Starting point is 00:00:28 Hello? Who is this? Who is this? Who is this? Who is this? Who is this? Who is this? Who is this? Who is this? Who is this? Who is this? Who is this? Who is this? Who is this? Who is this? Who is this? Who is this? Who is this? Who is this? Who is this? Who is this? Who is this? Who is? Who is this? Who is this? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who is? Who is? Who is? Who is? Who is? Who is? Who is? Who is? Who is? Who is? Who is? Who is? Who is? Who is? Who is? Who is? Who is? Who is? Who is? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? Who is? Who is this? Who is this? Who is this? Why does it happen so many times? Why do I become Cookie Monster when I try to be the scream guy? What is this? Who is this? Who is this? Who is this? Who is this? Who? I really want to burp with my microphone pressed to my throat right now, but I won't.
Starting point is 00:00:51 Oh, Scra Threem. What have you done to us? I mean, okay, tell me, you have mentioned now to me that you watched it many times? Can you tell me what's going on there? So, uh, I'm Alan. I'm Katie. We probably even said this in six months. Um, so I was like, I don't really want to sit down and watch this movie.
Starting point is 00:01:14 So I'll watch it while I work. But I know I'm not going to play super close attention to it. So I'll watch it every day until we record. So I watch this movie three days in a row.. So, so, so, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th th th thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi. So I've watched this movie three days in a row. So as if my life wasn't feeling enough like Groundhog's Day, I'm now repeating one two-hour-long activity every day. Why didn't you just sit down and do it, buddy? I don't know. I feel like I have a real good grasp on this film right now. That's great because I also watched it in three days but I watched a piece
Starting point is 00:01:49 of it on each of the three days because I don't know I just couldn't I guess. Like I had 15 minutes to go before we started recording this and I was like fine I'm just going to watch it. Who is this? Who is this? Who is this? I decided this whole franchise is just be called, who's calling? Who's on the phone? It's always somebody on the fucking phone. All right, well, let's get into it.
Starting point is 00:02:23 First, have you seen Scratum? I have seen Scritum. Okay, I'm not. It's fine. It's fine. Okay. But I felt very lost the beginning of this because I didn't know who the fuck anybody was or why anything was
Starting point is 00:02:39 why anything was. Yeah, I mean, I also felt that way. I knew who Cotton Weary was just from having seen the first two movies. I forgot him entirely from the first. Yeah, yeah, he has a bigger role in the second movie. Okay. And fortunately a very small role in this movie because I, can I be mean? Oh, please. His face is very disconcerting to me. He's a handsome man, right? I don't think so, not for me anyway. I'm sure, then, thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi. I thi. I hea thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi. I thi. I thi thi. I thi. I thi thi thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi thi thi. I thi thi thi thi to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to tooooooooooooo toee. I the the the. th me. He's a handsome man, right? I don't think so, not for me anyway. I'm sure for somebody. Hmm. He's in those Wolverine Marvel comic book
Starting point is 00:03:10 movies. He has the kind of the head shape for it, you know. Blockhead. Yeah, blockhead. Like you put his head on the ground and kick it and it wouldn't roll. So Cotton Weary's talk show in this is 100% cotton, which is like very funny to me. Oh, there's some really funny shit in this movie. Oh yeah. That's one of them. His white suit and the fact that like Creed just starts playing in his home. It was such a good choice if you want to really hammer home that this guy in a white suit is a complete asshole. Yeah, never date a man who makes you listen to Creed. I know it's the year 2000, but even then.
Starting point is 00:03:53 With arms wide open, Katie. With arms wide open. God damn. That man sucks. Yeah. So he gets a phone call while he's driving home from a sexy wrong number. Yeah, who gets a wrong number and is like, well, let's chat? Oh, you're a woman.
Starting point is 00:04:19 Oh, I think his voice is very sexy. Eh. Oh, I think his voice is very sexy. He believes that the caller recognizes his voice from television. He buys that line. On a year 2000 cell phone, like he's just going to transmit that clearly. I couldn't tell, I can't remember if he was on the, on his cell phone or on his car phone at this point, because he gets a call on the other one. I believe the call that he gets on his cell phone because he hangs up the car phone when he's talking to his agent about getting that Navy Seals movie together, whatever the fuck he's talking about. I wholeheartedly believe that Leaves Shriber has been in a th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thie, thie, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, their, thi, the, their, their, thi, their, their, their, I the call, the call, the call, the call, the call, the call, the call, the call, the call, the call, the call, the call, the call, the call, the call, the call, the call, the call, the call, the call, the call, the call, the call, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thr, thr, thr, thr, thri, throwne, throwne, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, their, the call, movie though. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:05 Yeah. So he gets this call from a woman who's all, oh my god it's cotton weary, I love your show. Until she isn't. Because in this movie the killer has a voice modulator that can make anybody's voice pitch perfect. Can we get into the technology behind that real quick? Please. How the fuck does this thing work? And is he the greatest actor that's ever lived? I don't know, because Dewey's using a pager.
Starting point is 00:05:39 So like, what am I saying? What in what world is this happening? When he's later, Nev Campbell, I'm sorry, Sydney Prescott, calling Dewey, and being like, I'm with a strong policeman right now. And like perfect Nev Campbell voice, just like, this would be so stupid. So stupid. Although I will say that having already seen Scraform, I had lower expectations of this film going in and it is not nearly as bad as Scorform. 100% agree. Okay, good. Although the twist is just as shitty. It's a really unsatisfying ending for sure. Oh yeah, yeah. We forgot to mention that this movie's taking place in Hollywood.
Starting point is 00:06:24 Did you know it was Hollywood? It's Hollywood. It's Hollywood. It's in Hollywood. See, I hear you. But I also kind of like the old Hollywood aspect of it. First of all, I hate the way her mother's storyline turns out. But I like the idea of an old Hollywood murder mystery,
Starting point is 00:06:45 kind of like a black dollia murder. You know what I mean? Just like, there's a noir aspect to that that I enjoy. I was just laughing at the 10 minute opening shot of a helicopter flying past the Hollywood sign. Like, huh, huh, you got this? You all got this? I know, I know. And it's like, part of me wondered if that was even the Hollywood sign.. Like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, th. Like, th. Like, th. Like, th. Like, th. Like, th. Like, th. th. th. Like, the th. the th. th. Like, th. Like, like, like, like, like, like, like, y'all, you all got this? I know, I know, and it's like, part of me wondered if that was even the Hollywood sign. They just set that up in someone's backyard.
Starting point is 00:07:10 Welcome to Hollywood, Vancouver. It's also where Friday the 13th, Part 7, Jason takes place. Uh, Kate 8, part 8, I corrected myself, you should be proud of me. Sorry, I was embodied by the spirit of the internet and I had to correct you. Immediately well actually. Yeah. So this phone call tells him that he's got to run home because his girlfriend, his partner, is in trouble because there's a murderer in the house.
Starting point is 00:07:46 Oh, and also he's a murderer. Like the caller is the murderer. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Well, then he convinces, oh my god, this is so fucking stupid. Then the killer uses the voice modulator to completely and perfectly emulate Cotton Weary's voice and says a bunch of creepy shit to his partner, which is from the other side of the door. It is not on a phone, right? It's like from the other room. You can't just do that. Like I just don't
Starting point is 00:08:16 believe that at all. Yeah, your voice is not going to bleed through in this voice thing that you just hold a couple inches in front of your mouth to use. Yeah, it's just not, it's so dumb. So then when Cotton Weary comes home, she's like, oh, I'm scared of you because you just said this creepy shit to me through the door, madam. I'm sick of playing your stab games. Yeah, that was weird and funny actually. As a man who's not well versed in the Scra threem universe, I was like, is that sexy talk? And then I remember that the movie is called Stab.
Starting point is 00:08:56 The movie is called Stab, but also I think that he's like, that's his thing, you know? I like to role play as the guy who got arrested and off for a murder of his warmer lover. And also, that's also who I am. That's who I am. It's literally who I am. Oh, 100% cotton. Who pretends to be themselves in bed? Wait. That's not right. So he she gets killed, he gets killed, right? He gets
Starting point is 00:09:30 killed first then she gets, it doesn't matter, who cares, they're both dead. She gets killed first and that, yeah, yeah, and there's a lot of, before he gets to the health, there's a lot of almost titties in this scene. Mm-hmm. She like drops a towel. Yeah, and then she's putting on a shirt and we get there as the straps are going up on her nightier or whatever. Yeah. No titties in this movie. Oh no, titty free. Titty free. Titty free zone. Not even a Rose McGowan like extreme hard nipple as in the first movie. Oh God. Cut glass. So speaking of nipples. This thi thi thi thi thi the th th thir thir thir thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi their thi thi thi their their their thi their their their their their their the in the first move. Yeah, oh God. Cut glass. So speaking of nipples, this then cuts to Sydney, who is in her like Lilithfair fashion period of her life, where she's just like brawless with a tank top and some like flowy pants. Yeah. In like the Mendocino Valley or whatever. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:26 What is her income? Definitely wearing Berkins stocks. I think all the, maybe like royalties from books and movies about her life maybe. Oh, okay, because the house. That house is a dream. I want to live on that house with all that land. And then my job just being like being like hey I'm going to help people on this crisis line that's all I got to do just volunteer with your time
Starting point is 00:10:49 yeah no yeah I think she uh I think Sydney cash out why do we care wait because I'm just a hundred percent jealous of her living situation I would never want to live somewhere that remote. Oh, and especially if you had all that security there? Oh, that would do away with my fear of being home invaded. Just locked down? Yeah, I guess. Yeah, so we do see that she has like key pads on a gate and on her doors.
Starting point is 00:11:21 And she has like lock that's like at the top of the door and she's very um her home is very secure. Mm-hmm. Oh we forgot to mention that when the guy calls Cotton Mather he says um nope nope no cotton weary he's like tell me where Sydney is. Oh right because Cotton used to be with Maureen and he thought that maybe Cotton would know where Sydney is but didn't thin to tel the tene-up to to to to to to to to the the to the to the the th th th th th the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the to the to the their their the to to to to to to to to to to to to to th. th. their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their the the the the the the toe the toe toe the toe toe toe toe toe toe toooooooooooooooooooooo. their to be with Maureen and he thought that baby Cotton would know where Sidney is. But didn't Sidney get Cotton arrested for the murder of her mother? Yeah, and put in jail. I mean, convicted. She testified. Yeah. Probably not going to bro down with that person afterward. I think they get a little bit browy in the second movie actually because Spoilers for Scream 2. I thi's the red herring in Scream 2, but it turns out that he's like kind of helping her. Oh, and then some other family member is doing the murder? I can't remember the killer actually is. I'm going to look it up real quick.
Starting point is 00:12:15 Okay, I hope it's Jayda Pickett Smith. Oh, God, she doesn't make it past the opening credits. God damn it. The killer is her boyfriend's best friend in the second movie. Her boyfriend being Jerry O'Connell and the best friend being Timothy Oliphant. Oh a handsome killer. Yeah. Just like the Skeet Ulrich. Yeah. Then we cut to Gail Weathers, who's out in Hollywood. Mm-hmm. Did the bangs live up to the hype for you? I wanted there to be a scene where they talked about how she was the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. the the the of. of. of. the the the the the the their their their their their. their. their. their. their. their. their. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the te. tea. tea. tea. tea. tea. tea. tea. tea. te. their their their their. thehmm. Did the bangs live up to the hype for you? I wanted there to be a scene where they talked about how she was lighting a pilot light and burnt her bangs off. She's a beautiful woman, and I feel like she must have gotten those bangs cut and was like, oh no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:13:00 Later, I'm 100% sure that there is a wig of those bangs when she had to do a reshoot. Good for her growing those bad boys out. It's not great. Mm-mm. You can't have baby bangs that are that wispy. If you're gonna have baby bangs, they have to be pretty thick. Yeah, and I feel like you've got to be rocking something else besides just like the long straight like she almost had like a Betty Page with baby bangs which is a weird a weird choice. It is. The year 2000 though we were going through changes everything was you know
Starting point is 00:13:34 changing. Y2K people were worried airplanes were falling from the sky. She may have cut her own bangs out of anxiety. I remember being so nervous about Y2K. Yeah, as well you should have been. It could have been terrified. No, I wasn't. I thought it was a joke, because I was a teenager. I thought it was a joke, too. But I've heard a lot of things in retrospect that if things hadn't gotten fixed, thiiiiiii. that if th th thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, tho, tho, tho, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. thi, thi, thi. thi, thi, thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii, thi, part of the things that had to be
Starting point is 00:14:06 fixed. I know it's just part of the universe that had to be righted in order for Y2K to not happen. I've got a quick question about being a serial killer in one of these movies. Okay. Is it like eating a can of pringles that once you pop, you just can't stop? Yeah, you'll just kill indiscriminately, I think. Like, there's no cause for most of the killings that happen, except just for somebody to die, right? Right, especially when they're like so like unflinchingly focused on vengeance. But yet you're just gonna like, I'm taking out out, like, Jotin'bather's girlfriend, and I'm taking out like Joe Bob over here and like just like anybody's gonna fucking die and it's like but why why are you doing this? Honestly it's like if a pedestrian had walked into a scene they
Starting point is 00:14:52 would have just killed them for the fun of it you know yeah yeah doesn't make any sense it's very weird so yeah so yeah we meet Gail Weathers and we also meet Dr. McDreemie the cop. His hair is something. It is like so th. It's like th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. Why th. Why th. Why th. Why th. Why th. Why th. Why th. Why th. Why th. Why th. Why th. Why th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to to th. to to to to the. to to to the. the. the. the. the. the. the. th. th. the th also meet Dr. McDreamy, the cop. His hair is something. It is like so perfect. It's very Brian from wings, too. That's what it is. That's doing it for me. There's a very suave look to just having your hair pushed back like that.
Starting point is 00:15:24 Oh yeah, yeah. It's something I strive for. It's pretty, your hair's pretty suave. Oh, thanks, man. You just don't have the length that Patrick Dempsey is working with in this film. Yeah, plus how you like shave up the sides and back. I don't have like that flowy all over like he's got. You should think about it. Yeah, but I feel like then I'm walking into that territory of looking like that professor guy from Village of the Damned. Oh.
Starting point is 00:15:50 Uh-huh. Christopher Reeve. Not Christopher Reeve. The old guy that came back from Japan. Oh, that's right. He had the worst air cut. And I thought maybe I should get it, but you said no. Yeah. Well, there's a, I, I, I, I feel, I feel, I feel, I feel, I feel, I feel, I feel, I feel, I feel, I feel, I feel, I feel, I feel, I feel, I feel, I feel, I feel, I feel, I feel, I feel, I feel, I feel, I feel, I feel, I feel, I feel, I feel, I feel, I th. I feel, I feel like, I feel like, I feel like, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. th. th. th. thi. thi. th. th. thi. thi. the. thi. th. the. th. thi. th. th. th. th. th. said no. Yeah. Well, I feel like there's a chasm between the guy from Village of the Damned and Patrick Dempsey. No, it's like two ply.
Starting point is 00:16:12 It's like two plot toilet paper just rubbing right up against each other. Back to back. See, Dr. McDreamy, the cop finds her and is like, hey, I got this information and I need your help because you're the most expert expert that's ever expert and not like your bangs. He just like lets her in on all of this, this like case specific information that I feel like a cop should never let civilians in on, particularly journalists. Yeah, like he's a cop in Rome in a Dario Argento movie. Yes, he's
Starting point is 00:16:46 like, you and I, Gail, we'll figure it out. And then she's just like, I've been deputized and I will go everywhere and do everything. Yeah, and she does. She is now a cop and Dewey is not, which is confusing. Oh man, Dewey. How do you feel about Dewey in this movie? I love Dewey. Yeah, he's a good time. I think David Arquette is so charming. I think he's so cute and lovable. And I really love his like platonic friendship with Sidney. Oh yeah, yeah. He's like been helping her hide all this time and didn't tell anyone, including Gail. Yeah, it's nice because it's not like a big brother little sister thing. It's just like two bros and like two people that are helping each other out. I'm really into that like that just kind of friendship love like I think that's really sweet. Yeah. How do you feel about
Starting point is 00:17:33 do? I do. I feel like with every time we see him he's more and more comedic relief. Yeah, like this movie he's pretty like he at point he is he is he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. th. thi. that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's thi. that's that's that's that that that that that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that that th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. th. th. th. th. the. th. the. the. the. that's that's that's that he is downright slapstick. Yeah, he definitely is. When he gets hit with that knife later on in the movie and just like, oh, glee, it falls downstips. The sound it makes when the knife hits him in the forehead, the like, clung, is just, just, bananas. There's a few times in this movie where I'm like, all right, they're just fucking with me now. Like, this is just like, and that was one of them. I mean, I honestly think so. I do think that that's intentionally stupid.
Starting point is 00:18:10 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. But I don't necessarily love intentionally stupid. All right, so Gail goes to, what is it, Sundown Studios, Sundance Studios, or something? Who care? Sunshine Studios, where they're filming the Stab Three movie to do her research on what's going on, in her like, suit from the man in the yellow hat collection that she's wearing. Yellow suit red camisol.
Starting point is 00:18:43 It is upsetting. The shoulder pads are like redonisole. Yeah. It is upsetting. The shoulder pads are like redonculus. It's skin tight. And but just like, yeah, when have yellow and red ever been a nice combination for anyone ever? You take that back. Mr. McDonald, Mr. Ronald McDonald? I fucking hate clown. She looks like a clown though, with her baby bangs and her yellow suit and red shirt
Starting point is 00:19:13 and matching purse. But Dewey gave her that purse. He did. He's so sweet. Give someone a purse. Do we do? Do drop as Putty keeps calling him Do you drop as putty keeps calling him. God damn it, I love that man. He's so fucking funny. So there are some new characters in this movie
Starting point is 00:19:33 who are played by actors I super love, such as, obviously Parker Posey, who is just Parker Posying the shit out of this role, and I just think she's such high comedy. She is worth the price of omission to this film. She's worth the hour and a half long slog of this movie. When she dies there is no point in watching anymore I would say. I would 100% agree. And I also just love Patrick Warburton like Puddy's one of my all-time favorite television characters. He's just the best. He does a voice on this cartoon, The Venture Brothers, and it's amazing. Like his voice is just so buttery and incredible and just ridiculous. He is so great.
Starting point is 00:20:17 And then there are new characters that are played by actors that I detest, such as one Jennifer McCarthy. Oh, and she's cool, right? Um, no. And I'm not going to get into it, because it's gotten me in trouble here before. Not... Fuck Jenny McCarthy. But she's funny because she farts and she's pretty. Um... I'm just, just like stay with Singled Out.
Starting point is 00:20:45 Do Singled Out and Disappear, like Chris Hardwick. Wait. Whoops! Wops! God, the two of them should have just gotten into a boat and rode into the sea forever. Never to be seen again, those two motherfuckers. But it's also, we get a very sweet cameo and appearance of one Lance Enrixen. Yeah. And Roger Corman as a fucking studio exec with with lines even.
Starting point is 00:21:16 He looked a little like he may have just shit his pants. He didn't want to tell anybody. But it was nice to see him. It was really sweet, like, the two of them together, like, I like, I was like, fuck, this movie has star power and it gets even bigger later. You mean when Jay and Silent Bob show up? What if I did? What if I did?
Starting point is 00:21:41 When Carrie Fischer shows up? Yeah, sure. Whatever. Our second Carrie Fisher movie. What was our first? The Burbs. Oh right, she wasn't the Burbs. Man, she's just captivating. She's so easy to watch. And especially when like people are like, yeah, just do what you do and you can be shitty. And she's like, oh, I got this. I'm on this. Yeah. She's so, um, acerbic. Is that the right word? Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. She's great. And you still want to hang. She's like, that person's like, oh, they're going to be so fucking mean and I'm like, thi. th. so. th. th. th. thi. Yeah. th. Yeah. thi. Yeah. thi. thi. thi. Yeah. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. th. thi. thi. th. th. thi. th. thi. th. th. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I also like kind of want to win their approval all the time and it's like sort of toxic for you. Yeah. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. Your relationship with Carrie Fisher isn't healthy, but you need it. Like Carrie Fisher texts you to go out at like 11 o'clock and you're already in your pajamas and she's like, bitch, get off your ass and you're like fine, but you would never do that for anyone else. They could have done, they could have made Jennifer's body starring Carrie Fisher.
Starting point is 00:22:46 And it would have been amazing. One Honda. That's also how I imagine Lindsay Lohan to be, so maybe they could have just plugged Carrie Fisher into I Know Who Killed Me, which would be a film I would love to watch. Even though I love to watch the original, I know who killed me. Might be my favorite movie we've thia th. thia th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th. th. th. th. th. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th. thi, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi theeeeean, thi theean, thean, thi theean, thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi to watch the original, I Know Who Killed Me. Might be my favorite movie we've ever done. You know you can tell the killer because blue. I can't, I gotta watch that again. I love that movie. Yeah! Remember when she's like, hand, leg, arms, all gone?
Starting point is 00:23:19 You're like, Lindsay Lungen, you didn't learn a fucking line for this movie. I know who killed me. Lindsay Logan, you didn't learn a fucking line for this movie. I know who killed me. Oh, fuck. Go listen to that episode. We had a joyous time talking about that. It was literally the most fun I've ever had in my life. So sad. So, Lance Henderson and Roger Corman and the guy from Felicity are talking about the
Starting point is 00:23:50 movie being shut down because of this murder. Right. I hate that guy from Felicity, I have to say. Roman? Yeah. Scott Foley. Like, what is your face? What are you doing?
Starting point is 00:24:02 Why are you using it to act? He's like the, ah, fuck fuck what is that guy's name who is in you've got mail he worked in the bookstore I can't think of his name right now Dave Chappelle not Dave Chappell the other guy he's the this Roman guy is like the like shitty waspy version of that dude okay I, I can see that. I know you mean, yeah. Yeah, Steve's on? Steve's on.
Starting point is 00:24:29 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh. Oh, I just pointed and winked at you. I didn't see the wink because of the glare of the computer screen in your glasses, so I'm actually glad you told me that because otherwise you were just pointing. It doesn't bother me. So this is where we learn that Dewey and Gale have broken up, and I'm genuinely a bit sad knowing what happens to the two actors in their future relationship. I couldn't remember if they were really in a, if they were in an IRO relationship, but yes,
Starting point is 00:25:01 they are, right? They have a daughter, yeah. They were married for a long time like from the time these movies were happening until like the last couple years I think. Oh okay that's a bummer. Like you know when they got engaged at the end of this movie I was like oh you're not you really because they're like you know we're not going to make it and I was like oh you know you guys really you know you guys. But it was like a, it was, it's sweet knowing that this was in like the flowering of their love at this point. This went a few years in, you know. Flowering of their love.
Starting point is 00:25:32 Yeah, I'm very romantic. That's so nice. Anyway, they've broken up for this movie. And Dewey is dating Parker Posey, who plays Gailweet, the the which I think is so fucking funny because she's such a good Gale Weathers. When she meets Gail Weathers for the first time and then goes into Gail Weathers character while talking to her, it's so fucking funny. What is not so fucking funny? What is a joke that falls totally flat is the fact that her name is Jennifer and the obviously British but doing an American accents woman's name is Angelina and there's a little jab about sorry it didn't work out with Brad Pitt to uh oh wow to took her posy but like which is weird because Jennifer Aniston and Courtney Cox are like IRL friends because they were TV friends for so long
Starting point is 00:26:22 it's just weird it It's super weird. I didn't even put that together. That's interesting. Her name and the credits is Jennifer Jolie. And the other woman is Angelina Tyler. And I was like, why didn't you just go for the gusto on that? So is Dianne Richmond's character is Tyson Fox? Is that a Jamie Fox reference? Like what? Yeah, maybe, maybe it's Jamie Fox. Who knows? Oh, speaking of names, I have to see if we can get, if you can stand any light on this
Starting point is 00:26:55 being the resident scream expert. Yeah, yeah. Lance Henrickson's character is named John Milton. Yes. And he's the guy who reveals that all of these people's dreams just went up and smoke. Is this a Paradise Lost Reference? I wondered, because that is not a name you just select. Right, right, fucking John Milton's a big name to drop.
Starting point is 00:27:18 It's a name, it's a big name. Wolfgang, Amadeus. I mean, all the names must mean something because they think that's funny somehow. Right. Yeah, for sure. But like, Roman theme is like Roman Bridger or something? Yeah. What is that? Who is that a reference to? Roman Polansky and Jeff. Jeff Bridger? Jeff Bridger and his Bridger? Jeff Bridger and his brother Bo? Are they brothers?
Starting point is 00:27:51 Yeah. Oh. Oh. And their dad was also a famous actor. Yeah, Roman Brigger. Yeah, I figured it was a Roman Polansky thing because they're going back to hang out in the Gross House where the sex crimes happen. And he's all excited to look around and like about the rooms that the sex crimes happened in.
Starting point is 00:28:19 And I also felt like having Roger Corman in this movie, then later when they're talking about the kind of movies that Maureen Prescott was in, you're like, oh, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thus, th, thus, thus, thus, th, thus, thus, that, thus, thus, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii, thi, thi, thi, this movie, then later when they're talking about the kind of movies that Maureen Prescott was in, you're like, oh, those are Roger Corman movies. Yeah. Also, when Gale gets kicked out of the set for Stab 3 when Lance Hendrick's and Caesar, he says no press, as she's leaving, two gentlemen mistake her for Connie Chung. Being Jay- Two gentlemen being.
Starting point is 00:28:47 Jay and Silent Bob. Why are they in this movie? This movie takes place in the same universe as Clerks. Right? Because yeah, the two of them, those two characters are on a studio tour. Exactly. Exactly. Wow. Why are they in this movie, though?
Starting point is 00:29:10 Fuck, I mean, because they were everywhere at this point in time, like they had their own movie where they struck back, and yeah. Wow. They were a big deal. I guess. I kind of checked out after the first trilogy, you know. Okay, sure. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. They do have like a chemistry together that I really enjoy and I think that's mostly based on clerks how much I enjoyed the two of them in
Starting point is 00:29:39 that movie. Yeah, they must be, they must be good friends, the two of them. They are. To continue doing this shit, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, they must be a good friends, the two of them. They are. To continue doing this shit, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. If you'd like to hear our further thoughts on Kevin Smith, you can go back and listen to our episode on the worst Johnny Depp. Um, do you remember the- Fuck Johnny Depp was in that movie? He plays the French Canadian detective.
Starting point is 00:30:10 Oh my God. Oh my God. Holy fucking shit. I don't know. So, after we see Jay and Silent Bob, we cut to Sydney at home and she has this dream, sorry that I said home in my Delaware accent, at home. She has this dream that's very West Craven, very like Freddy's gonna show up with her mom pounding on the window and her mom's inflection on everything is off. She's like,
Starting point is 00:30:45 Sydney, let me in. Sydney, come here. Like it's all wrong somehow? It is. I think she's doing a spooky voice, but it's the opposite of spooky. It's like someone singing their lines in a song form. The only way I can remember these is putting them into a song. Well you have to stop singing eventually. Do I? And then she, her mom slides down the window and just leaves two bloody fingerprints on the window and is like, is what, what is this, what the fuck is going on? Did she just finger Christ's wound? What is happening right now? In the scene previous to that one too, Sidney's dad is at her house and I was like, no, you are definitely dead.
Starting point is 00:31:32 And then I went back and thought about the first movie. He's not dead. I had no idea that that the threats to the movie. I don't remember anything about the thrapapapapap It is, it's the plot driver, because we find out that, although it's recapped in this movie, so you should have seen it about three times. Yeah. It's that Billy, her boyfriend's dad had cheated on his mom with her mom, because her mom was a slut, which I'm doing in the finger-quoadest of finger quotes. Ugh. It's like your mom slept around, therefore everyone has to die.
Starting point is 00:32:07 Right, literally everyone you've ever met and a bunch of people you haven't have to die. It's so bunk, I'm not into it at all. No, it's a bad luck. It's a bad luck even in the year 2000, you know. Oh, for sure. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm also realizing that I'm trying to think of stuff that happened in Scream and I am definitely thinking of the craft. You got your Neff Campbell's all mixed up. I do. I do and that guy that looked like Skeet Ulrich that was in the craft. That was Skeet Ulrich. Oh, wasn't? Yeah. He's in both movies? Yeah. No wonder I'm getting them mixed up then. Yeah, that's fine. I thought it was like Scott Eurek, but no, it's also.
Starting point is 00:32:51 Scott Eurik. I'm just getting Ulrich and Lars Ulrich related. Not that I know of. Too bad. Anyway, yes, it does a dream within a dream, which is also such a West Craven thing to do. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's so silly, it's not scary at all.
Starting point is 00:33:12 There are way too many attempted jump scares in this movie. That it's just like, it becomes annoying. Which is a bummer because West Craven can do them. The first scream has jump scares to the hilt, which, and I remember being like terrified, terrified watching that movie. I love that that movie scared you. Fuck off, I was 14. Fuck off! Fuck off! Fuck off! Quarantine Katie is mad.
Starting point is 00:33:45 Well, this feeds perfectly into the next thing where we see Jenny McCarthy going to, or her character Sarah, going to meet up with Roman at the studio, and she runs into Tyson, who I got very excited about. Because... Why? Did you watch the Cosby show when you were a kid? Not really. Okay, Rudy Huxstable had a best friend who she called Bud, and it was played by the guy who plays Tyson.
Starting point is 00:34:15 And I was like, Bud? What's up? I got so stoked. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. He's one of those people that grew up and his head stayed exactly the same just got bigger with him. That's cute. He does not have much to do in this movie. No, he has to like deliver the black man line later on in the film where something happened he goes, mother fuck. And that's like the reason he's in the movie and it's such a bummer because he's really good, he's really funny. He has a couple lines that are like he's like like like like like like. He's th. th. th. th. the th. th. th. th. th. the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. th. the th. tho tho. He's they. He's tho. He's thi. He's tho. He's tho. He's tho. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's the. He's the. He's theeee. He's theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. He's th. He's the. He's the. He's good, he's really funny. He has a couple lines that are like he's good at making fun of people and it works.
Starting point is 00:34:46 Okay. Yeah. But, uh, yeah. He's just very unmemorable to me in this movie because he doesn't fit into the plot in any appreciable way. Oh yeah, him and the Tom guy, the guy who's playing Dewey in the movie. I literally forgot about him until you just said that that that th, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, th. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, th. Yeah, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi, thi, the movie. I literally forgot about him until you just said that. Yeah, and he has like one of the biggest deaths in the movie. Yeah, that was the only thing I remembered from this movie was that there was a big explosion. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:13 And having watched it three times, I can tell you that like you see the guy's face explode when the gas goes off. It was a really good effect. Oh that is a cool effect I didn't even notice that. Yeah. Now watch it a third time. Speaking of cool and shitty effects when Tyson comes out and he has the scissors through his head it looks so shitty and I was like thank you for just like doing a shitty makeup and being proud of it. And it's like they're flopping on his head. Yeah totally uneven. But this is what made me think of like when you you yelled fuck you you you you you you you you you the th you th you the th you th you th you the th you th you the th th fuck you th fuck you th fuck you th fuck you th fuck you th fuck you th fuck thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thotally uneven. But this is what made me think of like when you you yelled fuck you at me because she... I said fuck off. I would never say fuck you. I would never. Well I saw my note that said fuck you Sarah because she meets up with Tice and he's like yeah I was doing a makeup test and she goes, uh makeup you need it.
Starting point is 00:36:03 I actually like, fuck you, Sarah. I mean, the next like three of her lines include is something about like, I'm 35 playing a 21-year-old. Like, I would fucking love to be playing a 21-year-old right now. Jenny McCarthy. I would love anyone to think I'm fucking 21. And she says the thing about shower scenes have been done, vertigo. Hello?
Starting point is 00:36:30 Which is like, oh yeah, oh yes, we got it. She's stupid. She's stupid. But also like nobody's going to come up with vertigo as the movie that that happened in. Nobody. Uh-huh. So she gets murdered, who cares? I like this murder because she goes into a room to hide from the killer and there are racks and racks of the ghost face killer mask.
Starting point is 00:36:57 And she hides in those and the killer is hiding in the rack with her, which I enjoyed. I did like that. Like even though it's pretty expected, he like slowly slides out from the rack. I did like that. Yeah. Fine. And then kills her in like the stupidest way to stabs her in the backstabbing in this movie.
Starting point is 00:37:14 Yeah, it's dumb. Like if you're not going to have morey and Gale still have feelings for each other. She came out here to work on 60 Minutes 2. That's so funny. He's very funny to me. But the fuck it, the piece of resistance in this movie is Parker Bozzi smoking a cigarette, yelling that she hasn't smoked in a year and a half. And when everybody leaves the room,
Starting point is 00:37:49 she turns to Patrick Warburton and just jumps into his arms. And there's no way that was planned. He's like, okay. I also think she add-limbed the line, somebody's got to pay. Because it's just like the Parker posie-est Parker posying. And I just like love when she gets to do this, you know? I just fucking love her. I mean, just like, just yell action and be like,
Starting point is 00:38:15 I'm this posy. I think, actually that happens probably a lot for her. Like, that line in, you've got mail where she's fucking her eyes laser. I, I mean, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I just, I just, I just, I just, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, th. I'm like, th. I'm, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th.. It's like, I honestly think that was ad-live too. I mean, she's so good in the Christopher Guest movies and all that stuff. Like, oh man. Yeah, she's great. This is not a busy bee. This is a bird. I love her. But I just love her, just leaping into Patrick Whartz.
Starting point is 00:38:47 Like, because they're supposed to be insinuated that the two of them are also romantically involved. And she's like, sure, I'll just jump into his arms. It's fine. Because he's like two feet taller than she is. Yeah. Oh man. He does not get enough to do in this movie either. He just basically shows up, says some obnoxious things, hugs Parker Posey and then gets murdered. I do like that his murder is hilarious because he gets smacked in the face with a frying band
Starting point is 00:39:12 and goes, duh, and he's like, he like, he like, he like, he like, he the tau-and-li. And then he like wanders up to the house with a knife, the knife, the knife, the knife, the the the tho, says when he thinks he's on the phone with Dewey? And he's like, I'm just making sure nobody gets murdered, like your sister. That is a horrible thing to say. It's a horrible thing to say. This is very unkind. There's no way you want that character to live after he says that. He collapses to the ground. He collapses to the door then and Dewey runs out immediately gets to him as soon as he hits the ground puts his fingers on his throat and Gail goes Dui is he dead and he just goes yeah and I was like oh people die just like that
Starting point is 00:39:52 huh stab collapse total to bring that his heart has stopped he's dead I mean do he's not good at his job we all know that right do we no longer has a job, is my understanding. Well he's a consultant on stab three. Oh, which isn't happening anymore. You're right. Yeah. Oh, yeah, right, right, right.
Starting point is 00:40:13 Okay. Okay. Uh, other thing I really love in this movie is Dr. McDreemie. Who is Dr. McDreemie has a partner named Wallace. Who is Dr. McDreamy? The cop, Patrick Dempsey. Why do you call him that? Whenever he was on ER or Chicago Hope or whatever, St. Elsewhere, one of those shows.
Starting point is 00:40:33 He's absolutely not old enough to have to be St. Elsewhere, you mania. That's a doctor show. And he was referred to as Dr. McDreamy in like the press when they would talk about him. Oh cute, he is pretty dreamy. I don't know why he's Mick Tree, I guess because he's Patrick Dempsey, never mind I know why he's big dreamy. It's not good. But his uh, his partner Wallace, who's just here to show me like, you're a fucking dickhead. Anyway, go eat shit and then walks out of the room. He the the the the the the the th the the the th th the the th th th th th th th th th th the th the th th th. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, thre-hea, thre-heat, he's th- th- th- heat, he's heat, he's heat, he's hea-hea' hea' thre-hea, he's, he's, he's. Oh, he's. Oh, he's. Oh, he's. Oh, he's. Oh, he's. Oh, he's. Oh, he's. Oh, he's. Oh, he's. Oh, he's. Oh, he's. Oh, he's. Oh, he's th. Oh, he's th. Oh, he's th. Oh, he's t t tttt-s. t-s. t-s. t-he's t-he's t-he's t-he's t-he's t-he's tree. tree.'re a fucking dickhead anyway go eat shit and then walks out of the room He's a hard-nosed LA cop You must got turn in the charcoal Like he just says these lines to people
Starting point is 00:41:15 He is from another era that nobody told him this movie was set in the modern day. He's like a newar film. I got it. I got it. Let's go. the 50s. All right. I'm all th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to have. to have. to have. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to th. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He th. He th. He th. He's. He's th. He's the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the. the the the the. He's the the. He's the. He's, uh, noir film? I got it, I got it. Let's go. 1950s. All right, I'm all over it. He should have said, yeah, see, at some point. Oh, we also forgot the line earlier on when we first meet Tyson, he's talking about how he doesn't want to lose this role because he wants to be like LL Cool J and Usher who are doing Pinter and Shakespeare in the park. I did not understand that at all. Did that really happen or did those things really happen? No, it's just, it's a, they were being silly. All right, I mean, I don't know. If you told me LL Cool J did Shakespeare in the park,
Starting point is 00:41:57 I'd be like, okay. Did Usher act? Yeah, he was in the faculty. Oh, shit. He's th, he's th, he's th, he's th, he's th, he's th, he's th, he's th, he's th, he's th, he's th, he's th, he's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. I, th. I, thi, thus, th. I, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, th. Did, th. Did, th. Did, th. Did, th. Did, that, that, th. Did, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, was in the faculty. He was in a, uh, he's been in a lot, he's been in possibly two films we've done. No. Hold on. I'm only about. He's definitely in She's All That. Which we have not covered yet. I know we haven't done, but I'm just saying yet. He's in Scary Movie 5, which we have not done yet. He's in Justin Beaver's Believe. Yeah, he's in something called Killers. What's that? Oh, nope, it's a, it's a romcom. Yeah, so he's been in a lot of stuff, sorry. How dare you
Starting point is 00:42:37 disparage the name of Usher Raymond? Not disparaging, just not remembering that he also acted acted not knowing about him is disparaging him. Man he can dance. Really can. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. So yeah, so Patrick Warburton dies, that was a hard one for me. And then they start, the lights go out and they start getting a fax of the script. I fucking love a death by fax. It was very funny. It's like, it would almost turn into a clue for a minute where they just keep running back in and out of the house. With Parker Posey screaming, I have to know what's going on.
Starting point is 00:43:19 I guess she needs, she goes, I want to know what happens, which I also feel like had to have an ad-lived. I feel like they didn't write a goddamn line for her. She's so great. She must just be a dream where you're just like, yeah, you're gonna be, I don't know, this? And she's like, yeah, I'm good. Let's go. But I'm gonna do it like me. So the person who will be spared the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the thea. the gas. Which is read by lighter light.
Starting point is 00:43:47 Yep. Because Tom- It's a huge explosion. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:55 Yeah. And Parker Boze yells, I can't stop rolling. And it's going, uh, ewea, uh, the fucker Bozy yells, I can't stop rolling. I hope she was like, hey, Wes Craven, I gotta go back in and do some ADR and add this in, because I shouldn't have yelled it while I was doing it. I just thought of this later. And then like Heather Madasaro like rolls up and she's Randy's sister, Jamie Kennedy's sister, she has a videotape that he made in his dorm room when he was 40. She has the best line in the movie.
Starting point is 00:44:38 When the cops, the cops pull her guns on her and she yells, don't shoot me, I'm 17. That is funny, that is good. Don't shoot me, I'm 17. I love that you just had Heather Madurozauer to shoot off, like you just knew that name, locked and loaded. Yeah, she's fucking Don Weener. Who's that? You've never seen Welcome to the Dollhouse? Oh, yeah, yeah! Oh shit, it's been, it's been a minute.
Starting point is 00:45:05 That is a movie that has a very large impact on my brain. Oh, yeah, it's a good. Yeah, so she's in there. She lives in a little, a little, a little, dollhouse? What are those things on the moon? No, the things on the moon. And I was like, cheese, no. Sunglasses.
Starting point is 00:45:28 No, that's the California reasons. Honestly, a quarantine has made us so fucking stupid. I'm stupider than I've ever been in my entire life. Yeah, no, I am a hundred percent losing my mind. Like, yeah. I was like, today was just like- We're currently 50 minutes into this movie. Oh shit. And there's still like an hour to go.
Starting point is 00:46:01 All right. Yes, we gotta do this. I felt you going on that tangent and I was like, no, no, no, no!.. Back. Back.. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I. I. I. I. I. th. I'm th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. I'm thi. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I th. I th. I th. I th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm thi. to. to. to. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to thi. thi. thi. thi. I am thi hour to go. All right. Yes, we gotta do this. I felt you going on that tangent and I was like, no, no, no, back on the tracks. So, yeah, so they see this video. What's this, Jamie Kennedy is like, oh, it's a, it's a trilogy, not a sequel. Watch for these things. there's a good interaction between the video and live characters, which for some reason makes the character Gale laugh.
Starting point is 00:46:26 And I think it's because Courtney Cox didn't know it was gonna happen and actually laughed about it. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, so then we get like this detective work between the two Gales, Parker Posey and Courtney Cox and they go and meet Carrie Fisher. I love when they team up. It is adorable because Parker Posey is like somebody wants to kill you so they're coming after me so if I stay with you and they really want to kill you then they'll kill you instead. It's like just the cutest thing. She like tales
Starting point is 00:46:57 Gail Weathers everywhere. But is better at being Gail Weathers than Gail Weathers is. Absolutely. Because she has the card to get into the archives. She has enough money to give Carrie Fisher to get what they need. And they find out that Maureen Prescott was acting under the name of Reno and Reynolds. Yes. And that she'd been taken to a Hollywood party as a young woman and had terrible things happened to her, which is like, oh good, this movie was fun until now. Yeah, especially with like the fact that like it starts with Sydney as a worker at a crisis center. Taking phone calls or people who are being assaulted and it's like, I guess I get what you're doing? Well, Wes Craven doesn't have the best track record with rape in a movie, so this is a...
Starting point is 00:47:49 This gets a little dicey. When we meet back up with John Milton later, and he is basically just like, yeah, yeah, she was sexually assaulted at this party that I threw it. Whatever, she knew what she was getting into. Anyway, gotta go. Yeah, come to my house later. Fuck off, Lance Henrickson. Yeah. So that's gross. That's gross. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I have the note, gross twist, assholes. Yeah. And then there's also a couple of red herrings being thrown in here like we see the very very thin British woman doing an American accent
Starting point is 00:48:28 Like in a bathroom stall with a ghost-faced costume and I think a cell phone. Yeah, so we're like supposed to believe it's her But you never really do and and earlier when the house gets blown up she comes from a different direction than everyone else and they're like, well, where were you? Where were you? Bumbobobo, that, but you? That's, but you? But you? But you? But you? But you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th? thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi th the th th th the th th the th the th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th the the th the the th the th th the th th th th. th. th. th. th. thi? thi? thi? thin? thin? thin? thi. thin? thin? thi. thin? thi thin? thi thin? thi thin? thi thi thi, she comes from a different direction than everyone else, and they're like, well, where were you? Mbubbidi-boo. That's right. Yeah, do we even says, how'd you get over there? Yeah, she's like. And then all, and then Detective Mark Kincaid, what did you call him? Dr. O'Dreambo, Dr. O'Dreambote, Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. O'Dreemie! Dr. O'Dreamy. Dr. O'Dreamboat, please.
Starting point is 00:49:07 My father was Dr. McDremy. He's like saying the creepiest stuff to Sydney. He's like, I know what it's like to see ghosts in your head, watching a scary movie whether you want to or not and watching it alone. And you're like, oh, you're definitely the killer. When she says, hey, Mick-Dreame thrii thrieie-Dreame thrie-Dreame, thr-Dream, thri-Di, thrimi, thrimi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th-oh, th-D-D-oh, th-oh, th-oh, thrie, thrie, th-oh, th-oh, th-oh, th, th, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, thr. Oh, thr. Oh, to to-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-mc-méa. Oh, to-o-o''''-méa. My thr. My thr. My th oh you're definitely the killer. When she says, hey, McDreamy, what's our favorite scary movie? And he leans it and gets nose to nose and just goes, my life. And she says, me too. Immediately thought of the Michael Keaton film where he makes the video for him child before he dies.
Starting point is 00:49:42 And I was like, that is so fucked up, you guys. Oh my God, I cried so hard at that movie. I cried so fucking hard at that movie. Oh, how could you not? Oh my, I remember stuffing a blanket in my mouth because I was sobbing so hard. Oh, oh my god. It's so sad. That's why I don't think it's so sad.
Starting point is 00:50:06 That's why I don't think it's a great punchline right here. Oh, I'm so glad you did that. That's hilarious. We see a cop pizza party, too, which I really enjoy. They're like, like, the problem with this movie is that it's two hours. It's overstaying its welcome, as we are doing right now. But it's also throwing in the shit, like just there are the the their their their thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thin, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, two hours. It's overstaying its welcome as we are doing right now. But it's also throwing in the shit like just there are lines where cops are talking about how much pizza they can eat like or like who's paid for it and just like just shut up.
Starting point is 00:50:34 And some guy off screen just gone, get back to work it's not a pizza party. Yeah, what did you do? So eventually through like another hour of this movie, we eventually end up at this party, which is a party for four people at John Milton's house. Huge banner, huge banner for four people. Huge Happy Birthday Roman banner. It was supposed to be the rap party for the, I guess they stopped on the last day of shooting. That does not seem right. No. Oh, also there was a whole thing where,
Starting point is 00:51:09 like Sidney went into the old, to the set, which is the town she grew up in, in a set. And there's like a really good cat and mouse with her thinne, and the teolour, and tooom................ they, they, toe, toe, they, toe, they, they. toe, they. they. toe, they. they. toe, toe, toe, toe, too, tooome, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, toe, toe, toe, toe, too................. Soe, toe, toe, too. And, toe, toe, toe, toe, toe. And, toe. And, they. And, they. And, they. they. they. they. too. too. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. And, they when she opened the stage door and stepped out onto like the front lawn of her house Yeah, it was really eerie. I really like that a lot. I thought that was a nice touch I was really bum when she opened that one that was on the second floor and there's a bed and she just didn't dive right on the fucking bed and run. Yeah, like that would have been so good. You would have been so good. You. that. th. th. th. th. th. that. th. th. that. that. th. th. th. th. that. th. th. th. that. that. th. that. th. th. that. that. th. th. th. that th. th. th. th. th. th. that that that that that that that that th. that th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thr. thr. the the thr. the the the the the the the the the the the the the throo. thro. the the movies, no one can actually try to get away from the killer. And there's this thing happening where she keeps seeing her mom in a body bag with blood all over it. And I can't tell if that's if they genuinely thought that would be spooky or if that's supposed to be a joke. I thought it was supposed to be like an homage to like Michael Myers in the like sheet in the O. Oh O G O G O G O G O G O G O G O G. th. th. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. Like, like, like, like, like, like, like, the OG Halloween like sort of thing or I don't know what the fuck it was just silly. It is so silly but it I just wonder if it was
Starting point is 00:52:10 intentionally silly you know. Yeah and much like everything in this movie they do it 50 times. Yeah and she's still doing that sing song inside this body bag it's like just so bananas. So at the party, they're like trying to figure out who's the killer. Gail and Dewey eventually show up because they got a call from fake Sydney that she's at this party. And Jennifer. Jennifer's with them too. She's just riding around in the backseat with them. It's so... Oh, and the killer calls Sydney again as like, hey, come to this party, because why not? I'm trying to kill you. Why shouldn't I have 2,000 people at this party?
Starting point is 00:52:51 It is extremely balsy to try to kill like four or five people in a room with a knife, you know? Sure. But I feel like that is every one of these, doesn't that happens, that happens, that happens, that happens, that happens, that happens, that happens, that happens, that happens, that happens, that happens, that happens, that happens, that happens, that happens, that happens, that happens, that happens, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, the, the, they. they. they. they. their, their, the, to, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, they. And, they. And, they. And, they. I. I. I, they. I's, they. I's, to. to. too, too, too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. to. to. to. tothat that happens in the the next movie we're like yeah she's trying to kill Sydney she's killing her boyfriend she's killing like come on everybody calm down yeah I agree calm down he works the killer works his way through everybody at the party gets down to our mainstays Gail Dewey and uh Sydney are still alive yeah yeah I just want to point out that Gail, Dewey, and Sidney are still alive. Yeah. Yeah. I just want to point out that Gail and Dewey split up like four or five times?
Starting point is 00:53:32 Why? This is literally the third time you've done this. Why do you keep doing it? Why do they stick together with solvent? Yeah, I guess so. Oh, they also find the voice recorder thing, or the voice changer thing, and they immediately figure out how it works, and then it's fully loaded with everyone's voices. Dewey, they have all our voices.
Starting point is 00:53:53 Oh, my God. With the names written on the back of it? I just imagine like pieces of masking tape written on with Sharpie like Dewey. I wanted him to have a label maker where he was just just the th. th. th. th. th. to to to to to to to to to to the to to to to to the to to the to to to the to the to to th. to to to to to to to to to to the the the to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I thi thi thi thi the thi thi. I thi thi the. try try try try try try try try try try try to try to to to to to to to it. Gail, Jennifer. I wanted him to have a label maker where he was just printing him out and sticking him on it. I like the idea of buying a label like using this as your excuse to buy a label maker but then also just like labeling everything in your house. So we find out that the killer is Roman. Roman is secretly Sidney's half-brother that by the logic of this movie is the product of her being assaulted? Yeah. And she has given him up and wants nothing to do with him. So therefore he convinced
Starting point is 00:54:41 Skeet and Scooby to kill everybody in the first movie. That made no fucking sense. None at all. Yeah. And now he's going to kill Sidney because she had mommy's love and he didn't. So therefore he's got to kill her. Yeah. It's such a dumb, it's such a dumb resolution.
Starting point is 00:55:06 It's so disappointing because I feel like if this movie had stuck the landing, it would be so much more watchable. Yeah, for sure. But I don't know how they could have. Like what would be the acceptable? I don't know. If it was Sydney the whole time? I don't know. I don't know because, you know, in Jamie Kennedy's the video. thi thi thi thie thie. thie's thi thie's thie's thi's thi's thi's thi's thi's thi's thi's thi, you thi, you thi, you thi, you thi, you thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, because, because, thi, because, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, the whole time? I don't know. I don't know because, you know, in Jamie Kennedy's video about trilogies, he's talking about
Starting point is 00:55:30 how it has to go back to the beginning and do the background story. So I almost kind of like the idea of like, because the killer's been leaving photos of Maureen at crime scenes. I almost kind of like that as like a, you know, figure out why this all happened in the first place. Right. But just the idea, the way it's pulled off is just so disappointing. Yeah, it doesn't, there's no, yeah, it just doesn't like have any emotional resonance whatsoever. And I think it's supposed to, maybe not, I don't know. I think I think these movies are supposed to be better than they think like than they were initially setting out them to be. Like I think they're just like no, we're just
Starting point is 00:56:08 making another one of these fucking movies. Go, go, go, go, go. There's like a lot of very competent acting in this movie. There's a lot of very good effects. Like it was a big budget movie. Oh sure. I don't I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th thi thi thi thi they're they're just they're just they're just like they're just like they're just like, I they're just they're just they're just they're just they're just they're just they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they they're they're they're they they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're th. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I the. I thi. I the. I thi. I thi. I thi. I they're just like. I they're just like. I they're the... I don't know, it's just... why? Why? It will come as a surprise of no one that they defeat Roman by stupid Dewey finally figuring out to shoot him in the head after someone tells him to. You're a cop, Dewey. You went to the Academy. Diddy? I think he got his license out of a cracker jackbox. Deputy Dewey. I just want to skip ahead to the ending. So he's dead. Isn't this not the ending? We see like the Coda on the film is Sydney Walking Cherokee going back to the house.
Starting point is 00:56:57 And she's leaving all the gates open. She's leaving the door open. She doesn't need to lock herself in anymore. And Dewey proposes to Gail in that very sweet scene where he's trying to get her to sign his book, or her book. It is a very sweet scene. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It really is. Like, it's genuinely touching.
Starting point is 00:57:20 And so we see that they're having a movie party. And Dr. McDreemie is there, because now him and Sidney. Is he fucking? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. He's a lot older than her. Is he? Sydney's supposed to be like 21 of this movie. Yeah, but like, I-R-L, she's like 43. She looks great. And I just, the thing that I got most excited about
Starting point is 00:57:45 is when the front door swings open and she doesn't run to close it, on the porch is some sunbrewed iced tea. And I was like, hell yeah. I got so excited. That's about the mercy. So here's the difference between you and me. And I feel like this really sums us up in a nutshell, is you like looked at that door and you were like, wow, look at that relaxing
Starting point is 00:58:09 sun-brewed iced tea. I'd love to be on that porch sitting in. And I was like, Sidney, close your fucking door, you're going to get bugs, the dog's going to get out. Like I get it, you're free now, but now, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, the thi, the the thi, the thi, thi, thi, thi, th. th. th. th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, the th, the the the the the th, the th, th, th, th. thi, thi, thi, thr, thr. thr. throoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. And, the, the the for your life. And therein is the fundamental difference between you and me. I have a stick up my ass. And I just love iced tea. Just love relaxing. You're a man who loves leisure though.
Starting point is 00:58:37 I'm a chill-ass motherfucker. You're a chill-ass motherfucker. No one has ever described me as chill in my life. Can you be chill and extremely anxiety-ridden? Because I'm pulling that off. I'm doing it. You are! You are doing it! Katie, we gotta hurry up. Rate this thing! Oh, uh, six and a half. It's fine.
Starting point is 00:58:59 It could be worse. Oh, yeah. I mean, if you want worse, watch four. Yeah, I am actually shocked at, obviously each of these movies gets worse as it goes along. Yeah, but I am shocked at the drop-off from three to four. That was just so bad. I would give it a six. Yeah, yeah, you could do worse watching this. The Star Power alone is great. Seeing Carrie Fisher, Parker Posey. Roger Corman? Lance said it was the last one you said? Roger Corman? Roger Corman, star power, gotcha.
Starting point is 00:59:31 So, you know, Alan, this was the result of a Twitter poll where we let people choose between Scream 3 and Friday the 13th part 6. But despite them, we did this anyway, were they right? Yeah, Friday the 13th part 6 is a better movie than this, for sure. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, you guys were right. Thanks for your input. No, nobody's listened to you more often.
Starting point is 00:59:58 Nobody stared at a crotch while riding a car. Oh God, that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's thi thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. Starting point is 01:00:35 If you're on T public looking at a wear-off ambulance gear, search burn underscore two underscore build. That's Justin Gray. He put up a t-shirt that if you like role-playing games and weed, this t-shirt is for you. I do. It's an adorable bong that says critical hit and smoke above it and it's a polyhedral dye bong with a smiley face. I am going to buy that shirt for two people in my life right now as soon as we hang up. I bought one and I only like one of those things. Nice.
