Episode Date: February 3, 2020

In this week's episode, we're kicking off our ~*~month of love~*~ for February with the 2009 Australian film, "The Loved Ones." Special topics for your consideration include: expecting one kind of mov...ie and getting a vastly different one, the most earworm-y of songs, testing the limits of our tolerance for gore, a tale of a weird night on makeout lane and hey-- don't lie to us, we remember being vodka drunk teens! Do you find your Aussie horror experience lacking? If so, check out Episode 11- "The Babadook", Episode 89- "Queen of the Damned" (oddly enough, it's lightly Australian!) or Episode 255- "Lake Mungo." If that's not enough for you, head south east to New Zealand for Episode 78- "Housebound" and Episode 195- "What We Do in the Shadows." Starting point is 00:00:00 Hi Alan. Can I tell you how I fucked up? I thought this was a comedy? It's described as a comedy. Where is it described as that? Because I know I saw it somewhere. Yeah, I couldn't find it again when I went back to look for it and I was like, I am fucking crazy. I definitely, I don't know where I came across it, but I came across it somewhere as like,
Starting point is 00:00:31 this dark comedy. Okay, so you saw it too. There is a funny scene in this movie. I'm not even, well, hopefully we'll get to it. Yeah. But we are talking about the 2012? 2009 or 2012? Depending on who you ask. Australian film, The Loved Ones, which I had incidentally watched about a month ago, because a friend of mine recommended it and he described it as, quote,
Starting point is 00:00:58 a real treat. I think that added to my impression that it was maybe comedic. You're like, oh, I've going to watch treating places. It's a real treat. He also introduced me to the film Battle Royale, so I should have known that his tastes tend towards the brutal, but I did not. That movie is a real treat. That movie is a real treat. I would describe that as a real treat. That's where I fell in love with beat Takesha, the guy who plays the gym teacher.
Starting point is 00:01:27 Yeah. I love him so much. He's so cool. He had that game show? Remember his game show? No? Takeashi's castle? No.
Starting point is 00:01:35 Look it up. I will. Yeah. Pretty sure that same guy. It's from the 80s and it's just Japanese people doing like ridiculous stunts. It's really fun and it's just really fun. He's done a ton of like Yakuza movies where he's the gang boss. Sure he's perfect for that. He did at least one Zatowichy the Blind Swordsman where he was a blonde samurai, where he was a blonde samurai, not a blonde samurai. But I think he is, I think he's bleached I'm on in in in the b blonde blonde blonde blonde blonde blonde blonde blonde blonde blonde blonde blonde blonde blonde blonde blonde blonde blonde the blonde blonde the blonde the blonde the blonde the blonde the blonde the blonde the blonde blonde blonde blonde blonde blonde blonde blonde blonde blonde blonde blonde blonde blonde blonde blonde blonde blonde blonde blonde blonde blonde blonde blonde blonde blonde. I was a the blonde. I was a blonde. I was a blonde. I was a the blonde. I was a blonde. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I. I. I was. I was. I. I. I. I. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was a the. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the he's Bleach Blonde in that movie, actually. I was going to say we should really make a movie called The Blonde Samurai. What is Reese Witherspoon doing right now?
Starting point is 00:02:11 Legally Blonde Samurai. Man, that's a movie mashup I would watch the shit out of. Zadowichy, the legally blonde samurai. Oh my god. Probably be way way way tha tha tha tha tha tha tha tha tha tha tha th th th thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I tho-a-a-a, I thi, I'd tho-aughe. I tho-aughe, I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I'm thi. I'm thi. I'm thi. I'm thi. I'm thi. I'm thi. I'm thoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooom. I'm be way more fun than this movie. Oh so what I did was I got real real real high and watched it alone because I thought it was gonna be funny. I mean I feel like that's perfect for this movie though because most of the cast is real real real real high. Yeah that's true. I just I was covering my own face. You know how you do? Oh yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:46 Well, we start off with a rock and roll son and his rock and roll dad driving down the highway talking about how each other's rock and roll is bad. Yeah. Which I really appreciated. Dad, son jokes. Yeah. Is that what dads are like? Yeah. I think so. Yeah. I've been told. The sun's driving and he swerves off the highway because a half-naked bloody man is walking at them on the highway and he was looking at something else and... right. Swerves and we find out his father dies. He eats a tree real hard. Yeah. It's very brutal. So when we see him again he has longer hair and he's on more drugs. Yeah. Can we just get this out of the way?
Starting point is 00:03:28 That wig? Oh, it's so bad. It's so bad. That was like his real hair in the first scene, I think. It was like a lot of the first scene, I think. They just needed it to look like a squirrel, I think. It was like a lot of different hairs. Yeah, a lot of different hairs. A bit of a cutting room floor of hairs, if you will.
Starting point is 00:04:06 Yeah, but now he's a real real drug guy in giant pants. And he has this friend, Jamie, who was I think meant to be the film's comic relief. Yeah, mm-hmm. What he goes on the saddest date ever? I, like, that whole subplot, th. th. th. Yeah, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi, thi, the the the the the the the thi, the the the thi, the th. the the the thi, the the the thi, the thi. the thi. thi. thi. thi. thi, like, like, like, yeah, mm-hmm. What do you go to the saddest date ever? I like that whole subplot is in this movie for nothing. Yeah, yeah. I think it's just to fill out the time so they're not just like you want to you want some more of that beating stuff because we can do more of that or do you want to watch the sad thing that? Yeah, theyme just pulls a condom right out of his pocket. tho., does anyone just keep a condom in their pocket like that? For sure, in high school? I thought they were supposed to go in your wallet. Yes, until they explode in your wallet. Oh, I didn't know that could happen. Uh, then you've got lubricant all over the inside of your wallet, because you're
Starting point is 00:04:37 16 and real stupid. You're going to have that fucker in your wallet for a real long time. Yeah, definitely going to expire. Or explode, apparently. Yeah. So he asks out Mia, the hot Goth girl, and she agrees to go to the dance with him. Why? I'm not real sure. I don't know, but she's cool as shit. But we get no indication to any of her motivations for anything. Until the very end of the movie.
Starting point is 00:05:07 Yes, but even then. She's saying. I mean, I gleaned that from the hair. And the extreme eye shuddle. Oh, it's so extreme. Yeah. Is that a smoky eye? I'm not real sure. And then we we we we we we we we we we we we we we we th, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, what, what, uh, what, what, what, what, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, that, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, thi, thi, thi then we meet, uh, what is our heroes name? Brent? Brent?
Starting point is 00:05:29 Brent, the most Australian name you can have. Is that Australian? It sounds Australian as shit when they say it. Which I love that, and every time we get an Australian actor in a horror movie, they have to say the word no, it has a hundred syllables, we put it out so many times. But no one says it in this movie and I was like, oh, good move, smart. You didn't like that? I like looking for it. It's like the Where's Waldo of Australian movies. I feel like it's the Australian tel and in this they were like, you know what we're like. It's they're like. they're like, they're like, th. th. th. th. th. they're like, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. they, th. they're, they're, they're, they're like, thi, thi, they're like, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're like, they're like, they're like, they're like, they're like, they're like, they're like, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the th. th. th. the th. th. th. No, th. thi. No, thi. No, the. No, thi. No, the. No, thi. No, thi. No, the they're, they're the. No. No. No, thi. We see him be asked to the dance by Lola. Lola Stone. Who seems normal if Dweeby, right? Yeah, yeah, she's supposed to be like the like odd nerdy girl. I think she's got like a pony t-shirt on or something. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:18 But it's also extremely beautiful. Yeah. I saw many reviews of this movie when I was looking around at stuff and they're just like, I didn't, I didn't think, I didn't think, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to th., th. th. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thea, thea, thea.oooooooooooooooo-s thea, thea, toldea, th reviews of this movie when I was looking around at stuff, and they were just like, I didn't think I'd be so attracted to such a psycho. And it's like, what? What? What? What is it?
Starting point is 00:06:32 What is it? I feel like, I feel like, something just popped behind one of my eyes in a way. I don't know if I'm okay. She's like, that's the way one of the reviews started and I was just like, Guy! I will say that I absolutely adore the actress who played her. She was so fucking good, she was so fun to watch. And really evil. Really evil.
Starting point is 00:06:58 Yeah, and just like, oh, she was great. Yeah, yeah. She was like giving a Buffalo Bill a run for his money. She really was. And, and th, and th, and th, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, tha tha, tha, tha, thi thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, I I I I thi, I thi, I I I thi, I I I I I thi, I I I thi, I I I I I I I I I I to to to to to to to to to to to thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. And thi. And thia. And thia. thia. thia. thia. thia. thi. I'm just just just like, I was like, She was like giving a Buffalo Bill a run for his money. She really was. And she's young, like a young woman. We also meet Brent's girlfriend Holly. Yeah. You like holly? I like Holly. Even what she calls him an emotional R word? Okay, kids say real dumb shit. Not even the use of the R word, but like it's been a mere six months since his father died. So like maybe cut him. Here's my, the one of my main problems with the the the the the the the th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th. th. th. th. He's young young young young young young young young young young young young young young young young woman, like, like, like young young young young young young, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like young, like young, like young young, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the young, the the young, the the young, young, the the the thi but like it's been a mere six months since his father died. So like maybe cut him. Here's my one of my main problems with this movie is that I don't think it's very charitable
Starting point is 00:07:31 to its female characters. No. Like, obviously Lola is a psycho. Yeah. Yeah. He's out of the gate swinging at her, like very damaged boyfriend. His mother won't let him ride in cars. And she, and the cars, and the car in cars, and the car in cars, and the car in cars, and the car their, and their, their, their, tha, tha, tha, thia, the, tho, thoom. thoom. thoomorrow, thoomorrow, thi, thi, thi, thoomorrow, thoomorrow, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, thi, thi, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi, thi, the thi, the thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, the. the. the the the the the the too the the the the the the the the the the the thi. And she's like pale and tragic. And then Mia is a shrew for no reason, mostly.
Starting point is 00:07:51 And then her mom is like super detached. Yeah, so detached. Those are all the women in this movie. And not one of them is like sympathetically portrayed, I would say. I like that she calls an emotional R-Bomb post-blow job. I don't like that we see her boobs because she's meant to be in high school. I find that gross. Wait, every 80s movie that we've watched. Those women are in their 30s. This girl looks like she could be in high school. For sure. I mean, Linnea Quigley, you're looking at her, you know, you know she's been smoking 12 years minimum. It's true.
Starting point is 00:08:28 But I did like, I felt for Holly. Like, she just wants to like hang out with her dude. She wants her dude back. Yeah, but you gotta be patient. It's true, I'm not calling an emotional R-bomb. Yeah. Which then prompts him to write her a thank-I. to, to, to, to, to, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, to, to, to, to, to, to, th, th, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's. th, I's. th, I's. th, I. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. tho, I's. tho, I's. tho, I's, I's, tho. tho. thro. thoo. to. togu. to. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. to prompts him to write her a thank you card. Also where do you get a humpty-dumpty greeting card? Where's anyone even find that? How did he get?
Starting point is 00:08:48 That's perfect? Yeah, it was fucking spot on. Fucking Brent. And I feel like that was also way more sophisticated than I would have been at 16. No, yeah. Yeah. I like you. I like you.
Starting point is 00:09:08 You still have any of them? No. Oh, God, it would be so good as like an opening on this show. If someone can track down one of my high school yearbooks, there's definitely poetry in there for me. Listen. Delaware High class of class of 1992. I knew you're on one side or the other of me.
Starting point is 00:09:32 I just couldn't remember which it was. 1992. That's coming up on 28 years. Get in touch. Get us, Alan's poetry. Do books even hang around that long? I think they disintegrate. Yeah, I'm pretty sure.
Starting point is 00:09:48 Yeah, but that was like, it was just too, it was so on point. It was such a good card, yeah. Yeah. Holly gets her driver's license. She's going to drive Brent to the dance, but his mom's not having it, and she implies that she blames him for his father's death? Oh yeah yeah yeah implies through silence the worst implication. Yeah agree and so he goes to smoke weed on a cliff? Yeah yeah I would never get on a cliff. Well there's this so we see earlier that he's doing self-harm. Oh right. He wears
Starting point is 00:10:23 a razor blade around his neck and he's been cutting his sides. Yeah. And then as he's climbing this cliff to smokeweed, I really enjoyed the scene because he's like hanging by one hand off the cliff and you get this like, fuck it, I'm done thing out of him. Yeah, it's like very serene almost. Yeah. But then then then then then then then then then then then then then then then then then he he he he he he's he's he's he's he's, th. th. th. th. th. thi. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. the. that's, the. theeea. thea. thea. thea. thea. theea. thea. the. the. th, oh god, I want to live. Yeah. And I was like, oh, that's a nice way of setting this up that this kid actually does have
Starting point is 00:10:48 like the desire to keep going. Right, he's not totally hopeless. Right before everything goes to fuck shit. Yes. His, I just want to point out that he's smoking out of a metal pipe, which I had in high school too, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, thi, thi, like, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, actually, actually actually actually actually, thi, thi, thi, actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually actually, thi, thi, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi thi thi thi thi, actually actually actually actually actually actually, actually, just that's all I want to say. Oh man, yeah, you had all the like, it would be kept and it's like broken down so you could clean it out. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you put, you had to put like a sink screens in them. Yeah. No, no, the sinks in my high school had screens. Yep. Oh man. The good all days of weed. Smoking the loosest joints that have ever existed. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. joints that have ever existed. And just the skunkiest weed, just dirt, dirt. And like three times out of ten coughing while you're taking a hit
Starting point is 00:11:34 off a bowl and just shooting the weed into the year. How are we going to get more? Seriously now, you can just go to the store and buy it? If you would tell me that in high school, I would thought you were insane, that I could just go to a store and buy weed, the weed specifically. I was friends with so many people that dealt weed when I was a kid that I was just like, it's everywhere, right? You could just constantly get weed no matter what? Like, I've never thrown. I've never bought weed in my life. What? Because it was like. their. I. their. I. I. I. I. I. I their. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I the. I th. I th. I the. I the. I the. I've the. Are you like a 16 year old girl with big tits or something? Like who is smoking you for free all these years? I'm a cool ass dude, man. I've probably given you some free weed. Definitely have. Man, scammed again. It's a long con though, I have to be real cool for a while. You're like, I'll start a podcast with her. You're like, I'll start a podcast with her. I bet she'll let me smoke her weed. My favorite thing is that I'm blushing right now because I'm talking about being cool,
Starting point is 00:12:32 I'm very uncomfortable. Well, let's move on then to what happens to Brent. He gets chloroformed. He gets chloroformed. He gets chloroformed and somebody stabs his dog. Okay, so I'm watching this movie with Missy. Oh boy, dog lover, lover of dogs. If anyone knows anything about my partner, it's dogs, then me. Then Romcombs. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:12:59 And she's like, because the dog runs off. He goes, he goes barking at whoever's coming up while Brent is high at his mind. It's a very scary dog. Oh yeah, but it's beautiful. No, I think I would hang out with that dog hardcore. I think that dog would scare the shit out of me. I also love dogs very much.
Starting point is 00:13:17 I think there's a step below horses and wanting to kill us. For sure. I get kicked the nuts the nuts the nuts the nuts the nuts the nuts the nuts the nuts the nuts the nuts the nuts the nuts the nuts tha thua thua thua thu C C C C. thususususus thus thus thus thus thus. thoes. thoes. thoes. thus. thus. thoesk. tho-a' thi. For sure. I get kicked to the nuts by a dog every morning. Imagine if it was a horse. I wouldn't let it sleep in my bed. So the dog goes running off and then we're kind of in Brent's perspective so we don't know what's going on. He's like a dog quickly goes out of ear shot and so Missy's like is a dog okay and I was like yo it's been so Missy's like, is that dog okay? And I was like, yo, it's been like 10 years since I've seen this movie. I'm pretty sure it's okay.
Starting point is 00:13:52 And then when the dog shows back up, crawling and stabbed, and I was like, I fucked up, thought it was okay. She's still mad. Oh yeah. Because there's that scene where Holly is driving the dog to the vet and we watch the dog die. Yeah, and then she just stops the car. And I was like, movie, what are we doing here, movie?
Starting point is 00:14:12 Movie's still padding. They're just padding. They're patting with death. Yeah, gotta get to 80 minutes. It is a pretty short movie though. Yeah, it's an hour. Yeah, it's 82. Yeah, yeah, it's in and out. Yeah. So yeah, Brent, we wakes up in a house that's been decorated like the spring formal. It's the end of year dance. Do we meet, do we meet Lola and her dad before that he
Starting point is 00:14:37 wakes up? No. No, no, because she's this right, they open the trunk and he's in the the trunk. And she's like, they they think, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, thin, thin, th. th. th. th. th, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. We, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th, th. th. We, th. We, th. We, th. We, th. We, th. Yeah, th. th. We, th. It's, th. It's the, the, the, the. It's, to, to, to, to, to, to, thee. We, the. We, the. We, the. We, the. We, the. It open the trunk and he's in the trunk yeah and she's like they think she thinks for a second that her dad has killed him and she's like oh no you've ruined it and I was like what what what? Yeah so they've kidnapped him and tied him to a chair and put him in a suit and like he's a pretty big guy you're gonna I mean like how did you get a tuxed out of that guy? How did you guess his measurements? I guess. For some reason the fact that he's been redressed is very disturbing. That's from the strangers too remember they like redressed her in her dress that she wore to the wedding? Yeah. Yeah yeah I was thinking also of a 28 days later where they make the girls girls put on like the fancy dresses in the oh oh oh oh yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I was I was I was I was I was th I was th I was th. I was th. Yeah I was th. Yeah. Yeah. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was thi. I was th. I was th. I'm thi. I was th. I was th. I was thi. I was thi. I was th. dresses in the... Oh yeah. That's a very upsetting scene. I think I blocked that.
Starting point is 00:15:27 Thanks for bringing it up. Sorry. But it is one of those things it's like in a gross situation wearing fancy clothes is gross. Yeah. And this also feels very like on the dinner scene from Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Yes. There's a lot of nods in this movie that I like. Oh, and we also saw Daddy has brought Princess, who is Lola Stone, a dress. Yeah. And she makes him stay in the room while she disrobes. Yeah. And then we get a dad's eye view of him peep in her butt for a real long time.
Starting point is 00:16:01 While that song plays. That song really sticks in your craw, huh? Yeah, I luckily have it out right now, so I'm to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to th th. While that song plays. That song really sticks in your craw, huh? Yeah, I've luckily have it out right now, so I'm trying not to get it back in. It's if I think about it, the next six hours of my life are ruined. Fuck, fuck, I'm thinking about it. It's a pretty enough. I love it because it's like some like low-rent Chenaya Twain shit that I'm really into. It's an Australian country singer. And it was an Australian number one top hit, I think. Sure. Yeah, that kind of earworms gonna stick with you.
Starting point is 00:16:34 Oh man. Yeah, that's some new kids on the block level shit. I love when she says she's going to play it at her wedding. That's really funny to me. See there are very funny parts of this movie. It's true. Dark comedy is a stretch though. I just, I just, I got it so wrong.
Starting point is 00:16:55 I did so badly. You were sold a bill of goods. By whom though? Like, the internet? He said it was a treat. He didn't say it was funny. It's said it was a treat. He didn't say it was funny. It's a sick, disgusting treat. He's like, you're gonna love it.
Starting point is 00:17:08 It's horrifying. It's like a red delicious film with blood. Enjoy yourself. The shitty apple of horror movies. I feel like people for years try to convince me the red delicious for good. It's because it's the goddamn name. You can't do that. But, but it's, but it's, but it's, but it's, but it's, but it's, but it's, but it's, but it's like, but it's like, but it's like, but it's like, th. thi, it's like, the the the the the the the the the the the the the apple, it's like, the the thi, the apple, the apple, the the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the the the the the the the the thi, the thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. the the thi. the thi. thi. the to convince me they're read delicious for good. They're not. It's like, it's in the goddamn name. You can't do that. But it's like a apple filled with sand. Yeah, it's not good.
Starting point is 00:17:30 It's not good. They're reenacting the prompt or the end of semester dance now. Yeah. There's a big sign on the wall. dance and I was like is that a phrase like Merry Christmas like happy end of school dance happy end of school dance and a happy end of school dance to you put end of school back in end of school dance end of school dance end of school dance is the reason for the season so they have the time true chair as you said and the chair is bolted to the floor which is so fucking creepy which I was like oh this isn't this isn't time tow chair, as you said, and the chair is bolted to the floor. Which is so fucking creepy. Which I was like, oh, this isn't time number one.
Starting point is 00:18:09 No, that's a permanent fixture in their home. Because you know it gets jumpy, jumpy. Right. And we meet Bright eyes. Oh God, bright eyes is so distressing. Bright eyes is her mother. That they have lobotomized. Right. In a home lobotomy. Right. Which we see enacted later. Which is them drilling a hole and filling their head with boiling water. Yeah. Fuck you movie. Yeah. I really like the
Starting point is 00:18:43 part where we get to hear the cracking of a skull. That's a thing I soo soup soups and joy. But all of this is being interspliced with scenes of the lead-up to the end-of-school dance? Yeah. Of Jamie and Mia? Why though? Like why am I at all interested in what's happening with them? Oh, I loved it because I felt like theirs was like this little John Hughes movie that was happening inside of this other horror movie. Exactly, like it didn't make any sense. The tone just shifts so rapidly.
Starting point is 00:19:14 Yeah. It's like Anthony Michael Hall was taking female Judd Hirsch. Is that the bad boy in breakfast club? Judd Nelson? There we go, one of those Judds. It's Winona. Good night everybody. I thought you were going up for a high-fi, but you were just waving. Same dunk. You were just waving to the crowd. I like, a thing I really like in movies is when people are dancing but you know they're
Starting point is 00:19:46 not actually listening to music. So in the car they were like, okay, teens now head bang and they're both like, okay, is it a little bit of, is it over here, am I gonna, no, how are you doing it? Okay, is it the same time or no, no? It's also that uncomfortable thing of people who have never had banged before?. Yeah. And you're like, word, item. No. It's like, oh man, I can't remember what we were watching, but one of the actors and something I was watching
Starting point is 00:20:11 recently was smoking. And they were doing that smoking where their hands are perfectly straight. And I was like, that's not how anybody ever smokes. No, once you've smoked for a while, you get that like face curlyly. you get that like face curly. Yeah, it's a more efficient way to get the cigarette into your mouth. Oh, smoking. Oh, man, smoking, huh?
Starting point is 00:20:31 Smoking, huh? Nobody smokes in this movie. Just do more smoking. They do smoke. They smoke a lot of weed. Yeah. But cigarettes are just so cool. Don't roll your eyes at me. I can see you.
Starting point is 00:20:46 I do like that he uses Benaca because we had recently discussed whether or not Banaqa still existed. I guess it does in Australia. With a name like Banaca, I'm like, oh that must be like a billabong type like Australian thing. That could very well be true. But I really enjoy his excitement about going on a date with this lady. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. the, th. th. thi, thi. Yeah, they, th. I, th. I, th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I, th. I, th. I, th. I, th. I, th. I, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, the, the, th. Yeah, the, the, the, th. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. well be true. But I really enjoy his like his excitement about going on a date with this lady. Right, he like cannot believe his luck. Who is fuck off unexcited about being with him or on this earth. Yeah, I don't think it has anything
Starting point is 00:21:17 to do with him. I think she's just like deeply miserable, yeah. Yeah. They're sitting in the car, smoking weed and then the next cut we get back to them, she just has, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I the their, I their, I, I their, I, I, I, I their, I, I their, I, I their, I their, I their, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, I their, like, I their, I their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, th. And, th. th. thi. thi. th. their, their, their, their, their, their, their, like, their're sitting in the car smoking weed and then the next cut we get back to them she just has a bottle of I think vodka. Yeah. That she is just chugging. Listen here's the thing. Yeah. I've been a high school girl and not one that thin. You'd be barfing. You'd be getting a black eye when you hit your head on your friend's grandma's coffee table, which I did. And then had to go go go their their their their their their their their head your their head your head your head your head your head your head your head your head your head your head your head your head your head your head your head your head your head your head your head your head your head your head your head your head your head your head your head your head your head your head your head your head your head to. I had your head to go. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm th. I'm th. I had th. I had th. I h. I h. I h. I h. I h. I h. I h. I h. I h. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I their. I their. I their. I their. I their. I th. I th. I'm h. I'm th. I'm th. Yeah. I'm th. Yeah. I'm th. th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm the. I'm the. I'm. I'm th. I'm. I'm th. I'm, which I did, and then had to go to school with it, and everybody knew what happened. You throw up, you're thrown up. Mm-hmm, mm-hmm, I don't buy it. I just don't buy it. I was just thinking about the last time
Starting point is 00:21:53 that I was drug on vodka, I was like, oh no, yeah, I puked a lot, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, not, not, not, not, not, uh, yeah, not, yeah, yeah, that, that, that, that, that, that, th, th, th, th, th, the princess and daddy and bright eyes and Brent. They're eating wings. They are. Well, what's great, I love this like interplay because you see after daddy, after daddy kidnaps Brent, he stops at like the chicken hut. In his El Camino. This is such a dope car though. Extremely cool car. And gets a bucket of chicken. And then also on the chicken hut. And his El Camino. This is such a dope car though. Extremely cool car. And gets a bucket of chicken. And then also on the ride home picks up roadkill.
Starting point is 00:22:31 Right. And at one point, Princess is eating something that isn't quite chicken bone shaped. Yeah. And I guess it was just like a big, like. It's a big old wing. And I was was like is she eating roadkill right now and why there are wings the chicken wing scene is so upsetting when she's like pushing it into his mouth and it everything's just like greasy oh I was grossed out because she had previously pushed the same chicken wing into her lobotabized mother's mouth oh yeah and then brought it over to Brent
Starting point is 00:23:04 and saying is it finger licking good and this is when I was like th? the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the there there there there there there there are there are there are there are there are there are there are there are there are there are there are there are there are there are there are there are there are there are there are there are there are there are there are there are there are there are there are there are there are there are there the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the same the the same the same the same the same. the same. the same. the same. the same. the same. the same. the the same. the same. the the same. the the same. the the same. the same. the same. the same. the same. the the same. Oh yeah. And then brought it over to Brent. And saying is it finger-licking good? And this is when I was like oh she is great. Yeah. Yeah. And then like has him suck her finger while she gets mildly orgasmic? As as forced by her father putting a hammer forcefully on the table? Yeah. Yeah. It's very ominous laying a hammer on a table. I mean, I love wings. Don't get me wrong. Licking someone's wing finger and having them force you, it's very gross.
Starting point is 00:23:38 But say wing fingers. I just got wing fingers. Give me a second here. It's like, um, Stephen Weber, he's got wing finger. I just got wing fingers. Hold it give me a second here. It's like Stephen Weber, he's got wing fingers. Is this when he has to go to the bathroom? Yes. Is it onesies or twosies? Oh my god. She chugs that glass of milk. She's so good. She chugs that glass of milk. And there's so many milk strings in her room. Yeah. Ful drinking milk with dinner gives me the hebes. Oh absolutely! You don't need it! Why are you doing that? Do you just
Starting point is 00:24:11 like it? That's weird. I have a co-worker who drinks milk every day and I'm just like, dog? Really? Dog? What are you doing? Milk? I'm just like a big old glass of thick so I'm sitting down to have a sandwich? Milk to me is just, is specifically like a big glass of thick because I'm sitting down to have a sandwich. Milk to me is just, is specifically like a cereal ingredient. Yeah, every once in a blue moon I'm like, I'll fuck with some cookies in milk, let's do this. And then you drink the milk afterwards? Yeah, because I got all the cookies in to do it. Do you feel weird drinking a glass of milk though? For sure. I get like the small. A th. The small, I feel like a creeper. I just get the smallest glass possible. It's just like
Starting point is 00:24:51 enough depth for dipping. A rock's glass of milk. I just need a tumblot of milk. Am I not pretty enough? What are you doing? So he's got to pee. He's got to do once he's. Yeah. And she just unzips his pants, pulls his dick out and puts it in the glass. In the glass of milk! Formerly of milk. And he can't pee, of course. Yeah. And she says if you don't pee by the count of ten, daddy's gonna nail it to the chair. And then she starts counting like a demented children's performer. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It is. It is. It is. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. Yeah. th. th. Yeah. th. th. th. th. Yeah. th. Yeah. th. th. Yeah. th. Yeah. th. th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. th. th. Yeah. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. Yeah. th. Yeah. th. Yeah. th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. nail it to the chair. And then she starts counting like a demented children's performer. It is bananas. While daddy is putting a hammer on his shoulder and like menacing him. This is when I, the first time I texted my friend who said this movie was a real treat and I was like, I don't like this. But that scenes where like he finally does pee. I can't remember why she says it but thi th. the th. the the th. th. the th. the th. the th. th. th. the the th. th. th. th. thi, thi, thi, te, te, te, te, te, te, te, te, te, te, te, by, te, te, te, te, te, te, te, te, te, te, te, te, tie, tie, tie, tie, tie, tie, tie, tie, t, tie, tie, tie, by, by by by te, by te, by te, by te, by te, by te, by te, by te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. t's like... It's crying. Oh it's gross. Yeah. That's not what tears look like.
Starting point is 00:25:49 And I better kiss it better she says. Or should I bite it off so Molly can never touch it again? And we forgot to mention while Molly and Brent were having sex that right. That's right. She was standing outside the car watching them. How are you gonna not see that? I don't that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that's that's that's th. that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's. Gr. Groes. Groes. Groes. Gr-I. Gr-I. Gr-I. Gr. Gr. Gr. Gr. Gr. Gr. Gr. that's that's that's that's. that's. that's. that's. that's that's that's that's that's th. th. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. thi. thi. the. the. the. that's that's the. that's that's that's that's that's the. that's that not see that? I don't know. I've never had sex that interesting. I've got this out but I reminded me this one time that I went to this like make-out spot in Delaware when I was like a teen. And everybody would park their cars and make out. Yeah, that's what you car and I turned to the side, I look at the car. And it's just this lady laying back with this dude like motorboating her.
Starting point is 00:26:32 And she's staring on the window like, it's a living. She had the most like, whatever. She wasn't like, don't look in here? Or whatever. How dare you cut that out? How dare you think about taking that away from our listeners? But for the thing, it's just like, her, I can't even see like anything sexual about it. I just see her face of like, eh. Yeah, well, that is amazing. This is happening. Oh yeah, the idea of like make-out spots is hilarious.
Starting point is 00:27:03 It's just not good. Classic team, the idea of like make-out spots is hilarious. So gross, just to fuck where other people are fucking... It's just not good. Classic team, though. Classic team. Oh yeah. So at this point he gets away. He kicks Lola away and he's using his necklace, razor blade necklace to slice through his arm.
Starting point is 00:27:20 Yeah. Oh, no, I think that happens later he just undoes the knot. Oh does he? Okay. Yeah, because he'd be better at that knot? That's okay. Daddy? Daddy? Do better. He runs out the door? Yes, he makes it out. Yeah, and doesn't get very far. No. He kind of throws himself to the ground. He climbs a tree, which is hilarious. That is funny. It also look like he could have just jumped over over the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the, the. the. toge. toge. tree. tree. tree. tree. tree. tree. tree. tree. tod, tod tod tod tod tod tod tod tod tree. No, they throw rocks out of him until he falls out of the tree. Well, cackling, her cackling is so good. I like how much you liked her. I just thought she, the first time I didn't really notice it, and then the second time I watched I was like, oh she the the first the first the first the first the first the first the first... the first. I didn't the first. I didn't the first. I didn't thi. I didn't, thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. I didn't, th. I didn't, thr-I. I saw, it might have been the director of the movie that was like, oh, she is now in
Starting point is 00:28:06 like the pantheon of horror creeps. Yeah. She's like a good horror creep. She's definitely a good horror creep. So yeah, they get him tied back down. After that dummy drives his car, his own car. You knew that. You knew that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that t was t was t was tree was tree tree tree the tree tree the tree. the tree. the the tree. their tree. the tree. the the the their their their their their their their their their their their the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the tree. tree. tree. treeon. treeon. tree. tree. tree. tree. tree. tree. tree.a. tree. tree. tree. tree. treeon. treeon. treeon. t are on. You came straight at it. Brent was hiding underneath the car. Yeah, oh he can't do that. It's just backing up, Brent. And this is when she shows him the
Starting point is 00:28:32 scrapbook of all of her former abductions? Oh my god. This is after she screams cry in his face after he wakes up tied to the chair again. Oh and he won't do it. And we forgot to mention that they injected like antifreeze. I'm the th. Oh th. Oh that's is is is that's is that's is that's is that's is that's is that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's. that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's their. that's that's that's that's th. that's th. the. the. the. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. their. the the the the the the the the the the the the their. their. their. th. th. th. th. th. th. that's. that's. that's. that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's threat. that's the. thi. thi. thi.'t do it. And we forgot to mention that they injected like antifreeze into his... I think, I assume it was like antifreeze. Because that's the color it is, isn't it? Is that like green? Is that like green? Yeah, I think it just like destroyed his vocal cords. Like, he'll never be And that's very Texas Chates All Masker.
Starting point is 00:29:05 It's very like, oh, you got away? You're fucked for life. You're fucked for life. And he was already traumatized the poor bastard, you know? Sure. Okay, but tell me about the scrapbook. Oh, so she sits them down. And she is just going through this lovingly made-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-s-s, thi-s, thi-s, thi-s, thi-s, thi-s, thi-s, thi-s, th-s, thi-s, th-fix-fe-fe-fe-fe-fe-fou-fe-fou-fou-fu. th-fu. th-fu. th-fi-fi-fi-fi-fi-fi-f. th. th. th. th-f. th-f. th-fi-s, th-s, th-s, th-s, th-s, th-s, th-s, th-s, th-s-s-s-s-s. th-s. to-s. to-s'-s'-s'-s'-s'-s'-s'-s'-s'-s'-s'-s'-s. to-s. teen girls scrapbook of all the guys they've abducted with pictures of her standing next to them with her initials carved into their
Starting point is 00:29:31 chest. The first one is like six, literally like six. He does not have her initials carved into his chest, thank God. And I think she's in the picture with them and she's like six. Yeah. So dad is a psychopath. Right. She never had a chance. No. Do you presume that she was, I guess she was conceived after the mother was lobotomized? I hope not. I don't know why. Why would they lobotomy someone who's already, you know what I mean? I think he lobotimized her and then
Starting point is 00:29:56 impregnated her and then she delivered that baby. I think I had worked out that she annoyed them. And then they did the lobotomy thing. Oh. I don't know. Maybe that, I think in the fiction in my mind, it would have happened around the same time that they started abducting kids. Maybe. But it's so, I mean, whatever the timeline.
Starting point is 00:30:22 Yeah, we don't need to sort this out. Although, to be fair, there are a lot of things in this movie that nobody bothered to sort out. Sure. Yeah. A lot of loose ends. Where they were like, I think a lot of, there's a lot of like this movie trying to do a quick shock value without thinn't, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, their, th, th, their, th, th, their, th, their, th,y things that pay off later. I guess they're not Easter eggs, but there's the, when she's showing him the
Starting point is 00:30:48 scrapbook, she's like, oh this is the one that got away. Mm-hmm. And you're like, oh, I wonder, did they kill all the other ones? Okay, maybe they killed everybody. But he does have a quick flashbackthere are people under the stairs. I was going to say, this movie turns into people under the stairs for a minute, which as you know is a movie I love. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:13 And that also has like the weird incest thing too. Sure. So I thought that was a very nice Oh, this, that's right. Oh, God, they've nailed his feet to the floor. With, with like kitchen knives. Yes, like steak knives. And we get to watch it. For a while.
Starting point is 00:31:33 Every blow going into his foot. I love to, I use a get to watch it, like it's a fucking privilege for us. Enjoy your feet treat. But it's like the idea of being made to stand up with your feet now to the floor and swaying back and forth. To the song. The song. She's going to have played her wedding, but you're not in my wedding. She says to print.
Starting point is 00:32:02 You're just another frog. Yeah. And she turns the daddy. Oh my god. And they start dancing. No, no, no, no, no, no. He's just like, the look on his face is just, he does the like, this isn't right, okay. And you're like, no, no. He reminded me of the guy who in, let the right one in, is like the servant of the vampire. Yeah. Yeah. And, and that, and that, and that, and that, and that, and that, and that, and that, and that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that's, that's, that, th. And th. And, thi, thi, thi, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the, the, the, the the the th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th. And th. And, th. And, th. thi, that, that, threat, threat, tra, tra, tra, true, true, true, that, that, that, that, that, the right one in, is like the servant of the vampire. That just wants it so bad but is like trying to play it cool. Right, trying to play it cool.
Starting point is 00:32:34 And Daddy wants it so bad, but he's trying to play it cool. Can I tell you what I did like about that scene though? Is when they're dancing that the dad is standing on a chair behind him sprinkling glitter on them. I thought that was very funny actually. And she does that like they do the she's the queen of the dance and she like puts the crown on her head but there's just blood all over her hands because she's already carved the letters into his chest and throwing the salt in the wounds. I love that they were Christmas Cracker crowns that they were wearing too. Yeah, yeah, it's cool. And Daddy is also wearing a crown. Yeah, why are you?
Starting point is 00:33:07 Guy, what are you doing here? But then it cuts over to Mia and Jamie dancing at the end of the actual end of school dance, and she's just like giving him a handy. Yeah, with the entire school watching and him going, I don't know. Yeah, it's th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu, thu, thu, tho, thu. thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, what thu, what's, what's, what's, what's, what's, what's, what th. What's, what th. What's, what th. What's, what th. What th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. thuu. thuuuuuu. thuuuuu. Guy, thu. thu. thu. thu. Guy, thu. Guy, th know. Yeah, it's very uncomfortable. She says like what the fuck are you looking at to someone which I do like. And then the principal comes over and goes, you guys should probably leave. Yeah, is that what what happened? I feel like you would get in so much trouble? You guys should probably sober up before I put you in a car. Yeah. They got to the parking lot and fuck and the principal comes out and says, I meant off school grounds. So lenient in Australia with teens
Starting point is 00:33:46 and they're drinking and fucking. And they were completely naked. Oh yeah, it is. Wow, look at you guys. Yeah, it was very raunchy. So yeah, so then we see the people under the stairs. Because they feed them the road kill. Yeah, they open the trap door that's in their living room under a
Starting point is 00:34:05 large area rug. I love this because as you know I love incongruous things in houses. I love the big door in Texas Chainsaw Masquer. Yes the big metal door. So scary. And the fact that this is like a 15 or 20 foot deep pit that's made of just solid concrete and metal doors in the middle of your living room. Yeah. It's so like out there and weird and I really like is really cool. But I love the like, yeah the people under the stairs like just filthy but dreadlocked like people stuck down there. Pale and weird and skinny and yeah they throw that roadkill down there while
Starting point is 00:34:45 Lola's going sing for your supper oh and they can't they keep doing this thing where every time Brent screams yeah daddy and princess in unison will say we can't hear you it's so spooky it's so weird that reminds me of Texas chainsaw massacre too like them all chant like laughing at her in the same yeah yeah it's so weird so then thi thi that th th th th th th th th th th so that that that that that they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they they they're they're they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they're thi thi thi thi thi tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho thoo tho thoo tho tho they're they're they're they're too, like them all chant like laughing at her in the same, yeah. It's so weird. So then they say she says she's going to do her first drilling. Yeah. Yeah. I'm Brent said. Which she does. Did you think something was going to give like he was going to get away at the last second? Yes. Yeah. Yeah he doesn't. Especially since it's just like a it's like a cordless power drill. Yeah. It's not like... Those things can't go into brick, you know. I guess it may be by it, maybe they have a special masonry bet for skulls. Oh man, and this is also a very protracted
Starting point is 00:35:38 scene of like, you don't actually see the point of contact, but you just see the blood trickling down over his eyes. And he th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi thi thi thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thu-like, thu-like, thu-like, thu-like, thu-like, the, thin, thin, thin, thi, thi, thi, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, throge, thi's thin, thin, thoooooooooooooooooooooomomicicictoge, th contact, but you just see the blood trickling down over his eyes and then her like determination. And he's trying to scream, but because of the whatever they injected him with, he's just like a, like a, like a, uh, uh, and it's so upsetting. Yeah. Also upsetting is how daddy's, like, coaching her through it. He's like, two hands,, you know? Choke up, no, choke up. And I feel like that has become sort of a common, I don't know how common is, but that sort of trope of like serial killers having a coach.
Starting point is 00:36:14 Like it's kind of in that, that, I can't, the rise of, uh, behind the mask. Yeah, oh right, like being someone's prodigy. Yeah. Or if you ever watch Dexter, um, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, th, th, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, I that, I that, I that, that, yeah. Oh, right, like being someone's prodigy. Yeah. Or if you ever watch Dexter, his dad, like, spoiler alert from Dexter. No, I'm I watch it. Okay. So he's got a dad, huh? Who's played by one of the guys from the Warriors? Oh, which one? The guy who gets locked to the park bench? Oh? Yeah, not the hot one. There's a lot of hot ones in that? Uh. Uh. Uh, uh? Uh, uh? Uh, uh? Uh, uh? Uh, the the the the the the the th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, th-uh, th, th, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, th. th. th. th. Uh, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. the. thi. the. the the th park bench average is sexually assault at one woman. Yeah, not the hot one. There's a lot of hot ones in that, I know. There's all of the orphans, they're the hot ones, and the baldies, and I always have to
Starting point is 00:36:56 thing for the baseball furies. Sometimes it's like I don't know if you're serious or not. I do think the baseball furies are hella cool looking. They are extremely cool. It's a great Halloween costume if you're ever looking for one. I also just love loving a baseball bat as your weapon. Oh the god they're so cool. Because it's terrifying. Because you know if you get it with a baseball bat you're ever so fucked. Yeah. As someone who has been hit you with a baseball bat? Oh no. Oh no. Who hit. th. th. th. th. th. the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I thi th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I thoo. tho. thoo. tho. tho. thoo. th. thoo. tho. tho. I tho. I th. I th. I th. I fucking hurts. Who hit you with a baseball bat? Some friend of mine when I was like 12. I remember being, it was an aluminum baseball bat and I remember being real proud because I dented it.
Starting point is 00:37:30 Oh God. Yeah, I got hit hard enough in the back that had dented a bat. Did you cry? I'm sure I did some bullshit machismo thing. And then you were like, they were like, come to my house tonight and I'm openly weeping watching the good place. Yeah, I didn't expect to walk into that. I have to be honest with you. You knew I was coming over. I'm going to be done by the time you got it.
Starting point is 00:37:56 I should have, I offer to sit outside. Sorry. So they are, it's called tripanning when you like drill into your head to like let out the bad spirits. What's it called the bad? Hmm. Fuck. Like the humors or whatever?
Starting point is 00:38:12 Bad humors? Yeah, bad humors. And your black bile and all that stuff. Oh man. But they're, they're giving them a lot of body. They're like drilling but just enough into his their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, what, what, what, what, what, what, their, what, what, their, their, their, their, their, their, the bad, the bad, the bad, the bad, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, what's their, what's their, what's to crack the skull. But not to hit his brain. Yes. Because they got a poor boiling water on that. Yeah. The sound of the tea kettle whistling is so ominous and so good. Because when you realize what's about to happen from the whistling, you're like, oh my
Starting point is 00:38:36 God. There was a part of me that's like, oh, they're Australia Vero, which are like, and their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, their, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, their, their, their, a cup of tea while they're oh no oh shit no because I legit remembered almost nothing from this movie yeah which I don't know how well that speaks of the film but we've seen a lot of movies I have I have yeah and it's but I also love that like so yeah they're gonna pour the boiling water in and she tries to it but she can't do it right she burns her to the the the to to the to the to the to to to the the the to their to their to their to to their to their to to their their their to to to to to to their. their. their. their. their. their. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I's. I's. I's. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I t. I t. I t. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. t. t. t. t. t. t t t tell. t t t tell. t t tell. t t tell. t t t tell., they're gonna pour the boiling water in and she tries to do it but she can't do it, right? She burns her dad's arm. And he yells at her, you've got to get a bigger tip. Give it a bigger tip, yeah. And she's like, can you just make the hole bigger? And so we just go at it again.
Starting point is 00:39:14 Yeah, I didn't think that was the thaha gonna gonna bonds. Right. And we've also been introduced to Mia's father who is the town-only cop, I think. Apparently, and also the dad of the kid who got away. Right, which I did not put together until the end. Sure, and I think at the end they were like, in case you didn't put this together, uh, Mia? Yeah. Here is your last line. Also here's that photo of you the the the th. th. thia thia thia thia thia thi thi thi thi thi th thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi tho thi tho tho thi thi tho tho tho tho tho tho tho the the the tho the tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho th. th. th. th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi tho tho tho tho tho thoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo th. th. is your last line. Also here's a photo of you two together. You guys got it. You guys got it. He gets, he cuts his bonds and he's got this razor blade in his hand and as dad's drilling his head he jumps up and slashes dad's face. Yeah, and he gets him good. It looks great. Yeah. And then Lola freaks out and he grabs a knife out of his foot and stabs the dad in the neck a whole whole bunch of times. I love super quick stabbing. I love
Starting point is 00:40:13 super quick stabbing. I love stabbing in the neck. Very good. And then runs dad backwards into the still open pit with the other boys down there that were formerly eating possum and are now eating dead. Yeah, his shirt just immediately becomes covered in blood, like soaked in blood. And then, is this when the cop shows up? Um, no, because this is when Mia forces him into the hole. Oh, Lola. Sorry, Mia right. Mia right now is grinding on... She full on fucking. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:48 Yeah. That's right. But Lola grabs him by the feet and like flips him into the hole. So he's now stuck in the hole. She shuts the doors. Before she does, she says, I'm going to go stab your mom like you stabbed my dad. Yeah. And tha thoo th she she she she she she she she she she she she she th she th she th th th th th th th th th th. tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho-s. tho-s. tho-s. tho-s. tho-s. tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho th. th. tho tho th. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. thooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. th. then I'm gonna stab Holly in the heart like you stabbed me in the heart. It's a pretty good line.
Starting point is 00:41:06 Yeah, yeah, yeah. But also, you're sociopath, you were gonna fucking kill him. Yeah. But also, why don't the men in the hole accept him? Like, they accepted one another, and they're fool right now because them had to get added every so often sure they didn't go in there at once you know why can't they just accept him I was a little disappointed that they were going to attack him yeah yeah and then he has to kill all of them although I got to say you know I love you knew I was
Starting point is 00:41:35 going to love this piling up bodies to escape oh yeah yeah I love that the dead person ladder that tho the the the the the the the the the the the th is th is the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th is the the the the the the the the the. the. the. the. the the. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th is the the the the the the the the the the the the the the they. they. they. teeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. the is they were he gets shoved in the hole, she's going to take off, but the cop shows up at the house because Holly remembers that Lola Stone. Oh it's so so weak. And she calls the cop and is like, Lola Stone, he's like, Lola Stone, but a bdoh and drives right to Lola Stone's house, looks in the window, it's covered in the today. And the, the, the, tho, thi, thi, thi, tho, tho, tho, thi, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, the tho, tho, the tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, too, to, to, to, to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to, holou, hol he goes inside, she cracks him the fucking head and throws him into the pit. Yeah, he's dead. Yeah, it's good. I just, I don't think that's enough, you know? You don't think it's enough for him to go on to run out there? I don't think it's enough for Holly to think, well it must be Lola, and enough for her to her her her her her her her to to the police to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be enough, that's that's that's that's enough for that's enough for her, that's enough for her, that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's to that's that's to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to, to to to, to be to to to, to to to thoooooooo. that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's the police. And then for the police to be like, well, put the flashers on or out, you know, weo.
Starting point is 00:42:27 Well, the police is singular. True. He's the only cop and his gun has only one bullet. And maybe that's Australian guns, I don't know. In other hemispheres, I'm not sure. So yeah, then Lola takes off and he climbs out by using yeah body ladder which I also love they just show him piling it up and then he's outside and I was like thanks I didn't really need to see him climb out no I appreciated that and that would be
Starting point is 00:42:51 yeah that would be too much of this movie that is a way too much so he gets in the cop car and he drives away and Lola is just gonna walk to his mom's to kill her. Why? Why? Why he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he is he? He is he? He is just is just is just is just is just is just is just is just to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to th. Lo- he is just to th. Lo- he is just th. Lo- he is just th. Lo- he is just th. Lo- he is just th. Lo- he is just thi to took took tho to tho. the the the the the the the to. to. thi. thi. thi. to her. Why, first of all, imagine driving after having had knives go all the way through your feet to the floor. Yeah. How you driving? All that adrenaline, you're just running on it. I guess. I guess.
Starting point is 00:43:15 I guess. This kid is unbeatable. He is unbeatable for sure. She's walking down, it's now daylight. She's walking down a road singing, Am I not pretty enough? And it's very funny, because she does like the whole first verse. And she looks like, she reminds me of just like drunk college lady with her shoes in her hand and walking bare feet down the middle of the road, just carrying a kitchen knife.
Starting point is 00:43:45 She's doing a walk of shame with a kitchen knife for sure because it's daylight and she's got that dress on it. She's very disheveled. Because he's also, he's broken her nose at this point, so her face so her face. So thrown in blood. Yeah. And her hands are covered in blood. .
Starting point is 00:43:59 . And I can't remember... We talk about that throwing salt on his chest? I don't think we did, it was really fucked up. That was so rude. Yeah, so rude. It goes on for a really long time, too. Um, if there's another weird thing, have you ever gotten salt in a wound? Yeah. It fucking hurts like hell. Yeah. Um, I can't remember how holly gets there. Holly is driving her, she's just driving down the road. Oh that's right
Starting point is 00:44:26 because she's going somewhere. I think she was going out to Lola's to see what's going on. Okay, okay. And he... She's driving down the road and she stops when she sees Lola, right? And then he's speeding down the road, Mrs. Holly but slams into Lola with the car. Yeah, somehow she gets Lola to pull over because, I'm sorry, she gets Holly to pull over. Does Holly do the same thing where she wrecks the car? I don't know, because she's definitely, Lola definitely gets in the car with her, and they fight in the car, and then she falls out the driver's side and runs away, and then he's, Lola is chasing her when the cop car hits her. Well done, thank you.
Starting point is 00:45:13 Thank you. So he, near Mrs. Holly, hits Lola with the car, and thanks, tha. thiold her and they're going to drive away and they look in the rear of your mirror and Lola is like double-knifed on the ground, dragging herself at him. Which felt very much like the end of freaks. I think I feel like that was definitely a nod to that of like having a knife in your teeth and just dragging yourself because you only have upper body to the the the the the, that's pretty funny. It's very good. Yeah. And so he drives fast backwards and there's a long, slow-mo shot of her
Starting point is 00:45:49 getting hit in the face. It's so good though, because you see it happen, like it just takes forever to get there and you know it's gonna hit. Oh man. Can I tell you what my favorite part is that happens next? Yes. She takes him home instead of to the hospital. His brain is exposed, madam. It's got to go see his mom though. Carla. Who boy? The end. Yeah. Well. This is our beginning of our month of love. Oh my god.this is the kind of love I can get behind. Let's go to the ratings phase. You want to go first? Sure. I suggested this movie. You did. I think it is good and I think it is a kind of overlooked movie. I think it got shuffled around because it was made in 2009 but didn't get a US release until 2012.
Starting point is 00:46:43 Oh jeez. And like really limited theatrical like I I think I got the DVD from Netflix like a hundred you know I think after 2009 before 2012 somewhere in that window. But I don't think it gets like talked about enough. Yeah I've not really heard much about it. Yeah it's a really fun but like when I posted that we were doing this movie and a bunch of people were like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like, I I I I I I I I I I I I th. I've got th. I've got. I've th. I've th. I've th. I've like when I posted that we were doing this movie and a bunch people were like, yeah, I love that movie, so maybe it does get it more love than I thought. It's fucking mean. It's so mean. It's so mean.
Starting point is 00:47:14 It's so brutal. to start off with Dead Dad and it just kind of goes down from there. It's so brutal in that it does this to a person who was like already had a, it, it, it, it, thiiiiiii, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, to, to, to, to, to, to, thi, to, to, to, to, to, to, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I to, I, I to, I to, I, I to, I to to to to to thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to a person who was like already had this horrible thing happen to him and then like we said like he'll never be okay he'll never talk again. Yeah, yeah. I also like that it like flips the script on the like sociopath serial killer by making it like a young woman. Yeah. But it like it could just be like she was spurned, but it's not that she was spurned, she's a fucking lunatic. Like, she's a fucking sociopath.
Starting point is 00:47:50 And, uh, you know, that was fun, I thought. Just a little treat. Just a little treat. I'm gonna give this a date and a half. Oh, damn. What about you? Well, I have to say I liked it a lot more the second time knowing what I was getting into. I had such a strong reaction to it because it was so not what I expected.
Starting point is 00:48:12 And it was so upsetting to me. Torture is very upsetting to me in general. Why? I don't know. It's just like a weird quirk of mine. So I enjoyed it a lot more the second time tii, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, t, t, and I, and, to, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I. to. to. to. to. to. to, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and I. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi, I. thi, I. to. to. to. t t t t t t t t t t t t t t thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. to. the the enjoyed it a lot more the second time, like being able to clench my stomach when I knew when I knew what was coming. I thought it was well-acted. I think there are just a lot of like little flippy, flappy loopholes that they could have closed and didn't because they certainly had plenty of time. Sure. And I think the prom subplot is like very dumb. I think Mia's whole
Starting point is 00:48:46 character is tragic. Oh we forgot the thing that she says at the end is she was like why have you never found him to her father. Well where did he go? He was outside in broad daylight he was alive and walking so like that's what I'm saying there's just all these loopholes. Yeah. Even if he had died there thoude be a a a a a th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. tho. the thoome. the the the the tho. tho. tho. tho. the the tho. the tho. the the tho-s. the the tho-s. th. the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. the. the. the. te. te. te. toge. toge. toge. toge. toge. toge. toge. the. the. the. the., his body would be right off the road. They'd have found him. There was a large-scale search for that person. I'm sure he was the sheriff or cop's son. I mean, I guess, maybe. That's what I'm saying. It's just like things like that. You're like, what? Lola Stone, we better go to our house. And I do think it's very, it paints women in a very naggy, shrewy, unflattering light. It's not charitable to women at all. And it's almost like every man is put upon and every woman is naggy in this. Yeah. Except for Daddy, he's just a grosso.
Starting point is 00:49:43 Yeah, he really put upon somebody else if you think about it. Yeah, for sure. That said, yeah, you should probably watch it. Yeah. Just don't listen to that song. It really is ruined my week. I'm going to give it a seven. I didn't not... I enjoyed it more when I didn't think it was a comedy. On the, you do like gory things. I do like gory things, but I don't like torture.
Starting point is 00:50:12 Yeah, and you felt like this was too far on that? It's in that vein of hostile where I'm just like, I don't need to see somebody's Achilles get cut, you know what I mean? Like that's not fun for me, but like seeing a person make a pile of dead bodies and climb out of a hole, that is fun for me. That's deeply fun for me. Did you know that this movie spawned a copycat killer? I did see that. That's pretty fucked up. Yeah. Yeah. It's gross. You guys can Google it if you want, we don't really need to talk about it. That's all. That's all. So that's the first the first the first the first the first the first the first the first the first the first the first the first the first the first the first the first the first the first the first the first the first the first the first the first the first the first the first the first the first the first the first the first entry the first the first the first entry the first entry the first the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th th. th. toooooo to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to tho th. th. that's the first entry into the Month of Love, which we did not introduce at the beginning of this episode at all. It is the Month of Love. A little theme month.
Starting point is 00:50:52 We've never done a theme month before, no I don't think so. We try to do a theme year once, remember that? I don't remember what the theme was? Rage. That's our year of rage. We kept watching things we liked. We were like, ha ha ha, this is so fun, forget it. Do you want to do another love movie next week? I do. What do you want to do? Let's do a Zom-Romcom. What is it? Warm bodies. I'm only going to talk about it like this. Warm bodies. I'm going to start smoking up here if you're going to do that. Can I read you a little something from Mail? I'm gonna start smoking up here if you're gonna do that. Can I read you a little something from Mailbag? I would love that.
Starting point is 00:51:29 This is from Kaylee on Twitter who says, Finally decided to start at Wearable Famulance from the beginning after listening to random episodes for the last six months, and my commute is delighted. Oh, that's awesome. Thank you, Kaley. That's really kind of you. Thank you. Oh, I'm so glad to hear that. Yeah. Also, I feel like the beginning ones have to be rough. Yeah, I wanted to apologize for how long the theme song was.
Starting point is 00:51:52 Oh, yeah, it was like 45 seconds or something. Like 10 minutes? I wrote this fuck, it's gonna hang out for a whole time. Appreciate my art. Can I read you a review from Podcast Republic? Absolutely. This is from Zena, Five Stars. Listening to these two fools, rant about stupid movies has brought me so much joy and laughter over the last few years. Katie and Alan are genuinely funny but it never feels performative. It's like hanging out with friends. Which is so fucking nice, but honestly I'm being a little performative. I don't laugh this
Starting point is 00:52:31 much in normal conversation. Oh my god no. I barely laugh ever. I don't make this many dick jokes in any other situation. Why would you lie to these nice people? Unless I bring out the dick jokes in you? It could be. Now I have listened to all of your episodes at least 12 times replacing the JRE podcast. Oh do you know what that is? The Joe Rogan? Hey Joe Rogan. Coming for you. Actually we're better than you. 12 times? 12 times. Also, you're skewing our stats.
Starting point is 00:53:13 Just kidding. Well, if he keeps them all downloaded on his phone, that's true. Or if it's the same IP address I think. We have like 270 episodes. Would you like to figure out how many minutes that is? Okay, oh my? th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the. thi. thi. the. the. th. th you like to figure out how many minutes that is? Okay, hold on here. Oh my God. So an average of like 50 minutes, would you say? Yeah. Okay, so 270 episodes times 50 minutes, times 12,000 is 162,000. Minutes! Yeah! How many hours do you think that is? It's 2,700 hours? That's 112.5 days, which is 16 weeks. I love that you turned to the math magician. Thanks, I got a calculator up on my phone. Well, thank you very much for that review. It continues. Oh, okay. It's hard to, I'm in New Mexico. it's hard to find any people to discuss horror. Please consider headhunter on shutter. Oh, thanks.
Starting point is 00:54:08 Thanks. Yeah, we will put it on the list. We'll be your podcast friends to talk about horror movies with. Remember when we did those few months of only doing things that it was not for people at home but I think you will get a big kick out of it? I like. Enjoy your kick. I'm excited. This is from Cambria's Kolex, friend of the podcast. This is you versus the guy she tells you not to worry about. Can I describe it?
Starting point is 00:54:46 Please. It's one of those two panel memes. The you is, um, skippy scribbles. And the guy she tells you not to worry about is Teddy Rocksman. That's awesome. Thank you so much. That brought a lot of joy into my heart, honestly. I love that that is the most you-specific meme. It's so true. I don't think anyone's ever made a meme that's really about me before and I'm really
Starting point is 00:55:14 happy. Thank you. You've been meme doc. Oh man I'm gonna retweet that. So come back next week for warm bodies. Don't. That was the whiniest I think I've ever been on this podcast. So. Oh, that was the grossest I've ever been. Great. Um, where did I watch warm bodies? I think I had to rent it from Amazon.
Starting point is 00:55:37 I rented it from Amazon. So it's out there for rentals from rental places. And go to T-Public, search where-wiff ambulance and buy our swag. I'd use the word swag. I liked it. Leave us a review on iTunes or wherever you can leave reviews. Yeah, please do that.
Starting point is 00:55:54 It really does help people find the show. Makes us move up those charts that we were so excited about last week. We like climb back up in Finland. I know. And I think we dropped off entirely in Finland. God damn it, Finland. What do we have to do to get on your charts, Finland? You tell us. Rare exports too.
Starting point is 00:56:12 Doesn't exist yet. We have to film it. We're going to make it. And thanks for listening to another episode of Where We'll Find. Bye. Bye. Oh
