Werewolf Ambulance: A Horror Movie Comedy Podcast - Episode 292- Green Room (2015)

Episode Date: August 3, 2020

In this week's edition of "look Ma, I'm outside!" we are back on the porch for the 2017 nazi jagoff horror thriller "Green Room." Special topics for your consideration include: loving Patrick Stewart ...whether or not he's trying on a southern accent, extremely well-placed gore, a cavalcade of punk rock memories, and dogs: inherently frightening but also owners of cute wiggly lil butts.   Into seeing Nazis get what they have coming to them? You might enjoy Episode 92- "Dead Snow." Also I am like 90% sure that Episode 164- "Puppet Master" had *something* to do with Nazis but honestly can't be bothered to look up what it was.  Hey, we have a subreddit! We're embracing it! Starting point is 00:00:46 And I have an alternate title for this movie. What is it? It should have been called Nah. Because as soon as they drive into the parking lot with all those neo-nazis, they should have been like, nah. Not worth $350. 15 minutes short of them showing up, I'm oh no, no, no, no, no, no, no. You know, but no. No.
Starting point is 00:01:07 There's no punk band, unless they're like a bunch of 14-year-old. Nobody, nobody. Nobody. No, because their moms would have driven them there and they would be like, no, ha ha ha. But beyond that? And somehow not getting into a fight with the entire crowd. I mean I thought that's what it was going to be. I'd never seen this movie before today.
Starting point is 00:01:31 So I thought that that's what was going to happen. Yeah. But that's not what happens. No. Because the crowd eventually seems to like them. They're just like, that's.. Yeah. T that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's th. They're just like. They're just like. Yeah. Yeah. They're just like. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. that's. that's. Yeah. Yeah. that's. that's. that's th. They're that's that's that's their. their. their. their. their. their. I their. I their. I their. I their. I their. I their. I their. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I that's that's that's that's th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thee. th. I th. I the. I the. I that's th. We don't like that you don't like that we're Nazis, but like I really like that track. Good set man. Katie and I as you know have punk rock history. I would... Not with each other, separate punk rock histories I would say. I mean you've booed me, you booed me before we were friends. Did you guys know that? I'm sure I've told that before Alan and his friends booing me in like 22 at a DIY venue. Yeah. Yeah.. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to, th. to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, th. I' to, to, th. th. that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that. K. K. K. K. K. K. K. K. K. K. K. K. K. K. K. K. K. to to to to to to th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I, th. I, th. I, th. I, th. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I that that thi. I that that that that thi. I thi. thi. K. K. I thi.'m sure I've told that before. Alan and his friends booing me in my 22 at a DIY venue. Yeah, they're not all that friendly to women, huh? Mm-hmm. You can get that if you're embarrassed. Not at all. I'd have to go back and edit it out on the best episodes. Yeah. I'll never get over it. Never for, I'm so petty. It's one of the beautiful cornerstones of our relationship. But I have played shows where Nazis have shown up. And it has gone differently. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:30 Well, yeah, I've like stopped shows and been like, get the fuck out of here. You have to leave right now or else. Or else? Or else? Yeah, well, what are you going to do? You're going to be like, this guy over here will take you. I always just count on being six foot two and three hundred pounds of people going, well I guess not. Yeah, I guess I don't want to do that. I guess it is a deterrent to any sort of physical altercation. And then just going if you will only knew. I'm fully made of tears.
Starting point is 00:02:56 I do really hate Nazis. Oh man. You know what my punk history, maybe it was just the time that I came up in. I think it was probably the time in the scene, but like, I did not know any Nazis. That's crazy. I'm never known a Nazi, actually. I grew up in a scene where people I was friends with became Nazis. How does that happen? I'm so interested in why people become radicalized, you know? It's usually out of two very powerful feelings. tha tha tha. tha. tha. thiiiiiiiii. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, but, but I thi, but I thi, but I thi, but I thi, but I thi, but I thi, but I thi, but I thi, but I thi, but I thi, but I, but I, but I thi, I I I I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thiiiiiii. I thii. I thi. I thi. I thi. I did thi,s in my experience, loneliness and fear. Boy, yeah, those are two very powerful feelings. As someone who dabbled in the shady side of life, as a young kid I was super lonely and fat and scared. I got in with some people who were like white supremacist dudes when I was like 15.
Starting point is 00:03:40 Oh man. Yeah, and a sense of belonging. A sense of belonging and like it verified a bunch of bullshit I was raised on. Oh, yeah So yeah, well Nazi punks fuck off for sure. Yeah, yeah if you're a Nazi I listen to this don't don't I mean how could you be? Self-loathing Nazis. Yeah, so this is a movie about a four-piece band called the Ain't Rights, or just ain't right? I think? I think? I think it's ain't rights? Self? Yeah? Self? Self? Self? Self? Self? Self? Self? Self? Self? Self? Self? Self? Self? Self? Self? Self? Self? Self? Self? Self? Self? Self? Self. Self? Self. Self. Self. Self. Self. Self. Self. Self. Self. Self. Self. Self. Self. Self. Self. Self. Self. Self. Self. Self. Self. Self-a? Yeah. Self. Self-s. Self-s. Self-s. Self-s. Self-s. Self-a. Self-a. Self-a. Self-a. Self-a. Self. Self. Self. Self. Self. Self. Self. Self. Self. Self. Self. Self. Self. Self. Self. Self. Self. Self. the? Yeah. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the their? Yeah. their? Yeah. their? Yeah. their? Yeah. the the the the the the the the the the the the the -piece band, punk band called the Ain't Rites, or just Ain't Right? I think it's Ain't Rights. Ain't rights, that's right. Which is a pretty decent name for your fake punk band? I think so, yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:14 How did you feel about almost half of the cast of this movie being British? As soon as I saw Joe Cole, as soon as I laid eyes on Joe Cole, I was like, what is happening? Because he is, not only does he have a very thick accent, he has a very British face. Which one is Joe Cole? Joe Cole's the guy from Piki Blinders, he was Riece in this film, the Jiu-Jitsu guy. Oh, the drummer, yeah, yeah, yeah. Did you watch Piki Binders? He's the younger brother? Okay. Oh, wow. Oh, wow. the thee. the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the th. th. th. th. th. the th. th. th. th. the th. th. the the th. the the th. th. thi. th. th. th is the the the the the the th. He's is th. He's is th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's thi. He's thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. He's th. He's thi. thi. He just has that British face, like that nose and the sort of sunky, that lidded eyes. There's no way. He looks like a midfielder. Exactly. He looks like he plays for West Ham.
Starting point is 00:04:52 Yeah. Yeah. Not that joke. that. . I was like, is he going to be American? And I think for a brief moment he was, and then he was like, fuck it. He was in that realm of southern accent that might be British accent. Like, I'm not, I'm unclear on whether he was just being himself or whether he was doing an accent. I think he was definitely trying to be as Southern American as he could, so he just spoke real quietly. Yeah, he was very quiet.
Starting point is 00:05:26 We got to take care of this situation. Oh my God, Darcy. I mean you got Imaging Poots. I don't know her. Oh, I didn't mean that to sound like Mariah Carey and Jalo. I'm trying to think of things that imaging poots. I've been seen her in a bunch of movies, but I think it might be because Missy likes romcoms. Oh, she's a romcom. I think so. Oh.
Starting point is 00:05:47 She kind of has that face, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Those big eyes. I am like so blown away by her last name being poots and her just being like, fuck it. That's my name. Yeah. I'm boots. Poots. easy to have a last name like that when you're very, very beautiful. People come at you a lot less. You know? Having had a last name that sounds a lot like a slang for man's genitals and not
Starting point is 00:06:11 being a very, very attractive person, I can say it's not that cool. Yeah. Yeah. Change my name when I got married. Not for feminism, for having a better last name. But there are a ton of British people in this cast and I was just like, you couldn't find American people? I'm certain they could find American people. But they just let them be British or something too. Why are we doing this? Why are we pretending? No one can yell at this movie? No, no, and there are a lot of scenes which require yelling. I mean there are a lot of them, like Eric Edelstein, the Big Justin is American and Macon Blair, who I love is American. That guy, Big Justin, I feel like has been in one episode of every television show you've ever watched. Like he's in, you're like, oh, Parks and Rec, there he is. There's, th. There's, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. th. th. th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. th. th. th. Yeah, th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the the. the. the the the the the the the the the the the the the Rec there he is like oh Brooklyn 99 there he is maybe it's just NBC comedies I don't know he's so
Starting point is 00:07:06 good in this movie he is yeah and who you like a Macon Blair that's a guy from murder party right yes yeah he's in all of Jeremy Sonnier's movies sonie that's what I'm gonna go okay I practiced it before I came over so I to make sure I got it in at least once. He directed Blue Ruin Murder Party, Hold the Dark, this movie. I got a re-watch murder party. That was so fun. It really is. Yeah. Blue Ruin is phenomenal about like getting revenge for your family being murdered. Oh boy. But being like a regular dude doing it. Oh, okay. So it's like the ineptness of revenge films. Interesting. And it starts off at the boardwalk in Rehoboth, Delaware,
Starting point is 00:07:50 and I got mad pumped. I love the boardwalk in Rehoboth, Delaware. You can ride the haunted mansion, get your picture taken. Like the opening shot pans over dollies. Oh, yeah. What the fuck? Because you're a Delawareian, a word I'm using as much as I can these days. I appreciate that a Pennsylvania is really willing to do that. Delawarian.
Starting point is 00:08:12 It sounds like a poem to me. I really like it. Anyway, there's this movie. So this punk band is out on tour. Their tour is going to shit. Been there. And their. And their, their, their, their, their tour is going to shit, been there. And they're, have you ever played like real weird places, like a Mexican restaurant, you were the only band playing? No, but I have been to shows at a pizza place
Starting point is 00:08:34 in downtown Butler Butler in the middle of the day. Sure. So it's, I feel, I understand it. We were on tour, my old band, Virginia Blacklung. And the guy who set up the tour is like, oh, space fell through, but my friend's garage is willing to let you guys play. Like an auto body garage? Mm-hmm. You're the band. You're the one band.
Starting point is 00:08:54 So people are going to come and see you. Mm-hmm. Another show after we played. Oh. Thanks. Was it fun? The party? Oh, we didn't stay. Ah, too bad. But then we like played like people's kitchens in like Johnson City, Kentucky or whatever and it was fucking amazing. Yeah. But yeah, they played this like shitty Mexican restaurant because the space falls through for Tad the radio guy. I like that he tell them they'll get th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi th. thi. thi. thi. they. they. their their they. thi. their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. to to to the. to to say say. the. to. to. th. to. th. their. their. their their their their their their their their the. the space falls through for Tad, the radio guy. I like that he tells him they'll get lunch, which you know it's going to be bad when you're getting lunch, you know? I also like the Tad says, scene is dead, because everybody always says that everywhere all the time and I felt like that was just such a knowing little wink, you know? For sure. Yeah. Oh, so Tad sets them up with a show. Portland, which if you were in the punk scene at all,
Starting point is 00:09:45 knew that there are a lot of white power skinheads outside of Portland. And he's like, yeah, it's boots and braces. And this is after Reese has like choked him up against a wall for not paying them enough money. Yeah, that guy's wild. Yeah, the loose cannon. Sure. Dr. the loose can't throwing. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. throw. throw. throw. throw. throw. throw. throw. throw. throw. throw. throw. throw. tho. tho. tho. tho. the. the. the. th. th. th. th. th. th. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. th. their. their. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. tho. tho. tho. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. the the the to. the the tho. I'm married to one who is incredibly mild mannered. I can never picture Rob throwing somebody against the wall. I've never even seen him like throw a bag of chips in anger, you know, like you do sometimes. Oh! It's daylight!
Starting point is 00:10:16 It's daylight! Suddenly it's Mad Max outside of my house. Like, we were sitting out here for 40 minutes talking before we started recording and it was pretty quiet. And then all of a sudden it was just like, you hit the button and everyone was like, it's like I'd started like kick-start my heart and everyone just went nuts. Jesus! Oh, the dogs are here. Maybe we won't do this year around.
Starting point is 00:10:47 So he sets them up with the show outside of Portland and they're driving down there. We forgot about the opening scene of them having crashed in a cornfield and run out of gas. Yeah, they like didn't even care. They just go and siphon some gas. Yeah. The fuck. Nobody's that punk. Nobody is that punk. No, you're right. I just like, do they even make siphons anymore?
Starting point is 00:11:09 I thought that they had done something to gas tanks where you couldn't do that anymore. Maybe just older cars you could or something. But it seems like thinks that siphoning is probably still a thing. How old is Jeremy Sa'i? I don't know, he's got to be a around your age, yeah. I would guess. So they drive down to the show and when they get to the show, the first thing you see is a the first the first the first th is is is is a the is a the is a the is a large the the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, because the, the, because the, because it the, because it the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the the the theeeeeeeeeean, thean, thean, thean, thean, thean, thean, thean, thean, thean, theething you see is a large black automobile with white power written down the side of it. Just keep driving. You just oh no this is bad idea. Just just turn around and go home. There's got to be a part of you that's just like oh I'm gonna get my ass kicked at this show. Right! This
Starting point is 00:11:57 isn't for me. Yeah. They don't think that. They go in they're like well we'll just play and then we'll antagonize them. Yeah. Because even though they're right I would not antagonize those people. You know what I mean? I have a strong feeling on not antagonizing Nazis because you know they're wild. They kill you. Oh man I wish you would talk to 20 year old me about that. What would you have said? Oh get right in the fucking face face? Yeah okay. Well well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I'm. they. they. they. they. I'm. I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm a they. I'm a they're. I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm I'm. I'm I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I. I I I I I. I I. I I. I. I I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I'm. I'm. I'm a. I'm a. I'm a. I'm a the. I'm a th. I'm a th. I'm a th. I'm a strong. I'm a strong. I'm a strong. I'm a strong. I'm a strong. I'm a strong. I'm a th. I'm a th. I'm a the. I'm a mother. And it's that disconcerting thing of the nice Nazis, like making Blairs, what is it, Gabe, Gabe, yeah. And Big Justin even are both like super accommodating and being like, oh you just put your gear in here, you can't block the fire, fire escape, all this stuff and it's like, you're going to get on, you're going to be hanging out here. Right. You're going to get the shit kicked out of it. Right. Because the entire crowd is Nazi
Starting point is 00:12:48 skinheads. That's a fucking nightmare. It's a straight up. Yeah. Yeah. So Missy and I were talking about this because we watched it together. And she's like, into the basement when the serial killer's in your house. Yeah, no, yeah. This is the thing no one would ever do, because this movie would be 15 minutes long and be called Nah, fuck that. Right, yeah, it's interesting because they don't, they set it up as I'm not having enough money
Starting point is 00:13:16 to get home. They'll just siphon some gas, but they'll just, they. I, their, they'll just, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, tho, thi. thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, tho, they', they'. Yeah, their, thi, thi, thi, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah done it once, so just go home. And $350 does not seem like enough money for these people to be like, well we have to risk our like our well-being for it. And you've got a cell phone and obviously time, right? You can set up other shows. Right. That can happen. Yeah. And they make a big deal of them not being like on social media or anything, but like, oh, right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. And I thi. th. And th. And th. And th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, thi. And, thi. And, thi. And, th. And, th. And, thi. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And they make a big deal of them not being like on social media or anything, but like, oh, I don't know. I don't know. So I think that was like the horror movie troops of this, as you just had to accept that they live in a world where this could happen. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:55 Yeah. I really like the thing of them when they play the the the they play, the the they play, the the the the the the the the their, the, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the,'s way to greet someone of when he greets Tad's cousin, Daniel just like immediately puts his arm up against that dude's throat too? No, Daniel does it to him. Oh, is that what? Daniel throws it to him. Oh, is that? He's like, hey, are you. the thing, a lot of these men were interchangeable to me except
Starting point is 00:14:27 for Anton Yelchen. A bunch of skinheads all look the same. Well I'm telling you about all the men in this movie who look the same, which is most of them. Yelchin? Is that his name? Boy. Boy, is he? Boy. He's he. I don't know that. He's so handsome to die. Uh, yeah, yeah, for sure. And he died in a really shitty way. What's that? He got pinned by his car. Fuck! He got out to like open a garage door or get the mail or something and his car was in gear and pinned him and killed him. Well now I'm terrible. Yeah, now I'm terrible. I'm sorry. Yeah, I figured you knew that because it was like it was like big, a big to do a couple years ago when he passed. I don't follow celebrity gossip. Well it's just, it's Star Trek related. Sure, it's true. I'm not a big Star Trek fan honestly. I watch Next Generation, that's it. People are always like, do you see that episode that episode that episode that episode that episode that episode that episode that episode that episode that episode that that that the episode that the episode the episode th. You've been talking to Jim Robinson? Because he's gone deep. Deep into Deep Space 9? I think he's watched every
Starting point is 00:15:33 Star Trek. Do you think Jim Robinson wants you saying this on our podcast that thousands of people listen? It's literally one of like the 43 things that he talks about. But I like the thing where they go into Nazi punks fuck off and then it just turns into like this like slow methodical classical music playing over top them playing and people like getting into the band. Yeah. And I thought that was like super artsy and really cool looking. Definitely. This film is made beautifully. Yeah. Every shot the, somenier is a phenomenal filmmaker. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:09 Hold the Dark, I don't even know if it's about anything, but it is beautiful to behold. Really? Not just because it has a scars guard in it, but. Which one? The real hot one. The tall guy? You think he's hot? Alexander's Carsgard? Yeah. Yeah. Ew. He's like historically hot. the the guy who was Pennywise? No, no, not that one. Although isn't he supposed to be real hot dude? I don't know what's his name?
Starting point is 00:16:33 The other one? And then there's the guy who plays Flokie on Vikings, there's another Scarsgard. Are they all relate? Are they all still? I the the the tholenshauauauauauauauauauauauauauau. I are all related. I are all related. I are all related. I are all related. I their thololololollain. I's th. Hold on. Let's just figure out the Scars Gard family tree real quick here. Oh, Alexander Scar's Gar's Gard. I don't know you, but you are, yes, you are hot. You never watched, uh, was it? Uh, was, kill something? Uh, was kill something? Uh, was, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, was, uh, uh, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, was, was, was, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, th. the, the, the, the, the. the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the. the. the. the. I haven't. Generation Kill? No. Look, I don't know him. You never watched a big little lies? No. Stop it. Bill Scarsgard is Pennywise. He's the one with the luscious lips.
Starting point is 00:17:14 My God, yes, he does have luscious lips. But he is not for me. No. He was also in that terrible show, Hemlock Grove. I got like 10 episodes into that and I was like, why am I? Exactly. What am I doing? Yes, they are all still in Scars Gards kids. Oh, nice. And then there's another one, I can't remember.
Starting point is 00:17:33 He's Gustav, uh-huh. And he plays floky on Vikings and Merlin recognize this guy he's good looking to. There's several more. There's Walter, Aisha, and Sam. Do you think Alexander? Oh man, Sam, no. They start to look like copies made of copies, you know. Scars Gullard, multiplicity. I love that movie. Multiplicity. Oh yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:07 I don't think I've ever seen it. Really? We'll do it for the podcast sometime. Michael Keaton's a treasure. Oh, always. Always. Um, okay, so. So they play this beautiful set to classical music and then they go back and all their gear
Starting point is 00:18:24 and shit is in the hallway and the Nazis are like you got to go yeah get your shit and go and they're not being dicks just like yeah we had to clean out the green room you got to go yeah they basically say it's for another band the house band yeah cow catcher does that mean something it's the thing that's on the front of a train train train train train train train train train train train train train thrain th th th th th thr thr thr thr thr thr thr thr thrown thrown thrown thr- thr- thin thin thi that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that that that that that that that that th th th th th thin th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th thin thin thin thin thin thin thin thin thin the the the the the the the the thi thi thi thi thi thi thi that's that's that's that's that's thi thi thi thrain to push cows off the track. Oh, good God. Well, not too bad. Did you say not too bad? Nazi band. We're still kind of far away from one another. We're closer this week.
Starting point is 00:18:53 Alan is like inching towards me. But Anton Yelchen's character is named, Pat. The band's names are all like Pat. Sam, Reese, and I think Tiger. What's your name? Fucking Tiger. And Sam is an alia shock-kott of Arrest of Development Fame. Yes. And I think she is wonderful. She's always great.
Starting point is 00:19:24 But I feel like she didn't get- I feel like she was underused in this movie. And I was also shocked she didn't make it to the end. I just assumed she would. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I was also shocked that she was the bass player. I like that she was the guitar player. Strong agree. Yeah. As a female. As a female bass player. But like, no, you'd you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you, you you, you you, you you, you th, you th, you th, you th. No, you th. No, you th. No, you'd th. And it felt like a thing where like they might have been playing their instruments to do this. Like it kind of felt like, you know, that level of punk rock you could probably do your own thing and like pull it off pretty well. Sure. And they were all like, they were all their toy. She was like, they were the music. She was a musician. Is she was. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. She was. She was. She was. She was. She was. She was. She was. She was. She was. She was. She was. She was. She was. And Pat was like, I don't want to do it, and she's like, do it or I'll tell them you're a Jew. Yeah, yeah. And I was like, damn, but that is something you say to your friend because you're fucked up.
Starting point is 00:20:14 You and your friends are fucked up. green room she yells at Amber she just goes fuck off Ilsa! That really made me laugh. Pat remembers that they left their cell phone and charger in the green room and he has to run back in to get it. Right. This all could have just if he had just kept going yeah just forgot that phone or just knocked. Yeah so he runs back in and there is a dead skinhead woman on the to the thi. In her head. In her head. Yeah I feel like like th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. It's a fun time. Is it? I think so. Yeah, we did it. Yeah, we're fun. I miss Simba.
Starting point is 00:21:08 Hi Simba, if you're listening. Oh, yeah. He's Sultana. That place? New Orleans. Yeah. And here you just listen to us talk about mutual friends. Uh, we've definitely played D&D with. Yeah. Excuse you, that was the Warhammer RPG.
Starting point is 00:21:26 Oh, he runs back in the room, woman is on the ground, having been stabbed in the head, other skinheads are in the room, and it's just like, fuck. Yeah. It's this like, so, like, cut the air with a knife tension, like, and so they all just get shoved back into the green room yeah it's a it's a fucking nightmare yeah this is a fucking nightmare for sure like once I think I've told this story on the podcast before but once at a show in New York the house we were supposed to stay in a guy who lived there didn't want us to be there anymore and pulled a sword on they some to they some and they's to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to they so. they so. they so. they. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah...................................................... Yeah..... Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah... Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the. the. Yeah. the. the. I. th. th. th. th. I. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th I still, like I was so fucking useless in the situation.
Starting point is 00:22:05 I just flipped out and was like, oh, they didn't go! Like, they are like, they're like making plans and getting devices. I just lost it. Yeah. I had a panic attack. Understandably. Well, no, you got to pull it together. I don't think you do, because it doesn't turn turn turn turn turn turn turn turn you turn you turn you turn, because it doesn't turn turn, turn, because it doesn't turn, because it doesn't turn, turn, turn, tu, you, because it doesn't tu, tu, to to to to to to to to to to to, because, because it, to to to to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, th......... th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. they. they. they they're, like, like, like, like, like, they're, like, like, like, they're, like, like, like, like, they're, like, true. He wanted us out though.
Starting point is 00:22:26 And that was weird. Ugh. Oh, I don't miss staying at random people's houses. No. No, it's also if you're staying in a random person's house and they have a bunch of weapons, ask yourself why. It's true. That's true.
Starting point is 00:22:38 Ask yourself if you cannot afford a motel. Because you can. You guys can put your money together. It's fine. It was literally like $50. Yeah. Yeah. Especially back then. Back in the day. And in New York. Small tough New York. Yeah. So this is when this movie becomes like, at least for me, I stopped being like, I don't know if this would happen. I know. How do you get out of this? Right. How do you survive this? You're totally. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. the. the. th. the. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. th. I. th. th. I th. th. I th. I th. I th. th. I the. I the. th get out of this? Right, you're totally immersed in it, right? Yeah, yeah. So they're negotiating with the people who have, the, like, which is Patrick Stewart. Yeah. What's the guy's name, Gabe? Making Blair.
Starting point is 00:23:14 And another guy maybe? I don't know. Oh, the German guy, the guy was speaking German to the dogs. Oh yeah, what the fuck is that dude? Clark. Because I thought, why not just give him a German name? His name's Clark. Because of course Nazis are going to be way into their fucking teaching their dogs to talk German. Ugh. Teaching their dogs to talk German. Yeah, their dogs are talking.
Starting point is 00:23:39 Spraganszy pup. I'm a Patrick Stewart pulls off menacing very well at this. Did you think so? I had a tough time with him being menacing honestly. Maybe just because I watch him read sonnets on videos on Twitter. For sure. And I just cannot. I know you have to separate people from their art, but I just couldn't.
Starting point is 00:24:02 I was like, you're not gonna, it's okay. It's okay. You're still reeling from the social media blitz of him and Ian McKellan hanging out all the time and wearing hats. Totally, and the time he like fostered a dog and was like, have you met this magical creature? Although this movie was a great reminder of why dogs are scary. It's not dogs that are scary. It's not dogs that are scary, it's people. That apple could rip your throw it out if she chose to. If she chose to. But she would absolutely never choose to do that. The worst thing she's gonna do is hump my leg. She's very stupid. She might like look at you and suddenly see like a tea bone steak and just be like, she's not a Bugs buddy cartoon. We're not on a desert island together. It's all I'm saying. Dogs are scary.
Starting point is 00:24:48 Having two ridiculously dopey loving dogs in my life, I'm... But I agree, like strange dogs. The other day I was driving into work and there was a mastiff walking out of the street by itself and I was like, what is this? Let this pony out. We're not at this stage of Armageddon. When the dog pon dog dog dog dog dog dog dog dog dog dog dog dog dog pon pon pon stage of Armageddon. When the dog ponies take the streets. But I really liked his, like the whole thing, I'm like, I'm gonna need that gun. I'm gonna need you to put that gun out here. Yeah. And then the most terrifying thing on earth
Starting point is 00:25:16 happens. What happens to his arm? I believe machetes. Oh fuck. Yeah, they start knife attacking his arm because he stupidly puts his fucking arm through the door. Just toss the gun. Yeah, you don't need to do that to toss something. You can just go, whoop. And when his arm comes back inside, and I was reading something from Jeremy. Sonja, who was talking about how like he wanted to be gratuitous violence, but he did not want to have it be the focal point. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He's. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. He. Yeah. He. He. He. He. He. He. So. He. So. So. So. So. So.. So................................................................. the.... the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. not want to like have it be the focal point he just wanted to give it like an air of realism. Yeah. And when you get a quick glimpse of his arm and his hand is just floppy. It's so mangled. It's so disgusting. And this happens back to back with Reese breaking Big Justin's arm and a Jiu-Jitzo? Jiu-Jitzo is what it's called. Hold and it just snaps and his elbow goes the the the to to the elbow like like to the elbow tho to the elbow the elbow tho tho tho tho the elbow tho to tho th th th th to the elbow the elbow to th th to to the to to to to to to the thu the the to to to to to to to their like their like their like their like their like their like th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the air the air the air the air the air the air the air the air the air the air the air the air the air the air the air the the the the the the the the the the theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeea theeeeea thea the the th's called, hold, and it just snaps and his elbow goes the wrong way, and it's just like these two quick arm traumas that just really make you like,
Starting point is 00:26:11 ah! We haven't talked about the elephant in the room. What's that? Imogene Poots is wig. I mean, let's talk about that Chelsea cut. They were like, mm-mm. Let's th let's th let's th. Let's th. Let's th. Let's th. Let's th. Let's th. Let's th. Let's th. Let's that's th. Let's that's th. Let's th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. theeeeeeeeeea. tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. the. the. the. the. were like, this is what punks girl likes, girls likes this punk's haircut. And she was like, mm-mm. You're not doing that to my head. No. It's a bet. I mean a Chelsea can be cute. That is not cute. She does not make a, it's just the wig is terrible. It's wet or something. It looks like it's made out of coconut husks. Yes, maybe that's what it is. Yeah, it's like crunchy and like... It's too stiff.
Starting point is 00:26:48 It's too stiff. You would never let that happen to your Chelsea. And I was like, could just do a tight pony. Tight pony would be fine for a Nazi girl. Would have been fine, yeah. It's so funny. It's so funny. So we learn that her friend Emily was going to leave, I guess. So you can't leave? You can't leave what?
Starting point is 00:27:14 The gang? The Nazi skinhead gang. You just can't go. That's a thing. Really? I mean, there are Nazi skinhead groups that are just gangs, basically. They're like the Hells Angels or the mob. Wow. That's a thing. That's a thing. that's a thing. Really? that-you're in. the. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the th. the th. the the the th. the the th. the th. th. the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the the the the the the the the the the the th. the the the th. the the th. the the thi. the the thi. the the thi. the thi. the thi. the thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th., like, there are Nazi skinhead groups that are just gangs, basically. They're like the Hells Angels or the mob. Wow. And once you're in, you're in for life. Wow. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:36 So at that point we also realized that, like, Darcy has an army of young men. Sure. What does the red laces indicate that they are, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, their, their, they're, their, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, their, their, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, their their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their. Like, like, like, red laces indicate that they are, what, like, officers? That they're blooded. They're willing to get like their hands dirty on stuff. I see, okay. Yeah. So for me, growing up, like their lace etiquette was a big thing for skinheads. Talk to me about that.
Starting point is 00:27:57 So if you're white barred laces meant you are white the white thcrossed, they're straight across bars on your combat boots. Oh. Red laces meant you were Nazi. Okay. And then there was all these other like green and blue and all these like, and if you wore black and white laces barred, you were sharp, you were a skinhead against racial prejudice. Okay. And so there were all these different things. So like it used to be like, I would be like I would be like, I would be all their their their their their their their their all their all their all their all their all their all their all their all their all their all their all their all their all their all th. th. th. th. th. their th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. their th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the th. th. the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. the. the the. the. the the the. the the thee. the. the. and you'd look down at dude's boots and be like you're cool you're not cool yeah yeah and even so much is like like the whole boots and braces thing like suspenders like suspenders down meant you weren't fighting but suspenders up meant you were what so there was like all these weird etiquette things so strange yeah and I think it's just that whole like boys have to make up all these dumb rules to do things. Yeah, like an army.
Starting point is 00:28:47 Make it like an army. You're a class of something. Of course. Of course. Of course. And that's where, skinhead culture came out of work in class culture. Sure. So it had nothing to shows where kids were suspenders to, but they were just scaw kids.
Starting point is 00:29:05 Yeah, for sure. You respected them. And now, like, lace etiquette isn't a thing. So I've been at punk shows in the past 10 years and dudes have walked in a white-barred laces and it's been like, yo, what the fuck? Like, I just like, I just like, I just like, I just like, I just like, I just like, I just like, I just like, I just like, I just like, I just like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, the the the the the the the th. Like, th. Like, th. Like, th. Like, th. La, th. Like, the th. Like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like like that. So like... But also like, take it back, right? Take back the laces? I guess so? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:29:29 I don't know. Just know that some old man might be giving you the stink guy in the corner. I mean, I literally don't think I know the difference between a white supremacist and a Nazi to make thing where you get your red laces and you're down with like, because he's like, we need the red laces. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And Macon Blair eventually gets a set of red laces. Right.
Starting point is 00:29:57 He seems ambivalent about it. I did think it was very funny or odd that he was like being being like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, thia, thia, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th and he had a Nazi tattoo on his throat. Yeah. It's like you you went all in before you were all in? Right, I mean it's like a, that's a big commitment. And he like, they trust him at the end too. He's like, I don't want to go to jail and they're like, okay well then I guess you're on our side. So strange. There's something so like, th't, I have like this love of Macon Blair that he just like has this face and I'm like, hey buddy? Yeah, what's up buddy? He's a bit of a puppy dog, isn't he? Yeah, yeah, yeah. He looks just so like lovable and like. It's worse tonight, right? Oh, a hundred percent. This was my nightmare. What would happen? So at some point the band decides that they're just going th they they they're just just just just just they're just just they're just they're just they're just just just they're just they're just they're just just going they're just going to just going to just going to just going to just going to just going to just going to just going to just going to to to to to to to to to to to th their th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. the band decides that they're just going to have to basically run for it. They're going to have to fight their way out and run for it. Which Reese is for from the jump, the Jujitsu guy.
Starting point is 00:30:53 He's like, I'm going right now and they're like, could you just wait like 10, fucking seconds? The rest of us don't know how to arm..... So. So. So? Yeah. So? Yeah. So? Yeah. So? Yeah. So? Yeah. the to. to. th. th. th. th. th. the to. th. th. th. to. th. th. th. the th. th. their, th. thi. thi. thi. their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, th. It's pretty good. Okay. Yeah. Self-defense mechanism. Sure, sure, sure. I think all ladies should know that stuff for sure. What do you think you don't need self-defense? Sexist. Then I took a self-defense class and they were like, I'm a took. I thiiiiii. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thrilled thrilled. I thrilled. Yeah, I thrilled. Yeah, I their a self-s a self-s a self-s a self-s a self-s a self-s a self-s a self-a, I their, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I their, yeah, I a self-a, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I a se. Yeah. I'm a se. I'm a se. I'm a se. Yeah, I their. I their, I their, I their, I their, I their, I their, I thrilled. I'm a sea. I'm a sea. I'm a sea. I'm a sea. I'm a sea. I'm a sea. I their sea. I their sea. I theto be ready to put your fingers in somebody's eyes you can't be like you can't hesitate just rip their fucking eyeball out of their head and I was like okay I'll think about that no think literally just stick there your fingers in their eyes just have to assume it's a life and death situation yeah yeah so like I was not expecting most of the band to die in this scene sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure sure to to to the to the to to to to the to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to their I their I their I their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their th the. I th thi thi th thi te to die in this scene. Sure. With like 50 minutes to go. Because what, Tiger gets his throat ripped out by a dog. It is so boring and so gross and so good.
Starting point is 00:31:50 Yeah. And Reese gets, he gets stabbed to death climbing out a window. But they don't stab him to death, they let him bleed out on the ground because as Sir Patrick Stewart says, let him bleed, later is better. He still sounded British to me. I gotta say. Because eventually I was. th, I was, I was, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I'm th, I'm th, I'm th, I'm th, I'm th, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, th, th, th, th, th, th, th. thi, to to to to to to to to to their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their, their their their their their their their their their their their their their, their their their their their their their their their their th. to to thi. thi. tie. tie. tie. tie. tie. tie. tie. tie. toge, toge, toge, to to to to to to to of death. Let him bleed later is better. He still sounded British to me, I gotta say. Because eventually I was like, I'm glad he's not trying to do an accent. But I was just surprised, oh and maybe gets attacked by a dog also. Yeah, which was a bummer. I was just really surprised that they killed off the mains that quickly. Sure. Yeah, because you had spent so much time with thi. the their their their. their. their. their. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. to to to to to to th. th. to th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the th. th. the the. the. to, to, to to to to toeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. to. the. the. th they killed off the mains that quickly. Sure. Yeah, because you had spent so much time with them up to this point. And then it's just poots and yelts and... And you don't really care about poots until the end.
Starting point is 00:32:32 And even then you don't kind of don't. Just like you don't care about the running, what's your favorite, what's your Desert Island band joke? Mm-mm. Yeah, this is this this this this is movie, but I don't think there's anything fun about it. No. But they were like, what if we just try to inject a little bit of fun with this? And then it ends on like a punchline and you're like, wait. I liked the little like cheeky thing of. So they're getting interviewed the beginning of the movie and tad the punk guys like what's your desert island band like misfits chromags Like whatever and and Pat's like I don't know and through the rest of the movies like I don't know But they revisit it right before everyone dies and Reese is like prince. Yeah and uh I can't remember what all your shock cat says. She's a Simon and Garfunnel. That's right, which is actually probably the right answer. And I liked imaging poots because she was like Madonna and Slayer. Yeah. I wrote that
Starting point is 00:33:32 damn. It's so funny. And I was like I could probably get behind that. Yeah. And the other dude's like still misfits. Yeah. Guy. True. True to the end. do not like hearing Jean-Luke Picard say the end word. Ooh, good, well, you're welcome, because you get it a few times. Several times. Several times. He is making, I guess, meth or, or no, heroin, I think. But they're poisoning it. Yeah. And he gives it to cow catcher, right. And says there's some there some some some some some some some some some some some some some some some some some some some some some some some some some some some bad bad bad bad bad bad bad says there's some bad heroin going around.
Starting point is 00:34:08 So dope, I think he calls it. He calls it the, yeah, and we're dope, yeah. And it's just like, ooh, Sir Pat. I don't want it. At least you know that it probably pained him to say it. Yeah. God, such a good dude. Yeah. And so that's like this weird subplot of where he poisons that band and keeps like making sure that the rest the skinheads don't do drugs because he's poisoning them all. Is he doing that to poison black people? Like to get it onto the streets basically? Is that like part of like what is his end game? Well Nazis usually have a real their thi. Oh, th. th. to to to say to say toe, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, the to, the to, the the the the the the the they think that like drug culture is ruining white culture. Whoa wait oh boy. It turns
Starting point is 00:34:51 out they're stupid. It turns out their ideas aren't good is that what you're trying to tell me? No? Oh God. I have a big note that just says Patrick Stewart saying the end word. Oh, look. So they keep sending the dogs in and the dogs to the the to to the the to the to to the to the to to the to to the the to the to to the the to to the to the to their their their their to to to their to their to to their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their wa their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their th. the. the. the. te. te. te. teux. teole. too. te. to. te. to. te. te. te. their their their their the just says Patrick Stewart saying the N-word. Oh, God. So they keep sending the dogs in, and the dogs keep getting sent back out whenever they have hear feedback. Which I was like, boy, they sure are fallible, this punk venue. I know you will definitely disagree with me, but those dogs are so fucking adorable. Eat a dick. When the one dog eventually runs out of the establishment all together
Starting point is 00:35:26 and just like fuck this and leaves. Yeah I did like it running down the road. It runs and it's got this cute little wiggly butt as it's gone down the road and I was like I want to snuggle you so bad I want to snuggle you dog look your big head. But then it goes up to its dead owner, spoiler for the end the tho. It's th. But th. But th. But th th th th th tho, thr, thi, thr, thi, thi, thr, I thr, I thr, I thin, I thin, I thin, I thin, I thin, I thin, I th th the, I thrown like, I the, I th the, I like, I like, I like, I like, I like, I like, I like, I like, I like, I like, I like, I like, I like, I like, I th, I th, I the, I the, I the, I the, I the, I the, I the, I the, I thin, I thin, I thin, I thin, I thin, I thin, I thin, I thin, I'm thin, like, like, I thin, like, like, like, I thin, like, like, like, like, I thin, like, like, like, like, like, like, I thin, like, I thin, I this movie, and just goes and lays his head on his arm and I was like, oh buddy. That his dead owner was a Nazi who was teaching him commands in German. I don't feel bad for the owner. I feel bad for the buddy. Fine.
Starting point is 00:35:54 But that talk only had like an hour to live anyway. I remember he says that. I was like, really, start the watch then, Clark. What did you inject it with? Yeah, right. Can I get like another hour and then another hour? Can I live forever on your injections, Clark? Isn't that the... Dave, you've never seen the Crank Film franchise, I assume? I have seen part of Crank, too, and that's it. Okay. Basically, the preface to those movies is that he has to constantly keep being rejuvenated to stay alive. Really? Yeah, they they they they they they the they they they they. they. they they. they. th an thi thi thi thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thine. th. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. the. the. theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Cla. C. C. C. C. thin.. Yeah, they take out his heart and replace it with a battery. I want to watch that. It's so stupid that it's enjoyable. We have to get our Patreon going. That's an action movie, yeah? Oh yeah. Oh yeah. One of them ends with him jumping out of a helicopter on fire and the second one begins with him. Don't spoil it for me.
Starting point is 00:36:48 It's Jason Statham? Oh yeah, yeah. Yeah, I'd look at that. Hunky, hunky Jason Stathom. Yeah, that's one ween, I might have to fight over, I guess. I get the scars guards. All of them? I saw his wiener and infamaniac. The movies scarred you for life. It really did. I think about it all the time. It really fucking did.
Starting point is 00:37:12 So Poots and Pat are like, we got to go. You can't, Pat tel this long, meandering story about playing paintball with Marines. Yep. And the whole thing is like you can't play at real war. You just have to play to play to play to play to play to play to play to play to play to play to play to play to play to the to to the to the to to the the the to the the the the the the the the the their life. It their life. It their life. I. It. It th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. I. It. I. I. I. I. I. I. I th. I. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I the. I the. the. thee. theeeeeea. theea. theeea. thea. thea. thea. theea. the. the. the. th Marines. And the whole thing is like you can't play at real war. You just have to play war. Right. So they Sharpie like camouflage paint onto their faces shave his head. Why does he shave his head? I don't know. I don't know. Skinnyn it's gotta have always have clippers. Gotta keep it fresh. fresh, gotta keep it fresh. Sure. And so they become like military-level like murder junkies now. They like come up with, they hatch a plan. Yeah. And like, Darcy keeps sending in young guys who seem like kind of idiotic.
Starting point is 00:38:00 Yeah. Wait, we didn't even talk about the twins stabbing each other. Oh, that's right. That was so weird. And that, you know what it made me remember was the twins and um, Hellraiser Bloodline, the two security guards. Oh, sure. If you're meshed his one. And then I thought about that for like, I had to like pause the movie, because I was just remembering them. He was like, you want to never be separated from your brother. And they were like, yeah. The whole thing with, so early in the movie, Pat sees the stabbing, calls the police, tells them there's a stabbing, Gabe takes his phone, calls the cops back, or they cops call him back
Starting point is 00:38:37 after they hang up on him. And he's like, yeah, there's definitely been a stabbing you should send cops and then convinces a set of twins for one to stab the other one child twins I would say look like little baby twins little baby skinheads and he's like all right here's 300 bucks if you do time we'll double it yeah and they're like on your teeat and I was like sir if I do time you're more than double it's like the to the tttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttb. tb. tb. tb tb tb tb tb tb tb tb tb tb tb tb tb tb to to to to tw. I tb to to to to to to t t t t t t t t t t t t the t t the t t t t t t t t t t t t t t t t tw. tw. tw. tw. tw. tb tw. tw. I I tb tb tb tb tw. tw. tb tb tb tw. tb tb tb tw. tb tb tb tb tw. tw. tb. tb. tb. tb. tb. tb. tb. tb are like, you're the victim and the one kid's like, yeah, and they're like on your knees. Yeah. Okay. All right. Um, it's so, it's so weird. But like it also establishes like just the cult-like level of those fucking nut bars, which is real.
Starting point is 00:39:20 Like, it's real, it's real. That shit is real. So yeah, they execute their plan, Amber and Pat. I did like the one skinhead who looks like the tiniest baby that's ever existed in a full grown man's body. He's like, when Daniel and the skinhead go inside, and there's like just the two of them they're going to go in and fix this. And he's like the the the if you just want to send me inside. Yeah. He has the weirdest voice and I was like, you're British.
Starting point is 00:39:49 You must British. I like when Daniel is saying to Amber, he's like, I know something you don't know. I know where we keep the, and then his face just gets blown off. That blew me away. Yeah, I loved that. It's so good. Yeah. That was also also also also also also also also also also also also also th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. the tho. tho. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. It's so good. Yeah. That was also really gross. Could you just see half of his face explode out? It looks great. Yeah. The gore in this movie is like, it's kind of
Starting point is 00:40:12 shadowed, like it's all done in darkness. There's no like really like superfluous goor, I would say. Sure. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Here's a dog running from feedback. I like that they use that more than once. Yeah, it's really cute. The dog's like, mother fucker! It's so loud. Yeah, it hurts my ears. I have dog ears. So Amber and Pat managed to kill most of the skinneds that are still there. I like that they're screaming for Gabe who was just power washing so he can't hear them. I thought that was very funny and then like at the end I feel like it took like a weird comedy turn where they started doing this like where Gabe becomes comedic. It's just it was just such a weird tone shift to be like oh we forgot to put jokes in here let's put them in now you know. Sure. Well we th. th. th. th. Totally. Or funny well, as I should have said. Funny good.
Starting point is 00:41:07 You know he do funny good. I think we do funny good. Yeah. Watch out, uh, tea public new shirt, coven, we do funny good. People are like, I am absolutely not purchasing that with my hard-earned dollars. I might buy that Lucia's shirt like, nah, I'll talk. We gotta go. Yeah. Take us to your leader. Right, which he does. Yeah. And then he's like, uh, why don't I go and tell these people working in this field over here that call the cops because you need help. And he goes and doesn't want to go to jail. Yeah. Yeah. they. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to to to to. to. to. to to to to to to to to to to to go. to go. to go. We's to go. We. We. We. We. We. We. We. We. We. We. We. We. We. We. We. We. We. We. We. We. We. We. We. We. We. We. We. We. We. We. We. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. go to jail? I don't know. Okay, just drinking. I don't know. I don't have a big as big of a problem with how
Starting point is 00:41:51 is he not going to jail as I do with the movie that we're doing next week? Yeah. Yeah, yeah, definitely. So what's happening is that the bad guys are setting up a scene with the van and the siphon and the dead bodies. Like it was acceptable for them to be stabbed to death because they... So they brought them up to private property. Right. You can't just stab someone to death for siphoning your gas. You live in the same America that I do.
Starting point is 00:42:22 I don't think you can. I mean not. I mean the dog's fine. You can be mauled by dogs on someone else's property. Although their insurance is really going to go up. Don't you think? I would hope so. Yeah I would hope so. Yeah, it hopes too. Good Lord. Yeah, it was an interesting ploy but also like extremely sad for Pat to come upon all the bodies of his dead friends. Yeah. And you like sort of forget about it for a minute too that they're all dead and then when he sees him he's like, oh man.
Starting point is 00:42:56 He asks Gabe, were you there for them? And he was like two of them? Yeah. Yeah, he was your friend? Okay. So they kill a baby Nazi, and then they kill Patrick Stewart. Yeah. Yeah, they probably gets off that one last useless shot, you know? I did like that.
Starting point is 00:43:13 It did put a hell of a debt in that van, though. They would have to fuck somebody up with that bullet caught. For sure. There's a lot of bullets. There's a lot of shots. There's a lot of tolol bullets th bullets th bullets th and hands and bullets of pockets. And just a lot of talk about bullets to get the bullets, find the cartridges, stick them in your pocket, where are the shells? How many shots you've left three? How many do you have left three? How many now? Two. No, just one. It's true. Bullet. It's true. Bullet to mention there's also the subplot of Daniel and Emily were getting out of the gang Nazi skinhead group.
Starting point is 00:43:46 Right. By, they had an evidence of a murder. They had a baseball boat that was used in a murder. Right. That they were going to give to the police. Which Patrick Stewart says was supposed to be disposed of after the boot party on Easter? Okay. Do you know what that means? A boot party is when you basically kick someone the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the thiii.. the the the thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. theananannancananannance. theanananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananan. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. the. theeee. theeeee. theeeaaa. theeeea. thea. theeee know what that means? A boot party is when you basically kick someone to death, kick the shit out of somebody. Oh my God. Nazis are the worst. Literally. I know.
Starting point is 00:44:14 Not being facetious. This isn't like, what if this was like dust boot, we're like, well, maybe. Oh, god. These ones aren't bad. No I don't feel that way. Yeah even making Blair at the end of this you're like yeah so fuck that guy. Yeah fuck that guy. I'm mad that he gets away. For sure. Yeah yeah he gets like this like weird redemption arc. Just because you have a baby face doesn't mean you should get away. Yeah just because I like you a lot in making Blair, come on buddy. Go to hell making Blair.
Starting point is 00:44:46 I'm sure you're fine. Yeah, I'm sure. So yeah, they kill Patrick Stewart and then he's like, uh, oh I figured out what my, uh, my desert island band is and what did you say, like tell somebody who gives a shit. Tell somebody who gives a shit, credits roll. Pouts. Green room. We did it. I'm glad. I saw it. Did you like it?
Starting point is 00:45:08 Uh, are you asking me? Did you want to ring it? It is no fucking fun. No. It's very stressful. Yeah. It's very violent. I enjoyed it quite a bit.
Starting point is 00:45:17 Oh, awesome. But I was justthat there's not like any torture element to it. Like I was sort of comparing it to the loved ones. Oh yeah. Which just, it was the last movie we did that really, really, really stressed me out. You know? And this was much more palatable for me because of the lack of torture. So I'm going to give it an eight and a half.
Starting point is 00:45:41 I thought it was great. Although I just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just I just just just just just just just just just just just I just that I just thia I just th. I just th. I just and a half. I thought it was great. Oh, that's awesome. Although, I just think that like, stop taking good American jobs, British actors. I'm just joking, but also like, don't cast Joe Cole as an American person. He can't, no, he did not. Every time he yelled, you were like, are you going to the Lou now? I'm gonna get back to the lord lord lord lord lord lord! Put it in the boot! No, Joe Cole. No. Yeah, I think the fact that this movie gets over the dumb hurdle at the beginning
Starting point is 00:46:14 of like, they should definitely just drive away and become such a tense thriller. And it's very reminiscent of, have you ever seen Carpenters' assault on Precinct 13? I have not. I listened to the soundtrack a billion times, but I've never watched it, yeah. I really want someone to do an entire rap album over that soundtrack. It's so good. Yeah. But it's all about like being in a precinct and just like,
Starting point is 00:46:40 gang members keep flooding into the precinct to them. And it feels th th th feels th feels th feels th feels th feels th feels th feels th feels th feels th feels th feels th feels th feels th feels th feels th feels th feels the thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thoes the thi, thi. thea the the the the the. to to to the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the, th. th. the, it's the, it's the. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. the the an theanananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananto try to kill them. And it feels a lot like that. It's like, you get like this little home invasion vibe to it and like. But it's not even your own home so you can't even, you don't even know where anything is. Exactly. Like even when they're in this building, they keep getting stuck back in the green room. Like they keep coming back to it and they they use their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their uh, crawl, where they just keep ending up back in the house.
