her taffeta and kerosene gown. Because it is so flammable.
Starting point is 00:10:18 She goes up like a fucking Roman candle. She does. And there's that great scene of like her screaming and obviously the flames are six feet away from the actress. Why would maybe? You don't want to say you're gonna caught on fire but it's so like they don't have her true because she has to turn around and look back up at him but I don't know how else you could do it. But it was like and he immediately. And he immediately told her and he immediately help her. And they the the the the they the they they they they they the they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they the they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they th. th. th. th. th. to th. to to th the. to the. to to th the. to the. the. the. the. the the Yeah, he definitely murdered her. They call it an accident in the synopsis of this movie and I strongly disagree because if you throw a lit object onto someone and they go up in flames, that's not an accident. No, no, you're not getting mm-mm.
Starting point is 00:10:56 So I have the note Romero is wrong about rock and roll. Yeah, I just wanted to point that out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out that out that out that out that out that out that out that out that out that out th. th. th. just wanted to point that out. It's date. It's a pretty good firewalk as far as firewalks though. It's pretty pretty big. Pretty epic. Fibrent. Yeah. And that's it. That's the end of Mary Lou. Yeah. And this was giving me like a trick-or-treat vibe. Yeah, yeah. I'm getting all that. I'm like, oh, I'm so fucking on board for this. Let's th. Yeah. Yeah. the movie. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I. I. I. Yeah. I's. I's. I's. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. Yeah. I'm. Yeah. I'm. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I. oh, I'm so fucking on board for this. Let's keep going. Let's keep going to see all this movie goes. So we cut to Modern Day, which is 1987. We're at home with Vicki and her Uber religious mother and her like, put upon father. This this trope seems familiar.
Starting point is 00:11:41 Just this reminds you of anything? No, you're not getting any Carrie vibes. No, because she didn't have a dad, see, so it can't be the same thing. It can't be the same it can't be the same thing. It can't be. That's different. So this is different. So thi. tho Vicky looks a lot like Piper Lori. Uh, you think? Yeah. I was like, okay, all right, so we've moved on from like trick or treat, now we're into Carrie. Yeah, into Cary territory. Carretoory. Fuck.
Starting point is 00:12:10 You did it! My portmanteau isn't this has run off on you. Her mom's being a bitch about getting her a new prom dress. Her dad's like, I'll get you a new prom dress and her mom's like, no, you're the worst, you're the worst, you're the worst, you're the worst, you're the worst, you're the worst, you're the worst, you're the worst, you're the worst, you're the worst, you're the worst, the worst, the you're the worst. You smell and you can't have one. Buhh! Christ! And dad's like, well I'm just a big glass of milk, I guess I have to go along with your mother. You've never loved anyone, have you, lady? Why are we dressed like it's the 80s and you're dressed like it's the 30s? Yeah, mom, the dust bowl. She did a weird. She did a very dust bowl. It's. It. It. It. It. It. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the, their. their, their, their, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, the the the th. And, the the the the the the the the the the tha's, the tha. the tha's, tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. And,. It's like, there's no way to make this woman look fruitish except to make her look like the dust bowl just blew her into the house. Honestly.
Starting point is 00:12:52 Oh man. So her mom's giving her a hard time about her boyfriend, Craig. Yeah, the motorcycle guy, Craig. The motorcycle guy, who seems fine really nice and nice young man. He's just a nerd. His dad is Michael ironside, a the the the the thiiii-a is Michael is Michael is Michael is Michael is Michael is Michael is Michael is Michael is Michael is Michael is Michael is Michael is Michael is Michael is Michael is a thi-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-o-ozy-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a. He's just a nerd. His dad is Michael Ironside. Real ballbuster. Who's now the principal? Who's now the principal? Seemingly nothing happened to him for murdering a woman. And he even has a photo of her on the wall of his office. If you, you would be, even if it was genuinely an accident, you'd be haunted. You would not have a photo on your wall. I just loved th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th. I th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. thr. thr just loved her. I just loved her and I don't want to give her up. You know, I no, I murdered her. No, I just don't want to give her up though. Right, just got to keep her in your heart so you can think about murdering her as you did.
Starting point is 00:13:33 Keep her in your heart and her effects in a trunk in their costumes that way, but okay. Also, why does the school of a dungeon? I don't know. I don't know. So Craig gives a, she gets picked up by Craig. He takes her to the diner they'll hang out up. She gets a necklace. Oh, a crucifix, yeah. I love the conversation with her and her girlfriend's like, I don't want to date him. He dresses like a whino.
Starting point is 00:14:08 Cool compliment though, I thought. And I also have to say, I was very invested in their storyline, the two of them. Like, it made me wish I was watching like say anything or like some teen like. It was real cute. It was real cute. It was real cute. It was real cute. I just wanted to be watching that. I remember the like, well, what if I kissed you right now? Oh, conversations. Yeah, I liked them. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:14:28 Let's see what for the moment. Yeah, that was really cute. Yeah. Yeah, that was like one of the like, really like honest feeling. Because there's so much like whack- the rails at multiple times. Oh yeah. So she likes her necklace, they're making out in the diner. She's talking to her friend about the guy that she likes that she doesn't like but he is dressed like a winnow.
Starting point is 00:14:53 Yeah, he's cool. I like his wino look. I also like that he has a room at the school. Why does he have a room. thia. thia. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. Why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, th, the, the, the, the, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their. their. they. they's, they's, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, their. they were like doing so much to make you like him. And then there's just like this heel turn that he does later on in the movie. They're like, oh shit. Well, yeah. So iron size is the principal? The he's let down this son.
Starting point is 00:15:14 Which is a great job for a knob, I want to say. Being a principal. School cop, good for you. I I I I I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, the the they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, th, th, th, th. th. th. th. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, tho, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th. Yeah, it was a movie punk. We see it. There are several movie punks interspersed in this film. Which was also giving me digrassy vibes.
Starting point is 00:15:33 Yep, yep, yep. Just have them in the background. Yeah, with a little dangly earrings so you know that they was kind of an outsider with the big hair and the harem pants. I loved her look. They were herm pants, but all I could think is that she was wearing zoobas walking around the school. Just like real silky zoobas. I guess that's all haremes are really. Zebra strips zoobas. Yeah. Oh man, that's so good. I love when you see zoobas out in the wild. Yeah, I today. I that. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh, that. Oh, that. Oh, that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's their their their their their tho-a-a-a-s. You ever see Zubaz out in the wild? No, I don't. You gotta go to like Giant Eagle at off time. I don't know, just wear your Zubaz.
Starting point is 00:16:13 They're for weightlifting! They're for my sideless, gold's gym sweatshirt. Hell yeah. Gotta show everybody your ribs. my sideless gold's gym sweatshirt that I have. Gotta show everybody your ribs. The soundtrack when Vicky goes into the basement and finds the trunk, very nightmare on Elm Street. Very much so.
Starting point is 00:16:37 Very like squeaky noises. And she's just in a horror basement. It's not a school's basement. So she finds the steamer trunk, she finds the cape and the tiara. Right, because she's looking for something to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the the the the the the the the steamer trunk, she finds the cape and the tiara. Right, because she's looking for something to wear to prom since her mom won't let her buy a dress. So, you're going to the school basement. Well, her friend says there's a bunch of costumes down there from plays. It's, religious.
Starting point is 00:17:05 Right. I mean, her boyfriend gives her a crucifix and she loves it and makes out with him. Which also is like a weird juxtaposition. A very weird juxtaposition. You know I love Jesus. Yeah, thank you for being so thoughtful. But then she's also just like, at one point she turns to someone and just like shut your fucking mouth bitch. Well that's when she's possessed later on. No it's earlier it's before that it is before that. No she's possessed as soon as she finds the Tierra and Kaysa. No, she gets a little touch of possession.
Starting point is 00:17:34 I had no idea that changes things for me. There's like a scoach of possession going on. There's like a scoche of possession. I didn't. There's like. There's like. There's like. There's like. There's like. There's like. There's like. There's like. There's like. There's like. There's like. There's like. There's like. There's like. There's like. There's like. There's like, I's like, I's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it is like, it's like, it's like, it is like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like a th. It's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like and being very like I think she shook it off she shook it off and then her friend unleashes the possession beast when she tries to pry the shitty jewel out of the costume jewelry. No, really? That's the way I read it. Okay. Well my reading of Promnight too. Because I thought it happened when she fell into the blackboard bathtub. You thought that was when the full possession came on. I I I I I th. I th. I th. I th. I the the th. I the the th. I th. I the th. I th. I th. I the the th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. You thought that was when the full possession came on? I thought she was already being weird before then. I thought she was just a teen. Yeah, maybe, maybe, maybe I've reached the age where I just assume teens are possessed. You're like, you're being a ratic, you must be possessed. Hormones are the devil. That's true. That's true. Oh, and we see some tension between Iron Sides and the priest, though we do not realize who the priest is yet. It's not revealed. Right. It takes a minute before you find out that's Buddy Cooper, Priest at Larch. Way more than a minute, and I don't care. I just wasn't paying attention to their names. And here's where we see Jess. Just th th th th th th th th that th that that th th th th th that that th th th th the that the the that the the the that the that that that that that that that's that's where we see, Jess, I mentioned earlier, she was going to talk to her boyfriend, and we find out that he's ghosting her in a very 2015 way to describe things. Sure. But he's left a little something
Starting point is 00:18:54 behind. Oh, she's knocked up. Yeah. She's so sad. And that's where we get the de-grassy moment. It is, it's like sitting with your back against the bath the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th thion's thion's th. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And t. Andassy moment. It is, it's like sitting with your back against the bath, the radiator in the bathroom, yeah. With your hand on your friend's knee, just comforting, and I'm just comforting. Leaving your backpack under the sink. So good. Yeah. And then we see Jess after, like,
Starting point is 00:19:14 like, the iron size being like, hey, I'm going home, just be there, do whatever she wants. And she's trying to pry a jewel off a tiara and that unleashes. I don't know why. That's the question. So I thought that whoever was in possession of the crown got possessed. to the thoo'n't tho'n't tho' tho' tho' tho' tho' tho' tho' tho' tho' tho' thought that. No, I'm wrong. No, I don't know why. That would have made sense, though, wouldn't it? It would.
Starting point is 00:19:46 Yeah, yeah, possessed I don't make sense, for sure. So why does she kill Jess? I don't know. Why does she try three different ways before she decides on throwing her out of window? Yeah, I don't know. She tries to hang her. She does something else to her. She makes it, she pulls that paper cutter up like she's gonna cut her head off. She's gonna decapitate her. And they were like, oh, we don't do not have the money for that. We spent it all on the firewalk.
Starting point is 00:20:11 And then they hang her and she's seemingly dead and then she just gets thrown out of window. Like, done with that?. that? that? that? that? She that? She that? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She's? She's? She's? She's, she? She's? Which I thought was a weird take for him. It was a hot take. Why did he do that? Maybe it's because it was 87, it seemed like a thing to do. I guess. I don't know. But it's like, I don't, like, if I, um, please don't let them do that at my funeral. I won't. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. It th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th. And make. And make. Starting point is 00:20:45 And make sure you set up the hot dog cart and the nacho stand. Okay. I will. Are we living in a fiction where I'm going to outlive you? I mean, you never know when you're gonna die. I just want to make sure there's snacks. Oh, for sure. .
Starting point is 00:20:57 .. Oh, I. they. they. they. Yeah. I. th. I. th. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I'll. I'll. I'll. I'll. I'll. I'll. I'll. Oh no no yeah that's charge it to the estate I'm dead I don't try loose. This is where I have the note is the priest the dude she made out with oh snap. Oh you figured it out that I don't know I don't know I don't you you you you to pay you you you you you to pay you you you to pay I to pay I to pay I they they they they they th I think I th I think I think I think I th I th I th I th I th I th I th I th th th to to pay I to pay I to th th th th I th th to to to pay I to pay I to th I to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to th I th I th I th I th I th I th I th I th I th I th I th th th th th th th th th th th th th the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th priest the dude she made out with? Oh snap! Oh you figured it out there. How did you figure it out? I don't know. I don't know either. Who cares? I think because there was like, eh? Meh, me eh?
Starting point is 00:21:29 Looks going back and forth and I was like, well, who else? They were glaring at each other, yeah. Oh no, they were doing the thing where they were, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, the. the. the. the. the. th. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they're. the. they. Oh, right. And I think they did that with Buddy Cooper as well. Maybe that's, yeah. We don't want to leave anybody in the dark hair. So this guy is this guy. And that's, I had a question for you. Yeah. So she committed a suicide. I thought you couldn't go to the thea canon, that you can't. I think you go to purgatory. I think you just hang out there indefinitely.
Starting point is 00:22:07 Yeah, until later. But I don't, like, why don't, yeah, I don't know. I've never been real clear on these rules. Catholic in name only. I mean, I'm not even. I guess I've been confirmed. Yeah. So I'm the Catholic.
Starting point is 00:22:23 I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, th, I'm Catholic for life. I'm always going to be Presbyterian. Forever. Because they, they drips some water before him when I was a baby. Oh wow, you got in when you're a baby, when you're Catholic, they make you pretend again in high school. So, sacraments! Sacraments! I always thought it was like, thanks. I thought it was like, what are you, what is it, CCD? Is that the?
Starting point is 00:22:45 CCD is what you have to go to when you're a child for, but to be confirmed, you have to go to a bunch of classes to like cement your love for the Catholic Church. Schools for losers, the like weird visions, so I guess you're right, I should have. But like, they don't tie it. First of all, they're cool. When she's in the cafeteria and it's like a weird flashback, dirty cockroach. Very Friday the 13th, or very nightmare.
Starting point is 00:23:14 Nell Street. Very nightmare. I loved it though. I thought it looked great. It also reminded me of a bit to be a to be a to be a to be a to be a to be a to be a to be a to be a to be a to be a th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. And thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thiiiiiiiiiia thea thea thea thia thia thia thi. thi rent and beetle juice. Yeah, for sure. Like a very not colorful beetle juice. Yeah. But why does that happen? She got that possession. But why is that what's the result of the possession?
Starting point is 00:23:36 I have, like, is she seeing the hell that Mary Lou is in? I guess. Although at the end Mary Lou says there's nothing after you die because he's like I thought there'd be wings like which she's yelling at people. Oh that's what she meant. Yeah. I see. I mean whatever. We see this like weird her seeing like a different an augmented reality. Yes of like mean cafeteria ladies, which seems like regular reality. But they're all like covered in dirt
Starting point is 00:24:10 and they're feeding people cockroach. Yeah, just like glop and slime and muck. It's very good. Although the thing that they're pulling out of the terrine just look like noodle soup. Yeah, it was chicken noodle soup for sure. I'd eat it. And then we see iron sides going down to the basement. So the basement at the bottom of the steps, it has this like great door, like grated, like a fencing great sort of thing.
Starting point is 00:24:36 It wasn't that great. It wasn't fabulous or anything. But he like walks up to it, puts his fingers through and goes, Oh, it was like, ooh, did he just, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he he just, he just, he just, he just, he just finished. Oh, the steps they give me every time. And he comes down and slams the trunk shut. Yeah, why did he, did he know any of this was going to happen? Who knows?
Starting point is 00:25:00 So then it cuts to the gym class, which I'm obsessed with their gym class. They're all wearing like long flowing headbands and wearing spandex over like t-shirts and drinking Diet Pepsi and it is literally like a music video. Like they were gonna jazzercise at some point. It looks like the, yes, it looks like they belong in a video of like the, oh Mickey, you're so fine, ilk, you know. Or Olivia Newton John's gonna come in and leave a class at some point. It's amazing.
Starting point is 00:25:31 Yeah. And so they're playing volleyball. And Kelly, who is the, who is in the running for prom queen and and very serious about winning it. Spikes the ball into her head or something. She walks away with it because it's Vicki's turn to serve her. She picks up her diet Pepsi, which is like such a cool thing to do. And just full force wings it into Vicki's head and is just staring at her and takes it
Starting point is 00:25:56 right between the eyes and it's fucking hilarious. It's very funny. So she hits the ground and has this vision of like playing v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v v. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. I thi, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like th. And, like th. And, like th. And, like th. And, like th. And, like th. And, like th. And, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, thi. And thi. And thi. And, thi. And, thi. And, thi. And, thi. And, thi. And, thi. And, thi. and has this vision of like playing volleyball with like ghost girls which I thought were really good. I thought they were super spooky. I liked that a lot. I was giving me like a like a Juwan vibes like those like ghost girls in Juvene, the Japanese ghost movie. Yeah. There's the girls that are haunting the other girl and they keep like popping up in her window and staring at her.
Starting point is 00:26:27 . I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I no I don. I don. Oh, right. Okay, she is possessed. Yeah. Man, I dropped the ball on this one. I whipped the ball at this one. The next note I have is V V V V V V V V V V V is is is is is is is is is is is is V. And. And. And. And..................................................................... cool. Vicki's dad asks Craig if he'll stay for dinner and her mom's like, no! And the dad's like, well, women! A glass of
Starting point is 00:26:52 milk can't say no! Well, see you later then. Craig seems like a nice enough kid. He does, he does. Although his eyes are very far apart, which I know I complained about John Hurd's eyes being too close together, but Craig is straight wall-eyed. He's just watching up for predators. Yeah, yeah, it's natural defenses. So is this when the horse thing happens? Yeah, yeah, yeah, fuck it, I hate it, I hate it. to tell me about the horse. So she hasn't.
Starting point is 00:27:23 Did you know the scene was in this movie? No. You ever seen this movie before? Okay, okay. Yeah. This was a thing that like, uh, like, Kill by Kill podcast has done three episodes, or like, three hour long episodes about this movie. Oh my gosh. And like, if I remember correctly, we both really enjoyed how shitty prom night was. Yeah, I don't remember anything about it except the Jamie the Curtis dancing. Disco dancing sound, the soundtrack was, prom night. Everything is all right. That's all I remember.
Starting point is 00:27:57 And she was like smoothing on her brother or something. She was. Don't you remember the guy smoking weed in his van with the lady? No, gone. They were real fun. Yeah. How'd that one end? It ended where, it was her brother that was running around killing everybody. Why was he doing that? I don't remember. Ah, jeez. This is our horror movie comedy podcast. It's heavy on the comedy, late on the horror movies. And none existed on the comedy light on the horror movies. And nonexistent on the remembering portion of things.
Starting point is 00:28:28 Gone. So, she's got this giant rocking horse in her bedroom. I mean, it's like a full horse. It's a stallion. Yeah. And it is vainly as fuck. It's like a dick, vane. It's like a face looks like a fucking vane dick. It's like a fainty thing. It's vainly as fuck. It's like a dick, vaney. It's like its face looks like a fucking vainy dick.
Starting point is 00:28:49 It looks like a fainty dick and I hate it. It's a horse and it's a vainy dick and it's horrible. It's horrible. So we see Vicky lay in her bed and all of a sudden there's groping hands under her covers. Under her satin sheets, which I found it very ridiculous that this like this religious family's teenage daughter has satin sheets because you know that makes you want to fuck. Or fall out of bed. Whoa, whoa, whoa! You get in and just slide right off the boo! Oh, fuck it! I hate it! Describe the horse, I'm just going to sit back and let you do it. So the the rocking horse like starts it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like, it's like, it's like, like, like, like the like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, it's like, like, like, it's like, it's like, it's, like, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, like, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, this, thiscribe the horse. I'm just going to sit back and let
Starting point is 00:29:25 you do it. So the rocking horse like starts, it's like animatronic and it starts like looking on it and you're going, ah, ha ha ha. Way to do that! And it makes real angry face. It gets red eyes. Like all horses have, if you look at them in the right light. I don't, when its tongue is lulling t its mouth and drooling. I thought it was licking her hand. That happens later. Okay, okay, sorry. When she's riding on the back of it and it's like she's got her finger in its mouth and it's licking. Oh right, oh my god, why?
Starting point is 00:29:54 Why did that happen? Uh, Vicky, we're just going to need you to do a little light fuckinging, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, the to, the to, the the to, the to, the the to, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, the thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, their, their, their, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. thi. thi. to to tooi. tooi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi., just gently. Oh no. And this is also when we get the priest doing the exorcism? Oh, above Mary Lou's grave. How does he know that something bad is happening? Yeah, forget. I don't know. I go from the horse is so vain to back to Mary Lou's grave.
Starting point is 00:30:23 And he's saying stuff in Latin and keep saying Excalibur. Yes, he does, yes, he does. And I thought, does that mean something else? Doesn't? I don't know. I don't think so. I ain't no many to say. I was like, that doesn't even sound Latin.
Starting point is 00:30:40 No, it doesn't. It doesn't. But you know, Latin is the most dangerous languages. He could have been like a 87 Oldsmobile. Excalibur. Lightly used. Uh, and then he just, for the next 23 minutes, says the body of Christ compels you. Yeah, and then the Bible bursts into sparks. Not really flames. Oh my God, why does the Bible explode?
Starting point is 00:31:08 Explodes. I don't know. What was the Bible made under the same material or trespass? Tapida, kerosene, Bibles, all extremely flammable. Oh man. So the priest goes to iron side and says Mary Lee was back. Right, he has this like these priecy theories about how the dead will arise and enter your body, but he's saying it like he's like like like like like like it like it like the like the like the like the like the like the like the Bible like the Bible the Bible the Bible the Bible the Bible the Bible the Bible explode explode explode explode explode explode explode explode explode explode explode explode. It the Bible explode. It the Bible explode. It explode. It explode. It explode. It explodes. It explode. It explode. the. It explodes. Why. the Bible explode. the Bible explode explode. the Bible explode explode explode. the Bible explode explode. It explode. It explode. It explode. It explode. It explode. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like. He has this like these priestly theories about how the dead will arise and enter your body but he's saying it like he got it from the Bible like he has some sort of religious authority that this will happen. Right. It's really not how it works. I don't think. I'm not a priest. I don't know but I don't think. It sounded more like he had read it in weekly world news at the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. thi thi treel. treel. toyl. toyl. toyl. I thi tha. toyl. toyl. th. tha. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi th. thi thi th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. toy. toy. toy. toy. te. te. te. teeeeeeea. teeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeea. tea. tea. te. te. And he's just like tapping it with his hand, but he's holding this like giant tome like... Well he had to have the big one because his tiny one exploded. Oh that's true. So Kelly goes up to the kid who
Starting point is 00:31:56 dressed like a wino. He doesn't have a name, does he? I don't think so. And says, I want you to rig the the computer voting. Because the phrase the th th th th th th th th is th is th is th is th. th. th. th. to to to to to th. the th. the th. the th. the the the thi thi. the to the to to to thi the the the to to to to tooen. tooen the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. to. to. to. toe toe. tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. to. too. to. to. t rig the election for me. No, she says rig the computer voting. Because the phrase computer voting made me laugh a bunch of times. Like I get it, it's 1987, but it's very funny. You're rig the, it's ridiculous. Computer voting. Oh my God. And this is when I think Vicki is starting to say like, fuck you bitched everybody. Boy I wish I had caught that. the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the th. th. th. th. th. the th. th. to. I'd, the the to. I'd, to. I'd, the to. I'd, to. I'd, to. I'd. I'd. I'd, toe. I'd, toe. I'd. I'd. Oh we got a little taste of her mirror like having hands coming through it.
Starting point is 00:32:30 That's right. That's later going to be the big chalkboard scene of someone, someone writes help me backwards on the chalkboard. And when she goes up to touch the chalkboard, there's just really great special effect of it being water that she falls into it. I loved the letters the letters the letters the letters the letters the letters the letters the letters the letters the letters the letters the letters the letters the letters the letter the letter the letter the letter the letter the letter the letterboard, there's just really great special effect of it being water that she falls into it. I loved the letters moving around even though the letter C kept popping up and I said, oh yeah, guys there's not that many letters in this sentence. Apparently that was the most expensive special effect on the set. They had to do it so obviously the water was flat because that's how water works. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You can't just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just th. just just just just just just th th th th just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just. the the th. th. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that, that, the. the. the. the. the. the. the water was flat because that's how water works. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You can't just hang it on a wall.
Starting point is 00:33:05 Film it so that it looks like she's walking up to it and still have it flat. So it apparently cost him $2,000 an hour to do this special effect. That in 1987 money is like a lot more now. Yeah, like at least $3,000. It's gonna be like 5,500? Wow. Maybe. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:33:26 Can't do the math in my head. But still, it's a, it's pretty crazy. Like, did that whole like of her falling into it? Like, I really enjoyed that. It looks really cool. Yeah. And that was giving me, uh, John Carpenter's Prince of Darkness vibes when someone like falls into the mirror and it's a water and the devil's in there. Oh my god, I hate that movie. What year was that? It would have been about this time. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I hate that movie. It's so bad.
Starting point is 00:33:53 Even now I couldn't tell you what it's about. A green thing in a basement. It's about like what it's like Satan and math. And there's like bad guys outside I sort of. And there. the the the there's like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, th. th. th. th. that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, th. th. th like, like, like, like, like, like, like, remember. Uh-huh. And one of, uh, do you watch Brooklyn 99? Yes, I do. I love Brooklyn 99. So there's the two, like dopey cops? Yeah. The bald-headed one? Yeah. Really?
Starting point is 00:34:15 I think he's also in Poulter guys. Hitchcock? Hitchcock? That's so funny. It's real weird. I'm never going to go back and re-watch it, so I won't know. I can lend you the DVD if you want to. I don't want to. No, no, no, I want to, I'm not going to do it. It's on a really bad movie.
Starting point is 00:34:31 So is this when we get the... No, this isn't this whole time who doesn't want to make out with the wine. Although she secretly does. Oh yeah so we see she kills Mr. Craven first or not it kills him but she he Mr. Craven touches her butt and then she like blasts him into the chalkboard and that's how we know that she's like super fucked and also her hair is way more crimped than it was before. It is insane. It is th. It is th. It is th. It is th. It is th. It is th. It is th. It is th. It is th. It is th. It is insane. It is insane. It is insane. It is insane. It is insane. It is insane. It is insane. It is insane is insane is insane is insane is insane is insane is insane is insane is insane. thi. It is insane is insane is insane is insane is is is is is is is is is is is is is is to be. It is is is is to be. It is. It is th. It is th. It is th. It is th. It is th. It is th. It is th. It is. It is. It is. It is. It is. It is. It is. It is. It is. It is. It is. It is. It is. It is. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's th. It's th. It's th. And th. And thi. And thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. before. It is insanely crimped at one point. I love the locker room scene where she, it's like full frontal for a long time. A long walking scene.
Starting point is 00:35:11 Yeah. And she's wearing this long crimped, thrown hair and she's in the showers, but like they can't have the water touch, because you know they couldn and be totally bone dry. It just can't be. Her friend is soaked. She's just like, my hair is not wet. If you notice when there's like that weird interaction with the shower, there's no water running. Oh, I didn't notice.
Starting point is 00:35:32 No, I believe it. The shower's like filled with steam and there's no water running anywhere. You barred Andrew Tully. But her friends, like, you did that to Mr. Craven. She like figured it out. You just jump into your weird friend who has psychic powers? Don't think I would have gone there, but okay. Like, would Mr. Craven have just done that to Vicky? Like, was he just doing that all the time? Like, that's a weird touch.
Starting point is 00:35:59 But like, why had she never done anything about it in the past? I mean, I'm not victim blaming of don't get me wrong But it doesn't seem like you could do that to a girl like Vicky and have her not report you sure You know what I'm saying? That's all I'm saying. Yeah. I don't know. Yeah. It was just a weird touch to have mr. Craven? Yeah, in like a very practiced way to do it. Yeah, in like a very practiced way? Yeah, the the the the f f. the f. the f. the f. the f. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's th. th. th. the the the the the the the th. the th. th. th. that's all that's all that's all that's all that's that's that's that's that's th., Mr. Craven? Anyway, so there's like a chase scene around the locker room. Yeah, a dual full frontal chase scene around the locker room. And her friend hides in a locker. I loved this. This is the greatest scene in this movie. Describe it. So her friend hides in the locker, and Vicki goes and stands out in the locker
Starting point is 00:36:43 and is just staring at it for a while, and the lockers on the other the other side the other side side the other side side side side side the other side the other side side side side side the other side side side side the other the other the other the other the other side side side side side the other in front of the locker and is just staring at it for a while, and the lockers on the other side of it crushed together. It makes the worst squishing sound. And then a human slurry pours out of that locker and it's so fucking good. It's really good. It just looks like a meaty milkshake. And I was upset by it because I was really invested in her love story. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. It fucking ridiculous. It is absurd. And it looks cool. It's like a great animation or whatever, you know. Oh, she burnt Mr. Craven's dick with the Bunsen burner flame. Oh, that's right. And knocked him into the
Starting point is 00:37:15 board. Yeah. I do like that when Vicki's walking around naked in the basement, it's just like she's doing it for a while and then all of a sudden she has a towel on, she's like, I'm done. I'm done with this. Your hour is up. This is where I have the note, what's she doing with that horse? I don't know. This is when the horse is looking your god-dame fingers. Yeah. kissing her dad, who talks about how he was repossessing cars as a job. I was like, what is this meant to say to us? What is the story here? Like, what are we supposed to take away from this?
Starting point is 00:37:50 There's nothing about that guy that said repo man. Uh-uh. I've known a few repo men in my way. Oh, yeah. Oh, man. I've known some roughthe WWF circle like 1991. If that guy showed up at your house it was like, I want to take your card and go. No. No, I'm sorry. I gotta go. Gotta go. Uh, yeah. Yeah, she starts making out with her dad.
Starting point is 00:38:13 It's so fucked up. He is a hundred percent into it. He is a hundred percent into it. It's like, why'd you do this movie? Yeah. Why do we do, why are we doing this? Why are you doing this? Like you could have this, her do that and her father be like, what the fuck is wrong with you? Not like, after she's done, like, rubbing his lips. Oh no, no, I hate it.
Starting point is 00:38:36 And mom catches her, Beth Sheba, like,. Beth Sheba. Beth Sheba. It was a biblical man the Camden of Mines. Beth Sheba is not a biblical name. Moses! You, Moses! Noah, end your ark! So she like, what did she do to her mom?
Starting point is 00:39:06 The next one I have says, to be fair, her mom had that coming, but I don't know what she does. She brain pushes mom out the front door, I believe her out the window or something. It's good. Iron size has a dream that she's going to kill Craig. Yeah, and she does hurt Craig's not, he's not. I don't even remember everything's okay Craig's not dead I don't remember how she hurts him doesn't matter me neither and she's also so now she's got this new dress on for the prom and she is strutting her stuff and it's funny because the dress is very doughty yeah it's like not sexy at all it's like your mom wore it to her cousin's a wedding in 1987 it's also like when the to be to to to to to to to to to to to to to to th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th thi thi. thi. thi. the. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. So th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. th. th. th. th. the. thi. thi's to to to to to to to to to to to to to the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. to her cousin's wedding in 1987. It's also like when earlier in the movie when she's like fully possessed by
Starting point is 00:39:47 Mary Lou and she's like being shitty to everybody, she's dressed like sock hoppy. Yeah, yeah, but like it's like, what if you didn't have access to those clothes? Yeah, right. She's wearing like, I don't know, like a doily like sort of dress that's too long to be that vibe? It's floor floor like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like th th th th th th, like, like th, like, like th, like th, like, like, like, like, like, like, I th, I th, like, like, like, like, like, like, I thi thi. thi. thi. thi, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, I thi. Like, I thi. Like, I thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. that's too long to be that vibe. It's floor length, which is interesting because Mary Lou would not have worn a floor length skirt ever, ever. Then there's a scene where Ironside digs up Mary Lou's grave? And the priest is in the grave. And I was like, he must have really taken that conversation seriously about the dead,
Starting point is 00:40:20 the dead, their body. Because he just literally went right to her and found his body and then is just like hugging the corpse of his dead nemesis. Also, oh that's when, because Vicky killed him because she went to confess and was like, you know, I've slept with boys. Oh yeah. Would you fuck me? Oh yeah. And then he takes the cross down and holds it up to her and she kicks the wall out between them and kills him with the cross. That is dope. Fucking dope. Super dope. I also think it would be so satisfying to kick down the wall of a confessional. Oh yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:50 Do you remember a couple years ago there was like this trend of like people like making rooms that you could go in and smash stuff? Yeah, yeah. And there should be that option. I feel like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thoom, thoom, thoing. thoing. thoom. thoom. thoom. tho. tho. th. the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. to. to. to. to. tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. F. to. to be that option. I'm just like, here's a confessional. Do your worst. I feel like people would just start sobbing in there. It would break one of two ways, I guess. Yeah. Ironside knocks his own son out to keep him from going to the prom. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:16 Kelly. She wants to rig the computer voting. So she goes to the nerd and he's like... In his office, in the school. I told you the only way that I would do this. Which I don't remember him saying that to her. No, he looked like he'd like, he'd like, because she had offered him $100. before, and he says, here's my offer. Oh, but he types something on a calculator. So you type 80085?
Starting point is 00:41:47 80085. That's boobs. But did he just like seven and eight? So when he turned it upside down it was BJ? I don't know. I don't know. It's like he pushes on a lot of buttons though. So I thought, wow, he's asking for a lot of money. And she was like, that's way, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's th, th, th, that's that, that, that, that, that, th. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, thi. 8, thi. 8, thi. 8, thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th.8, th.8, th.8, th.8, th.8, th.8, th.8, th.8, thi. th of buttons though, so I thought, wow, he's asking for a lot
Starting point is 00:42:05 of money. And she was like, that's way too much money. I didn't get that at all. So but she's like, I told you what I need. And she just brings out a thing of fucking bonaca. And I was like, that is a blast. I was a kid. Do you think you could still buy Benaka? No, I hope not. I would hope not to. We did use it as a defensive weapon when I was a kid.
Starting point is 00:42:27 Really? Hey, you can spray people's eyes. She can hear me the tick. She gives him a beager. Yeah. Like, her boyfriend is a real fucking dick. She says to him, you have a drinking problem. I get drunk. I think the problem? And I like that, I do like that. That is an iron on shirt, waiting.
Starting point is 00:42:47 Yeah, I think my dad had that shirt. Catch it in our tea public store. Oh, she comes back upstairs after the computer voting. And her boyfriend's trying to kiss her and she's like, eh, uh any more of that gum your breast smell is great. Oh God. And then when she loses the the voting because shocking to everyone Vicky wins. Yeah. Somebody goes, hey how'd you blow it? It's just like I get it now. You don't have to keep saying it but okay. Okay so Vicki wins prom queen. She does. But the principal is up on the catwalk again, but this time he's a fucking gun. Oh, what's he do with that gun? What does he do with that
Starting point is 00:43:30 gun? He shoots Vicky like 10 times. Shows Vicky like 10 times in front of the entire student body. So full confession? Yeah. If you could put the blind no, I'm going to look you right in the eyes. No! Up until this point I'm like, this movie's kind of dragging a little bit for me, like there's some good stuff, but like, so Vicki goes down for the count because she's been shot. Mary Lou rips out of Vicki's chest, and I am 1,000 percent back on board. She rips through her arm kind of like bursts through her chest in front of all of these people, all of these people, just on stage, which I like a lot. I like that it's like, fuck you, I'm doing this right now.
Starting point is 00:44:14 And then we get the, this movie should have been sued by Brian de Palmasine? Because it's just full on carrying. It is. the doors lock, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thoom's, thi, thi, thoom's, thoom's, tho, tho, thi, thi, thi, thi, tho, tho, tho, thus, tho, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, theeea, thoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, tha. It is. All the doors lock. Fires are started. People are being blown up with minds. All the neon lights start exploded. They had a huge neon budget for this prom. I cannot imagine that prom had that much money. Anyway.
Starting point is 00:44:36 I do like the scene where O'Kelly's last name was Head and Loader. I like the scene where the nerd guy is at his computer fixing the vote and Vicki electrocutes him through the computer. I thought that looked really cool. Yeah, it's cool. So yeah, she's Mary Lou's back. But Kelly is like running and like falls into a table and then the table breaks and something impales her. I forget what. Oh yeah. But like why did she even, it was just like she was just running and fell. I don't know. And yeah. So Mary Lou crawls out looking like a burnt-up, gross-ass demon person. Yeah. And then kind of like starts to look more well. It seemed like the more people she killed, the healthier she got.
Starting point is 00:45:17 Got it, yeah, yeah. And then she's back to full-on beautiful lady. And then the movie kind of errors in believing that we we we we that we that we that we that we that we that we that we that we that we that we that we that we that we that that that that the movie kind of errors in believing that we care about Craig in like any meaningful way because we're like, we think Vicky's dead, we're like rooting for Craig to live and not at that point I'm like, yeah whatever, you know. He's not a final girl. No, no. It's not even a final Craig. No. I do hate like that they have a catchphrase for her that she keeps using. Which is. See you later. I like when she pauses for a long. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the the the the the th. th. the. the. the. the the theee. theeeee. the. the. the. the. thi. thi. the. I like when she pauses for a long time. See you later. Wait for it, wait for it, they know what's coming, they're kidding. They're so excited right now. So excited right now. It's so silly. It's extremely silly. Yeah. Also like when Vicki comes back as a do, as a like sock-hop girl, she's like calling people bonehead and like saying things are swell. It's really silly. It's so silly.
Starting point is 00:46:08 And she's listening to duop music on her like little handheld radio. And her friend picks up and slams on the ground. I loved that. She turned it off a couple times and Vicky kept turning it back on. She was like, fuck it. I'm going full toddler mode. This is Mary Lou, Mary the thuuuu this is breaking. What is Mary Lou tricked Craig into the trunk? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:27 Um, I don't know. Oh, Billy, then, principal, like, crowns Mary Lou. They kiss, her grave explodes. He's like actually making out with her. I felt that was very strange. Do you think that grown-ass man making out with a child was weird? Especially after he murdered her thirtirt and like she had spurned him. It just felt like a weird choice for him
Starting point is 00:46:48 to be like, I'll stick my tongue in that mouth. It's so weird. He's really making out with her. Can I read you my next note? Yeah. You think Craig and Vicki disappointed to see that Vicky had lived. I knew she had to but I was disappointed. Oh man. And then, okay so then we see it's outside the prom, there's cops, we're like seeing a news broadcast basically and the cops like, I don't know what we got here, something strange, like... But he's like real mad about that. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:27 And not concerned, she's like, I don't know what's going on, these goddamn kids. These goddamn kids, like bunch of dead. So, iron side comes up, he's like, hey, let me help you guys. Let me take you guys on. Yeah, so Craig and Vicki get into the back seat of his car. Well, I wonder if this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this th th th th th th th th is th is th is th is th is thi thi thi thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, I'm to be to be thi, to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to to to thi, I's thi. I's going is going is going is going is going is going is going is going is going is going is going is going is going is going is going is going is going to to to to to to to to to to to to to th. I's th. I's th. I's th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. I thi. I to to be to be to be to be to to to to be to to be to to be to be to to to to to to to the thi. thi. thi. I's murdered her mother. Or that she's made up with her dad. Oh my god, it's gonna be so weird for her when she gets home. But luckily, she's probably not gonna get there.
Starting point is 00:47:53 Because I'm in size turns around and he's like, I'm the Mary Lou now, dog? Yeah. I kind of love an unhappy ending, you know? And they drive away and his license plate is Mary Lou too. I did not love that. That's the movie. So, okay, so when I watched it, I was like, I'm enjoying the hell out of this movie. And then when we started talking about it, I pulled, I googled it so that I could get the Wikipedia, synops of it, and I saw that it has a 36 on rotten tomatoes and I thought well it seems really low. Yeah. And now we've talked about it I'm like oh yeah that's a lie.
Starting point is 00:48:28 It's fucking ridiculous. It's really fun. It is really fun. You want to go to the ratings space? Yeah you go. All right. I wonder had I seen this movie when I was 14 years old, 15 years old? Yeah if it would have had a different impact on me than seeing it at 45. I love the first seven minutes and I really liked a lot of the last 20 minutes. Kind of lost me for a while in the center there was some cool stuff. There was the best death of the human slurry, that was great. Yeah. I'm gonna give this a seven. I'm putting it on par with the Hell House too. Okay. Okay. I mean you you you you you you you you you you you you you could you you could you could you could you could you could you could you could you could you could you could you could you could you could you could you could you could you could you could you could you could you could you could you could you could you could you could you could you could you could you could you could you could the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the the the the the the the the the the the on par with the Hell House too. Okay, okay. I mean, you could do worse, but it's like, it's fine.
Starting point is 00:49:09 I mean, it's as fine as any like the lower-tiered Freddie movies. Absolutely. I think it's better than those actually, because the lower-tier Freddie movies are so schlocky, yeah, in a way that this movie isn't at all. And I I I I, with you, I think that those movies are bumping up in my esteem because I like talking about them with you. That's fair, that's totally reasonable. I mean, this is certainly better than Dreamchild. Oh God, that would be so bad.
Starting point is 00:49:36 I really enjoy this while I was watching it, talking about it, and I realize now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now now th that it is very very very very very very very that it that it is very that's that's very very that that that that that that that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's very that's that's that's very that's very that's very thi the effects are really good in a lot of places. Yeah. And I didn't, for some reason, this is very unlike me, but I was not questioning anybody's thii. But I was not questioning anybody. I don't know why Mary Lou came back. I don't know why she killed anybody.
Starting point is 00:49:54 I don't know what falls apart under Annie and that scrutiny. Yeah, I mean why? have to celebrate that Marriott would be enough of a badass to come back from the grave. But like had no one opened that trunk in 30 years? No. They were keeping like costumes down there. It was literally standing like like sitting under a rack of costumes. You'd think that the theater department would have, oh boy. Maybe I didn't. Ah, six and a half. It's fine. It was really fun. I would watch it. I would watch it. This is another the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. th. th. th. the, th. the, th. th. th. the, the, th. th. th. th. the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. And also if you need of Fire is the full title. I am so ready. I'm so ready to watch it. I'm so ready.
Starting point is 00:50:50 I love this, like on again, off again, relationship we're having with this franchise. I know. I like that we're going to do this, but this has to be the end because it's the final installment. Yeah, well, as we know from horror movies, final means nothing. It's true. I'm so excited. How many times has Michael Myers or Jason been put down for the final time? Oh never, they never die. Never. I don't know what you're talking about. Yeah, that sounds great. We'll do Hell House, LLC, I'm sorry, Hellhouse 3, LLC, Lake of Fire. You can see our YouTube video on this. We couldn't really think of anything to do for it.
